Terry McCrann just remarked to Rita Panahi that Biden’s stuff up in Afghanistan will have repercussions throughout this century.

The as yet undiscussed consequence will likely be the deterioration of the us military. Both infrastructure and personnel.

I mean – who would want to join an army where you will be left behind if it suits the suits – and the brass are more interested in woke credentialism than combat ability.

Experts also told the Globe the increase in breakthrough cases is attributable to diminishing immunity from the COVID-19 vaccines, emphasizing the need for booster shots in the coming months.

Either that, or the vaccine itself is causing the “breakthroughs” but they never, ever even hint at that possibility.

Their ABC hits the ball up:

Climate change solution could come from ‘electrifying everything’, Australian inventor Saul Griffith says

Households would replace petrol cars, gas heaters and other items with electric alternatives

These changes would be minimally disruptive, but provide large emission reductions”

It is an easy slam dunk,” Dr Griffith said.

This slam dunk would only cost households $1 trillion (or nothing, with government subsidies).

Plus a bit more for industry.
And some for the new renewable power system.

Why should we tolerate schools that are increasingly woke hotbeds of social engineering, critical race theory and gender fluidity? Of course, parents have always been scandalised by their children. The rites of passage of childhood are littered with transgressive milestones.

A tattoo here, a piercing there. But this is different. A generation of children is emerging who don’t just believe their parents to be wrong – they’re taught to think we’re bad. Take Scotland, which has plunged down international league tables for science and maths in recent years, but where kids as young as four can now change their name and gender without their parent’s consent under new LGBT rules.

As of last month Scottish teachers are also urged to take a white privilege test and tell pupils that the concept of race was developed by Europeans to justify ‘crimes against humanity’. The SNP government in Edinburgh may be at the tip of the woke spear, but the rest of Britain isn’t far behind.
A couple of months ago the National Education Union, which has 450,000 members across the UK, said the way classrooms are laid out was “shaped by colonisation” and the teaching of every subject needed to be reassessed in the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests. A lot of this stuff pre-dates Black Lives Matter.

Look at the lessons your children will be taught in history and ask yourself why it’s now America’s Civil Rights’ Movement or the Atlantic Slave Trade and no longer the English Civil War or the French Revolution.

Look at the English Literature reading lists to see how certain novels have been airbrushed for being inappropriate, the latest, ludicrously, being Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird. Ask yourself why it is that schools will fine you, the parent, for keeping your child off school, but won’t stop pupils taking the day off school to support Greta Thunburg.

Polls show no support for the woking of the curriculum. But here’s the thing. An extreme minority within the Teaching Establishment would love to peddle left-wing politics in the classroom. To continue what the Marxist philosopher Antonio Gramsci called the Slow March Through the Institutions. But that would be too overt. With identity politics, insidiously, they have found a way.

https://vanessatorre.medium.com/women-arent-single-because-they-have-high-standards-1e5e430a59ef

What a short sighted article. The author is 43 and she was offended by a rich, drunk 45 year old man approaching her and other women in a bar.

The entire comment thread is a gold mine of shit.

Now if we – humans, not men – get can enough of you to stop voting for people (and worse a growing movement toward theocracy) who want to take all that away again, we can hold on to a LOT of social progress. Not trying to make this about politics, but it’s a true and real worry for every woman I know.

(Don’t wory, he’s a fat NYC leftist and fake IT geek.)

This f*&%ing guy…

I’m not sure what to think anymore. Women have high standards. Got it. They should. Using the man in the article as a reason why women need to have such high standards doesn’t really sell it for me though. I don’t think he would’ve managed to convince a woman with even low standards that he’s a catch. Question. Do men want to get married? I don’t know. I’ve never been. Don’t know if I really ever want to. And I sure as heck don’t want kids. I love kids. I really do. But none of my own, thanks. And all this going on about emotional immature men in every women-have-high-standards article or comments that I read? Maybe they’re just *immature*. And maybe this is why I can never relate to any of these type of articles. Except for being 38 and not owning a home I don’t relate to any of the descriptions that women put forth about men in any other their articles. I have a job. I don’t drink or do drugs. I now my dad’s yard and help him around the house. I like to sing and play piano. I recently started going to the skate park. I take care of myself. I’m well-groomed and bald. I read a ton and like to talk about important things like the climate crisis, antivaxxers are killing us, and republicans are sociopaths. So, have I cleared the bar?

…and now the spinster author REEEEEs at an old dude for marrying a younger gal almost 40 years ago.

“”Decent men get snatched up quick, they most often do not frequent bars. That is where they met their Ex and they do not want to go through that again. After I was divorced I had plenty of offers from single mothers, I turned them all down.
One was kind enough to introduce me to a never married young woman. I was standing 100 ft away when the other women pointed me out. She gave me a very hungry look, but I was I was tall, handsome, trim and well groomed. One date was enough to answer all her questions. We have been married 37 years so far. She still thinks I’m handsome, just not so trim any more, but neither is she.”””

…..***Interested in why you would refuse a date with a single mom.
Also, where do decent men hang out where a woman might meet them?
***

I think we’re done here.

And if it were true why wouldn’t everyone who’d been vaccinated get the covid?

I have no medical qualification. What I have heard from various sources, mostly linked here, is that the spike proteins the body is forced to produce following vaccination are in themselves toxic. They can have various effects, blood clots being the most common, but can also cause Covid in and of themselves. Actually, isn’t this even the case with the flu shot causing flu sometimes?

Nice one Shatterzzz!

Tiny fun moment this morning. The noisy miners have wreaked havoc through the Cafe Bruce spider community since several families converge on the Cafe for takeaways. They’re not adverse to hoovering up any local spiders whilst they await the head waiter bringing their order.

So there’s a spider drought. Which has blown back on the noisies – this morning a lady noisy was driven to extracting single spider web threads from around the wind mirror on my car. Which was a difficult hover-and-pluck exercise. Spider web is the plush velvet of the noisy world, and the local families are currently building their second nests of the season.

A woke northern suburbs council needs a new street sweeper – but men need not apply.

The same council that last week resolved to rid the world of nuclear weapons has advertised a $63,000 a year job as a street sweeper operator and explicitly banned men from lodging their resume.
According to the job listing on Darebin Council’s website, the position is for a “non-male identified person” only, including those who are “non-binary” and “agender”.

At the bottom of the same listing is a note saying Darebin Council is an “Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in its selection and employment practices”.

It has locked men out of the job under Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act, which allows an employer to take a “special measure” to promote equality for people with a particular attribute.

Approved covid vaccines don’t use a live virus either

Accepted that it doesn’t actually give you the sars-cov2 virus.

Is it a question of semantics?

Sars-cov2(the virus) causes covid19(the disease) (see distinction made in like below) by causing the spike protein that causes illness/death. The vaccines cause the body to produce the same spike proteins therefore as the effect is the same so by definition you have covid19(the disease) even though you do not have have the sars-cov2 virus.

Covid19(the disease) is not transmissible without sars-cov2 (the virus). What have I misunderstood?

He is a curious fellow. He was much more at home penning his columns at his own pace. His TV presence is not as good. He speaks slowly, deliberately, ploddingly, with awkward pauses between words. Oh, and it messes up any chance of deploying humour.

Compare him to Chris Kenny or Alan Jones whom I expect are reading from a teleprompter (either a script or point form) but who speak fluently and without hesitation. They have the orator’s toolkit.

True, ‘vaccination’ is not about being COVID-free.
Being ‘vaccinated’ is to be treated with the scientifically approved brand and with no other. And being branded makes persons ritually pure.
But we could the invoke imperative of the Good Samaritan who confronted ritual impurity, unlike those who crossed the road for the good of society, or unlike those of the Samaritan’s own people whom he had left on his soujourn.

The UN will make itself more and more ridiculous

Speaking of such things:

Australia Rejects U.N. Demand to End Coal Mining: Will Ignore ‘Foreign Body’ (6 Sep)

Selwin Hart, the U.N.’s assistant secretary-general and special adviser on climate action, told a leadership forum at the Australian National University the phasing out of coal is a prerequisite to the globalist body’s plan to contain “global warming.”

“If the world does not rapidly phase out coal, climate change will wreak havoc right across the Australian economy: from agriculture to tourism, and right across the services sector,” he said.

Australia’s Resources Minister Keith Pitt shot back by affirming coal would remain a significant contributor to the Australian economy well beyond 2030.

Well done Mr Pitt. Ironically the UN never seems to criticise China, which burns more coal than the rest of the world put together.

You can’t “kill” Christianity. You can pressure the monolithic organisations, which is different thing entirely.

This is a test for those organisations, and the hierarchy down to individual priests and pastors. They are instructed to obey the “governing authorities”. I had this conversation with my pastor a few months ago – at what point do you disobey them and obey conscience? He was aware. It’s a question that anyone in Christian leadership has asked themselves as a hypothetical. The rubber is yet to hit the road.

And if Australia becomes “Chinafied” the church will go underground as it has there and in the past.

That First Things article encapsulated where my thoughts are headed. Thanks for posting.

I envisage a lot of muddled thinking on this issue. It will be around “serving” the wider church community by keeping them healthy, as if there has never been a risk posed by genuinely sick people before. Also about keeping churches open, even if they are only so by government decree, forced to close at any real or imagined infraction.

“Healthism” is a keeper. Just another version of materialism.

Pretty clearly the moment to defy the godless aggressively anti-christian state is around the time it tells you you can’t run church anymore, or tells you who is and isn’t allowed in, and tells you you have to provide it with the names of everyone attending.

It’s funny watching the whole ‘we must obediently do as the government says’ narrative suddenly spring up out of the mouths of skinny-fat, extremely comfortable, weak, ineffective ‘pastors’ whose feeble effeminate version of Christianity has seen the complete collapse of Christianity in Australia over the last 30 years. What they explain is that overnight, sometime last year the Amish and Plymouth Brethern interpretation of Romans 13 – that christians are not to be involved in worldly politics was declared supreme and correct.

It’s an amazing coincidence that this sudden discovery makes their own total capitulation of being taken over by the state and now ordered when they’re allowed to run and what they’re allowed to say, and who is allowed to attend their churches completely indistinguishable from the rank cowardice that it looks like.

There are no good interviewers on Sky. Bolt and Jones are woeful but for different reasons. Jones wants people to only say things that amplify (briefly) what he has already decreed. Bolt is simply nervous and finds interruption reassuring. The worst of all is McGregor whose questions go something like this: “Jim Molan, what is the best way forward for our troubled submarine purchases – because it seems to me that what we have to do is… (three minutes’ worth)…?”

Sky is now verging on unwatchable. It is 180 minutes of the same program – with one host doing an hour-long shift.

I like Rita but her reliance on woke follies for copy is becoming tiresome.

Sky’s editorial policy is that the state gives freedom and all we can do until we ‘get’ it back is to 1) get ‘vaccinated’; and 2) obey everything the state tells us to do.

There’s yet another dumb boomer ‘quip’ that’s starting to come out which is ‘oh well, things have been worse, this is minor compared to being fed to lions’.

The problem with that – which (again coincidentally) makes cowardly inaction indistinguishable from some sort of stoicism, is that anything short of being fed to lions is ‘minor’ compared to being fed to lions.

‘Oh well, the state having control over who can and can’t attend churches is minor compared to feeding Christians to lions, the church will survive”.

‘Oh well Chinese Christians, being banned from public events, public transport and hospitals because of a negative social credit score is minor compared to being fed to lions, the church will survive’

‘Oh well Soviet era Christians, a lifetime of dread and sneaking around and the occasional decade in the gulag is minor compared to being fed to lions, the church will survive something something’.

Noticeably the people who say this stuff all went their entire lives comfortably attending church in a society still running on the fumes of a Christian culture. A culture that was built by aggressively political activist Christians who stormed the apparatus of the state and jealously guarded it for centuries.

Now that it doesn’t matter, it’s all “oh well, what a shame, you’ll just have to put up with it – don’t go making waves while we’re still around please, just sign in, just don’t preach half the bible as it’s been designated Hate(tm), and the church will ‘survive’”.

That First Things piece by Reno exemplifies all that is wrong with Christian apologetics.
Hundreds of words of so-sorry-to-say-this padding before the customary dumb ‘lesson’ drawn from Christ’s words about Caesar’s coin.

Christ was not saying the civil authorities must be obeyed in all things but that the state’s coinage is worthless compared to God’s law. The disciples and the early Christians resolutely ignored the state’s moral and legal authority for centuries.

RSome excerpts from this article in the National Catholic Register:
Bishop Paprocki of Springfield, Ill. offers guidance to Catholics concerned about the COVID vaccine.

With regard to mandatory vaccination, while the Church promotes vaccination as morally acceptable and urges cooperation with public health authorities in promoting the common good, there are matters of personal health and moral conscience involved in vaccines that must be respected. Therefore, vaccine participation must be voluntary and cannot be forced, as the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, under the authority of Pope Francis, indicated last December. While we encourage vaccination, we cannot and will not force vaccination as a condition of employment or the freedom of the faithful to worship in our parishes.

…as Pope St. Paul VI wrote in his 1965 “Declaration on Religious Freedom” (Dignitatis Humanae, no. 13), “The Christian faithful, in common with all other men, possess the civil right not to be hindered in leading their lives in accordance with their consciences.” More recently, Pope Francis has said, “The conscience is the interior place for listening to the truth, to goodness, for listening to God; it is the inner place of my relationship with Him, the One who speaks to my heart and helps me to discern, to understand the way I must take and, once the decision is made, to go forward, to stay faithful.” Thus, while Catholics are not bound to refuse the vaccine as a form of immoral cooperation with abortion, and while there is a prima facie obligation to cooperate with public health authorities in promoting the common good, each Catholic must make his or her own decision, in light of each person’s particular situation and moral responsibilities. The Catholic Church recognizes that some Catholics will be bound in conscience to refuse the vaccine.

The real question, ultimately, is how principled the High Court will prove to be – or not be – when a passport case makes its way to its bench. Both mandatory vaccination – and mandating it for all intents and purposes by other coercive means – are clearly illegal, in Australian law and pursuant to international law (via section 51).

To endorse passports, the justices would need to invent a vibe out of whole cloth.

The Spanish Flu pandemic started in March 1918, significantly in the northern hemisphere spring. I assume that by October the doctors could know the difference between Spanish Flu and broncho pneumonia. This tiny bit of information adds to the data that many deaths attributed to Spanish Flu were actually pneumonia.

He was gassed in October 1917, which probably didn’t help.

Doesn’t that make you the “blog policeman” you just accused me of?
And of sticking your nose in other people’s conversations, like you also just accused me?
There’s a button under every post.
Hit it if you are worried.

Dover’s Catholaxy bog

I see this claim made now and then but it is without evidence. Not that I’m perturbed, I’ve always like the term Catholaxy but that it is used derisively is instructive.

Yep.
This has shaken religious bigots of various stripes out of the trees.
The failure to call out Bird by some on Dash-Cat also speaks volumes.
The “Oh, it’s best to just scroll past” line doesn’t cut it.

“As soon as ussr stops spraying bile at people, spreading batshit crazy conspiracies and lying about other posters, there will be peace in our time.”

Correct…..and Mrs Nong has been rather nasty about Calli who is one of the sanest and most rational of us all. Yesterday Mrs Nong was promulgating lies about Sinclair. Yet when Mrs Nong is rightly corrected and pulled up for her bile and other puerile nonsense, she goes into full leftist victim mode.

Did they “verbal and lie” about you, or were you just taking on the role of “blog policeman”?
Is it cool to “direct traffic” and “police” the blog, or not?

And yes, Leigh Lowe, if you had courage to pick up a phone or show up in person, it would indeed have saved the readership here days of stupid crap.
But you are indeed, just an anonymous person who has no identifiable real life contacts.
people should regard your continual attempts to direct traffic and police comments in that light.

So all blog conversation must be binary with people only responding to comments specifically directed at them?
Anyway.
Mission accomplished.
Every time that question about Sinc’s blog gets asked, ussr goes missing for a while.
Because she knows why she got turfed, and it was pretty disgusting stuff for a happy-clapper to dish up.
But thanks for prolonging the discussion on it.

Five seconds of Googling…

Fairfax, February 25, 2019:

Queensland needs 250 more paramedics to reduce ramping, union says.

Recruiting 250 more ambulance officers will help reduce ambulance ramping at southeast Queensland hospitals, the ambulance officers’ union says.

United Voice, which represents paramedics, has called for the Queensland government to fund the positions after the latest Queensland Health data showed ramping was increasing. A patient is considered “ramped” when they have to wait on a stretcher for more than 30 minutes before they are admitted to hospital.

The data for December 2018 showed Robina Hospital recorded 35 per cent of its patients ramped, an increase of 10 per cent on the previous year.

The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital also ramped 35 per cent of its patients in December 2018, an increase of seven per cent. Logan Hospital remained steady at 40 per cent, the worst in the state.

ABC, 22 January 2020:

Patients forced to wait in ambulances as emergency departments struggle with thousands of patients daily.

When Yvonne James’s 88-year-old mother was rushed to hospital [in South Australia] after a fall, instead of going straight in she was forced to sit in the back of an ambulance because the emergency department was full.

The controversial practice known as “ramping” is on the rise, as the nation’s hospitals buckle under the strain of an average 23,000 presentations each day.

“The ambulance officers said no, she couldn’t go into the hospital, they had to get permission and hadn’t got that permission to go in,” Ms James told 7.30.

This second report goes on to describe a ramping crisis in capital cities and major population centres throughout Australia.

Nothing to do with coronavirus.

Just as here, the VICTORIAN STATE is pushing, “Obey or No Medical Care For You!”, and as to naming people, you may like to name real, private people, in the real world, anonymously on an anonymous blog, but that’s not my thing, yet I will say, there a frighteningly lot of them.

Yes and the meja ran dead- pretendted it hadn’t happened. Then they set about making government almost impossible for him. ‘Gaff’ was the in word then like ‘jab’ is now. Remember ‘winkgate’? Abbott certainly didn’t help himself or his supporters of course.

Never ever trust the dinosaur meja or give them your money. They are poisonous trash with their BAs in communications.

“Abbott certainly didn’t help himself or his supporters of course.”

No….he enabled them by being too nice. Remember it only took weeks before he appointed Stott Despoiler and then he was so nice and dignified about Shorten’s mother in law…when her situation was untenable after Shorten was elected Labor leader…Abbott so nicely opined that it was okay…she should finish her term. And all of that was before he reneged on 18C.
