Sadly, all you can do is pray for the unfortunates whilst considering that the devastation in Haiti can be ameliorated for those victims.

There is no amelioration from brutal crusader Islam and hasn’t been for over 1400 years.

It won’t be pretty. Every single on of them….when found….will be executed because they’re apostates….BUT….BUT….BUT….don’t you know…..Islam is a religion of peace! So what we’ll see over the coming days and weeks in Kabul is confirmation that it really is a religion of pieces…..all enabled by the Sniffer in Chief and his feeble administration…and of course we’ll see the usual progressives say “oh….the Taliban doesn’t represent Islam”….except it does…to a tee.

Just think of this absurdity, it’s like something out of a Milan Kundera book, a little over a month ago the US embassy in Kabul was flying the LGBTQRISTUVW flag. No wonder the Taliban and ISIS are laughing.

More than a year ago I posted an article on old Catallaxy called Wooed with Weasel Words arguing against the then explanation of the popularity of Daniel Andrews was the result off Stockholm Syndrome . Andrews as it has turned out paid millions to Qdos for impression management . Using psychological tactics to avoid accountability and also nonstop long pressers that research had shown that no matter how bad the politician was , this engendered trust in the voters about keeping them safe .
Now we have Authoritarianism in full view , controlling voters and that leads me to Stanley Milgrom’s experiment to research to why the evil Nazi dictates were followed by a majority. From the start of Covid those who were put out front to explain and “order” us what to think , how to behave and all the control measures were the white coats and the top leaders of the country and States . Just like Stanley Milgrom with his hierarchy of people who instructed the participants in giving electric shocks to the so called naughty people behind the screen.
Isn’t this the results we are seeing but as no concentration camps to throw the noisy minority into they are still winning over the others .
BTW where’s Tom?

And now there is scaremongering about children being at risk from delta.

If anyone in government had half a brain (I know, I know), they would produce medical advice that no-one under 18 is at any significant risk from the Kung Flu. They would then “deem” everyone under 18 to be fully vaxxed, adding a lot of numbers to the “vaxxed” population, and raising the percentage currently vaxxed.

They could also do similar for the 18 to 30 year olds. Like the under 18s, they are probably more at risk from the adverse effects of vaccines than they are from the Kung Flu.

Suddenly the 70% target is almost there.

…………

John H, overnight:

If you going to argue that all hell breaks loose when crises because of some inner demon within us, as if you subscribe to the Calvinist concept of original sin, you need to explain why so many do not fall prey to unbridled violence in times of chaos.

It’s not about original sin or inner demons. It is in our nature. To eat, to not be eaten, to make more of us (by fair means or foul) and not to die. That’s it.

We do not, as a general rule, capture and eat other people’s children to survive because we undoubtedly live in the most affluent period in human history.

As a species, we are the equivalent of coddled rich kids. When the slightest blip appears on our otherwise untrammelled existence of long life, comfort, shelter and food it becomes a monumental, Mount Everest of an issue that the people of only a couple of centuries ago wouldn’t have blinked at.

I blame Emperor Barney for the fascist one-party state WA has become. He turned the Stupid Fucking Liberals into a leaderless black hole where the party used to be.

Sneakers is as dumb as box of rocks, but, thanks to WA’s backwards media landscape (and the Stupid Fucking Liberals), there is no scrutiny of his government’s failures (or the fact that closing the borders will eventually kill the WA economy).

Bruce in WA
August 28, 2021 9:36 am

Well, McGowan lives in Rockingham and the media are gushingly saying how he has, singlehandedly, boosted the price of real estate and smashed the crime and drugs problem. (In his spare time he leaps tall buildings too.) In fact, they’ve taken to referring to Rockingham as ‘Rockvegas’ — no, seriously.

So it’s no surprise he wants to hold on to, even extend, his power trip:

Goodbye WA, it’s been nice knowing you

Western Australia has always entertained a fantasy of secession. And if the past six months are anything to go by, that dream may come true.

Western Australia has always entertained a fantasy of secession. If it goes against the Commonwealth plan and stays shut after we reach 80 per cent vaccinations, that dream may come true.

At the beginning of 2021, in a distant time I think of as the ‘Pandemic Pause’, when lockdowns were off and most of the country was able to move around freely, I was fortunate enough to visit every single Australian state and territory as part of my work as a travel writer.

Every single one.

Except Western Australia.

WA, Australia’s proud and defiant wild west, and the state that has been more hard line about its zero-tolerance approach to Covid than any other, still had a border up with NSW even as every other had dropped theirs. And so my planned detour into The Kimberley during a trip to the Northern Territory had to be cancelled.

And WA’s premier Mark McGowan has announced he has every intention of keeping his state just as isolated as they were back then, even when it reaches the magic 80 per cent fully vaccinated number that other states and territories say will end lockdowns and hard borders, under the Commonwealth’s agreed four-phase plan.

“It’s better not to have Covid than to have Covid,” he told reporters, which is obviously true but also a magical fairytale dreamland as a long-term strategy. Over 90 per cent of scientists predict that Covid, in some form or another, is here to stay.

And at some point, unless WA plans to remain an isolated island, banning tourists from coming in and forbidding its own citizens from going out forever, it’s going to have to accept this truth.

But maybe ice-cold isolation is exactly what WA wants. The state has always harboured a fond fantasy of leaving the rest of the country and striking out on its own. In 1933, it held a referendum to decide whether to secede from the rest of Australia. Alarmingly, its citizens voted to do exactly that, although the plan ultimately failed. Secession talk has rumbled ever since, including a spike since the pandemic which led to the formation of the pro-secession WAxit Party.

“I love living my best life in our safe bubble!” wrote one West Australian on social media in response to Premier McGowan’s ‘we’re never coming out from under the covers’ declaration. “We need a tough guy now more than ever; we have to stand up and be counted!” cried another.

RTWT, it’s only about a four-minute read.

The comments that follow are almost without exception vituperative to the max! (And I notice they’ve already been closed.)

Finally, the age of lockdowns is over

OPINION
The age of the lockdown is over.

The only catch is we can’t quite celebrate yet because half the nation is in lockdown.

And there is perhaps no more fitting final act of the coronavirus saga than this tragi-comic theatre of the absurd.

After more than a year and a half of Orwellian doublespeak and Machiavellian powerplays, Australia has finally come to its senses. Unfortunately it has only done so in theory, not practice.

From the very beginning of the pandemic there were those of us who could clearly see that mass lockdowns were never going to be a long-term solution, let alone a humane one.

We pleaded the vital importance of children going to school and adults going to work and thus were naturally condemned as granny-killing capo-fascists.

It would be unbecoming to crow now that we were right but, well, we were right.

Victoria subjected its citizens to four months of lockdown across the bitter winter of 2020 in an effort to beat the bug. But the bug came back and the state went into lockdown again.

And again. And again.

Meanwhile NSW showed that with a well-managed and well-resourced contact tracing system you could beat Covid-19 without city or statewide lockdowns.

The Casula outbreak, the Northern Beaches outbreak, the Croydon outbreak, the Berala outbreak and countless other leaks from hotel quarantine were all contained and crushed.

This all changed with the Delta variant.

NSW officials clearly thought they could beat it as they had the others, first with just contact tracing, then with local lockdowns, then with a citywide “lockdown lite” and lastly with some of the harshest measures ever seen.

None of it has worked. As every health expert and Blind Freddy himself now knows, we will not be getting back to zero ever again.

The predictable Pavlovian response from the hardliners was that this was because we didn’t lock down fast or hard enough.

And sure enough when Delta went down south Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews locked down hard and fast. After a couple of weeks he announced they had reached zero overnight cases.

That very same day Melbourne went into lockdown again. For the sixth time.

On Wednesday it looked like Victoria might have again started to bend the curve, posting just 45 overnight cases. The next day that number almost doubled.

An exasperated Andrews finally admitted there were “not many more levers we can pull”.

In short, he has gone as hard and fast as possible and still the virus is circulating and still Melburnians are living under the yoke.

Maybe it was just bad luck but if so there’s an awful lot of that going around.

In Fortress New Zealand, the global poster girl for ultra-hard lockdowns, they shut down the country at one single case. On Thursday there were more than 60 new cases.

WA’s Vaccine Commander [sic] Chris Dawson says the State is ‘tracking towards’ removing freedoms from people who choose not to be vaccinated against COVID-19.What a great move putting a retarded walloper in charge of a medical procedure.

Hes marinated in a service where ha can literally order things “because he can” and have them followed by his underlings under threats of unemployment of disciplinary charges.

And Sneakers has decided he should run an area governed by a fairly strict code of ethics with reams of case law in place governing consent and the illegality (rising to assault) or pressuring people to undergo medical procedures.

Yet in the entire bloated puss filled sack of the WA (and other state/Federal) health bureaucracies no-one has made a peep on this issue.
…………
https://www.pilbaranews.com.au/news/wa/was-top-cop-faces-hearing-over-mask-edict-c-3611251
WA Police Commissioner Chris Dawson has meanwhile been summoned to face the state’s Industrial Relations Commission on Friday over his decision to require unvaccinated staff to wear face masks at all times while working.

The edict comes into effect from next week, affecting any employee who has not received at least one vaccine dose.

Mr Dawson will face a conference hearing with WA’s Civil Service Association.

The state’s police union has said it won’t accept its members being discriminated against and questioned whether the force has the legal right to demand officers produce medical certificates to prove exemptions.

Mr Dawson last week said virtually all frontline officers were vaccinated but almost a third of other employees hadn’t been jabbed.

Premier Mark McGowan backed Mr Dawson, who has also played a key role in pandemic decision-making as the state emergency co-ordinator.

Underperforming team.

Solution – make the coach softer. The Hun:

A mind guru who worked with Australian cricket teams when Justin Langer was a player believes Langer the coach must conquer a challenge which has tormented many of his hard-nosed contemporaries.

It is simply finding the ability to transition into a sensitive new age as a coach after being raised in a bare-knuckled era as a player.

Langer has been under increased pressure from an unsettled group of players who took umbrage at his old fashioned intensity.

Performance psychologist Phil Jauncey, who worked with Australia cricket sides during the John Buchanan coaching era and a string of major sporting teams, said adaptability was the key.

“I wouldn’t say it is a softer environment since Justin played but it’s different,’’ Jauncey said.

Different, in that repeated failure is tolerated.

Example #1: John Buchanan, who the above-quoted ponytail refers to. Widely regarded as a misdirected intellectual who tried to make the game something it isn’t. Made Mickey Arthur look like Tom Hafey.
Example #2: The Australian chick hockey team, who preached inclusivity over professionalism and the ability to play hockey which resulted in yet another abject failure on the world stage.

I’m with Matthew Hayden. If you don’t like it, fuck off. Better yet, fuck off and see how you would have fared under Border and/or Simpson.

Factual event: Craig McDermott in an Ashes Test between balls in an over, to Border at mid-off: ‘Skip, I might have a spell after this one.’
Border: ‘Fuckin’ hell. Do you want a saucer of milk too?’

1993 tour match in England, on an Ashes tour. Straya are not getting the job done with the pill.

Conversation ensues, picked up by ground mikes:

Border: ‘Hey! Hey! Hey!’
McDermott: ‘What’d I do?’
AB: ‘I’m fuckin’ talking to you. Come here. Come here. Come here.’
CM: (unintelligible fast bowler snark)
AB: ‘You fuckin’ do that again mate, you’ll be on the next plane home.’ (walks away to mid-off)
CM: (something unintelligible and unwise)
AB: (turns around) ‘What’s that?’
CM: ‘Nothing. I didn’t say a thing.’
AB: (pointing at CM) ‘You fuckin’ test me mate, we’ll see.’

McDermott went from good to great after that. Enough said. The management of men is both an art and a science.

Biden just conflated his sons being in Iraq/Kosovo with brain cancer…

https://youtu.be/QnjuG7K41LQ

From the subtitles
3:05 in

“When he came home after a year in iraq, he was diagnosed, like many, many coming home with an aggressive and lethal cancer of the brain – who we lost”.

This is bizarre, weird and makes no sense even in the context its being spoken, which is about combat casualties in Afghanistan.
“We lost a son to cancer who was a serviceman, therefore thats the same as your son being blown to pieces in a suicide bombers’ attack”….

Its Anecdotage.

And there is the swivel to “Taliban arent the real bad guys” at 5:15

“Past few weeks weve been made aware by our intelligence community that the Isis -K, arch enemy of the Taliban: People who were freed when both those prisons were opened- have been planning a complex set of attacks on US personnel and others”…

Some vague threats to hit ISIS-K later on…
Followed by
“These ISIS terrorists will not win”

He is literally saying this as he presides over the taking over of an entire country by a terrorist group..

Then comes this line… In the middle of the worst defeat of American arms since…??? forever..
“There has been complete unanimity from every commander on the objectives of this mission and the best way to achieve those objectives”.

Which, given your complete defeat and humiliations by goat shagging tribals actually may make a point, just not the one you think it does.

Then a quite whack job scripture quotation Isaiah 6:8 “here am I lord, send me. Here I am send me” in the context of his speaking. The only point at which his meds have kicked in and he raises his voice a bit.

At 9:25 Cotton brained Joe reminds himself he has questions coming…
“We just have to remain steadfast…steadfast”..

It is worth watching the whole thing if, like me, youve only seen the bits on the TV news.
His brain is full of worms.

That’s what I said head prefect. I said Trump had bashed every bad actor in the world, iran, russian, NK and the chunks and therefore the taliban knew he meant business; also that biden had changed every aspect of Trump’s plan: Bagram airport closed, sending home the contractors and most of the marines but not the civilians, left the equipment for afshitistan army despite being warned, which he lied about, the idiots would fold, which they did, bribed the talifucks, literally with money and brought back their leader from Qatar and is allowing the talifucks to make the running. In short dealing with the bastards from a position of weakness not strength like Trump.

I said all that; and what did I get, a couple of leftie idiots ringing up and bad-mouthing me, which is par for the course and doesn’t bother me; but not one supporter from the Cat rang up to back me up. I’m shattered. I need a cuddle head prefect, send me one quick.

And here it is, a sighting of “the Taliban are our new allies” spotted (of course) in the gruinaid.

The west has to ask itself: if IS is the enemy, does that make the Taliban our friends?
Jason Burke
Afghanistan’s new rulers are far better equipped than the US and its allies to take the fight to the Kabul airport bomber

After the bloodshed at Kabul airport, the grim reality for those who want to prevent Islamic State’s affiliate causing further murder and mayhem in Afghanistan is that in practice their best partner for this complex and difficult battle would be the Taliban.

Congratulations Cotton brained Joe, you have turned America into an Italy tier ally in any war…

That ISKP is the enemy of both the US and the Taliban is crystal clear. It derives its ideology from the hardline “Salafi-jidahist” doctrines, influenced by Gulf-style Wahabi strands of Muslim observance and the globalised vision of men such as Osama bin Laden. Its ultimate aim is a caliphate stretching across the Islamic world – a single “nation of Islam” within which individual nations are dissolved. One of the insults hurled by ISKP members at the Taliban, who they already consider “apostates” for their (relative) moderation and negotiations with the west, is that they are also nationalists.

Big brass balls.
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/aug/27/us-marines-stuart-scheller-video

A US Marine Corps lieutenant colonel who posted a video demanding accountability from military leaders over the evacuation of Afghanistan has been relieved of his duties and will leave US service, the Marines and the officer involved said on Friday.

Stuart Scheller posted his video to Facebook and LinkedIn on Thursday, the day 13 US service members, 11 of them Marines, and reportedly as many as 170 Afghans, were killed in a suicide bomb attack at the airport in Kabul.

“I have been fighting for 17 years,” said Scheller, then commander of the advanced infantry training battalion. “I am willing to throw it all away to say to my senior leaders: ‘I demand accountability.’”

Scheller said he knew someone killed in Kabul, but was making his video “because I have a growing discontent and contempt for … perceived ineptitude at the foreign policy level, and I want to specifically ask some questions to some of my senior leaders.”

Scheller said he was “willing to risk my current battalion commander’s seat, my retirement, my family stability to say some of the things that I want to say”. Doing so, he said, would give him “some moral high ground to demand the same honesty, integrity, accountability for my senior leaders”.

Scheller criticised the commandant of the Marine Corps, David Berger, for a note sent to Marines about how they might feel about the near-20-year US presence in Afghanistan.

“I’ve killed people and I seek counselling and that’s fine,” Scheller said. “There’s a time in place for that. But the reason people are so upset … is not because the Marines on the battlefield let someone down … people are upset because their senior leaders let them down. And none of them are raising their hands and accepting accountability or saying, ‘We messed this up.’

“We have a secretary of defense [Lloyd Austin, a former army general] that testified to Congress in May that the Afghan national security force could withstand the Taliban advance. We have [the] joint chiefs [of Staff], the commandant is a member of that, who’re supposed to advise on military policy. We have a Marine combatant commander. All of these people are supposed to advise.”

Scheller said he was “not saying we’ve got to be in Afghanistan for ever, but I am saying: ‘Did any of you throw your rank on the table and say, hey, it’s a bad idea to evacuate Bagram airfield, a strategic airbase, before we evacuate everyone?’ Did anyone do that?

“And when you didn’t think to do that, did anyone raise their hand and say, ‘We completely messed this up’?

“I’ve got battalion commander friends right now that are posting similar things, and … wondering if all the lives were lost, if it was in vain … Potentially all those people did die in vain. If we don’t have senior leaders that own up and raise their hand and say, ‘We did not do this well in the end,’ without that we just keep repeating the same mistakes.

“This amalgamation of the economic-slash-corporate-slash-political-slash-higher military ranks are not holding up their end of the bargain.”

The video went viral. Less than a day later, on Friday afternoon, Scheller said on Facebook he had been “relieved for cause based on a lack of trust and confidence as of 14.30 [2.30pm] today”.

He would not comment further until he had left the Marine Corps, he said, adding: “My chain of command is doing exactly what I would do … if I were in their shoes.”

Mr Dragger at 10:40 and 10:45 on coaching and also the Gee-Long Pussy-Cats.
My understanding is that Gee-Long have two coaches.
One is the John Buchanan version of Chris Scott who speaks in soothing tones to “club icons” (Hawkins, Bews, Selwood) and high profile recruits (Cameron, Dangerfield, Rohan, Isaac Smith).
There is also a Justin Langer version of Chris Scott who mercilessly berates junior players for not supporting Scott’s aforementioned big-name recruits and club icons.
The best moment of last night’s Cat-astrophe was Perfect-Hair Patrick flying for a mark, with a clear idea of making it look good for the photo in the Geelong Addy on Monday. Succeeded in doing a passable impression of a soccer goalie tipping it over the bar, straight to a Port player … goal.

If the strategic levels are not 100% zeroed in on Military strategy for their only hot war right now, then how can the tactical issues be right? This commander in the vid makes the point- wtf were they thinking? Well we know. We saw the CJoS a few weeks back very deeply involved and obviously concentrating on race issues and leftard political ideology at the Senate Hearings.

You know that #McClowns ultimate plan is secession and then Belt and Road with Communist China, right?

Never forget that Morrison & Co., first brought suit against WA for closing its borders, which is clearly unconstitutional, and then skulked away from the case at the first criticism that it was making common cause with Clive Palmer. This might have been countered by a chest-thumping declaration that it was in defence of the rule of law and Clive be buggered.

Instead, cowardice being this mob’s first recourse, McGowan was given an open ticket to do as he wishes.

Covid vaccine deaths confirmed by the TGA in Australia in 2021: 7. I don’t have data on the ages, but I’m betting that almost ALL of them were under 80.
We’re trading presumed saved lives of codgers over 80 for real, actual known deaths of people under 80.
It’s bloody evil.
Note, those 7 TGA confirmed vaccine deaths are acknowledged by a system that has every reason to bias towards under reporting vaccine deaths.
Those vaccines have put at least 33 people in the ICU for blood clots this year.
Continuing to roll out vaccines and boosters will kill more young Australians over the next year.

We’re trading presumed saved lives of codgers over 80 for real, actual known deaths of people under 80.
It’s bloody evil.

First of all. I’d like to see what the TGA actually said about those deaths. Also, I don’t accept your presumption at face value for the reason that a large part of this year (beginning) was spent vaxxing old codgers.

Note, those 7 TGA confirmed vaccine deaths are acknowledged by a system that has every reason to bias towards under reporting vaccine deaths.

Can I see the write up on this.

Those vaccines have put at least 33 people in the ICU for blood clots this year.
Continuing to roll out vaccines and boosters will kill more young Australians over the next year.

We tend to accept that the kill ratio resulting from covid shots is around 1 in a million, so I’d expect there to be more deaths as per that ratio.

Why are you just focusing on the deaths this year when you should also be including the 900 plus deaths from last year?

The studios had to start making sure actors could ride before they were allowed on set.

Since I am temporarily (I hope) persona non grata at Das-Cat, I will share my latest experience of COVID madness here.

At the mall today, I entered one of the small shops and there were a couple of people milling around near the entrance. I went to the book to enter my latest version of who I might be (hey, we can identify as whoever we want these days) and heard some muttering behind me about ‘social distancing.’ Wasn’t really listening, as I was concentrating on getting my current identity spot on.

Next thing I know, some bloke is yelling in my ear about jumping the queue and social distancing and the shop assistant is rushing over, immediately deciding that I was in the wrong. Baffled, I explained that I didn’t realise that there was a queue, as nobody was at the book when I came in. Just a misunderstanding.

He went even more ballistic, and she chimed in (although she was at the other end of the counter when it happened and saw nothing.)

At this point I decided to take my custom elsewhere.

I will be mentioning to her manager when I see her that if this unprofessional, rude bitch is in the shop next time I come by they have lost me as a customer.

On a positive note, while there is 100% compliance with masks in shops, I saw a lot of non compliance on the street. Groups of young folks mask-free, dog walkers with mask hanging from one ear, several individuals with no mask in sight. In a country town with wide streets and a breeze blowing, the chances of contagion are vanishingly small, as any fule kno.

Also of note is that I have not seen a single copper or cop car in the last two weeks, and I’m in the CBD. My guess is that they have little appetite for persecuting their friends, relatives and neighbours because of edicts from Sydney.
