Haha, the woke are now weeping into their vegan yoghurts about our faceplant at Eurovision.

Australia fails to advance into the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest final after stunning performance from Electric Fields (Sky News, 8 May)

Fans have been left shocked after the first semi-final results of the Eurovision Song Contests were announced, with Australia failing to advance to the final for just the second time. …

“So shocked that Australia didn’t qualify!??! What’s it about that performance people didn’t like?” a second person added.

“I can’t believe Australia isn’t headed to the finals!” a third remarked.

“First time I had Australia as my favourite. I teared up when they brought out an Indigenous dancer to play digeridoo. Really disappointed,” another fan wrote.

How on Earth could a continent which brought us Handel, Mozart and Beethoven not fully embrace the didge? It’s a mystery!

Silver pigs news.

Researchers discover three ingots made of Roman lead in Northern Córdoba (Phys.org, 7 May)

Three ingots from the site of Los Escoriales de Doña Rama (Belmez) and dating from the Roman era demonstrate the importance of lead production and exportation in northern Córdoba. Measuring some 45 centimeters long and weighing between 24 and 32 kilos, the ingots are triangular in shape, resembling a Toblerone bar. …

Analysis of the ingots’ chemical composition and stable isotopes allowed the research team to verify that they were desilvered, and that the ore with which they were made was from the district of Fuente Obejuna-Azuaga, a major mining area that included the Doña Rama site where the ingots were found.

Silver produced from lead ore was a big contributor to the wealth of Rome. Likewise Athens, whose discovery of a rich silver lode famously financed the ships that defeated Persia at Salamis.

The Silver Pigs is the first novel in an excellent series by Lindsey Davis, which is set in Rome at the same time as this story – 1stC AD. Although the silver/lead mine in that story was in Britain not Spain.

JC:“Look, it would be dangerous for Trump to go to jail,…”

You realise, of course, that Trump has a SS protective detail, and that under US law they (SS) are entitled to make ANY area a “federally protected area” and give themselves complete control over who enters that area when their protectee is, or is likely to be, there for any period of time?
If Trump was sent to jail or prison, then the SS may feel obliged to take control of an entire wing of said jail/prison, as well as control what food he gets etc etc. If anyone attempts to interfere with them, they may decide to evacuate their protectee to a safe location, and no-one, not even the current president, can gainsay them in this regard.
Remember that these are people who have been trained to, and taken an oath to, take a bullet for their protectee. They take their job very seriously, as well they should.
It would be a nightmare if NY decided put Trump in any jail/prison – for NY, not Trump.

Migrants are eating koalas

Now that I’ve got your attention:

NSW’s koalas face extinction within 26 years due to loss of habitat as new housing estates eat into eucalyptus forests with rates of clearing now 3 times what they were 8 years ago.

Perhaps NSW should have a plebiscite: Do you want migrants or koalas?

To be honest the Old testament appeals to me more and more, none of this mamby pamby, offer the other cheek. You hit me, I hit back ten times more, suits me fine.

Everyone’s a theologian.

The Old Testament’s lex talionis was actually a call to exercise restraint in retribution in contrast to the barbarism of the times. Rather than exacting ten times punishment, it limited punishment to fit the crime. Hence, “an eye for an eye.”

Yes I must admit that I find the New Testament prissy.

That’s because you’re not reading it in the literary, historical and religious contexts.

Most of Jesus’ sayings that modern people object to are not intended to be taken literally. They are hyperbolic statements deployed to attack the legalism and hypocrisy of the Pharisees and the scribes (the teachers of the Mosaic law).

I have no idea what the ecclesiastical explanation for that is. For me – it represents a somewhat mystical reference to the beginning of consciousness (at the highest level) in humankind.

It is reminiscent of Ecclesiastics 8:4

“All is held together by the Word”.

I am always reminded of the words of the German poet Rilke:

“You are here so that God may know himself in you”.

The NT is full of ‘hard’ sayings and only a determined propaganda campaign could make you think otherwise.

Alas, for many on the Protestant side, dover, the propaganda began in Sunday School with “gentle Jesus, meek and mild” (perhaps the RCC had a pietistic equivalent).

I defy anyone to actually read the Gospels and conclude that Jesus was a milksop.

You can understand the media going all in on the NY case today.

The Biden administration losing their appeal against the Federalist is pretty major, especially if they get to discovery.

The Trump docs case is major but for some reason isn’t getting the coverage it should.

The key piece of info below.

Charlie Kirk
@charliekirk11

This image was leaked to the media following the RAID of Mar a Lago, the first time such a dramatic action was taken against a former president. But it turns out those “classified” cover sheets were paper clipped on top of documents by the FBI.

But it gets worse.

In their haste to paint Trump as a criminal, the Special counsel now concedes that some “top secret” cover sheets do not even match the relevant document!

In other words they created a photo op, and it’s not even accurate. They lied. They leaked. They smeared. Just like with the Russia Hoax. Just like with the impeachment hoax. Just like with every other case against Trump. What an absolute dumpster fire.

Investigate Jack Smith!

Thanks for the reference BoN. I love Cordoba, not only for the astonishing La Mezquita which comprises worship of both Islam and Catholicism, but for the wonderful Roman bridge leading into the town.
Very near Cordoba was also the site of the battle of the Roman civil war in which Titus Labienus, Pompey’s commander & once the most senior of Julius Caesar’s Gallic War legates, was killed. Perhaps a turning point in the war.

I searched for the battle site. Decided it was in the flat land to the west of the town.

Talk about chutzpah, from The Oz…..

One of the country’s largest Muslim organisations has accused the Australian Jewish Association of “blatant incitement to violence”.

In a post to X on Tuesday, the Australian Jewish Association condemned the pro-Palestine encampment protests on Australian university campuses as “Nazi encampments”.

“We never condone anything illegal but with the Albanese Govt and university heads missing in action, nobody should be surprised if members of the public take matters into their own hands,” the post continued.

“Ordinary people are disgusted by the support for terrorism being expressed by the racist activists, occupying Australian universities.

“Because Labor is so weak on combating terror and fighting anti-Semitism, we may sadly see some of the violence that has occurred overseas.”

The Lebanese Muslim Association on Wednesday said it had referred the post to police.

“The LMA condemns any form of hate speech or incitement to violence, which has the potential to endanger lives and sow discord within communities,” a statement read.

“The dissemination of such inflammatory rhetoric not only violates the principles of tolerance and mutual respect within our society but also threatens the safety and wellbeing of individuals, particularly Muslim students on campuses across Australia.”

In a letter shared with The Australian, LMA president Hafez Alameddine told NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb of “the fear that is resonating among members of our community”.

He said the AJA’s statement was “inciting violence or promoting hostility towards members of the community legally protesting across university campuses”.

“Such rhetoric poses a direct threat to the safety and security of members of the Islamic and pro-Palestinian communities, particularly hijab wearing students travelling to and from campuses across Australia.

“The LMA is reporting this matter to the NSW police and given the potential implications and the heightened tensions within our community, urge you to ensure that this issue is thoroughly investigated, and appropriate action is taken.”

When contacted for a response, AJA chief executive Robert Gregory said “the Jewish community consistently condemns violence”.

“Sadly, groups like the Lebanese Muslim Association have been unable to unequivocally condemn Islamic terrorism against Jews,” he said.

“From Sydney to Perth, Australians are being attacked by radicalised Islamist youth.

“Australians don’t want to see this ugly hatred imported into our beautiful country.”

The good thing is that the AJA won’t back down.

What will be interesting is to see just how the NSWaffen act on this ‘complaint’. You see, and let me remind everyone of some recent history, so recent that it only occurred on Monday night 9 October 2023, this is the same NSWaffen that provided a personal escort to frothing, rabid Muslim and leftist Jew haters, all the way from Sydney Town Hall down to the Sydney Opera House, and at the Opera House this same police force stood back and did nothing when those frothing, rabid Muslim and leftist Jew haters engaged in some very blatant incitement to violence by screaming, shouting and screeching…..

F*ck the Jews

K*ll the Jews

Where’s the Jews

and yes

Gas the Jews

Hmm, and yet our police, despite seeing and despite hearing, did nothing when that blatant incitement to violence happened.

Oh and this is the same NSWaffen that provided a personal escort to frothing, rabid Muslim and leftist Jew haters to drive all the way from Western Sydney to Jewish suburbs in Eastern Sydney. As it drove through Jewish areas, that rabid Jew haters in that convoy screamed out insults and threats to Jews. I don’t recall our police ever laying charges for that ‘blatant incitement to violence’.

And I haven’t even got to the Muslim hate preachers across Western Sydney who every Friday exhort their faithful to…

Kill the Jews

I shall wait and see before I pass judgment. My opinion of our police forces is already low, I am not sure that it can fall any further.

In the meantime, ponder this, Australia in 2024 is now Dhimmi World.

One of the people I most greatly admire is now unable to read anymore – she is 96 – and has asked her family to come and choose from her library whatever they want.
Her room of aboriginal culture and aboriginal art books going back to the beginning, was off limits; that she cannot give up, and intends that it go to someone who can use it best.

I selected a shelf of classic Western Australian shipwreck and seafarer books. Her interest in these was originally due to the suspected interaction (or absorption) of mariners and shipwreck survivors with Aboriginal groups. I hope to offer them to friends (cough) in the marine field.

Also got some terrific looking historic Goldfields prospecting and mining books.
And a selection of unbelievable art books; I didn’t even KNOW that Margaret Preston did not only stunning floral and bush artworks, but also to my mind outstanding Aboriginal scenes.

Her other great speciality, arid Australian botany and landscape, especially eucs, is represented too.
I want to read these all onto my shelves.

Others discovered May Gibbs originals, little tiny folios – some inscribed to her or to her mother, and many other amazing volumes. A complete set of Mary Grant Bruce will be preserved in our own library.

I may be gone some time.

NO?
We pay for it, why let a section of the community, be it small at the moment but with a powerful voice, dominate or dictate how it should operate?”
My point it by abandoning that particular public school and taking their funding with them the principal might reconsider.
I seem to recall a certain Moreland College that succumbed after massive falls in enrolments because of the peaceful religion.
As a matter of principle of course secular schools shouldn’t have prayer rooms particularly when students are being radicalised and committing terror attacks.

It they are so fearful it might be an excellent idea to tell them to stop inciting violence in street protests most weekends and harassing Jews in our major universities. This is disgraceful behaviour which indicates just what sort of violent people arise in the name of Islam. Tell your people to cease and desist.

Put the blame where it deserves to lie – firmly at the feet of Muslim protesters. Lay off the marches and inciting Jew-hatred in your mosques and let things settle down.

Professor Turley on stormy the slut’s testimony (lol, vomit):

Turley said:

You know, the statement of the judge, that he’s surprised there isn’t a higher number of objections from the defence is baffling. The defence objected to putting her on the stand. They then objected to the scope of the questioning, and now the judge sounds like Claude Rains saying I’m shocked, shocked there’s a porn star in my courtroom. Well, you know, if you give a lot of scope to testimony, what did you expect? And the problem with what the judge has done here is that this is an entirely unnecessary witness. It is uncontested that there’s an NDA, whether what happened in their relationship, if there was one, is immaterial to how those payments were denoted by the Trump campaign.

He continued:

So the court had the opportunity repeatedly to say we are not going to take this courtroom through details of this relationship. If you want to establish a relationship occurred, do so. Establish the dates, it’s likely those facts could’ve been been stipulated to. So the prosecutors wanted to get salacious details out. This is a form of punishment. They are trying to use a witness for punitive purposes and in my view, political purposes, and this is what happens. It happened because the judge lost control of his courtroom.

Mr Formosa, my 4th grade teacher would start the after lunch session by sitting there packing his pipe, lighting and then smoking it.

In high school smoking in classrooms was verboten, but you still smoke in the playground and staffroom – the procedure for the staff room was knock, open the door, take 2 steps backwards, let the smoke out, ask for teacher close door, step right away and wait for teacher to come out.

And teachers smelling of beer after lunch !

Former Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk reveals first role since leaving 17-year politics career (Sky News, 8 May)

Annastacia Palaszczuk will join the advocacy group Smart Energy Council (SEC) as an international ambassador in her first role since exiting politics in December.

The former Queensland premier’s new gig comes after a 17-year stint in politics which included eight in the Sunshine State’s top job.

The new role was announced by the SEC on Wednesday with the ex-Labor politician expressing her deep admiration for the advocacy group.

“I have always had the greatest respect for the work of the Smart Energy Council. I admire their passion and commitment to building a smart energy future,” Ms Palaszczuk said.

And the problem with what the judge has done here is that this is an entirely unnecessary witness.

The Trump legal team made the mistake of calling into question Stormy’s credibility. That gave the prosecution the green light to put her on the stand.

All of the things Trump is complaining about are due to his lawyers being incompetent. And, of course, that he is guilty.

Shut up dickless. Calling into question the slut’s credibility is irrelevant to the probative view of her lies. Her testimony had no probative view because it had no relevance to the charges facing Trump: which is, as far as anyone can tell, whether the NDA payment was election or personal based (both are legal).

There should be NO books on overt sexuality available for little kids in school libraries.
Christou missed an opportunity. He should have asked Kenny if HE would let HIS kids look at/read books like that.
Books for very young children tend to be pictorial, rather than wordy. The books on same sex parenting tend to be quite graphic. Intentionally so.

As Mark Steyn has noted, the real story of the UK local elections is not the defections from the Tories but the defection of the Muslim vote from Labour to George Galloway’s Workers’ Party and Islamo-“Greens” & independents.

As I’ve recently written here, the ALP cannot count on the Muslim vote indefinitely and the more they openly court it the more they alienate other large blocs of ethnic Labor voters, namely Hindus & Christians of ME origin.

From what I read Tory voters declined to vote for the Tories and mostly stayed home watching cat videos or something. The Labour vote meanwhile went down, not up. So fed up righties aren’t switching sides, they are opting out entirely.

The general election is going to be bloody mayhem for the Conservative Party. The ordinary righties are completely jack of them.

Heathrow was the only time it seemed this may have consequences, as the entire security squad was clad in black drapes & were exuding both the physical & metaphysical atmosphere of a funeral parlour.

They may well have believed I was actually thanking them for their service.

I don’t know whether anyone here has watched Baby Reindeer on Netflix. I watched one episode, one episode too many. It was horrid. I watched it with my mother, who was horrified by it and since watching the one episode two Sundays ago, she constantly talks about this horrible programme called ‘Baby Elephant’. LOL.

Anyway, more seriously, Baby Elephant is a about stalker, and stalking is something that happens to both men and women. Okay, it isn’t common but when it does happen it’s frightening and horrendous.

Over the last year I have wondered what happened to Harry Miller. He suddenly went quiet, mute, it was odd. I’d see Harry regularly on GB News Youtube clips, or on Talk TV Youtube clips but I realised I hadn’t seen him on anything since the beginning of 2023, nothing. You might remember Harry Miller, he’s a former police officer from Humberside in Yorkshire, and he was investigated by UK Plod over a gender critical limerick he posted on Twitter.

A “cohesion officer” from Humberside Police telephoned Harry and told him that, while his tweets had not broken any laws, he should not to engage in political debate on Twitter “because some people don’t like it”. The officer cited 30 ‘potentially offensive tweets’, but the police have so far refused to identify the tweets they deem to be offensive.

Although no crime was committed, sharing the poem online was recorded as a hate incident.

Harry fought this nonsense in court and won a significant victory, but that hasn’t stopped the very politicised and very woke UK Plod from continuing to target normal people and recording such incidents. Never mind the knife crime that is rampant across UK cities and towns, never mind the endless Jew hating festivals every weekend in London, Manchester and other cities, never mind the out of control burglaries and so on, don’t you worry, the UK Plod, just like Dick Tracy, are onto it…….onto targeting people who post witty limericks on X for hate crimes!

Priorities, or lack thereof…..but we all know this, it’s what happens when once respected public institutions and organisations go woke, they shed their priorities and credibility and instead go after the trivial and thus become absurd and dystopian..

But stalking is not a trivial matter. I now know what happened to Harry Miller. Please read….

https://thecritic.co.uk/my-police-stalker/

Harry is a no nonsense northerner, northerners are a stubborn and dour lot. Harry tries to put a positive spin on his experience and his satlker. The Fremen are so very islamic, hard to take a sympathetic view of them either.

I tried the first sequel and couldn’t finish it. By contrast I’ve read the original maybe a dozen times. Remarkable novel. I’ve worn out two copies of the paperback.

The prequels too weren’t worth it, although I did get through the first of them.

I suppose it’s the problem of the Mona Lisa: anything you did before or afterwards is just meh.

(In 1965 the West didn’t know much about Islam, so Frank Herbert working and adapting from that whole mythos was new and exotic. It worked. He also pulled in the antipathy, so the Atreides vs the Harkonnen was like the Christians and the Muslims in Spanish history. El Cid and all that. Excellent material to mine for storylines.

Nowadays I think Dune doesn’t work as well, since we’ve had militant Islam up our gills. The movies though seem to’ve worked well.)

Man tells cop ‘your law doesn’t apply to me as an Aboriginal man’ after being pulled over

Daily Mail

In the interest of consistency this aboriginal man has it right. We are all forced to listen to welcome to country being intoned all over Australia indicating that it is not our country but belongs to those who are welcoming us to it. As it is this man’s country he need not take notice of the cop, a foreigner.

Our rulers had better decide who owns what and has what rights so we can act accordingly. Or they can scrap this whole farce and get back to all of us being Australians and therefore all of us having ownership rights over the whole.

Here’s montys lot again. Been a lot of it. Herald Sun:

An after school hours provider in Melbourne’s northeast is under investigation after young students were heard chanting a controversial pro-Palestinian phrase.

The Department of Education is conducting inquiries into a private out of school care program at Fitzroy Primary School, following the emergence of footage which captured the voices of young children shouting “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”.

The pro-Palestine slogan – which is becoming more common at protests and encampments across the state since the start of the Israel-Hamas war – suggests Palestinians should be free from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, which would wipe out Israel.

The incident occurred just before 5pm on Monday, with multiple students heard mimicking and responding to the chant.

Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-chief executive Peter Wertheim described the incident as “repulsive”, particularly because the phrase calls for “Israel to be obliterated”.

“It is hard to conceive of anything more repulsive and unnatural than the exploitation and conditioning of children of tender years so as to train them to call for the elimination of an entire nation or people,” he said.

“They are too young to understand what they are saying. They just parrot what they have been taught.”

Mr Wertheim said the indoctrination of young children to become a “cheer squad for mass murder” has been a feature of dictatorships, but is not something that’s happened in Australia.

Meanwhile, Online Hate Prevention Institute chief executive Andre Oboler was alarmed to hear children chant such a phrase.

“To hear young children chanting that slogan in the schoolyard is alarming,” he said.

“It highlights the normalisation of antisemitic and extremist rhetoric that has pervaded daily life, including family life, in some parts of the Australian community. It undermines Australian values and opens the door to radicalisation.”

A Department of Education spokesman said any protests organised by activists and community groups should not be held on or outside schools, “especially primary schools, where they can be frightening and distressing for young children and their parents”.

“We understand current events are deeply distressing to many members of the Victorian community, including the Jewish and Islamic communities,” he said.

“We thank our schools, principals and teachers for the support they are providing to all students at the very difficult time.”

It comes after Anthony Albanese said the “from the river to the sea” chant was a “violent statement” that had no place on Australian streets and opposed a two-state solution.

The Prime Minister’s comments came after Education Minister Jason Clare made an embarrassing fumble on Sunday, when asked whether the phrase was intimidatory or anti-Semitic.

“I’ve seen people say that those words mean the annihilation of Israel. I’ve seen people say that it means the opposite. I’ve seen people say that they’re slogans that Israeli political parties have used too,” he said.

Meanwhile, parents have condemned pro-Palestine protesters after they rallied outside a primary and secondary school where state Education Minister Ben Carroll visited in recent weeks.

Teachers and School Staff for Palestine held protests outside Meadows Primary School in Melbourne’s northern suburbs on April 24, and Footscray High School on May 2 to “peacefully protest” Mr Carroll’s visit.

“Palestine solidarity is welcome in our schools: Ben Carroll is not,” social media posts promoting the events said.

But parents have since hit back, with one dad commenting “feel free to march wherever you like but keep OUT of our schools”.

“Politics should be kept out of school … do what you were employed to do, if not get out and let kids be kids,” another parent said.

This is who monty is. A racist turd who loves nothing more than dead political opponents.

Worth repeating (from Quadrant)

there is another dimension to these calls for an intifada of which both the minister and the vice-chancellors are apparently unaware. This is the call to ‘globalize the Intifada’ by making the Israel-Gaza conflict the flashpoint (in true Trotskyite fashion) for the mobilisation of a global revolutionary movement, led by university students and their external handlers. The primary targets for subversion and insurrection (in accordance with current radical analyses) are ‘settler-colonialist’ societies like the US, Australia, and Israel.

I asked myself wtf are ME wars to do with Australia? Answer is above.

Anyway, more seriously, Baby Elephant is a about stalker, and stalking is something that happens to both men and women

There is a Netflix documentary “Lover, Stalker, Killer” which deals with a man as a victim of a stalker.
It has a twist which I won’t spoil.
In the very beginning the stalker complains to the cops and they turn up ready to arrest the guy. It is only when he shows them texts from the bunny boiler that they back off.
Sadly, in the current climate, I think this will become more common (jilted women complaining to Plod as revenge).

I missed Rabz’ radio show, but couldn’t let it go without posting one of the most magnificent love songs ever. Frankie Valli – Can’t Take My Eyes off You:

The movie about Frankie and his band is called Jersey Boys. It’s on SBS now and then.

They churned out some great songs, but the backstory was not good.
