Refused to show my (non existent) “papers” for the first time today and was asked to leave an eatery in Ballarat, they couldn’t even have us sit outside and my mate go inside to do the ordering and he is vaxxed.
That place is The Golden City Hotel who can go and fuck themselves.
A short walk away we found a nice little cafe who couldn’t give a shit and because of the shithole we now find ourselves existing in, they shall remain nameless.
Confirmed.
Children in tunnels is a bust.
I was reading some research today showing that pre natal visits in NSW during 2020 & 2021 were down 30% on the average of 2017 to 2019.
If that number is replicated across other OECD countries, I think that’s a number that should be factored into the stillbirth/miscarriage discussion.

Sancho,
My mate tells me there’s a fair bit of it in Ballarat.
You have a photo shopped green tick?
So you’re playing their game then?
Was Breyer just pushed from SCOTUS?
Playing whatever game I deem necessary.
Not subjugating myself to pressure from either side.
I have had one jab and still debating the second. Honest truth.
Here’s the thing.
I would bet London to a brick on at least three or four people on this site who are actually double-jabbed but presenting here as bwave hold-outs.
That ended well.

Looks like it.
It all points to getting the unqualified affirmative-action candidate confirmed prior to the mid-terms.
This is an undeniable & very tangible sign the deep state believes that the mid-terms will go very badly for them, as Breyer has given every impression of wanting to stay longer.

Still a little unsure MT.
Do you stand by ussr’s stunning revelations about children in pizza shop tunnels?
You aren’t vaxxed are you MT?
Surely not!
Yes, there is some. And all the concrete gun emplacements are interesting too. There’s also a nineteenth century metal lighthouse that looks like something out of Dr. Who.

Remember Telstra’s “Australia is Why” wall to wall media campaign in 2021?
Well that got memory-holed quick smart.
In 2022, there’s not a single mention of Australia Day on any of their social media channels, nor via the MSM, please correct me if I’m wrong.
It’s as if 26 January doesn’t exist any more for them, just like Labor & the Greens
No such silence from Telstra a decade ago. Good one, Andy Penn.
But how shall I fuck off, oh Great Cooling Tower Wizard?
It’s not … it’s not … Malcolm by any chance?

I sat and watched the show with the rest of the proles last night at the Opera House as my other half had scored free tickets.

Bread and circuses for the masses, yet I watched on, without a flitter of emotion of any kind as the performers did their thing…
I would recommend to all that you find a means of defending yourselves, if you do not already have one… the next 5-10 years are going to be very interesting…

Why can’t we just all get along?
Chap had an interesting speculation over on instapundit.
IF China and Russia had agreed to put the squeeze on the EU/US around the same time how would they prepare?
The Ukraine is a pretty large grain producer, id imagine China gets quite a bit of product from them.
If Russia was looking to disrupt supplies for at least one season then it might explain why China has stocked up big on fertiliser.
If Ukraine is rooted, us Aussies are off limits and they have a shot at the US over Taiwan then they are preparing for a bout of self sufficiency.
Is that complete tin foil hat?
Because it seems to have a touch of logic about it to me.
Is that different to a mong?
You are vaxxed, aren’t you MT?
You sneaky bugger, you!
idiot
Anyway, night all.
My mood is best described as foul. My aunt – a lady I would describe as remarkable – she would have made a damnfine Kitteh – went to God a couple of days ago. Her family is encountering all the fvking bureaucrats ever born in trying to organize a funeral……

Duncan,
Thanks for that link. Not seen that report before and will have to look to see if Qld does something similar. Clearly shows the old age ranges for the deaths. However last weekly report showing is for week ending 8 Jan. I got my stats from Daily Media reports on 16 Dec and today.
now now, play nice everyone. If, like me tonight, you’ve had far too much to drink to cope with the shitty reality we are currently dealing with, it may be time to take a break and rest.

Condolences, ZK2A.

All of mine died years ago, unforttunately.

Hi Tony.
How’s it goin’ dude?

Love Teh Paywallian storey on Andrew O’Keefe. The usual description of him shouting obscenities at journalists from inside the paddy wagon. Then we learn he sold his Bondi bungalow for $6m having bought it for $1.5.
How Sydney.
Geez.
Disappear for an hour or so, and all the bonhomie evaporates.
She was the last survivor of my family of that generation – thanks for your kind thoughts.

He bought it in 2007.
Probably re-mortgaged three times on jacked up valuation.
Split it with the ex.
And the Sydney Clinic ain’t cheap.
He’ll be in a caravan in ten years time.
So does Faulty.
But Faulty misses most things.
We are thinking of booking a cruise under sail for August 2023. Adriatic and Agean. Want to go see Corfu for a port of call, as I’ve just finished Gerard Durrell’s ‘Corfu Trilogy’. No stabilisers, of course, and the cabins (even the $35 k stateroom suite which we won’t be taking) look pretty ordinary. Much in the price depends on whether you are midships or not. Is it worth paying an extra $5k each just for a slightly better (less bumpy) position on the same deck? Tossing it up. How much does it really matter to us?
Good thing I am an excellent sailor. Will position myself in the library for the journey anyway to avoid the drear of the cabins. Sitting under the billowing sails re-reading a Jack Aubrey tale would be good too.
If organising a funeral in WA at the moment is anywhere near organising one in Vic six months ago, it would appear to be shit.
Covered in more shit, basted in shit, baked in shit and served with more shit.

Your reading comprehension skills are poor. I wrote “I’ll just tell you to go fuck yourself and ignore you.” So the sequence goes:
1. Go fuck yourself
2. Now I ignore you
Faulty did deliver an excellent blister to Bird over at the Furniture Store earlier.

Do they have a TV? I ask Hairy as we inspect pics of the cabins.
TV? You ask for a TV on a trip of great adventure and you ask for TV?
Well, yes, I did just wonder about a TV. They don’t say and I can’t see one.
I think I might just have ruined the romance of the trip, but I am a practical sort.
I like to know in advance of any disappointments.
God, I miss Harbijan Singe too.

Neil Young Forces Spotify to Choose Between Him and Joe Rogan. Spotify Chooses Rogan
“Singer Neil Young, greatly, greatly overestimating his relevance and clout, demanded that Spotify either drop Joe Rogan or drop him.
Spotify thought about this for five minutes — four minutes and fifty six seconds were taken up trying to figure out who Neil Young was (He’s not an astronaut, is he?) — and then decided, “Uh, yeah. Okay, bye-bye then.”…”
“It’s better to burn out, than to fade away.” Bwahaha.

I have listened to probably 2/3 (it is 4hr 13 mins) of the Joe Rogan interview with Jordan Peterson podcast. Jordan is an interesting and very smart guy but I found it quite boring and only kept going as thought might get onto an interesting topic like Covid restrictions and mass psychosis or even Trudeau. Probably too deep for me and Jordan comes across as somebody who has so many things in his head he wants to get them out. Ended up fast forwarding to see if anything of interest.
Ok if you are a shrink but I found it to be one of the worst interviews Rogan has done. My English comprehension and education pretty good but I found some of his themes a bit too deep and some sentences almost gobbledygook.
Both my adult kids like Jordan but I would not recommend they listen as they would not thank me after listening.
Anybody else have thoughts ?
Qld held a state election in late 2020, and a local govt election. The sky didn’t fall.
WA held a state election without the sky falling (except for the Liberal party). NSW just held a local govt election (albeit apparently with some hitches caused by trying to be too clever?) Didn’t Tasmania also hold a state election mid-coved panic? The island didn’t sink or float away.
Given that, if the AEC cannot organise themselves to hold a federal election on behalf of the people of this wide, brown and occasionally green land, they’re not worth feeding.
Frankly, I’m sick and tired of government employees, public servants, who consider themselves unable, unready or unwilling to do the job they’re paid very well – by us – to do for us and on our behalf. Enough! They can get off their collective arses and make it work. And they can do it without whinging.
Rant over. Not in a mood tonight to be stuffed around by any bureaucrat, public servant or politician. Or “expert”, for that matter.
Criticising the AEC is like putting your empty stubbies in Skippy’s pouch. UnAustralian.
I’ll deal with your opening lie because it also covers the rest of your dribble.
Today there was more fresh news of large Child & Baby Raping Networks being busted.
Whenever such news is posted here the usual suspects totally ignore the substance of the news and bash the poster with, “Pizza”, a meme they know was constructed to blow cover smoke Paedophile Networks.
And here you are again, you multi named cowardly bully, blowing “Pizza” Cover Smoke for those busted BABY RAPERS like your life depends on it, when you could have responded like a normal person with something like, “Hell, what evil bastards. I hope the Justice system they’re facing doesn’t, ‘do a Rotherham’, for them.”, or, you could even just keep your mouth shut, but nah, you and others always have to laugh off those sadistic crimes & shoot the messenger.
There is nothing sinister in countries that require people to be ‘fully vaccinated’ to enter insisting that if your last shot was more than x number of days ago you can’t come in.
After all the huffing and puffing about how the vaccines wane in efficacy over time, it would be bizarre if they didn’t insist your vaccinations are up to date.
The EU might be banning Australians for now because of of our high infection rate but some individual member states are allowing fully vaccinated Australians in.
You just have to check, Italy continues to welcome the fully vaccinated 🙂
As for ending international travel for ordinary people.
No, ludicrous, Spain and Italy for example are extremely reliant on ordinary international tourism and France ski resorts were going spare about UK tourists of the shop assistants from Manchester variety not being allowed in (a decision quickly reversed).
Not to mention all the international airlines, every single one of which I’m fairly confident would go broke without economy class passengers.
I’m here in Corsica out of tourist season, January is when tourism services providers take their holidays, although Rome, which is always busy, was very busy.
And entering Italy, then France were a big zero in terms of difficulty.

Magnificent views of the Corsican coast and a couple of small islands.
I was very fortunate to see two large dolphins at the lookout point.
There is an easy walk and a difficult walk, I started back on the difficult walk but it was ‘step’ narrow and sometimes on the very edge of the cliff overhanging the sea so I opted for the goat tracks away from the sea instead..

We don’t hear much about it, but every time I see it it blows my mind. There are actual people up there, “sitting in a tin can, far above the world.”
I know that the bean counters keep trying to shut it down, but I’m glad they haven’t succeeded. Apart from scientific data, it must be an excellent live lab for figuring out the realities of humans spending long periods in a tin can, both physically and mentally.
In these rather bleak times, it is a symbol of human aspiration.

Hilarious about the stovetop gas leaks. I have been looking out for the media facts and figures about the Tongan volcano – how much carbon dioxide released (if any) , toxic gases, tons of particulate matter in the upper atmosphere darkening the skies and cooling the planet etc etc. I did notice a short report prior to the volcano eruption describing some research that indicated particulate matter seems to lead to lightning strikes. If so, look out for excess lightning in the next few years. On the whole however media seems to be totally incurious about after effects of the Tongan volcano, which seemed to me to be a massive natural phenomena.

Like EVs, it isn’t the initial cost that’s prohibitive (although they are ridiculously expensive and that might just give a prospective purchaser pause in choosing one.
Here’s the for:
Fast and efficient
Here’s the against:
Expensive to buy
Require a smaller hole to be cut in the benchtop* (I will get to this later)
Extremely expensive to repair (as in you may as well buy a new one)
Technicians rarely if ever carry spares, so parts take forever to order and land
Any fault means the entire thing is useless, not just one burner
I had a SOTA induction that went bung after 5 years. The spare to fix it cost almost as much as a new top. I decided to go conventional electric on the advice of the techie. So… the hole in the benchtop had to be enlarged to take it at considerable inconvenience (not cost).
My advice – do not buy.
But probably the second guy after three Woodstock cans.
Ooooh.

Sweden decides against recommending COVID vaccines for kids aged 5-12.
STOCKHOLM, Jan 27 (Reuters) – Sweden has decided against recommending COVID vaccines for kids aged 5-11, the Health Agency said on Thursday, arguing that the benefits did not outweigh the risks.
“With the knowledge we have today, with a low risk for serious disease for kids, we don’t see any clear benefit with vaccinating them,” Health Agency official Britta Bjorkholm told a news conference.

Calli,
for me, that is the big one. I do a lot of preserving and glass cooktops, whether normal or induction, are a big no no. They cannot handle the weight of huge preserving pans and pressure canners. Totally useless.
I also prefer the control of gas. / rant over.
100% accurate assessment thank you calli
If you do preserving in the enormous boilers, you can get a big ring burner that you set on the ground, connect to the gas outlet and operate that way.
It’s also safer to lift up rather than down when you’re dealing with boiling water.

Because they are a civil order, the civil standard of proof – the balance of probabilities – applies instead of the more onerous criminal standard, which is beyond a reasonable doubt.
In practice, this means that people with real or imagined axes to grind against their hubby/wife/BF/GF etc can apply for one of these, turn up to court, and have an order of this type issued as long as their story is a) plausible, and b) difficult to immediately refute.
The penalties are (or were) designed to be added onto original offences. For example – an order says no contact by electronic or personal means. A single text sent by a person subject to an order then becomes an offence of using a carriage service (the phone network) to menace, harass or offend, as well as a breach of that order.
Repeated texts intended to terrify the victim becomes stalking, as well as a breach.
Unfortunately, years of falsely ground axes meant that the conditions of said orders became largely for show, and also that the penalties started to be imposed concurrently, rather than on top of any sentencing for the standalone offences.
Those years of vindictive and later proven false accusations against blokes who have separated from, or otherwise annoyed their other halves have therefore resulted in people like O’Keeffe getting wet-lettuced.
The dying media us breathing deeply on the Bullshit Ventilator-tge following is a comment from a non-complying friend: One wonders how different Australia would look and feel if the mainstream media reported the facts about Covid, such as the fact that people under-50 account for more than three quarters (78.91 per cent) of all cases in Australia but have a case fatality rate of only 0.04 per cent. Although clearly tragic, there have been 3,140 deaths associated with Covid-19 in Australia, to date, and 1,176 were aged-care residents (mostly in Victoria). In fact, aged-care cases account for less than two per cent of all cases, but almost half of all deaths, according to the government’s Covid-19 data. If more people knew this, would they still be afraid?
The pictures painted by the data and by legacy media journalists are vastly different. The data reveals a virus that many catch but which kills only the most vulnerable, the sick, and the elderly. The legacy media outlets continue to report daily case numbers, an irrelevant statistic, thus keeping many people perpetually anxious (and this after 90 per cent of the population is double-vaccinated). When will it end? Only when we stop paying attention to daily case numbers.
Today’s saints:
St Peter Nolasco – who set up an order that dedicated themselves to rescuing Christians taken by muslims to be slaves. St Peter Nolasco ransomed himself – as did others – in exchange for the releases of hundreds of Christian slaves. Ora pro nobis.
St Agnes – 12 year old martyr, we commemorate her birthday today. (Her dies natalis was 21 Jan).

The Craven A, along with the Viscount and to a lesser degree the Escort were quality acts.
Not so much the Black and Whites. A slight zephyr when indulging in one of those outdoors meant it would turn to cinders in seconds.
It hardly needs to be said that Winfield Blues were the gold standard.
“F..k off, get rid of these f..king journalists, you douchebags,” he yelled.

I hope a cop said to him “No deal”…
I think your synapses need renewal. Or perhaps you just enjoy living in a borg world.
I like this quote:
It pays to reflect on that, and ask yourself the question.

Nothing beats B&H for a smoke.
I did eventually, cold turkey.
It’s a missed opportunity for O’Keeffe.
If he had any match awareness he would have been dressed in womens’ clothes, complete with poorly-applied makeup when the jacks turned up, a la Dean Laidley.
Then he would have got a free pass to marquees at the races.
Oh man. I yield.
Where do Horizons rate?
It’s selective wet lettucing, though.
The ones the media “like” get a free pass, the ones in the cross hairs do not. Many, many men have been the victim of false accusations, either for sh*ts and giggles or in custody/asset battles.
It all sheets back to the idiotic and malignant “no fault” divorce laws.

Can you please set up a designated smoking area?
Lezzoball was always going to present difficulties for the informal tabbouleh sector. Hopefully it won’t interrupt Gillon Portsea-Polo’s holidays.

Hey Bush
Have you checked out the bids on the auction of Corinella gear at Richies?
We had a go at the compressors but the silly buggers are paying near new price.
You mean like victorians loving doing whatever the hunchback twit tells them to do?

On a scale comparative to quiz show hosts – Magda Szubanski.
It reminds me of a doco where a sensible woman said – how come these guys don’t throw a few punches at the guy next to them at the pub? Why do they always wait until they get home?
Now, we know that sometimes they do throw punches at the guy next to them at the pub, but we also know that many of them are polite at the pub and save it for the wife and kids at home. It is a more intense version of what I have seen many a time – Dad comes home from work and his first words are “Why are those bikes on the lawn? I’ve told them a thousand times to bring them in” followed by “what’s that dog doing in here? Put it outside!”
Welcome home, Dad. I’ve seen this in mild mannered and otherwise devoted fathers and husbands, over and over. There first words and reactions are angry ones. Do they feel that they are storming the citadel, or what?

Their. sheesh.
The problem with all of those beautifully aromatic pipe tobaccos was that the smelt much better for bystanders than they tasted for the smoker.
It hardly needs to be said that Winfield Blues were the gold standard.
They still are.
Silence – not initially Cassie.
Short, factual reporting only with no judgements being bandied around. Just for a day and then completely drop the story for the silence to begin.
PS the Daily Mail’s reporting includes this gem: It has been estimated that between 75 and 80 per cent of the AFLW competition identify as being LGBTQI. Colour me surprised.
There is a tweet Dover linked to on this page.
One guy is saying that she has no basis for objecting because it is supposed to be inclusive. But she is not objecting to gay people playing (she would know there are plenty) but to the Pride series – another word that, like ‘gay’ before it, has been pressed into service to reshape people’s response to pooh-jabbing and rug-munching.
The Pride series is about promoting gays. And it is not just in the abstract but it is also tied to a whole political agenda. There is much that a person of conscience might object to.
But if they have the Pride thing going on, and punish people who do not go along with it, then what does it celebrate? It is really the AWFL foisting a policy upon people, with no recourse or room for conscience, and to be trying to force people into an opinion (if not sincerely held then they must act it – the AWFL owns its fans and players and they must comply.)
Another person posited that there were gay Muslims. Forgetting for the moment that this player had not raised any objections to gay Muslims, just the Pride thing, he seems to be saying that if another person who calls themselves Muslim accepts one interpretation (that being gay is consistent with Islam) then it is also binding on everyone else.
Does that make sense? That each other adherent’s understanding of your beliefs override your own understanding. And why don’t gay Muslims have to defer to the understanding (the prohibition of homosexuality) that others hold.
If Catholics discover that there is a Catholic out there who has beaten his wife, do they have to accept that it is OK for them to do it?
Of course, this particular guy is most like a progressive, and there is only one way of thinking permitted, and it is progressive. If you are a Muslim, or a Catholic, or a Hindu*, you are nevertheless required to be progressive first. You can have your religion in the little corners where left wing thought has not crept into yet. You can go to Mass on Sunday and get a wafer on your tongue, but you cannot go outside and say you consider adultery is wrong – it might offend adulterers.
Eventually progressives with feel the need to adjudicate on whether communion hosts are permitted according to their rigid and unbending pieties.

Biden and Justice Stephen Breyer are expected to hold an event at the White House Thursday to formally announce Breyer’s plans to retire, according to a person briefed on the planning who was not authorized to publicly discuss it in advance.
Early discussions about a successor are focusing on U.S. Circuit Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, U.S. District Judge J. Michelle Childs and California Supreme Court Justice Leondra Kruger, according to four people familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss White House deliberations. Jackson and Kruger have long been seen as possible nominees.
