Just been catching up on the events of the day.
I did suggest the other day that, if indeed a Ten lawyer gave an unconditional tick to Cane Toad’s speech, then this could be career truncating stuff.
A possible saving grace might have been for Tisha Smithie* to throw herself on the mercy of the court and admit she was star-struck, young and naive and very, very sorry.
Instead she went the full suicide bomber.
She tried to match wits with Justice Lee and came up short.
…
* Never, ever engage a lawyer called “Tisha”.
As to Occ Health and Safety .. I once posted that… I did my best to make the blokes on my crew went home in the same shape as they showed up… Oh The Howls of outrage for weeks I was a derided as a Recalcitrant Union Shop Steward .. a destroyer of fair enterprise… a commie ..
Well you blokes have control over your own thoughts …
I tried my best to make the workplace safe for my blokes … I jolly well nearly killed one of them once by letting him ride on the running board of my tractor … he was dozing .. it was a hard slog and I should have made him walk … he fell off … the tractor had no brakes .. because of the mud and stuff… his eyes caught mine … panic !! and he rolled out of harm’s way .. the tyres missed crushing him ..
* Never, ever engage a lawyer called “Tisha”.
Words of wisdom Sancho.
It was the end of a hard day and he was exausted … Mt Merton in Tasmainia .. we both were … so what am I gonna do ? Make the bloke trudge ? Make the bloke stay alert enough to hold onto the hand rails ? Am I supposed to get inside his head?
But No one died that day .. a very close run thing however . Thank The Lord.
But this pissing and moaning about Occ Heath and Saftey … as if it is just some pointless sinecure…
courageous move … coming into a battle of wits unarmed.
None of that happened.
A noble endeavour.
Oh. Doesn’t sound that safe.
Oh my dear wordy lordy.
This tale belongs on the shelf, right next to ‘when I was journalism student at a university whose name I cannot spell’ and ‘Before I was in jail I worked with a crew of people and pilots who allllll told me they were in the SAS and I believed them’.
Not being an “at risk” industry, I’ve seen OH&S only once in my working life. They’re total wankers & it shows.
This retard turns up to the driveway & & watches the ladder to the mezzanine level where lotsa beer cartons are stored. He was offended to see the staff going up & down the ladder to bring down cartons of beer.
To solve this obvious OH&S issue, he issued a written directive that when “climbing a ladder” we must maintain a minimum of Four points of contact at all times.
It was near 15 seconds before he realised his error. However once a directive is written, they’re not really in a position to rescind it.
Then by your standards, Bruce, Hekmatullah is a hero.
Mark Bolton == Sandy Stone with a spelling defect.
“Well not much that I can say about Tuesday, except it was a very nice night’s entertainment. We’re not one for the pictures as a rule. When we go we like to see a good, bright show. After all, there’s enough unhappiness in the world…..”
Don’t verbal me Bushie.
Do you really think the plebs in Afghanistan are anything different from those in Gaza. They believe the same religion in the same way with the same intensity. Taqiyya is their coinage.
There are men, a very few heroes, who are prepared to stand between our civilization and barbarism. Yet the powers that be persecute them for doing their job. It seems to be a consistent phenomenon, arising from the Left. Well I have no truck with any of that BS.

RIP Barry Old Mate !
A genius… and an inspiration to us all.
Beheaded babies? How many? 40?
You’re not Robinson Crusoe. That’s how we ended up with PM Albo who’s been overlooked at every opportunity for every position his entire career.
Sandy Stone falls in love with Beryl
“I let my hand slide along the grass till my little finger was just touching Beryl’s and she didn’t move it and we stayed for why seems like donkey’s years till it got dark and I could feel me old ticker golf ninety to the dozen and I knew it was the real thing. Then Beryl jumped up laughing …. and I could still feel the burning of her little finger, and I looked and saw my hand was touching the blessed Thermos. I didn’t mess around much after that.”
In a risky industry .. let’s face it …all industries are risky …there are three points of contact.
I just so love it when i see a bloke using three points of contact even when operating in suburbia.
I give them one thumb because the rest of my appendages are doing the whole three points thing …
and I get a nod and a wink from a Brother who has likely worked in the Mining industry ..
BoN at 9:15.
You forgot to add a “You can’t handle the truth!” at the end of that.
The use of all those nails was especially revolting. And several other actions that I won’t soil this blog with descriptions of. It is pretty eyeopening what Muslims are prepared to do when they think they can get away with it.
Well, now they’re reaping what they sowed.
What risk? ffs.
Nope. I have it in writing from the head sherang of the OH&S office in town:
When climbing a ladder there must at all times be a minimum of Four points of contact.
When descending a ladder, there are no rules. 😏
Yeah, nah
A lot of these blokes would much rather fly under the radar. That came out in court and I have been told the same.
In fact given the integrity of the people concerned it was always a bs angle to attack them on.
I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it.
I would rather that you just said “thank you” and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand the post. Either way, I don’t give a DAMN what you think you’re entitled to!
Code Reds incoming!

With the greatest respect the “beaded babies” count whether 40 or 400 was a lie Israel told … they cant walk that back nor seem minded to do so..
Every participant in this conflict will “reap” .
Power back on in Bendigo. They must have stood the solar panels back up.
Empeas will guard the kernel.
AK-47? Check!
Spare mags? Check!
Grenades? Check!
Nails? Check!
Allahu Akbar! Let’s go!
Seems a minor point to be quibbling over given the scale of the attack. Lie or not the Israelis suffered an attack we can’t really comprehend in sunny sandy stone suburbia …
I was horrified by Hamas/Gaza’s depraved savagery of 7th of October, which they livestreamed whilst cackling with manic laughter.
I wanted Hamas smashed.
But when I learned that fewer than 40 babies had been beheaded, I couldn’t imagine how maligned Gazans must have felt at this libel that was designed to make them look bad, and I totally switched to being Gaza sympathetic.
Now I want Israel taught a big lesson.
BTW, did anyone else have “mouldy dildo” on their buzzword bingo card today?
No?
Well, pay me then!

If some one were to suggest four points of contact then that is clearly wrong .. it is possible if a wukka plans on never moving.
Have it out with who ever is giving you grief over such an impossible conjecture …but dont let that stand in your way of providing a safe work place for your people.
Bloke we deal with the Real.
I am sure you would make that happen anyway.
Anyone who says you can’t maintain four points of contact on a ladder obviously can’t maintain an erection at heights.

Here is an alternative …. dont be wooed one way or the next by any propaganda.
Bruce, I didn’t see any link. I would have clicked it if I did. I’d be much obliged if you could provide it again.
And if you have a link to the text of the speech you referenced (as opposed to media reporting on the speech), that would also be appreciated.
It’s pretty clear that Lee has used this affair to shine further light on Drumgold who he doesn’t appear to think worthy of his former title.
It’s about time McCallum unsealed all her stuff she has gagged.

Haven’t been following the BRS saga, too much noise.
The chances of ‘mouldy dildo’ appearing in any given thread are low, but never zero.
[Approx 9 min mark: The Failure of the International Committee of the Red Cross to Protect Israelis].
NOTE: This is 46 min in length, and I have not watched further than the statement above, which I will admit to not yet understanding.
Safe Work practitioners are far better off allowing their exhausted staff to hitch rides on tractors through mud, to the point where the machinery’s brakes fail and they fall off next to the tyres.
And then using that as a case study of how awesome they are at WHS.
Apparently, prior to 7 Oct, 2023 in Israel, there were two Israeli citizens [I don’t have any more details yet] who were held captive in Gaza for approximately 10 years?
Interesting thread on the conquest of Mecca and the breaking of the kaaba.

A lawsuit has been filed in the Jerusalem District Court against the International Red Cross by Shurat HaDin – Israeli Law Center.
Yep, mostly instigated and perpetuated by BRS and co. Read the books and court transcripts.
Lets flip this. Hekmatullah, in the eyes of his countrymen/comrades, was doing just that.
Except instead of killing unarmed and bound people who may or may not have been “Talibs”, Hekmatullah infiltrated enemy lines and killed known enemy who, if not directly carrying weapons, would’ve had them nearby, and then made good his escape.
I’m not verballing you, I’m pointing out a double standard.
They were not “doing their job”. That’s the point.
Yes, one an Arab Bedouin, one an Ethiopian Jew, both with mental health issues, who separately crossed the border in 2014 and 2015.
Says a lot about Gaza.
Using machinery such as 4 WD tractors on Mt Merton in Tasmania, we already knew the brakes were going to be ineffective. Going down hill in a mess of mud , a tractor was barely controllable ..blokes are tired .. already a hard day soil sampling.
Blokes are tired.
We both got home alive that day and , for that I am well pleased.
And for Folks that think such an out come might be a source of mirth .. Well good for You …
What are the odds of hamas terrorists finding a handy box of nails on a kibbutz in the several hours they were wandering around doing their thing, I’d say about zero chance too.
Nope, it is in writing, from a govt WH&S officer. He had some pretty stern words to accompany issue of the directive.
Immediately & in front of this pencil-neck, the shop manager climbed a ladder, using his chin to maintain 4 points of contact, then put a carton of beer on his shoulder & trotted back to ground level using only his feet to touch the ladder. – all as per the written directive & right in front of the pencil-neck, who was invited to state if any part of his directive had been breached.
Have it out? Crikey the wanker was transferred to another town, years ago.
Apart from having to chin ladders when ascending, in what manner would my workplace be unsafe?
You saw Barndoor Joyce, his back spread out on the footpath with a phone to his oversized ear, right?
He was calling in an apology.
Thanks, Rosie.
Did Lisa W write the Logies speech which Ten okayed?
If she did would this count in Lee’s findings?

In the Final Analysis only You can know if your work site is safe ..
It is safe.
Best cricket game was T20 World Cup Final 2016.
Poms only put on 150. Windies looked gorn at 3/10 etc. Gayle was out, but Marlon Samuels glued it with 85 not out.
Needing 19 runs off the last over, I remember Samuels revving up Carlos Brathwaite.
Ben Stokes bowled. Six, six, six, six. Get that up you. Funny as. A couple were 9 iron/pitching wedge type strokes off the toes. It was brilliant
On the contrary, my viewpoint is 100% in synch with Hamas’ messages.
I believe every bit of their real-time video uploads (& accompanying soundtrack, also live) of the 7th of October.
Not one bit of my opinion on Gaza/Hamas is due to any propaganda put out by the Zionist entity.
I believe Hamas.
The testimony was complete nonsense and relies on the Afghani witnesses being able to see through forests etc.
It’s all thatrum, sodomy and the lash….
Just watched Ferrari with Adam Driver in the hot seat. Great name, Adam Driver, as the main actor in a movie about racing cars.
The movie was made for American audiences as there were a lot of “feelings” being discussed between the Enzo man, the embittered wife, and the girlfriend. Enzo had a really peculiar business model. Every other carmaker was totally focused on selling cars to the public and racing a distant second, but not the Enzo man. He just made enough cars to sell in order to sustain the racing side. Racing drove the entire business.
Apart from being too American, it was actually a decent movie, as the racing and the crashes were spectacular. The thing that amazed me, though, was just how vulnerable the drivers were in those 50s and 60s cars. If the car tipped over, the driver would have invariably lost his head.
I’d give it 7 1/2 out of 10. I paid 25 bucks, but I’d recommend waiting a week or two for the piece to drop.
Relied upon…
Part of the Channel 9 nonsense was a witness who didn’t see anything but heard small arms fire aboard a helicopter taking off in a hostile region, to their stern or laterally to the helicopter.
Sounds like wishful thinking. People have been saying the days of the mullahs are numbered ever since Khamenei took over, and that was a very long time ago. Iran in its current iteration doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. In fact, it appears to be getting stronger.
Not saying I like it. Although it’s better to deal in reality than to fool yourself into believing that Zoroastrianism is making a massive yet massively discreet comeback.
Maad Driver. The Simulation is playing tricks.

dont NO take heed of Gubbermint wankers … in fact if you are busy bloke ..as I might suppose you are … the intervention from such as these is likely to draw your attenion away from looking after the actual well being of your staff…

Are you seriously suggesting that some pencil-neck with an IQ <100 and a ticket book, turning up at my place & telling me "I'm from the government and I'm here to help you" may actually distract me from my core duties?
But … but … gold braid on my sleeve!
Something would seem to be amiss with the design and/or construction of the Victorian transmission towers.
Fifty years ago power transmission lines used to be designed for the worst case of temperature, shorting current, wind loading etc. Presumably they still are , but maybe not given the event.
Unless there is a one in a hundred+ year event they should not fail. It seems that more than one tower failed so the design is faulty or the construction was not to spec.
I think you should. They are a dangerous person and agent of chaos.

Sassari archaeological museum.
Not huge but a decent collection especially of Nuraghe and Roman era artifices.
They also have some fossilised trees.
I think it’s possible to visit some nuaghic burial sites but I’m guessing it would be a view at a distance
Might be something at Porto Torres so shall go there tomorrow.
My landlord is a youngish tattooed man who spend a year in Sydney working as a kitchen hand in an Italian restaurant. He didn’t like Sydney, too expensive.
I assume he owns the building, perhaps he saved up his Sydney earnings.
Apartments around here start at €35,000 or was it €25,000. Whichever, very cheap.
Filetto di cavallo for lunch today.
Christ Dot, do you think this is my first day on the job? 😀
I’m in a state that is ruled (not governed, ruled) by a long term ALP unicameral parliament.
ALL they know how to do is appoint more & more “inspectors”
Try someday being on the business end of these arseholes.
Campbell Newman halted the rot overnight when he got in, however it has crept back up.
The biggest swept-under-the-rug issue, nationwide, is sure to be the mental health of non-firstnations males who own & run a mercantile-type business.
There is room for well intentioned people to discuss heart felt disagreements in such a way as to try to understand why others might find a different perspective .
What is unhelpful is where some prod and provoke .. because they think that they are funny.
They not funny, they’re arseholes. We’d be better off without them.

OK here is where I switch up tell me your Pub is in Vietnam and we are ready to rock .. 😉
Crikey.
Someone wants to lure a backpacker or two into the bus.
That will depend what the WH&S wankers decide when they weigh up the results of their inspection.
That won’t be your role.
Just so long as we understand the pacifier must be at a minimum the size of a baseball bat.
Where ya gonna park it? I’m in the middle of town. Street camping ain’t viewed favourably here, the council is quick to act on grey nomads who camp under the bridge & places like that.
You’ll have to pay a caravan park for a lot.
In my experience they don’t require much “luring”
i.e. once they realise one is leading them back to one’s humping den, the lasso rope you used goes loose & you can’t get it tight again.
Huh?
We aren’t “ready to rock” until a formal job offer has been made, & has been formally accepted.
Y’know, signatures on paper.
No job offer will be made until I see what these peckersniffers at WH&S want, most likely I’ll just tell them off, resoundingly, & then continue on as I was before – the two new Euro-honeys arrived this afternoon.
Mr. Mark Bolton: Are you in Australia?
Again .. in all seriousnessnes this snipy and foul mouthed ad hom has no place in what is supposed to be a place of civil discussion. Regardless and probably because our view points may differ.

Indeed .. Perth ..
Hmm, to reach me in Vietnam, from Perth, your truck is facing quite an obstacle with all that salt water.
You should be okay if you just drive along the beach until you get here.
The truck may require dual fatties at low psi, and you’ll need to fill up in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Phnomh Penh & Saigon.
So bring plenty of local dinero for each of those places.
You should be mindful that in Vietnam the Fair Work Act does not apply, nor does much other Australian law, & I’ll be allowed by the authorities, nay encouraged, to authorise whipping for poor work performance.
