A Secret Weapon in Poland?

Joe’s in Poland. A secret weapon? Did he say that any use of chemical weapons would “trigger a response in kind?” Has America stockpiles of chemical weapons at the ready? Deny it if you like, but the words of the US Commander-in-Chief count for something. Don’t they?

Did he actually say to American troops in Poland that “when you’re there you’re going to see women, young people standing in the middle, in the front of a damn tank saying, I’m not leaving.” As for this second statement, halting delivery though it was, I’ve seen it first-hand on video which, presumably, wasn’t doctored.

There it is, his minders can scramble all they like, the leader of the free world, under no duress, has announced the imminent presence of American fighting troops in Ukraine. Effectively, he’s just announced the start of WWIII.

Imagine what this does to Putin’s mind. Sows complete confusion, that’s what. Putin and his generals and cronies will be all at sea; won’t be able to make head nor tails of it. Keeps them off balance. A cunning ploy perhaps?

Is it a pure product of Biden’s dementia? An invention based on nothing. Or, is there a core of truth being revealed inadvertently as a result of dementia. Who knows? They won’t know. And, though it might be hard for us English speakers to realise, it will be all translated into Russian.

Chemical weapons, NATO troops crossing into Ukraine. I don’t know how that comes across in Russian but it comes across pretty threateningly in English, without the quirks of translation.

I worry about false-flag operations. Yes, I know, only the lying Ruskies get up to that kind of thing. Still, Zelensky seems desperate to widen the conflict. Food for thought, if reports of chemical attacks arise. Think Douma, Syria and was even Trump fooled? I don’t know, but stranger things have happened.

Can’t help but think that the buffoons leading the West are quite capable of leading us to war; with plenty in the media cheering them on. Boris Johnson might only be suffering from climate hysteria rather than dementia but who would want him leading any nation on the brink of war?

His latest gambit is to try to uniquely devalue Russia’s holdings of gold. Good luck with that one. Gold is gold and unlike the currencies which governments consistently devalue, it will always have a ready market. It’s rather like banning Abramovich from owning Chelsea football club. Equally pointless.

Thank God for the Israelis. They know about real life in a tough neighbourhood and might be able to broker a peace, if given the opportunity. I don’t rate any of our guys.

Hang on, I thought Trump was going to start WWIII, but Biden would bring peace and stability to the world?

I couldn’t imagine Trump getting away with Biden’s bombastic, warmongering rhetoric.

Effectively, he’s just announced the start of WWIII.

Er…no.

If American troops were going into Ukraine and expected to have an impact, not to mention start WWIII, they’d need many more than the roughly 10 000 currently in Poland.

Joe may think he’s sending them there, but that’s an entirely different matter.

Besides which, feisty Ukrainian resistance appears to have led to the Russians revising down their territorial ambitions. Even US hawks will be welcoming that development.

Mercifully, I think any serious NATO response is going to be in the hands of Boris, Emmanuel and whatever forgettable Kraut has taken over from Angela. Not that any of them are competent or intelligent, but all are better than dementia Joe.

I can’t in the world why the Americans let Joe loose in Poland. In the independent retirement apartments I live in there are a number here like Joe in various stages of cognitive impairment . Even in early stages they can’t remember anything after 15 minutes but can be quite lucid also. I was talking with fellow last night who was well aware of this told me he could remember his school days but short term memory gone.
I think my favourite is the PHD lady ex teacher whom I have known for years failing fast who repeatedly asks if I am married to Christian Porter.

“feisty Ukrainian resistance” smells like, romantic media bullshytte

somewhat like the Palestinian versus Israel event reporting, always heavily slanted one way with all manner of pretence and often little substance

that’s how this might end up, if the europeans and USA continue to smuggle armaments to untrained civilians, with most Ukranians killed very soon after trying to be the West’s hero “resistance”

it would probably suit the Zelanksky, but then again, do we really know what’s going on. after all he is an actor well versed in make-believe. does he really care if a bunch of Ukranians are killed if he can stay in power?

The seppos seem to underestimate, as usual, their adversary here. it’s not some incapable enemy Biden is goading here but one who never stopped training for force-on-force warfare.

I have a lot of doubts about the reported supposed poor state of the Russian advances and failures. for sure, they are coming up to speed, but unlike the USA in the middle east, they can’t use too much air power as the US has AWACs flying up and down the borders directing intel to the Ukrainians, hence fast missle strikes is the better option.

I don’t understand why the USA is so keen to go to war, but then again, if they can send in sons and daughters from europe, well, missile fodder eh?

Biden wants to be seen as tough to the Russians, since he is from an era where you chested up to the Russians.

can’t see this ending well is anyone aprt from Ukraine and Russia is involved, it could go very badly for anyone interfering. the Russians are not stupid or without will

Shorter version.

The enemy gets a vote in whats going to happen as well.

But yes, whether you think its a good move or not (and it appears it may have substantially slowed the Russians) dishing out weapons to civvies pretty well ensures the Russian troops will be much more shoot first and ask questions after.

If theres 3 building someone shooting may come from, flatten all 3…

And in an odd way its a reverse Civil War Spain, the democracies are the ones flooding in arms while at the same time preventing other suppliers (china) from doing the same.

Addressing US troops in Europe:

And you’re going to see when you’re there. And you, some of you have been there

When he says “and some of you have been there” am I the only one thinking he’s unwittingly stated knowledge of US forces operating in Ukraine already?
You know how he waffles on and forgets what he should say and in this case what he shouldn’t say, possibly regarding US troops currently operating clandestinely inside Ukraine.
Of course, no one has publicly called him on this, just another thing your lying ears heard.

Which would go some way to confirm Ukrainian reports that Russian forces east of Kiev are falling back from their positions.

“War is the realm of uncertainty” (von Clausewitz) and all of that, but when reports from each side dovetail like this, they might well be a good indicator of what’s happening on the ground.

We shall see in due course.

Obviously, this little war has gone swimmingly for Putin. What a rout, hey. Couldn’t take Kyiv, won’t take Odessa, strategy reduced to completely destroying cities and ethnically cleansing *checks notes* ethnic Russians in Eastern Ukraine! Destroys own economy, ruins life for a generation of Russians. Well done, Putinists!

Other downstream effects of Putin’s disastrous war in Ukraine:
-Wiped out a century of Soviet/Russian political influence in the West. The entire network of pro-Russian politicians, journos, academics, etc. They are done.
-Russian media influence is hosed out – RT and Sputnik are getting banned from being able to promote state propaganda.
-Russia will now be China’s bitch, selling every commodity China needs at a substantial mark-down, aligning absolutely with China on every interest it cares to raise.

There have been US and NATO member military instructors and advisers rotating through Ukraine since at least 2014.

US and allied military advisory teams are everywhere in the world, comparing notes with friendly and customer nations, and teaching them how to use the equipment they export.

It’s just been seized upon as another anti-American and anti-Western Narrative trope, to try and justify Vlad Bae and the Holy War the Nuffies want to believe he is fighting for them…

According to other commenters, all the cities are now surrounded and Uke troops there are unable to come to help the 50,000+ Uke troops trapped in the Donbass cauldrons.
That’s the objective, at the moment.

I think the Donetsk and Luhansk Peoples’ Militias, and the Russian Army soldiers wearing their uniforms and operating their heavy weapons and anti-air equipment on their behalf, might have begged to differ with your dismissals of them and their abilities after some 8 years of constant fighting, Grigory.

Let alone the Ukrainian troops themselves.

As Min says, Joe is in clear cognitive decline, and as Peter suggests in his piece, that will possibly flummox the Russians. My view is that they will probably just write the comments off as dementia in play and proceed from now on by ignoring them. Obviously Joe is a puppet with strings being pulled, which may have been informational when the puppet was performing to rule, but those strings are slowly breaking as he forgets his riding orders and wanders off. He won’t be sent out in public much after the debacle in Poland, although he will still be a useful puppet in preference to Kamala. It will be interesting to see how he fares after the mid-terms.

I’m with Peter re Israel. They are very alert to realpolitik and no nonsense in response.

I wonder if the historical parallel being acted out in the Ukraine is Spain?
Putin will have seen the shortcomings and successes in his forces and now has a year to sort them out – retrain the troops, get the tanks/APCs maintained up to spec, build the smart munitions, train up the pilots, etc.
The next campaign season will be interesting.
