Carbon nanotubes in a dish assemble themselves into a nanowire in seconds under the influence of a custom-built Tesla coil created by scientists at Rice University.

But the scientists don’t limit their aspirations for the phenomenon they call Teslaphoresis to simple nanowires.

The team led by Rice research scientist Paul Cherukuri sees its invention as setting a path toward the assembly of matter from the bottom up on nano and macro scales.

There are even hints of a tractor beam effect in watching an assembled nanowire being pulled toward the coil.

Scotty intentionally botched the Vaccine rollout, saving an uncountable number of lives.

This is utter tripe. I will never forget him saying early on that every must be vaccinated, and then having to walk it back a bit when someone must have pointed out to him that this was slightly beyond his authority. He wants every last one of us to be injected and I don’t believe the “hopeless and helpless” line. I think he’s doing exactly what his masters want quite effectively, while blaming it on the states, who could not have done any of it without his tacit approval.

Western liberals (like Albanese, although he’s small beer) need to keep their animus against Putin in check. It may make them feel righteous but it distorts the importance of Russia on the international stage and thus heightens the potential for conflict.

There are reasons that the MSM feels free to dismiss protests about vaccine mandates as the work of misinformed, swivel-eyed loons.

My point was, they kept repeating “false positives for HIV” but, do you actually believe them? How do they know? How come they never mention the PCR false positives, and useless results from too many revolutions, for Covid? They were playing with fire and all the MSM does is excuse them.

Sounds like Ruddspeak for relaxing border security.

If the Government was smart they would be running hard on inconsistent words like this, I see Dutton is already running the ALP China friendly line. These are 2 issues that could close the gap with Albo. It is a topic that has come up recently when the conversation turns to the coming election that the ALP will be soft of borders, no one seems to believe Albo’s rhetoric about lower immigration or trusts the ALP on China.

Putin is an unsavoury character but he’s not Hitler and Ukraine is not Poland;

That’s not quite right.
The Great War was ended by an Armistice between the combatants.
Germany lost it’s overseas Empire but it’s European Empire remained intact.
However. there was a political collapse in Germany in early 1919 and the Entente Cordiale illegally seized the opportunity to dismember the German Empire in Europe.
So Countries like Czechoslovakia, which had never previously existed, was created out of German Territory.
Poland hadn’t existed for centuries, either has Lithuania and Latvia and Estonia had never existed.
The new Countries then started persecuting and murdering their German minorities.
The same has been happening in the Donbass.
Russians are being persecuted and murdered and while Putin has stayed out of it, sooner or later there is likely to be a bloodbath.

… in fact it’s little better & perhaps worse than Russia in terms of corruption and human rights abuses.

Who cares?
Is it any of Australia’s business?

On the sad state of US schools…

Inside the woke indoctrination machine
ANDREW GUTMANN and PAUL ROSSI

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

Last year we exposed how two elite independent schools in New York had become corrupted by a divisive obsession with race, helping start the national movement against critical race theory.

Schools apply this theory under the guise of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programming. Until now, however, neither of us fully grasped the dangers of this ideology or the true motives of its practitioners.

The goal of DEI isn’t only to teach students about slavery or encourage courageous conversations about race, it is to transform schools totally and reshape society radically.

Over the past month we have watched nearly 100 hours of leaked videos from 108 workshops held virtually last year for the US National Association of Independent Schools’ People of Color Conference.

The NAIS sets standards for more than 1600 independent schools in the US, driving their missions and influencing many school policies.

The conference is NAIS’s flagship annual event for disseminating DEI practices, and more than 6000 DEI practitioners, educators and administrators attended this year. Intended as professional development and not meant for the public, these workshops are honest, transparent and unfiltered — very different from how private schools typically communicate DEI initiatives. These leaked videos act as a Rosetta Stone for deciphering the DEI playbook.

The path to remake schools begins with the word “diversity”, which means much more than simply increasing the number of students and faculty of colour — referred to in these workshops as “Bipoc,” which stands for “black, indigenous and people of colour.” DEI experts urge schools to classify people by identities such as race, convince them that they are being harmed by their environment, and turn them into fervent advocates for institutional change.

In workshops such as “Integrating Healing-Centred Engagements Into a DEIA School Program” and “Racial Trauma and the Path Toward Healing”, we learned how DEI practitioners use segregated affinity groups and practices such as healing circles to inculcate feelings of trauma. Even students without grievances are trained to see themselves as victims of the their ancestors’ suffering through “intergenerational violence.”

The next step in a school’s transformation is “inclusion”. Schools must integrate DEI work into every aspect of the school and every facet of the curriculum must be evaluated through an antibias, antiracist, or antioppressive lens. In “Let’s Talk About It! Anti-Oppressive Unit and Lesson Plan Design”, we learned that the omission of this lens — “failing to explore the intersection of STEM and social justice”, for instance — constitutes an act of “curriculum violence.”

All school messaging must be scrubbed of noninclusive language, all school policies of noninclusive practices, all libraries of noninclusive books. Inclusion also requires that all non-Bipoc stakeholders become allies in the fight against the systemic harm being perpetuated by the institution. In “Small Activists, Big Impact — Cultivating Anti-Racists and Activists in Kindergarten”, we were told that “kindergartners are natural social-justice warriors”.

It isn’t enough for a school to be inclusive; it also must foster “belonging”. Belonging means that a school must be a “safe space” — code for prohibiting any speech or activity, regardless of intent, that a Bipoc student or faculty member might perceive as harmful, as uncomfortable or as questioning their “lived experience”. The primary tool for suppressing speech is to create a fear of microaggressions.

In “Feeding Yourself When You Are Fed Up: Connecting Resilience and DEI Work”, we learned techniques, such as “calling out”, that faculty and students can use to shut down conversations immediately by interrupting speakers and letting them know that their words and actions are unacceptable and won’t be tolerated.

Several workshops focused on the practice of “restorative justice,” used to re-educate students who fall afoul of speech codes. The final step to ensure belonging is to push out families or faculty who question DEI work. “Sometimes you gotta say, maybe this is not the right school for you. … I’ve said that a lot this year,” said Victor Shin, an assistant head of school and co-chairman of the People of Color Conference, in “From Pawns to Controlling the Board: Seeing BIPOC Students as Power Players in Student Programming”.

With the implementation of diversity, inclusion and belonging, schools can begin to address the primary objectives of DEI work: equity and justice. NAIS obligates all member schools to commit to these aims in their mission statements or defining documents.

Equity requires dismantling all systems that Bipoc members of the community believe to cause harm. Justice is the final stage of social transformation to “collective liberation”. The goal is to remake society into a collective, stripped of individualism and rife with reparations.

In sessions such as “Traversing the Long and Thorny Road Toward Equity in Our Schools”, “Moving the Needle Toward Meaningful Institutional Change”, “Building an Equitable and Liberating Mindset” and “Breaking the White Centred Cycle”, we learned that the only way to achieve equity and justice is to eradicate all aspects of white-supremacy culture from “predominantly white institutions”, or PWIs, as NAIS calls its member schools, irrespective of the diversity of a school’s students.

Perfectionism, punctuality, urgency, niceness, worship of the written word, progress, objectivity, rigour, individualism, capitalism and liberalism are some of the characteristics of white-supremacy culture in need of elimination.

In “Post-PoCC Return to PWI Normal,” DEI practitioner Maria Graciela Alcid summarised: “Decolonising white-supremacy-culture thinking is the ongoing act of deconstructing, dismantling, disrupting those colonial ideologies and the superiority of Western thought.”

DEI was “another thing to put on the plate, and absolutely now, it is the plate on which everything sits” said teacher Gina Favre, describing her school’s transformation.

No longer are private schools focused primarily on teaching critical thinking, fostering intellectual curiosity, and rewarding independent thought.

Their new mission is to train a vanguard of activists to lead the charge in tearing down the foundations of society, reminiscent of Maoist China’s Red Guards.

The danger, however, goes far beyond private schools.

The same framework called diversity, inclusion, belonging, equity and justice has gained influence in public education, universities, corporate workplaces, the federal government and the military. For the sake of our children and our nation’s future, it must be dismantled.

Andrew Gutmann is founder of Speak Up for Education and a co-host of the podcast Take Back Our Schools. Paul Rossi is a contributor to Legal Insurrection and co-host of Chalkboard Heresy, a channel for dissidents in education.

Precisely. Its last gasp was breathed in 1914. And anyone who survived that cataclysm is long dead. It only lives on in books – the dangerous ones they are desperate to remove from school curricula.

We are even leaving Eliot’s world of the Hollow Men. At least they could be recognised and right from wrong articulated.

Pseudoscience doesn’t even seem to cut it because it’s completely made up to destroy everything that exists for the creation of a utopia that they can’t define. Which means that all it will ever achieve is destruction and dictators that will make Stalin and Mao look like boy scouts. They cannot control this beast they are creating.

We get them in our suburb, but its maybe 15 years since we saw one in the yard.

I think if you live anywhere on the east coast, including the suburbs, you can assume you are sharing the place with an eastern brown or two. I’m no expert, but I’ve been assured by someone who is that they’re as wary of us as we are of them. The danger with cats, of course, is that they are inquisitive and don’t know what they are playing with. We’re situated next to open woodland with a creek bed nearby that becomes a network waterholes when its not raining so we keep the yard clean as a precaution. I think this one was just passing by and took a wrong turn. I said to my son it was only a juvenile, anyway, to which he reassuringly responded, “That means there’s a big mother out there somewhere”. Which reminds me, I haven’t checked the wood shed yet.

Weird how they recognise each other? Maybe like foxes and hounds?

Now of course if I was a cop I would be throwing tickets at everyone involved and if I was a magistrate, I’d be automatically siding with the cops because why have a judicial commission when you can be a rubber stamp?

Wow! Just reviewed that footage, Cassie. I sure hope that dreadful woman attacker is charged.

We didn’t encounter anything like that. Most people (with ACT number plates) were tooting in approval at cars with flags etc.

Interesting, however, that the attacker called the lady “a bogan”. It shows that such prejudice is still alive and well in Australia. As I have said from our observations at the rally, there were enormous numbers of ordinary families proudly displaying their Aussie flags and other paraphernalia. I was also surprised to see so many smoking cigarettes ….had not seen this since my own dear chain-smoking mother died (at 84 & still smoking!).

But, by God, these were clear minded people who are not deceived by sharp talking medical bureaucrats and brain dead pollies and journos.

What are leaders for, in that case?

Well, what they have become in the supposedly Western liberal democracies are front men providing, promulgating and perpetuating an illusion to the populace that they the people rather than organised crime (as we have seen with the plandemic) have an ultimate say every three years.

Why have elections if the fiefdoms of the public service have control and are allowed to stay in control?

Klaus and his minions would like people to think that way. It’s good those new gaols were built in NSW. I’m sure the clients on long taxpayer funded holidays would appreciate a new hotel. Plenty of space will be required in the not too distant future to accommodate, for example, current NSW Health employees in the old ones.

Perhaps we should all just concede now; it’ll save us all a lot of time and money.

Resign to some kind of figurative, metaphorical perhaps literal lobotomy from under use ( as does seem the MSM’s aim) to become the hive of obedient insects so desired by those presently topping the pyrmaid? Not me!

The world that gave us Churchill is no more.

They’re still around, but now on the side of the wet establishment.

‘Would have sacked me too!’ Churchill’s grandson backs own removal over Brexit rebellion (12 Feb)

Sir Nicholas Soames was one of 21 Conservative MPs who rejected Boris Johnson’s proposed Brexit agreement and saw their party voting rights removed. Sir Nicholas insisted he saw Brexit as the wrong move for the UK and still stood by his decision to vote against Mr Johnson’s deal. However, he conceded the Prime Minister was right to take action against him as he conceded he too would have “sacked” himself.

Speaking to GB News, Sir Nicholas said: “If I was the Prime Minister, I would’ve sacked me too because you cannot have people in your party who would not support the most important piece of legislation.

Fun that grandad fought against the Germans while grandson fought for them.

NATO has been looking for a conflict and poking Russia in one way or another for decades. A yuuuge portion of Russia’s trade is with Europe, which provides massive support to Russia’s economy. No way Russia will actively seek to confront it’s biggest customers militarily but she will defend her interests. Ukraine sucking up to NATO on Russia’s doorstep is a legit concern. So what I’m seeing again is NATO shit stirring in Europe to enlarge it’s budgets and influence.

Karen once drove into the back of my car because I was reversing so automatically at fault.

She got out of her car and told me I was paying for it. I let her go on her way and reviewed the incident and the rules on the then RTA website.

She crossed double lines to hit me.

Oops.

My insurer said to just pay for my own damage and she will be paying her own. Except Karen destroyed the front of her car while mine had a mere crack in the bumper of which I could fix myself for next to nothing.

My only regret is not being a fly on the wall when she got the completely unexpected bad news from her insurer. The screaming would’ve been epic.

The west is collapsing, it’s lazy, it’s socially, morally and intellectually bankrupt, it lacks strong leadership and crucially, the west has no faith in the future. Putin now basically holds much of Europe to ransom….countries such as Germany have trashed their energy grids and thus are now dependent on Russia for gas…all because they’ve joined up to the cult of climate change. So you pay about 12.5c to get 10c back…

I will quibble on the Religious zeal though, that was the exact words used a by a productivity commission report into banning plastic bags in 2005(?), 2006(?). I’ll look for it if Goolag hasn’t memory holed it.

Unless the QR has a numeric identity like the bar code, there may be some problems if it becomes smudged or damaged in some way. I don’t see it being much use for perishables or on boxed goods – too easy to damage and make it unreadable.

Maybe, but that’d require changing all their price scanners to recognise both systems just in case a supplier has issues with their barcoding devices. Colesworths would just tell them to get it right or don’t bother.
Apparently, the QR code thingy can hold a lot more info than the barcode.

Recall this? The cop shot the dude in cold blood. It was basically a murder

Shooting of Daniel Shaver

Brailsford’s trial for second-degree murder was originally scheduled for February 2017. A defense motion challenging the state’s probable cause to send the case to trial; appeals to the Arizona Supreme Court over the release of controversially redacted footage from Brailsford’s body camera made a February trial unrealistic. On February 10, 2017, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge George Foster rescheduled the trial for October 23, 2017. Brailsford faced up to 25 years in prison if found guilty of second-degree murder.

On December 7, 2017, after a six-week trial, a jury acquitted Brailsford of all charges.[10][12]

Also in December 2017, it was revealed that Brailsford had been involved in a prior incident in 2015 regarding an arrest of teenagers in a store. During the arrest, Brailsford was recorded on video throwing a teenager against a shelf, putting the teenager in a headlock, then slamming the teenager onto the ground. At the time, the incident was publicized (but Brailsford was not named) by a witness to the arrest, who alleged excessive force because the teenagers “weren’t doing anything”. A spokesman for the Mesa Police Department said that the department “looked at” the incident and “administratively cleared” Brailsford, because “police work sometimes isn’t pretty”.[34][35]
Department of Justice investigation

In March 2018, it became known that the United States Department of Justice had reopened the case and was looking into a possible civil rights violation by Brailsford.[9]
Bankruptcy and pension

In January 2018, Brailsford filed for bankruptcy. According to a pay stub attached to Brailsford’s bankruptcy file, he has been working for a steel company in Glendale, Arizona.[36]

In August 2018, Brailsford was reinstated by the Mesa Police Department, staying for a further 42 days in what the department described as a “budget position”. The department agreed to reimburse Brailsford for medical expenses related to post-traumatic stress disorder suffered due to his shooting of Shaver and the resultant criminal trial. The reinstatement allowed Brailsford to apply for “accidental disability” suffered during the course of work. As a result, Brailsford was unanimously approved to be retired on medical grounds. Brailsford was also given a pension of $2,500 per month. The fact that Brailsford was ultimately medically retired instead of remaining fired was only revealed to the public in J
In 2021, Shaver’s parents settled with the city for $1.5 million. Shaver’s common-law widow, seeking $75 million, refused to settle and may press for a trial

The piece of shit was rehired so he could claim a pension. FMD.

depending on the size, quite a lot of info can be encoded into a QR.

your phone software reads the protocol and could conceivably ID you personally as well.
IEMI number of the phone for instance
or liaise with your carrier

trivial for the phone to append your data and make a query to a server somewhere that responds with aspecially tailored response … just for you.

maybe the back-end server does some further chit-chat with some regulatory database before
setting you price today
or giving you a green or red tick.
or calling the cops

the only thing standing in the way right now would be the political will.

Eating white bread is racism.

PM’s comments about white bread seen as a ‘manifestation of white privilege and patriarchy’ (13 Feb)

Sky News host Rowan Dean says Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s comment about liking white bread was a “confronting manifestation of white privilege and patriarchy” for Professor Nareen Young.

This comes after Prime Minister Scott Morrison said during his appearance on Sunrise that he likes “normal white bread”.

“That exchange was about as innocuous as you can get – or so you would think. But to academic Nareen Young, a professor of Indigenous Policy at the University of Technology in Sydney, it was a confronting manifestation of white privilege and patriarchy,” Mr Dean said.

Professor Young on her The Drum appearance said she thought the white bread comment showed “a deep lack of understanding as to who works in this country” and “a deep intersection of race and class”.

I would’ve thought eating brown bread was worse.

“Why do we want the East Europeans and Russians closer to the West? It would be far better to have the Eastern Europeans under Hungarian/ Polish influence forming their own bloc, and the Russians their own. ‘The West’, currently, is a shit show. All it does is promote all manner of depravity, internationally, when it should be concentrating on their internal problems, whether cultural, social, or economic. I’d prefer not to poison these polities with Western maladies while also treating the poison locally.”

Quite so DB. Eastern European countries such as Poland and Hungary should create their own bloc.
They’re already subject to intense pressure from the putrid EU…..the EU are trying to force countries such as Poland and Hungary to adopt LGBTQARSE policies, which both countries firmly reject. The EU is also trying to force eastern European countries to take in more migrants, specifically migrants who practice a religion antithetical to Christianity. These countries have recent experience in totalitarianism, they don’t want it again. I think their rush to join the EU in the 1990s and early 2000s stemmed from their historical enmity to Tsarist Russia (particularly in Poland) and the Soviet Union. People in eastern Europe have long memories (hence their hostility to a certain religion because for centuries they were under the yolk of the Ottomans). But the EU has morphed into a sinister, corrupt and very bloated leviathan…that is sinking a morally, socially and economically depraved western Europe.
