King Charles told to stay away from Cop27 climate summit by Liz Truss (1 Oct)

King Charles III is said to have intended to deliver the speech at the Cop27 climate change summit.

Liz Truss has reportedly stopped King Charles III from attending the Cop27 Climate summit in Egypt next month. The King is very passionate about the issue and was very vocal about climate change as the Prince of Wales.

He so wants to save the planet. Good on Ms Truss for giving him a rap over the knuckles.

Feminists Attacked at Pro-Abortion Rally for Not Believing Men Can Have Abortions: Reports (1 Oct)

A French feminist group attending a protest in favour of abortion was allegedly attacked in Paris this week, claiming that transgender activists labelling them transphobic were behind the violence.

L’Amazone posted a video of the alleged attack to their Twitter account on Thursday, blaming “transidentitarians” for the violence, saying: “Today, in France, women who are going to demonstrate during the International Day of Struggle for Abortion are being attacked by transidentitarians with complete impunity and with the complicity of the organizers of the march.”

The group stated that they were labelled “TERFs” or trans-exclusionary radical feminists by their attackers, who demanded they leave the demonstration.

Apparently men can now have abortions, and if you dare to say otherwise you will be beaten up by trannies. Surreal.

Hopefully the government abolishing quarantine for the covid positive means more staff are available so there can be more flights, international and domestic.

A woman goes to her priest one day and tells him “Father, I have a problem. I have two female talking parrots, but they only know how to say one thing”. “What do they say?” the priest inquired. “They say ‘Hi, we’re prostitutes. Do you want to have some fun?’” “That’s obscene!” the priest exclaimed.

Then he thought for a moment. “You know” he said “I may have a solution to your problem. I have two male talking parrots whom I have taught to pray and read the bible. Bring your two female parrots over to my house, and we’ll put them in the cage with Francis and Job. My parrots can teach your parrots to praise and worship, and your parrots are sure to stop saying… that phrase… in no time”. “Thank you” the woman responded “this may very well be the solution”.

The next day, she brought her female parrots to the priest’s house. As he ushered her in, she saw that his two male parrots were inside their cage, holding rosary beads and praying. Impressed, she walked over and placed her parrots in with them.

After a few minutes, the female parrots cried out in unison “Hi, we’re prostitutes. Do you want to have some fun?”

There was a stunned silence. Finally, one male parrot looked over at the other male parrot and exclaimed “Put the beads away, Francis, our prayers have been answered!”

I dodged most of the immediate impacts of hurricane Ian. My mates have been loading up relief supplies and dragging them into the impacted areas. They were hit pretty bad.

I generally despise the Red Cross (from previous experience) but I have to admit I’m impressed with their soup kitchens and such which arrived while the hurricane was still doing its thing.

Given a choice tho, I’d donate to the church groups in the US who have taken on hurricane relief as a constant project. They are freaking amazing and are equipped like an Army kitchen that can set up in an hour and be feeding thousands an hour later, all by volunteers and donations.

As in any big storm, the major need afterwards is fresh water. That’s a challenge given the pollution of all water sources by this storm. The national guard and military have deployed reverse osmosis systems, some by parachute, but their capacity was never designed to replace what they are being asked to.

The fate of conservatism in an age of illegitimacy

Conservatism, in any normal understanding of the word, depends upon a generally acknowledged and widely shared sense of legitimacy if it is to survive.

Absent the authority of legitimacy, conservatism has nothing to conserve. It floats anchorless. In so far as its habits, rituals, and formalities persist, they contract into increasingly antiquarian gestures, detached from the vital pulse of lived experience. In such situations, conservatism degenerates into a largely rhetorical exercise. It mouths the same pieties that once rallied the troops, but it does so nervously, either without conviction or with that brittle belligerence that substitutes for conviction in decadent times.

There are several ways in which a regime can declare its illegitimacy. One way is when its governing apparatus becomes detached from or is at odds with the laws and mores that define it. This can happen, in fact it usually does happen, even when a soothing political rhetoric assures the public that everything is just fine, that the canons of our forefathers are just as operative today as they were in the past.

Examples are not far to seek.

Ronald Reagan is out of fashion these days, but I think that the fortieth President of the United States was right when he observed that “Democracy is less a system of government than it is a system to keep government limited, unintrusive: A system,” Reagan continued, “of constraints on power to keep politics and government secondary to the important things in life, the true sources of value found only in family and faith.”

Whether what Reagan says is true of democracy itself is something that we might, with Tocqueville, and with sadness, want to question. Too often democracy has been prey to deformations that encourage rather than retard the growth of government.

Illegitimacy occurs when there is serious disjunction between precept and actual behavior. Article I of the Constitution vests all legislative power in the Congress. But for many decades now, Congress has been assiduous in avoiding that duty

Indeed, Americans today find their lives directed by a jumble of agencies far removed from the legislature and staffed by bureaucrats who make and enforce a vast network of rules that govern nearly every aspect of our lives.

A closer look at the so-called “knowledge class” shows that what it knows best is how to preserve and extend its own privileges. Its activities are swaddled in do-gooder rhetoric about serving the public, looking after “the environment,” helping the disadvantaged, fighting racism, and similar performative kindnesses. But what they chiefly excel at is consolidating and extending their own power.

That discovery stands behind the growth of the administrative state. We still vote. We still have a bicameral legislature. But the institutions that govern our politics are increasing decadent: that is, they are empty shells that merely look like their democratic originals. As Tocqueville noted in his analysis of governmental paternalism, “Almost all the rulers who have tried to destroy freedom have at first attempted to preserve its forms.”

One sign of that decadence is the resignation that now greets every fresh assault on the impartiality upon which the rule of law, and hence liberty, depend.

Remember what happened to Mike Flynn? He was set up by the FBI and then lost his job as national security advisor and was bankrupted trying to defend himself. What happened to Kevin Clinesmith? In 2020, he pleaded guilty to doctoring the email and was sentenced to probation. What Clinesmith did is a felony. Usually, a lawyer who is convicted of a felony is disbarred. Clinesmith got probation.

It’s all part of our two-tier, which is to say, illegitimate system of putative justice. If you are a Deplorable, you do not have the same rights and privileges that the elite have.

Today, the Left says things they would hitherto only have thought, and does things that they would hitherto only have said. It used to be that there was a certain latitude accorded to opposing views. That’s all over now. What we see is the triumph not just of political correctness but also of visceral intolerance that nurtures a “by-any-means-necessary” attitude. Every issue is an existential emergency for which the Left’s shock troops are willing to go to the wall.

The Right’s problem has been that it was too frightened by the Left to respond effectively. Deep down, many on the right secretly agreed that only the Left was allowed to win. In some precincts, anyway, that may be changing.

The second thing worth bearing in mind is that this novel exhibition of backbone by the Right is down almost entirely to Donald Trump. The promiscuous desire to be liked is a common character flaw. Donald Trump does not suffer from that disability.

Donald Trump’s governing passion can be summed up in one word: winning. Similarly, his path to that goal can be summed up in one word: fighting. He showed the Right that it was OK to win and that the way to win was to stand up for the things you professed to care about.

The third choice is the perhaps paradoxical option of we might call Alinskyite conservatism, after the canny left-wing activist Saul Alinsky. This option eschews the quietism of surrender for the activism of what Trump called “winning.”

How is this to be accomplished? One major goal must be to downgrade the place of Washington, the spirit as well as the city, in the metabolism of American political life. Legitimacy is draining out of our governing institutions at an alarming rate. Stanching that debilitating flow requires that we redirect our attention away from the greedy puppet show in Washington to the true source of legitimacy, which is with the people. As I have suggested elsewhere, we might start by moving the next presidential inauguration out of Washington altogether.

There are messy ways that other countries throughout history have dealt with a regime party that is thoroughly corrupt. The process is seldom edifying, even if, in the end, it is cathartic. A kinder, gentler alternative would be to treat Washington, D.C. as Hercules did the Augean Stables. I doubt that the Potomac, suitably diverted, would sport enough water to do the job, but moving the government, piece by piece, out of Washington, beginning with the ceremonial occasion of the inauguration, might be the least expensive, and least sanguinary, alternative.

Welcome To Country is a nice thing to have, you’ve gotta be a mean spirited misery guts not to acknowledge that.

I recently participated in a Teleconference which involved Public Servants from all around the Country.

Of course, a Welcome to Country from the Chair, before opening remarks. Then throughout the whole meeting, when one or other of the numerous Public Servants raised their cyber hand to speak, they each did a separate Welcome to Country prior to making their point…because they were ‘broadcasting’ from the lands of a different tribe. I dare say they felt obliged because of strict departmental policy, though I’m in no doubt that many were true believers.

Random Welcome to Country’s thrown in throughout the meeting, and it took up a significant portion of the whole meeting.

It was a fucking joke, and quite reflective of the level of ridiculous to which we have now climbed. Lucky my camera wasn’t on, or they may have been able to lip read the many “What The Fuck’s!” which entered my muted microphone.

US is overreaching in Ukraine – Washington Examiner

All empires overreach themselves. Even if, like the United States, they aren’t empires in the traditional sense. This get-out clause began to lose its credibility around the time of the Monroe Doctrine and should not be taken seriously by a thinking person or even a career politician. As the nature of power projection changes, so the nature of empire changes. Power is not only projected by military strength or subjugating populations. It is also projected by influence over local elites and by control over resources, communications, currencies, and systems of economic exchange.

The war with Russia in Ukraine demonstrates America’s quasi-imperial reach. But it also shows how the country’s strategic goals are beyond its grasp. The Biden administration’s stated goal in Ukraine is to force Russia to withdraw entirely from Ukrainian territory. The administration’s unstated goals are to destroy Russia’s military and economy, harden the European Union’s eastern border, permanently establish NATO garrisons on Russia’s doorstep, and, as President Joe Biden stated openly when he visited Poland, bring down Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Our docile media repeat the administration’s line that we are not really at war with Russia, but we are. The administration has used the global financial system as a weapon of economic warfare against Russia. The proxies in our supposed proxy war include not just Ukrainian troops, but also American technology and American troops. The Ukrainian military’s communications are protected from Russian jamming because they use Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite. The American government is paying American manufacturers to send state-of-the-art weaponry to Ukraine in order to destroy Russian equipment and kill Russian soldiers. American soldiers train Ukrainians in the use of the HIMARS rocket artillery system.

Every administration since the Truman presidency inherits the assets of global influence. Most cannot resist the impulse to spend it. Few spend it wisely. The Biden administration is squandering it out of arrogance and panic.

As of this week, Congress will have sent $65 billion to Ukraine. Russia continues to control most of southern and eastern Ukraine, and Putin very much remains in power.

Biden and Putin are playing chicken over Ukraine. The player who will blink first is Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany. Winter is coming.

Biden’s economic warfare might not have beaten Russia, but it’s driving America’s European allies into a recession. It’s not doing much for Americans, either. The dollar gets almightier by the day as the tired, poor, and huddled masses of foreign investors seek a safe haven for their pounds, euros, and yen. Prices of imports rise with it. Meanwhile, rising energy prices have boosted Russia’s energy export earnings by 38% this year. Russian oil exports have risen by 12% despite six rounds of economic sanctions.

The U.S. is fighting a war on the other side of Europe that it cannot win, and the Europeans don’t want a war at all. This is the very definition of overreach

I recently participated in a Teleconference which involved Public Servants from all around the Country.

Too stupid to survive.

My wife, who is the caring Member of our family, has also become sick and tired of “Welcome to Country” – as a descendent from the 1st Fleet, it is her/mine/all of our country

The positive point to take from the Football Match, is that more Australians are sick and tired of “Welcome to Country” and it will push them to NO in Voice

Proceeding from these simple and very logical points, let me ask the representative of the United States this one thing. Can you confirm, here and now, that your country has nothing to do with this sabotage?

Colleagues, of course we do not expect to identify and punish the perpetrators today. The Security Council is not a judiciary body and should assume no such tasks. So Russia stands for a comprehensive investigation that should clarify the true circumstances of what happened with the pipeline.

Today, we very much like to hear the opinion of our European colleagues, learn your official position. We hope that you will abstain from Russophobic and senseless spiel which you resorted to when we were talking about attacks on the Zaporozhye NPP by Ukrainian armed forces. Or should we anticipate a statement where you will say that after the “masochistic” shelling of the ZNPP where our forces are deployed, we started exploding our own pipelines?

It is obvious that a sabotage of such scale and complexity cannot be carried out by ordinary terrorists. We consider the assault against the Nord Stream pipeline as a premeditated sabotage of Russia’s key energy infrastructure facility. Such attack could not have been carried out without involvement of state or state-controlled entities. We will surely identify all who were complicit in this sabotage. Those who stood behind it cannot be considered as a non-side in an armed conflict. Neither can they count on a neutral status that Western states already violated. Besides, an international investigation of the incident can only claim to be objective if Russian experts take part in it. Also, we believe the investigation should involve not only Denmark and Sweden, but also representatives of the German side, because Germany is the main recipient of the LNG transported by the Nord Stream.

If involvement of certain states in those terrorist attacks is proven, this will mean deliberate escalation of the conflict. Colleagues, I hope all in this chamber realize to what dangerous line the perpetrators of this sabotage are driving us.

Thank you.

In response to the representative of the United States:

Mr.President,

I thank my American colleague for giving a straightforward answer to my question.

I asked: “Can you confirm here and now that your country has nothing to do with this sabotage?” What my American colleague has just said in this chamber is that the United States denies any involvement in this incident. I appreciate his response. But now that I have heard what you and also our British colleague said, I would like to ask another question. What exactly do you call Russian disinformation and conspiracy theories? We did not call anyone responsible before the investigation. We just cited some facts. You cannot deny that your president said what he said publicly, can you? We just provided some quotes of what he said.

NATO exercise BALTOPS in June 2022 near the island of Bornholm is a fact. Former Foreign Minister of Poland R.Sikorski publishing the tweet that I showed you, where he thanked the US for what had happened at the pipe is a fact. Launch of the Baltic Pipe connecting Norway and Poland is a fact. NATO speaking about sabotage and inadmissibility of strikes against its infrastructure is yet another fact. Those are mere facts. Are you going to argue that the current energy crisis objectively makes American energy suppliers more competitive? Is it also a conspiracy theory? No, this is economic reality. And objectively, the United States benefits from it in economic terms.

Finally, before our American colleague took the floor today, we had not thought of the Nord Stream incident as something connected to the situation around Ukraine. But now we see that our European colleagues perceive this sabotage, whoever may have committed it, as some sort of revenge for Russia’s actions in Ukraine. Well, I think this inference narrows down the list of suspects and can be of great help in the investigation.

Thank you.

Teenager who allegedly attacked terrified pregnant mother in Ashfield refused bail
Holly Thompson
By Holly Thompson
September 30, 2022 — 4.20pm

A 15-year-old girl was already on bail when she allegedly attacked a pregnant woman pushing a pram with two children inside in Perth’s north-east earlier this month.

At about 12.40pm on September 5 the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, allegedly pulled the 37-year-old pregnant mother to the ground by wrenching her hair in Ashfield.

Shocking CCTV footage shows a teenage pulling a Perth mum to the ground and allegedly stealing her handbag.

CCTV footage released by West Australian Police allegedly shows the teenager pulling the woman’s hair from behind causing her to fall over — upturning the pram with two-year-old twin girls inside in the process — then dragging her backwards along the ground.

The girl was refused bail again in the Perth Children’s Court on Friday.

Police prosecutor Bradley Hollingsworth told the court the victim had received serious scrapes and bruising to her face, head and neck.

Later that same day, the teenager also allegedly snatched a mobile phone from an 11-year-old girl.

Hollingsworth also revealed the accused had been released on bail on September 3 for three other robbery-related offences with a co-accused.

The offending had also allegedly involved attacking vulnerable people in a similar manner.

As part of her bail conditions, the 15-year-old was not to be in contact with her co-accused but was found to be living in the same house as her.

She was also required to move to Geraldton by September 30.

She appeared in Perth Children’s Court on September 30 via video link from Banksia Hill Detention Centre, with her lawyer Sally Oliver ready to make a second bail application on her client’s behalf.

Oliver said her client had spent close to a month in custody away from her father, who lives in Geraldton with a serious heart condition, and was distressed she was not with him.

She said the teenager had stable accommodation in Geraldton and when she was in Perth she was spending time with peers who were a negative influence.

Her time in Banksia Hill Detention Centre has also been tough, Oliver said.

She recounted a detention management report that had shown her client had severe suicidal idealisation and attempted self-harm.

The teenager was also reported for issues with property damage, behaving in a threatening manner and being out of bounds.

Secondly, Emma is in fact part………… Asian. The mix has clearly retained elements of her figure essential for the trade, and she is extremely intelligent. I was being a smart arse the other day and quoted some of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet to her the other day – But soft! What light from yonder window breaks? ‘Tis the east, and Emma is the Sun – and though I’d nailed it.

On my way out later, she fired right back with: Good night, good night! parting is such sweet sorrow, That I shall say good night till it be morrow.

A slight nod of acknowledgment passed between us, and I was on my way.

Ashli Babbitt was not a victim or a passive observer. She was first to the Speakers Lobby doors. She led the attempted insurrection, literally.

That Epoch Times piece is a bunch of nonsense. If that is your whole argument, you have nothing.

Babbitt may have been stupid rather than evil, but the line between the two was fairly blurred among the rioters that day. Either way, Lt. Byrd saved more lives than he took that day.

Oliver said her client had spent close to a month in custody away from her father, who lives in Geraldton with a serious heart condition, and was distressed she was not with him.

No mention of his distress that she’d clearly rather be out attacking pregnant women and two-year-olds than at his bedside.

She said the teenager had stable accommodation in Geraldton and when she was in Perth she was spending time with peers who were a negative influence.

Then don’t spend time with those peers. This person is apparently of sufficient age, and has the mental acumen to undergo gender reassignment surgery.

She recounted a detention management report that had shown her client had severe suicidal idealisation and attempted self-harm.

She did not commit a crime which carries the death penalty.

You have no proof she was leading an “insurrection”. You cannot get shot for trespassing. The cops made no attempt to restrain her. They did not give a lawful order to stop did they?

She was shot like a feral dog.

That Epoch Times piece is a bunch of nonsense. If that is your whole argument, you have nothing.

The Epoch Times piece has verifiable information as opposed to your speculation.

The World Game (the Hun):

At least 120 fans have been killed and 180 others injured after supporters clashed following an Indonesian league football match.

Supporters of the Javanese clubs Arema and Persebaya Surabaya clashed after Arema were defeated 3-2 at the match in Malang Regency, East Java. Malang Regency health office chief Wiyanto Wijoyo said officials were still collating the numbers of injured victims but confirmed more than 120 supporters had died.

“More than 120 people died, they died of chaos, overcrowding, trampling and suffocation,” Wiyanto said. Up to 180 others have been injured and taken to different local hospitals.

No mention of the ref being called a bald-headed flog, which would have been far worse. Obviously.

The Indonesian league has been suspended for a week as a result of the deadly incident.

Well, that’s all right then.

That any indigenous languages survive at all is mainly due to missionaries who, with the collaboration of knowledgable aboriginals, produced dictionaries and grammars with the ultimate aim of translating the Bible. These efforts go as far back as the 1830s and persisted even when governments were trying to stamp out the use of local languages. You won’t find many leftists who are aware of this, let alone prepared to acknowedge the role the missionaries played in preserving language.

Mr Clennell said the state’s cabinet is “now waiting for the federal government to match the funding to announce a package”.

A little boy goes to his dad and asks “What is politics?” Dad says “Well son, let me try to explain it this way: I’m the breadwinner of the family, so let’s call me capitalism. Your mum, she’s the administrator of the money, so we’ll call her the Government. We’re here to take care of your needs, so we’ll call you the people. The nanny, we’ll consider her the Working Class. And your baby brother, we’ll call him the Future. Now, think about that and see if that makes sense”.

So the little boy goes off to bed thinking about what dad had said.

Later that night, he hears his baby brother crying, so he gets up to check on him. He finds that the baby has severely soiled his diaper. So the little boy goes to his parents’ room and finds his mother sound asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny’s room.

Finding the door locked, he peeks in the keyhole and sees his father in bed with the nanny. He gives up and goes back to bed.

The next morning, the little boy says to his father “Dad, I think I understand the concept of politics now”. The father says “Good son, tell me in your own words what you think politics is all about”. The little boy replies “Well, while Capitalism is screwing the Working Class, the Government is sound asleep, the People are being ignored and the Future is in deep shit”.

That’s not the policy.

The policy is to force Europe off traditional energy sources at any and all costs. Even if it means freezing thousands to death and ruining Europe’s economy for years. Using Ukraine is the proxy.

So, in that respect the policy is proving very successful. Especially with NS1&2 taken out. All good, until something breaks and Russia drops a nuke. That is the direction the US is taking us. Happy now?

And Russia has just formally annexed Ukrainian territory into the Russian Federation, including a bunch of places they just lost on the battlefield!
