I note, though, at least in the US you can have a debate about abortion.
Here in Australia, you can’t even get the data on aborted babies and nor can you even start the debate.
Polls are bullshit. Nearly all of them are becoming leftwing tools to lie and help the cheating. For the past several months all we’ve seen was how Lula was going to handily beat the incumbent. Now… looksee.
Popular but tarnished is how the Leftwinger is described. FMD
I recall one Lib MP in WA asked the McClown govt why at least 5 babies who were born as a result of a “failed abortion” were left alone on a Joondalup hospital tray to die. No MSM followed up.

The leftwing lunatic, according to Lake, supports the killing of a kid that survives an abortion. How the fuck is that not outright murder? You don’t even have to be anti-abortion to be repulsed by such a view.
I suppose that relates to the Sabbath restriction on lighting fires? I’ve heard that there are some ultra-orthodox communities in Jerusalem which pelt cars with stones if they are driven on the Sabbath as the internal-combustion engine is powered by a series of “fires”.

Ahhhh yes, that old canard “far-right”….now everyone who’s not on the left is now far-right and the smear “far-right” is designed to shout down and silence people. Even ordinary Australians who attend CPAC are “far-right”.
It is laughable, but the thing is….it isn’t very funny.
I should add JC, that isn’t just polls that are bullshit, the real problem is the MSM.
Yep, Cassie.
Here we go again.

A man walking along a California beach was deep in prayer.
All of a sudden, he said out loud “Lord, grant me one wish”.
Suddenly the sky clouded above his head and in a booming voice the Lord said “Because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish”. The man said “Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can drive over anytime I want”.
The Lord said “Your request is very materialistic. Think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking. The supports that would be required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of another wish, a wish you think would honour and glorify Me”.
The man thought about it for a long time.
Finally, he said “Lord, I wish that I could understand women. I want to know how they feel inside, what they are thinking when they give me the silent treatment, why they cry, what they mean when they say ‘nothing’, and how I can make a woman truly happy”.
The Lord replied “You want two lanes or four on that bridge?”

I posted something earlier. I don’t think there’s a great deal of tension these two banks are going bust. Sure, there is that fear, but I think it more to do with the fact both need to do heavy duty recaps and consequent existing shareholder dilution. I can’t believe what’s happened to CS. I worked there for a long time and it was a profitable bank. Clients would trade with us because of our high credit rating. There have been missteps after missteps for past 10 years or so. The US Dollar is very strong, which may means there could be a Dollar shortage developing around the world and there may need to be some lending program set up for the ECB etc to counter the liquidity issue.

The Federal Reserve Is Raising Interest Rates – Get Used To It
“The title speaks for itself. The Fed is going to continue raising rates until inflation shows notable improvement. Some still question whether the Fed will ease on its hawkish policies, but there is absolutely every indication to believe they will continue at full speed. Core PCE rose 4.9% in August from the year prior and increased 0.6% for the month.
Before the aforementioned data was released, Chicago Federal Reserve President Charles Evans said he was “cautiously optimistic” that the US could avoid a recession. “There are lags in monetary policy and we have moved expeditiously. We have done three 75 basis point increases in a row and there is a talk of more to get to that 4.25% to 4.5% by the end of the year, you’re not leaving much time to sort of look at each monthly release,” Evans, who is set to retire next year, said.
The truth of the matter is that the White House simply changed the definition of a recession. The majority is hurting financially right now, and I don’t think we need the talking heads to tell us that we are already in a recession. The typical analysis looks only at domestic conditions, but internationally, most central banks are in the process of raising rates and backtracking on failed QE policies.
Every month there are reports of the market being “spooked” by rate hikes. People come on TV and act surprised that the Fed has the audacity to raise rates yet again. Why? Powell stated in every possible way that the FOMC will raise rates for “some time.” In Powell language, that means rates will continue to rise for a while. The computer foresees havoc going into 2023. Things must get worse before they become better. Unemployment must rise, rates must go higher, and you must adjust your strategy accordingly.”

Okay, Fisk.
As what? A person who puts the heater on in Perth when it dips below 10 degrees?
And look up Naftogaz in UKR and ask why UKR will need to import gas this winter despite having one of the greatest gas reserves in the world.
Yurii Vitrenko, the head of the state gas company Naftogaz, said indoor temperatures would be set at between 17 and 18C, about four degrees lower than normal, and he advised people to stock up on blankets and warm clothes for when outdoor temperatures fall to and beyond the -10C winter average.
“Heating season”, the period when the central heating is on, will come later and end earlier, said Vitrenko.
The target depends on Ukraine’s international allies giving it the necessary funds to import 4bn cubic metres-worth of gas, as well as no wildcards playing out – such as Russia destroying gas infrastructure or further decreasing its gas supplies to Europe.
“Without the [western] financial support we will lack gas and it will mean we’ll have really high risks for the power system [going] down,” Vitrenko said. He described how Naftogaz backed up some of Ukraine’s power companies with gas in March when coal supplies were halted by the war. “[Otherwise] there would have been no electricity,” he said.
OK, but you are from Perth. They aren’t from Perth. Or Russia for that matter. They’re from a different country, have lived there for a thousand oddyears, and probably know how to deal with a bit of cold weather (and a few other things that have been thrown their way, such as war and famine, mostly by their generous Russian neighbours). I think they’ll be fine, you can relax now!
Shit man. They’re definitely going to surrender to Putin and let him annex their country now!
When you’re talking about where a people are from in an area dominated by ancient feuding clans, kings, conquerors and c-nts, it becomes a bit redundant, right?
Well, I guess that’s progress. We started out this thread with an imminent nuclear war as the reason why Ukraine must surrender to Putin, and we’ve dialed it back to not enough cardigans to go around as the reason why Ukraine must surrender to Putin. The world just keeps getting better in small increments!
Never said that Fisk.
Winter wont help but it’ll hardly be deciding factor in Russia winning.
And, I don’t typically buy what the UN sells, but they put out this release recently:
Fisk, the very bottom line is this;
It’s no longer about who will win in Ukraine. It’s gone far beyond that now. Much bigger risks are in play.
What it is about now is how much is our mentally retarded , corrupt deviant western leadership willing to risk in pushing Russia towards capitulation? Or quite probably disintegration? Now , we know how completely inept these morons are yet we (the citizens in the west) are forced to trust these utter scumbags. And if their judgement is wrong , that risk is potentially a nuclear exchange.
That to me is far FAR too big a risk to entrust to these idiot corruptocrats to get right. These are the very same psychogrubs who gave us the Covid mandates and the corruption and brutality that accompanied it, the imposition of the LGBTQI deviant ideology and its oppressive corruption of our education systems and children, the conspiracy with big tech to impose censorship of any and all opposing opinions, the ruining of our economies with their AGW scam. The same grubs who steal elections.
We are traversing a very dangerous period and cheering for the demented team that intends to provoke a nuclear launch is an obscenity. The Donbass is and never was worth the serious risk of a nuclear exchange. Although the frothing mouth pro-Biden/left/EU media will have you believe it’s a cause worth that same risk.
Alternately, you can hear what Zelensky had to say about their upcoming winter:
But yeah Fisk, you (apparently) know better than Zelensky.

Yah- I got one! Blam, well, how about this! etc, etc.
The real concern is the machinations of the EU and the US , both of which seem determined to ramp things up.
Luckily, the EU is now facing an energy crisis, which they brought on themselves with just a nudge or two from Putin. It’s hard to fight a war when your own country is about to run out of electricity and petrol. Especially when it is because of your own laws (the net zero nonsense).
Putin has done us a big favour by highlighting the unicorn fart underpinning of Green fantasists.
I don’t think that Europe will collapse, although parts of it may. The pragmatic Dutch, the fierce Hungarians, the self-serving French, the proud Poles – and so on. Each will find their own way, and sacrificing to Germany will drop down the menu list of options.
A good investment might be European diesel generator manufacturers. There will be a big demand for their products in the coming months, they should do well provided they can secure sufficient energy supplies to keep manufacturing going.
Oh, and running washing machines on low temperatures to avoid heating bills. One problem – most front loaders need heat to keep the mechanisms and lines clear of gunk buildup.
I predict failures and floodings.

Most electric kettles seem to have a “minimum” level for safe use, generally more than one cup.
But they should feel free to burn out their elements, if they so desire.
While I don’t think UKR is unfamiliar with RUS winters, its pretty dumb to compare UKR weather to FRN’s because they are on the same latitude. Stalingrad is at around the same latitude as southern France too.
The importance of the winter, particularly this winter, is that UKR is using the forces they marshalled over summer to launch their current offensives, which means they aren’t likely to have much to pull together for a few months because of resting and refitting while RUS will be getting their reserves in theatre Nov/ Dec.
Waning, I’d say.
However, one US commentator who lives in Moscow said “Russians’ support for Russia (not Putin), despite how bad things become, never wanes.”
Stop with the stupid bs questions Fisk. I’m far more concerned now about the trajectory in which this shitstorm is headed. And what could possibly change it. My hope is that this coming winter will be severe enough on European public opinion to force the EU deviants to cave leaving the senile airhead in the WH without Euro support. And that the winter grind in Ukraine results in somewhat of a stalemate at the new Russia/ Donbass borders.
I wouldn’t speculate on who initiates a nuke exchange but I know who is provoking it and why.

Trouble is the “something” causes more problems.
On his programme tonight Chris Kenny said, in his introduction to a segment on those female black crows who are stuck in no man’s land in Northern Syria, that they were “trafficked or coerced to enter Syria“.
No Mr Kenny, the fact is that most of these females who travelled to Syria went voluntarily, so as to fight a holy war against infidels, a “war” which involved butchering Christian, Yazidi and Alawite men and boys and enslaving Christian, Yazidi and Alawite women and girls.

He can’t, he gets off on them.
OK no problem, we’ll come back to the first point later. Who do you think is provoking a nuclear exchange and through which specific actions?
I have no patience with those who preach appeasement in the face of Putin threatening nukes.
If you give in to that, it sets a very bad precedent. The likes of Pakistan and NK would see it as a signal that they can boss the West around.
You can’t send the message that the West gives in once nukes are involved. That enables terrorism, state or otherwise.

Nukes aren’t a big deal.
Unless they land where you live, Richard Cranium.
I’m not SeaLioning Monty, i’m upticking him.
My only advice, if I was giving any, is to remember the words of Marcus Aurelius, to wit:
The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.

FFS shut up Ed.
Having in the past 48 hours accepted pre-emptive police shootings of demonstrators and the use of nuclear weapons, m0nty-fa suddenly notices that he and Richard Cranium Case are as one, a team of pseudo-fascist neo-cons.

Well there’s potentially a lot of loot on the table. They don’t care about Uke “democracy” and “freedom”(there isn’t any), they want Russia to disintegrate so they can loot the place like they did during the 1990’s.
Spot on. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the Western (read USA) response has provided a once-in-a- lifetime opportunity to finish off Russia. The collapse of the USSR was only a portion of the desired ‘solution’. Mineral resources in Russia are beyond vast – they are effectively incalculable – and the reorganisation of the current Russian Federation into, say, eight or nine new autonomous countries (like the ‘Stans’) presents a mouth watering prospect for some in the West. China can then be largely sidelined from a resource and manufacturing perspective as those new countries friendly to the West, will see hundreds of billions (trillions over time) of sponsored dollars into new industry. Consequently, China’s capacity to be a global ‘bad actor’ is severely curtailed as its economy falls and cuts must be made to its expansionist plans.
For the West. it is a trifecta: 1 – Russia is destroyed and can never rise as a federation again to threaten the West; 2 – new West friendly countries are created giving access to incredible resources; 3 – China is nobbled as they can no longer afford their expansionist plans.
(yeah, I know, plenty can go wrong with this scenario).
A joke.
I know what you mean, I had something very similar happen to me.
Like the time I caught the ferry to Shelbyville.
I needed a new heel for m’shoe.
So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days.
So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time.
Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on ’em. “Gimme five bees for a quarter,” you’d say.
Now where were we… oh yeah.
The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time.
I didn’t have any white onions, because of the war.
The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones.
…
That’s it.
To avoid appeasement, there is a third way: set a high price. Like demanding Russia give up the Kuril Islands in exchange for Crimea. You can still get the negotiated settlement that ends the conflict, but without being seen as easy prey.

Iran threatens nobody, it’s surrounded by U.S. bases.
Israel tried to destroy Hezbollah in Lebanon in 2006, suffered a strategic defeat, and now wants America to do the dirty work for them.
And a nuclear armed Iran would never attack those bases of the Great Satan, nor Israel, the Lesser Satan, with nuclear weapons, would it?
You stupid idiot.
Citizens for Sanity
“Citizens for Sanity is trolling American Progressives by promoting their woke ideologies to show just how asinine the thinking has become.
The mission statement:
‘Citizens for Sanity’s mission is to return common sense to America, to highlight the importance of logic and reason, and to defeat “wokeism” and anti-critical thinking ideologies that have permeated every sector of our country and threaten the very freedoms that are foundational to the American Dream.’
These advertisements are clearly parodies, but they show what the far-left would like to normalize. They even call out individual politicians:
– In Atlanta, GA: “Thank you, Senator Warnock, for voting to keep violent criminals out of jail. Gang members need to earn a living too.”
– “Thank you, Senator Warnock, for voting to keep violent predators out of jail. Unmasked toddlers are the real criminals.”
– In Las Vegas, NV: “Thank you, Catherine Cortez Masto, for voting to keep our border open. Drug cartels need all the help they can get.”
– In Phoenix, AZ: “Thank you, Mark Kelly, for voting to keep our borders open. The drugs aren’t going to smuggle themselves.”
– In Epping, NH: “Thank you, Senator Hassan, for voting to keep our border open. Drug cartels need all the help they can get.”
– In Philadelphia: “Thank you, John Fetterman, for fighting to keep violent criminals out of jail. Gang members need to earn a living too.”
– In Miami, FL: Thank you, Val Demings, for fighting to keep violent criminals out of jail.”
The organization goes on to attack the IRS: “If you do not like being audited then you’re the problem.”
“Too much freedom is a bad thing. Get your IRS audit today.”
These advertisements are a good laugh, but in truth, they are a direct reflection of how woke culture is destroying America. There is no logic or reason behind the woke agenda, and yet, politicians are pandering to support it in an effort to seem “progressive.” America must restore its sanity.”

Globalists and neocons (of all stripes) in the US and Europe now clearly intend to press Russia into regime change and towards disintegration via the Ukraine conflict. That is what the Ukraine conflict is now about. Which of course Russia, Putin with his whole apparatus and regime will violently oppose -with the option of using everything at their disposal.
UK government is reversing portion of the tax cuts.
That’s the end of the conservatives now. What a bunch of useless imbeciles.
Does Truss have kids? There was a Catallaxy rule to never have a sheila running the show who didn’t have kids.
🙂
What a useless bunch of amateurs.
Francis Fuckyuyama has made a prediction that something “big is going to hit Russia in the coming days.”
You should be banned from making predictions if all your previous predictions have all been wrong.
I mean, he could almost work for the United States Study Centre, he’s been that wrong so many times.
OK, so you ARE speculating after all that Putin will resort to a nuclear first strike if he loses a conventional war that he started. Thanks for clarifying! Weird that you don’t seem to think there’s anything wrong with that though.
Not sure about that, JC. Hugh Mackay was considered by Tim Blair to be Oz’s most boring personage, with Bernard Salt running a close second.
The Scrubes was famous for being the Plenipotentiary Elect (in perpetuity) of Australia’s (Very) Pedestrian Council.

Australians need to have more of their income stolen to support these vile disgusting stone age savages, while being incessantly denounced as waycists.”
Be aware you’re being BAD by not going to see a movie:
Bros writer and actor Billy Eichner took to Twitter on Sunday to reflect on the disappointing performance of his gay romcom at the box office following its opening weekend.
The 44-year-old actor-comedian issued a series of tweets about the film, which is the first LGBTQ romantic comedy given a large release by a major studio.
Despite a $22million production budget and rave reviews, the film took in just $4.8million and landed fourth place at the US box office….
He said that ‘even with glowing reviews, great Rotten Tomatoes scores, an A CinemaScore etc, straight people, especially in certain parts of the country, just didn’t show up for Bros. And that’s disappointing but it is what it is.’
Eichner said that ‘everyone who ISN’T a homophobic weirdo should go see BROS tonight’ as ‘it *is* special and uniquely powerful to see this particular story on a big screen, esp for queer folks who don’t get this opportunity often.’
Daily Mail, with Eichner in a pink suit and a head tilt.
If you read Putin’s speech, he’s responding to talk in the West about regime change, dissolution of Russian Federation, and talk of launching nukes (remember Truss responding to a question in debate saying she wouldn’t hesitate) and reminding them that RUS has weapons up to and including nuclear.
And let’s be serious. The whole point of having a nuclear arsenal is the standing threat of their use if your nation is under mortal threat, so this huffing and puffing in the West is largely insincere posturing.
Don’t be intentionally dumb. What I’m speculating is that inept/corrupt western leaders will fuck up and press this war into Russia and attempt to destroy the Russian Federation , thereby PROVOKING a nuclear exchange. The west is provoking Russia into a nuke launch in that scenario. If you think that is a smart or wise strategy then you’re a lunatic.
JC – trust me on this. The Scrubes might be a lot of things (barking mad for starters), but I can’t recall him being described as anywhere near as boring as Hugh Mackay and Bernard Salt.
Okay Rabz, seeing others are talking appeasement here today, can we a least place the Scrubinator in second place. Third if it’s a must.
I nearly nodded off just remembering their excruciating outpourings of utterly banal idiocy.
Third, JC. I’m not settling for anything less.
Dude, be fair and meet half way.
I think the Poot should do an underground nuke test in their test area. It is detectable as such by the West. The message is – MY nukes work, do yours?
No damage to anybody, just a message.
Hugh Mackay could bore for Australia. Fortunately he seems to have disappeared from Australian public life.
IIRC, the US were setting off nukes in the South Pacific during the Cuban Missile Crisis?
FFS, these you tube ads are driving me batty – “carbon neutral internet” loudly purveyed by what appears to be a dancing prawn. 😕
Ah, the idiocy of modern life. Where would we be without it.
Interesting on the gay romp film….
The Buzz Lightyear movie (that, some versions, has a lezzo kiss scene in it) has also flopped at the box office and might not break even…
Although one woke j’smist wrote that low intake was “due to covid concerns and an upset public due to lezzo scene being deleted in some countries”
Which is all the more bereft for it, Bear. 🙂
“Does Truss have kids?”
Yes she does.

I wasn’t completely surprised when, a few months ago, my boss wrote me an email and I noticed that she’d put an Aboriginal and TSI flag in her signature block and a “recognition of country.” Then, today, I see her email signature has expanded to include “she/her.”
I guess, next up, I can expect a UKR flag followed by some statement on the climate emergency?
Signature blocks = the new ponzi scheme.
Amazing how that works
