I’m not sure who the US should support in UKR Vs RUS. Do you support the “less bad guy?” Zelensky…
Oops. Amazing what misallocating a few tens of billions of dollars can do.

Sorry, this site now seems defunct – says ‘for sale’. Taken over by a telemedicine group.
So did José Feliciano.
Although he did say, “Look, the guy said he was Tom Petty, but honestly, how would I know?”
Oh yeah, the reckoning. The reckoning is where you throw out lib governments, increase the majority for existing liar’s party state governments and have wall to wall Liars. I keep thinking at times , this could be a stealth Liar’s Party site. What reckoning will there be for the Hunchback? How about the Queer’s Land? Oh how about the hermit kingdom out west?
Harmonies, at their best. Akin to he Beach Boys in quality and precision. Stills has done swag of amazing solo albums too, where you can hear the core quality of the CS&N harmonies. The one I’ve always loved most has been Southern Cross.
LOL!
You Individual, you.
I mean being Donald.
His main fault was going on 24/7 about stuff.
Sure, mention it, and explain why it is important for the country.
If his campaign is largely “I wuz robbed” he will lose.
You know, a decent candidate would have beat Clinton in 96. They put up Bob Dole who’s campaign shtick was “this is the last one for the WW2 generation” and a sort of looking back version of “we was robbed”. He lost.
On CSN’s first album Stills played every instrument – guitar, bass & keyboards – except drums and a few acoustic parts by Crosby. He’s always been a very underrated musician & sognwriter.
I promise, I’m not going to criticize you about this.
I’m disappointed; you know I crave your criticisms.
You’ve frequently suggested that it’s a 50/50 bet they actually carry through with elections in Nov.
Explain the scenario and offer a little color.
You have to understand the left mentality. They want power, nothing else; all the virtue signalling is just camouflage. Plus they have no morals or ethics, none; so they’re capable of anything and whatever it takes. Look at the Jan 6 bullshit. Hundreds of people are now incarcerated in 3rd world conditions, all constitutional rights removed and no media or political/legal outcry even from the GOP apart from one or 2. The institutions, FBI, DOJ etc are all doing shit which contravenes all legal process. Given this suspending elections because of a manufactured domestic violence crisis is not much of a step further.
A little colour
Arguably the most successful comedic purveyor of fart jokes was Roland le Sarcere, also known as Roland the Farter, court minstrel to King Henry II of England. Roland performed a dance that ended with the simultaneous execution of one jump, one whistle, and one fart. For his talents Roland was gifted a manor house in Suffolk and 100 acres of land. Roland was so beloved that subsequent chroniclers repeated his story and expanded his biography, a process that inadvertently extended his lifespan to 120 years.
*scrolls back*
Oh. You had to explain that joke?
Boy do I feel old now.
No way. Video or it didn’t happen.
JC, the Libs are a liars party.
And witty.
Last night watched an old BBC doco on Evelyn Waugh. Good Catholic but desperately bored to the point of tormented. Same with G Greene.
Waugh’s attempts to liven things up were often misunderstood.
Roland performed a dance that ended with the simultaneous execution of one jump, one whistle, and one fart.
No way. Video or it didn’t happen.
I do it every morning after getting out of bed. You’re still young; as you get older you’ll get there too.

They’re a confused rabble, but they aren’t the Liars. NSW has acted nothing like Victoria, so there’s that. The liar’s party would have made things multiple times worse. Hell isn’t just a road paved with good intentions, it’s also thinking a moderate silly middle of the road party is the same as those dishonest, decadent imbeciles in the Liars party. They are not.
I have been pondering Cassie’s question about “woke” Rebecca and have come to a conclusion about some very subtle “messaging” in the new iteration.
Old Hollywood had a “sinner must pay” rule in their storylines. Our own Messrs. Movies, cohenite and Woolfman could expand on that with many…many examples. The original story had that already built in – Maxim commits murder and loses his precious home that he sold his soul for. The End.
The new movie takes a subtle twist. It is not enough for Maxim to lose the house, but retain his better, more lasting treasure – his new, loving and innocent wife. After all, he has not appreciated his first beautiful, sexually liberated, you go girl, commanding and loveable (to all but him) Rebecca. In fact, he kills her and replaces her with a more malleable, Stepford version.
But all is not as it seems. His life, even having sloughed off the cares of Manderley, won’t be pleasant at all.
Woke Rebecca is sh*t.
The Clinton administration & Gingrich congress doesn’t get enough criticism.
Part one was NAFTA.
Part two was the dismantling of the anti-trust regime became bi-partisan (ex beating up on Microsoft which ended under the GWB administration).
Credit where credit is due.

The LNP are the least offensive of the Uniparty.
The LNP is the same shit sandwich but with BBQ sauce.
From a right wing perspective, NAFTA was good because it weakened the auto unions and the Detroit Armistice the government and the unions shared.
The benefit of NAFTA was that it neutered the private sector unions.
The problem with NAFTA was it helped the hollowing out of the middle class.
Private sector unions in the US were/are a fraction of the problem the public sector unions were/are.

Be realistic. Do you think the NSW Libs performed better than the Hunchback’s team over the past 2 years? I do by a mile. Now, put this is federal perspective and think what things would be like if Tits Shorten was “Pime Minister”, because that is the correct comparison.
Last night. Early on, I did put up an interesting poem, which could have kept you busy.
Meantime, I watched Love it or List it followed by Brief Encounter and Hairy watched the tennis followed by The French Lieutenant’s Woman. Both in essence tales about the intensity of love but also about how you can’t go around marriage wrecking. One set in the 40’s and the other in the 70’s.
I did pop in briefly to watch Ash Barty’s gracious speech. Brief Encounter finished first so then I joined Hairy for the dual conclusion of the Lyme Regis show. I have stood on the end of The Cob there myself and let my hair blow wild. As you do, of course.
On this Greenwald Callin, Jim Jordan has been filleted.
Go on Foxnews & a range of talk shows and talk tough against Big Tech.
Then do nothing about it, unless you call getting donations from google doing something.
Truly, much less now than they were then. The US carmaking industry was a total fucking shambles because of the AWU. A Detroit worker was earning 30 bucks an hour in 1995 vs 17 bucks an hour for an autoworker in Japan working for Toyota. It was a complete mass raping. And they also made shitty cars.
JC, if I was put through what Victorians had been put through over the past two years I would have topped myself.
Just because the Libs in NSW were less worse, doesn’t give them a pass mark.
Did someone mention guitar?
Those who still have training wheels stick it out for the first minute.
But don’t ask me what I think of you.
Old Hollywood had a “sinner must pay” rule in their storylines. Our own Messrs. Movies, cohenite and Woolfman could expand on that with many…many examples.
It started with the Hays Code in 1934. After that no bad guy could get away with it. Cagney, Bogart, Edward G, Lorre, Cook jr and countless other villains from the wrong side of the moral tracks got their comeuppance because of the edict that crime doesn’t pay. Hays ended in 1969

It’s relative and you know that it is. Absolutism is perfection and we’re never going to get it on earth.
Because everybody is less worse than hunchback!
This is true.
The best we can hope for is a Senate minority which puts a crimp in the excesses of The Albo Regime if he is elected.
And that will not be Fat Cloive.
As soon as his Rent Seeking Subsidy Trough is full, he will wave anything through.
I can’t wait for the South Park episode on Rogan & Spotify.
I have no doubt they’d have one lined up.
I reckon Neil Young & the hippies would be a super friends style group like what they did with Jesus, Mo’ & Buddha etc.
On The Steal.
The takeaway from 2020 is shaping up as:
1) US voting systems are, by design, open to corruption;
2) Corruption is widely distributed and practiced at a local level by activist electoral officials who ‘know what to do’;
3) Because of 1) & 2) issues and extent of vote fraud are too complicated for quick and reliable forensic identification – Courts will not involve themselves (or can avoid involving themselves) in the constitutional electoral process within the timeframe available.
The GOP needs to make sure as much 2020 detail as possible is out for the mid-terms and certainly for 2024.
And (to the extent possible) put in place surveillance that allows early ‘evidence-grade’ fraud identification – that puts a significant political and personal cost on corrupt activity.
In other words, anticipate and make corruption a lot more risky at a local level.
Complaining about the past and demanding voters ‘put things right’ probably won’t fix the situation.
I suspect all those corporations who moved their factory south of the border are now paying hefty “taxes” to slightly spaced-out guys with AKs. And all those corporations who moved to Canada are wondering how to profitably make stuff while paying sky-high Gaia taxes and without offending an endless supply of woke Karens and unpronounceable tribes.
Note to Nth American businessmen: move to a red state and leave any politics you had at the border.
Thanks, cohenite. I remember that other Mr. Movies talking about it in relation to scripts, some distorted to fit, but couldn’t quite remember the dates.

Bill Collins
But you all knew that.
Neither was Qld, but NSW still reverted to a weak rabble from June 2021 onwards and there is nothing good to say about the Libs federally. The few LNP MP/Senators that resisted COVID should be supported but anyone else should be treated with extreme prejudice.

At the federal level the Libs exist to provide a semblance of choice for the voter.
Whatever they may say, they always come around to legislating Labor’s agenda for them.
JC, you know the American psyche better than most here.
From my more limited experience, they can’t abide a sore loser.
It doesn’t matter if you got a bad call from the ref, or if your rival Billy Bob let the tyres down on your Nascar, or if your opponent’s manager is besties with the Boxing Commission President.
They do not like sore losers.
Right maybe on The Donald’s side, but if he runs a three month campaign with every waking moment focussed on The Big Steal, he will lose bigly.
Probably won’t make it out of the Primaries.
Brucie, what you “suspect” or what it is you imagine these days is laughable. The car makers continue to access plants in Mexico and it is working or has worked well. There are no complaints about Canada that I’ve read. You really are living in another universe. Has Hallward done this to you?
These are complementary. The effort required locally for surveilling the conduct of 2022 and 2024 election requires the motivation that is cultivated by 2020.
Orange man will be aged 77 in 2024. The significance is:
A sad and decrepit state of affairs. Yet… there does not seem to be anyone else with the right (for Americans) values who is trusted by the public enough to run against Sniffer in Chief.
If one were cynical one might presume that `murcan policy is formulated by the unelected public service and so there is no great rush for any do-gooder to wade into politics, as one facade politician is as useful as another. This is basically Trump’s “Washington Swamp” meme, and the problem with using the Swamp Meme as a recruiting tool for MAGA is that it is severely in need of evidence and a critical mass of popular credibility.
It’s the critical mass of mutual knowledge that is important. As the old saying goes… the revolution does not begin when you know what the problem is, the revolution begins when you know that I know that you know what the problem is.
Huge sections of the US economy was hollowed out. Tens of thousands of communities destroyed. Steel, fabrication and manufacturing , smelting, metals mining, all feeding into the auto industry were gutted. Timing it perfectly, big Pharma rolled out it’s opioid wave for disenfranchised. Additionally, NAFTA enabled the gutting of many other industries- textiles, whitegoods, machine tools , the list goes on. The UWA had a hand in fking the auto industry but NAFTA fkd a whole generation demographic. Millions of families. Trump did his best to turn that around but the globalist lackey’s in the Swamp (Dem and GOP alike) had to make sure those globalist rivers of treasure were not diverted. So in addition to undermining his Presidency at every turn imaginable, the election was stolen.
And don’t forget Sancho Panzer, a very under-rated finger picker from Valencia.
You’re right, Sanchez. If Trump goes in whining that the election was stolen he will legitimately lose this time around as whining or looking back doesn’t win fair elections over there. If the fucker crafted the argument to suggest that, yes 2020 was stolen for Brandon but he(Trump) will do what he can to ensure it doesn’t happen again, then he should win provided he can work off the cheating.
. that has been the problem for many years for Grace and probably the cause of her terrible troubles
US steel killed itself.
They were using antiquated methods compared to what the Japanese & Koreans were using.
I’ll say. Boyfriend decides to pop the question down on one knee and don’t you know it, there just happens to be a press photographer there to capture the moment. The out of focus bushes in the foreground lend one to suppose that the whole thing was papped. She appears to be sucking in her midriff in true instagram influencer style while choking back the tears due to the drama. Immortalised in the pages of the Hobart Mercury for all time.
It took the destruction of the steel industry & it’s effective rebirthing to now be worlds best.
I don’t count the advanced material production in that because it a fraction of the size of US steel production.
The biggest problem in the US is the tax burden falls unfairly upon income earners.
Not asset holders.
We have the same problem here in Australia times 100.
Both the tennis women spoke well although I find the current compulsion to over the top emotion and “those who love me” babble a bit much to take.
Ash’s “how bloody good is that” was a winner.
Collins is impressive on court but she did rival Rudd’s concession speech for length . Fortunately she eventually ran out of people who love her.
She may have taken her lead from the apalling ‘look at me’ Tennis Australia boss who refused to shut up. Lady, the girls do the playing, you just collect the tickets, sock it.
There was another one – in bedroom scenes, one of the pair had to have their feet on the floor.
They got around the feet on the floor and single beds. In The Big Sleep Bogart asks some questions of the dowdy bookshop girl, Dorothy Malone, who takes off her glasses and releases her hair; Bogart produces a flask, she puts up the shop closed sign, some sensuous music begins, the camera pans to the street and then after a while back to a very satisfied looking librarian. There’s also a witty scene where Bogart and Bacall discuss sex in horse racing terms:

Anyone notice this yesterday. ‘Cramps’, they say:
Australian Open junior fourth seed Jakub Mensik has collapsed with full-body cramps in a dramatic finish to a brutal boys’ final.
The Czech 16-year-old was serving to stay in the match at 5-6 in the deciding third set against Bruno Kuzuhara when his legs seized up, leaving him struggling to continue.
He then served successive double faults that allowed Kuzuhara to seal a 7-6 (7-4) 6-7 (6-8) 7-5 victory in an epic contest that lasted three hours and 43 minutes.
Mensik collapsed after losing championship point and received medical attention before being taken away from the court in a wheelchair.
He was unable to participate in the trophy ceremony.
“It’s an unfortunate way to win it but I’m wishing Jacob a speedy recovery,” top seed Kuzuhara said.
This is quite correct.
And the effort and intrusiveness of introducing surveillance – the court skirmishes and State issues and activist howling – would be a big help in circumventing the MSM containment/silencing on behalf of the Democrats.
My original point was that simply complaining 2020 to the voting public is unlikely to achieve much on its own.
That sort of carry on led to the loss of the Georgia seats.
A political Stalingrad.
Haha, I can’t see Pelosi retiring. It would be open season if that occurred.

I wonder if the “10% for the big guy” is bigger from Russia, Ukraine or China. Interesting geopolitical question.
No chance. Zero. The FBI won’t lift a finger.
No, the opposite. They lost those two seats because they put up two RINO candidates that played the ‘look forward and don’t mention the election only two months earlier’ strategy. They meekly made mention of it in the last two weeks because their polling numbers were terrible but the base by then knew them for what they were and didn’t bother voting. It didn’t help that Republican officials were lying their arse off about their deal with Abrams and the conduct of the election.

There is no liberal party in government in Australia they are all Labor-Lite
Whilst I respect the enthusiasm of commenters pondering on who might stand and how they might win in 2024, the fact is that the Dems have figured out how to cheat, they saw it work, and they will replicate that (with suitable modifications as required) in perpetuity.
They might be dumb and wrong, but they aren’t stupid. They will cheat until they can legislate, but in any event there will never be another Republican President of the USA.

MfM – The mid terms will be very interesting. The question being do they dare allow the Republicans to win the House and the Senate? Which they will unless the Dem black ops teams go all out. Or do they steal the election blatantly to keep their agenda going?
The other issue of course if the Republicans do get the House and the Senate there will be lots and lots of extremely painful hearings and Congressional investigations.
Gabor, the chatter I am hearing is that the flooding that has cut the Trans is a 1 in 50-year sort of event. Though some of the culvert washaway pics out there suggest that some dodgy engineering to replace what was probably low bridges with smaller concrete culverts and just fill around them occurred somewhere way back when.
The cost and effort of bridging some of those floodplain areas would be prohibitive and probably take far too long to resolve. It will probably be a case of rebuilding with far bigger channels, and go from there.
Once the ground dries out enough, of course. I am told many of the areas in question are on limestone and other pretty solid ground- No rapid drainage like you get with sand.
but in any event there will never be another Republican President of the USA.
Good grief!
The reason he’s going in so hard about this now is to support the various decertification efforts going on around the country, which are starting to ripen. If you’re trying to predict what a Trump 2024 platform looks like, I wouldn’t extrapolate too much from what he is saying now.
In fact, I think I can predict and summarise the central plank of a Trump 2024 platform – ‘look how terrible Biden’s America is. Remember how awesome Trump’s America was? We can get that back! MAGA’
I’m not saying that Trump doesn’t hold a grudge about what happened in 2020, and if he runs in 2024, no doubt he’ll raise the big steal. It’s an important part of the narrative, after all. But it’s not a central part of the narrative. Also, it would need to be presented in the context that the problems that allowed the election to be stolen have been fixed, as people may not vote in elections they perceive to be rigged. No, if Trump runs in 2024, he will run primarily on his record and contrast it with that of his successor. And he will likely have a good story to tell.
No, it was the spineless unwillingness of Sens Perdue and Loeffler to make firm commitments to investigate what happened in Georgia in 2020 that suppressed GOP voter turnout, resulting in them getting shit-canned. As mentioned above, people don’t vote in elections they think are rigged. They also don’t vote for cowards.

Telling that neither Biden nor Blinken did anything about this incredible insult.
BoN, mid-terms are a LOT harder to cheat.
You can swing a Senate seat or two (which is not wildly different to swinging a State or two in a Presidential) but the logistics of running the House are such that I’m not sure it’s possible. The odd seat is probably not so tough, but holding up against what looks to be a serious swing is surely impossible.
The GOP can inquire until they are blue in the face. The media won’t report it, the inquiries will be all “far right” if they are mentioned and so life will go on.
The distributed nature of US voting laws (as JC and others have highlighted above) means that the Dems only have to ensure they cheat in key places, and – let’s face it – cheating (aka, in its mildest form, gerrymandering) has a rich tradition on both side of US politics, so we can assume it will happen.
The Dems are very good at it. Game over.
Look, Virginia,
I know you’ve led a sheltered life, but The Donald would fuck anything with feathers.
Anal swabs.
Good god. This is just about control and seeing how much they can get away with.
Lying flat? More like punch a sodomising doctor in the neck.
Why did he pay her off then? Sure, it wasn’t an affair as he would have just leg overed in a one night stand. He did bang her though, right?
Custard, I don’t like it any more than the next bloke, but if you can show me any way that the Dems can be stopped from just blatantly cheating again over the next couple of Presidential cycles – during which they will undoubtedly have a chance to legislate their permanent incumbency (a la the Bill they have tried to get up this term) – I am all ears.
Mark – If the GOP wins the House and the Senate then Ron Klain’s agenda comes to a crashing halt for at least two years, and probably is reversed. The Bernie Bros will not be happy. So irrespective of the difficulty they have an enormous incentive to try to steal the mid terms. After all Gaia wants them to it to save the planet from disgusting humans.
The last two Republican presidents were only elected with razor thin margins. Given the massive ongoing demographic change, turbo charged by Biden, where will Republicans ever get enough voters from in the future?
Printed off a couple of A4 Canadian flags and put them out on the front fence. Hope they have no trouble over there.
Bruce,
The “want” is undeniably there. I’m just very sceptical about the “means” when it comes to the House. Basically, I don’t think it can be done (he says, touching wood*).
* No, NOT phrasing.
Mark – The “means” is software. Easy as pie. The Dems have determined from the 2020 Election that they can do absolutely anything and get away with it. Dominion has had a full gold plated get-out-of-jail card given to them. Stalin was quite correct about who counts the votes.
True(ish) enough.
But the Dems have seen a bit of uncomfortable shifting about in the demographics of recent times. They won’t be relying on imported votes which may extinguish after a generation or two.
They want to make this certain, forever. And sometime in the next 8-12 years, they will have the numbers to do so. And they will.
Bush was in the 2000 election, but he won comfortably against the gigilo in o4.
Also, Latinos aren’t massively for the Democrats, they are a majority but they’re sliding to the GOP. Same goes with blacks to a lesser degree. Whites remain the real focus because they’re about 60% of the electorate and a 2% swing means a lot.
Look, Virginia,
I know you’ve led a sheltered life, but The Donald would fuck anything with feathers.
The issue is donut, would he fuck you.
Head prefect, we’ve had this discussion. In deference to your mental withering I’ll repeat it. The whore was a meet and greet girl at one of Trump’s casinos. Her side-line was whoring the high rollers and then black-mailing them. Trump found out and wanted to prosecute the skank. The high-rollers did not want that so he reached a commercial settlement with her.
Nonsense on stilts. The Dems ALWAYS cheat. In 2020, a confluence of circumstances came together that allowed them to cheat on a scale that flipped the result – temporary measures put in place due to Covid that weakened election security in battleground states, large numbers of election workers that genuinely believed Trump was worse than Hitler and willing to do whatever it took to get rid of him, a GOP establishment that preferred a Democrat establishment candidate victory over their own candidate, inadequate GOP oversight of the count, inadequate preparation by the Trump campaign to assemble a solid legal team to fight the imposition of Covid measures pre-election and contest the outcome effectively, and an enthusiastic yet naive group of voters that had no idea how low the Dems were willing to stoop to in order to get their guy over the line.
Subtract just one of those factors from the 2020 election and Trump wins. Most of them won’t apply in 2024. What the Dems managed to pull off in 2020 was a close-run thing and is not replicable. If they won again in 2024 under questionable circumstances, it will be because they devised and were able to implement very different ways of cheating. I don’t think they can do it this way. A Dem candidate may still win in 2024, they’ll have to win the old fashioned way – by being a more attractive choice for voters than the other guy.
Bruce, actually not that easy… multiple systems across the States for starters.
But the other problem is that it is much, much easier to fudge numbers in a State than in a Congressional District of <700k residents (let alone voters).
I just don't think that ballot tampering (in whatever form) is viable across enough districts to matter.
Caveat (after pondering) … in a landslide year
Mark,
Predictions are difficult, especially about the future.
Let’s see what happens at the midterms.
I predict a massive swing to the Republicans. 28 Democrats are not running again because they know the ruse is up!
I never read this explanation before Cronkite. Oh okay, I’d didn’t know this. Frankly, you should have made sure I was aware of this.

oCo, I hope you are right.
I guess I just don’t see that 2020 confluence of events as being quite so unique as you do, I’m not sure that all of them were necessary, nor do I think that the ones that matter aren’t replicable.
OCO
The biggest problem is vote harvesting combined with mail in. If this combo exists 24 say goodbye to the chances of the GOP candidate.
As do I!
I never read this explanation before Cronkite. Oh okay, I’d didn’t know this. Frankly, you should have made sure I was aware of this.
Remember when the whore sued Donald for lying about her and their affair? Who won that and who had to pay the Trumpster for losing, a rare cost award in the US system. In addition here is the original agreement.
As punishment for not believing me or forgetting, or both, go and watch The Big Sleep with Bogart and Bacall; and report back.
Cronkers, is she pregnant or devouring the entire season’s US wheat harvest? Dude, she also needs to do something about the length of the hair.
Obama in 2012 won on a razor thin margin in the battleground states, as did Biden in 2020. It’s the nature of the beast. The Dems can let a bunch of illegals in and allow them to vote in deep blue states, but it’s only going to turn those blue states bluer, so no net gains there. On the other hand, Hispanics and the working class are defecting from the Dems to a more populist GOP, and that augers very well for the Republicans if they don’t revert to being the party of Romney, McCain, McConnell, the Cheneys and the Bushes.
Cronkers, is she pregnant or devouring the entire season’s US wheat harvest? Dude, she also needs to do something about the length of the hair.
Don’t disrespect the gun girl head prefect. She can shoot the cheroot out of a shorter’s gob from 100 yards. Anyway she’s having twins.
I don’t think these will be major factors in the states that matter come 2024.
Telling that neither Biden nor Blinken did anything about this incredible insult.
Bend over.
However, if there was one party capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, it’d be the Republicans. So let’s see.
Baris has Trump currently winning 40% of Independents compared to 28% to Biden for 2024 in his latest poll.
I’m not sure why the anal swab thing is being raised again – it was a power move by the Chinese when Biden entered office.
Anyway, I think the Yanks should introduce their own Covid testing protocol for Chinese diplomats. You know how prisoners make number plates in the slammer? Well, maybe they could do Covid swabs as well. When Chinese VIPs and diplomats touch down in the US, they can be bussed to the nearest penitentiary to be checked for Covid by Bubba. Privacy is assured, although Bubba’s swabbing technique is somewhat unconventional.
Kaitlin’s cheeks have that rosy glow you get in late pregnancy. Those horrible old ladies at the abortuary – withered, angry, defeated. And a balding, grey old man too.
Grotesques doesn’t begin to describe it.
PROVERBS FOR MODERN TIMES
There are three things that feminists hate, yea, even four things they despise: a contented wife, a strong husband, happy children, and a household full of love.
Progressives look at Reason and say “who are you?” and to Common Sense they are a stranger.
Marxism is the opiate of the elite.
Socialists boast of their their righteousness, but their desire is only power.
Progressives demand three things: your approval, your money, and your children.
Libertarianism is a bridge that is only half-built.
Progressives hate normal life, and a city that is not in upheaval they abhor.
The mainstream media are dogs; either attack dogs or lap dogs.
Feminist women think the worst of men because feminist men are the worst of men. (h/t Grump928(C))
The Democrats’ demand to let justice prevail actually means let just us prevail.
The Progressive has two daughters: Submit, and Shut Up.
The elite sneer at truck drivers who deliver their food.
Progressives hold a street protest to proclaim their virtue, but others must clean up their mess.
The more loudly the media insists that something is true, the more likely it is to be false.
What is advocated by liberals today will be defended by conservatives tomorrow.
Progressives want to remake the world on someone else’s dime.
Foolishness is bound up in the heart of an antifa loser, but a 10-year stretch in a Federal PMITA prison will drive it far from him. Or, perhaps not.
Progressives define hate speech as speech that they hate.
Joe Biden in the White House is China’s delight
Rickw, where was the 8?? We’ve had 12?+ this month but nothing last night (Kiewa Valley).
Corowa recorded 8”. We got 6” according to the rain gauge but maybe more, I’m not sure how accurate it is when it is being hit with squalls.
The paddock the shed is in is flooded, the floor of the shed is a mere 1/2” above the current high tide mark, the water tanks on the shed are full. I guess my stormwater system is now full tested, no evidence of gutter overflow into the shed. I can’t tell if my emergency overflow gutter pops operated because there’s 6” of water underneath them.
I have a pump that I had brought to pump out the dam for irrigation. Will try and use it as a flood pump, only problem is where to pump it to that isn’t a km away!
China brings back anal swab testing for Covid two weeks before Winter Olympics begin
We can at least be thankful that’s one of the few aspects of China’s covid response the West didn’t copy.
The Bat Eared Mong hasn’t found out yet….

China’s Manipulation Of Covid Data: The Two ‘Smoking Guns’
Gun 1:
24,000 ‘official’ Covid cases since May 2020: 4 deaths. Apparent case fatality rate = 0.016% – about 100th of anywhere else.
Gun 2:
If it is Covid, assuming a 1.6% case fatality rate, the 1 million excess deaths points to 60 million Covid cases.
That’s low in population terms, but still quite a lot of coverup.

The landlord of my local says that. as of tomorrow, he’s liable for a HUNDRED THOUSAND dollar fine, if anyone who isn’t double vaccinated is sprung on the premises, and said person who isn’t doubly vaccinated is liable to a twenty thousand dollar fine…
According to Andrews, “following the advice of experts is mandatory”. There is simply no choice or deliberation in the matter.

I don’t have a problem with children at protests, leftie or otherwise. I have a problem with being asked to listen to them as if they are the fount of wisdom, or if they’re being used as a shield in a confrontation, but a child standing next to his or her mother of father repeating a slogan as an adult would is neither here nor there.

Did you see Albo escorted to a presser by a woman holding an umbrella over him while she’s copping most of the rain?
Albo’s not right in the head.
This group “Law Abiding Firearms Owners” has done yeoman’s work in FOI requests and putting pieces together. They have a strong evidence based case that the QLD Premier and her department lackeys were themselves drafting the text for public health orders for QLD’s CHO (Jeanette Young) to sign, regarding the ammo sales ban at the very beginning of “Covid19”.
How crazy was that whole thing? They banned the sales of ammunition because of a virus they said, “Public Health – talk to the CHO, it’s exclusively her decision based on The Science (lol)” they said.
Except the government were drafting the “orders” and just sending them over to her be signed.
Which is as I said it always was, all governments have been using these “CHO’s” as their tame puppets from the very start. We’ve simply been living under naked dictatorships for two years.
“ On the single issue of restricting firearms dealers, Rebecca McGarrity, Executive Director of Social Policy in the Premier’s Department, sent and received dozens of items from more than five Queensland Agencies and Departments and from private industry on the weekend of 28-29 March 2020.”
March 2020 was a coup.

“It’d be so long since he’s been among normies that he wouldn’t realise how this comes across.”
There’s never been anything normal about the grub Albosleazy. He’s never had a real job….he’s a parasite. He spent the 1980s turning up at Labor party meetings and conferences threatening to go after “Tories”. He was given a safe inner city seat (back when he first ran it was a safe Labor seat…no more). He was filmed in parliament, only six years ago, shouting “smash her” at a female Liberal. One of his buddies is the creepy anti-Semite Jeremy Corbyn and I am pretty sure Albo doesn’t think that much differently to the Jew hating Corbyn.
The bottom line is that Albosleazy is a thug and not fit to be PM and if we had a half decent PM and government Labor wouldn’t be in contention and Albo would already be toast.
Experts are really easy to identify.

We are thinking of booking this for an 18 nite Adriatic and Agean cruise in August 2023. Only 275 pax and something a bit different in the cruising line. Looks pretty relaxing, but only worry is that August is British and EU school holidays; don’t want to be overrun by kids. This is a new build, and the ‘lux’ element in the furnishings is rather Mittel Europa via Russia (like the Ritz in Moscow), but I don’t mind the antique feel on a sailing ship. It’s all new build and I hope will still be reasonably so in 2023.
You have to have a medical certificate of fitness if you are over 75 as no lifts or escalators.

Off for our lap swim now. Gotta keep fit.
Governments banned ammo sales all over the place in March 2020 because they knew what they were doing and what they were going to do and were doing.
They expected a violent counter-revolution, because they had a political revolutionary mindset when they were deliberately and carefully storming, demolishing and seizing the institutions of our society at that moment. Violent politics was at the front of their minds, not some dumb zombie “virus” that never eventuated.
“Off for our lap swim now. Gotta keep fit.”

No need for a Premier on $10,000+ per week with a dept costing millions & millions.

Or perhaps a town crier, who begins every announcement with: “Hear ye, hear ye, experts have said…. [blah blah blah]”
Albo has reportedly been “reaching out” to “faith groups” to repair the damage done by Shorten in 2019.
The proverb “If you’re going to sup with the devil take a long spoon” comes to mind.
Andrews is just playing Batman “I’m not the hero they want, I’m the hero they need”, they probably call him Batman in their gay secret National Cabinet weird meetings.
The reality is his job is to tell all of Australia what you’re about to get. Has been since the beginning.
Back when I was young and naive I used to think he used his belligerence and bully boy ability (and numbers) to bring the “National Cabinet” into submission “Andrews is the true leader of this country”, I’d say in 2020.
But now I know it’s not so, the “National Cabinet” is a true council – as they seek to rename it and make it permanent. They all agree with everything, and then they leave the meetings and go out and play their parts to advance its single agenda.
Whatever happened to “fraud vitiates everything”?
Oh good grief.
Does he believe he’ll actually be believed?
OTOH maybe he means a certain faith group, often found in places like Lakemba and Condell Park.

I’ve had similarly irreverent signage aplenty for the past couple of years, making a total & very effective mockery of the covid laws.
The signage is quite popular among those who can read.

I don’t know who was mentioning the Tulip Bulb Mania ( I think it was Brucie) as an example of a boom – knowing him, most likely about EV cars.
Why bring up the Tulip Bulb Mania when there’s what appears to be an irrational boom going on right now with Bitcoin and the like . BTC will eventually make it’s way to close to zero.

NY Nurses Arrested After Selling $1.5 Million In Fake Vaccine Cards (29 Jan)

A few times, JC. Very few people out in the middle of them. You have to go out every few hours to shovel the sidewalk and stoop then salt them. The day following a blizzard is always great. Fresh snow and clear sky.

Deadlier than covid, even.

With BTC’s volatility, it can’t ever be a currency as no one would be game to price anything solely based on BTC. Any pricing being done now is off the US Dollar anyway and if a price is denominated in BTC, any huge move is compensated with a price adjustment.
If it can’t be used as a currency, then what is the purpose of BTC? It can operate as a store of wealth? Not really as there’s nothing intrinsically worthwhile about it.

Tell the readership what is some of this pithy signage you have going? We like to know, but be very careful you don’t turn it into narcissistic pubbling as you very aware where that leads.
Someone upthread speculating about US companies being stiffed in Canada and Mexico after moving there under NAFTA.
I worked in automotive years ago and had exposure to several plants in North America, across the U.S., Canada and, to a lesser extent, Mexico.
Whenever a new plant was built in Canada or (usually) in a depressed part of the U.S., state and local authorities and unions used to fall all over themselves to get and keep the plant. Land was granted on peppercorn rentals, planning requirements waived or fast-tracked and collective bargaining agreements were struck miles into the future with highly predictable wage levels.
Everyone loved it when Big Auto came to town.
Trust me, anyone who tried to kill that Golden Goose wouldn’t be long for this world.
Quite so.
Qld at least made the vaxx mandate only for on-premise.
Takeaway purchases are an essential service or somesuch & no vaxx required.
(This leads to a myriad of complications in the health directives & internal rules, as unlike some states, in Qld only pubs are may sell takeaway liquor.)
I’ll bet good money that no – one has though that one through.
I’d plonk for it to be more likely:
Nobody in an air-conditioned office in Perth knows or cares about the difficulties of enforcement.
It’s not their block that’ll be getting knocked off trying to enforce it, just coppers & bottlo staff.
Who cares about them?
If there’s any trouble, double down by increasing the fines on the front-liners so they do enforce it.
Problem solved!
I’m not a big fan of bitcoin either but for buying drugs on the dark web and those sorts of things it has its uses. Buying a share in a jpeg image seems more in line with a current day tulip bulb craze / madness of crowds IMHO.
The black sludge stage is terrible. And if you get another cold spell and it freezes, even worse. Nothing like having a frozen layer underfoot when out and about.

It’s not really a criticism of what some people think about what occurred in the US after NAFTA. This though doesn’t exempt general thought leadership/we make nafthink crowd.
It’s true somewhat that the bottom quintile of the American labor forced suffered from a real wages not increasing compared to the other “5ths” – especially the college educated. However, some of this was disguised as fairly significant piece inflation in medical insurance. The more important impact was illegal labor causing a wages in the lower scales to be depressed. We also shouldn’t forget productivity gains displacing workers in the lower rungs.
The most important of these factors constricting wage growth was the loose border control.
I see srr and sycophants took exception to me doing what indolent does all the time, post up a death and ascribe it as a vaxx death with zero verification that it was vaxx related. In this case though Trooper Lamay was in hospital with covid complications but let’s not jump to conclusions!
I don’t revel in the premature death of anyone, that’s you projecting your world view onto me.
I think it’s very sad.
But good to confirm the hyperbias, thanks everyone!
That’s technically correct, an Hotel Licence is required to operate a Bottleshop, however that Bottleshop might be adjacent to the Hotel, it might be in the Shopping Centre across the road or it might be 10 kilometres away.
What’s the limit on how many Bottleshops a Pub can have, Sal?
If someone is on unemployment benefits and has not been vaccinated they are presumably not able to apply for a great many jobs. Wonder what the rules are regarding that one.
I am in Marseilles. Only three foot passengers plus a bunch of people with cars on this ferry. I went back to my cabin to put finishing touches to my packing and came out to find it was just me and a couple of staff left.
Escalators from 8th from 3rd had been turned off but I found someone who told me I could use the lift. Marseilles docklands (which have obviously had a similar makeover to other docklands) are a barren desert at 8 am on a Sunday morning and I might have panicked without my internet working but had scoped out my general directions yesterday, and screen shotted them, plus I had the cathedral on the port as a handy landmark.
Fortunately then you get closer to the centre Marseilles has excellent free WiFi.
I have to kill time for another six hours with my suitcase and backpack in hand.
I’ll cope.
That problem solved itself when the welfare recipients discovered they couldn’t get into the TAB or the pokies until they got vaxxed.
