Long COVID May Be Chronic, Require Anti-Inflammatory Meds: Study
Severe systemic inflammation during hospitalization for COVID increases the risk of dying within a year after the patient seemingly recovers, University of Florida researchers found.
The stronger someone’s inflammation is during their hospitalization for COVID, the greater the likelihood of dying within a year of recovering from the initial infection, researchers report in the journal Frontiers in Medicine.

Why do they have three bars/pubs at Yagan Square when you’re obviously allowed to buy cheap goon from Woolies and sit outside and drink it on the concrete?
Because if you are going to name a public place for a murderous shithead who got what was coming to him (oh dear, how sad, the chap who murdered 3 men was shot for the bounty on his head) then obviously you are signalling crimes arent crimes if you are of suitable ethnicity/dug fuckedness or general smell.
Yagan square apparently needs ‘revitalization” already, the local attractions sipping their goon bags dont appear to be the draw card they thought they would be.
Having a temporary police trailer parked there permanently doesnt add to the amenity either.

Seems to be a virus that needs people to have a definite specific weakness in their immune system to hit hard.
And who knows what that might be.
A certain strain of another illness a long time/short time ago making you vulnerable/invulnerable or just a bit of “junk DNA” some people carry.
But Kudos to a 92 year old beating it, at that age it doesnt take much.
“Officially,” in WA you have natural immunity for 12 weeks.
What pisses me off, despite whether St Ruth wants to rant, I got the vax (coerced and at very last minute) and got pretty sick for two days. I had to get the second for same reasons… and got pretty sick for about three days. Then I got Chinaflu… and got pretty sick for about two days. Perhaps I’m just a softcock…
So I got a jab to get sick so I wouldn’t get sick to get a second jab to not get sicker only to get sicker only to get sick.

Does anyone really believe that Labor will do anything?
They just want to make the Libs look delinquent in their duties – and in a sphere where the Liberals have are able to claim success and Labor has proven a dismal failure: Borders.
There is no way Labor will implement the policy it is pretending anyone serious about borders would. They will throw open the borders by the afternoon that Albo gets sworn in. And the idea of in any way penalising someone here illegally (mostly people overstaying work visas) might by some technicality be extended to fat balding bearded men posing as teenagers from the Middle East busted for fondling a pre-pubescent girl under her swimsuit in a swimming pool.
The injustice!

lowlights.
She had twins already, having got pregnant and married at 16 (though the marriage didn’t last). By the time she was 25, Bertram Roberts, now 44, had seven children. She had wanted to terminate one of these pregnancies – her health was suffering so soon after her previous birth, and she was a single parent living in poverty. It seemed impossible to have another baby, but when she arrived at the clinic, she found she couldn’t afford the abortion. “I got turned away, and then I ended up being too far along. The trauma of that, even though I love my child … I came to terms with having to stay pregnant, but not everybody does. I was fortunate – I had my mom and my grandmother to help me.
…
Bertram Roberts, who identifies as a non-binary femme*, is executive director of the Yellowhammer Fund, an organisation based in Alabama that provides abortion care and campaigns for reproductive justice.
…
It will disproportionately affect women of colour, who accounted for nearly 67% of abortions in Alabama in 2019, and those living below the poverty level, who will be more likely to self-manage abortion with pills at the risk of being caught, “and criminalisation is going to disproportionately fall on black and brown bodies, because it always does.” Forced birth, says Bertram Roberts, “is going to kill people. You can’t force people to stay pregnant and then not expect that people are going to die, when it’s more risky to give birth than to have an abortion.** And that’s just in general, that’s not even specific to black women.”
…
Then, she says, “life happened***, and I became a teenage mom and wife. I got pregnant again and again and again, and you just learned that no issue is as black and white as anti-abortion activists try to make it seem.”

There is active research into susceptibility variance. Genes are part of that picture. For example, MHC variance plays an important role in immune responses. Inflammation driven by obesity is obviously a major problem. Inflammaging is also an issue. Naive T cell availability is another issue. There is even research on circadian dynamics, which is so obvious even I thought of that.
The problem isn’t that the research isn’t being done, the problem is there so many potential variables to consider(PVN, SOCs, TNFRs, Il-1ra, il-2, 8 etc etc).

Omicron is NOT a normal cold or flu.
The symptoms and the development of the virus are quite unique. Not dangerous, unless one has severe comorbidities.* Not even particularly miserable, as is a good old fashioned cold. But no matter how loudly Struth shrieks, it is NOT a cold.
*I have three major comorbidities, including blood cancer. I didn’t need to spend even one day in bed with Omicron.
The pathway will go as follows:-
.1 It will be sold as a “Voice to Parliament” with no legislative weight for the purposes of “R”;
.2 Any MHR or Senator who votes against “Voice” resolutions, or any journalist who writes unfavourably about them will be hounded up hill and down dale as a racist;
.3 Judicial Mordies will find the “Voice” irresistible when searching for a hook to overturn common law and legislation;

Though, while the Amgers have had a visitation from Ohmigod, it only ever afflicted my sister who brought it in. And 3 weeks after she stopped feeling crap and bedbound, none of the rest of us still have it.
Those Wuhan folks need the following endorsement in their Party dossiers:
“Must Try Harder.”
With reparations attached.

‘Affects’, Struth. Affects.
Let’s just try not to overdo the Not Quite Entirely Safe For Work content, Mole.
All fully clothed, no rude words and only cartoons.
My conscience in this matter is clear.
My motives however…
Im just a saint, a saint i tell you.
No. It never is.
You stay away from my Cenotaphs and Shrines of Remembrance, Struth.
You’ll either burn yourself on the Eternal Flame, drown yourself in a Pool of Remembrance or poke your eyes out on any protruding edges.
Or worse, impale yourself on one of the torpedos at the Freo Memorial…
kd wrong and ambassador Pascoe. What could wrong?
Could be a long 3 years.
That’s what happens.
My counter to that is the story of the first bloke I know of who caught it back in May 2020. As wide as he is tall, just had an operation for bowel cancer and was undergoing chemo. Hardly had a sniffle.
You point at the stats showing who is dying (the elderly) but because of the hysteria whipped up by the MSM no one listened.
Mole, my dear fellow,
I am sorry to say that your link is broken…
As bad as monty is, he’s no Iampeter.
I don’t know which Australians Senator Wrong has been talking to in order to form this view, but ABC’s Vote Compass – a sampling of more “enlightened” and “progressive” views, one would have thought – finds that indigenous issues are of importance in this election for only 1% of respondents.
For what reason?
I have no psychiatric (or psychological) disorders. I am just reasonably annoyed with hysterics who try to shout me into their way of thinking.
Believe it or not, Struth, you are not in any way superior to anyone here.
Remember the Golden Rule.
Delta, can you show us the official medical journals describing the symptoms of Omnicon please?
Then answer me one question.
Did all the flus you caught in your life have exactly the same symptoms?
Did all the colds?
Why do people call some head colds, and others are on the lungs?
You of course, being a medical expert in Omnicon, can tell us all these things.
Can you tell us why fruit and coca cola can produce positive test results, while a hyperchondriac knows she has long covid even though the tests come back negative?
(she’s also been jabbed, but that can’t be it, can it?)
You’re doing the equivalent of blasting through town in the middle of the night with the Jake on all the way instead of just “lifting off” a bit sooner.
Iampeter (for better or worse) had a staying power no mortal should ever posess.
The way the man could weeble back upright day after day after being knocked flat and having his pseudointellectual tyres shot out from under him was something to behold.
I miss making him rage. 🙁
#NostalgiaIsNice,
#ButBestNotRepeated
Yes.
Try again..
Even google impugns my purity of spirit.
Im just a saint, a saint i tell you.
Pretty sure that’s a type of Transformer, Struth.
Try to use the correct terms- It makes our jobs a little harder…
I never claimed superiority, but I have a better bullshit detector than those that have fallen to fear propaganda.
So put your money where your mouth is Delta, and give us the officaila symptoms of Omnicon.
It’s not a cold as you say……..
Dot:
Righto. He’s a mincing fuckwit.
I trust he was saved by the doona and pillowcases featuring himself.
You’re just a soul whose intentions are good… 😉
#OLawd
#PleaseDon’tLetHeBe
#Misunderstood
Yeah…
Nah.
Roger I think most people are long over it. In my experience people don’t even discuss it and that includes the indigenous people I have known. This is far more interesting than all the blather about indigenous issues.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rE2dCLLXmQQ
The only symptoms different from a cold that they talk about are the symptoms ONLY THE JABBED experience, which they now call covid symptoms.
But the unjabbed aren’t getting sick and aren’t dying from any of this shit.
See what the sane are up against?
Stubborn denialsim.
Delta I gave you an uptick but somehow you got 4, you deserve them.
I think you’ll find that Indolent linked and article and I referred to the article using the same link
but don’t let facts or common sense get in the way
it’s like a mother’s club in this joint
fucked if know.
Which option are you choosing, St. Ruth?
Option 3? The sitting option?
‘Stand, fall, or sit as necessary’ doesn’t have the same ring to it.
Of course!
Sydney artist Blak Douglas has won the Archibald Prize
This is Blak, and his prize winner.
This is the bio of ol’ mate Black, aka Adam Douglas Hill
“But mummy, said the child. “The Emperor has no clothes on, and Blak and the lady in the pic are white.””
No grants for you, my boy.
Remember the Golden Rule.
Kick the swine when they are down?
Never give a sucker an even chance?
If there are 5 people playing poker and you dont know who the mark is, its you?

Does anybody who follows AFL have trouble knowing the names of the players on their own team , let alone the players on the opposition team ?
Can anybody name a single player for Fremantle?
The turnover of players is enormous.
Sometimes they come up as a 100 game player and I have never heard of them.
And they all seem to be named Jack or Jeremy or Chad
Where have all the Peters gone ?
Gollum gollum.
Liberal Party responds to Labor’s The Lord of the Rings advertisement with Gollum-like depiction of Anthony Albanese (13 May)
Sounds right to me. May the best Gollum win.
There are no votes in indigenous issues.
Calli, in that hotel you are right in the line of the first bomber strike on Darwin.
They hit the wharf, the Administrator’s Residence behind you, and the Post Office behind that – where Parliament House now stands.
Oddly enough, a quick Google will tell you.
Sounds about right.
Ken I only pick on you coz you deserve it for crapping on for last 2 years about how wonderful you are and everyone of us except a few are responsible for your situation as if its only you. Blaming everyone else does you no credit and you’ve burnt any you had before. Any semblance of normality is long gone. Get off the couch, get over yourself and think about what you can do in the future. I seriously doubt you’re capable anymore. If you don’t pull your finger out of your arse you won’t have a future and that exactly the same as so many here. Grow up or go and sook somewhere else.
and the Post Office behind that – where Parliament House now stands.
So you are saying they were off target by 80 odd years?
Hell of an overshot.
Thanks TE.
We’re off to the Parap markets tomorrow, then I think we’ll have a look in the tunnels. Dinner cruise afterwards as is fitting for we lotus eaters.
My first impression of Darwin is very positive. Not quite sure what I expected, but not this. Of course, post Tracey everything was re-built. I still had the images of a flattened town in my mind as we drove in.
What?
Are you insane?
TE did you know the Administrator took off straight away with the money. His assistant who I believe was of chinese extraction got the money back and returned to Darwin to continue his position. A guy I used know wrote something about it in the 80’s.
By the way did people know there is no practical limit to the number of times a 4 year old can say the word ‘trains” after their first visit to a train museum?
As in,
I want to go back to the…
When are we going back to…
Are we going to the…
We go now to the…
and a few hundred variants.
But the http://www.railheritagewa.org.au/museum/pages/bassendean/ museum is a good little 1/2 a day for a kid.
But beware the goblins in the back shed, they called themselves miniature railway enthusiasts but i knew better.
No, it isn’t.
In my case it was mild, but that isn’t true for everyone.
But it was not “the cold” as diagnosed by Dr Nick Riviera earlier.
Calli don’t eat the poorly cooked smallgoods.
when the left say unified, prepare for a wedge
At the rate he is belting through the Tim Tams, we might need a “stand, fall, or roll if necessary” option.
Calli my question was partly tongue in cheek because to argue that scientific materialists have postmodernism as a religion is a ridiculous statement. Every scientist I have known laughs at postmodernism. Most scientists don’t have time for such considerations although neuroscientists would do well to think about the mereological fallacy and materialism is not without its problems. Some “social scientists”(Ha!) may embrace postmodernism but I don’t regard them as scientists.
Man, oh man.
I think I could introduce you to a little bloke who could give him a run for his money with his special chosen obsession … “dinosaurs”.
I think it’s kind of related.
Old trains (particularly steam) and dinosaurs look so foreign as to be almost a fantasy.
Trains vs dinosaurs.
Bring it!
No.
I don’t have that. Nor will I ever have that.
Maybe you can tell me why I will get it. I am all ears.
But it’s from the heart, Zip. Don’t forget that. 🙂
What we got here is learned helplessness.
Treating circumstances as uncontrollable and therefore submitting to them.
An expression I heard again recently is “You are the CEO of your own life”.
If you approach life with the attitude that you will manage every bit of it you can, it is almost impossible to develop the St Ruth “poor fella me” victim mindset.
more like through the heart
If you want the ‘official symptoms’, whatever those might be, google it yourself. I can only speak from my own experience.
One of my symptoms, which I’d never experienced before, was what I described to the Grandies as an empty, hollow space between my ears. (Yeah, yeah, go the rats, Struth. The kids did, too. But at least they were funny.) This non-painful ‘space’ caused slight disorientation and interesting head-rushes. (BTW, my 100% Aussie cleaning lady said that this was one of her symptoms, too.)
But it was the progress of the virus which was unique. Won’t describe it*; I’ve said enough on the subect.
*Unless you ask really nicely.
Lol, That’s what coconut head always says.. “It’s from the heart” These fuckers want to give advice and sit above OUR parliament. This is coming from a shyster who ought to be focused on the social impairment of his people.
A “racist” wedge.
Who is “coconut head”, JC?
GreyRanga says: TE did you know the Administrator took off straight away with the money.
Not true mate. Aubrey Abbott, a hero of the Beersheba Charge, was much disliked around town, especially by unionists, and a lot of rumours were spread about his conduct during and after the raid.
In reality he did depart for Alice Springs – but not until 2 March, nearly two weeks later – and ran the civilian administration of the NT, such as was necessary, as the defence forces took most of it over, for the rest of the war.
Are you in town for the June Long Weekend, Mole?
We are steaming Greenmount out the back on Sunday June 5th.
Bring the little fella to see one actually in motion! 😀
Cats: Beware, someone’s driving down the freeway in the wrong direction!
Struth: Just one? They all are!
That’s funny, Ranga.
(Hope KD and his monkey think so.)
Somehow the jabbed failures in life want to tell me how to live mine.
Sancho, show some respect to people who haven’t jabbed themselves into sickness and death.
You and Ranga both have your hands on it.
Both of you might want to buy a mirror.
And now Delta tells us omnicron causes a space between your ears.
You bastards.
You’ve been having me on all this time.
I knew you couldn’t be that thick…….ok, where’s the camera……where’s the camera?
Speaking of old trains check these guys out…Seven-0-Seven Operations Inc – A moving museum celebrating our rail heritage- heaps fun
Grey Ranga, there must have been three upticks from others between you loading the page and hitting the thumb yourself.
Or you do have superpowers. 🙂
