Quite so.
The Senate only managed 62 votes to end it. It takes a 2/3 majority (67 votes) to override a Presidential veto.
On the other hand, the original vote was very low-profile as any publicity it might have had was overwhelmed by coverage of the the mid-terms. IMO it would pass easily if it is put up again with no distractions and increased public awareness.

If you think about it, ALL money is backed by a ‘proof of work’ system.
This started back in time with barter – you swapped one physical thing for another. That physical thing had a certain degree of effort or energy ’embedded’ in it. If it was food, you ate it to provide your body with energy. Similarly if it was wood, you could burn it, or if it was something that had been made, it had the relevant labor and material inputs ‘stored’ within it.
At first. this didn’t change with the invention of money (particularly gold and silver) because these too were physical things which required work to produce – they were still ‘proof of work’ systems.
This all fell apart with the invention of money unbacked by this proof of work. With paper money, and then electronic money, you could ‘produce’ more money without the need to embed the work into it. This allowed the explosion of fiat currency quantity and is a prime cause of the inflation we see today.
Bitcoin was intended to be a digital form of money using electricity as the proof of work input. Embedding electricity within its manufacture does not, per se, give it value, but it does prevent whatever value it has being inflated away by ‘unbacked’ production, as with paper currency.
Ultimately, the value of anything is what someone else will give you for it. At present this is about $24,000 AUD. This value being based upon what it can do for the owner, presently including acting as a censorship resistant, seizure resistant, debasement resistant store of value and instantaneous payments system for transferring value 24/7 anywhere in the planet.
You might like to argue that such a system has no ‘underlying value’ because it is not physical, but this flies in the face of the market capitalisations of Visa, Paypal, Western Union etc etc etc. Clearly, payment networks have utility and therefore must have value. BTC is no different.
It self adjusts – lower prices/higher production costs mean the less efficient producers go out of business, just the same as gold and silver miners did back in time.
But he was right. The idiot claimed crypto was backed by nothing, yet not only is fiat money not really backed by anything particularly tangible, you can counterfeit it, unlike crypto.

Biden DOJ Assigns Special Counsel to Investigate Republicans in Congress and President Trump for Insurrection, Additionally Investigate Trump for DOJ Defined Classified Documents and Obstruction
November 18, 2022 | Sundance
Okay, first things first. CTH will not play the pretending game or structure the discussion of the special counsel appointment through the prism of MSM references. Instead, we will stick to the facts as they are presented, explain the events as they are factually reflected within the actual documents, and avoid the pretending constructs.
DATA Links: (1) Merrick Garland DOJ Statement on Appointment of Special Counsel ~ (2) pdf of Legal Appointment ~ (3) Statement of Jack Smith upon Appointment ~ (4) Transcript of AG Merrick Garland Public Announcement.
The overarching Lawfare framework has been transparently created by President Obama’s former White House Legal Counsel and current U.S. Asst Attorney General Lisa Monaco. To wit, earlier this afternoon Joe Biden’s Attorney General, Merrick Garland, announced the appointment of DOJ Attorney Jack Smith as special counsel to investigate two specific areas:
This is an extension of the January 6th Committee special investigation that transfers the committee’s investigative findings, ie phone records, text messages, transcripts, emails, prior testimony and all evidentiary records, into the newly appointed Special Counsel.
However, all prior and current DOJ prosecutions against citizen individuals will remain within the control and direction of Main Justice. This structure frees up Jack Smith to target the new republican controlled congressional members, their staff, families and/or communication network. Main Justice keeps focus on the citizen insurrectionists, Jack Smith now appointed to go after the public officials.
J6 Committee staff, committee investigators, FBI agents and DOJ lawyers will now transfer from the committee to the special counsel office. Watch. (More on why later)
As you can see from the simple (non-pretending) explanation of what is being done, the Lawfare process become clear. Everything congress now begins to question falls under the protective blanket of an “ongoing investigation,” exactly as we predicted.
Plus, you get the additional Lawfare elements of congressional leadership under investigation which provides an entirely new ‘conflict of interest dynamic’ to the political equation.
Then you have the congressional representatives under investigation and search warrants on their phones, text messages, emails, etc…. AND the added benefit of using DOJ-NSD defined terms of “national security threat” (that’s why they emphasized insurrection) to gain FISA warrants on an entire incoming congressional delegation. How slick is that?
They didn’t just think this up overnight.
This is why the January 6 committee never ended. They are using J6 as a weapon against their losing the House to republicans. The Democrats are now structurally targeting Republicans with the appointment of Jack Smith.
It’s actually a brilliant move. The executive is now investigating the legislative branch; the legal structure of this eliminates the separation of powers issue.
The DOJ is not investigating republicans, they are investigating defined criminals; insurrectionists that are national security threats, that happen to be republicans. See how that works?
This also explains why Nancy Pelosi did not resign from congress, but only stepped down from her leadership role. The timing of mid-November (today) gives Smith time to get all his midterm counter-offensive ducks in a row before his republican targets take office in January.
All of the congressional J6 and DOJ main justice teams will now assemble in new DC offices to set up the 2023 targeting operation. The announcement was made today, but the planning of the construct has been in place for months, contingent upon the number of actual House seats that could flip. The Lawfare design is transparent when you stop looking at the obfuscation reporting from mainstream media.
Primary goal, create enough of a legal mess as to obstruct any republican legislative effort against the Biden White House. Additionally, if Smith’s DC team can pick-off a few republican House members under charges of “supporting an insurrection“, the political power will revert back to the Democrats in office.

FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES TO RUIN OURSELVES.
Posted by Pointman on November 18, 2022
Western Europe and the US are in a recession, though the denial compulsion of bidenomics insists that the old rules no longer apply in the brave new world of the great reset currently in progress.
It’s all nonsense of course and unless there’s some serious remedial action taken, we’re in all probability looking at a long worldwide recession the Bank of England estimates to be of two years duration. I think not only is that an optimistic estimate but if we’re not careful about how the global situation is managed, we could be looking at something a lot like a long depression. Add in the trade barriers, known as sanctions these days, being hurriedly thrown up between major trading blocks and all the exacerbating ingredients for that disaster are shaping up nicely, just like in the 1930s.
We are now beset by the return of those evil twins – a rising cost of living and a decline in the purchasing power of your money. Governments are desperately indulging in a lot of what’s called gaslighting these days by the smart set about the true state of their economies. Nearly all statistics issued by government and quasi-governmental bodies have been cosmetically fiddled with so much over the years for political reasons that they need to be taken with a heavy pinch of salt.
There are still one or two exceptions like the Bank of England which calculated inflation in the UK to be running at 11.1% in October, a number that didn’t go down well with the government. I tend to think their happy days of relative independence will soon be drawing to a close if they persist in producing reports contradicting the happy clappy, all’s well with the world narrative a government in disarray is pushing.
The only way off this path to economic annihilation is to properly address the policies that in less than half a year hurled the world into recession. The failed policy everyone knows was to voluntarily cut ourselves off from the biggest source of commodities we’d allowed ourselves to become totally dependent on in the vain hope that source would implode. They didn’t, we’re the ones who’re imploding. While our central banks are surreptitiously raising interest rates by not enough, their central bank is lowering theirs.
We’ve emptied our arsenals onto the black market via donations to Ukrainian spivs to the point where we couldn’t even defend ourselves if for some mad reason Russia decided to conquer the economic basket case Europe is fast becoming. On both the economic and military front, all Putin has to do is wait.
Wait for West block economies to collapse resulting in regime changes to more amenable faces. Wait for General Winter to do his terrible work before launching the massive Spring offensive every man and his dog knows they’re preparing east of the Dneiper. Wait for West block populations to get fed up of living in cold and poverty over a country most of they couldn’t even find on a world map. Wait for Ukraine fatigue to set in after a brutally cold winter.
Nobody but a fool tries to catch a falling knife. He’ll let it clatter to the tile floor and then negotiate from a position of strength having won the hybrid war. By that time, we’ll be the old beggar in the snow people walk by.
The brainless battle cry of we’ll continue to pour money and munitions into the Ukraine “for as long as it takes” plays exactly into Russia’s patient game. In effect, we’re the ones getting sucked dry and they’re the ones not expending a kopek nor an unnecessary Russian life. West block is like someone hopelessly trapped in some obsessive-compulsive loop who somehow thinks that by repeating the same failed moves over and over again, there’ll somehow be a different result after enough blood and treasure has been spent.
In the mean time, all we’ve got to look forward to is what politicians call austerity regimes.
If you’ve got a penknife, now is the time to use it to make a few new holes in your belt.

Biden’s democrats are desperate to shift the focus from his performance to anything that could be attributed to the previous administration. Hence the witch hunt.
Correct, the exchanges are a major vulnerability for at least 2 reasons
1) by acting as ‘on and off ramps’ between the existing financial system and BTC, they are a ‘single point of failure’ where regulators can see/censor your activities
2) by having your tokens on these exchanges, you GIVE CONTROL of them to the exchange, which can act against your best interests
.
These 2 points above are recognised vulnerabilities of crypto assets, but it is important to realise that they arise due to the interaction between the asset and the old financial world, NOT because the assets themselves are flawed.
You can minimise these risks by
1) Not holding crypto assets on exchanges -rather you ‘self custody’ and there are ways to do that
2) Learning how to transact with crypto assets outside the traditional on and off ramps – you can for instance, buy BTC completely off line and that was the first thing I did in 2015.
Thanks very much for your wise advice JR, I will get straight onto it thankyou thankyou thankyou!

Harvard Poll: Donald Trump Up 18 Points over Ron DeSantis in Hypothetical GOP 2024 Primary
A new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll found that former President Donald Trump is the clear front-runner in a hypothetical 2024 Republican primary, leading Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis by 18 points.
The poll found that 46 percent of Republican voters would support Trump, compared to 28 percent who support DeSantis.
Former Vice President Mike Pence, who many speculate will launch a presidential bid in 2024, received just seven percent support. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (R) came in fourth place in the poll with three percent, while Nikki Haley, Mike Pompeo, and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) each polled at two percent.
The Harvard poll was taken after last week’s midterm elections and days after Trump announced his 2024 presidential campaign.
“In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for the president of the United States,” Trump told a crowd of supporters at his Mar-a-Lago estate on Tuesday.
The poll also found that Trump would defeat President Joe Biden in a hypothetical 2024 rematch, while DeSantis would tie with Biden.
In a hypothetical rematch, 44 percent of voters would support Trump compared to 42 percent who would support Biden. The survey also found that Trump would beat Vice President Kamala Harris in a hypothetical election by a seven-point margin.
On the other hand, DeSantis and Biden tied at 43 percent in the poll.
The poll found that most voters doubt Biden’s mental fitness and think he should not run for a second term in office.
The Harvard CAPS/Harris poll surveyed 2,212 registered voters from November 16 to November 17.

German howitzers face problems in Ukraine – Der Spiegel
The Berlin-supplied weapons are reportedly breaking down, and there aren’t enough spare parts to keep the fragile guns firing
German Panzerhaubitze 2000 artillery guns are failing to withstand the rigors of combat in Ukraine, and Berlin hasn’t sourced enough spare parts to keep the cannons working, Der Spiegel reported.
Germany has sent Ukraine 14 of its state-of-the-art Panzerhaubitze (PzH) 2000 self-propelled howitzers, but problems emerged the moment they hit the battlefield. The guns were suffering from “wear and tear” and displaying error messages back in July, and six were recently sent to Lithuania for repair, the German newspaper reported on Friday.
Of these, only five will be heading back to the battlefield. Neither the German military nor its arms industry could provide the necessary spare parts to fix all the guns, the report continued, explaining that technicians had to cannibalize one of them to fix the others.
The German government has been aware of this parts shortage since late summer, when the military warned it to order “extensive spare parts packages,” Der Spiegel claimed. Such an order was apparently not made, and the shortage has hampered Germany’s plans to set up a repair hub in Slovakia.
In planning since September and announced by German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht earlier this week, the repair hub will maintain howitzers and air-defense systems sent to Ukraine by Berlin.
German military officials believe that Ukraine is firing as many as 300 rounds from each PzH 2000 per day, Friday’s report stated. Der Spiegel’s first article on the malfunctioning guns in July noted that 100 rounds per day is considered high-intensity use, and that ammo shortages were forcing Ukraine to load the cannons with incompatible ammunition.

If even ONE of the tens of thousands of network computers are online, the system will still run, and if none are, as soon as ONE comes back up, the network is live again. It is more robust than any other computer network on earth. To kill BTC, you would need to shut down the internet, world wide, forever.

Russia and China to abandon dollar in energy trade – Moscow
The two nations have been promoting settlements in their national currencies
Energy trade between Russia and China has been steadily growing and is up 64% in monetary terms so far this year, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak told the Rossiya 24 TV channel on Friday.
His comments followed a meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Chinese commission on energy cooperation.
“China is our strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region and generally in trade,” he said, noting that in physical terms the increase was about 10% in supplies of oil, gas, coal, and electricity.
The deputy PM explained that the two countries aim to further develop trade relations, and in particular are working on expanding the share of national currencies in energy transactions.
“We are switching to settlements in rubles and yuan for the energy resources supplied,” Novak said.
In recent years, Russia and China have been ramping up the use of domestic currencies in mutual settlements in an attempt to move away from the US dollar and euro. Moscow has been steadily pursuing a policy of de-dollarization of its foreign trade and has in particular increased use of the yuan. In addition to the Chinese currency featuring more frequently in trade settlements, some Russian companies have begun issuing yuan-denominated bonds, while a number of banks are offering deposits in the currency.
According to Novak, the national currencies have also been used for the purchase of various equipment from China.

Though the UK, US, and Ukraine have insisted otherwise, Moscow’s stockpile clearly hasn’t run out, the outlet writes
The New York Times on Friday offered four possible explanations as to how Russia was able to launch a massive missile salvo against Ukraine this week, after the government in Kiev, the Pentagon and the British intelligence have spent months insisting Moscow’s stockpiles were running low.
Ukraine claimed last month that Russia had used up 70% of its prewar missile reserves, the Times noted, while the British Defense Ministry said the October 10 strike against Ukrainian infrastructure was “likely to constrain their ability to strike the volume of targets they desire in future.”
Tuesday’s strike, which the Times described as the “biggest aerial attack” of the conflict so far, featuring 96 missiles, “raises questions about how much Russia’s arsenal may be depleted and whether Moscow will endure by finding alternative sources of weapons.”
One explanation comes from the Pentagon, which had claimed that Russia was running out of missiles as early as May. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Wednesday that Russia was “reaching out” to Iran and North Korea to replenish its ammunition stocks, though the Pentagon itself has publicly said otherwise. Moscow, Tehran and Pyongyang have all denied this, however.
Meanwhile, the US has reportedly been trying to buy artillery ammunition for Kiev from South Korea.
Another possibility relies on Ukrainian claims from Thursday that Russia has used S-300 air defense missiles to strike ground targets. The unverified claims follow attempts by Kiev to blame Moscow for the S-300 that struck the Polish village of Przewodow on Tuesday and killed two civilians.
Janes, a British intelligence firm, said it believes Russia is actually building more missiles, possibly using stockpiled microchips and other technology embargoed by the US and its allies for years.
Russia “probably began producing high numbers of Iskanders, Kalibrs, and cruise missiles” before February, and they are “likely being produced as we speak,” with the Russian defense industry working round-the-clock, according to the company.
Hmmm – Seems to be a Continuing Theme here!
US running low on arms to give to Ukraine – CNN
The Pentagon is reportedly concerned about its stockpiles of artillery shells, as well as air defense and anti-tank missiles
Concern is growing in the US government about its inability to keep supplying Ukraine with state-of-the-art systems and ammunition amid its conflict with Russia, CNN reported on Thursday.
According to three US officials interviewed by the outlet, some of the challenges the US is facing in terms of supporting Ukraine include its “dwindling” stockpiles of arms and the ability of the defense industry to cope with demand. One official told CNN that there is a “finite amount” of excess stock that Washington can send to Kiev.
Washington is particularly concerned about the available stockpiles of 155mm artillery shells and Stinger air defense missiles, the report says. Some officials are also worried about the production of arms such as HARMs anti-radiation missiles, GMLRS surface-to-surface missiles, and Javelin anti-tank systems.
CNN’s sources maintain, however, that the dent in the stockpiles does not compromise national security, given that the weapons for Ukraine do not come from the supplies the Pentagon reserves for its own contingencies. A senior official also told the outlet that the assessment that the US is “running low” on arms is subjective, as it depends on how much risk the Pentagon is prepared to accept.
One of the major concerns is that the US defense industry is struggling to keep up with demand, while European countries cannot fully backfill their own stockpiles to replace the military hardware sent to Ukraine, officials say. However, to remedy the situation, the US is trying to ramp up production of certain types of arms.
Since the start of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine in late February, the US and its Western allies have been providing Kiev with billions of dollars in security assistance, with Moscow repeatedly warning that weapons shipments will only prolong the conflict.
According to the US Department of Defense, as of early November, Washington has committed to sending Kiev over 1,400 Stingers, 8,500 Javelins, 142 155mm Howitzers, and up to 903,000 155mm artillery rounds.

I would not call that an asset. They are electronic digits. Turn the power off and what have you got? SFA that’s what. Nyet.
The Bitcoin network is a computer program that runs on multiple countries on every country on earth (no sure about Antarctica). If even ONE of the tens of thousands of network computers are online, the system will still run, and if none are, as soon as ONE comes back up, the network is live again. It is more robust than any other computer network on earth. To kill BTC, you would need to shut down the internet, world wide, forever.
If that happens, billions of people die and your BTC is the least of your worries – but that is why I have stocks of the other 4* precious metals also.
Silver, Gold, Brass, Lead.
Errrrrrrr. Same as me. Electronic stuff doesn’t d o it for me. Maybe for you, I don’t know. I like real stuff. So Good Luck to you with your electronic digits. Give me land, property, shares in Great Companies. But, electronic digits? I don’t think so.
Out beyond the Urals, there are a number of sizeable cities that in Soviet times were secret, unable to be entered. Some didn’t have names. Many were dedicated to reckety and it’s associated tech. The Sovs had many enormous u/ground caverns there used to stockpile weapons. Even considering much may be past it’s use by date, without doubt those caverns will be put to good use. It’s easy to see why the Lamestream Media and their woke lefty Govts get it consistently wrong about Russian weapon capacity.
Central planning of *anything* ultimately fails because
1) there is no one ‘central’ solution to any problem for every one
2) the central planners lack sufficient information on the diverse and hidden inputs and outputs of any lever they pull to know what said single solution might be
The RBA tries to ‘centrally plan’ the most important parameter in the economy – the price of and demand for money. Of course they stuff it up.

Democrats Never Admit Defeat
The only thing as wrong as the pre-election predictions of a red wave is the post-midterm analysis declaring a rousing victory by the Democrats.
Midterm election results boost Biden 2024 hopes, Reuters reports. Democrats can’t rest on their midterm success, declares a column published in the Hill. Perhaps the most predictable, if irrelevant, spin came from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who tweeted that House Democrats “defied expectations with an excellent performance: running their races with courage, optimism and determination.”
Biden’s first two years were a Golden Age for Democrats. They rammed through trillions of dollars of new spending while advancing the goals of diversity, inclusion, and equity across the government.
Meanwhile, they and their allies in the media worked to delegitimize their Republican opponents, casting them as racist, fascist “election deniers” who posed an existential threat to the “soul of democracy.” During the summer, liberals were handed an unexpected gift when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the poorly reasoned (but now-popular) 1973 case that legalized abortion across the land.
The most telling comment following the midterms was Biden’s declaration that he will do “nothing” different in response to the results. Of course, he won’t. The Democrats are no longer a political party in the old American tradition – an ever-evolving group of people who have a general philosophy which they can quickly adapt to the changing will of the people. They are ideologues committed to a specific unbending set of ideas about the role of the welfare state and their concept of social justice.
They cannot change course because they are no longer running a slate of candidates but a set-in-stone philosophy whose correctness can never be questioned.
They cannot admit defeat, because it’s hard for them to accept that the people do not embrace their “truths” (they just need more time). Election setbacks are just bumps in the road for them to ignore on their march to the promised land.
Edit- Many were dedicated to ROCKETRY and it’s associated tech.
I have hedges within hedges within hedges, aka ‘layered defences’, not just hedges within hedges. I congratulate you, it sounds like you have made good progress so far.

And other western armies have learned from the Germans how to fight well at the tactical and operational level, but have forgotten whatever they knew about fighting at the strategic level. They win the battles and campaigns, but lose the wars.
Too much Wehrmacht penis envy since 1945.
Leaving aside the wisdom or lack thereof in the RBA for a moment, Australians generally have become so wedded to big government solutions to everything that to talk of the virtues of subsidiarity is to risk being labelled a madman.
It will take a collapse of our long-evolved centralisation of power to change that.

“the digital vaccine passports?”
I have a (paper) vaccination certificate. In 50 years of international travel, I have never been asked to show it.
We, of a certain vintage, all seem to have had that old vaccination (yellow, as I recall) booklet. I shudder now to think that when we travelled to Africa (Zimbabwe & Kenya) in the 1980s we were required to have a vaccination for Yellow Fever or some such fearsome disease. I seem to recall also Sleeping Sickness – but I don’t think we ended up being required to have the vaccination.
Still, unforeseen afflictions occur in Africa. We were on a guided day trip in Samburu National Park (far north in Kenya) when the driver of our vehicle drove up a track (that husband thought was a dust bog) & promptly got bogged. Despite every effort with tree branches under wheels etc we were there for the night. Fortunately, our driver’s mates missed him at the nightly card game
and sent the local army unit to look for us. The 6 footers who arrived had husband hold a bevy of their impressive weaponry while they literally pried the car’s differential off the tree trunk it was embedded in.
On returning to our safari accomodation we took immediate showers to wash of the black dust that covered us when we were fruitlessly trying to dig the car out. Problem ………a black patch (which wasn’t a bruise) on my arm just wouldn’t wash off & remained on my arm until I returned to Sydney maybe a week later. I was shocked when my GP pronounced the skin as “necrotic”. Bloody hell!
Anyway, no after effects…. but Africa sure has some strange fungi or whatever…..
Indeed – no point buying PMs to hide assets from the Feds if you buy it whilst leaving fingerprints back to the banking system..
BTW, can *highly* recommend ‘City Gold’ for those in Adelaide or Brissy. They fully understand their customers desire for privacy.

Portable? – yes
Durable? – yes
Fungible? (ie is one cartridge the same as another?) – yes
etc etc etc

I’ve never even tried to understand crypto and don’t have a view on it one way or another. But I’ll say this though. If crypto has zero value, then gold also has zero value as an investment grade commodity and a store of value.

Could DOJ’s Special Counsel Actually Fire up Support for Donald Trump?
What if Attorney General Merrick Garland’s latest attempt to get Trump by appointing a special counsel backfires and actually helps the former president’s latest bid for office? It would be pretty darned funny, I’d say.
Garland, in an apparent bid to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest because his boss might run again in an election battle with the already-declared Trump, on Friday appointed veteran prosecutor Jack Smith to oversee the Mar-a-Lago documents and Jan. 6 investigations.
Voters, especially Trump’s base, could find renewed energy as they witness yet another overzealous prosecution of Orange Man Bad, and after watching so many failed efforts, they could (correctly) conclude that the Justice Department is simply an untrustworthy, politicized, partisan Democrat operation. In other words, Joe Biden’s enforcement arm:
Ted Cruz
@tedcruz
Joe Biden has completely weaponized the Department of Justice to attack his political opponents.
3 days ago, Trump announced and now a Special Counsel. ?
This is Trump derangement syndrome but this time with a gun and badge. #JusticeCorrupted
Get this: back in the 1970s, Smith was a federal prosecutor who helped investigate The Donald for possible fraud charges. The case closed—wait for it… without charges. So if Trump has somewhat of a case of a persecution complex, you’d certainly understand why. This guy Smith has been after him for fifty years.
But haven’t we been hearing that for six years now? The “walls are closing in” this time? No doubt the special counsel will be a thorn in Trump’s side, but I expect that—unless they really do get him this time—it will galvanize his support more than it hurts him. People are sick of these expensive, non-productive witch hunts that don’t improve our lives and cost millions.
Jack Smith will likely fail as badly as Robert Mueller did, and don’t be surprised if Trump once again has the last laugh.
Of course it is!
Blockchain is as big a threat to the old monetary order as Uber was to the taxi industry … they wont go down without a fight.

If I include grenades, and also kills where I’m standing up next to a tree completely covered in mud except for my eyeballs when the enemy walks past within arms’ length – I’ve written the number in my study somewhere, but it’s between six and seven thousand.
Plus several boathouses, of varying colour.
Did Knuckle Dragger even make it thru basic training?
I heard he flunked out.
Biden, Democrats Moving to Ban Traditional Marriage Advocates from the Public Square
America is about to learn that what liberals actually mean when they claim to support “separation of church and state” is they want to use the power of government to silence those who disagree with them on same-sex marriage.
For years, liberals have perverted the meaning of Thomas Jefferson’s “absolute wall of separation” for keeping the state out of the church to keeping those in the church who uphold the Bible’s definition of marriage out of the public square.
The occasion for this teachable moment is the “Respect for Marriage Act” now before the Senate. Democrats claim the proposal is required to make same-sex marriage legal nationwide, even though the Supreme Court’s Obergefell decision in 2015 did precisely that.
A dozen Republican senators voted with all of the Democrats to advance the proposal. Had this dozen GOP lawmakers voted against advancing the bill, it would still be tied up in the Senate, with an excellent chance of not going any further before the 118th Congress convenes. There’s no guarantee, however, that the new Republican-controlled House of Representatives would block the proposal.
There are two elements here that command attention. The first element is seen in a Washington Post news analysis by staff writer Aaron Blake that reveals one of the most important and fundamental divides in American politics.
The same-sex marriage bill, according to Blake, asks lawmakers “to codify state and federal recognition of a right that the Supreme Court has ruled already exists.” In other words, the rights of every individual American citizen are defined by law, as passed by Congress, signed by the president, and enforced by the Court.
That understanding of the source of individual rights would shock and sadden the Founders, who declared in the Declaration of Independence in 1776 that:
Simply put, the liberals are saying to millions of Americans that they have no right to disagree in the public square with same-sex marriage and the state can and indeed soon will take their property via taxes and use them to support the enforcement of same-sex marriage as a political right.
That enforcement is the second element here that commands attention. The bill includes provisions that authorize the IRS to jerk the tax exemption of any church or non-profit that opposes same-sex marriage. The bill also encourages litigation to be brought against those same institutions in the court system to enforce the right to same-sex marriage.
Here’s what that means: Soon after Biden signs the bill into law, there will begin to be same-sex couples demanding to be married in evangelical churches they know to be opposed to the practice.
If the pastor refuses to perform the ceremony, the church will be sued and it will lose in court. That litigation will then be used by the IRS as justification for ending the church’s tax-exempt status, as well as the tax-deductibility of congregants’ tithes and contributions.
But that’s not all. The IRS is being primed to be ready for action against evangelical and traditional Catholic social service institutions as well. As Heritage Action for America explains:
Yeah, nah.
Doesn’t count. I’m only going to compare enemy combatants, not the women and children you executed behind the school shelter shed.
We’re comparing apples with apples if you please. Try again!
Oh. I see.
1,822. I’m still claiming the boathouses.
Ed:
I’ve still got a couple of wheat bags full of children’s feet I cut off and brought back. You can have them for your collection if you want, because I’m downsizing.
So, it’s a number somewhere between 0 and 1,822.
How long since the last one?
Are you getting itchy?
J.C:
You make such a pathetic victim.
There hasn’t been a stoush here that you’ve not started, or egged on.
You behave like Dan Andrews – walk in, point out the victim of your latest dose of the shits and let some other unsuspecting dill who doesn’t understand your tactics cop it for you and get a pat on the head.
Except your attempt to piss on Bruce of Newcastle didn’t work out as well as you’d hoped did it?
And it laid bare your methods.
It’s going to be a long time before you slime your way out of that one.
A bit of Good News – Molotov cocktail-tossing lawyer sentenced to 15 months for torching NYPD car
Brooklyn federal court Judge Brian Cogan admonished Urooj Rahman before handing down the 15-month sentence, calling the firebombing an “attack on the rule of law” carried out by someone who took an oath to uphold the Constitution.
In the United States, Cogan told Rahman, you “go to the ballot box, not the bomb” if you’re driven to fight for social justice. He added she showed an “amazing level of arrogance” with the attack.
“What a bomb does cannot be undone,” the jurist said.
Blah – just had a lengthy conversation with a good ol’ mate (since 5th grade at St Peds) who’s a collectivist. He launched into a tirade against the braindead lamestream meeja, stating he never watched or listened to the news nowadays as it was/is all bullshit.
Stunned, I agreed with him, which then prompted him to commence an equally vituperative spray about Orange Man Bad. At the end of which, I had to say, “Yeah well, you don’t hear me launching into unhinged rants about that foul syphilitic ol’ geriatric biden, do you Squire?”
Followed by some deathly silence. Broken shortly afterwards by talking about the cricket.
Politics – what a curse it is.
Working with his trusty sidekick, Jane Doe …
That has such a wide ambit you know the Supremes will knock it on the head, so you have to ask is it just theatre before 2024?

You’re conflating a Vic Jack Inc goon (fmr) and enlisted soldier (fmr) with a currently serving career naval officer.
You also reckon Knuckles flunked out of basic training and has a kill count higher than Simo Haya.
Lay off the glass barbie, sweetie.
Elon Musk’s ‘picture of the day’ makes a mockery of Dem investigatory priorities
Just to help set the scene, check out Tucker Carlson’s segment last night on FTX and Democrats. It’s something else:
Tucker EXPOSES why FTX “laundering” scheme for Democrats is SO much worse than you thought…
Couple that with what (and who) President Biden and other congressional Democrats have been indicating they might focus on as far as investigations go:
Reporter: “Do you think
@elonmusk
is a threat to national security?”
Biden: “It’s worthy of being looked at.”
@SenMarkey threatens @elonmusk
: “You cannot ignore what the federal government is requiring of your company, and that goes for … guardrails that have to be built around social media … They will pay a price if they don’t put safeguards in place at Twitter”
Add it all up and Elon Musk has the perfect meme to nutshell the situation:
Are you getting itchy?
Are you crotchless? I bet you miss those chafeless panties.
Except I never sent a email to a blog owner crying that someone was mean to me. You did and threatened to sue the blog owner. You demanded we never speak, which I enthusiastically signed onto. Subsequently, you began grovelling to me that I found even more disgusting. Here we are, the wimp who at times morphs into Rambo.
There are a couple of this very thread that I didn’t start. That was you, the Turtlehead, the Driller and of course you new found buddy, Rodney Rottenhead.
Your behavior is actually disturbing and I hope you end up making contact with the intel/Police authorities. Suggesting you would support the wholesale murder of a 1,000 people is verging of decrepit insanity. I don’t understand why you haven’t been booted.
The Rambo /simpering wimp routines are funny. Keep them up.
Starting to think another 4 years of Hunchback and Victoria will decent into chaos.
Must be a “spook”…like everyone else.
They may not knock it on the head Dot. Freedom of religion does not mean freedom from taxation. And this sucker is in the process of being passed by Congress, having gone through the Senate with RINO support. It’ll go through the House too, either as a lame duck bill or with House RINOs on side. SCOTUS tends to go with the legislation if it’s not a clear cut violation of the Constitution, since they want Congress to do its job. That Congress has a majority of anti-Christian hypocrites doesn’t especially change the equation.
Christians will just grit their teeth and pay up. Persecution is not entirely a new phenomenon.

Seem to be doing all right with a couple of particular classes of ‘citizen’.
Custard will presumably be very pleased about this poll.
I thought my opinion of my local MP couldn’t sink lower (career poly, grrrr), but he’s jumped straight on Dan’s coattails and declared his support for anyone not voting Labor are evil racist nazis.
Fuckwit.
99% of the problems on this blog could be solved by dragging off three posters..
And struth ain’t one of them
Funny you mention him, Wally Waffler. He’s another one who advocates the wholesale murder of people he disagrees with.
I’m as happy as a pig in apple sauce.
This morning, I made a batch of piccalilli which will mature just in time to pack out Christmas baskets. And… this afternoon, prepared all the fruit for a good rum soak tonight*, before we do the big Christmas pudding thing tomorrow.
I’m making extras again this year: mini puddings suitably adorned for Christmas presents for neighbours and my cleaner/dear friend who, occasionally, needs a little extra TLC.
*I love a big sniff of the bowl next morning; that sweet, rummy bouquet that I’ve savoured for more than my 50+ years of marriage; taking me back to my childhood.
Oh, and now I’m going to enjoy an icy cold Chardy… or two.
One out of three already
Well, it’s the obvious thing to do.
Frees them (and Monty*) up to just randomly assault them in the street.
* I admit to being vaguely amused at the possible sight of Monty flailing his spaghetti arms in front of my face, and possibly even landing a couple of bitch slaps. I think the inevitable laughter might even preclude retaliation.

They will probably be running on the excess power from the nukes in the 5 Chinese Bases in the Antarctic. Especially the 3 that are in the Australian Antarctic Territory that our government refuses to demand be removed.
A gender imbalance emerges among trans teens seeking treatment

It’s very funny to watch. Those commenters here boisterously demanding others are muffled are the most unappealing, uninteresting, boring commenters here. They have almost zero interesting to say.
Can you imagine the sway those bingo wings would have?
Dozens of court docs relating to eight of pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s associates – including billionaire hotel magnate and female Brit – will be UNSEALED after judge rules public interest outweighs right to privacy
Judge Loretta Preska on Friday ordered dozens of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein’s associates to be unsealed
The bombshell papers are part of a defamation case that victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre brought against the financier’s madam and facilitator, Ghislaine Maxwell
The judge overrode objections from Tom Pritzker, the billionaire executive chairman of the Hyatt Hotels
In his submission to the court, Pritzker claimed it would ‘wrongfully harm (his) privacy and reputation’ if material related to him was made public
A total of 16 ‘Non-Party Does’ objected to the release of the files being made public and half have already been dealt with by the federal court in New York
The latest batch related to the remaining eight, referred to as Does 12, 28, 97, 107, 144, 147, 171, and 183
Chuckle. The LORD will stir up many people tomorrow.
My days of boiled pudding making are long over. But for those who continue the tradition…don’t forget to kiss the cook.

No earlier than usual. It has been a productive day, nonetheless. Beautiful breakfast, a run in some perfect Sydney weather (sunny, 24 degrees, low humidity) followed by washing the car (which was filthy and not cleaned since April, wheels were basically black) and communing with some neighbores and their dogues.
Stage one of the three stages of preparing the car for the south coast drive with Miss Emily is now complete. It’s still sunny and warm, I’m listening to some favourite tunes and life is good.
Take that, you nayzee b’stard! 🙂
I’m reminded of that weighty charade Shantaram, which I was forced to hate-read through a bookclub which, as a man, I was unwise to get entangled with in the first place.
The protagonist was such a zero, it was obviously a work of self-serving agrandisement by the charlatan author, who convinced Oprah Productions Inc and thereby her followers, that it was a true story. He- the author and his cypher leading man- had no past, no hobbies, no mates, no movies or books, no footy team, no favourite record… he hardly even existed outside the book, and was insufferably boring because his only purpose in life was to exist for his own self-authored pantomime.
He- Gregory Davis Roberts iirc- is as boring as batshit, and his book was too, even though it was technically tight and financially successful.
Seriously?
It’s called breast removal or mastectomy you mendacious mengeles.
