Football Australia promises ‘strong and swift action’ against Nazi-saluting fans

Same problem at games in Hong Kong. Stand up and look solemn when the Chinese national anthem is played.

They send plain clothes narks on to the ground who face the crowd and take shots of those who laugh, give Nazi salutes or make noise.

Deplorables everywhere.

NSW’s hidden psychological experiment revealed
A ‘clandestine’ team of government workers who used psychology to “nudge” behaviour and increase compliance during the pandemic has been called into question.

That’s a headline at the Telegraph. I assume it’s about the Behavioural Insights Unit.
Chilling inferences and I don’t trust the NSW govt to be anything but sneaky.

Polls are bullshit. Nearly all of them are becoming leftwing tools to lie and help the cheating. For the past several months all we’ve seen was how Lula was going to handily beat the incumbent. Now… looksee.

Brazil braces for run-off as Bolsonaro beats expectations

It is an unexpectedly strong election result for combative ex-army captain Jair Bolsonaro – and for Brazil’s far-right – against frontrunner Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Popular but tarnished is how the Leftwinger is described. FMD

Brazil’s bitterly divisive presidential election is headed for a run-off on October 30 as incumbent Jair Bolsonaro beat expectations to finish a closer-than-expected second to frontrunner Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Lula, the veteran leftist seeking a presidential comeback, had 48.4 percent of the vote to 43.2 percent for the far-right president with more than 99 percent of polling station results in, according to the Superior Electoral Tribunal.

It was an unexpectedly strong result for combative ex-army captain Bolsonaro – and for Brazil’s far-right, which also had surprise good showings in a series of key Congressional and governors’ races.

Lula, the popular but tarnished ex-president who led Brazil from 2003 to 2010, had been the favorite to win the race – possibly in a single round.

On the eve of the election, leading polling firm Datafolha had given Lula 50 percent of the vote to 36 percent for Bolsonaro.

The Hasids and Lubavitchers were at odds and came to blows in Brooklyn about 25 years ago — if memory serves it was sparked by one or other being spotted riding a bus on Shabbos.

I suppose that relates to the Sabbath restriction on lighting fires? I’ve heard that there are some ultra-orthodox communities in Jerusalem which pelt cars with stones if they are driven on the Sabbath as the internal-combustion engine is powered by a series of “fires”.

Would the Rabbi’s journey have been kosher if he was travelling on an electric bus?

Roberts attended Huntingtower Road Primary School and won a scholarship to Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School, a grammar school.[6][14] Her school reports showed hard work and continual improvement; her extracurricular activities included the piano, field hockey, poetry recitals, swimming and walking.[15] She was head girl in 1942–43,[16] and outside school, while the Second World War was ongoing, she voluntarily worked as a fire watcher in the local ARP service.[17] Other students thought of Roberts as the “star scientist”, although mistaken advice regarding cleaning ink from parquetry almost caused chlorine gas poisoning. In her upper sixth year Roberts was accepted for a scholarship to study chemistry at Somerville College, Oxford, a women’s college, starting in 1944. After another candidate withdrew, Roberts entered Oxford in October 1943.[18][13]

A man walking along a California beach was deep in prayer.

All of a sudden, he said out loud “Lord, grant me one wish”.

Suddenly the sky clouded above his head and in a booming voice the Lord said “Because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish”. The man said “Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can drive over anytime I want”.

The Lord said “Your request is very materialistic. Think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking. The supports that would be required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of another wish, a wish you think would honour and glorify Me”.

The man thought about it for a long time.

Finally, he said “Lord, I wish that I could understand women. I want to know how they feel inside, what they are thinking when they give me the silent treatment, why they cry, what they mean when they say ‘nothing’, and how I can make a woman truly happy”.

The Lord replied “You want two lanes or four on that bridge?”

I posted something earlier. I don’t think there’s a great deal of tension these two banks are going bust. Sure, there is that fear, but I think it more to do with the fact both need to do heavy duty recaps and consequent existing shareholder dilution. I can’t believe what’s happened to CS. I worked there for a long time and it was a profitable bank. Clients would trade with us because of our high credit rating. There have been missteps after missteps for past 10 years or so. If it turns really sour the two banks will be bailed out, but the current shareholders will be zeroed.

The Federal Reserve Is Raising Interest Rates – Get Used To It

“The title speaks for itself. The Fed is going to continue raising rates until inflation shows notable improvement. Some still question whether the Fed will ease on its hawkish policies, but there is absolutely every indication to believe they will continue at full speed. Core PCE rose 4.9% in August from the year prior and increased 0.6% for the month.

Before the aforementioned data was released, Chicago Federal Reserve President Charles Evans said he was “cautiously optimistic” that the US could avoid a recession. “There are lags in monetary policy and we have moved expeditiously. We have done three 75 basis point increases in a row and there is a talk of more to get to that 4.25% to 4.5% by the end of the year, you’re not leaving much time to sort of look at each monthly release,” Evans, who is set to retire next year, said.

The truth of the matter is that the White House simply changed the definition of a recession. The majority is hurting financially right now, and I don’t think we need the talking heads to tell us that we are already in a recession. The typical analysis looks only at domestic conditions, but internationally, most central banks are in the process of raising rates and backtracking on failed QE policies.

Every month there are reports of the market being “spooked” by rate hikes. People come on TV and act surprised that the Fed has the audacity to raise rates yet again. Why? Powell stated in every possible way that the FOMC will raise rates for “some time.” In Powell language, that means rates will continue to rise for a while. The computer foresees havoc going into 2023. Things must get worse before they become better. Unemployment must rise, rates must go higher, and you must adjust your strategy accordingly.”

It does sound from this today’s WSJ piece that it’s more like I suggested. The recap is going to screw the existing shareholders. CS has a ton of liquidity and they maybe lying, but I don’t really think so.

Credit Suisse CS 0.00%? Group AG tried to assuage fears about its health in a memo to employees and in a round of phone calls to investors and clients over the weekend, according to people familiar with the matter.

Credit Suisse shares are down 21% this month and spreads on its credit-default swaps, a type of insurance against default, rose to their highest level of the year on Friday. The deteriorated market condition indicates that Credit Suisse could struggle to raise new shares to pay for a planned restructuring and that its funding costs could rise sharply.

There hasn’t been a formal approach to any shareholders about issuing new shares, the people familiar with the matter said.

Credit Suisse in late July said it would refashion its investment bank and exit some other businesses to become a leaner, less risky institution, following financial disasters that included a $5.1 billion hit last year from client Archegos Capital Management.

The Swiss bank has a large domestic business serving all types of customers and competes globally in wealth management, investment banking and asset management. Its stock has traded below book value, a commonly followed metric by investors, for years as a succession of executive teams struggled to contain problems within the bank.

In a memo to staff on Friday, Chief Executive Ulrich Körner told employees that the bank is at a critical moment before it presents a strategy update outlining plans for the investment bank on Oct. 27. He said not to confuse its stock price performance with its capital strength and liquidity.

The memo appeared to spark fresh concerns and spilled into an online frenzy on Twitter and on Reddit investment discussion boards on Saturday and Sunday.

In talking points updated on Sunday for its bankers and relationship managers, Credit Suisse said it has close to a $100 billion capital buffer and continues to expect a 13% to 14% ratio for its highest quality equity capital through the rest of the year.

According to the points, viewed by The Wall Street Journal, Credit Suisse’s high quality liquid assets were around $238 billion at the end of June. That hasn’t changed materially since then, a person familiar with the matter said. Credit Suisse’s leverage exposure was around $873 billion at the end of June, according to its second-quarter financial statements.

Some of the investor concern around Credit Suisse’s health has centered around its leveraged finance portfolios, which the bank said totaled $5.9 billion at June 30. It was among the top lenders to the leveraged buyout of Citrix Systems Inc., a deal that left a consortium of banks with losses.

Another area of focus is its securitized products group, with around $75 billion in gross exposure to mortgage bonds and asset finance. In July, Credit Suisse said it could bring down the capital funding the group with an outside investor, but hasn’t signed a deal yet.

Mr. Körner in his memo Friday compared Credit Suisse to a rising phoenix that will be sustainable for the long term. The bank was founded by entrepreneur-financier Alfred Escher in 1856.

The bank is Switzerland’s second-largest by assets, after UBS Group AG, which faced its own existential crisis and needed a government bailout in the 2008 financial crisis, followed by a major restructuring. UBS has since emerged as the stronger of the pair.

The leverage appears to be pretty low.

Over the long weekend several Chinese families/couples have stayed at the motel, which is a sensible alternative to staying in Canberra (at least $100 a night saving). This is after a long drought during the COVID period. There have also been Koreans and the ubiquitous Indians.

They are, for the most part, well behaved guests. The proprietor told me today that the most annoying ones are locals that call her every few hours to let her know how close they are to arriving. It seems to be an offshoot of the culture where people text each other every 10 minutes to let their friends know where they are and what they are doing.

The dad replies “Well son those are condoms and they’re for protection when you’re having sex”. The son then picks up one of the packs and ask why it has three condoms in it. The dad replies “Those are for high school boys one for Friday one for Saturday and one for Sunday”. The son then picks up one with six condoms and ask “Why six? “The dad replies “Well son those are for uni students – two for Friday, two for Saturday and two for Sunday”. The son then notices the 12 pack of condoms and asks the same question. The dad replies “Son those are for married men one for January, one for February, one for March…”

Yurii Vitrenko, the head of the state gas company Naftogaz, said indoor temperatures would be set at between 17 and 18C, about four degrees lower than normal, and he advised people to stock up on blankets and warm clothes for when outdoor temperatures fall to and beyond the -10C winter average.

“Heating season”, the period when the central heating is on, will come later and end earlier, said Vitrenko.

The target depends on Ukraine’s international allies giving it the necessary funds to import 4bn cubic metres-worth of gas, as well as no wildcards playing out – such as Russia destroying gas infrastructure or further decreasing its gas supplies to Europe.

“Without the [western] financial support we will lack gas and it will mean we’ll have really high risks for the power system [going] down,” Vitrenko said. He described how Naftogaz backed up some of Ukraine’s power companies with gas in March when coal supplies were halted by the war. “[Otherwise] there would have been no electricity,” he said.

“Speaking from bomb-shattered ruins in Irpin and Bucha near the capital Kyiv, UNHCR High Commissioner, Filippo Grandi warned that winter was only around the corner: “And winters in Ukraine are very harsh and severe, extremely cold. So, we must do everything possible to prevent the cold of winter from becoming the next challenge for people that already have to face so much in their lives.”

Makka

Fisk, the very bottom line is this;

It’s no longer about who will win in Ukraine. It’s gone far beyond that now. Much bigger risks are in play.

What it is about now is how much is our mentally retarded , corrupt deviant western leadership willing to risk in pushing Russia towards capitulation? Or quite probably disintegration? Now , we know how completely inept these morons are yet we (the citizens in the west) are forced to trust these utter scumbags. And if their judgement is wrong , that risk is potentially a nuclear exchange.

That to me is far FAR too big a risk to entrust to these idiot corruptocrats to get right. These are the very same psychogrubs who gave us the Covid mandates and the corruption and brutality that accompanied it, the imposition of the LGBTQI deviant ideology and its oppressive corruption of our education systems and children, the conspiracy with big tech to impose censorship of any and all opposing opinions, the ruining of our economies with their AGW scam. The same grubs who steal elections.

We are traversing a very dangerous period and cheering for the demented team that intends to provoke a nuclear launch is an obscenity. The Donbass is and never was worth the serious risk of a nuclear exchange. Although the frothing mouth pro-Biden/left/EU media will have you believe it’s a cause worth that same risk.

The real concern is the machinations of the EU and the US , both of which seem determined to ramp things up.

Luckily, the EU is now facing an energy crisis, which they brought on themselves with just a nudge or two from Putin. It’s hard to fight a war when your own country is about to run out of electricity and petrol. Especially when it is because of your own laws (the net zero nonsense).

Putin has done us a big favour by highlighting the unicorn fart underpinning of Green fantasists.

I don’t think that Europe will collapse, although parts of it may. The pragmatic Dutch, the fierce Hungarians, the self-serving French, the proud Poles – and so on. Each will find their own way, and sacrificing to Germany will drop down the menu list of options.

Well there’s potentially a lot of loot on the table. They don’t care about Uke “democracy” and “freedom”(there isn’t any), they want Russia to disintegrate so they can loot the place like they did during the 1990’s.

Spot on. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the Western (read USA) response has provided a once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to finish off Russia. The collapse of the USSR was only a portion of the desired ‘solution’. Mineral resources in Russia are beyond vast – they are effectively incalculable – and the reorganisation of the current Russian Federation into, say, eight or nine new autonomous countries (like the ‘Stans’) presents a mouth watering prospect for some in the West. China can then be largely sidelined from a resource and manufacturing perspective as those new countries friendly to the West, will see hundreds of billions (trillions over time) of sponsored dollars into new industry. Consequently, China’s capacity to be a global ‘bad actor’ is severely curtailed as its economy falls and cuts must be made to its expansionist plans.

For the West. it is a trifecta: 1 – Russia is destroyed and can never rise as a federation again to threaten the West; 2 – new West friendly countries are created giving access to incredible resources; 3 – China is nobbled as they can no longer afford their expansionist plans.

(yeah, I know, plenty can go wrong with this scenario).

Citizens for Sanity

“Citizens for Sanity is trolling American Progressives by promoting their woke ideologies to show just how asinine the thinking has become.

The mission statement:

‘Citizens for Sanity’s mission is to return common sense to America, to highlight the importance of logic and reason, and to defeat “wokeism” and anti-critical thinking ideologies that have permeated every sector of our country and threaten the very freedoms that are foundational to the American Dream.’

These advertisements are clearly parodies, but they show what the far-left would like to normalize. They even call out individual politicians:

– In Atlanta, GA: “Thank you, Senator Warnock, for voting to keep violent criminals out of jail. Gang members need to earn a living too.”

– “Thank you, Senator Warnock, for voting to keep violent predators out of jail. Unmasked toddlers are the real criminals.”

– In Las Vegas, NV: “Thank you, Catherine Cortez Masto, for voting to keep our border open. Drug cartels need all the help they can get.”

– In Phoenix, AZ: “Thank you, Mark Kelly, for voting to keep our borders open. The drugs aren’t going to smuggle themselves.”

– In Epping, NH: “Thank you, Senator Hassan, for voting to keep our border open. Drug cartels need all the help they can get.”

– In Philadelphia: “Thank you, John Fetterman, for fighting to keep violent criminals out of jail. Gang members need to earn a living too.”

– In Miami, FL: Thank you, Val Demings, for fighting to keep violent criminals out of jail.”

The organization goes on to attack the IRS: “If you do not like being audited then you’re the problem.”

“Too much freedom is a bad thing. Get your IRS audit today.”

These advertisements are a good laugh, but in truth, they are a direct reflection of how woke culture is destroying America. There is no logic or reason behind the woke agenda, and yet, politicians are pandering to support it in an effort to seem “progressive.” America must restore its sanity.”

“Thank you labore cretins, for importing yet more violent useless braindead moozley fuckwits who in any just world would have been strung up like the nayzees after Nuremburg. Australians need to have more of their income stolen to support these vile disgusting stone age savages, while being incessantly denounced as waycists.”

Be aware you’re being BAD by not going to see a movie:

Bros writer and actor Billy Eichner took to Twitter on Sunday to reflect on the disappointing performance of his gay romcom at the box office following its opening weekend.

The 44-year-old actor-comedian issued a series of tweets about the film, which is the first LGBTQ romantic comedy given a large release by a major studio.

Despite a $22million production budget and rave reviews, the film took in just $4.8million and landed fourth place at the US box office….

He said that ‘even with glowing reviews, great Rotten Tomatoes scores, an A CinemaScore etc, straight people, especially in certain parts of the country, just didn’t show up for Bros. And that’s disappointing but it is what it is.’

Eichner said that ‘everyone who ISN’T a homophobic weirdo should go see BROS tonight’ as ‘it *is* special and uniquely powerful to see this particular story on a big screen, esp for queer folks who don’t get this opportunity often.’

Daily Mail, with Eichner in a pink suit and a head tilt.

OK, so you ARE speculating after all that Putin will resort to a nuclear first strike if he loses a conventional war that he started.

Don’t be intentionally dumb. What I’m speculating is that inept/corrupt western leaders will fuck up and press this war into Russia and attempt to destroy the Russian Federation , thereby PROVOKING a nuclear exchange. The west is provoking Russia into a nuke launch in that scenario. If you think that is a smart or wise strategy then you’re a lunatic.

JC – trust me on this. The Scrubes might be a lot of things (barking mad for starters), but I can’t recall him being described as anywhere near as boring as Hugh Mackay and Bernard Salt.

I think the Poot should do an underground nuke test in their test area. It is detectable as such by the West. The message is – MY nukes work, do yours?
No damage to anybody, just a message.

IIRC, the US were setting off nukes in the South Pacific during the Cuban Missile Crisis?

Interesting on the gay romp film….

The Buzz Lightyear movie (that, some versions, has a lezzo kiss scene in it) has also flopped at the box office and might not break even…

Although one woke j’smist wrote that low intake was “due to covid concerns and an upset public due to lezzo scene being deleted in some countries”

I wasn’t completely surprised when, a few months ago, my boss wrote me an email and I noticed that she’d put an Aboriginal and TSI flag in her signature block and a “recognition of country.” Then, today, I see her email signature has expanded to include “she/her.”

I guess, next up, I can expect a UKR flag followed by some statement on the climate emergency?

Signature blocks = the new ponzi scheme.
