Land values and final sale prices usually stop too much social housing (aka housos) in the leafy suburbs. Developers usually wear a certain % as a price for getting development approval. Ditto public “art”.

If we are going to have lots more Chinese and Indian migrants then we are going to need lots more bronze coloured high rise apartments for the Chinese and lots more free standing new homes in the outer burbs for the Indians.
Get to it, planners.

Two of the offenders jumped into the Daly River, which is known for its significant crocodile population, trying to evade police. Those males were subsequently arrested.

Do you realise they would have ended up on the list of “Deaths in Custody” had the Salties decided on a snack? But if a white man who jumped in to save them had also been eaten, they would not appear on the list?

Peta Credlin: More migrants without more infrastructure will be disastrous

If you’ve ever wondered why your wages are stagnant, your rent is going through the roof, and your commute is getting longer, Peta Credlin has the answer: It’s sustained high immigration.

The Sunday Telegraph

What do you call a country that’s ramping up immigration at the exact time it’s got a housing and health crisis? Wrong-headed would be the most polite way of putting it.

And what do you say about a government that is deliberately engineering an energy crisis at the same time that it’s presiding over record numbers of newcomers? Probably the most charitable description would be that it’s incapable of understanding that actions have consequences.

Australia might be the one country in the world to have successfully stopped a wave of illegal migration by boat but that certainly doesn’t mean that we’ve got legal migration right.

Since the end of the Howard era, where immigration ran at an average of 100,000 a year, it’s been ramped up to average close to 250,000 a year.

That means a city the size of Canberra is needed every two years just to accommodate the newcomers.

And if you think more than doubling our migrant intake since Howard was a big jump, then the news on Friday that it will likely clock 400,000 this year, in net terms, will make you scratch your head and ask, “Where is the proper planning from government to ensure we get this right and don’t make life harder for everyone here already?”

That’s because everyone who’s here other than as a tourist needs somewhere to live, a job, and a means of getting around.

If you’ve ever wondered why your wages are stagnant, your rent is going through the roof, and your commute is getting longer and harder, there’s an obvious explanation. It’s sustained high immigration, because more migrants mean downward pressure on wages, upward pressure on prices and more strain on infrastructure, especially housing and health services.

The Albanese government has raised the “official” permanent migration cap to 195,000 a year but that’s not the whole story.

This “permanent” group are the so-called skilled migrants (and their dependants) although we use the term “skilled” loosely because only about half of these are working in their area of supposed skill five years after arrival.

Then there’s almost as many again that come as temporary workers and students (many of whom are really here to work, not study, and are buying immigration rather than education). As the pandemic proved, the jobs migrants mostly fill are in cleaning, aged care, hospitality, driving and working in agriculture, not the high-end professions.

All up, Anthony Albanese expects 650,000 to arrive in the two years, even though the building industry, that will have to house them all, is in a crisis of its own.

New home sales are at their lowest level since 1996. Some 1500 building firms have gone bust since the middle of last year due to supply bottlenecks and fixed-price contracts.

The National Housing Corporation says we need at least 180,000 new homes a year, yet we’ll be lucky to build 140,000.

Is it any wonder that there are no rental vacancies and rents are going up at 10 per cent-plus a year?

Yet the big Australia ideology, like the climate ideology, that has completely captured officialdom, just grinds on, leading to needless daily difficulties in the lives of just about everyone.

That’s not just flat wages, high rents, and clogged roads and public transport, but no places in childcare, aged care or on health and hospital waiting lists.

Frankly, it was pathetic that Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil, when releasing the government’s immigration review this week, refused to answer a question from the media about the population size that the government’s rapid migrant intake would deliver.

That’s right — we’ve more than quadrupled Australia’s yearly migrant intake over the past 16 years since Howard and yet there is no population plan, and the minister in charge won’t tell us if she’s pitching for 40 million, 60 million or 80 million-plus.

As well, on Friday, the Liddell coal-fired power station (supplying 10 per cent of NSW’s electricity) closed down for good. In just two years, so will Eraring (that currently supplies 25 per cent).

The politicians insist that there’s no need to worry — even though wind and solar power only works 30 per cent of the time on average, and even though the new gas-fired power station in the Hunter and Snowy 2.0 are way behind schedule and way over budget.

Yet with 650,000 more people drawing down power, let alone the millions of electric vehicles that governments want on the roads, blackouts are inevitable.

Then there’s the fact that the Albanese government is making it almost impossible for new coal mines and gas fields to open, even though coal and gas provide $200bn worth of export income a year and tens of billions in tax revenue to help fund measures like the NDIS.

The coming train wreck is obvious, yet politically correct governments seem incapable of changing policy.

It’s hard to avoid the conclusion that ministers and officials are simply drowning when they can’t see the absurdity of ramping up immigration, without also ramping up house and infrastructure construction. And if it’s not realistic to ramp up construction, then we must scale back immigration to a level where infrastructure and services can cope.

There’s a real opportunity for the Liberal Opposition here, to come up with a clear policy that will resonate with voters and create an alternative: to take immigration back to the average of the Howard years at least until we have more capacity to cope.

And say to business that you might just have to pay locals more and train more young Australians, rather than just take the soft option of importing cheap labour from abroad.

Peter Dutton, over to you!

“Diane Abbott, who in 1987 became Britain’s first black female member of parliament, caused widespread outrage last weekend when she wrote in The Observer that Jews, Irish people and travellers don’t face racism but merely suffer the same level of prejudice as people with red hair. The only possible victims of racial prejudice, she suggested, are black people.”

Abbott has a history of making anti-Semitic remarks. Her words above are exactly what our Lidia thinks and says. It is so obscene, so despicably ignorant of history and so inciteful, and yet they get away with it because of woke identity politics.

Pogria’s link provided some excellent extra clips, the one of the gun-toting horsewoman was a modern Valkyrie for sure, and a few further down was the one starting with a gearstick and moving into an extraordinary range of human movement showing how much we are creatures of rhythm. Don’t buy Maybellene make-up products any more if you ever have. Cheap stuff anyway

I have been buying Maybelline ever since I started suffering reactions to the heavily perfumed competition. (Prior to that, I used Lancome.)

Yes, it is cheap, especially when Woolies chucks it out on a half price special. This means that many women can budget to buy a reasonable quality product at a good price.

But also yes, I have sent them a massive spray, highlighting that, in order to meet their diversity, equity and inclusion requirements, they have myriad diverse, XX chromosome options to choose from and in selecting a man they have dealt a humiliating, never-to-be-forgotten attack on their prime customer base.

Leaked Government data from the Wellington Region in New Zealand shows the number of heart attacks resulting in hospitalisation has increased by 83%. Those percentages are quite surprising.
When I was pretty crook with a pericardial and pleural effusion, they decided to drain them in the ward and asked if I minded having some med and nursing students in to watch.
Of course I couldn’t help myself. “Sure – charge ’em all admission, the blokes can pay double, and the pretty girls get in with just a smile.”
The reason I bring this up is because it was considered rare enough that it was worthwhile as a teaching moment that interrupted normal lessons. Now it seems to be a run of the mill occurrence that will occur without comment.

Yes, and once the energy crunch comes, power companies will either be nationalised (hopefully not)
Or, granted taxpayer money to fastrack new, stable energy sources to prevent them being decapitated by an angry mob (still not a good outcome)

I would prefer the first option simply because we know that politicians are stupid so corporate leaders are expected to be smarter, after all they are paid more. That they rolled over for the greens is unforgivable.

I know that shareholders will be shortchanged and will need to be compensated. If we had all those billions for renewables subsidies we can buy back the power stations.

The third option of course is for the government to build new gas, coal and nuclear power stations if the private enterprise will not.

The First Fleet brought provisions which were estimated to last two years. Those were flour, rice, salt, pork, salt beef, “pease” and buter. For two and a half years after the arrival of the First Fleet, not one ship arrived from England to bring further stores – the ship “Sirius” returned from the Cape of Good Hope in May, 1789, but only with flour, seed wheat and barley.

James Ruse had proved that agriculture was posssible in the Parramatta area, and in 1791 the Governor called together the Colony’s time epired convics and informed those chosen that “such of them as wished to become settlers should receive every encouragement.”
Those who wished to stay were granted modest areas of land to farm at Prospect Hill, North Parramatta and Field of Mars (Ryde).
Nearly 40 years before white people settled in Melbourne or Perth and nearly 50 years before the founding of Adelaide men and women were working their farms and going about their business in these little frontier settlements.

Right – so I get that people have bought into the mad frenzy of media telling us how bad Biden is. But thats just “feelz” and nothing more without actual proof.

Any evidence that Biden is encouraging his fans to mob up and take over Congress any time soon? Any solid evidence that the election was not won by Democrats? Note that conspiracies are not proof and objective evidence ought to be available for any great claims of crime or corruption. Not trying to fire up anything contentious for the sake of it, just asking for proof behind claims …

Just emailed Dover the Lindsay transcript.

One of the statements made:

(Marxism) just evolved into different species, to attack the West at its weakest points, through our tolerance, through our acceptance, through our openness, through our generosity through our best traits…

He forgot to mention the massive oversupply of complacency, apathy and stupidity in the West.

In this talks, as well as in New Discourses podcasts, Lindsay also advocates against the use of violence to woketards’ provocations…
How a pacifist, Christian, turn-the-other-cheek strategy could possibly succeed against the overt violence of the activists, Antifas and other assorted scum still escapes me.

But a brilliant synthesist of a complex, inter-connected and overtly evil set of philosophies.

I’d had them tested before and they were ‘Desert Diamonds” – just crystalline silica or something. The value was in the cutting. Some were quite nicely done, but essentially worthless. So I took them to a Jewellers and got a valuation certificate. Worth – $500. Cost of valuation – $500

One thing is to call it out just as Lindsay does.

Expect to be met with guffaws and ridicule but push on. I like the words ‘communist’ and ‘Commo’ and use them when talking of the Greens. You can use ‘Marxist’ if of more delicate sensibility. The thing is that university types like to mock this kind of language but it is accurate and it provokes them and as Lindsay shows it’s not just empty rhetoric. Its meaty and substantial and cuts through the soft, wordy, virtue signaling that the left deploy and hide behind.

It seems the build up to Federation was the time of a great deal of wheeling, dealing, and deal making. Diamond Head, located in Crowdy Bay National Park, is one of the most colourful and beautiful areas on NSW’s coast and is well worth a visit. I liked the topaz especially, it almost glows. Luminescent. That place also had lots of smoky quartz, which is pretty yummy too. All were very worn and rounded, which means eons of erosion. Australia’s AUKUS partner red-faced after sub files found in pub’s toilet
Rob Harris
By Rob Harris
April 29, 2023 — 7.36pm

London: Australia’s partner in the $368 billion AUKUS defence deal has been left red-faced after official documents about one of its Astute-class submarines were found in the toilets of a local pub.

Files carrying details about HMS Anson were left in the Furness Railway in Cumbria, alongside a Royal Navy lanyard, and showed the inner workings of the nuclear-powered submarine and were used by submariners learning how to isolate and depressurise elements of its system.

The pub is a short distance from a BAE systems shipyard in Barrow-in-Furness, where Australian submariners will undergo training as part of the agreement with Britain and the United States over the cutting-edge nuclear submarines.

The Royal Navy has played down part of the report carried in Britain’s The Sun newspaper, which said the files, marked “official sensitive”, were discovered on the floor of a cubicle.

Government guidance says that information marked “Sensitive” must only be shared on “genuine need to know” and could have damaging consequences if lost, stolen or published.

The Royal Navy said it would investigate the breach, but said the papers were generic resources and did not contain any classified information.

“These are generic training documents that carry no classified information,” a Royal Navy spokesman said. “However, we take all security matters extremely seriously and will investigate the circumstances of their discovery.”

How do we best deal with the woke progressive left and their incessant lies, deceptions, dissimulations, fictions, propaganda, disinformation, misinformation, myths, half-truths and exaggeration? Well, our first response should be verbal. A few days before he was sacked by Fox, Tucker Carlson gave a speech at the Heritage Foundation. In his speech Tucker said something we should all do when we deal with the progressive left and woke ideology. Tucker said….

“the more you tell the truth, the stronger you become”

Indeed. Instead of silence, instead of running for cover, instead of cowering in the corner, we need to stand up and tell the truth.

Some rag called the Daily Digest is telling readers who never heard of Tucker Carlson that he’s a controversial right wing conspiracy theorist fan boy of Trump. While we might lament how far gone the US media is, pause for a moment to reflect just how bad our own media crew is.
Ninety percent of them are supportive of Labor, Greens, and Teals.
This is why we have wall to wall Labor governments now, and why things will go from bad to worse here.

A nice bit of Slovenian electro-industrial rock.

I should watch the movie again! The band is Laibach, who did the soundtrack.

Not Laibach’s best work, but not bad.

They have been doing some excellent work lately, for example, Medea Material is absolutely top shelf.

Shame they are filthy commies though.

When the law makers and law enforcers are all on the side of the Marxists/Maoists, you have a problem with this strategy. You are back to 30’s Germany or, for Christians, Nero’s Rome. There aren’t a lot of options left.

“Medium level violence” works when the law is behind it (see BLM and Antifa in 2020). Low level cultural violence against inanimate objects like artworks and statues is permissible and has been for a long time, provided there’s an acceptable reason for it and the target is a class enemy.

I would also count the environmental vandalism of the so-called Green and renewable movement a form of violence. It makes no sense, either scientifically or aesthetically, yet it’s not only permissible, it’s stridently defended through all levels of the community and polity.

Anchor What:

In fact our Labor federal government is running ads encouraging booster shots of the very vaccines that Naomi Wolf, the former lefty feminist, says have caused a lot of damage to women’s reproductive capacity.

The government immigration policy, the refusal to increase the power, road and water infrastructure policy, and the immunisation policy that damages womens reproductive capacity – all these policies only make sense in a replacement of the population policy.
Sounds crazy?
Sounds very 2030 -2050 Net Zero to me. Australia being populated with Indian and Chinese immigrants who will replace us.
It’s about time we started thinking the unthinkable – that our elites want us gone and replaced by a more malleable voteherd and that they are working toward this.

The Bee also, Anchor.

Cassie reminded us last night that telling the truth makes you stronger and Matrix has a story about dealing with bullies.

You just have to speak up while you can, whenever the rubbish is spruiked. It’s the only way. Like Puddleglum, speaking the truth isn’t enough – you also have to put your foot into the fire and mash it out. And that takes courage and involves risk. Many here are much braver than me – I realised that during the Covid restrictions.

Some good news:

Brave Search Engine Ditches Bing, Achieves Self Reliance (29 Apr)

Tried it just now on Tony Heller’s site. MUCH better! Hitherto no search engine would give unforced results from his site, he was anathemized by both Bing and Goolag for climate wrongthink. Now I’m seeing relevant results, although not perfect since it didn’t return a recent blog post he put up – but it did put up a similar one from some days earlier.

Winston> I want to evaluate the counter proposition to what appears to be a common view here about Biden & Trump. What if Trump is a crazy lunatic who could draw us into nuclear war whereas Biden is too senile to achieve anything major?

Then compare their actual performance while in office.

Hospital food isn’t great, but can lead to excellent entertainment.

XR Founder Moans About His Carrots (29 Apr)

“Extinction Rebellion co-founder Roger Hallam has taken to Twitter to share his frustration in an 11-point thread after he was served carrots and a handful of potatoes for dinner as the ‘vegan option’ in hospital.

Mr Hallam posted a photo of an almost empty plate from his bed which had just a portion of carrots on it, writing 391 words on the environmental benefits of going vegan – but did admit he had already eaten the ‘six’ potatoes that were served on the side.

The controversial environmentalist, 56, who also helped form eco mobs Insulate Britain and Just Stop Oil, has been in hospital after ‘crushing’ his leg during an accident while riding his bike.”

Maybe a nice nurse will help him glue himself to the bed to protest more effectively.

Yes.
How has passive “resistance” worked out for the Tibetans, or the European Jews, among others, in the past?
As Mao famously said in 1927: “Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.”

In this climate, anything that doesn’t include an element of organised, tangible, kinetic-energy-laden “push back” that leads the evil woke to think twice about “trying it on” is a waste of time.
And thus, here we are…

SEXCLUSIVE: Experts warn of STI epidemic in RETIREMENT HOMES: Infection rates among seniors have quadrupled in some states over last decade — as doctors blame elderly DATING APPS, care-free attitudes and ease of access to Viagra

These seniors are getting buck wild on the PBS. These little whores are partying on my dime. I demand a right to slap them around and take a 25% vig of their medical bills.

Clown world is the real pimp playa:

Dr Shannon Dowler has made rap videos to raise awareness of the rising STI rates in seniors

Yes that’s true Gilas and the left use both (illegal) violence and intimidation as well as gaining control of the apparatus of government aka the rule of law. Voting your way out of the technocratic globalist hell hasn’t worked yet either- the Trumble putsch in 2015, the neutering of Brexit and the theft of the 2020 election are recent examples. The truth is the only language some people understand is a knuckle sandwich.

Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word, equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude.
