Caaarrrton flogged by the Hawks – out of the finals.

Esserdon copping a flogging from a couple of media hacks for dominating in general play but kicking 1:9 in the last quarter and losing by a point.
A “capitulation” apparently.
Carlton … “Capitulation? Hold my beer!”

The alleged Aussie break dancer was so bad the judges gave her 0 0 0 in all three of her dance offs so Monty is running with ‘woman of self confidence’.
Is there not an unoriginal crappy social media narrative that you don’t scoop up off the ground and run with?

I swear.
When I saw the first few seconds of the dud break-dancer I thought it was a Chris Lilley piss-take.
Then came the dawning realisation that this was for reals and that taxpayer money had sent this embarrassment to Paris.
A bunch of worthy real athletes with solid performances missed selection because of tight quotas, so how did she slip through?
Chef de Mission Anna Meares was bleating that PopGun was the best we had.
Here’s the thing.
We don’t send heavyweight boxers if all we have is punch-drunk donut munchers.
If our middle distance runners are clocking five minute miles, they aren’t getting a plane ticket either.
One suspects PopGun has contacts within the AIS and AOC.

LOL.

Typical answer. Roger became involved in our conversation.

I think you’re confusing mind reading with Tourettes.

No, you responded that there’s nothing wrong with mind-reading responses.

Where have I argued they want to close down relations?

I never suggested you did. This sort of argumentation is dreadfully deceitful.

Still, the idea that the US would just give up those bases without penalising the Phillipines, same is true of Korea or Japan, is pure fantasy.

Nonsense. France has exited and reentered NATO and there was never any of these delusional penalties you’re dreaming up. You really make shit up as you go along.

Do you see them giving up their bases in Iraq even though the Parliament has told them to leave? Do you see them leaving Syria even though they were never invited? No, and, no. They are not going to just up and leave areas that enable them to project their power globally without resistance.

Actually I do see them leaving Iraq. And it’s just not the parliament who makes that decision, The Iraqi president would have to sign off. As for Syria, you once tried to peddle bullshit that the US was tied in with ISIS. Did you get that from Pravda? Syria has no functional government.

.

None of those countries dominates politics as the US does for the West so there would be no reason to.

Not for lack of trying.

I know, we might even be imprisoned for retweeting.

In the US, or have you moved on to the UK now. without warning? Just sad.Try retweeting something against Putin, XI, the Ayatollah or the North Korean Dwarf.

By the way, remember how you posted a vid of Putin and Jung un in the limo that Putin had given Un as a gift. You sounded giddy, referring to them as “buddies” having fun. Which of the two is taller do you think?

Notice some of the Australian MSM sites are getting all sniffy about the mirth and ridicule of the Ray-Gun’s lamentable routine.

These same people are quite happy to ridicule the Solomon Islands sprinter who is apparently the new Eric the Eel.

News.com.au have been particularly bad. Yet these same flogs have been happy to pour scorn for the last few years on Daniel Ricciardo the F1 driver when he doesn’t perform to their liking.

Scott Morrison to face grilling in Linda Reynolds’ case against Brittany HigginsStephen Rice
5 minutes ago

Former prime minister Scott Morrison is expected to face a grilling over his apology in parliament to Brittany Higgins and his public rebuke of Linda Reynolds when he gives evidence in Senator Reynolds’s defamation case this week.
Mr Morrison is also likely to be cross-examined by Ms Higgins’s counsel when he gives evidence in the case on Tuesday over allegations by Senator Reynolds’s then chief of staff Fiona Brown that he misled parliament over the scandal.
The case has ripped the bandaid off painful wounds on both sides of politics, with renewed focus on the role of Labor’s so-called “mean girls”, after Senator Reynolds broke down on the stand last week and saying she felt guilty for Labor “bullying to death” senator Kimberley Kitching.

She told the court she believed her decision to reveal to senators Penny Wong and Katy Gallagher that Kitching had warned her that Labor was aware of Ms Higgins’s alleged rape in parliament had triggered events that led to her death.
In the days that followed the rape allegations, Senator Reynolds was repeatedly questioned by Senator Wong, Senator Gallagher and senator Kristina Keneally over her knowledge of the case.
The role played by Senator Gallagher, now Finance Minister, will continue to be examined in the trial, with Ms Higgins’s counsel tendering text messages she claimed were between the pair in a bid to disprove Senator Reynolds’s allegations of conspiracy to push false claims of a cover-up.
Legal observers have expressed surprise that Senator Reynolds has called Mr Morrison to give evidence on her behalf.
She was admonished in parliament by Mr Morrison, who said it was unacceptable that she had not told him or his office about the alleged rape in her office.

Senator Reynolds told The Australian last year that Mr Morrison “expressed regret” to her, in private, the following day when she was escorted, in a state of collapse, from the Senate chamber into the Senate anteroom.

more of your money is always the answer.

Yep.
As I said upthread, questions will be asked.
But the question won’t be “Why are we sending duds to the ‘Lympics on our dime?”
It will be “Where’s the money so our duds can upgrade from atrociously bad to mediocre?”
And Luigi the Unbelievable will be all in.
Because he’s one of the cool kids.

Someone mentioned yesterday that Paul Keating’s view on Australia’s relationship with the US is entirely valid.
The question for me is whether, as a paid up shill for the Chunks, Keating mightn’t be putting just a tiny bit of mayo on it.
After all, it was Keating himself who said “In the great race of life always back Self Interest. At least you know it’s trying.”
Keating’s self interest is very tightly aligned with the CCP.

“When I saw the first few seconds of the dud break-dancer I thought it was a Chris Lilley piss-take”
I’ve seen the dance off where she won the right to represent Australia.
Let’s just say it was more traditional.
Also some claims that more talented Australian break dancers didn’t have the financial resources to fly around taking part in preliminary competitions.

It’s over folks. If this is true, get ready for President Kamaltoe

The Pennsylvania Department of State has announced that the results of the state’s upcoming election will not be known on election night.

In a social media post, the department ,“Pennsylvanians won’t always know the final results of all races on election night. Any changes in results that occur as countries continue to count ballots are not evidence that an election is ‘rigged.’” The post also included a link to a website dedicated to fact-checking claims about Pennsylvania’s election process.

No, Roger actually attempted to answer my question and gave a reply using that phrase.

You’re referring to that silly rhetorical question you asked. Be upfront and give the reasons you agree with the dickhead. It’s not as though asking “what’s wrong” is hiding your sympathy toward China because of the Russia connection.

Seeing the implications of an argument isn’t mind reading. Thinking that my position re China involves Putin lurking in the background isn’t mindreading either, but it is indicative of obsession.

It’s using the argument that mind reading is okay, or applying your redefinition.. “seeing the implications”.

So why reply in such a manner when I never said such a thing?

You’re confused now. I never said you did.

Sure sure. The US would give up its bases in Japan and the Phillipines without even a sour turn because France.

There’s a real historical example that I offered and the only reply you can offer is “sure, sure”. At least the US never invaded France when it walked out of NATO, unlike your pal invading Ukraine.

I’m glad you do see that. Re Syria, it’s a lock that the US supported ISIS early on.

No it didn’t . We’ve been through this and you conceded it was incorrect.

They called them the ‘moderate rebels’, have you forgotten? It still does have a functional government, but not for want of trying by the US.

LOL. Functional government. Trump destroyed ISIS across the region.

But seriously, instead of hiding behind rhetorical questions, just be upfront and give the reasons you support Keating’s paid for comments.

It is amazing how threatened you lot are by the sight of a woman with confidence.

One of our problems is that there are a great many stupid people who haven’t found out that they are stupid. Their teachers have kept it from them, and the company they keep hides their joint stupidity. If they had to build something its failing to work would tell them something, but they can produce bullshit and get a doctoral degree in it.

The problem with some women is that they have a confidence to which they are not entitled. Some men, too. If they realised how out of their intellectual depth they are, they might shut up. But they can’t, so they won’t.

Clive Palmer’s Titanic II remains a dream as shipyard rejects contract

The dream was to recreate the Titanic, with Turkish baths, smoking rooms and opulent dining halls.

When mining tycoon Clive Palmer revived his plans to build a replica of the ocean liner, he hired a room in the Sydney Opera House last March and screened a lavish video.

The film, with computer-generated animations of people in 1900s attire, explained the ship’s specifications, including a “lifeboat overview”.

Mr Palmer said: “It’s a lot more fun to do the Titanic than it is to sit at home and count my money.”

His Titanic ambition has ebbed and flowed for 15 years, but five months later the ship remains a dream.

Mr Palmer, 70, is not often denied. He has been dismissed, however, by Harland & Wolff in Belfast, the Titanic’s builder. He claims the shipyard, which faces insolvency, has rejected his offer of a bailout and contract to rebuild the ship. Mr Palmer said he was considering giving a $200m lifeline to Harland & Wolff and had proposed a $1bn deal to build Titanic II.

The shipyard has been pleading with the UK government to guarantee a £200m ($388m) loan to prevent it entering administration. Mr Palmer has acquired a 3 per cent stake in the company but it has refused to have a meeting with him to discuss the offer.

“They are clearly in dire straits,” the tycoon said. “As Harland & Wolff shares are currently suspended, I would have thought it would be in the interests of the shareholders that additional capital arrangements could be made to secure the company’s future.

“These actions should raise alarm bells. It appears to me that the company and its advisers are not acting in the best interests of shareholders. There should be a government inquiry.”

The shipyard, which last week increased its loan package by £19m to stave off corporate undertakers, is clearly a beggar but seems to regard itself as a chooser.

Titanic II was to have been an exact reproduction of the ill-fated vessel that sank on April 15, 1912, after hitting an iceberg on its maiden voyage.

The ABC appears to be falling back in love with the ALP despite the Makaratta betrayal:

The appointment of Housing and Homelessness Minister Clare O’Neil has sent a message to the homelessness sector that business as usual is over and that deeper intergenerational issues will be acknowledged and perhaps even tackled.

Oh right. The appointment of a minister who failed miserably and embarrassingly in her previous portfolio sends such a message. Got it.

This week, O’Neill spoke off the cuff at the launch of homelessness week and told the audience she got it and she wants to fix it. While acknowledging what she described as “enormous” work by her predecessor Julie Collins and the government, she sent an unambiguous message that spruiking the stuff that was already announced was not going to be the end of the matter for her.

Did a politician just make a promise to fix some problem? My goodness, this is remarkable! So bold! So innovative! What a paradigm shift! This is exactly the kind of out-of-the-box thinking we need to solve all of the issues and crises our nation faces. I say make Clare O’Niell the Minister of Everything and she can just promise to fix all of the problems – and, simple as that, problem(s) solved. It’s genius!

The rest of it is just the ABC cooing gently to the ALP that it can never stay mad at it for long. How sweet.
