Bolt is infuriating: he announces on his program tonight that scomo has gone too far in saying rub and tug is the chunk’s preferred candidate along with the rest of the liars and, according to bolt, implying rub and tug is a traitor and marles the Manchurian Candidate (bolt’s words). And then that fat faced fool andrew clennell comes on and agrees with the fucking fuddy duddy.

Bolt personifies what is wrong with conservatism: bowties, tut tuts and stiff upper lips while the left rant and act like crazed ferrets. The main problem with scomo is like other conservative leaders, he has not gone on attack and played fire with fire against the lying fuckers in the liars and the filth. Now that he is showing a bit of ticker he will cop it from not only the liars but also the conservative commentariat.

Bolt did the same with Milo by getting sniffy about Milo’s bad language and completely disavowed Milo’s powerful message about the left. Bolt is a fucking prim and proper cuck.

I think they’re called beach cruisers or fat bikes. 29r tyres are mountain bike versions of road/700c tyres. They ride over bumps nicer than a typical mountain bike 26 inch tyre. I bought my wife a 27.5 inch tyred mountain bike which is a nice in between tyre.

Last Tuesday, Senator Malcolm Roberts (PHON QLD) and Senator Alex Antic (LIB SA) separately questioned AFP Commissioner Reece Kershaw about the presence and possible use of LRAD devices at the Canberra protest on Saturday.

I watched a video of that interview this morning, can’t find it now. Senator Roberts also asked Commissioner Kershaw if the LRAD devices were turned on, Kershaw took that question on notice.

I took AFP commissioner’s answer to mean that he would check to see if there was any way he could refuse to provide the information.

e.g. if it wasn’t deemed appropriate for members of the public to know details of police operational methods.

If they were prepared to use that on a lawful and peaceful crowd, what were they prepared to do if the crowd became unruly?

Yuendumu: Kumanjayi Walker cops ‘had guns at the ready’

Amos Aikman
Northern Correspondent
@amosaikman
13 minutes ago February 16, 2022

Zachary Rolfe and his police unit went looking for Kumanjayi Walker with their guns at the ready but did not agree beforehand what they would do if they found the Aboriginal teenager or how they would respond if he turned violent, a court has heard.

The four elite tactical officers set out to scour Yuendumu knowing Walker could be dangerous because they had watched a video of him threatening two local policemen with an axe three days prior.

Constable Rolfe’s defence lawyers have made much of evidence the Immediate Response Team may not have been properly briefed on an order from police bosses to arrest Walker safely at dawn the following morning. The lawyers have also argued the plan was unworkable because no one knew where Walker would be sleeping.

Under questioning by prosecution barrister Philip Strickland SC, IRT member James Kirstenfeldt was forced to correct testimony and acknowledge he was aware of the Sunday arrest plan and that he and his colleagues chose to “make our own plan”.

Excerpts from Constable Kirstenfeldt’s body-worn video recordings captured locals telling him where Walker would spend the night. The court also heard Aboriginal elders and Walker had agreed with police that he would submit after his grandfather’s funeral.

Constable Kirstenfeldt told the court he had no knowledge of a police strategy – described by a regional commander as “tried and tested” – of arresting subjects early in the morning. He denied it was intended to surprise targets while they were asleep.

“Are these answers given to try and help Mr Rolfe?” Mr Strickland asked about a collection of seemingly inconsistent statements.

Constable Kirstenfeldt said they were not, and he simply could not recall certain details.

Constables Rolfe and Kirstenfeldt, two other IRT members and a dog handler went to find Walker at the home of his grandmother, Margaret Brown, who was at the graveyard burying her brother.

Less than a minute later, Rolfe shot Walker three times.

Exhibits released by the court show Walker inflicted a roughly 3mm puncture to Rolfe’s shoulder, allegedly with a pair of blunt-nosed scissors. Rolfe shot Walker once while he was struggling with another policeman and then twice more while he was allegedly “pinned” to the floor. Prosecutors say shots two and three amount to murder.

To prove their case, the prosecutors must demonstrate that Rolfe intended to kill Walker when he fired the second and third shots. Defence lawyers have been eager to show the jury NT police are trained to deploy a firearm when confronted with an edged weapon.

Constable Rolfe also faces lesser charges of manslaughter and recklessly engaging in a violent act causing death.

The trial continues.

The problem isn’t that people like Bolt exist. He’s correct on some things and wrong on others, and that’s nothing to condemn him for. Yes, when he’s wrong he’s wasting space on Sky and in the Herald-Sun, and perhaps worse making people think he represents “conservative” views, but at least sometimes he’s a high profile voice for truth.
The problem is that we don’t have a Limbaugh or a Rogan or a Steyn here in Australia who’s reliably correct pretty much all the time and has a large audience. We’ve got Avi, Rukshan and the Cossack, but their reach is still small.

Turkey – circling the drain with a gold grab

Little noticed in the UK media, reports from a financial vlogger Joe Blogs (that is his handle) on Turkey tells us that the government is ‘asking’ citizens to hand over their gold and foreign currency, at a time of 50% inflation, but citizens will get Lira in return. There are 30,000 gold shops in Turkey and five major refineries

The Turkish government is not simply standing by and watching as the Lira inflates away, the government has cut tax on food from 8% to 1%, and this in the context of a currency crisis, the lira falling 44% in 2021 against foreign currencies.

Sounds pretty shit.

I noticed a big change in JC and told him so. I’ve only known as an acquaintance one person from the old Cat and I think not many people would want to know him if they knew who he really was even though he was popular in both his iterations. One person from my past knew who I was though I still don’t know who they were. I find most people here interesting. What this shithouse government has done has affected us all some more than others. Lizzie has had health problems which she didn’t seem to cope with very well. As for Delta losing a leg, I don’t know how she coped but she did. I personally have been given a chance that wouldn’t have happened in NSW coz of no electives for the heathen and even then not the chance I got in the ACT. As for seizing funds the banks may be up for massive lawsuits/compo if the HC goes against Castro Jnr and the wheels are already turning on that one apparently.

The nub apparently is this legislation is a descendant of a war act and only meant to be used in the context of invasion, border incursion or attack. The assessment Castro Jnr could be on very thin ice.

Thanks Dr F for the history of German energy decisions. Great to see that timeline laid out.

Yes, I saw that this morning.
A very instructive exercise in cause and effect and confirmation bias.
Things we might have thought were rock solid cause and effect relationships from thirty years ago turned out to have the “effect” preceed the “cause” by 3-4 years.
Nicely put together Dr F.

re: Canada GG’s powers..

Trudeau is leader of a minority government.. all it would take is for some of the other parties to remove their support, and then the GG would be forced to have them call an election, or have the 2nd party in line (# seats) try to form another minority government.

.. but as I pointed out previously.. the majority of the parliament is to the LEFT of Trudeau, so that ain’t going to happen.

On Girona.
Yesterday I visited the Jewish museum and was pleased to see a model town that showed that a long time ago my apartment was once the border of the Jewish quarter, which later shrunk considerably, well before the expulsion of the Jews around 1491, though many of their homes are still in existence.
I really like to get that feel of where I am.
The museum is housed in a building located over the location of one of the former synagogues and at the rear you can see archaeological remains of the ritual baths and a private home/butcher shop.
There is a number of Jewish gravestones, recovered from Montjiuc, the Jewish cemetery which was gifted to a woman? by the Jewish community when they were expelled and left, as is, for the next five hundred years.
Worth a visit.
Many of the narrow streets and stairs I have been traversing are in that original Jewish quarter.
I don’t know whether there is a Jewish community today, will have to look that up.
I’m guessing people build and lived high above the river because of flooding, apparently the river has been diverted, so that doesn’t happen any more, the river that divides the town, is so shallow it barely covers the feet of the seagulls who hang out in it.
The city used to have massive walls (on the other side of the river?) and had been besieged many times, there is a photo of some of them in the apartment so they must have been demolished fairly recently.
I also visited the Basilica of St Felix, whose body is still in the basilica, one of the many Christians martyred under Domitian in around 304/305, unusual in Spain it’s paid entry (as is the cathedral) but the audio guide was excellent.
There are eight third and fourth century sarcophagi embedded in the wall on each side of the presbytery, the oldest one is pagan but the rest Christian. Beautiful.
I went to mass in the cathedral this morning and will go back to do the tour this morning.
It was me and four priests at first, in the side chapel this morning. I figured they were reciting Lauds, and finally the mass, one other person slipped in behind me so it wasn’t so awkward.
There are many morning masses on offer within 500 metres so low numbers at probably the highest location should be expected.
My apartment is only 50 metres from the cathedral so closest for me, not to mention the 7 am and 8 am options is a bit too early.

I believe that what we’re witnessing in Canada will happen under an Albanese Labour government here.

I think we should enjoy what’s left of our freedoms whilst we can.

Well that is a bit of a novelty statement for this blog where it appears the majority want to oust the current government and the only alternative is Albanese.

Any statements counter to that are pure folly.

You will get what you vote for – either Morrison or Albanese. Anything else is pure fantasy and I am willing to discuss it at length in the days following the election.

Well done to Federal Parliament. In these days of political correctness and “moving on” from horrific events, it would have been tempting to turn a blind eye to a mass killing of Australian nurses by the Japanese.

Went for coffee in Darlinghurst today for a weekly catch up with friends. The young Vietnamese couple who run the joint said they are closing up and returning to Hanoi in 2 weeks.
They have battled hard to stay open for nearly 2 years, barely getting by, but now their landlord is demanding they make up for past rent deferments or “discounts” thru the pandemic of government overkill.
Imagine this; this great young couple see a better future for themselves in Vietnam than Australia.
When I was in Hanoi I spoke with a woman who’s hubby ran a trucking business and told me that each driver left the depot every morn with 8 envelopes containing cash to pay off the 8 levels of government, police and civil, they would encounter on their runs.
That the known extortion in Hanoi is better than the ever changing 3 level goat rodeo that is Aust governance, who only see small business a their milch cow, is too fucking sad for words.

LRADs
You do know that antifa blm types made exactly the same claim about sonic weapons after the BLM protests in Sydney in June 2020, which kinda puts the kybosh on selective use claims.
Lrads are primarily a public address system with a very loud warning option, so I’m entirely sceptical about these sonic claims.
But it’s pretty obvious whatever the official response is, the really smart people won’t believe it.
Also Canberra has a population of 426 000.
Claims of 100,000 to 200,000 attendance at the protests, in that context especially, seem absurd.
45,000 farmers turned up in Canberra in 1985 for a protest.

I was hunting for Gothic stain glass windows that were discovered behind a baroque altarpiece in the cathedral during restoration works but turns out that must have been very recent as an attendant told me they are currently being cleaned and restored and will go on display in a year or so in the treasury of the cathedral.

This San Fran school board recall is fascinating.
120,000 votes approx.
Average was 80% for the recall.
Looks like there were some administrative games played at the start of it to stop it but those failed (that non-reporting should have been biggest news a couple of months ago).

To put those 120,000 votes into perspective, the population of San Fran is 900k.
Registered voters approx. 500k.
And this is the big one, only 60k public school students.

With unlimited resources, the DNC machine could not mobilise to stop this.
One could say it’s only a school board recall vote.
But it’s a bloody nose to the DNC organisers in San Fran.

I can see this shyte is going to be swept under the carpet. No media will go the politicians and bureaucracy and all the tiers of the medical “profession” and other complicit parties – because they were up to their necks in it too.

Wall-to-wall, unquestioning coverage of a fake pandemic for clicks and eyeballs. They preened and dictated and demonised while real people were suffering. They continue to do it in the face of the truth.

Governments have established petty fiefdoms on the back of the support from a lying media – their media – and challenging them is going to be a mug’s game for real journalists brave enough to do so. Like Trudeau, they will just double down and threaten and damage the people even more.

Ben Fordham excused the government, pretending they had our best interests at heart. This is not true. Whatever the motives for what they have done to us, “best interests” is not one of them.

US inflation is running at 7.5%, if it was measured the same as it was in the 80’s it would be around 15%. The Fed is terrified of raising rates because they know that if they do there is a good chance the economy will start to fall apart as so many have borrowed so much at very low interest and what they have invested in just doesn’t return enough to support higher interest payments, or their wages won’t cover the interest.

My question is. How long can it last? If there is strong inflation over consecutive years and interest rates remain relatively low, at what point will it self destruct? Or can it just keep going indefinitely?

I guess we have a somewhat similar situation here but much of the risk is in home loans, it won’t take much of an interest rate rise, say a couple of percent and many will be unable to keep up with the mortgages. The Federal Gov is dying to start up the ponzi immigration scheme asap but even with that interest rates will rule what happens. How long can it last?

Cassie of Sydney

I have a long memory, something which is both a curse and a gift. Last night I remembered how at the federal election in 1990, Liberal John Spender, father of Allegra Da Big Spender, lost his seat of North Sydney by a huge swing to independent Ted Mack. I recall Spender being interviewed on election night by their ABC (I only watched the ABC then, seems like another world) and a visibly shocked Spender was asked by an ABC journalist what Mack will accomplish in Canberra. I recall Spender saying “nothing, absolutely nothing”.

The thing is that Ted Mack, unlike Spender’s daughter Allegra Da Big Spender here in Wentworth, was a true independent. Mack was a man of integrity and he introduced ideas to parliament to benefit all Australians. He introduced a private member’s bill for citizen initiated referendums like those practised in Switzerland, he retired from from federal parliament in 1996 so as to avoid receiving a parliamentary pension. He had no sinister puppeteer pulling his strings, he was his own man. Mack was full of original ideas and in hindsight, his views on any Australian republic, had a lot of merit.

I wonder if Liberal elder Spender remembers those words that he uttered on election night in 1990 and I wonder what he’s said to his very shallow and vacuous daughter? Whilst not a fan of milksop Dave Sharma and I won’t be voting for him, after hearing some of slime ball Holmes a Court’s weasel words and watching his body language at the National Press Club yesterday, I was reminded of a cult leader like L. Ron Hubbard. There’s little difference, Holmes a Court is a highly cashed up member of the cult of climate change, a cult that will destroy many, many more lives than Scientology. He’s a disingenuous, evasive, dangerous, sinister and hypocritical rodent (exactly like his late father) who doesn’t give a rat’s arse about mainstream Australia. At the end of the day it’s all about the money and there’s a lot of money in renewables.

His appearance yesterday was an ominous portent and one we should take notice of. Don’t say we weren’t warned.

Federal Parliament has paused to reflect on the 80th anniversary of the Bangka Island Massacre, paying special tribute to Sister Vivian Bullwinkel.

Well done to Federal Parliament. In these days of political correctness and “moving on” from horrific events, it would have been tempting to turn a blind eye to a mass killing of Australian nurses by the Japanese.”

The story is, hushed up after the war, is that the nurses were raped before they were murdered.

The Critical Drinker has a tweet responding so some other person who (I assume wanting to defend the orc-like travesty of LOTR, ‘Rings of Power’ and its woke re-imagining to make all the races ‘diverse’ and push ‘strong women’) complains that there would be outrage if the scene in the trilogy showing Eowyn killing the King of the Nazgul was filmed today.

The argument presumably being that the reaction to woke is a recent concoction, rather than a reaction by normal people to the recent concoction of woke.

The Drinker deftly points out that it was in the book. And woven into the story.

People had no problem because…why should they? Since it was not politics being rammed down their throat but a fascinating story why would they be angry.

But it illuminates the thinking of the woke warriors.

Interesting last few days and nights on the Cat, it would be fair to say.

Johanna vs Lizzie
JC vs ZK2A, Cohenite etc..
Rex vs srr
Cassie vs srr
Struth vs Rosie
KD vs Fat Tony
Yours truly vs Milts
Lizzie vs JMH
Clowder of Cats vs Lizzie
And, for old times’ sake.. who can forget the hilarity of Arma vs Arky?

All allegedly intelligent, accomplished, mature individuals.
And yet, here we are, wandering what to do about the inexorable fucking-over of this Country, by well organized, lying, hateful, resentful, envious, immensely stupid but cunning ugly c.ts.

Russia still building forces on Ukraine border, says top Nato official

Russia is continuing to send troops to what is now the biggest concentration of forces in Europe since the cold war, contradicting Moscow’s claims of a drawdown on Ukraine’s border, Nato’s secretary general has said.

Luckily, NATO is like a crouching Tiger, ready to pounce:

In a warning shot to the Kremlin, Stoltenberg, a former prime minister of Norway, announced that the military alliance was considering deploying further battle groups in eastern and central Europe.

“We will have advice from the military commanders within weeks and we will make a decision after that,” Stoltenberg said…
