I like how Nancy’s body is controlled by wires – you can see her winding them with her wrists and then her body rises.

Very wisely does not rely upon her coordination and sense of balance to stand, but has had that function replaced by mechanics.

Britain’s and spies are being urged to consider their ‘white privilege’ and declare their pronouns as Europe descends into war.

A leaked guide to improving diversity and inclusion in the security services suggests the agents should avoid gendered terms such as ‘manpower’.

Spies are also advised against such words as ‘strong’ and ‘grip’ which can ‘reinforce dominant cultural patterns’. And they are encouraged not to speak on all-male panels.

In the document – entitled Mission Critical – the chiefs of MI5, MI6 and GCHQ extol the virtues of diversity and inclusion, saying both are vital in keeping the country safe.

But the paper has caused disquiet in other areas of government, with critics saying security officials should have been less focused on inclusion and more alert to events in Afghanistan and Ukraine.

Mission Critical was written by Sir Stephen Lovegrove, the national security adviser, in October and published internally on December 6 – days after Ukraine warned of large-scale escalation by Russia.

In his foreword, Sir Stephen said: ‘This toolkit is called Mission Critical because a diverse and inclusive culture is critical to succeeding in our national security missions.’

But a government source said: ‘There will be times where our security services have to kill the enemies who wish us ill.

‘A culture where ‘manpower’ is offensive and where pronouns and ‘privilege’ are promulgated is far removed from the deadly decisions spooks often need to take.’

The diversity toolkit is intended to be read by officials at GCHQ, MI5 and MI6, as well as in the Office for Security and Counter Terrorism in the Home Office and by the national security secretariat.

In the document, a Muslim worker praises her employer for allowing her not to shake hands with men because this is in line with her religious beliefs on modesty.

And a female civil servant at the Ministry of Defence claims she felt ‘humiliation’ when she started working there as ‘new girls had to earn their place in the team’. She said the ‘workplace culture failed us’.

The toolkit says staff should ‘understand your unconscious bias’, ‘be aware of intersectionality [the idea that different forms of prejudice can overlap]’, ‘acknowledge your privilege’ and consider refusing to speak on all-male panels.

It urges national security staff to declare their pronouns – to be referred to as ‘he’, ‘she’, ‘they’ or something else – to make transgender colleagues feel more included.

‘Sharing your pronouns, if you are comfortable doing this, helps to create an environment in which this is normal,’ it said.

‘You can do this by: adding your pronouns to your email signature or sharing them at the start of a slidepack.’

In a section on inclusive language, it says: ‘In national security, look out for words and phrases, such as ‘strong’ or ‘grip’, that reinforce the dominant cultural patterns. Avoid jargon, hierarchy or gender biases.’

Another section said: ‘Consider the impact of phrases that can have negative connotations or dehumanise others.

‘Try not to define an individual or group by what makes them different. If you need to talk about an individual or group, choose adjectives over nouns.

‘Instead of ‘Asians’, try ‘Asian people’, ‘people of Asian heritage’ or specify a region or country. Instead of ‘the disabled’, try ‘people with disabilities’ and ‘people with mental health conditions’ over ‘the mentally ill’.

‘Use gender neutral language to reflect people’s diversity and reduce stereotypes and assumptions, for example about job roles and functions which need not be gender defined.’

The document encourages staff to read a range of books on equality issues, including those by controversial critical race theorist Kimberle Crenshaw.

A Whitehall spokesman said the report was written in October, although it was not published until December.

He said diversity and integration would be integrated into mainstream core training and leadership modules.

‘They are fundamental to the national security of the UK,’ the spokesman added. ‘That includes having people from different backgrounds, perspectives and ways of thinking.’

ATAGI seems to be lining up the ducks in preparation for revoking mRNA vaccine authorisation.

The Therapeutic Goods Administration is currently considering an application for whole of population use of the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine as a booster following a two-dose course of either the Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccine or the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Here’s my prediction: within 3 months the Provisional Determination for mRNA vaccines will be revoked, and all further vaccinations will be Novavax. There’s just too much swirling background data that points to mRNA vaccines not being safe enough, outside an Emergency situation. And clearly the emergency has passed, overtaken by events in Eastern Europe.

One can hope.

As for Ukraine, looking at the maps I have a sneaking feeling there’s quite a few generals in NATO quietly shitting themselves. Going by where there’s been fighting reported, it sounds like Russia has either taken, neutralized or surrounded everything that matters east of the Dnieper River. Though that’s got the caveat of everything being so hard to confirm.

Oh yeah??? Says it all. But there again, life is so damn “on its head” these days…. what seems obvious to me, is mysterious to others.

Had a house guest at farm a few days ago….told him we had to watch “Outsiders” as it is compulsory viewing in our household on Sunday morning. He just sat there poker faced the whole time as we rolled about in stitches.

Wrong politics. Turns people’s world view on opposite polarity.

That Iranian (hat tip Joe) … sorry, Russian convoy in the Ukraine, is a long line of sitting ducks for anyone having a few Warthog ground attack planes or ground attack Helos.

I’m guessing that the number of times the location of this Russian convoy and possible consequences have been aired over the past few hours and nothing untoward has happened to it might suggest that either there is no, feasible, deterrent available, Ukraine recc isn’t up to scratch or it has a sight more protection than is being credited …
then again, being “Iranian” it might, just might be carrying aid for the beleaguered folk .. LOL!

Sorry, there’s not really a link. It’s more looking at a map, and putting together where fighting has been reported by more reliable sources like ASB news on twitter in conjunction with maps of the locations of forces.
Like I said, there’s the caveat of it’s hard to find concrete information, but if there’s fighting in Kahkiv and reports of Russian forces near Poltava, coupled with Kiev nearly surrounded, the coast being in Russian hands bar some of the cities and that doesn’t leave much significant.
Supposedly a huge number of the Ukranian forces more or less trapped near the two republics.

So yeah, some basic sleuth work I’m finding it very hard to take the media seriously.

Slavs happened.

And in this blog’s mad rush to condemn debbil-debbil NATOists and Euro oligarchs and
perfidious American globalists and all the assorted Western public figures nobody really likes any more after 2 years of Covid fuckery, they forgot that Slavic nations and subgroupings all have their own agendas. Many of them annihilation-level violent against their own old enemies.

In a Slav-fight, you do not pick sides and dig in. You bomb the lot and make strenuous efforts to keep them apart (Remember Serbia and then Kosovo?), or you get the hell out of the way and let them burn their lethal enthusiasms out themselves.

Instead, you have all assigned Ukraine the status of proxy amd scapegoat for the sins (both real and imagined) of the people who deposed Donald Trump and panicked us all into 2 years of social derangement and economic crisis.

They did not deserve that. Neither did we.

If you’re wondering when the Bentley or Lambo finally arrives, you have another 12 month wait time.

BERLIN—A cargo ship that caught fire last month with thousands of luxury vehicles on board sank Tuesday morning, the ship’s management company said.

MOL Ship Management Singapore Pte Ltd, which owns the company that operates the ship, said the Felicity Ace sank around 9 a.m. local time about 220 nautical miles (253 miles) off Portugal’s Azores islands after it began to take on water and tilt to one side.

The Panama-flagged 60,000-ton merchant ship carrying around 4,000 luxury cars—including models from Porsche, Bentley, Audi, Lamborghini and other Volkswagen AG brands—caught fire in February and burned intensely for days.

SMIT Salvage, the Dutch company charged with salvaging the ship, sent a team of large oceangoing tugboats to the scene and was towing the vessel to safety when it sank.

Zach Rolfe trial: Zach Rolfe takes the stand for alleged murder of Kumanjayi Walker
JASON WALLS CHIEF COURT REPORTER
NT NEWS

ZACH Rolfe has taken the stand in his trial for the alleged murder of Kumanjayi Walker, telling jurors he was trained by NT Police to respond to the threat of an edged weapon by drawing his gun and being “prepared to pull the trigger”.

Rolfe has pleaded not guilty to all charges and took the stand in the Supreme Court on Wednesday after Crown prosecutor, Philip Strickland SC, closed the case against him over the fatal shooting in Yuendumu in 2019.

His barrister, David Edwardson QC, asked the formerly Alice Springs based constable what he learned the term “knife equals gun” meant in the course of his police training.

“The way I was trained was, if we were presented, if someone is threatening us with an edged weapon, our first response was to go for our firearm unless that was impossible,” he said.

“You only draw your firearm if you’re prepared to pull the trigger.”

Rolfe said in a situation where an alleged offender presented an edged weapon, he was trained to draw his Glock to provide “lethal cover” and then “go from there”.

“If you had distance, you pull your weapon and you had lethal cover, you then had time to assess to see if there’s a difference, if the offender reacts differently, if you don’t have the distance or time then you don’t have the ability to cause that change,” he said.

“If the offender’s on top of you, you can’t assess the situation, or, you can assess the situation but you can’t so much utilise that distance.

“You aren’t always given the benefit of the distance in that situation.”

Rolfe said he was also trained in the use of a “shove and shoot” technique in response to an attack by a person armed with an edged weapon.

“They would attempt to strike us, we were drilled to defend ourselves with our non-dominant arm, with our dominant arm, draw our Glock and simulate firing rounds into the centre of mass of the assailant,” he said.

“The training was always you shoot until the threat is incapacitated no matter how many rounds that takes.”

Rolfe told the court he had watched body-worn camera footage of an incident from three days before the shooting in which Kumanjayi Walker threatened police with an axe, saying he felt it was “being swept under the rug”.

Defence barrister David Edwardson QC. Picture: Julianne Osborne
Defence barrister David Edwardson QC. Picture: Julianne Osborne
“It seemed that this was the kind of incident that we should all be alerted to,” he said.

“It’s known that people from Yuendumu and Alice Springs generally go between fairly often so this offender was potentially a risk to Alice Springs (police) members.

“I asked (shift sergeant Evan Kelly) to come watch the videos and we had a discussion about it and he agreed that the incident should have been relayed up the chain of command and a higher response should already have been organised.”

Rolfe said he had looked up Mr Walker’s history on the police record system and discovered he had “a very extensive criminal history” including “violence against women and violence against police”.

“I characterised him as a high risk offender, extremely violent, who was willing to use potentially lethal weapons against police,” he said.

Rolfe said he was later called up for an Immediate Response Team call-out on the day of the shooting by officer in charge, Shane McCormack, “to travel to Yuendumu to arrest (Kumanjayi) Walker”.

“I asked him specifically what our mission was, I asked him twice, and he confirmed it was to arrest Kumanjayi Walker,” he said.

Rolfe said he then drove to Yuendumu with Constable James Kirstenfeldt, arriving about 7pm, saying he could recall the pair having a conversation “about the mission”.

“We were obviously aware that the mission was to arrest Walker,” he said.

“The only comment that I can recall myself making is that we should have been sent out earlier, as in days earlier, not hours earlier.”

The trial continues on Thursday when Rolfe will continue his evidence before he is cross examined by Crown prosecutor Philip Strickland SC.

WA border re-opening: Smoking ceremony held at Perth Airport to mark international and interstate arrivals
Phil Hickey The West Australian
Wed, 2 March 2022 2:27PM

A smoking ceremony to mark the beginning of WA’s long awaited border re-opening was held at Perth Airport on Wednesday.

The ceremony conducted by Whadjuk Elder Walter McGuire with support from his wife Meg, was also attended by major international airline representatives, ahead of the much anticipated border re-opening which will kick in from midnight.

WA’s border re-opening will allow for quarantine-free travel from all vaccinated interstate and overseas tourists from 12.01am on March 3.

“After almost two years of international travel restrictions, we’ve been working on ensuring we have everything in place for tonight’s border reopening,” Mr Brown said.

“It’s not just a physical event, there will be a huge emotional element to this re-opening.

“We believe the cultural symbolism of a smoking ceremony to cleanse the terminal and the airport after two very tough years is an important part of drawing a line under the past and looking to the future.”

https://www.intellectualtakeout.org/nyt-publishes-slanderous-video-about-the-death-of-trayvon-martin/

Shortly before the shooting, Zimmerman called the police, and the conversation was recorded. According to the Times’ edited audio, Zimmerman told the police:

This guy looks like he’s up to no good, or he’s on drugs or something. He looks black.

In reality, however, the following discussion took place, with the words in bold removed by the Times:

Zimmerman: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.”
Police Dispatcher: “OK, and this guy—is he white, black, Hispanic?”
Zimmerman: “He looks black.”

Razey, end of the day I reckon Putin is not a pleasant man, but he’s smart and ruthless and has play his hands very well. Exactly the sort you need as a leader. For all that though, he’s still constrained in the Ukraine by the same dictates of geography and politics as every leader of Russia for hundreds of years. Someone else would be forced to make much the same decisions.

Unfortunately you can’t make that point with most people, especially now.

Take drive in google along the Russian roads from the Ukraine border to Moscow. It’s flat as a pancake with little to no natural defensive positions. I can 100% understand why Russia is extremely nervous. They lost 27 million fighting Nazi’s and this has left a definite cultural memory. The West should step outside their echo chamber and understand this simple fact.

Just watched a TV report about the “floods” in Sydney….

OK, I’ll admit I’ve often defended the “common folk”, “the masses” and the “riff raff” against claims they are morons….but now i’m throwing in the towel. Most of them ARE F’wits!

Ok, so their hovels and rat-boxes are now full of water. This happened less than a year ago too, and ANYBODY, with say 11% of a functioning brain or more, knew their dumps built on muddy flood-plains would certainly suffer such a fate eventually, and REPEATEDLY.. So what did the imbeciles do?

Rushed out to PAY MILLIONS for the pleasure of wallowing in the mud! Yeap…paid millions for their shacks….while nearly everybody in Sydney cheered their F’wittery.

So that’s it. I now agree that almost all Aussies must be retards. I give up defending them!

Haha, GM got scammed by an EV patent medicine guy.

GM Sold Their 7.5 Million Share Stake In Lordstown Motors In Q4 (2 Mar)

The steep loss in market value is due to Hindenburg Research which accused the electric car startup of faking preorders. Hindenburg is best known for calling Nikola an “intricate fraud,” which led to the departure of the company’s founder and eventual probes by several regulatory bodies. This is eventually what happened to Lordstown by early summer when CEO Steve Burns and CFO Julio Rodriguez resigned. The Department of Justice has since been probing the company for false and misleading statements to investors.

There’s so much of this stuff going on. Obama was a big instigator.

Interesting report.

Russian invasion of Ukraine: morgues in Belarus are crammed with the bodies of Chechens (2 Mar)

In the city of Mozyr, Gomel region of Belarus, mortuaries are filled with the corpses of ethnic Chechens who tried to fight in Ukraine.

Anna Krasulina, press secretary of the Belarusian oppositionist Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, announced this on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.

“We know that all the morgues in Mazyr are full. At what there are ethnic Chechens. We also know that they are tasked with storing these corpses for a long time. This means that they are afraid to send cargo 200 to Chechnya.

No idea about the veracity of this, but Ms Krasulina has for quite a while been an irritant to nice Mr Lukashenko. Couple it with the report a few days ago that Chechen boss Kadyrov was sending 12,000 fighters to Ukraine. I’ve seen a couple vids of both live and dead Chechens so far, so maybe the idea that they’re being used as AKs-on-legs is accurate. Vlad, I think, doesn’t much like Chechens, even the ones on his side.

I wonder about these performances, from whence did they originate, and for what reason are they performed.

I wish Whadjuk Elder Walter McGuire and his wife Meg all the best and commend them for their enterprising spirit, but I wonder about the morality of corporations and government departments paying for these performances while feeling that their sponsorship is somehow virtuous.

Has it occurred to them that these performances might not be edifying nor uplifting for some of the performers and viewers. Is this anything other than a reanimated museum artifact, some theater bought to life in recent history like Frankenstein’s monster, a historic pantomime.

Think of it through another set of eyes. Imagine yourself as a successful, middle class indigenous man. Imagine that you just got off a plane at an Australian airport, well dressed in a tailored suit, pleased with yourself for successfully closing a deal, and you are greeted by a smoking ceremony.

How would he view the spectacle?

That works as an equation until the guerilla phase, of course, then the advantage reverses.

Yes, although rare, especially with a dairy cow used to being handled by humans. I tried to refrain from second guessing the police in this instance. But I can’t help but think this was uncalled for and a case of hammer meets nail. Could they not have called a vet?

Poor wet and miserable cow, I’m sad for her. I’ve just had two wet, miserable brushtails arrive. They rarely come out when it’s raining, but they’re hungry because of typical early March weather. The Cafe also had an endless queue of wet birds all day. Flanneries are annoying.

About 5yrs ago for the first time in my life I experienced intermittently, excruciating cramps to my toes.
My sister advised me to purchase MagMin tabs which I did for $18.50.
I never did get to take them because that very same day srr had stated on the old catallaxy that a teaspoon of Vegemite would do the trick. I tried that first and it worked and has done ever since.
Occasionally when I get slack and don’t have my Vegemite the cramps return. I don’t know what the secret is but I do know it isn’t salt. I have plenty each morning on my eggs.
I remain eternally grateful to srr.
