Yes Grigory, you, like Homer Paxton, are a proto-fascist. Hitler was a financial whizz and his economic policy ended in continental bliss for aeons.
Ed, the worst side of you is when you do Insp. Jacques Clouseau imitations. It just doesn’t look good.
I’ve said before that I have no objection to two blokes calling their relationship a ‘marriage’. Where I draw the line is their getting a law passed requiring me to call it a marriage. I won’t, cos it ain’t.
Remember Homer supposedly referencing Tooze to suggest he (Tooze) supported the view that Nazi economics was the bees knees. Everyone was so incredulous that paxton was being accurate we all went out and bought the book, possibly causing a bump is sales. We then found out that everything the moron said was 180 degs wrong. It was the opposite. He didn’t care though as he just went off skanky hoing about some other shit.
I remember that. That son of a bitch made me waste money on that book. I knew Paxton couldn’t be right about anything. In fact he was so wrong it was comical to the point of competing with Mel Brooks at his finest.
The constant arse kicking he copped for the next two years was glorious in its cruelty.
Doc, it was a huge wank fest, but at the end of the day the impact hasn’t been like a huge hurricane swirling through our cultural tenets. It’s perhaps coarsened the culture a little more but it hasn’t destroyed it. Most people don’t really think a couple of dudes or lezzos are married. The whole idea is preposterous.
Maybe you should get heavily into the immolation of the self ideology, Grigory.

(numbers are rubbery, as there are a lot of variables)
The public are taking it well. Plenty are unhappy, a few disgruntled & even rude when showing us their vaccination status – (their ire is misdirected, as is explained in the industry signage most of us use)
The big surprise has been the sane attitude of the police. We were all on tenterhooks wondering how the cops would ambush us.
Hasn’t happened.
Police did at least one pub in town during the weekend, entered and made everybody show their papers. (That was the time, place, & people with which to be rude and hard to get along with when exposing under duress your vaccination status)

However the cops tried it on at midday Sunday, the twenty or so patrons were all families, everybody was sitting down. (you get the picture).

Big rotating plant (coal / nuke) provides the inertia to keep the transmission network stable for free, just comes as part of the deal. Also it is super reliable, just involves the existing copper coils and simple control systems.
The separate installations you mention would require huge electronic bidirectional inverters with very complex control systems, huge transient protection banks, and probably duplication of everything, to provide the requisite reliability. And all at massive ADDITIONAL cost, which provides no other benefits.
So if it was a straight engineering decision, then it would be an emphatic NO on cost/benefit grounds.
But as a deep green, bugman driven, political decision, it’s clearly a massive goer. Invest now, the returns to the investor class will be massive. To the rest of us, not so much.

And that there is a much greater export market for all Australian meat and the vast majority of its food products into Asia, Europe and evem the US than there ever will be here. Even for the crappier cuts and older animals we won’t touch.
Compound that with more faddish city demands like ‘free-range,’* ‘organic,’ ‘hormone-free’** and ‘farrowing ‘stall-free’*** that add dollars to the production price for still relatively little return to the farmer (and often no real discernible objective improvement in flavour or quality), and here is the problem that simple economics attempts to solve. Product A is too expensive, so Joe Consumer buys proportionally less of it and seeks to substitute it with Product B. If Product B is imported at a vastly discounted or subsidised price (Hi, Danish bacon, Egyptian jam and Italian tinned tomatoes!), then so be it…
* ‘Free-Range’ is an animal husbandry nightmare for normally intensivised livestock like chickens and pigs. Chooks are easy noms for anything that can jump or get under fences (assuming they do not then keep killing for fun after having eaten their fill), and pigs are natural bulldozers. Free-range pork production in Australia has seen all manner of dodginess, animal mismanagement and land degradation- Pigs are naturally destructive- That would never be suffered under any other agricultural or livestock enterprise.
** A emotive ideal based on mendacious misinformation about intensive livestock farming. Australian chicken and beef, etc. has never had growth hormones injected or adulterated into their feed.
*** More mendacious and emotive misinformation by animal rights activists, leading to otherwise avoidable piglet deaths by the mother crushing them when she rolls over.
The ignorance of and contempt for farmers in so many of the consumer demands placed on them is risible.

As far as grid stabilisation goes, maybe all home solar installations require an electrically heated pool of some sort?
Solar panels effectively run at absolute maximum capacity when the sun is shining, and can only provide so much power for direct consumption at the time, or to charge a battery. To avoid overcharging the battery and wasting the solar cells’ ‘fuel’ materials, you would need a power sink, correct? Traditionally, this has been the electricity grid, leading to the dangerously cyclic nature of ‘renewable’ generation.
For a truly off-grid installation (which is the only one I personally find tolerable), an alternative power sink needs to be able to absorb everything the panels can provide, and more. Hence, an electrically heated pool.
Water will absorb a lot of heat, and as such consumes a vast amount of energy to keep at a particular temperature. Even a small wading/exercise pool should provide enough heat/power sinking to keep a representative solar installation fully absorbed.

NFL bins most COVID testing protocols.
This is what happens when you have 120 players sitting out in a weekend.
The NHL & NBA will follow quickly.
During the regular season when there are 16 games, the NFL loves having the games re-scheduled.
There was a week during the last season where there was an NFL game every evening & you guessed it, they won the ratings every single night for a week.
All because of COVID forcing the rescheduling of games.
We’re a few weeks out from the play-offs meaning 4 games per weekend, then 2 games.
Harder to make a buck on the rescheduling.
Hence the ditching of the COVID testing.

Cassie, the Cult of Trump got out of hand. It was inevitable, as the vacuum for real, old-style leadership had remained for so long.
What he did was exceptional – he exposed all the depths of hatred and weirdness of lefties and the laziness and duplicity of the GOP. Look how the lot grew and bloomed in his four years. It took an avalanche of fraud to unseat him.
After just one year, the ground for conservative leadership is again fertile. Give it another three years and the electorate will be desperate for it. Trump is not the man for it – he will be too old, for a start. But he can provide excellent assistance if a new hopeful wants it.

Cassie et. al,
as much as I like your proposition, do you really believe the left will be any less divisive and fanatical in their hatred?
Duncanm, you’re right, but De Santis has shown he has the strength of character to take the crap the left dishes out and give it back to them with a little bit of interest added.

I think it’s probably time for someone younger to like DeSantis to run. Trump did a fantastic job and proved that fairness and prosperity is not all that hard- cut taxes and don’t give away residence/citizenship like toilet paper. “No, I want two cucks not good enough for me to SIMP and jerkoff into a cup…’
Agree 100%, Cassie.
Trump has a fantastic natural empathy for middle America, which made him a political phenomenon for four years when he stormed into the White House as an outsider to fix Washington’s rampant corruption.
But, in spite of the industrial electoral cheating that removed him from office, all that is now in the past and he’s sounding like yesterday’s man.
His Achilles Heel is his planet-size ego that blinds him to the current political reality. Ron DeSantis is a far better candidate for 2024, largely because he doesn’t have any of the divisiveness that was essential to Trump’s ability to break through in 2016.
However, Trump remains the GOP’s most potent voter-turner-outer. If the GOP ensures the Dems’ electoral cheating can be pegged back to pre-2020 levels, DeSantis with Trump’s backing would easily win in 2024.
I just hope the Orange Idiot doesn’t spend another two years sulking about 2020.
When you threaten Rowe v Wade or open borders you are attacking at the points where ideology meets financial interests at the most acidic and lucrative.
It takes persistence and bravery of the kind that Farage showed for decades.
Decades of persistence and a consistent leader.
Trump is the man.

I’ve been thinking about this for the last few days and I’m now going to commit heresy here and say that I have come to the conclusion that I don’t want Orange Man Bad to run in 2024. I want Ron DeSantis to run and win.
I agree. Trump was the necessary disruptor to set the scene, de Santis is the man to push change through.
PS, the phrase “MSM scum” is tautological.
I don’t blame Trump one little bit for being pissed off with the way he’s been treated. He did a great job (that’s an understatement) but he is yesterday’s man. Time for someone younger.
I’m sure demonrat mayors will still be happy to allow their cities to be trashed ofcourse. Talk about a feral and delinquent political class.
you forgot the third bloke she’s currently shagging. Nice piece of work.
Ultimately Trump the man doesn’t matter. He was a symbol of just how hacked off people are with career politicians. A multi billionaire playboy, real-estate mogul and reality TV star has almost nothing in common with the man on the street, but people voted for him. If that doesn’t show how fed up people were I don’t know what does.
I suspect the next major step will be someone just as populist in what they spout, but far more authoritarian in dealing with the opposition. You know, everything the left claimed Trump was, but he wasn’t.
Not really seeing anything to dissuade me that the USA will not exist in it’s current for inside 15 years.
Meanwhile, in the UK The Science! continues to have nothing to do with science.
It should be remembered Susan Michie, the commie who flogged off the family Picasso for lotsa bux, is in the SAGE behavioural group.

I can’t fathom why an upstanding gentleman wouldn’t want to be a father and partner. Not a clue.
JC. Fag Mar certainly is preposterous but it turns into a hellish nightmare when they are allowed to acquire kids.
Rumour suggests that they given an easy ride by the adoption people. Given the lack of accountability of our public sector, that is certainly possible.
Poor kids – it is abuse of their human rights.
To win the 2024 Presidential election, the Republicans need a leader who can motivate the army of grass-roots observers to man the ballot lines, man the counting rooms, man the delivery truck entrances, man the count screens- all the while recording everything and standing their ground if they’re attempted to be heavied out of the control rooms and screened out of the convention centres. Their leader will need to inspire ground troops enough to distribute their own mail-in ballots, it will need to have Joe Plumber brave enough to put the Red signs up on front lawns and pickup windows, will need to have red hats on heads and barnstormer speeches on everyone’s lips.
Only that sort of visibility will win the election, and be seen to have won the election..
I don’t know if DeSantis can do that, or hold up for the 18 months of political-media-industrial onslaught between nomination and electoral college reports.
But, I know that Trump can. Against all odds, he’s done it once.
What happened in 2020 was a coup, facilitated by Big Tech, Big Photocopiers and the MSM. He has every right to feel dudded and hammer away about it.
It may even be that the WuPox was released to achieve that end as well. It would prove that enemies of freedom will stop at nothing to apply the jackboot.
What he needs to be doing is working on getting those involved in Jan6 before the courts and out of prison. That they are still there is a scandal and yet another blot on the US’s copybook. Also in establishing independent and enduring platforms for conservative, alternative viewpoints.
Cassie
Well, that heresy didn’t lead to much of a bonfire in the town square!
as much as I like your proposition, do you really believe the left will be any less divisive and fanatical in their hatred?
No.
What needs to be demonstrated is that the movement is beyond personality. The tip of the spear simply gets changed out when old, worn or blunt.
Sorry bolding confusion-
Only Trump can be seen to have won the election.
The current incumbent has proved that. 😀
Some guy would have to want to do that for that to happen. Which leads me to this story:
The Dangerous Rise Of Men Who Won’t Date “Woke” Women
The article is actually a couple of years old but Instapundit carries the link today.
The funniest thing about the story is it’s written by a woke woman who is outrageously outraged by this idea that men don’t like woke women. By the end of the article without meaning to she totally succeeds in proving exactly why this might be so. Maybe she also should invest in a turkey baster before it’s too late.
Redundancy.
Current bun would make more sense. And reflect brainpower.
So in Danistan, they have the mandates still on, so the 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc ‘booster’ will be madatory.
They will never take off the mandates.
National Cabinet is also expected to discuss whether Australians may need to have had a third dose to be considered fully vaccinated – a move made in the US, Israel and Singapore.
..
He used social media the first time around to leverage his popularity and public profile (something he has cultivated for decades) into support and votes.
Notice all the social media companies cut him off last year to prevent him using a similar strategy.
It isn’t going to stop him. He will now find a way to leverage the bannings into popularity.
That they are still there is a scandal and yet another blot on the US’s copybook.
Too bloody right- just like Lubyanka. Prisoner of that dirty, evil old slag. Have the Pelosis/D’Alesandros ever done on honest day’s work?
New Zealand officials announced on Monday that a 26-year-old’s death has been formally linked to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine after he suffered a rare heart inflammation following his first dose of the Covid jab.
In a statement, the country’s Covid-19 Vaccine Independent Safety Monitoring Board, confirmed the myocarditis that had led to his death “was probably due to vaccination.”
Funny, the now half dozen people I know that have suffered a vaccine injury all suffered from heart inflammation to varying degrees. Not so rare I think.
National Cabinet is also expected to discuss whether Australians may need to have had a third dose to be considered fully vaccinated – a move made in the US, Israel and Singapore.
When you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.
Of course it was a coup last year and not just in the US.
In It’s Starting to Feel a Lot Like Election news:
Morrison’s approval dives over vaccine rollout, grants and Brittany Higgins fallout, poll suggests
The Essential Report.
Takeaway:
• Australia is 33% disengaged from mainstream political parties.
• Albanese is like chewing gum on the dole of your shoe; you don’t know it’s there until it’s trodden into the carpet.
Rather worrying things:
• In the midst of economic and social destruction, Britnee is an ‘issue’;
• 80% of WA is enjoying being a separate country.

Everything you wrote above is what the GOP did in Virginia a month ago under Youngkin and they did it in New Jersey….a Demonrat stronghold which they nearly won. What they did do? They did the following…
1. In Virginia the GOP had a candidate who was able to motivate an army of grass-roots observers to man the ballot lines, man the counting rooms, man the delivery truck entrances, man the count screens- all the while recording everything and standing their ground if they’re attempted to be heavied out of the control rooms and screened out of the convention centres.
2. The Demonrats tried their usual dirty stunts….such as the ludicrous Klan stunt a week or so before the polls. It backfired spectacularly. Youngkin kept his cool.
3. It is worth noting that Youngkin also kept his distance from Trump…whilst he didn’t malign Trump or pour cold water on him, he just didn’t want Trump around and that was wise….Youngkin needed disaffected blue and independent voters. He got them.
Seven breaking news today 8:54am, that you read here a couple of weeks ago.
These pricks are so predictable.
Your first point, Cassie.
In the end, it all comes down to citizen engagement in the process. The Dems worked that out and enlisted an army of howler monkeys to
fortifypervert the result. The GoP can do the same to preserve and protect it.
Boy oh boy do I hate our pollimuppetts. They say you shouldn’t hate, but when it’s focused and for good reason and it doesn’t eat you up, it’s acceptable. Anyway, when they despise and hold in contempt things you hold dear- the family suburban home, making things, growing food, digging up minerals, true scholarship- how could you not hate them.
Trump needs to be elected to reclaim the rightful victory that was stolen from him and the millions that voted for him.
He will win again with increasing
numbers.
Trump may then decide to retire and hand the job to someone capable like De Santis.
I still allow that the military will step in to right this ship of state.
we are officially in the age of genetic warfare
How the FBI Became Politicised
Read all about it. Mueller, Comey & Co. This is just part of how the USA sank to the depths we now see.
Not least of acts was Mueller’s drawn out “inquiry” into the Russia Hoax. It helped the Demrats into House control in 2018.
Like many above, I don’t think Trump should run again. He has done plenty just by reminding people of that Republican Presidents don’t have to be Democrat hostages.
For decades it has been either Democrat President or a Republican who is absolutely captive to them. Clinton, Dubya, Bambi. It is not just the Presidents that won, but the ones that ran for President, like McCain and Romney.
Trump would still have a place as being able to give advice to Republicans – at least with regards to negotiation. That was one thing where Trump really shone thanks to his business experience.
Until Trump it was all Carrot and Stick. The stick was military or economic, and the carrot was giving away bits of American productivity (nobbling American industries to create niches for others) or even outright payment. And they always required an ongoing American involvement, and the other parties always knew they could squeeze a bit more out of America by threatening to walk away and denting American prestige.
Those peace deals Trump arranged in the ME with Israel, from what I could see, were brilliant. Both sides saw the advantage of peace with the other instead of requiring America to be guarantor.
More of this please!
a new pornhub category for the modern wymensis
I wouldn’t bet on the US military coming to the party on the right side of history in the next few years. They have been wokified just like the FBI.
I’m sure many Americans – especially those in Dem electorates – envy Floridians* for DeSantis’s total commitment to the people. He treats them like grownups, not naughty children to be rewarded or punished at his whim.
*I envy them, too.
Shatterzzz,
I love the Hallelujah Chorus. That was a great clip. The kids looked like they had a blast performing their routine.
Can anyone help? I am trying to locate a clip of the classical piece The Black Sabbath. One of the greatest and most rousing pieces of music I know. It has been used countless times in movies etc. I can’t find the correct term to use on you tube or google. All that comes up is the band, Black Sabbath. Any ideas? Even the composers name would be good. Many thanks in advance.
A Trump/De Santis ticket would win, and then Trump can hand over to De Santis when ready. Promote Cruz or Rand Paul into VP spot at that stage.
Trump has proved that you can bring different races together to build a fantastic coalition which is why the meja, big business and the ‘rats tried to start a race war. I still can’t get my head around big American companies being anti American. At least Coles purport to be pro Australian.

Grate news – Deadman rose from the coffin on Cassie’s thread!
We have sorely missed his incisive and definitive comments on matters grammatical, literary, et al. Please, please, stay around, Dedders. 🙂
Not so good news – the Primal Narcissist has realised that her sulking is not achieving anything (for the umpteenth time) and is sneaking back in because nobody is paying her any attention while she is holding her breath until she is blue. 🙁
Oh, well – one door closes, etc.
And, while we are doing personalia, Calli, loving your more feisty comments. You have a lot of credibility around here, good to see it not going to waste. I especially liked your comments on Cassie’s thread, which unfortunately I didn’t read until it was too late for me to chime in.
FWIIW, I absolutely agree that blaming everything on “feminism” is like blaming droughts on the Sun. Feminism has a long and complicated history, some of it good, some of it bad. I for one to not want to return to a world where women could not own property, or vote, or be raped if they were married, or get sacked from their jobs if they got married.
History is a much better teacher than talking points.
And Vic will announce that to keep your job you need a death jab every 4 months.
I think this will cause more pushback, maybe enough to get rid of the Hunchback??
My misus is not happy about this at all.
I value my sperm too highly to give it to someone who would ask for it.

Welcome to modern Australia.

Cruz would be a good VP but is needed at court!
Big corporates are trans-national, US is just another market
It would assist comprehension if the media would treat ‘rare’ as they do ‘peaceful’ and precede it with the descriptor ‘mostly’.
Not so good news – the Primal Narcissist has realised that her sulking is not achieving anything (for the umpteenth time) and is sneaking back in because nobody is paying her any attention while she is holding her breath until she is blue.
Oh no
well of course you wouldn’t you’re a woman…. but…
the current course of civilisation is a dead end.
Holst?

Speaking of getting cancelled I got nonpersonned by Big Tech overnight. Must have reported for something or other and a nerd in the cube farm hit DEL on me. Am thinking whether I bother to rejoin or not. Unfortunately like most of these platforms they have become a defacto communication channel for people and businesses.
Those articles of hers reminds me of why I don’t watch the UK “Live at the Apollo” comedy anymore.
It used to be brilliantly funny.
Now it’s just one act after another praising SSM and homosexuality, or punching hard on tradition and Brexit. Of course there are lots of coarse scenarios invented to boost the “jokes” as well.
The sexual aspect is so rampant the “comedians” don’t have time to declare their veganism.
My 8¢ worth, all in one day:
First look at Japanese Hayabusa2 asteroid sample indicates Ryugu is similar to Earth’s rarest meteorites
The presence of clay on a little space rock is intriguing (to tragic Earth Science wonks).
Normally (on Earth) clays are formed by the weathering of aluminium silicate rock – ie the rock is formed by a first process and then transformed into clay by a prolonged exposure to mobile water.
Which begs the question: where, and in what environment, did Ryugu form?
Having been hit with a couple of rare medical events over my lifetime it doesn’t make them any easier. I imagine the same would apply to a rare death.
Cassie, I’m not fixed on De Santis necessarily (although he’s very good) but agree that Trump should step aside. Frankly, he’s too old. The gerontocracy that has dominated recent American politics is well past its use-by date.
Time to get some fresh blood, fresh energy and fresh faces into the mix.
I say this as a wrinklie who knows that I am not as strong, resilient and flexible (in every sense) as I used to be. And, I’m younger than Trump, and not looking at possibly the most demanding job on the planet.
the Holst music is perfect

We’ve seen what the current leftist administration thinks extremism is.
