So, where is the evidence of being a crook? Where is it? You Tosser. Where is it?
And This Poster does not like ‘ Junior Cretin’. So tell me why not..
Maybe because Junior Cretin puts money into the Blog.
That’s right Bushie and Israel have already announced they will not negotiate with them re Biden’s proposal. The Times of Israel is a reasonable source for info which I read a lot and I always take note of what Israeli TV journalist Caroline Glick has to say. Plus Melanie Phillips.
Indeed – hence why “although perhaps a little more than annoyance.”
At the most efficient freight rate, a VLCC carrying 2 million barrels currently charters at US$90k to $100k/day – so the extra journey time costs around US$1 million – or 50¢/bbl landed.
Considerably more for smaller carriers.
So, not nothing – but not like a million bbl/d taken out of the market.
Man, I’m seriously thinking of becoming Jewish! I have the Shemma on my front door, on my gold ring, I pray Jewish psalms everyday and even a kippah! ?”
No piggy allowed, no shellfish, no milk and meat, separate pots and utensils for meat and dairy. And the biggest thing, if you’re not circumcised, you will have to be circumcised as an adult male.
I have a friend, who now lives in Israel (he’s married to an Israeli girl). He converted over thirty years ago, he was the son of a Jew (who died when he was young) and he was brought up a Christian by his mother. Alas, he was not circumcised as a baby so when he decided to convert, after much study and living a Jewish life, he had to be circumcised in a hospital by a doctor and then…..wait for it…..when he went before the Beth Din (all men) for his final test he had to drop his pants for them to make sure that his foreskin was gonski!
LOL. Are ya sure you wanna convert?
I missed this from Terry McCrann. A fine evisceration from 10 days ago:
I have moved back to Gordon’s London Dry Gin and Schweppes tonic with a slice of lemon, the tipple I cut my teeth on countless years ago. Sick of boutique gins and feverish tonics and bits of cucumber.
It’s a tough old gin and I don’t mind it. This week, anyway.
All good Rog.
I’m extremely naive about many of the intricacies at play here that I’ve rattled off from a layman’s perspective. I am extremely ignorant in comparison of the points that Ratzinger made!!! (and unfortunately have to run as I’m the lead Cantor for a nativity play tonight!).
Stay cool Cats.
Oh, JC and JR. Get a room.
It wouldn’t be just a depression in the West alone. If major oil installations went up in a plume the entire world would be in a huge downturn. Ironically, the US wouldn’t be as badly off being energy independent. In a situation like that, US oil exports would be curtailed by the government in order to keep domestic prices down. We’re talking end of times stuff here and markets don’t believe that.
Lastly, Yemen would exist.
Finished it. All set now to grapple with making a chicken curry.
Have purchased a pak with the makings all raw and twiggy so it might even have a hint of authenticity.

There are a few people on this blog who massively promote themselves, constantly put themselves at the centre of everything, and never met a situation that they couldn’t insert themselves, intimately, into.
Sometimes I feel JC goes a bot over the top in his approach to them.
But there is nothing, nothing that JC could do or say which would make me feel sorry for you. You offer nothing, spamming the blog with grifting Armstrong refuse. The “jokes” you repost could be found easily on an archive of alt.jokes from the 1990.

The scary things you’re suggesting are eminently reasonable. There’s risk in the Middle East. However, there are factors you should also consider.
The things you’re suggesting could happen are also going through the minds of the oil market players and the market is a discounting mechanism.
At times , even in very adverse situations prices don’t head in the expected direction.
Who’s to say that the market shouldn’t be much lower if the Yemen situation was hanging over it as the current levels of supply could be swamping demand?
Hard to say. If a ship now makes 6 trips does that +10 days per trip mean it only can manage 5. What impact does that have on the economy?

Meanwhile, freight rates are expected to rise due to disruptions in Red Sea routes caused by multiple attacks from Yemen’s Iranian-backed Houthi movement in recent weeks. The threats to carriers around Egypt’s Suez Canal may pressure freight rates from Asia to Europe or to the United States East Coast as ships take alternative, longer routes,” said Bloomberg Intelligence senior analyst Lee Klaskow.

Do you really want to cast negative aspersions on blog management – that the aforementioned management allows ‘cash for comment’ while you continually push demonstrable lies from a convicted fraud who spent 11 years in the bin for fleecing the helpless?
As noted earlier upthread, your ‘jokes’ are 40 years old and easily available by watching any repeat of ‘On The Buses’, yet you put them up in the apparent belief that a) you thought of them, and b) nobody else has heard of them.

You’ll find that in just about every PS/Union interface.
There’s a steady flow of people between the Union and the government Industry – It was really obvious in WA a decade or so ago – in one remote hospital up north, the entire Regional Administration had, essentially, moved from head office of the different unions to take over the Area Health Board.

The cover-up defence joins half a dozen Ten employees under the bus. At least as far as Brown goes. And, as the Oz journo asks, if it didn’t involve Brown, who did it involve?
This is awkward.
Both Toad and Ten have insisted that the primary thrust of the program was about the cover up and “No HR department”.
Now that Toad and her lawyer have abandoned that, they haven’t got much. Toad isn’t running a truth defence (Ten is), so what does her defence now consist of? That there was significant public interest in a “he said, she said” allegation of rape between two half-pissed junior public servants which warranted half an hour in prime time?

ABC Melbourne has forfeited a recent recovery, dropping 1.4 points to a 6.6 per cent share of Melbourne’s radio market in the eighth and final GfK survey for 2023, while 3AW once again finished the year on top.
After a strong survey seven, which saw ABC Radio Melbourne breakfast host Sammy J jump to a 10.1 per cent share, his show experienced a similar drop with almost two percentage points wiped off, falling back to an 8.2 per cent share.

I’m not convinced by the explanations so far on the current oil price. It simply doesn’t reflect the sort of prudence you would expect.

JC, do you even know or try to find out what they are capable of or do you think calling them imbeciles is sufficient? Re the latter, how do you think the US will do that?
You are not obliged to be here.
@cohenite Oh so humble ? I am sure your PhD must have amounted to something ( I truly hope it did)

Perhaps, if you think the blog owner jumps over chairs to get to such a donation and accepts cash for comment, you could donate a similar sum, and by your repulsive, crooked limey logic, you too would receive the same treatment.

BOM deserves all the stick it gets with this one. I’ll link underneath an article put up Saturday evening with a so called senior meteorologist from the BOM carrying on about Jasper reforming (It was stalled over the cape) and fulminating about hey not out of the unusual December temperatures for Australia. What he should have been doing is telling people especially adjacent to the Barron R, Mossman R and probably every low area north of Cairns to get out when half a metre of rain has fallen on the Kuranda Range that has to drain somewhere.
The BOM has good forecasting ability, I’ve seen it with Mining Companies I’ve worked with who pay for it, we even had a qualified pilot at one project who had a log in to the aviation portal which was much better that what we plebs see. So why the need to push a barrow at a time when there’s a real threat at hand? Reduced crew for Christmas perhaps?

Just like I’ve never watched morning television, and just like I’ve never drunk a can of coke in my life, I have never watched The Project. I never will. But from reading websites and news items since the tawdry Hoggins story broke back in early 2021, my understanding is that the big, whopper nub/premise of the whole Higgins allegations aired by the Amphibian of Mosman was that there was some grand conspiracy and cover up by the dastardly Liberal government. So, reading this tonight filled me with some schadenfreude, it an exchange between Justice Michael Lee and Ms Sue Chrysanthou
“Can I proceed on the basis that no submission will be made Ms Brown was a knowing participant in a systemic cover-up of a rape?” he asked.
There was a pause as Ms Chrysanthou took stock of this question.
It was only last week that her client had sat in the same witness box and told the Federal Court she believed Brown, former chief of staff to then-minister Linda Reynolds was “getting instructions from the prime minister’s office” and it followed she and Reynolds were “knowing participants in a systemic cover-up”.
“You’d agree that it would be wicked conduct, being involved in the systemic cover-up of a rape allegation?” Lee had asked.
“Yeah, it was about keeping the details away from the media,” Wilkinson replied.
Those words may have flashed through Chrysanthou’s mind as she considered her response.
“Not for the purposes of these proceedings, your Honour,” she agreed after a long moment, there would be no submission that Brown was engaged in a systematic cover-up of the rape.
My understanding was that the so called cover up was the basis for the whole politically charged vendetta against Morrison and the Liberals, the bullshit that they had a women problem, the bullshit that they didn’t care about women being sexually assaulted and on and on it went. The campaign undermined and tarnished Morrison and his government right up until May 2022, mainly because Morrison was so utterly inept and spineless in dealing with this vicious ideological vendetta, all started by a grotesque and very dodgy Amphibian from Mosman. No wonder Labor were laughing, the only person who thought the whole thing was obscene was Kimberly Kitching, now dead, we know what the Labor coven of witches did to her.
From day one it was obvious to me that it was all a complete crock of shit. It’s now a grand canyon of shit.
I am finding surprising overlap with the terms used for my toe-jam catalogue.

I have seen such changes of Heart .. in the mining Industry … Unsufferable Union blokes that gave everyone no end of grief… .. they went back to “Blighty ” and came back changed Men … after they saw what that fanatic idiocy … and such destruction had wrought on where they came from …. after that they were more interested in looking after the blokes …. right well who they were and what mattered to Us … Hrd Lessons well learned but at least they did …
Really? Cass you have to at least try Coke Zero. Just once and they also come in a small can now.
And an ultimate F U being the wearing of white at the airport.
I detest the wearing of white as it has been happening in Parliament and other places, and every time she wears white I email Peta Credlin about it.
I have had the most wonderful day, starting with Best Man informing me that Christmas Day weather prediction is 19 C max; perfect for serious feasting. Then I came out to my desk to find it covered in ribbons, with a beautifully wrapped birthday present. Chanel #5. My favourite.
Then phone calls, messages, cards and more presents. And strict instructions that I’m not allowed in the ‘Great Hall’ until 5.00 PM, where we found drinkies with Granddaughter #1’s special charcuterie board and many bottles of fizz.
Dinner was superb, I seem to recall. Things were a tad foggy by then. Dessert floats through my memory as a fluffy, fabulous blend of pavlova and new season’s berries. But, TBH, we only came for the entertainment. (Ha ha.)
Unreal! What an incredibly talented bunch I have generated. We eventually left with ‘Piano Man’ ringing in our ears, along with so many expressions of love that I am truly humbled.
They’re onto Blues Brothers now. This could take some time.
Well-scraped toes and on life goes, Mother.
Trump wouldn’t hit the Houthi’s directly, but he would put the Iranians in a full court press economically and/or slice and dice a Republican Guard commander to achieve the same outcomes.
I can certainly believe Brittnah attempting to swallow something other than Roses chocolates that caused her to spew and BL to flee. Yuk.
Has anyone seen my pussy? Captain Peacock?
Delta A,
Congrats and Best Wishes.
You are truly blest.
I would have said testpattern (!) but the taste in music is unsurprisingly avian.
Bruce, Britt and Molly.
I’ve said my piece.
But what are they going to do that hasn’t been tried and failed in the last 10 years?
As mentioned earlier by Dr Faustus: “two plumpies off to get ruthlessly wood ducked”. The consensus being that the locals will make a not insubstantial meal of them both.
I know, P, and I thank God every day.
Thanks for you kind wishes. Another birthday, another year older.
Who cares? 🙂
They got caught out once but probably now have so many SAM installations that a paper plane couldn’t get through. Patriot networks are very effective.
As an old army friend of mine said: you can’t win a war from the air alone. Saudi Arabia has some of the best US ground attack aircraft and munitions but still can’t get the job done. Short of an invasion, no-one will.
Descartes was horrified to learn that people exist who don’t think.
Rode a tram this morning down Victoria St, Richmond. I remember it in the 90s as a street of thriving Vietnamese restaurants and other businesses. Now, you pass shopfront after shopfront shuttered or blank windowed with just bare walls and scraps of broken shopfittings gathering dust. Lurid graffiti everywhere, thick and heavy, all over the roll down shutters and the roof frontages. A good 65% of the street in the stretch where it was busiest once is like this now. It’s ugly and hard.

“Who cares? ?”
Well I for one ….
Even If you cannot see that Christ is Our redeemer ? Would it not be a worthwhile exploration to consider what a “Redeemer ” might look like if one might possibly exist … ?
Even If there is no such thing …
Perhaps the mere consideration of what One might look like, makes for Hope … ?

He spent a few days in an oven to come up with his one liner, after all that he got it the wrong way round.
Went to a restaurant in Chadstone shopping centre after work today. Plenty of car parks available. I was v surprised. I expected it to be full in the run up to Christmas. Is something going on ? Or is it the calm before the shopping rush? Hmmm…

Purely hypothetical question…
You are located in an inner city Melbourne area which is redistributing its Council wards.
For historical reasons, because of that redistribution, it turns out that you are actually now in a position to run – and win – for Councillor next year. You can pretty much lock in 20% of the vote in a FPP election before you even start.
You would be consigning yourself to four years of toil amongst the stupid and leftist (BIRM).
You would probably do no good, except at the margins, because this is a leftist Council, and always will be I reckon. Currently, the Socialist Left provide the main source of common sense. No, truly.
Do you (a) ask someone to knock some sense into you or (b) buy popcorn, Dan Murphy’s shares and do something incredibly stupid?

What more can the US do to Iran economically beyond the current boycott? What would killing another IRGC commander achieve? Probably escalatory strikes on US bases in Syria and Iraq. So what do you do after that? Attack Iranian assets in Iran. What’s their next move?
Britnah decamping to the land of foie gras, camembert, beignets and potatoes fried in duck fat.

The answer is (d). Infiltrate, and try to out-extreme the extremists*, using the experience to write a ‘strictly fictional’ book afterwards.
* I mean that literally. e.g. Advocate that 100% ruinables is not enough. Everyone wants 100%, but does that show commitment? NO! etc. etc. Push the absurdity envelope (within legal bounds, of course).
Deep fried camembert.
The Albanese government’s decision not to send a naval ship to the Red Sea is a devastating indictment of our military incompetence and perhaps a turning point in modern Australian history.
Not for decades have we been so radically unprepared militarily, and incapable, as we are now.
There is one overriding reason we can’t send a ship. None of the 10 operational surface fleet vessels we allegedly have available (seven Anzac frigates currently operational and three air warfare destroyers) has any counter-drone defence capabilities.
The Houthi rebels in Yemen are firing drones at ships. We could shoot these drones down with our fabulously expensive anti-ship missiles, each of them vastly more expensive than drones, but very soon, say in a day and a half, an Anzac frigate would run out of such missiles and have to sail all the way back to Australia to replenish. The Houthis have armed drones. The Australian Defence Force does not have in its entire order of battle one single armed drone.

Iran have been getting ready for this since forever… Not playing for sides here … despite the full “hhoopla” Project Ukraine wound up being the utter disaster we all knew it would be … Here is a thought ?
How’s about we dont do it .. ? The West can wait them out …
Peace ?
Muddy, I had not considered the publishing options thereafter, I have to admit!
It is a gift horse.
Try sling-shots. I believe the Israelis might have some used manuals lying about and could even offer training at discounted rate.
Soleimani, BTW, was the key figure in defeating Al Nusra/ ISIL in Syria and Iraq. Absolutely dumb move offing him. It won’t be forgotten either.
@ Dover Beach
The way things are shaping up youngsters are all “Pro Palli” and as we get older things will get stickier … If we Go Now ..we meet the same snare .. The Isrealis have already lied to gain the Informtaional Battle Space .. and are demonstrably failing .. just like Ukraine …these conflicts wont be lost or won by the good graces of CNN ..
This conflict will continue to be a generational Gordian Knot …
Fair enough.

Soleimani, BTW, was the key figure in defeating Al Nusra/ ISIL in Syria
Which allowed Russia to come in; which was its purpose not protecting the West against the ISIS vermin.
But what are they going to do that hasn’t been tried and failed in the last 10 years?
Trump neutered iran, china, russia and the mutant in NK.
Dover – I don’t think Iran is as sanctioned as we may imagine, certainly post Trump. The euros were actively sidestepping them anyway and under Biden any sanctions have tended to be against specific individuals and groups.
Not suggesting any action is consequence free, just making the point that Trump demonstrated a preference towards targeting the root cause economically rather than the puppet in isolation militarily.
Which would achieve nothing, absolutely nothing. The Iranians are already moving their economy to align with Russia and China and there is little Trump could do to harm them further without blowing up the massively indebted USA economy.
Here is a different strategy, try doing the opposite. Trump could fly to Tehran and offer them a deal based on market access, democratic opening and removal of IRGC from Lebanon and Yemen plus extra benefits for nuclear inspections. Offering a good enough deal would split the government in Iran(plsu IRGC) vs the people and make the end of the Mullahs come much faster.
Trump is mad enough to do this and it might be the move that changes the game in ME. Saudis would be opposed ofc, but who cares.
Nihilistic Aliens
I have a sudden hankering for Doritos.
@Dover Beach …
I thank you Good Sir a well considered evaluation of this situation .. I thank you for not being sucked into simplistic or belligerent option … It sure isnt Easy Brother !!
Good flogging. Well deserved.
Steve Inman:
And the mullahs would jump at this?
Oops, link
One Man vs Antifa
Probably not, its the very last thing they would want to see. USA as the eternal enemy is the only political game they can use to stay in power.
It might be done with meetings in Dubai or Qatar followed by a trip to Tehran where Trump would be welcomed by millions.
Alamak.
The Hiden administration has been doing lots to calm down the Mullahs. It’s got them nowhere.
ISIS was never about ‘the West’. ISIS was largely a tool to be used against Hezbollah, Syria/Assad, the new regime in Iraq, and Iran. Russia was already tied to the Syrian regime before that. They have an important military near Latakia. They were never going to let anything happen in Syria that would lose them that base.
They don’t look like neutered at the moment.
Arm the opposition, which should’ve been done a long time ago.

Alamak.
If they wanted democracy, nothing to stop them.
Equally, since they don’t want it, it takes some tremendous persuasion or more likely force to remove them.
Unlike Iraq, the Persians now would welcome democracy, probably even the return the son of the late Shah.
That revolution led by Khomeini was fomented from the west and the youth got carried away, they have learned their lesson now.
The problem for Trump in this scenario is no one would trust the US. Reputation is in the shitter, diplomatically. Also, as you said in paragraph above, they see their future in Eurasia, whether its in BRICS, or some other forum. The regime will see no positive in aligning with the West if it also means having to be smothered with the secular liberal values.
So you want another Syria/ Iraq situation emerging in Iran with an guest appearance by ISIS. Let me tell you now, only an idiot in Iran would want this scenario to play out.
@dover0beach
You so have a grip on all this … I am sure it brings you no Joy . nor me … none to be had it seems? but thank you for helping me at least understand the situation .. Bless You Good Sir ..
I’m talking a grand bargain, something yuge that the Iranian people would want more than their current govt. Decades of sanctions and threats have not done anything to change the game.
That would simply lead to a crackdown and lots of dead people while the Mullahs would just say “see what USA made us do?”
There seem to be several. Which one is the “banger” ?
True on USA and trust. But the change would/should be targeted at the people and not the leaders. Most Iranians would like to be a normal country with liberal democracy given the chance.
RIP UN.
Sure, the Iranian population who despise the mullahs would welcome Sunni extremists no less with open arms.
Why?
Dover, in what parallel universe where Iran is largely Shia Muslim would welcome anything like something resembling ISIS? It’s not even the one next to ours.
New OT up.
“Earth tilt and orbit are non-linear.”
No, they ARE linear.
Non-linear means there is a discontinuity.
An example might be the brakes on your car – under everyday driving, these are “linear” in that the more pressure you apply, the quicker the car will stop. However, if you exceed the available grip of the tyres to the road surface, the wheels will lock up (stop turning), in which case using less brake pressure will in fact allow the wheels to start turning again, which will reduce stopping distance compared to locked wheels.
Regardless, multi-variate linear systems can easily be chaotic – an example would be a “double pendulum”, see such animations as:
https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?&q=double+pendulum&&mid=2E67F29A9351F78F05572E67F29A9351F78F0557&&FORM=VRDGAR
Climate is chaotic for the same reason – the “tilt” of the earth changes as well as precesses (summer solstice happens at different place in orbit as the north pole “wobbles” around), solar output changes, and tides change over several lunar cycles.
There are also other forces at work as well, some secondary to the above, and some we may not even know about as yet.
Plus, of course, human changes – not just to atmospheric chemical composition (aerosols, CO2 etc), but also land use and land cover changes.
Although each can be considered “linear”, as per the above “double pendulum”, the combined affects is chaotic.

Your comment that Islam is the biggest coloniser in the world.
How does that compare to communism. Russia, Eastern Europe, China, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma, loas,South America , Africa.

I am glad you posted Terrys article. Looking back at December, this is the slowest December I have experienced. Slower than December 2016.
It is surprising we have survived so long since 2008 especially with energy, employment laws and the public service creep – now wave of public service effect on private industry.
The effect of idiot labor decisions Palachook , Andrews, Wheatherall, which are billions of dollars wasted I could never understand why we have not crashed before.

I forgot to mention NDIS.
Seriously as a male who would do any of these tasks.
All the male jobs are disappearing, mining, energy, agriculture, construction, manufacturing.
I have allways been told I am a fish out of water in my job, but wow the size and strength of males doing caring NDIS jobs never surprises me.
And the ndis organisers to find people for caring jobs is stunning.
