On reflection, I don’t mind too much about the pile-on aspect of these upticks, that’s just freedom of agreement and there is usually room for further debate on any ‘liked’ issue. At least it moves the flow along and it is fun to see how many on site ‘like’ whatever. You get a sense of the blog’s spirit. I will try to take note of people’s hates’ made via their ‘likes’ when I am under attack.

If he had any conscience and any sense of responsibility for the position he holds, now would be a good time for Scummo to make a speech directly to the Australian people.
1) He could begin by acknowledging the pain and suffering that the entire country, but specifically Victoria and New South Wales, has directly endured specifically because of government policy at the state level.
2) Then, he could make special mention that Australia is not and never will be a police state; that the actions of the police in Victoria over the weekend, and previously, are reprehensible and will not be condoned or tolerated.
3) To force the issue, he could announce that all defence force personnel will be removed from the streets as a statement of solidarity with the people. He could say that unless Andrews and Gladys open up, he will remove any and all government support for these states.
4) On the matter of the closed borders (WA and QLD, Tas and SA), he could announce that he will take a case to the HC and, if the Commonwealth were to lose there, he would make a change to the Constitution on internal borders an election issue. He could announce the date that the external border will permanently reopen.
5) He could announce the dissolution of the “National Cabinet.”
6) We could refuse to allow any state to link immunisation records to state government apps and acknowledge clearly and unequivocally that there is and never will be forced vaccination in this country nor vaccine passports.
We’ve seen throughout this “pandemic” politicians backtrack, change position and tear up promises to their electors. Consequently Scummo should have no problem doing the same.
And if he doesn’t start making these changes pretty quickly, his backbench should consider a new leader because no-one’s backing him anymore.

Mrs. D’s aunt & uncle are very close to renouncing their Aussie citizenship , they are US dual nationals, and returning to the US, and are actively looking at Salt Lake City. The younger brother is dating a Dutch/Aussie dual national, and they are talking about going to the EU as soon as he gets his Romanian citizenship. If it weren’t for the grandkids & the missus I would be gone as well.

Muddy, I would never shoot a politician. They have a fate worse than that coming, most of them. I was sad for the pig, but my dad is a hunting-fishing-shooting sort of dad and I was dutiful son. This anime actually makes a lot of historical and sociological sense: Japanese are terrified of bears, which makes sense when you take the famous Sankebetsu brown bear incident (1915). A large brown bear woke up from hibernation and repeatedly attacked several houses in the area; it killed several people, including some pregnant women and children. We even have a story involving an old hunter who had his family killed by the bear and was convinced to get back to action by a militia from the attacked village. He managed to kill the animal with two shots, but the bear had survived multiple attacks, shots, and even a fire.
