Good to hear Limbrick was there on Saturday. I am ashamed I wasn’t but not even sure how I could have got into the CBD.

I’m coming very close to joining the UAP but Palmer’s actions during the Abbott era are holding me back especially since he reminds us about them on the UAP website. It’s almost like a contradiction- ‘I saved the RET’ but ‘I’m for freedom of association’. Would be much more comfortable if it was Kelly without Palmer. They’re cutting through though.

That’s how I feel too Milton, I haven’t forgiven Palmer for keeping the RET. Abbott wanted to get rid of the Carbon Tax and the RET and even though Palmer supported Abbott to bin the Carbon Tax, he voted against killing the RET, which was brought to us by John Howard.

Palmer, however, did challenge the WA Government’s closed border policy in the High Court by himself. The Federal Government should also have been a party but they backed out, probably due to cabinet solidarity with Morrison’s unconstitutional “national cabinet.” So, I’ll give Clive some points for that valiant though fruitless effort.

The UAP wants to see nuclear power generation in Australia, I don’t know how that will play out with his support for the RET. I’d prefer to see more coal generation as it’s the least expensive, however nuclear power will deliver reliable energy even though it won’t be as cheap as coal, so I can live with that.

My intention at the moment is to vote UAP primarily because I think the major problem we face are the government policies, state and Federal, regarding the management of the Covid issue. I’m opposed to compulsory vaccinations, I’m opposed to internal passports, but most importantly, I’m furious that Covid sufferers are denied, on threat of gaol time, inexpensive anti-viral treatment.

Australians are needlessly dying because of this ban, this is unforgivable and for that reason alone, I intend to vote for Craig Kelly (not Clive).

“Johanna, I think you’re confusing the ‘Peter Principle’ with a book written in the 1950’s – Parkinsons Law. C Northcote Parkinson was a professor of something and that book describes every large organisation or gov dept in which I’ve worked or dealt with, Still as relevant today, right down to the building of bike sheds or perhaps lunch rooms.”
*****
Both CN Parkinson and Laurence J Peter described something similar.
Parkinson referred expressly to the “Law of Triviality” in meetings, whereas Peter identified the more general trait of people who had reached their level of incompetence spending heaps of time on trivialities to avoid it becoming apparent that they weren’t competent to deal with anything more important. The former is more specific, but Johanna may have been referring to the latter.

UAP is a pack of loons (I was close to joining last week, based on their policy statements online)

Australia is a federation of States. You can no more abolish states than you could abolish a politician’s predilection for spending other people’s money.

All states would have to vote to abolish themselves (against the wishes of the local legislature no doubt), first, and then a new constitution drawn up and then ……

JUST STOP IT – what a stupid idea with actually zero chance. Glad I didn’t waste my money on membership. I might still vote for them, just to stop the Libs getting my $3.

I just watched Aussie Cossacks’ clip of the disgraceful old lady assault by Vikpol (with I still call Australia home as the backing track, and read a comment I had missed previously. This commenter noted that at the 53-second mark, a Vikpol officer punched a bloke in the head. At that point, the bloke was moving, but I don’t think he was fighting the officer, just trying to get away (I could be wrong, as I’ve only watched it briefly). Even though only one officer was targeting the bloke at the time of the punch, the bloke was very much outnumbered by other Vikpol within metres, so at first glance, there doesn’t seem to be a valid reason the bloke should be punched in the head. Immediately after the punch, another Vikpol sprays the bloke in the face. What was the purpose of punching this bloke in the head, when it did not appear that the intention was to arrest him? Why not just tackle him?

Kudos to this commenter (sorry, I’ve closed the window already) for noticing this.

If there’s anything the union boys know, it’s when they’re about to be disadvantaged.

They’ll have people they know, who they go to barbies with and see down the pub that have had their livelihoods destroyed by Andrews.

And they also know Setka – up until about lunchtime – was firmly in Andrews’ cot.

Just watching the footage of the CFMEU HQ aftermath, courtesy of duncanm’s link above. The hosing from within the building appears pretty pissweak. Had the crowd wanted to, they could have easily moved along the walls on either side of the entrance, and then moved in (assuming the entrance was not barricaded solidly). Anyone from within wanting to change the angle of hosing to counteract such an entry, would have had to move very close to an open window, and if the crowd had done their pre-planning, projectiles could have been used from outside to negate the hosers. (It’s hard to tell visually, but the water flow didn’t appear too strong; more like washing dogshit off the bottom of the thongs kind of flow.

A mate of mine has a 55-y-o disabled sister who is in hospital, waiting for a transfer to a nursing home.
Nursing home is holding a place for her, but won’t accept her until she is double jabbed.
Hospital won’t give her the vaccine because Brad and the health fascits haven’t developed a policy for vaccinating the disabled who want the jab.
She is too disabled to leave the hospital, and go to the local chemist and get a shot.
My mate has offered to get the shot delivered to the hospital but they won’t administer it.

CFMEU condemns protestors, says they’re all neo-nazis or under the spell of neo-nazis.

The CFMMEU condemns in the strongest possible terms the attack on the CFMEU Victorian Branch office and the mindless acts of violence perpetrated by members of the mob.

This crowd was heavily infiltrated by neo-Nazis and other right wing extremist groups and it is clear that a minority of those who participated were actual union members.

We thank the officials, delegates and rank-and-file members of the union who came to protect their office and their officials, and note that a number of people received minor injuries from acts of violence including the throwing of bottles.

We also thank officials and members from other construction unions and other trade unions who stood in solidarity with us.

The union will continue to defend its members’ rights to work safely across Australia and we will not be intimidated from doing our job.

If the crowd had been infiltrated by super-dooper-bad neo-nasties, why did they remain to loiter in the street after the damage was done to the facade of the CFMEU HQ?

If Vikpol intel was any good, they might have noted the coming and going of groups within the crowd. Presumably if these were ‘right wingers’ (wasn’t that a Nike shoe in the 90s?), and their intention was to foment violence (note the absence of fire, even outside in the street), they would have largely kept together within the crowd – or at least within visual range of each other for protection – and their interactions been reasonably obvious to any observant undercover intel officer?

There are lots of construction sites in and close to the CBD. Presumably Dan and Setka are trying to stop large numbers of wukkas being together, or in close proximity, where a few phone calls could get a sizeable tea party together.
If they’re not allowed to work, it’s much harder for them to form a mob. They’re meant to stay at home or keep within their 5k radius, and so it would be easier for VicPol to pick them off individually on their way to morning tea than if a sizeable number at one construction site suddenly decided it was Earl Grey time (and texted a few like minded chaps nearby).
Two weeks gives Setka quite a bit of time to organise the reprisals and regain control by fear.

An astute comment above by Timothy Nielson.

Further to the right-wing provocateur theory: If the intent was to infiltrate the crowd and make the union look bad by fomenting violence, why was the damage seemingly confined to the main entry of CMFEU HQ (and perhaps inside, I don’t know)? Why were nearby buildings not targeted with projectiles? Why were flares not lit within the crowd to maintain a level of agitation? Aside from the chants, the crowd in general appeared to be simply milling around with hands in their pockets (or filming with their phones!). Why, as I asked on the previous page, was fire not used (like upending a garbage can and setting fire to the pile, for example? If I had paid for provocation, I’d be demanding at least a portion of my money back because of a half-arsed job.

An infectious diseases expert is being considered to replace Jeannette Young as the state’s chief health officer when she becomes Queensland’s Governor on November 1.

It’s understood the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital’s director of infectious diseases Krispin Hajkowicz was one of a number of people interviewed for the top job.

Very interesting.

Krispin Hajkowicz had a Twitter account that’s now gone.

Thankfully through the wonders of the Internet you can still see it. And see gems such as these:

Looky here at what he retweeted back in February:

Just maybe this is why Australia doesn’t have all its vaccine eggs in the one basket. Some pretty dodgy stuff, if true.

What was the tweet about? This:

‘Held to ransom’: Pfizer plays hardball in Covid-19 vaccine negotiations with Latin American countries

Pfizer has been accused of “bullying” Latin American governments during negotiations to acquire its Covid-19 vaccine, and the company has asked some countries to put up sovereign assets, such as embassy buildings and military bases, as a guarantee against the cost of any future legal cases, according to an investigation by the U.K.-based Bureau of Investigative Journalism.

….

Pfizer asked to be indemnified against all civil claims and asked the ministry to put up sovereign assets as collateral, as well as create a guarantee fund with money deposited in a foreign bank account. In January, the ministry refused these terms, describing the clauses as “abusive.”

Although this had never been done before, the country’s Congress passed a new law in October allowing for it. However, Pfizer was not happy with the phrasing of the legislation, according to the official

Holy moly, Pfizer literally had countries passing laws, altering laws, was dictating new laws, and was demanding military bases and embassies as collateral for its stupid ‘jab’.

Will people start to comprehend the level of power and influence these companies wield? Apparently the possible CHO of QLD does (but is still a great big covid fag I bet)

This is brilliant thinking.

Except that it assumes that thousands upon thousands of pissed-off CFMEU blokes will do as they’re told. By Andrews, who just shut their sites.

And the CFMEU have a long history of compliance. For example, they have never ever, not once, converged on their own union office and wrecked it while hundreds of jacks watched, and who forced their terrified stewards to spray them with water from inside in the hope they’d get wet and cold.

Brilliant thinking, from the people who brought you red leather tunnel pizza children and multinational cyber-intelligence agencies teaming up to somehow stop a bored housewife from accessing material in the public domain.

Learning to shoot a longarm is one thing. Learning to shoot under stressful conditions something else.

But grieve for the Dash Cat- If Bird takes a liking to something, it tends not to stay intact or functional for long…

“I remember when I was a kid in Croatia, when we fought communism. We are staring down the barrel of communism again!”

Crowd goes wild, Setka and his cronies looks like a soy poisoned fags next to him.

So, Setka is a Croatian name, no?
Is this some sort of Dubrovnik/Zagreb/Split split, if you know what I am meanink?

Parliament will fall without a shot if we can take Setka’s House.

Change tactics for a bit. Predictability is not a friend. If the location is so important, divert attention

He’s not talking about his “house” house.
He is talking about his multi-million dollar holiday house down on the peninsula.
Not in his name, of course.
But his.
Oh, sorry.
Wasn’t I meant to … oops.

People must at some point realise that there will be no end to this. Nothing will be enough.

I’ve mentioned elsewhere that here in Qld, the Health Employment Directive (12/21) that mandates Covid-19 vaccination for all employees specifies that after the initial doses, employees must continue to receive any further (i.e. booster) injection that has been advised by (I forget the acronym of the relevant Fed Gov’t health entity) as desirable, in order to remain compliant with the Directive. There is no timeframe or quantitative guide mentioned; thus the demand for compliance with the Directive could continue indefinitely.

So QLD’s potential new “CHO”, was on video for 40 minutes talkin gabout COV19 “new normal” last year.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGuPB9Ukbj4

If you can stomach it.

He’s a typical Science!(tm) acolyte, but his brother, who is also in the video, is an arch-technocrat for the CSIRO, a literal bugman’s bugman.

Here his brother talks about “being able to track and monitor and know where people are” via data being “very beneficial” and outweighing the “privacy concerns”, which he regards as “holding back” science and technology.

Interestingly though, immediately after that, the prospective CHO, seems to rebuff his arch-bugman brother, explaining that privacy in infectious disease is critical and a perceived lack of it, or mandated testing, etc will drive people underground.

Hmmmmm. A weird dynamic.

Crikey, just re-watched Peyton Place, the movie. Not a black character to be seen and arguably the most trite, ridiculous courtroom scene ever put to celluloid. Pure mush.

Yeah, I didn’t think it sounded Croat, but he is listed among “famous Croatian Australians” on the Wiki-thingy.
Maybe his mother is the Croat.
Anyway, we’ll see.

BTW, Lizzie, how are we going on your claim of four hours of life-saving surgery?

Any updates on that sympathy-seeking load of rubbish?

FMD, the fixation is very strong in this one.

Does she expect me to produce my anaesthesia receipt?

Why does she care so much?

What a drongo.

How about you ask Zulu for his wife’s details in hospital too while you are at it?

I simply cannot believe some of these comments to the newsdotcomdotau story on the CFMEU protests against being injected with a drug against their wishes. This doesn’t even sound vaguely like the Australia I thought I knew!

These workers have the right to decide what goes into their bodies, without fear of losing their jobs. The mandate is in violation of article 51 of the constitution. The powers that be are making this up as they go along.

Here in lies the government problem. Don’t implement no jab no work for construction workers or others. Just start to support and encourage no jab – no cinemas – restaurants – no access to public transport – large shopping centers – no access to airline flights – take away venues – pubs – bars etc. Then Union or not – let those who do not elect to get the vaccine, sit at home eating what ever they can grow in their gardens. Don’t pander to these fools.

Why penalise the majority for the actions of a few ? We all have a duty of care for each other in our society, lately the actions of our government has me questioning if it really has the best interests of the people it governs ? Luckily we can make them accountable at the next state election vote everyone but the labour govt !!
