I watched the budget speech. Found it very boring of course. Billions here, billions there, billions almost everywhere. Debt on its way to a trillion. Who cares? I remember caring when debt and deficits mattered. Wayne Swan was always chasing surpluses without ever catching one. Though it didn’t stop him from being named by the publication Euromoney in 2011 as “the world’s best treasurer.” Those were the days.
I suppose the Coalition was in sight of achieving a surplus before Covid. All dashed and diddled now. If only Joe Hockey had understood how little people care; how little it matters apparently. He wouldn’t have introduced that hari-kari budget in 2014, which did in Abbott. And worse, laid the groundwork for Malcolm Turnbull and Zali Steggall and, maybe now, a whole cohort of Climate 200 activists to keep company with Labor and the Greens; long to reign over us.
Anyway, I became distracted and focussed on superficial things. In a word, masks; or, in two words, face nappies. So far as I could see only Josh and the PM went maskless on the Coalition benches. I assume all on the opposition benches were masked. They love masks. Don’t ever want to see the back of them. Only Sigmund Freud would be able to uncover why; by plunging into the deep recesses of their warped minds. Unfortunately, he’s not around anymore and the modern lot are simply not up to it. Probably all schooled themselves in left-wing politics in medical-cum-psycho school. Think it’s normal.
Don’t know why Morrison got away with being maskless. Judging by the comments of Liberal Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells, I suspect he might have threatened to bully the clerk of the house of representatives Claressa Surtees unless given an exemption. Can’t vouch for that.
I looked up Canberra rules. There doesn’t seem to be any requirement to wear masks in Parliament House but then businesses can make their own rules. Presumably, that’s the answer. There they all were, cowering in their masks for fear of Covid singling them out. Punishment for their transgressions? Karma? Who knows what guilt they feel for causing so much misery and distress, and robbing us of our God-given freedoms, for the past two years? Given their character and given half a chance, not enough to make them stop, I’d venture.
Just more madnesses of the age, Peter…
Masks won’t help them dodge the clots or the infarction.
There is no scenario where Australia pays off it’s sovereign debt, absolutely none. This is the same throughout the western world.
Hence why the Great Reset and “you’ll own nothing and be happy” is being pushed.
I can only see massive asset confiscation, or defaults on sovereign debt and wiping the slate clean (a debt jubilee).
I can only hope there is a debt jubilee and that the bankers, money printers and many politicians are exiled from Australia.
Make Usury a Mortal Sin Again.
Albanese is at least as big a clown as Zelenskyy, the flamer of Ukraine that plays the piano with his cock.
So, if you want a Jerry Lewis as Prime Minister, by all means go ahead and Vote Labor/Independent.
I don’t think “democracy” was ever meant to deal with the scenario where one side are basically internal traitors.
they will steal assets with a tax on unrealised gains. debt jubilee will never happen, too much steve keen nonsense.
Yes, yes, yes, Labor will be a disaster as usual but think of all the legislation they will bring in!
Isn’t that how they talked up Gillard’s reign?
She brought in masses of new legislation, thousands of items
I’m sure Albo us up to it
That’s the contradiction of the Parliamentary Democracies, one side opposes for the sake of opposing.
That mighta worked with Liberals and Tories, but once Labor Parties and their shadowy owners arrived on the scene, it turned into ClownWorld.
Mask wearing is a proxy IQ test.
Doesn’t surprise then that everyone in Parliament House is wearing one.
they will steal assets with a tax on unrealised gains.
Maximum Leader is already onto it.
The proposal is that the Victorian government can rezone your land whether you want it rezoned or not, then tax you on the resulting increase in value irrespective of whether you want to sell or not.
It’s odd since most rezoning is done for the benefit of maaaaaates. There’ll have to be some loophole somewhere.
Peter – just received this from my accountants as a quick summary of what is in last night’s budget.
I am an employer (Ag sector) and a mandated employer of the Single Touch Payroll system (thru Xero), I would add, that the system has knocked a whole lot of time consuming bullshit work off my everyday/fortnight calendar in doing the Government’s unpaid work for them. Gawd help the Government if it had to actually trust everyday working Australians to do their own Taxes & super !!
In relation to the emphasized paragraph above, what I did not sign up for, is to have my employees private taxation and super records shared with, in my case, the NSW State Government and particularly without employees consent or warrant. In my mind there can only be one reason that the Federal Government in collusion with the State Governments would want to do this seemingly nefarious act of personal data mining, and that is to fuck up as many private employees as the State Government can get their grubby corrupt hands on, and notwithstanding, that PAYG taxation and its privacy implications is exclusive to the Commonwealth.
I certainly hope that this fucked up corrupt initiative blows up in their collective socialist faces.
He wouldn’t have introduced that hari-kari budget in 2014, which did in Abbott.
That budget actually had more Commonwealth spending than Goose Swansteen’s last effort. How Hockey managed to turn it into a political disaster as well as a financial disaster is beyond comprehension.
It gets worse. I have received a number of emails now telling me that as a company director I must obtain a myGov Digital ID. You cannot be a director of a company in Australia without a digital ID.
This is just the slippery slope to mandatory Digital ID for all Australians, and then we know full well what’s going to happen from there with regards to social credit systems, de-platforming, bank account freezes, etc.
Disconnecting from the beat system is getting more and more difficult as the evil gets more and more in your face.
If Morrison and Co had half a brain, he would have ended the mandates in Australia and put an end to useless mask wearing. I cannot find one item worldwide to prove they helped, just like the mega destructive lockdowns.
Instead he and the treasurer doom us to the possible nightmarish future of Labor and Greens, all communists the lot of them. After all most states have dictator Labor leaders now. Plus the politicians and media are hiding the Pfizer death vaccine reports.
A secret handshake or totem might be in order
There’s something Kafkaesque about a bunch of pollies inflicting upon themselves a ritual which has no scientific basis, which numerous studies have shown doesn’t work and which isn’t even required by the rules of the House. The lie has come back upon them. I hope they wear wretched face nappies forever. The poor ventilation at least won’t hurt their brains much, since by clear visual evidence they don’t have one. It’d be fun to watch their eyes cross in puzzlement when you try to explain the difference between microns and nanometres.
The Australian media are totally negligent on the matter of the spending forecast in the budget and Labor’s response to it. Every time a politician says that extra money will be spent on such-and-such they should be immediately asked how they will pay for it.
No-one ever seems to enquire just whom do we owe this debt. Do those people to whom we owe this debt, owe us in return?
There’s a massive train wreck around the corner.
It’s going to be very ugly, and the imbeciles who gave it to us will be on their fat pensions.
Scum and vermin the lot of them !
Yes masks annoy the shit out of me as well. How can anyone still believe they work?
I was in my local cafe and a (male) Karen had a crack at me for not wearing a mask. I gave him a serve back and it was left there. The next day when I entered the cafe, there was Karen again, however this time he was eating, so had taken off his mask. He said nothing and lowered his eyes when he saw me. I didn’t need to say anything.
Now at that point, he must have realised how stupid the mask pantomime is. How could he not? Yet, no doubt, he will continue to wear the ridiculous thing. What is wrong with these people?
Spot on jupes.
At my local cafe the staff no longer wear masks, they’ve had enough of this bullshit – good on them.
And yet the other day when I was leaving the cafe, a Mercedes convertible was slowly driving by, open air and all . . . and the female driver was wearing a bloody mask ! ! !
I just shake my head at these imbeciles.
All these mask wearers in the land of dan will ensure he is re-elected at the next state election.
We are stuffed as a state !
@ Cliff Boof:
Negligent?
Try: Actively complicit.
The LSM is the tail wagging the “dog”.
What the media didn’t want you to know about on Budget Day morning… https://imgur.com/a/mP5oEG8
I visited Parliament House on two occasions in mid-February, when I was down there for the major freedom rally – my daughter signed me in.
At no stage did I wear a submission muzzle, and nobody said a word about it.
People were wearing masks in the corridors, but not in the offices.
But it always has been a clever little virus, that knows not to infect unmasked people in offices and not to pass right through masks in corridors.
Dunno why it didn’t infect me – perhaps my natural immunity scared it off.
Judge, be sure to watch Clive’s Press Club address on Thursday (7/4) at 12.30.
There is a way and he’ll announce it then, along with two other policies that will be well-received.
That’s because Karens loiter in corridors. They are attracted to them, like mossies to puddles.
It’s like people who wear the mufflers in the sign-on room when the managers are about, but don’t much care otherwise.
Good to see you about, Cardimona. 🙂
Franger!
Fuck off.
On the campaign trail I see a lot of ALP apparatchiks loyally wearing their submission muzzles outdoors.
I suppose it could be to make it harder to be recognised, which is fair enough given the policies of the party they’re supporting.
I’ve been wading in amongst them, under their marquees, to engage people I know in discussions – which makes the Karens noticeably uncomfortable, much to my wicked amusement.
You gloriously naughty man. 🙂
Why?
Yet, as noted above, the bastards wear them in the House of Reps because the cameras are on. So, to be clear, they don’t believe masks work but they are pretending to the people of Australia that they do.
Just. Fucking. Despicable.
The problem is the Labor Party, the Party of Moral Panics.
If Scotty said “Look, masks are bullshit, get a fuckin’ life”,
Labor would front up with some spastic Kid who freaks out when people are not wearing masks.
Then a non stop Moral Panic would break out.
It’s the same with Zelenskyy.
Scotty could say
“Look, this AssHat plays the Piano with his cock, why would I listen to him?”
5 minutes later, Labor fronts the cameras with some limbless kid whose burning ambition is to play the piano with his cock.
Moral Panic ensues …
“a Mercedes convertible was slowly driving by, open air and all . . . and the female driver was wearing a bloody mask”
The award for imbecility must goto a young woman who was walking, alone, in an empty street, in the rain, without an umbrella, and, of course, wearing a mask.

Franger!
Fuck off.
Has Rex upset you, Dickless?
Is it because he is a flamer, or a spook, or both?
It will be fine until our energy network suffers a catastrophic failure due to lack of base load power and high demand…
combine that with a lack of diesel to power the backup generators and nobody will be able to prove who they are or sign in anywhere!
“I assume all on the opposition benches were masked. They love masks. Don’t ever want to see the back of them.”
Gotta wonder if it is like the US, where they wear them when at risk of being seen on the MSM, but as soon as that is gone, ripped off immediately and with relief. And if, like the US, they want to mandate mask wearing at work, but not for themselves at work.
Politics is perception, and the perception they think matters is what appears on TV and in the papers and social media. Nothing else matters to them. NOTHING else. Because perception gets them votes.
