Isn’t White Russia a drink?

Shudder memories there Sancho on a break from work when I wiped myself out in an Expat bar in south east Asia one night getting into a shout with a fisherman from Weipa on White Russians. Came back to pay the bill the next morning with one of the worst hangovers I have ever had and was astonished at how many we got through. It was legit too, the bar owner filled me in on the carnage whilst laughing his head off. I haven’t touched it since. Sins of youth I suppose.

Before 1917 it was Red Russians,

After 1917 it was White Russians.

They built their cathedral on Vulture St. in the early 1920s, a stone’s throw from the ‘Gabba.

In 1945-46 Alexander Kerensky lived in Brisbane for about a year.

I suspect he maintained a low profile.

Rosie, are you this insane? It is a clear photo. Go find it. Saw the footage this morning.

Two Canadian Mounties charges the crowd trampling an old lady with a walker and another guy. The photo has the lady on the ground near her walker under one horse. The other horse literally has a hoof on the chest of the guy. It looked seriously bad. Broken ribs bad at least. The Mounties horses were much more robust than NSW plod horses, maybe a chunk of Clydsdale in them, very big hooves.

This is the post on the “deaths in custody” and the trampled woman.

rickw says:
February 20, 2022 at 7:30 am
At least three people have died during police action on the peaceful demonstration in Ottawa, including an elderly woman that was trampled by police on horseback. The woman was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Two male protesters mysteriously died early Saturday while they were in police custody. Police have not released the identities of the two men, or their cause of death to Vancouver Times.

Next stage of escalation, killing people.

Now, rickw quoted that from a news report which I linked to to have a look. It was the Vancouver Times.

rosie

Till it can be substantiated I remain wary especially given the effect of the phenomenon known as “the fog of war.”

That Queensland pair with the saw were rank amateurs.

Krystof Azninski, the man who chopped off his own head with a chainsaw in 1995

Polish farmer Krystof Azninski, who staked a strong claim to being Europe’s most macho man by cutting off his own head in 1995. Azninski, 30, had been drinking with friends when it was suggested they strip naked and play some “men’s games”. Initially they hit each other over the head with frozen turnips, but then one man upped the ante by seizing a chainsaw and cutting off the end of his foot. Not to be outdone, Azninski grabbed the saw and, shouting “Watch this then,” he swung at his own head and chopped it off. “It’s funny,” said one companion, “when he was young he put on his sister’s underwear. But he died like a man.”

Too good not to be true.

Some White Russian history…..at the Yalta conference in 1945, Churchill and Roosevelt agreed to Stalin’s demand that the White Russians living in central and eastern Europe, most of whom had left Russia after the whites were defeated by the Red Army in 1920, be forcibly repatriated back to the Soviet Union. Most of these White Russians were Cossacks, ethnic Russians and Ukrainians, they numbered over 100,000 and many had fought for Hitler against the Soviet Union and allies and yes many were involved in atrocities and war crimes, there were numerous Cossack SS squads…and this probably helps to explain why the British and Americans agreed to Stalin’s demand. However, it wasn’t just the fighting men who were repatriated, men (including Orthodox and eastern rite Catholic priests), women and children, all of whom had been living in Central and Eastern Europe for over twenty years and many of whom had never set foot in the Soviet Union, were forcibly put on trains and repatriated. Once in the Soviet Union, Stalin had the leaders and priests shot and the rest, including women and children, were sent to gulags where many died. The only country that refused to acquiesce to the Soviets and hand over the White Russians in their territory was the small principality of Liechtenstein.

Roger, it was your comment about Kerensky that reminded me of that shameful episode. Kerensky kept a low profile for two reasons…firstly, as with other post 1917 Russian emigres, he lived in fear of the Soviets, secondly he was blamed by many White Russians for what happened to the Tsar and his family (it was Kerensky who sent them to Siberia, thinking that the family would be safe in remote Siberia however once the October revolution happened, they were trapped and captured by the Ural Soviets….who murdered them).

Until Stalin died in 1953, almost all White Russians, even those living here in Oz, lived quietly and under the radar. When Stalin came to power, he organised for the infiltration of White Russian communities, even in western Europe and kidnappings of eminent White Russians (particularly former Tsarist generals who’d fought in the civil war) from cities like Berlin and Paris became common.

Until Stalin died in 1953, almost all White Russians, even those living here in Oz, lived quietly and under the radar.

I knew two White Russian families who adopted English surnames to do just that, Cassie.

In regard to Kerensky, I would think that in Brisbane it was more the White Russians he would have wanted to avoid rather than any Soviet agents. There’s no record that I can find of him giving any public speeches and and he resided in a well to do suburb on the northside far from the concentration of Russians around Wooloongabba.

An interesting bit of trivia is that both Kerensky and Lenin were born in the same city of Simbirsk, their families were friendly and Kerensky’s father taught the young Lenin.

I haven’t seen any photos or fillem of the protests in Canadia.
Reports of deaths may or may not be accurate.
But it seems the actions of RCMPlod might have been excessive, even reckless.
Maybe focus on that.
If the actions of RCMPlod could have resulted in death but didn’t just because of blind luck, isn’t that the point?
I remember an incident in Melbourne last year where VikPlod fired rubber bullets into the crowd. It was reported here that a young bloke had been hit in the head and died.
Sceptics were sceptical.
Sceptics were attacked.
My radar went off when Rukshan was there but did not stream it.
He had doubts.
A name surfaced.
I looked him up on Facebook. Two week old account. No posts except for the day of the protest.
So his “death” became a distraction from the issue of dangerous, unnecessary and excessive behaviour by VikPlod.

I thought it interesting in the use of the horses for crowd control there, they were used to make a wedge to drive the crowd back from the police, fist single then two, pushing wider as they went. Which is fine if you are stable and fleet of foot, like a normal BLM protester, not so much when you are abnormal, ordinary citizens of all walks of life, with the old and infirm standing (or in this case sitting) alongside the big and the beautiful.

4. Rose has never had a real job in her life, since leaving university she has been an ALP apparatchik, working as an “advisor” for several Labor politicians.

But when you have guys like David Sacks & Marc Andreessen lining up & donating to the Thiel group of candidates and bringing their old school liberal lefty mates along too, it should make the DNC think.

There are a lot of people in Silicon valley who are not comfortable with the social media platforms & their power.

Can those in the know inform us of the background of the NSW Lib preselection dispute.

Here’s my take:
1. Scotty intentionally fucked up the Vaxx Rollout [and likely saved a few hundred thousand lives, at least, but, hey, what’s he done lately?] so clearly he won’t do as he’s told when he wins the Election.
This has been known since the middle of last year.
2. Alex Hawke is Scotty’s man on the Preselections and without him there isn’t a quorum.
It appears that Sussan Ley, Zimmerman, and a few other were going to knife Scotty so he told Hawke to stay away from the meetings to use the sitting member Preselections as a weapon to get Federal control of the branch.
3. So the deal was done, the preselections went through and Scotty’s men get what they wanted, candidates who are actually a realistic chance of winning the seats such as Warringah.

Is it possible that democratic folks are attempting to undo Photios?

Photios is the reason the Liberal Party is still in the game.
If it was possible to win a seat in Federal Parliament running as a Conservative, someone mighta tried it sometime in the last 121 years.

So why did Scotty publicly call on Gladys Berejiklian to run in Warringah?
Because he suspected she was going to make a late run anyway and he wanted to flush her out early.
It worked.
There’s your reason why Van Onselen was gifted those text messages.

12/12/2014
The leader of that party does what he wants, when he wants, and no one dares question him. Would a Prime Minister Trudeau arbitrarily whip the vote and outlaw certain moral questions? Could Prime Minister Trudeau be trusted to make decisions for the good of the country, not just for his personal self-worth? Would Trudeau call in the police to enforce his vision? But Thiel knows that if you want your libertarian candidates up, you need the Trump army to not feel like their candidate has been binned for no good reason.
So all of Thiel’s candidates have gone to Mar-a-Lago & bent the knee & had the photo taken.

So it’s an alliance of mutual convenience.

I didn’t know the Caspian Sea was essentially landlocked. Also interesting is the definition if it’s a lake or part of the sea is important. If it’s defined as a sea then the law of the sea takes prominence.

Yes, as was the Aral Sea, now almost destroyed by Soviet agriculture. I think, strictly speaking, they’re lakes.

As Joe Aston pointed out a couple of months ago, there’s a high correlation of wearing Hamptons wear for a photo spread & then losing your job within a fortnight.

Correlation is not causation.

Well, look, I can point to some individual Presbyterians are very, very ordinary people.
Criminals even.
Probably hundreds, even thousands of them.
But I don’t ascribe their worst attributes to each and every Presbyterian.
Because that would make me look like a bigoted bitter old crone who thinks she is above others because she managed to get up the duff three or four times and her spawn also managed to split into several other amoebic life-forms.

‘Three people went to hospital after protest and were treated for minor injuries’ doesn’t quite have the same ring to it as ‘old woman trampled to death by police horse’ I suppose.

The police also claimed that a bicycle had been thrown under the legs of a police horse to injure it. Not true. Shades of the infamous “punch” to a police horse from the Sydney protests, same sort of outright lie. The only wheeled object was the overturned mobility scooter of the old woman, who is apparently a native elder by the way.

If the other fellow under the hind hoofs of the police horse escaped with “minor injuries” he was indeed fortunate. While a horse will instinctively attempt to avoid trampling, those horses are large and heavy and appear to be shod, so any contact, from a misstep or however fleeting, will cause an injury. I’ve been down under and around the hind feet of a spooked horse, and it’s no place to be – even accidentally.

They appear to be at least Clydesdale cross horses, so are likely to weigh at least around 750kg, three quarters of a ton. I’ve been around a similar police horse here in Australia, and they’re literally formidable. Even the best-trained horse can become unpredictable in a crowd, and with a rider who might be in a heightened state of anxiety or aggravation due to the situation.

If you think it’s reasonable for police to ride such an animal into a crowd on foot, pushing through regardless of who is in the way, (and then tell lies to the public afterwards) then perhaps you might apply to Trudope’s political party for membership. Sounds like you’d fit right in.

Speaking of which, I’ve just blundered onto some videos of Jimmy Savile – among the ones containing ample footage of him groping schoolgirls’ behinds is an interview with that silver helmet headed imbecile, Farkinson.

Remember – the only one who ever called Savile out was Johnny Lydon.
