The gist of the story was they (Palestinians) sold to the Jews& moved to Jordan and then when Gaza/West bank was formed wanted their “ex” property back .. gratis

When I was in Israel I heard that this was a common occurrence. Yet few people know that these sales took place. All they are told is that Israelis “stole” their houses.

Remember opening some building or other and the curtains on the plaque go stuck? Made a crack about the ethnicity of the installers.

Keep the diesel pull start genny in good condition!

We’ve got a little petrol pull start genny. Just big enough to run most things (lights, fridges, freezer, wifi), but have to chose between water pump and air-con.

Gets a fair bit of use in the wet season as single radial powerline doesn’t like storms. Had a 7 hour grid outage on 21 Dec and another 3 hour outage last Friday. Passed the Powerwater guys on my way home from town driving along the line to find the fault.

Darcy’s to Liz in the 2005 movie version

The one in the rain by the folly or the second one in the field?

Even an old bat like me goes all a-flutter watching him stride purposefully across the frost-rimed paddock.

Gosh. I’m going to have to watch it again…to be sure, to be sure. Something might have changed. 😀

I see Gillian Triggs is opining in the newspapers.

Must be back home from Geneva on a WEB.

She’ a walking, talking Kuhnian paradigm.

Her old house was next door to us. It’s just been pulled down and replaced with a concrete box. All my memories of watching her from my kitchen window sitting on her verandah bitter-faced as she brewed over the day plotting how we couldn’t talk around our kitchen tables (mine being the closest one to her) are now excised, gone.

Haven’t given her a thought for ages, and happy to never do so again.

Underground car parks in big unit blocks will find the insurance prohibitive

I should not take joy in this – but I am human! A very, very Woke friend bought an apartment in an old unit bloke in the Lower North Shore. She is now facing very steep costs for said installation of charging points (which are opposed by some owners) – not to speak of insurance issues. Plus – being an old building the replacement of ageing timber windows……

But the piece de resistance…….she is a lawyer – and a very outspoken one…..and…….does not take advice herself……..

So many years since good ole’ canned baked beans on toast, and canned sp’getti on toast, and canned mushrooms on toast. My mother figured these easy prepared meals, getting home late from the family shop. Modern life in the ’50s.

Hubby’s standby when he gets home from a fishing trip at some ungodly hour of the morning is to nuke a couple of sausages with a tin of baked beans and melted cheeses on top.

If the numbers were decreasing, the having-it-each-way scaremongers would still be blaming “climate change.”

Yes, Lizzie, I agree – awful woman. I think it was at the height of the 18C debate that she gave a talk at the Sydney Institute & the debate moved to a Bill of Rights. I ventured that Australians would never accept a Bill of Rights which has so many unexpected flaws (I’m not sure they wouldn’t now) – & she was temporarily flummoxed. Didn’t last long.

Still a favourite here – Baked Beans on toast with a couple of poached eggs.

Old school alright.
For quite some time the servo at Duaringa had the dine-in menu on a blackboard hanging in the kitchen servery window.

The total of the menu was Five, sometimes Six, meal choices.
One of the menu items was: Baked beans on toast.
Another, totally separate meal choice was: Spaghetti on toast.

Even an old bat like me goes all a-flutter watching him stride purposefully across the frost-rimed paddock.

One can always appreciate a youthfully sensual scene, and the frosty field gets my vote too, even tho’ it is now firmly in the realms of memorialising times past.

Luzu and Cassie up thread were more realistically discussing the merits of Javier Milei as an object of passion for Kittehs of a certain age. Luzu went for looks (appearance) and Cassie went for brains (intellect/wit), but obviously it has to be both, producing that spark of physicality called chemistry. Can’t say Milei does it for me, though others do, as Hairy will occasionally remark when we are watching TV.

What I meant – somewhat clumsily Winston – was that fossil fuel generators will eventually get banned.

I have tried to keep on the good side of the AGW mob (Anthropophobic Gestapo Wankers) and have set up a fan which is powered by a minature windmill. That way when the wind blows it powers a fan that blows the air. Unfortunately if the air is still the fan is still.

But pointless self-defeating gestures are a small price to pay if it allows a theoretical great white shark to theoretically rut other theoretical sharks and produce theoretical offspring.

Amiright?

I think he is saying a gen set that runs on electricity – is powered by electricity instead of fossil fuel.

As for government having opinion – there is not a single aspect in the known universe that government doesn’t think is its business.

Even the Big Bang. The government is setting up an inquiry as to whether or not it was consensual.

If it wasn’t then there must needs be more laws and taxes.

That place would be hitting the ten million dollar range now, with the rebuild. A basic old farmhouse with some water views and pretensions to grandeur when Triggs unloaded it, it was sold for six million a year ago after a million dollar interior reno was done, only for the lot to be pulled down immediately on the second sale. That’s how land value sets the pace around here.

Charles’ vice is that he champions a retarded cause (AGW) that actually still has a lot of support in, at least, the upper echelons of society. It is sadly uncontroversial.

He is not pushing a novel outlandish theory. He is being perfectly ‘establishment’.

Now, from my point of view, if he were to immerse in the filthy cesspool of war my-ism his soul concern should be to ameliorate the costs and loss of freedoms all those harebrained government schemes are borne by ordinary Britons.

I know that the cost on Britons ought to be zero because it is rubbish science, but if you start from the premise it is real then that is what the King’s role becomes.

At some point though he is going to have to deal with the fact that AGW is nonsense and he squandered som of his royal prestige in the service to what will by then be a disgraced theory.

If he is lucky enough to have inherited some of his Mum’s smarts he will learn to shy away from big shiny baubles of political fads and stick to looking out for Britain’s interests.

Powering your own house in the inevitable renewable energy blackouts will not be considered a genuine reason. No doubt you will need “permission to acquire”, a waiting period and the size and type of the generator will be subject to government approval.

Yeah, the biggest threat to democratic systems are middle aged white leftwing sheilas.

As with the Teals here.

Universal suffrage was a terrible idea that the Anglo-sphere pushed it onto the rest of the world.

Resurfaced footage shows secretaries of states (who all happen to look the exact same) conspiring together about future elections.

Middle-aged, liberal white women are the biggest threat to democracy in America.

The Zoom call took place in October of 2021 and included Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, Connecticut Secretary of State Denise Merrill, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows.

The women specifically discussed the biggest threats to democracy.

Ironically, they themselves were the biggest threats to democracy.

Mainline Jewish organisations don’t want to upset interfath fellowship – fools.

Yes, but it is worse than that. In the USA, UK and here in Oz, mainstream Jewish organisations, like all other organisations, have been captured by leftist activists. You only have to look at the rot that is now the ADL. It’s sad, because once upon a time the ADL, just like the SPLC and the ACLU, actually stood for something and fought good battles. No more. The ADL is now run by Jonathan Greensplatt, once an Obama acolyte and operative.

As for here in Oz, I no longer buy the AJN (Australian Jewish News) because it’s morphed into a left-wing rag. Until 7 October 2023, our Australian mainstream organisations such as the Board of Deputies here in NSW, ECAJ (Executive Council of Australian Jewry) and other state based groups had, over recent years, completely forgotten the reasons why they exist, and that is to protect/promote Australian Jewish interests and the state of Israel. Instead, they thought their brief was to spruik SSM, trans rights, and da Voice and most of them morphed into leftwing and even far-left mouthpieces*. These organisations constantly fellated left-wing politicians and commentators, yet this fellating hasn’t worked well, has it? We’ve seen since 7 October just whose side the Albanese government is on, and it isn’t the side of Australia’s Jews. Anyway, this incessant spruiking of progressivism, of left-wing politicians and of left-wing ideology alienated a large chunk in the community, namely conservative Jews, and particularly religious Jews who really don’t want to be lectured about SSM and “trans rights”. In late 2017, when the NSW Board of Deputies and the Victorian Jewish Community Council decided to unilaterally support SSM without any consultation with its members or the community, there was an outcry and the AJA (Australian Jewish Association) was set up as an organisation for right-wing/conservative Jews and to promote Israel. The AJA has recorded great growth for many reasons, firstly it is a platform for conservative Jews, and secondly and perhaps more importantly, unlike the craven, supine mainstream Jewish organisations who have gone on for years about “far-right” threats, the AJA calls out the real threat to Australian Jewry and that is….

ISLAM

For years the NSW Board of Deputies, the JCCV and other mainstream Jewish organisations have refused to utter that five letter word, for fear of upsetting the apple cart that is the multi-culti brigade, for fear of upsetting left-wing politicians, for fear of upsetting the MSM, for fear of upsetting the human rights industry, for fear of being smeared “far-right” and “racist”……….until…

Perhaps I’m being unfair but I can’t help feeling that the inertia, the inaction, the outright craven capitulation of these mainstream organisations has contributed to this scenario where we now see convoys of Muslims driving through Jewish residential suburbs, intimidating and harassing Jews. Silence, and a refusal to speak the truth has empowered the Muslim community and left-wing radicals. There is no threat from Grampian Nazis, but there are major threats from people living in suburbs like Lakemba and so on. It is no different in the UK, the UK Board of Deputies is even more left-wing than here, they are paralysed by cowardice and fear. Over two years ago, in 2021, convoys of young Muslim men drove through predominantly Jewish suburbs in North London using loudspeakers to scream “f*ck Jewish mothers, rape Jewish daughters”.

THEY MEAN IT

And this is exactly what happened in Southern Israel on 7 October 2023.

We know appeasement never works. One good thing since 7 October 2023 is that some of these mainstream organisations have finally found some spine and they are beginning to talk about the elephant in the room. I suppose it is better late than never, but the NSW Board of Deputies has spent years cosying up to the Muslim community. That worked well…NOT! No Muslim community leader here in NSW has condemned the attacks of 7 October 2023. Not one, and the reason? Because they support the rape, mutilation, murder and kidnap of Jews.

* Limmud Oz is a community Jewish festival of ideas and culture, held in both Sydney and Melbourne. Years ago I would attend every year. They always had interesting speakers and discussions however I stopped attending because the stench of progressive/leftist PC wank was becoming rather noxious. It has gotten worse, it’s now a Jewish version of the Sydney/Adelaide/Canberra Writer’s festival. And when I use the word ‘noxious’, I mean it, in 2022 Limmud Oz Melbourne invited the following person to speak….

Lidia Thorpe

I kid you not. You’d think, you’d hope, that given Thorpe’s recent unapologetic support for the Hamas rapists, murderers, decapitators, slaughterers and kidnappers of Israeli men, women and children of 7 October 2023, the uber fashionable organisers of Limmud Oz might try and be a little bit more decent as to who they invite to next year’s festival. Because here’s a fact, the lines are now drawn and the Rubicon has now been crossed, there is no turning back now after 7 October, there is no room for Jew haters, fashionable or otherwise.

Any “blowback” will be carefully “cultivated” so that “something must be done”, and the population suitably subject to “attitude adjustment” and “right-sizing”.

Recent nonsense I heard was that we could also end up with a charge for using cash as the banks may begin charging.

Banks already charge for using cash. Just not all the time.

Thirty years ago NAB was charging up to 10% of the value of a cash deposit, as a ‘deposit fee’ for certain businesses to deposit cash into their bank account.
This proved .. ah … somewhat unpopular.

There is a small but significant sector of the cash economy which barters ($ = $) among itself rather than deposit/change cash at a bank.

The factors driving this are threefold:
1)To avoid bank fees for handling cash (not all are subject to fees, but they’re painful for those who have to pay)
2) Banks are not always open, or are too far away.
3) Banks often do not have sufficient cash on hand to meet a business’ change requirements.

Helen’s grim commentaries pushed me to ocercome my doubts and become serious about joining the local efforts to create a fodder bank system to help defend rural producers from current and future Morrissons hell bent in destroying rural Australia.

This district produces a lot of fodder, mostly for on-farm consumption, so the concept of each property, including the corporates, carrying additional fodder as a decentralised bank was doable in terms of capacity and cost.

Of course, the ‘paved with good intentions’ law applied. Seasons have been generally favourable and there has been virtually no demand for emergency support. With no demand, the reserve has to be dumped.

It is a true Catch 22 situation. To their credit however the local producers have agreed to continue with the program.

I guess it figures that the silliest Cafe Bruce bird story should occur on the last day of an extremely silly year. I was outside half an hour ago trying to get the northern magpies’ two kids more friendly and the cockies weren’t happy for being ignored. So one landed on my head. Okaay. I’m getting used to this. I reached up and handed him a bit of bread, whereupon he balanced on one leg on the summit so he could hold the bread in his other hand.

Then out of the blue a second cockie landed on my shoulder. Unfazed I handed her a bit of bread too. I have never had two wild cockies perch on me before, and certainly not both of them whilst balancing on one foot. I knew when the top cockie had finished his bit of bread because I felt his other set of claws on my scalp, so I gave him the last morsel of bread I had and he balanced again so he could eat it as well. I didn’t have my camera though.

This one is cheesy but nevertheless it’s a superb selfie-with-eagle:

The previous amyloid trials have failed except for one that was infamously approved by the FDA under dubious reasoning.

I’m back … . Petros, I read the study. They did almost the exact opposite of the studies you are thinking about. They used activated Tregs which are suppressor cells. That’s why I found it impressive because it prevents the microglia shifting into an amoeboid state and the imaging demonstrated that happened. They did their homework because the result reflects other animal studies where stripping the microglia out of the brain reduces amyloid loading. There is a great deal to unpack here and this is not the place for that. I might blog it at some point but I already have too many posts to compile.

When I heard about the infamous T cell activation study for Alz I knew that was going to be a disaster. Activated CD 8 cells in the CNS can cause huge damage. Of the 300 in the trial, 12 died.

3. Javier Milei dies in a mysterious commercial airline incident that involves aliens.

4. Trump is jailed for jaywalking during a televised rally and is imprisoned in the same cell they used for Jeffrey Epstein, the cctv has a missing period and well you can guess the rest.

5. President Biden chokes on a Hokies pokie icecream and suffers serious brain damage, he has trouble saying anything coherent but the dems press on anyway to the eternal frustration of Kamala, he’s re-elected with 95% of the vote in the most fair election ever.

6. Penny Wong decides to resign from the senate and run for a lower house seat where the incumbent died in an unfortunate accident at a climate protest. She wins the seat but is immediately forced to share a portfolio with Chris Bowen and her popularity suffers. She tries to team up with Tanya Pliberserk to roll Rub and Tug, but he arranges a tub of Hokie Pokie ice cream from Scranton for both of them.

7. Rugby Australia continues to snub pacific island players, they all go back to their respective countries or play rugby league, no one notices because union is stuffed.

It has been commented online and on Fox News that the Democrats constant mantra about saving democracy is similar to the Vietnam war crime where the excuse was that US soldiers had to destroy a village in order to save it.

As to most of these secretaries of state, no mystery really, they are affirmative action appointments, talent and ability had nothing to do with it. As such these women are very dangerous as they are full of themselves, not even aware of their stupidity.

Why are people burning mosques in Iran?
Because Islam is the source of problems Iranians are facing.

I cannot help but think that Joe Ali in Iran has more appetitie for secularism than our imports. Granted in Iran Ali’s secular world there are only Muslims (unless they are old enough to remember before the revolution), but he will have long gagged on the putrified taste of state Islamism.

I would think our self-imports came from lower strata and lower castes of the societies they fled, abhoring the hierarchy that was there. But now they are here they are not at the bottom – we have the cream of the septic tank – and they now feel they can occupy the upper ranks of a copy of the society they knew.

They did not flee Islamism. They fled their lowly standing in it.

There will be more fervour for the Umm-ahhh, or Ahmpit, or whatever they call Allah’s shithole dominion on Earth, among those who fled Islamist countries to fester in our suburbs than can be found among the people in the courtries they left.

And, seriously, is shaving so forking hard?

Four incidents in Tennant Creek overnight reported on by the NT News:

1) …a 61-year-old wheelchair-bound man allegedly being assaulted by a group who forced their way into his home at 2am Saturday.

Mr Edginton said the group smashed the sliding door and the man had to barricade himself in his bedroom while phoning 000.

2) In a separate incident, a 48-year-old was hospitalised after he was allegedly assaulted with a star picket in the early hours of the morning by a group of men who were checking the door lock of his home on Leichhardt Street.

3) … the assault of a 66-year-old man whose caravan was broken into by five males who then assaulted him with iron bars and robbed him, and

4) the violent invasion of a family’s home in Boag Court.

In that incident, four males including three youths and an adult forced entry to a residence by smashing a window and once inside a male occupant of the house was struck across the shoulder with a broomstick by the adult offender, who then demanded the resident hand over his car keys and wallet.

The three youths then attempted to enter a room where the man’s wife and children were hiding, but they were able to push back and keep the door closed.

The group then ransacked the premises before fleeing and stealing a 2007 Mitsubishi 380 with NT registration 989922.

This is in a town of 3,080 people with IIRR 44 police – the biggest concentration of police resources per capita in Oz.

I have received notification that on Sunday 4 February 2024 there will be a rally in Sydney against Jew hatred. It is being organised by Never Again, which comprises Christians of all denominations and Christian leaders who are partnering with Israelis and Jews to STOP JEW HATRED.

I invite ALL Sydney Cats and Kittens who care about the Jewish people and Israel to attend.

I hope to see thousands of Christians, Jews, agnostics, and atheists attend. In London last month, nearly 100,000 people walked to protest Jew hatred. Whilst I don’t expect that number here, I dream of 20,000 people.

I will provide further details closer to the time.

Trucks v Trains news (the Tele):

Two South Australian train drivers have died in a horror crash with a road train near the New South Wales border.

About 10.30am on Sunday, emergency responded to reports of the collision on the Barrier Hwy at Bindarrah, about 30km west of the border.

The impact caused the train to catch fire and several carriages to derail, blocking the entire highway.

This is flat as a tack country as far as the eye can see. There is also a pic of the train, or its remnants. Most of it is shipping containers stacked two high.

Impossible to miss, in other words.

The drivers — two Port Augusta men aged 48 and 57 — died, while the 75-year-old truck driver

The what?

from Queensland, was taken to Broken Hill Hospital with minor injuries.

I don’t necessarily want to wade into the ‘old people shouldn’t drive’ thing again – even though it’s relevant – but there is no way a 75 year old, regardless of how fit and active he thinks he is, should be in charge of a road train.

Up to 60 metres long and over 135 tonnes. No.

Been out. Forgot about NYE, we sent apologies weeks ago to friends re a dinner as we thought we might be down the coast, but Big Sis called off. We will watch fireworks from home, may not even bother to go with neighbours to the reserve this year as we are both tired from Christmas festivities. We only just managed to sneak in home via the roundabout on Old South Head Road at 6.10pm, which about six cops were just starting to seal off. All other roads in were already closed, with no attendant to let residents through. Happens every NYE. No point really in inviting people here if they can’t park. Streets are already parked out, and people wandering everywhere in groups carrying stashes of alcohol. Just checked our main gates were closed, don’t want revellers carousing in the garden falling down the stairs drunk. NYE and Boxing Day Syd to Hobart are two no-go days of the year here.

A few years back we were coming back from a NYE party after midnite and Hairy ran the barricades between the witches hats where one had fallen over and rolled a bit. There were no repercussions, guess no-one saw him.

Happy New Year to all Cats and Kittehs.

Thin Blue Line news (the Hun):

A cop accidentally shot herself in the leg at Chelsea police station.

The “unintentional discharge” of the senior constable’s firearm occurred just before 7am on Saturday.

This will almost certainly have happened when she loaded up prior to heading out, and she’s put a digit through the trigger guard while slotting el pistola into the holster.

I say this because I have heard tell of this exact scenario occurring on prior occasions – occasions plural, and all of them involving chickie cops.

No no they said, lowering standards has not resulted in inferior cops tasked to protect the weak.

Within ten years, Australia’s ‘official’ language will be an amalgam of the most politically-strong indig language groups, with a few token words from the runners-up thrown in as a result of the (very expensive and lengthy) taxpayer-funded Language Reparations Process.

English will still continue in use, of course, but the new, hybrid indig language will be a source of lotsa free munni via the ‘commitment’ of various authorities (and big corporate sucks) to utilise it as a primary communications tool. There’ll be massive ‘public education’ campaigns to familiarise the ordinary scum, and it will be a compulsory language in state schooling.

Crossie, I don’t believe this. The limitations here are not one of will but of capacity/ capability, etc. It’s not just war that is the pursuit of politics by other means, so to, is diplomacy.

Dover, I think it’s a matter of will and power. Diplomacy and politics are fine but you have to have the might behind it when persuasion doesn’t work. The current admin refuses to use its military and financial power but that doesn’t mean that another admin will not do so.

‘Deafening silence’ from government on Indigenous affairs: Sean Gordon

Exclusive

Anthony Albanese is facing calls from both sides of the voice debate to lay out his “plan B” for reconciliation early in the new year, with Liberals for Yes leader Sean Gordon accusing Labor of “deafening silence” on Indigenous policy since the referendum.

The comments follow Noel Pearson breaking his three-month silence at the Woodford Folk Festival on the weekend to say Indigenous affairs were in a worse state than before the October 14 vote.

One audience member at the Woodford event said Mr Pearson – a key figure in the Yes campaign – said the Prime Minister was “running away” from Indigenous affairs.

Mr Gordon, who supported the voice in an alliance with constitutional conservatives, said there were no clear solutions being posed by Labor to address inequalities between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.

“The silence has been deafening from the government on Indigenous affairs,” he told The Australian.

Mr Gordon said the Coalition had also failed to offer a viable alternative to a voice to parliament.

“The government nor the opposition have put forward a sensible solution to address the disparity challenges facing Indigenous people,” he said.

Indigenous Australians Minister Linda Burney said in October “the really important thing is the first few weeks of next year, to make sure that we’ve got a road map forward” and left the door open to rolling out local and regional voices using an existing model and without legislation.

Members of the Coalition have been pursuing their own “tangible solutions” to challenges facing Indigenous Australians, including calling for an audit of how millions in funding were being spent by Indigenous organisations.

Opposition spokeswoman for child protection and the prevention of family violence Kerrynne Liddle said it had become clear Labor never had “a plan B” for the Indigenous voice to parliament.

“We’ve got nothing from the Albanese government,” she said.

“My view is until we get to a position where we stop duplication of funding … and get simple audits, nothing will change.

“I cannot believe what I see and hear that doesn’t get addressed in terms of funding accountability. That’s where you are going to get the biggest outcomes.”

Mr Pearson’s comments on the voice defeat were made during a talk hosted by journalist Stan Grant, which also went to whether major political parties would continue to serve the advantaged, according to a summary of the event posted on LinkedIn by Danielle Ireland-Piper, academic director of the Australian National University’s National Security College.

“Noel shared his sense that the Australia we saw on 14 October was an Australia he knew, but not the Australia he hoped for,” Dr Ireland-Piper wrote in her post after attending the event.

“He’d hoped we could be immeasurably better and that the urging he gave Indigenous Australians to trust hadn’t ended in the heartbreak of rejection.

“Where to from here? Can conventional politics from the major parties even help or will both continue to simply serve the advantaged because it gets them re-elected? How do we use love and kindness in community to walk forward together?”

Ms Burney was not available when asked about Mr Pearson’s comments, while Woodford Festival organisers said there had been a glitch with the recording of the talk and that they would not provide any vision or audio without the permission of the speakers.

Mr Albanese last week said that he did not consider the failure of the voice in October a personal loss.

“Oh, no, no, no, no, very important to call that out. I am not Indigenous so it wasn’t a loss to me,” he said.

“That stays exactly the same the way it is. I do think that it was disappointing for First Nations people but they’re used to … hardship … but it’s one of the things about this debate, it was never about politicians, it was actually about the most disadvantaged people in our society.”

A number of Yes campaigners criticised Mr Albanese for claiming no sense of personal loss after championing the referendum, including in his election-night victory speech in May 2022.

Why can’t they just speak Australian like we all do?

Because we have the flattest vowels on the planet. Not a skill picked up by foreigners – for example, see the many woeful attempts by hollyweirdos to imitate Ozzie accents – and yes, streep you evil ol’ slag – I’m looking at you. Which is also why we can imitate accented English effortlessly.

If there’s one thing I remember about primary school it was barking out repeatedly, “A E I O U”. That and memorising times tables.

Quite frankly, I’m grateful for both of the above. Well done, you tasteless otherwise utterly useless hideously monstrous seventies tachers*.
