Minnesota Cities Received Millions in Federal Grants to Buy Electric Buses For Public Transit, But the Buses Failed in Subzero Temps, Had Charging Issues

The Proterra buses in Minnesota failed in subzero temps and struggled to drive up steep inclines.

The electric buses were supposed to have a 150-mile range but they only had a 75-mile range.

Ooops. Guess there weren’t many generations of Minnesotans around who could tell them what happens to batteries in deeply cold-soaked environment huh? Or maybe they asked the massive collection of Somalian refugees who settled there who surely encountered such things in the desert they came from.

Democrat Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm was heavily invested in Proterra and made millions from stock options.

Why am I not surprised?

It’s not a buyer’s market if you simply pay the asking,

It certainly is when prices have been sliding so much the last few years. Friends of ours in the Dept 64 are good friends with a RE agent there- the impression they have is that the majority of Poms with properties there want to sell and have reduced the offer dramatically. Now, many are reconciled to being stuck with the property and flogging them as gites and AirBnB’s. Apparently the French red tape, taxes and the medical insurances are the killers for them.

One Jewish dude went off on a rant about how Musk is a terrible anti-Semite.

JC, your mate must not have heard about Musk’s recent trip to Israel. Although he was originally expressing concern for “innocent” Pallies, he apparently did an “about-face” when confronted with the evidence of the shattered remains of the kibbutzim & the horrific photographs etc. He was reported to have left “visibly shaken”.

I still say the best way of dealing with the doubters is to somehow get them to look at the videos, photos & stories of the first attendees of the carnage.

Using (justified) outrage works in short-term, but its a tactic the Palestinians have used and continue to use. Seems to require increasing levels of outrage over time as people get de-sensitised or lose interest e.g. Ukraine.

Our power couple have stepped into a market bubble driven by British tree changers, who can swap a semi in Basingstoke for a cute cottage in Merdeville and enough change to live on for a few years.

Post Brexit it’s a buyers market as Poms pack up for home in the Old Dart. They are just another foreigner in France now. And as I said yesterday, French locals prefer modern builds, not the old barn conversions.

The Brits are still a slightly higher grade of foreigner in France – particularly those who own real estate. If you are a Brit you can enter visa-free to reside for 90 in 180 days – and property ownership is a near automatic qualification for a long-stay visa or a carte de sejour for multi-year stay. (Providing you have health insurance, can prove a modest income, and can tolerate bureaucracy that would make a Saint’s eyes bleed.)

The Frogues have just passed legislation through the Assemblée that actually makes long stay visa renewal automatic for British second home property owners.

The French certainly do prefer new builds and shun run down rural properties with rising damp, cracked plaster, shit plumbing, and leaky roofs. Hence Chateau ‘Iggins sells at bubble pricing – compared to what locals would pay, if at all.

For those interested in the case of Hong Kong businessman Jimmy Lai the blog Big Lychee has two posts up about his trial.

Not looking good for the brave man.

Even before 1997 he was speaking out which cost him a lot of money. At one point in 90’s his clothing business, Giordano, had shops everywhere in Hong Kong and many in China. He had to sell his share in the business as his political activities were impacting the business.

He then concentrated on his Apple newspaper business which attracted the attention of the authorities who eventually shut it down.

What if Sharaz becomes relentlessly self-improving, sets up an LLC in Belgium; buys the village Boulangerie and holidays in Rangoon? Did he invent the question mark? Will he find chesnuts; and if the ground they lay upon is devoid of truffles, are those chesnuts lazy? What if he’s converted to Zoroastrianism by a priest called Vilma?

Thse are good questions, Dot.

I think so, Winston.
Bruce suing for defamation as “rapist”.
Ch10-Wilkinson pleading “truth” as defence.
I think it’s patent that Toad-Ten have not proven that any intercourse took place*, (let alone “rape”), let alone demonstrated that they took any real steps to objectively satisfy themselves that it had. Even took extraordinary and dastardly measures, before during and after, to bury that doubt, so to speak, with their celebritney complainant soon proving she was an untrustworthy piece of work.
So I’d hope they’re not getting any sleep before Christmas.

Well – that did it, didn’t it? After months of trying to pretend that this was just a continuation of Israel/Palestinian struggle, Guterres has finally acknowledged the scale of the horror of 7 October after having been persuaded to see the worst of the evidence and footage:

Guterres this week watched the IDF’s 47-minute documentary of Hamas atrocities from October 7 in a private screening at UN headquarters, after considerable pressure from Israeli officials, Channel 12 reported on Tuesday. Guterres had not attended previous screenings organized by Israeli officials at the UN, citing scheduling difficulties.

The footage includes harrowing scenes of murder, torture and decapitation from the Hamas slaughter in southern Israel, including raw videos from the terrorists’ bodycams.

According to Israel’s Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan, Guterres said after watching the footage that the Hamas onslaught was “humanity at its worst.”

That is incorrect. Hamas released a mountain of footage on social media, some of it live, on telegram and other social media from day one.
It’s been removed from twitter etc but it’s still available on telegram.
It was wildly celebrated by far too many muslims.
International condemnation quickly changed the narrative to denial and claims the IDF was responsible for most of the death and destruction.
If you really need to see people being murdered by Hamas you won’t have to look far, it still gets posted by hamas apologists on twitter, or you can have a forage on telegram.
The problem is of course the Jews always lie narrative (unless independently verified by non Jews)
People demanding to see the rape videos are simply depraved monsters.

Most people have never heard of this.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_Information_Awareness

Based on the concept of predictive policing, TIA was meant to correlate detailed information about people in order to anticipate and prevent terrorist incidents before execution.[3] The program modeled specific information sets in the hunt for terrorists around the globe.[4] Admiral John Poindexter called it a “Manhattan Project for counter-terrorism”.[5] According to Senator Ron Wyden, TIA was the “biggest surveillance program in the history of the United States”.[6]

Congress defunded the Information Awareness Office in late 2003 after media reports criticized the government for attempting to establish “Total Information Awareness” over all citizens.[7][8][9]

Although the program was formally suspended, other government agencies later adopted some of its software with only superficial changes. TIA’s core architecture continued development under the code name “Basketball”. According to a 2012 New York Times article, TIA’s legacy was “quietly thriving” at the National Security Agency (NSA).[10]

Let me repeat that.

Quietly thriving at the NSA.

Israel put itself way behind the 8 ball when they refused to release the videos and still photos of the barabarities from day 1.
Because they failed to do so, the Gazans have successfully portrayed themselves as the victims, and the Israelis as the aggressors.

No, all of this stems from the Muslim/Arab/Progressive Jew hating playbook. The denials about what happened on 7 October 2023 are no different to Holocaust denial. If you want confirmation about how the far-right and far-left have merged, fused and blended, it is how the far-left and the not so far left are engaging in 7 October denials. It emanates from the same repulsive and very pit that Holocaust denial comes from.

As for the Gazan Nazis, along with Muslims across the Arab world, Holocaust denial is rampant (you can always find copies of the Protocols and Mein Kampf in Cairo, Beirut, Damascus, Ramallah, Gaza City to purchase and read, having said that, no doubt you find them for sale in Lakemba too) but they’re not even consistent with their Holocaust denial, many Muslims either state the Holocaust didn’t happen or they say that the Germans didn’t finish us off.

Nobody should want to see a picture of a woman being raped or a baby being put in an oven to confirm the truth of 7 October.

Plasmamortar
Plasmamortar
December 23, 2023 5:57 pm

It’s interesting to see how the view of most people here is that every Gazan killed is Hamas’ responsibility.

Many people are responsible for the death and destruction caused here.

Query: if I am ordered to fire upon people (civilian or military targets, doesn’t matter) am I no longer responsible, because I am “following orders”, or do I still bear some level of responsibility?

Am I responsible for the bombs falling from my plane? Or the bullets exiting the barrel of my gun as I press down upon the trigger?

Of course not… because I’m shooting at “bad guys” as defined by my government and/or commanding officer.

Second query: if I administer a lethal injection for a person sentenced to death, because I’m “just doing my job” am I a murderer?

I would love to know who is paying paparazzi like KCS Presse to snap them in their new house. David, perhaps as KCS Presse normally are snapping much higher profile people than those two.

Rockdoctor, the paparazzi economy is everywhere in the media — and the Daily Mail (which thinks gossip Down Under is worth a daily Australian edition) is one of its world capitals.

In fact, I think the DM holds some sort of global record for the daily volume of online clickbait.

Oh my goodness!

The house is ringing with laughter and happiness (and the occasional quack from a hungry three-month-old). Two families (SiL’s) are here for the night. Much reminiscing and exaggeration, aided and abetted by good cheer and strong drink.

Four doggies ATM, all having a ball. Two are leaving tomorrow, with three arriving with more family on Christmas day.

Contrasted with our normally quiet life, the noise and bustle is extraordinary.

Wonderful.

I see the charm of the limerick.

When Oi were a lad my folks had a shelf of a short story magazine, Argosy. Outstanding stories by well known writers; Paul Gallico and Ray Bradbury spring to mind!
And charming poetry and snippets pages were very witty; some were limericks. I remember a bit of this one:

SIPPING CIDER THROUGH A STRAW

The prettiest girl I ever saw
Was sipping cider through a straw.
I asked that girl, “How do you draw
That apple cider through a straw?”
She smiled at me and said that I
Might come up close and give a try.
And cheek to cheek and jaw to jaw,
We sipped that cider through a straw.
And all at once, that straw did slip,
I sipped some cider from her lip!

Another one:

Would you like to sin
With Elinor Glyn
On a Tiger skin?

Or would you prefer
To err with her
On some other fur?

In the Hitler shop.

Will UN Condemn Israel for Blowing Up ‘Hitler 2’? (22 Dec)

In Gaza, a clothing store called “Hitler 2” has mannequins posed outside holding knives and dressed in T-shirts with “Stab!” written across the chests.

Outside “Hitler 2”, whose owner declined to be interviewed, young Palestinians this week said they liked the shop and were eager to carry out attacks.

“The name of the shop is Hitler and I like him because he was the most anti-Jewish person,” said 20-year-old Hijaz Abu Shanab.

There are pictures of crematoriums, there are pictures and film of the camps when they were liberated by both the Allies and Russians. Both film and pictures show the skeletal survivors, they still unearth bones at Sobibor and Mauthausen, they still dig up bones in Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia where Jewish men, women and children were shot in pits and on and on it goes, and yet people still like to say it didn’t happen. The global Jewish population in 1939 was approximately 17 million. In 1945 the global Jewish population had been reduced to 11 million. The world Jewish population, even in 2023, has still not reached the level it reached in 1939. Now, why could that be? Perhaps it was because of a genocide?

Oh and I know three living survivors of Auschwitz, the only reason they survived was because when they arrived in Auschwitz, due to their age (they were respectively sixteen and seventeen at the time), unlike the younger and older members of their families they were not gassed on arrival, instead they were put to work in factories.

The population of Gaza has increased by one million in less than twenty years. So much for ‘genocide’.

If I pull the trigger on a rifle and kill someone, that is still a murder.
Just because I have permission and a waiver making it legal doesn’t make my taking of someone’s life any less significant for me, or the other person.

We tried people for war crimes and executed them because they killed people under orders.

Time to find some Christmas music that hasn’t been played a gazillion times on commercial radio.

Found!

There was a gay man from Khartoum
Who lured a trannie up to his room
They argued a lot
About who would do what
To where and with which and to whom

I put that one up on my Facebook page and got a rap over the knuckles.
“To find out who rules over you, look at who you are not allowed to laugh at.”
‘Love is love’ quickly developed teeth didn’t it?

Nobody from CBUS will give good answers. They obviously think it’s their money to play with, but we got it done this week.

Relative who is a plumber same. CBUS do treat it like it’s their own, he also had a SMSF that due to the union rules the worksite had to pay into CBUS not his SMSF but he waited till he left that site before transferring his money.

Funny thing too is dad had similar issues with whatever super the TWU ran 20 years ago now.

I suggest yew check out Stake Super.

“At least the Sydney Hobart race will go ahead, rain or shine.”

Maybe for not much longer.

Boofhead Bowen the moron is intent on building two massive floating windmill estates off the Illawarra and Newcastle/Port Stephens, 10-25k offshore, directly in the path of all shipping, commercial and recreational fishing and whale migration. And directly on the Sydney-Hobart race path.

Early days yet, but the man has no ear to consequences.

And it all points towards serious institutional corruption of the system that is supposed to exist to support Australia.

Yes. I also get it why people get sick of 24/7 ‘oggins.

Tim Wilson may have some insights into CBUS and their stranglehold grip.

We went to a small town – very, very small town – Christmas Carols last night. Part of our parish, it was great to see so many from our church driving the 40 KM to participate.

Such a simple, unsophisticated event, yet so enthusiastic and sincere in welcoming everyone who attended. Of course, Santa arrived in the fire truck with lights flashing and sirens blaring, and a gazillion excited children running behind. And a pop up Karen rabbitting something about OH&S, completely ignored.

Free sausage sizzle and gifts for all, most provided by the wonderful volunteers in our church. A wonderful evening.

Thanks for that re Stake Super, Dot.

I will pass it on to our son’s mate, I know there are quite a few of these lads in their late 30s/early 40s who are having a real thing about moving money out of CBUS, as they do not trust the union or the fund.

, thanks for this link
Ahmed Fouad Ali, interesting thread

This is a really interesting insight. But look what has been initiated –
The overhaul of prospects for Palestinians after the moribund Oslo.
A world wide genocidal uprising against Jews.
Transparency of the depraved antisemitism in western academia.

Part positive for Jewish interests, part negative. But nothing positive for the lives of Palestinians, except if anyone believes hatred of Jews in other countries improves the lives of Arabs in “Palestine”.

But it hasn’t placed on the agenda – at least not yet
Dissolution of UNWRA and retraction of annual anti-Israel resolutions.
Retraction of anti-Israel reports of “human rights” NGOs.

A personal opinion – this core rot would have been a target in a second term of Trump. His defunding of UNWRA was a small start.

However, it’s not about prurience, or washer person gossip. There is a massive set of legal/political/governance issues sitting behind the twaddle about how Brinny spends the loot.

And it all points towards serious institutional corruption of the system that is supposed to exist to support Australia”

Correct, and a leader of a main political party that happened to be in opposition at the time, along with senior members of that party weaponised a rape allegation for political and ideological reasons to bring down a sitting right of centre government. I think this warrants serious analysis. But here is what is worse, if that’s possible, and that is that the allegation in question has, over the course of the last three years, destroyed lives, ruined political careers, resulted in a failed criminal prosecution, and ended up with a new Labor government quickly and quietly paying hush money to the originator of this ‘allegation’, that money being over two million dollars of OUR MONEY. It was hush money for services rendered.

The bullshit that the Liberals had a “women problem” was confected from the beginning, orchestrated to permanently damage the Morrison government, and it worked a treat, primarily Morrison was inept. They fell for it hook, line and sinker.
