Depends where you are Winston but for the most part farmers are doing very well and the equity is getting a big pump thanks to land prices.
150% write offs on deprecation is probably overheating the machinery market.
No extra help is needed but for government to get the hell out of our lives and let the productive produce.
We’ve had over 30mm so far today and it’s still raining. Maybe a few mushrooms will show up. Nothing better than field mushies.

Dozens of severe cases of hepatitis were detected in children in the United States and United Kingdom this month, with the source of the virus remaining somewhat of a mystery to public health officials.

The infections in the U.S. were reported in Alabama. Since November, the Alabama Department of Public Health, pediatric hospitals in the state and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have been investigating the uptick in hepatitis in young children. As many as nine kids under the age of 10 have tested positive for the virus, with two requiring liver transplants, ADPH noted.
The affected children had gastrointestinal illness and even liver failure. Later analyses revealed a possible link of the hepatitis they contracted with Adenovirus 41, according to a statement from the department.

Adenoviruses are common and typically cause mild, flu-like or gastrointestinal illness, the department explained. Rarely, in otherwise healthy individuals, do these viruses cause illness so severe that patients need to be hospitalized or die.

“This is unusual,” Dr. Wes Stubblefield, district medical officer for the department, told NBC News. “This virus hasn’t, in the past, been associated with this constellation of signs, symptoms and injury.”

The nine children in Alabama were from throughout the state. An epidemiological connection among them has yet to be established. None of the kids had any noteworthy underlying conditions, ADPH pointed out.

The department issued an alert in search of additional cases, and it continues to collaborate with the CDC, pediatric healthcare providers in Alabama and Texas, the New York State Health Department Wadsworth Center and the Infectious Disease Pathology Branch at the CDC.

The CDC is developing a national health advisory, looking for similar cases in other states and talking with international colleagues about hepatitis infections that are potentially associated with adenovirus.

The World Health Organization was notified on April 5 of 10 cases of severe acute hepatitis of unknown origin — similarly, in children under the age of 10 — across central Scotland. Three days later, 74 total infections had been identified in the United Kingdom, the international public health agency said in a statement.
The initial 10 children diagnosed with hepatitis in the U.K. ranged in age from 11 months to five years. Their symptoms included jaundice, diarrhea, vomiting and abdominal pain, and the virus was detected only after they were hospitalized, according to WHO.

The 64 additional cases of acute hepatitis were identified mainly in children up to 10 years old. They had elevated liver enzymes, often with jaundice and sometimes preceded by gastrointestinal symptoms, WHO said.

And barely 2 years later, the US Army Air Force had aircraft with the speed, altitude and reach to strike the Japanese home islands from the second island chain or mainland China.
Note the P-38,P-39, Corsair and B-29 were projects started before US involvement in WW2.
The B-29 project was vastly expensive. IIRC more so than the Manhattan project and a miserable flop at its original mission of high altitude daylight bombing. Japan could likely have been fire bombed from low altitude by B-24’s at night instead of B-29’s. Took a long time to sort out the engine overheat/fire issue on the Wright engines too.
After WW2 the B-29 was used to air launch the Bell X-1 and Douglas Skyrocket (lesser known than the X-1, Chuck Yeager and the X-1 got most of the glory). Major fear was an engine catching fire on climb to altitude. Skyrocket pilot Bill Bridgeman had a friend who was worried about him flying the Skyrocket, not because of that aircraft but because of the propensity of B-29 engines to catch fire

Mostly now I’ve not been keeping track of the equipment sites lately, just general progress. It’s still a mess. Mariupol is a continuing thorn, a VDV column of paras was spotted heading there yesterday apparently. Meddling in things they don’t understand is the entire function of everyone in the political class.

Yes, Britain set, etc. And while the House of Peers withholds Its legislative hand, And noble statesmen do not itch To interfere with matters which They do not understand, As bright will shine Great Britain’s rays As in King George’s glorious days!

I’ve probably seen several hundred photos, both RUS and UKR vehicles mainly (aircraft often don’t have much left to be IDed from). There’ve been a few photos creep in from other places, like from 2014 or even Syria. A tank in a desert is a bit incongruous since I’ve not noticed many deserts in Ukraine. Husband and wife are one, and a wife can agree to obey. To obey though means more than to do as one is told. True authority is a gift given to the one in authority, and authority is not about getting one’s way but rather about charity and the good of the other. But I understand, too, that peacemakers, if that is a context, are called ‘blessed’. The point though was that with the vaxxing business, it never happens that the unvaccinated make being unvaccinated a condition to circumstances – in contrast to the behaviour of the vaxxed. Bespoke mentions Struth – Struth did not reject his son, I don’t think, even though he regretted the son’s decision. Struth played in a bar with vaccinated persons in attendance, yet these same vaxxed persons earlier would not have allowed him, as a matter of their personal attitudes (attitudes and not principles because if they were principles they would have held onto them after the mandates lifted) into their company. It’s not really a minor point, for what societally is enacted as coercion also has its attendant injustice at the more immediate. Both are unjust.

Daily Tele. Put the Greens last.

What the Greens’ key policies will cost taxpayers

Stolen generations survivor payments – $6.7bn
1,000,000 new houses – $320bn
Household insulation – $7bn over the next decade
“Australian Stories Fund” – $1bn
“Green steel industry” – $500m

Analysis of Greens economic policy also finds that the party is calling for billions of dollars to be handed out to everyone from film makers to Stolen Generations survivors.

The party’s website says the Greens want to give $200,000 to every survivor of the Stolen Generations.

According to Dr Fadwa al-Yaman of the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, there could be more than 30,000 such individuals.

“In 2018–19, there were an estimated 33,600 Stolen Generations survivors, including 27,200 aged 50 and over,” Dr Fadwa Al-Yaman said last year.

If every survivor were to receive the Greens’ proposed payment, taxpayers would pay more than $6.7bn.

A valuable lesson in “growing calls to step down” news.
Two weeks ago Jeff Kennett was a goner as President of Hawthorn Football Club.
Apparently he had made a joke about the torn jeans worn by the wife of former Hawks player Cyril Rioli.
Cyril is Aboriginal, so this was bigger than telling Rosa Parks to sit up the back of the bus.
Jeff said “sorry”.
As in “sorry she feels that way and is being an idiot”.
He wasn’t going to survive.
Had to go.
Except he didn’t.
And he isn’t.
A lesson for ScoMo.

  1. Better to say nothing, then. Conservatives always follow the rules, but then get massacred, because the left ignores the rules.
