Green gruel news.

Want to eat healthy and save the planet? Replace beef with Spirulina algae, say researchers (12 Dec)

According to the study, for every kilogram of beef meat replaced with Icelandic Spirulina, consumers will save some 1,400 liters of water, 340 square meters of fertile land, and nearly 100 kilograms of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere. Moreover, the algae may be consumed in different forms, including as wet biomass, or in the form of paste, powder, or pill. For example, one can use Icelandic Spirulina powder as an ingredient in pasta, pancakes and pastries, or drink an Icelandic Spirulina shake.

Algae pills, yum. I’m excited already!

I blame a politicised police command for the bad behaviour during covid.

Politicised police command and “following orders” doesn’t get you a free pass. The good cops quit, went on long service leave, or refused to follow illegal orders during COVID. The rest revelled in it.

The Concept of Belief Changes Related to Psychedelic Experiences

The percentage of participants who identified as “believers” (e.g., in ultimate reality, a higher power and/or God, etc.) increased from 29% before the psychedelic experience to 59% after the experience. At both the factor and individual item level, higher ratings of mystical experience were associated with greater changes in beliefs. Belief changes assessed after the experience (on average eight years later) remained largely unchanged at the time of the survey.

Very weird. Also weird, in this time and civilization, is the belief experiences should shape our beliefs.

When did group guilt and group punishment become popular amongst you rugged individualists?

It’s not popular at all.

It’s about maintaining perspective.

The disgusting murder of police does not get a police force nor its members a free pass for their brutality and inhumanity.

Specifically, QLD police is such a vile organisation that right now they’re having to cancel intake training courses. No one wants to join.

A number of ex QLD cops on YouTube are revelling in this fact. A kick in the guts for a corrupt and partisan organisation, and a big thumbs up for the decency of Queenslanders.

Australian police forces should be left to wither on the vine.

Been enjoying the stories about counting coins.

The old man owned jukeboxes and pinball machines for a while. We all helped to count the coins in the evenings, in those white linen bank bags.

The trick was to shake them out onto a smooth (but not slippery) surface, and take them four at a time – for some reason this was optimal for 10c and 20c coins.

We all learned to roll them up tightly in the bank-supplied paper wrappers. Not a very useful skill down the track, except that it may have aided my later reputation for rolling finely crafted joints. 🙂

Oh, and I kept an eye out for unusual coins. I still have some of the commemorative 1954 florins (for the Royal visit) from those days.

Time for some Good News ‘Miniboat’ built by Rhode Island students makes it to England

Dec. 9 (UPI) — A “miniboat” made by students at three Rhode Island schools was placed in the Atlantic Ocean and washed up on a British beach 10 months later.

The boat, dubbed Inspiration, was made by students at Central Falls High School, Veterans Memorial Elementary and Raices Dual Language Academy, all schools located in Central Falls.

The boat was made seaworthy by the elementary students and instruments including GPS trackers were installed by the high school students. The project was organized by the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography to help teach kids about the ocean.

“This boat was almost a message in a bottle. It had lots of information about Central Falls and about the schools and the children that helped build it,” Andrea Gingris, assistant director of public engagement at URI-GSO, told WPRI-TV.

The miniboat was placed into the Atlantic Ocean in March 100 miles off the Rhode Island coast by the R/V Endeavor, the University of Rhode Island’s research vessel.

The small vessel’s sails carried it across the ocean in 10 months, and in November it was found on a beach in Christchurch, England.

Instructions included aboard the boat instructed the finders to bring it to a nearby school, which turned out to be Tiptoe Primary School in Lymington.

The students who built the boat were able to video chat with a Tiptoe class Thursday morning to talk about the project.

Very weird. Also weird, in this time and civilization, is the belief experiences should shape our beliefs.

Is it weird? Imagine you’ve never experienced fire but only the concept. You’d expect the ‘fire believers’ to be greatest among those that have had a ‘fire experience’ compared to those only familiar with the concept. As to the latter, I would think the reception of those ‘belief experiences’ will very much depend on the prior beliefs that are to be shaped.

It is weird in an age when subjective experience is massively discounted if not outright disregarded as a source of reliable knowledge. Fire is not a subjective experience, it is out there and obvious to all and sundry. Psychedelic experiences are internal and transient. Others can see the same fire but each person has an internal psychedelic experience that is variable intra and extra individually.

The beliefs derived often do not have to depend on prior beliefs. They can be transformative beliefs, shifting the person’s orientation toward life. The therapeutic benefits of psychedelic therapies may be contingent on having the mystical experience.

He also posted about his mistrust for authorities, including comments critical of the Queensland Special Emergency Response Team (Sert), which ultimately arrived at the property and is understood to have shot him.

“If you are a conservative, anti-vaxx (sic), freedom lover, protester, common law, conspiracy talker, alternative news, independent critical thinker, truther, Christian, patriot etc etc expect a visit from these hammers,” he said.

Gareth also posted about working in the Queensland child protection and education systems and appeared pre-occupied with the notion the government was running “re-education camps”.

4 Minutes Of Undiluted Truth On Mainstream TV

The last thing you’d ever expect to hear on a mainstream news channel, is the truth.

But – strange as it might seem – that’s exactly what happened on Wednesday night on the Tucker Carlson Show. Carlson interviewed veteran journalist Glenn Greenwald in a 4-minute segment that provided the best ‘easy-to-understand’ summary of the Ukraine War you’ll hear anywhere.

And what was so shocking about the interview, was how casually both men veered onto topics that are essential to grasping “How we got to where we are today” but which are entirely banned on all the other cable news channels.

That’s what makes the segment with Greenwald such a stunner, because it’s 4 glorious minutes of pure, unvarnished truth delivered from a platform that typically only produces, lies, disinformation and propaganda.

That’s why I transcribed the entire interview. Any mistakes are mine. Here it is:

Tucker Carlson– What bothers me is not so much what Zelensky is doing– there’s a lot of tyranny abound the world (and) I don’t brood on it. But the fact that (a) we are paying for it, and (b) our leaders are defending it. I think every American should be upset about that.

Glenn Greenwald– “I think in general, Americans should be very skeptical when the government says ‘We’re going to fight wars on the other side of the world and spend tens of billions of dollars in military aid to spread democracy.’ The US government doesn’t actually care about spreading democracy. Many of its closest allies in the world have always been some of the world’s most despotic regimes like Saudi Arabia and Egypt. All the US government cares about is whether these regimes serve US interests. …If you want to believe the fairy tale that the US government goes to war to spread democracy, then Ukraine is not the place for you. You mentioned the argument that ‘Zelensky is in war, he has to curb liberty’, but go back to 2021, a year before Russia invaded and you’ll find articles where he shut down opposition television stations and shut down opposition political parties (which is) the hallmark of what every tyrant or despot does….and that was true even before Russia invaded.”

Tucker Carlson– I wonder how Republicans can continue to defend this (because) I think you are right; I think our foreign policy is almost always about defending our interests…. But I don’t see our critical interests at stake here, so, what is this about?

Glenn Greenwald– If the US government was honest… they would get rid of this script that we have to go and defend democracy. That is a fairy tale that tries to get Americans to feel better about the fact that we are involved in many, many countries all over the world. That is not the real reason. The only reason to do it is for ‘vital US interests’. The line in Washington for decades was the US has no vital interests in Ukraine. That was Obama’s view, that was the bipartisan view. Why did that change? The only reason is because we saw an opportunity to trap Russia inside Ukraine all based on the view that Russia is our enemy (which is) something only Democrats should believe because they think Russia is to blame for the 2016 election and Hillary’s defeat. But why would Republicans want confrontation with Russia? What American benefits from that except arms manufacturers? …

Tucker Carlson– That’s a really good question, and I haven’t unraveled it. (But) It seems pretty clear that the Biden administration baited Russia into this invasion. You had the Vice President (Kamala Harris) in western Europe days before telling Zelensky to join NATO which, of course, they knew was a red line (for Russia) They wanted this invasion, I think that’s very obvious. Do you think this was all about ‘preparing for war with Russia’?

Glenn Greenwald– If you think Russia is a grave enemy of the United States, then it makes sense to try to lure them into a war that they can’t win, like we got lured into Afghanistan for 20 years or like we lured the Soviet Union into Afghanistan back in the ’70s because it does deplete your enemy. The question is: Why should Russia be seen as our enemy? Both Obama and Trump said there’s no reason to see Russia that way. It has one-fifteenth the size of our military budget. It’s not threatening American borders. Why are we so obsessed with spending tens of billions of dollars to weaken Russia which we could be using here at home to benefit the lives of American citizens when Russia is not doing anything to the United States unless you are a crazy ‘resistance’ person who believes they’re the reason Donald Trump won. But if you don’t believe that, what is the rational for this? There is none.”

Tucker Carlson– “I know, and as always, they have hijacked the best instincts of the American people, their compassion, and turned it against them. Glenn Greenwald, great to see you tonight”.

The man has a drinking problem which he hasn’t so far handled and a bipolar disorder is also not out of the equation

Functional alcoholics and undiagnosed psychiatric disorders are not that uncommon. More likely the type 2 bipolar. Perhaps he is like me because when I used to drink I could keep up with the mob but at a certain point I would take off, pouring the drinks down my throat and wanting more. At that point I might get a little crazy.

You are right about the potential suicide risk because as a journalist his public image is very much front and centre of his identity. Now he is unemployed that is worse because in males the unemployment rate parallels the suicide rate. I like Bukowski’s comment about suicide: “When I was young I was depressed all the time. But suicide no longer seemed a possibility in my life. At my age there was very little left to kill.”

Appeal to locate missing man from Dubbo
Thursday, 08 December 2022 09:13:13 AM

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a missing man from the state’s west.

Nathaniel Train, aged 46, was last seen in Dubbo on Thursday 16 December 2021; however, he remained in contact with his family until Sunday 9 October 2022.

When he could not be contacted by family or friends, he was reported missing to officers from Central North Police District on Sunday (4 December 2022), who immediately commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold serious concerns for Nathaniel’s welfare.

Nathaniel is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 183cm tall, of thin build, and has a long grey beard.

He was last seen wearing a white shirt and jeans and is known to always wear brown boots.

Anyone with information into Nathaniel’s whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

It wasn’t a bunch of ‘armed cookers’ it was two brothers and the wife of one, who’s distrust and hatred of government and the police etc appears to have long pre-dated covid mania.
The question utmost in my mind is knowing Gareth Train publically stated views on the police why anyone went there without significant precautions in the first place.
Don’t know about the fourth but a young girl with nine weeks experience, two others still wet behind the ears (one of whom was also a slip of a girl) dropping in on Mr Train for a friendly chat?
Bad bad decision by whomever sent them there.

Suicide rates in 2021 were the lowest since 2016(ABS data).

The person I talk to who is involved in data collection indicated that there had been a noticeable upward trend.

I believe them, but maybe I am biased just because of what I saw going on around me.

Many people expected the suicide rates to rise but I didn’t. Suicide is often very much about being alienated from society at large, about being ashamed of one’s identity or position in life. The lockdowns were universal, everyone was afflicted so if anything provided a sense of belonging, a commonality of suffering.

Corrupt cops are scum of the planet. Those “following orders” firing rubber bullets into crowds, throwing old ladies to the ground and then pepper spraying them…driving a knee into

They should all be in cell for a very long time.

There is no reason for them to cook that data and using those style of arguments is just another example of people committing the source fallacy to maintain their prior beliefs. The phrase ‘serious concern for welfare’ used in conjunction with ‘missing person’ is code for ‘all indications are he’s going to neck himself’ and ‘Radio Rental’ (mental).

That would have explained four cops – almost all vastly inexperienced – going to an otherwise shit job. Apparently happens all the time. Except when it goes a bit pear-shaped, like yesterday.

Been enjoying the stories about counting coins. The old man owned jukeboxes and pinball machines for a while. We all helped to count the coins in the evenings, in those white linen bank bags.

The trick was to shake them out onto a smooth (but not slippery) surface and take them four at a time – for some reason this was optimal for 10c and 20c coins. We all learned to roll them up tightly in the bank-supplied paper wrappers.

We are near kindred spirits Johanna! You probably recall how black the tips of your fingers were after handling all the coins. In volume, coins are filthy things. I didn’t use the paper wrappers – plastic coin bags instead – but your father’s business was probably a much earlier era to my own.

I have no doubt that a well placed pinball or jukebox machines could make a ton of money. But strangely, some people didn’t seem to think those things were a ‘business’ but rather just a ‘hobby’ to make a few extra bucks. That was true of course for a few operators but with volume machines, all cash and profit margins most businesses can only dream about, it was opportunity knocking. 🙂

Sam Bankman-Fried Charged in New York & Arrested in the Bahamas

From Armstrong Economics –

“Sam Bankman-Fried of cryptocurrency giant FTX and trading firm Alameda Research, has been arrested in the Bahamas on criminal charges, the Bahamas Attorney General’s Office announced Monday. The arrest “followed receipt of formal notification from the United States that it has filed criminal charges against SBF and is likely to request his extradition,” the office said.

In a statement, U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said: “Earlier this evening, Bahamian authorities arrested Samuel Bankman-Fried at the request of the U.S. government, based on a sealed indictment filed by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. We expect to move to unseal the indictment in the morning and will have more to say at that time.”

Police shooting: Slain NSW teacher Nathaniel Train made complaints about college

EXCLUSIVE

12:21PM December 13, 2022

A missing NSW primary school teacher involved in the murder of three people, including two Queensland police officers, had made a number of complaints about a troubled majority Aboriginal student college in northern NSW.

Former Walgett Community College Primary School executive principal Nathaniel Train – shot dead along with his brother and a woman on Monday night in Queensland – sent 16 emails to the NSW education department over two weeks in March 2021.

Mr Train also produced a document in 2020 that mandated a moderator be present during NAPLAN testing to “ensure protocols are followed so that data can be considered to be a valid representation of student ability”.

Mr Train was tracked down at the property in Wieambilla, south of Chinchilla, leading to a confrontation with police and a neighbour that left six people dead.

He had been declared missing by NSW Police and his brother Gareth, who, with his wife Stacey, owned the property where the shooting occurred, were shot dead by police.

On April 12 this year One Nation NSW Leader Mark Latham asked a number of questions in state parliament about whether assessments had been compromised by teachers and learning support officers assisting students and whether a year three student who couldn’t read achieving a high score in their NAPLAN numeracy test.

NSW Education Minister Sarah Mitchell told the NSW parliament Legislative Council Mr Train sent 16 emails over two weeks in March 2022 to the “Secretary Office” email and were then referred to the responsible unit.

Ms Mitchell said Mr Train met department deputy secretary Murat Dizdar and the director of educational leadership Tom Ballard at the on May 11 in 2021.

She said Mr Dizdar did not recall Mr Train disclosing students had been assisted by school staff on their NAPLAN tests and denied the deceased principal had raised allegations or provided material relating to cheating at the school.

“He does recall Mr Train discussing some matters that Mr Train had experienced during the course of his educational leadership,” she said.

Nearly 100 per cent of students at Walgett Community College, the senior school to Walgett Community College Primary School, are Indigenous and the school has well documented problems with student violence.

Ms Mitchell said Mr Train had provided “anecdotal information” about surveys being completed with one-on-one assistance from support teachers at the primary school.

“Some students, including those with either lower literacy levels or who present with English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD), may need further explanations to better understand some Tell Them From Me questions,” she said.

Mr Latham also asked whether parents had requested the creation of a “suspension room at the school so that ‘they don’t have their kids at home’”.

Ms Mitchell responded that an “engagement centre” had been created at Walgett Community College Primary School to “bolster student participation and reduce the need for suspensions by supporting students with the development of social skills, and a more positive approach to learning”.

Mr Latham also asked about high teacher absenteeism at the school, to which Ms Ms Mitchell replied “is well resourced and is staffed by qualified teachers and other para-professionals.”

A Department of Education spokesperson says Nathaniel Train had stopped working for the department in March 2022 and had not worked at any school in NSW since August 2021.

“Our sincere condolences go to the Queensland Police and the families and friends of those impacted by the tragic incident in rural Queensland overnight,” said the spokesperson.

“One of the deceased was a former NSW Education employee who had not been working at a NSW school since August 2021. He officially left our employment in March this year.

“Extra counselling will be provided at the impacted school today and for as long as staff and students require support.

One Nation NSW leader Mark Latham said Mr Train left Walgett primary school after suffering a heart attack and said the slain principal’s experience with the education department had left him bitter and bruised.

“He was a passionate school reformer who had to leave for a health reason but was determined for his work [at Walgett Community College Primary School] to go on and was disappointed when it didn’t,” said Mr Latham.

Mr Latham disputed reports that the emails Mr Train sent to the education department indicated a decline in the former principal’s mental health.

“He contacted me as a passionate and concerned former principal whose sole motivation was the best interest of Indigenous kids and he had documentation that supported his complaint,” he said.

And see Dover’s Post on ‘The War in Ukraine’ with those 3 Youtube videos. Top Stuff Dover and well done for posting that.

It seems the understanding of “personal responsibility” and “individualism” is lost on people. ..especially women…who we note again go off virtue signalling again this morning
So let’s put it in point form to make it clear.

No one here is or has said they support the killing of cops.

Individuals have made individual choices to join and enforce unconstitutional criminal decrees by tyrants….the Nuremberg excuse does not fly.
The actions of Australian police forces have shocked the world with their enthusiastic brutality and tyrannical behavior.
So I proclaim I shed no tears for them.
Not before I shed them for the 500 a week now dying due to their behavior.

If you cry crocodile tears about the two cops while ignoring the five hundred deaths a week in Australia due to tyrannical mandates they willingly enforced as the armed thugs of criminals…..expect someone like me to point out your pathetic cowardly hypocrisy and typical female trait of not holding a firm grip on right and wrong and personal responsibility once emotion grabs you.

Daily Insight:

13 Dec 2022
I was in the Police for a short time, and being a police officer can be a thankless job. However, police also have the job of keeping the public onside. You don’t want the people you’re sworn to protect hating you. It makes your job very difficult. In this video, I’ll show you some public comments related to a recent event where police officers in Queensland lost their lives.

On the 12 December 2022, four police officers went to a rural property in Queensland’s Western Downs about three hours west of Brisbane to investigate reports of a missing person and were met with a hail of gunfire. Sources likened the scene to an ambush. Police returned fire, but two officers were critically injured and died at the scene. They were Constable Matthew Arnold, aged 29, and Constable Rachel McCrow, aged 26. The slain officers were shot at close range by armed men wearing camouflage who subsequently took the officers’ pistols. Neighbour Alan Dare was also shot down and killed by the armed offenders. Two officers managed to escape. The male officer suffered a gunshot wound and was taking to Chinchilla Hospital. The female officer managed to escape after the offenders reportedly started a bushfire in a bid to find her. Specialist police officers responded shooting dead two men and a female. The two men killed in the firefight were brothers Nathaniel and Gareth Train. Nathaniel, 46, was a former Queensland school principal.

Queensland Police Union President Ian Leavers stated, “As they lay injured, this ruthless, murderous trio, have gone and executed the two police officers on the ground in cold blood. This was a pure execution… they had no chance. This murderous trio lit a fire to try and coax [the female officer] out. If she stood up, she would be shot. She thought she would either be shot, or she would be burnt alive. This is absolutely horrendous. Our thoughts are also with police who bravely contained and managed the subsequent operation that has now resulted in the deaths of all the offenders. We have never seen anything like this. It is an absolute tragedy.”

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese responded on Twitter, “Terrible scenes and a heartbreaking day for the families and friends of the Queensland Police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. My condolences to all who are grieving tonight – Australia mourns with you”. Of course, there were some mournful comments as expected: “Very sad day for Police in QLD in fact worldwide. They deserve to come home after work”, “It is unforgivable that our beautiful, innocent young men go to work and do not come home. What happened to Australia’s GUN LAWS that John Howard introduced?”. However, many of the comments, perhaps the majority of them, were quite negative (noting that this is not me endorsing these comments): “Nobody would care if it were Victorian police. They are the most hated thugs and the line is getting thinner. They chose to stand under a [clears throat] and broke their oath”, “I don’t see you put out a tweet for people like Danny Lim Who receive police brutality which happens nearly every week somewhere in Australia”, noting that 78-year-old activist Danny Lim had failed to comply with a move-on order in NSW a few weeks ago, and was brutally arrested which left him in hospital with bleeding on the brain and now requires two canes to walk. “Yes terrible scenes. Sadly with governments and police treating society with total disrespect over the last 3 years creating the biggest mental health crisis ever seen, situations like these are to be expected and now you have cut funding which will make matters worse”, “Ask Defence lawyers and victims of police brutality how many bad police there are who do the wrong things first before you shred a tear for these lot”.

Most news agencies don’t allow comments on their channels, but Sky News do, noting that anybody from around the world, not just Australians, can leave a comment: “Why are they only mentioning the police that were killed? Doesn’t the innocent civilian deserve condolences too?”, “Hollow words from our two-faced leaders. Never have these hypocrites ever considered the Police. Where was Anastasia’s care (the Premier of Queensland) when forcing these brave people to undertake an inoculation to keep their jobs? It is sad what has happened, but the police are far too heavy handed these days”, “What happened to the fun days of beating up peaceful lockdown protesters? Oh well. You get what you bring”.

Anyway, you get the idea. They’re just some of the comments that are filling up our comments sections regarding police in Australia. I’m definitely not saying I condone any of it (I know people in the Police Service). This tragic loss of life is completely horrible and unnecessary. However, police have seriously got to ask the question – Have Australians turned on the Police?

Watch this. It’s the 10 year bond yield. Even though the inflation rate is around 7% in the US at the moment the 10 year is yielding 3.6%. In a hyper-inflationary environment the yield should be multiples higher but it’s not. Moreover , the yield curve (short vs long) is showing an economic slowdown as the shape of the curve is pitched higher in the short term while lower in the long end. This is cleed an inverted yield curve. This doesn’t speak to hyperinflation. Commodity prices have also been dropping.

Watch this , it’s the Goldman Sachs commodity Index.

Inflation is trickling lower and the Fed maybe too snug now.

Ho ho. Memories of Christmas bun fights.
We had a subbie outfit doing engineering development work for us. They occupied four buildings in an industrial estate south of Sydney.
They had performed well, but because of a few relatively minor niggles during the year our boss decided to turn on an end of year P Sup for them at their site.
All went swimmingly until they discovered that the mob down the lane had a couple of strippers at their show.
Our subbies grabbed the eskies and the food and buggered off down the lane to join the other party.

Islam has six articles of faith (some would say seven), none of which specifically mention hijab.

My impression is that none of hijab, niqab, burka etc. are mandated in Islamic doctrine but that they have merely become established in culture as a means of doing what is mandated in doctrine. I suppose if you live in such inward-turned societies that distinction becomes a bit blurred and the clothing cannot be separated from the stricture demanding chastity of the most soul-crushing and dehumanising sort.

It is interesting to compare it to the what full body covering represented in the West – it being a basis of fashion for a long time. Those artists used the colours, the folds and the drape, and the shape of the fabrics to emphasise femininity and the female form. In Islam, whatever it might have been at time or in places, the end result has been a suffocating blanket that, strangely enough, reduces women to sexual objects (vessels of carnal temptation and evil) conspicuous by the extent to which they must be covered while in Western art it was used to lift women up out of our mundane existence and make them worthy of even a degree of adoration.

A cooker is someone who believes that the government is fundamentally illegitimate, with a strong cross over to sovereign citizenry.

That’s completely normal. Our government is a long chain of reasoning and nepotism back to Horst and Henga being the best murderers, better than Caligua or Caesar were…or Boudicca & Harold Godwinson.

There is very little rational about the way we are governed bar a thin veneer of late 19th century liberalism. Australia has had multiple rebellions and mutinies (even in the 20th century) and even an Aboriginal warlord (Windradyne) and even a British (Irish) self made (elected by his comrades against British rule and short lived) Emperor of the Kingdom of Australia, ruling over New Ireland [Castle Hill] (Philip Cunningham). They had more legitimacy than the colonial governors until we had elected colonial Parliaments.

This may be because they believe the government is actually a corporation, or that it is run by a secret cabal of religious operatives, or that the globalist New World Order is already in charge. Or all of the above.

Although this is complete nonsense*, it doesn’t matter who is in charge.

The only legitimate decisions where there is coercion involved can be consensus based, not majoritarian.

Virtually all government action is morally invalid. Government should absolutely devolve to the smallest possible jurisdiction.

*After Australia “as a dominion signed the Versailles Treaty as a sovereign power”, our constitutional position was not defined properly until the Australia Acts. 65 years of absolute piffle. It still hasn’t ended. King Charles can disallow State legislation in person in Australia (and that State) and PM Dutton effectively could veto Commonwealth legislation under 1 year old (presumably, Commonwealth regulation existing for < 12 months as well). No one (?) willingly voted for this ridiculous nonsense, however it is there plainly stated in the constitution.

Duncanm, I suppose they were warned about a police visit.

The occupants of the house wouldn’t have required any advance warning.
The four cops would not have snuck up like Ninjas.
It would have been near impossible to not notice their impending arrival, then to slip out of the house & plant in the timber to ambush them.

The block is a hundred acres, fully timbered, in the middle of thousands of acres of similar country.
The following clues would have been unmissable:
Noise of police car arriving.
Extra points if the car drove on crushed gravel.
“Thunk” noise of car door closing.
Actually, make that Four “thunks”
Noise of girls clambering over fence/gate, four times.
Extra points if conversation between coppers, say “The gate seems to be closed, let’s climb the fence”
Extra points if footsteps on gravel.

That’s the audio, there was also visual:
White police car standing out like against bush background.
Extra points if more than one police car.
Four people walking up the road toward the house.

They’d have had to be blind & deaf to miss the arrival.
Extra points if the three occupants are paranoid whack jobs who think the government may be trying to “get” them.

That said, the majority of police work stopped being police work when it started being about enforcement of policy rather than legislation, albeit hiding behind legislation with a completely different intent than what it was used for, and created by unelected mid-ranking bureaucrats.

There is a line in one of the Tom Clancy books, where the CIA paramilitary John Clark says that he “enforce[s] policy, not the law”. That is a distinction that should always be maintained by the enforcers of each, just as the difference between the roles of the ADF (To kill the enemy) and the Police (To arrest the miscreant) should also be maintained.

Queensland shooting: Gunman Gareth Train was a conspiracy theorist

By Michael Mckenna
Reporter

Cadet journalist
2:03PM December 13, 2022
No Comments

A gunman who killed two police officers in a shootout in western Queensland on Monday had posted conspiracy theories online including that the Port Arthur massacre was faked by government to enable a crackdown on gun ownership.

Gareth Train, wife Stacey and his brother Nathaniel Train, a principal of a NSW primary school until last year, were killed by police in a shootout Monday night after they earlier ambushed officers who visited their remote property at Wieambilla, 300km west of Brisbane.

Police had been asked by their NSW counterparts to go to the property on an inquiry about Nathaniel Train, who had been reported missing.

They opened fire on the unsuspecting police as they walked up the driveway of the property about 4pm, hitting three police with another able to escape into bushland.

Constables Matthew Arnold, 26, and Rachel McCrow, 29, both from Tara police station, were killed in an ambush on a remote property northwest of Brisbane which they were visiting to make inquiries about a missing NSW man.

A neighbour, who was also shot dead when police went to the property, was identified as Alan Dare, 58.

Internet searches show that Gareth Train was a prolific author of bizarre conspiracy theories about Port Arthur, the Catholic Church and against police.

In one post on “Citizens Initiated Referendums”, he described convicted Port Arthur shooter Martin Bryant as the “perfect patsy” and that the 1996 mass killing of 35 people was staged.

“Anyone who watch the live media coverage at the time (1996) and was aware of the political deceit lead up, knows that this was a Government Psychological Operation to disarm the Australian population,” he wrote.

“Martin was the perfect patsy. The Australian government is guilty of mass murder, it’s not the first time and won’t be the last. Joint operation CIA, MI6, Mossad, ASIO and the Australian SASR.

“The MK special operator (shooter 1) gave the game away in a recorded phone conversation dropping the operation name JAMIE. ‘Jamie’ is not shooter 1’s name nor did he make it up on the spot, he was dropping the code name to be clever.”

And in an ominous post, Train wrote of warning police about coming to his property.

“I have directed law enforcement to leave my premises over the last 20yrs, having no reason or grounds and at times have also asked them to remove their hands from their weapons or pull their pistols and whistle Dixie,” he said.

“Fortunately for me they have all been cowards.

“Our country is at a point where even cowards are now dangerous because they are unpredictable in groups, turn your back and you may find yourself out cold on the floor with law enforcement dancing on your head. We are seeing this in Victoria.

In posts to the Cairns News site in November, last year Train wrote about the Jesuit World “Order” when discussing protests against Covid pandemic lockdowns.

“How did we get here”,’’ he wrote.

“Intelligence operation after intelligence operation, false flag after false fla, instilling fear into a retarded populous distracted by sports and beer to install totalitarian corporate Jesuit government muppets.”

I wondered that. It seems that the police were walking towards the house and were a short(ish) distance from it when the gunfire started.

Therefore, we can presume that one of the offenders saw the police coming and said “righto, get the guns and we’ll finish them” (or similar). My point is, that critical decision-making moment to shoot first rather than simply go outside, unarmed, and see what the police wanted.

Beyond that, I wonder at the follow-up thoughts of the offenders. They must have known that their actions guarantees a huge (and probably lethal) police response. Did they envisage a long siege and shoot out with the police? Live posting to the internet for their valiant cause (whatever that may have been)? Or, was this (almost) suicide by cop?

Weird. Same mindset as Jonestown or Wacol perhaps.

Correct. Two brothers and the wife of one of them, plus two cops and a neighbouring farmer.

Dover – yes. It seems the woman was an accomplice of the offenders but it isn’t yet clear what role she played (ie. active shooter or otherwise).

Sorry to butt in, but where is the Welsh bit you were talking about a while ago?
Not meaning to be nasty or anything, just curious.

My maternal grandfather with the Danish surname, who came from the Scottish borders (hence my added Scottish aka Pictish and Danish ancestry), went to South Wales, became a coalminer, and married a Welshwoman who obviously by her looks had Nordic ancestry, although her father was of ancient Welsh tribal stock and looked and sounded it – small, dark and wheedling. Many Welsh and Irish people had Norse ancestry as the Norse were very active in those Western coastal forays. I am also a little bit bog Irish on the Welsh side. My father’s people were early Flemish Huguenots who married the East Anglian descendants of the Iceni and Trinovantes tribes, with traces of extra Roman and later Germanic Saxon (also found in the Flemish majorly expressed in me) thrown in.

I like to think of myself as a tribute to the strength of very hybrid genes.
All of my ancestors had a fight on their hands for survival. 🙂

You little Catanna, my nana used to chide at my wilfulness.
That was a blast from a distant past, a folk term now long gone.
In old Brythonic Wales, Cat=battle and Ana= valkyrie-styled goddess, hence Catanna.
Joyce used Ana in reference to the goddess of Dublin’s Livy – Latinised to Anna Livia Plurabelle.
Two symmetrical hills in Ireland are anciently known as the Breasts of Anu, a very early female deity.
Quickly turned into St. Anne on England’s western coastline post-Christianisation.
Notably, Ana was also said to be the mother of the folkloric King Arthur of the Welsh.

Dover

From upthread:

Gareth Train, wife Stacey and his brother Nathaniel Train, a principal of a NSW primary school until last year, were killed by police in a shootout Monday night

Arnold and McCrow, police officers and Dare, a neighbour were murdered earlier by the trio and another officer was wounded in the leg but managed to escape by car. The fourth, a female, was trapped by the killers in burning scrub which they hoped would flush her out so they could kill her too.

It is weird in an age when subjective experience is massively discounted if not outright disregarded as a source of reliable knowledge.

This is a hard sell when we are told that the category sex by nothing less than Cambridge Dictionary is something that we can simply a matter of choice as opposed to nature. In fact, the pecularity of our age is its slavish devotion to ‘subjective experience’.

Fire is not a subjective experience, it is out there and obvious to all and sundry. Psychedelic experiences are internal and transient. Others can see the same fire but each person has an internal psychedelic experience that is variable intra and extra individually.

It isn’t that clear-cut and the ambiguities might themselves reside in the categories and the metaphysic behind them. We can claim to see the same fire but given that our experiences are dependent on our senses there is an irreducible ‘subjectivity’ to them. Similarly, psychedelic experiences do not emerge without cause, they are typically the result of some drug or some privation that causes the brain to hallucinate.

We can argue that people are slavish towards subjective experience but in this age more than any other we demand standards of evidence that go beyond personal experience. We don’t rely feeling cold to tell us the temperature, we use a device, as we do in so many areas of life. Doctors don’t rely on how a patient feels, they rely on a variety of lab tests. In search of certainty we look to standards of proof that are not contingent on a specific individual experience, rather on that which accords with the experience of many thousands if not millions.

You can ask a million people about their experience of fire and they will tell you it is hot, it destroys things, it it hurts. Psychedelic experiences are personal and highly variant. The fire analogy doesn’t hold because fire has demonstrable physical effects in the world completely independent of our subject experience of fire. Psychedelics have no equivalent effect.

The variance of experience is the critical factor here. For example, despite some around me hallucinating on the same drug I never have hallucinated nor had a mystical experience. I used to say to them, “it is just the drug”, but so many people undergo a radical change in spite of that brute fact.

There is no satisfactory explanation for the variation in individual experience of using psychedelics but anyone who puts their hand in the fire knows it burns. What I’m interested in is the transformative nature of the experience. It is like near death experiences or conversion experiences described in some religious texts both Eastern and Western. Fire doesn’t cause people to choose a new way of living unless of course it leaves them very physically damaged.

Anyway, some of them also carry Aboriginal flags and “never ceded sovereignty”.

Given that Aborigines claimed that they were guardians of the land, they were the caretakers of the land, but they didn’t own the land, can you claim sovereignty over land you denied owning?

That was when they were after native title. Now they want more.

It’s getting easier to imagine the depths of hate, paranoia, fear and cruelty that human beings can descend to in order to commit the crimes detailed above. And entitlement – an entitlement to kill people who meant you no harm, even your neighbour.

All you have to do is read comments on social media. What a sewer.

Speaking of the media, on last night’s Ch 9 news this ‘evolving situation’ was the lead item. Not much detail but the Ch 9 reporter was saying how communications were difficult in the area and that three police were not responding to police radio calls. Trying to show how smart he was, he went on to say that this was known as a “dead zone”.

It was quite obvious that something very serious had happened and I remarked to Mrs Speedbox that the reporter should probably cease using the terminology “dead zone”.

A Russian couple was walking down the street in St. Petersburg the other night, when the man felt a drop hit his nose. “I think it’s raining” he said to his wife.

“No, that felt more like snow to me,” she replied. “No, I’m sure it was just rain, he said”. Well, as these things go, they were about to have a major argument about whether it was raining or snowing.

Just then they saw a minor communist party official walking toward them. “Let’s not fight about it,” the man said, “let’s ask Comrade Rudolph whether it’s officially raining or snowing.”

As the official approached, the man said, “Tell us, Comrade Rudolph, is it officially raining or snowing?”

“It’s raining, of course” he answered and walked on. But the woman insisted “I know that felt like snow!” To which the man quietly replied “Rudolph the Red knows rain, dear!”

A neighbour who apparently came to investigate the fire, presumably to help bring it under control.
