Undeterred by the wicked, devious and evil protoplasm that is Covid, Melbourne’s underworld continues unchecked (the Hun):

A bouncy castle business owner has admitted to having arsonists firebomb his rival party hire owners.

James Balcombe, former fugitive and owner of Awesome Party Hire, pleaded guilty to 11 charges of conspiracy to commit arson in the County Court this week.

Balcombe recruited other men to launch Molotov cocktails at the businesses and cars of his competitors between December 2016 and March 2017, later instructing an arsonist to set fire to his own shed — causing $1.2 million in damage — in a desperate bid to deflect suspicion.

Arsonists Craig Anderson and Peter Smith made admissions over the $2 million crime spree on party hire companies in Werribee, Hallam, Tullamarine, Keysborough and Warragul, and were jailed.

Meanwhile, Balcombe missed a court date and fled. He was arrested by police in Perth over a counterfeit stamps scam in August 2020.

There’s a picture of this Balcombe chap in the rag. Looks like Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons.

He he, find a libertarian and find someone who wouldn’t know how their freedoms came about if you spelled it out for them.
See, freedom is the natural state of man, it must be, and just charging a fee to come into Aus would stop all the immigration problems……FRMD.
This is literally the mind or lack thereof, of the Libertarian.

“Local councils are illegal”

According to the hopelessly outraged dot who now goes to lies instead of admitting his hippy politics is complete bullshit.
I said local councils calling themselves government, a level of government is unconstitutional.
Which it most certainly is.
Sorry air head, but the rule of law matters.
Not, apparently in loony libertarianville.

“Six days until judgment day”

I have never said anything like that….complete fabrication from the desperate and angry.

“18 to 48 months until the vaxxies all die”

Probably less than that.

In Global Heating Truthiness news:

Exxon CEO accused of lying about climate science to congressional panel

The chair of the House oversight committee, Representative Carolyn Maloney, pressed Woods about statements by his predecessor, Exxon CEO Lee Raymond, who in the 1990s said the scientific evidence for climate change was “inconclusive” and that “the case for global warming is far from air tight”. In 2002, Exxon ran advertisements in the New York Times calling climate science “unsettled”.

“There is a clear conflict between what Exxon CEO told the public and what Exxon scientists were warning privately for years,” she said.

Technical note: Tough gig identifying a conflict of anything, given the 30-year development of The Climate Science is a well-documented forest of uncertainty and lies.

On This Day in 312AD, Roman emperor Maxentius drowned. Let’s see if this sounds familiar:

Maxentius was the last emperor to permanently reside in Rome. And he attempted to embellish, restore and improve the ancient capital, carrying out important building works, including the Temple of the Divine Romulus (dedicated to his deceased son), the Basilica of Maxentius, which was completed by Constantine, the villa and the circus of Maxentius.

In the face of considerable and growing opposition, he had a crack at military success during the Battle of Milvian Bridge. He failed, fell off said bridge during the retreat and drowned.

His body was fished out of the Tiber the following day and beheaded.

The Spec has another article on the Cop26 bullshit; again though the author while ripping into scomo and that fat turd boris, accepts the science of anthropogenic global warming (AGW). The science of AGW is complete crap, unmitigated science fantasy, capable of being ridiculed on so many basis. In another outstanding comment on the Spec article by me I attack this science on one basis which is so easy to understand even members of the media could grasp it; well some of them anyway; here it is before it gets taken down as often happens to my great comments:

The science is elementary, so simple even alarmists and media idiots can understand it. CO2 is plant food, it’s effect on planetary climate is minor. But first and foremost the vast bulk of the CO2 increase is NATURAL. Natural; the IPCC settled this in 2007 in its report AR4, Figure 7.3:

https://archive.ipcc.ch/pub

This clearly shows the human contribution. The total movement of CO2 from both natural and anthropogenic sources to the atmosphere is 218.2 gigatonnes [Gt]; of that the human component is 8Gt; so humans contribute 3.67% of the annual atmospheric movement. That’s it folks. Of that 218.2Gt going up to the atmosphere 98.5% is returned to the ocean and land as shown by the official US Department of Energy [DoE] figures (it should be noted these figures have disappeared from the official sites). This means the atmosphere has an annual increase in accumulated CO2 of about 1.5% of the annual flux of 218.2Gt. if the total CO2 is increasing by about 1.5% of the annual flux of 218.2Gt then as the human CO2 proportion of that 218.2Gt is 3.67% the human contribution to the increase per year must be no more than 1.5/100 X 3.67/100 =0.000552%.

Colin Hay – Freedom Calling

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qT7NBUdqUUo

If you hear a voice call out your name
Saying you can stop yourself from falling
And if he strikes you in his fear and shame
You can leave him to his ruin

If your dreams they wake you in the night
And your heart it is a pounding
If you cry out as you wake in your fright
And the wind it is a howling

Maybe it’s time to find another place
Where nobody even knows your face
There is no need to be afraid
For it’s only freedom calling

If your tears begin to overflow
As you walk against the undertow
There is no need to be afraid
For it’s only freedom calling

If you’re sad cos you’re all alone
And your hands they are a shaking
And your miracle cure’s not working anymore
And the flood bank’s close to breaking

Suddenly you’re on an open unknown road
Passing all the heavy, long wide loads
It is time to make your great escape
And you can hear your freedom calling

I want to dive into the sea of love
But my knees they are a quaking
I can see myself high up above
And there’s no time left for faking

I no longer need to understand
What it is to truly be a man
When I gave up on my masterplan
Did I then hear freedom calling
Did I then hear freedom calling

According to the Sibylline oracles of Bridgepoint there is to be a new series called Spreadsheet, which apparently promises lurid tales of sex in the suburbs.

Another ‘reality’ show I gather. Is there really no one who can write a script in this country? No one who can pen a comedy, who can spin and weave a drama, who can secrete clues in a mystery, or engage curiosity in a documentary?

Just these tacky stringing together of preposterous personalities and contrived situations at which the viewers can sneer, smug that they are better than that. And that sense of superiority and self-satisfaction is all they get. Apparently it is enough.

Unfortunately the current thinking is that everyone must be protected from the consequences of their actions. “Duty of care” extended to a ridiculous degree. How do you get a Lineal descendant on a childless English King?

You take collaterial relatives instead, from the maternal and paternal lines.

All explained here for Richard 111, as well as the osteology, carbon dating, and other means of ID. When you look at that lantern jaw in his portrait and at the skull, you’d claim it was Richard immediately – as well as the known spinal deformity.

Someone should ask Dom what precise threat the unvaccinated pose to the vaccinated that they need to be kept separated out.

A much richer target here in Victoria.

Come Friday (ostensibly 80% vaxxed), the unvaxxed will be given certain freedoms. Come the 24th Nov, when (ostensibly) 90% of the population (including 12+) are vaxxed, those very same unvaxxed will have their freedoms wound back in again. If it ok to be (relatively) free now, what actually changes on the 24th. Arguably, and if the narrative is to be believed, the state is in it’s best ever position in terms of protection of the healthcare system.

How anyone could see this as anything but punitive action (certainly not health), is beyond belief. I’d like to see Dan or Sutton explain the health rationale. Better still, I’d like to see either explain it in court, and how it in anyway abides with the guiding principles of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008. That they’ve been able to plan this inexplicable flip-flop arrangement, a month in advance, speaks ample.

Even if a journalist were to take it on, I’m not sure it would make a great deal of difference. When a majority of the populace support such punitive action, and are screaming; “Fuck yeah, give it to them harder”, what would it matter? Solzhenitsyn recognised this:

“ What conceivable ways has the prisoner of resisting the regime to which he is subjected? Obviously, they are:

Protest
Hunger Strike

Escape
Mutiny

So, then, it is obvious to anybody, as the Great Deceased liked to say (and if it isn’t, we’ll ram it into him), that if the first two have some force (and if the jailers fear them), it is only because of public opinion! Without that behind us we can protest and fast as much as we like, and they will laugh in our faces!

It is a very dramatic way of obtaining your demands – standing before the prison authorities and tearing open your shirt, as Dzerzhinsky did. But only where public opinion exists. Without it-you’ll be gagged with the tatters, and pay for a government issue shirt into the bargain!”

Mathias Cormann calls for carbon pricing to be coordinated across the world

Former finance minister Mathias Cormann, who once declared carbon taxes a “very expensive hoax”, is using his role as the head of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) to encourage countries to adopt more “stringent” carbon prices.

Mr Cormann, who quit the Australian parliament last year after serving as finance minister for seven years in the Abbott, Turnbull and Morrison governments, urged G20 leaders to better align their efforts to reach net zero by 2050.

“G20 economies are lifting their ambition and efforts, including through the explicit and implicit pricing of carbon emissions,” Mr Cormann said in a statement.

“However, progress remains uneven across countries and sectors and is not well enough coordinated globally.”

Angela Rayner has spoken of facing “terrifying” abuse against her family and apologised for having previously called Tories scum, as a man was sentenced for telling her to “watch your back and your kids”.

Rayner, the deputy Labour leader, issued a statement about the abuse she had received in recent weeks, saying the threats “had a devastating impact” on her, her children and others close to her.

Now for those who prize civility in politics, who thinks she would have backed down without a certain level of abuse and threats against her?

Dylan Voller’s legacy lives on:

STAFF at the Don Dale Youth Detention Centre fear someone could be killed amid an escalation in violence that is seeing an officer assaulted almost every second day.

Data obtained by the NT News shows there were 29 assaults against officers between August 22 and October 23, including 11 that resulted in injury.

A leaked email sent by a youth justice officer to senior managers has asked for urgent action to ensure staff safety.

“How much longer before an officer gets killed?” the email says. “We need change and we need it now.

“I have previously worked in Israel where I had Syria and Lebanon firing missiles towards my location, (I was) attacked at knifepoint in Africa and I felt safer than working at (Don Dale).”

Youth justice and emergency management general manager Matthew Varley said the staff did a great job under tough conditions and management was working to address their concerns.

“Just last night I was out meeting with staff at our Don Dale Detention Centre, working with them to listen to the pressures that they’re under, but also to look at how we can make the staffing environment as safe as possible,” he said.

The government overhauled operations in 2018 after recommendations from the Royal Commission into the Protection and Detention of Children.

It has moved youth justice out of the Corrections Department, banned the use of restraints and limited the ability of staff to isolate misbehaving detainees.

CLP Territory Families spokesman Josh Burgoyne called for youth justice to be returned to Corrections, saying the assaults were unacceptable. “When you compound that with the fact that they’re being given fluid suits and stab vests, obviously the working conditions for those people in there must be extremely difficult,” he said.

But Territory Families Minister Kate Worden rejected accusations the changes had made conditions less safe for staff. “If we want one thing it’s we want these young people to see that this is an opportunity to turn their lives around,” she said.

Ms Worden said the government had recruited 56 new staff this year and Don Dale had the highest staff-to-detainee ratios in the country.

“It is not a workplace that doesn’t carry some risk, we are critically aware of that risk and we address that through staff training and procedures,” she said.

A new youth justice centre to replace Don Dale is expected to be ready by the end of next year.

What the hell is wrong with Europe?

The sum total of Europe’s achievements of the last 100 years:-

Europe is currently going through a phase analogous to the ‘3rd generation’. They are Lachlan Murdoch and James Packer.

The earlier ‘generations’ built the place up and made it great. Perhaps in some ways a little rude and uncouth, not as polished, nor possessing the precise but barren manners that this generation finds so admirable in themselves.

Europe used to be driven by a spirit where if something could be imagined they would try it, if it was possible they would do it.

That spirit is gone. Devoured by self-doubt after the one-two of the world wars.

The third generation looks at their forebears with contempt. While entitled to their inheritance they overflow with disdain for those that gave it to them. They would never carve out empires, explore new unknown realms, shape or transform the world. Oh they have no doubt they could do it if they wanted to, but they won’t because they all agree it would be not nice. Re-casting their impotence as a virtue.

The Europeans, bowing to Russia and kowtowing to China, still like to pretend they are masters of their own destiny and the exemplars from whom others take their cue.

a state of comparative isolation imposed upon certain political dissidents within the former Soviet Union, in which the subject was forced to live in a remote and often unfamiliar place and in which freedom of movement and personal contact with family, friends, and associates were severely restricted.

This one goes into a lot more detail.
https://memorial.krsk.ru/eng/Exile/01.htm

In fact, there were more than 30 different categories of internal exile in the USSR during the 1930s to 1950s, and each of them had its own instructions with regard to specific methods applied during the exile, the way the exiled was kept under surveillance, etc.

Victorians dissing other states shows that level of denialism and parochialism, that got them into this mess

I am quite sure Victorians know full well the extent of Andrews’ mess. They’re living in it – which is why any bagging of ‘other states’ (read Queensland) was merely a bit of return fire for a) leading from the couch, and then b) a bit of comedy value when Pallashay turned out to be just as bad.

Which Queenslanders then loudly complained about.

And no keelhauling on the pirate ship.

Keelhauling was never an official punishment of the RN or the RAN.

Although would have been fun.

Keelhauling, taking its name from the Dutch “Kielhalen meaning “to drag along the keel”, was a torturous punishment inflicted upon sailors whilst at sea. The sailor would be tied to a rope that encircled the underside of the ship, whereupon, being thrown overboard, they would be dragged underneath the ship and along the keel to emerge on the other side. Due to the physical harm suffered as a result of keelhauling, with the hull of a ship covered in barnacles, the victim would suffer immense lacerations resulting in major infections and cuts likely leading to their eventual death.

“It’s about both rewarding people who have gone out and done the right thing but also keeping away people who are less safe.”

I think Solzhenitsyn wrote about some GULAG inmates who actually lived long enough to finish their sentence, but were still barred from returning to their homes because of the exile imposed on them.
Some simply hung around the camps begging for food as there was nowhere else to go. They weren’t welcome in local towns and couldn’t get work, but couldn’t leave either.

Another important petition- asking the Victorian Governor General Linda Dessau to dissolve parliament.

126K signatures now.

We are calling on the Governor of Victoria, Linda Dessau, to exercise her powers and dissolve the Parliament of Victoria and call a State Election.

The reason for this is Victorian Labor Government in undemocratic. The directions relevant to COVID 19 that it has implemented are unconstitutional and do not satisfy the requirements of representative government. None of the directions were passed through the houses of Parliament.

The Victorian government is now acting beyond power and everything that it does is unlawful.

If the Governor of Victoria believes in her role then she should act now and dissolve Parliament.
