Australia Day still open for business, by choice

EXCLUSIVE
Helen Trinca
2 hours ago December 10, 2021

Professional services firm KPMG has given its 9000 employees the option to work on Australia Day and take another leave day in lieu, in a move that reflects growing public debate over the date of the national holiday.

The firm says it is not taking an “active position” on the issue but will keep its offices open for Indigenous and non-Indigenous staff who do not want to celebrate on January 26.

Its rivals, PwC and Deloitte, have similar “floating public holiday” policies in place to allow staff to swap public holidays for other days that better suit their culture, but KPMG national chair Alison Kitchen called out the Australia Day swap this week as the firm launched its latest Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to build inclusion for Indigenous Australians.

It is not known how many other organisations offer the swap but Reconciliation Australia chief executive Karen Mundine said on Friday that several organisations had looked at floating leave as part of their RAPs. She listed Intrepid Travel, the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation and Environmental Justice Australia as having introduced alternative leave for Australia Day.

Ms Kitchen said her firm was proud of its policy, introduced in July, but did not know how many employees would take the option to skip the Australia Day celebrations for a normal day at the office. “A lot of our Indigenous colleagues will come into the office on Australia Day” she said. “We haven’t taken an active position on Australia Day; we think we’re on a journey.”

The firm’s policy is not restricted to Australia Day but allows staff to exchange any public holiday “to celebrate cultural or religious days more relevant to their beliefs and traditions”.

When it was announced, KPMG cited the Queen’s Birthday, saying “people may wish to work on that day and instead take a floating public holiday on a day of significant celebration for them”.

The firm will run education sessions in the lead-up and a morning tea for those who come to work on Australia Day in a bid to build awareness. KPMG launched its first RAP in 2009 and is acknowledged as one of the leaders in the area.

Public Service Minister Ben Morton on Friday ruled out any changes to Australia Day arrangements for the federal public service.

“Australia Day is our national day and is rightly recognised by the Australian Public Service,” he said. “No other arrangements will be entered into. Celebrating Australia Day on 26 January should bring us together as a nation – one and free, as our anthem has it. It shouldn’t be divisive, but inclusive.”

Evidence will continue to be documented about the games played by the demrats re the 2020 election. The audits are ongoing and despite interference have turned up plenty of skullduggery, enough to change the outcome entirely if all states and large counties were properly run.

“After his defeat, he repeatedly claimed to have actually won in “a landslide”, arguing Mr Biden’s victory was due to widespread voter fraud.

Mr Trump’s claims were tested in court and went nowhere, with judges often berating the then-president’s lawyers for offering no credible evidence.”

Courts often refused to hear cases at all, and evidence is plentiful.

CHICAGO, IL—People are protesting in the streets today after human rights groups revealed Jussie Smollett will be forced to share a jail cell with his racist attackers.

“This is an outrage!” said Reverend Jesse Jackson. “Not only was Mr. Smollett attacked by hateful racist bigots who want to tear our country apart, but now he has to share a jail cell with them? This is cruel and unusual punishment. This is the kind of thing that happens in our white supremacist country. Send me money!”

Criminal justice watchdogs also revealed that in addition to sharing a cell with his attackers, he will have to share his toothbrush, his bunk bed, and clothes. They expressed worry that this may lead to Jussie Smollet suffering further racist and homophobic attacks from other attackers named Jussie Smollett while in prison.

When asked for comment, Jussie Smollet angrily yelled “This is MAGA country!” before punching himself in the face.

By way of update, 2 million doses of our vaccine have now been safely distributed through immunization centres in Iran.

If any one of those Iranians were to travel to Australia, the Australian Mongocracy would accept these individuals as being fully vaccinated. With a vaccine that was developed and manufactured in Australia, but which is effectively banned in Australia.

We’re going to need a Super Mong prison to house all these motherfuckers.

Evidence will continue to be documented about the games played by the demrats re the 2020 election.

But what are the Republicans going to do about it?

I mean, if they win the mid-terms and the next presidency then they need to use every bit of power the Democrats have used. Every Democrat voter must be given a syringe full of excrement (for “public health”) every single day if they want to be able to work, vote or eat.

That would of course be two syringes full of excrement for Democrats who work for the government.

And three syringes if they vote work for law enforcement or the military.

Four syringes if they’re a journalist.

Shut off all electricity to New England and California and only turn it back on once every ‘variant’ of communism has been defeated. This would be justified both for “global warming” and for “public health” because communism is infinitely more contagious and dangerous than covid and we can’t even allow one single person anywhere on the planet to hold such thoughts for so much as a second.

The real goal in the mid terms isn’t for the GOP to take the congress or senate.
It’s to sweep the board in the state houses in places that matter like AZ & PA so the horse shit that went on in 2020 won’t happen in 2024.
If the deep state aligned GOP cucks aren’t primaried out of office, there’s no point turning up in 2024.

Anchor What @6.33am referring to article on Jo Nova’s blog about Sa authorities doing everything they can to block Nicolas Petrovsky’s vaccine getting final approval.

After raising over $700,000 through crowd funding to finance the application for TGA approval & to finance the final clinical trial necessary in Australia, SA government is now denying an exemption from the clot shots to those who have signed up as volunteers for Petrovsky’s Covax19.

It is outrageous. This conventional protein based vax promises to be even safer and as effective as Novavax. It has already been given to 2 million Iranians with no reported ill effects.

Will the real story about the influences behind these decisions of government ever be revealed?

The story of the police officers attacking MOMEAAs is one of overreach and of course their head honcho would say they were acting within the law, especially when they’ve been allowed to think the NSW police are a law unto themselves, but sadly there actually the LAW.

In this scandemic the police force has been weaponised against the citizens it is supposed to serve. Looks like all those years and the Wood Royal Commission was a complete and utter waste of taxpayers’ money.

(POLL) Most worry about Covid-19 vaccine side effects

One of the comments under the item –

By now, most people probably have experienced these side effects themselves, know someone who has, or read about them in the news. The frenzy to mandate vaccination, punish the unvaccinated, and suppress/censor negative stories about the vaccines seems to parallel the slow seepage of the vaccines’ hazards into public awareness. The more people know about the hazards, the greater the pressure to force vaccination.

Here in Washington State, the State’s PSAs clearly target groups deemed to be vaccine skeptics: religious people (they hired a female Presbyterian minister for one ad), pregnant women (they hired one for an ad), blacks (they hired one for an ad), and parents with children – some ads feature children’s voices clambering to be vaccinated because of how cool it is.

“If residents of the city cannot participate equitably in the EV market, that would be a failure,” said Stefan Schaffer, a strategist for the American Cities Climate Challenge at the Natural Resources Defense Council. “You want to make sure all communities can participate in the economy of the future.”

It’s a question, he said, of “mobility justice.”

Bereft of ideas past “population Ponzi”

The Morrison government will steadily increase permanent migration back to about 160,000 a year to energise economic growth and address skills shortages, with the mid-year budget update to estimate net overseas migration to be 120,000 higher than expected over the next two years.
https://12ft.io/proxy?q=https://www.theaustralian.com.au%252Fnation%252Fpolitics%252Fmigrants-to-power-economy-in-myefo-update%252Fnews-story%252F23312cb67f74360a6e1890d3ec8ac8cd%26memtype%3Danonymous%26mode%3Dpremium

The Treasurer noted that the increase in permanent migration includes about 200,000 places for students*, tourists and skilled workers to return to Australia to address skills shortages previously announced.

“We have been very successful in managing our population in that we’ve been welcoming to refugees, focused on the needs of family reunion and skilled labour,” Mr Frydenberg said. “One of the great strengths of Australia is its multiculturalism, its diversity, and that has been provided by immigration.”**

https://12ft.io/proxy?q=https://www.theaustralian.com.au/inquirer/cruel-covid-regulations-killed-my-love-of-the-law/news-story/f98bcca9ecc41cc8335124811a668d12
My first line of defence for disrespecting many of the cruel and silly Covid laws rests on one fundamental premise: the democratic legitimacy of laws was dead, buried, cremated during Covid. At the state and federal levels, the country was run by unelected bureaucrats. It took until early October this year for a politician to say the bleeding obvious. “We’re the elected officials,” said newly installed NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet when explaining why he was opening the state, despite some health officials pushing for a longer lockdown.

Further damaging the legitimacy of law, restrictions were often enforced in a ham-fisted and arbitrary way. They still are. This week, when Rebel Wilson arrived in Australia for an awards night, she was not required to isolate for 72 hours, unlike everyone else. Special treatment for someone who reads a script to make a living. Just like those footy players, and their wives and girlfriends, who could cross the closed Queensland border.

But the double-vaccinated son of a dying woman was denied entry to care for his mum.

Listening to Johnny Rotten didn’t turn the teenage me into an anarchist, but Covid has turned my adult respect for the law into contempt.

Not the virus itself, of course. The wreckers are the leaders – meaning most politicians in this country – who used disproportionate powers to manage the virus for far too long.

I notice her qualification – tugging the forelock to “the virus”. But it’s a good start.

A while ago someone here compared us to “livestock”. I thought it was a bit OTT at the time. Not any more. Just listen to Morrison calling us “sheep” to be “got through the gate”.

Nor in QLD, although this week we’ve had a government minister (small business) urging essential businesses (which Bunnings is deemed to be) to “opt in” to the state’s vaccine passport system.

To his credit, the Woolworths CEO said they won’t be doing that as they believe the unvaxxed are entitled to enter their stores & buy their own groceries.

I am very cynical about the assumption that migration adds GDP. A poorly-targeted program creates more welfare class, more drains on the productive people’s taxes.
I am ambivalent about the university students. I find it typical that they fund the university sector by driving Uber, and allow the student to save something either to take home on ‘graduation’ or to build a family here as a moderately-skilled migrant if they get PR.
Little argument with the hard-working raising a family and minding their own business. Thats great.
But the university sector deserves none of their (or our) hard-earned; its become a giant exploitative parasite wasting our young people’s lives and exploiting their labour.
That image of a Wall Street firm as a vampire squid jamming its blood funnel into the throats of the citizens, is far truer of the higher education sector.

For over 30 years, progressives, myself included, promoted defunding the police, de-incarceration, and gun control.

The results are now clear, and increasingly undeniable: less policing, more crime, and a 10x increase in gun permits.

@ShellenbergerMD

According to LA County Sheriff Alejandro Villanueva, the department has received 8,105 concealed carry weapon applications and approved 2,102 of them since he took office in December 2018, compared to his predecessor having issued 194 permits in four years.

Look what’s going on.

As violence arrives in rich neighborhoods, and progressives deny crime wave, liberals are buying guns, organizing neighborhood watch committees, and mobilizing to get rid of progressive district attorneys
