And lacking in enterprise. These days women could fart in jars and sell them on e-bay – every other body function seems to have a market of freaks. If she spent the money in part on her boyfriend every poot, peep, and blaaarp would be as welcomed into the world as a newborn. I see their ABC are having a go at the French for wanting their country to themselves at the expense of immigrants. The surprising part about the story is that the youth are starting to take up the movement rather than the usual lefty issues of climate change and gender issues. They even identify and vilify a young woman not afraid to speak out. She says the streets are no longer safe for white women. Thanks to the ABC for telling me she has a Youtube channel. I will check out what she has to say. Maybe the tide is turning.

I’m not sure where the author gets the notion of ‘special circumstances’ from. The Presidential Succession Act is a federal statute. Obama isn’t in the line of succession.

From CL in response to me. So, yes, my point was if they can do it for the Vice Presidency they can surely also do it for the Presidency. It all pre-supposes, as I said, that the Rule of Law, i.e. the Presidential Succession Act, can be dismissed or subverted in some way, for either the Vice-Presidency or even the Presidency. I wouldn’t put it past them that they think they can deem that the rules of appointment evade the notion of ‘election to’ the position if they can somehow make Obama VP. After thinking that way, evading the rules re the VP, it struct me that maybe they could even use the same ‘excuse’ of ‘difficul times’ to directly appoint Obama to the Presidency.

The future of such shennagins is in the hands of the Supreme Court, n’est-ce pas?
They don’t exactly have a stellar track record in being firm on electoral procedural matters.

Yes, the sexes. Apart from anything to do with genitalia – which, after all, is not what one first finds attractive about anyone else – there is also such a thing as a female brain. Quite distinct. And a male brain, too, I think. Marvellous

There is also the chromosomal biology. Women are xx and men are xy. The gender benders use the fact that there are occasional mistakes in mitosis and meiosis, where chromosomal elements attach where they should not during the cellular reproductive process of creating a human zygote, to argue that chromosomes are irrelevant. Similarly they argue that people who are biologically intersex in genitalia indicate that more than two ‘sexes’ exist. Biological mistakes in copying chromosomes and in embryological development do not constitute a whole other world. They are simply rare mistakes.

Human men and women are the two forms of a species with sexual reproduction, as seen in most of the animal kingdom, producing two sexes with different urges and behaviours. That’s us. Men and women. Those differences may be smoothed away or overlooked in much of today’s ‘equality’ drive, but they are still present, still real, still affect human behaviour and will always mould human cultural forms. Those who claim otherwise are nuts. Good article on this in Quadrant Online, which I linked to before.

When you get into the guts of the ABC story on refugees living in hotel rooms – about FORTY families have been living in hotel rooms for more then six weeks….words fail me, they honestly do..

Some refugee families have been living in Perth hotels for more than six weeks as they struggle to find a home in an extremely competitive rental market, support workers say.

The ABC understands about 40 families, mostly from Afghanistan, are living in hotel rooms in the city.

A shortage of housing, inflated rental prices, prejudice among landlords and a lack of rental history are among the disadvantages faced by refugees seeking a place to call home, according to support workers.

“There’s an incredible amount of mental distress when people don’t have safe, secure housing for themselves and for their families,” Centre for Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees acting general manager Esther Deng said.

Call me parochial, but why are we bringing in refugees by the thousands in the midst of a rental affordability crisis? Iirc the swags were sewn by prison inmates, and very well done too. The thought of people in this country sleeping rough for lack of an alternative* is something I find intolerable. At least those swags provided some protection from the elements and vermin.

That’s what I thought too. We had a couple of almost unused camping swags which I later donated to a group who had provided food and a place to meet, but no accommodation, for my son when he was living on the streets, of his own choice because he was mentally ill and beyond our reach at that time. Good on you for supporting a proper scheme to offer at least this level of private help.

I found too, although this organisation accepted the swags I had, that sometimes the ‘helpers’ wouldn’t take anything but things they considered ‘ideal’. They didn’t really approve of swags, seeing them as too temporary and readily stolen. At one stage in this awful saga, my son was offered a one room high-rise housing commission flat but his ‘helper’ in this organisation said no, he’s better off on the streets than in what she called ‘suicide towers’. I disagreed. There were rats where he was sleeping rough which he continued to do for many more months.
It broke my heart.

Mission Australia were very good though with their ‘half-way’ accommodation apartments, offering accommodation and other services, including psychiatric care. The one my son was in was developed as an initiative of John Howard with much corporate sponsorship. We were finally able to reach out to him there. Yet the left are often scornful of such private charitable initiatives.

Big Govt must do it all, with their usual success rate/sarc off.

No idea, Bespoke. The 350 isn’t fast off the mark, but if you want to pass a truck on a single-lane highway, bang! and its in the rearview mirror.

This particular 350 has an interesting history, sold new to the Embassy of Bhutan as the ambassador’s vehicle, then passed to a Toorak lady interior designer, who gave it the infamous ‘green piss plates’ it now bears — so called because the old lags who made the plates in those days used to have a squirt in the paint hopper, which didn’t encourage the paint to stick. After that it belonged to a Williamstown lawyer’s wife, who went blind and left it sitting on blocks for eight years until, eventually, her son sold it to me so he could park his jet ski in its place.

Just a note. We offered this son private accommodation of several sorts, some which we owned, and some assisted rentals (where previously when he was working he had always simply run through the bond, neglecting to pay any rent), but he always refused our help, living in his own nightmare world at that time. Only later did he come home for a while, start to hug me, and get stable accommodation.

“Apparently, the seat on the board comes with conditions .. hands off the rest of the stock for 2 years ..!”

Owning 9% of the stock gives you tremendous leverage on the board members, because most of what they “earn” are options on stock and bonuses based on stock price (capital gains tax is much lower than personal income tax). What would happen to Twitter stock price if Elon sold and made that public? It would lose everything it gained when he announced he had bought in, and probably more.

How do you think Blackrock and other institutional investment funds make companies like Disney do what they want? The exact same way! That’s why Disney is so stupidly woke – the employees have nothing to do with it.

Glad we are going to be out of the country for this election. We had a party in 2019 where Cats attended and all was gloom until suddenly it wasn’t. That was a great boost for all. Then of course Abbott did nothing for the next six months and then appointed Natasha the Despoiler to a top job.
This time it may be impossible for the Libs to create a miracle.

…the pompous, Guardian reading fart, who a few weeks ago over a work lunch tried to bring Tony Abbott into a conversation that had nothing to do with Tony Abbott,

George Orwell has some good lines about cranks collected here.

“Socialism,” George Orwell famously wrote in The Road to Wigan Pier (1936), draws towards it ”with magnetic force every fruit-juice drinker, nudist, sandal-wearer, sex-maniac, Quaker, ‘Nature Cure’ quack, pacifist and feminist in England.” His tirade against such “cranks” is memorably extended in other passages of the book to include “vegetarians with wilting beards,” the “outer-suburban creeping Jesus” eager to begin his yoga exercises, and ”that dreary tribe of high-minded women and sandal-wearers and bearded fruit-juice drinkers who come flocking towards the smell of ‘progress’ like bluebottles to a dead cat.”

The point being, perhaps to drop his name into things apropos of nothing in particular and then point out of few of his quotes while suggesting that he was referencing the Guardian (small lies don’t matter after all). The obvious conclusion being that the Guardian has been a punchline since Orwell’s times at least.

Probably better to bite your tongue though.

CW McCall obituary
Advertising executive turned country singer who had an unexpected Seventies chart hit with the trucking anthem Convoy

“Breaker one-nine, this here’s the Rubber Duck, you gotta copy on me, Pig Pen, c’mon?” has to be one of the strangest opening lines to a pop song ever written.

The lyrics went on to describe “smokies is thick as bugs on a bumper” and a “bear in the air” in language that was incomprehensible to anyone unfamiliar with the citizens’ band (CB) radio slang used by long-distance truckers to communicate with each other as they drove America’s interstate highways in their 18-wheelers. Yet that did not prevent the song from selling more than 20 million copies and topping charts around the world, or Sam Peckinpah from turning it into a film starring Kris Kristofferson as Rubber Duck.

The song and the film were titled Convoy, and the idea for it came to the singer, CW McCall, one day in his Jeep when he tuned in by accident to the truckers’ short-range radio chatter.

“They were forming convoys and they were talking to each other on CB radios. They had a wonderful jargon. It sounded like a war going on out there,” he recalled. At the time he was in his fifties and had no background as a performer. His name was not even McCall and he was working as an advertising executive.

Lastly, given the number of troops UKR had in the south this was never going to be minor .

The south, like Kiev, was not anticipated, although it should have been given Putin’s track record and his propensity to take risks.

By “minor incursion” was clearly meant a “readjustment” of the border in the east to accomodate Russian speakers in the separatist republics recently recognised by Putin, which would be tolerated by Western powers, albeit with the usual sanctions.

Be that as it may, unless Western powers really do want to walk into a war with Russia, they need to offer Putin an out, convince Zelensky of that and also somehow neutralise the neo-Nazi influence in Ukrainian politics, which is the biggest obstacle to a peace settlement. Raising the tone of the rhetoric, including talk of a war crimes prosecution before investigations have even been completed, is distinctly unhelpful at this stage.

Struth, the CCP were onto digital surveillance long before the pandemic with their social credit systems and also the digital world was intruding into the West with the constant public CCT camera presence and movements away from cash. Blockchain, btw, is in its infancy and has a long way to go before it is a world fiat currency, and it has other aspects to its use, if you’ve ever read any of Sinc’s work on it. I did try to struggle through a couple of his lectures. The Soros, Agenda 21 and and One World Government stuff has also been around for a while.

Yes, these are all aspects of the world political scene that digitisation has unleashed. You, by chosing only the vaxx and its use of digital recognitions, have been thumping just one tub, and probably the one least likely to convince people, because they were terrified (some of them justifiably) about a disease. Don’t try to play the solitary hero who has had his finger in the political dyke holding back the flood of disaster until everyone else joins you. Instead, you could reflect more upon the nuisance you have caused here with accusations about good people who simply don’t agree with you on your one fixated issue, which is only part of a much wider problem, and not one to be best tackled your way.

A long-standing feud between missing man Paddy Moriarty and his neighbour was likely the cause of his disappearance, the Northern Territory coroner concluded at an inquest today.

Mr Moriarty, 70, and his dog Kellie went missing from the tiny town of Larrimah, 500km south of Darwin, on December 16, 2017. Despite an extensive search, his body has not been found.

Coroner Greg Cavanagh confirmed police suspicions that Mr Moriarty was dead and had likely been the victim of foul play.

Going to demonstrations against mandatory vaxxes and insane lockdowns has been one very useful thing that many others have done; that has created worldwide attention to political digital surveillance and political over-reach in Australia. Even a Convoy at the right time and place makes a pretty good point, as with the Canadian truckies.

Only 16 months on the job with a compliant media.

Sarah Sanders did the job with the most brutal press attacks for 2 years.

Not with the likes of you as my fellow countrymen.

Going to demonstrations against mandatory vaxxes and insane lockdowns has been one very useful thing that many others have done;

They haven’t been useful at all, because too many took the vax and are participating in a segregated society of good nazis and the new Jews.
Virtue signalling can be done on the right side of politics as well.
However, get your jab, have your boosters….as long as I’ve posted a few things that show just how utterly fucked in the head you’d have to be to take them, my conscience is clear.
But excuse me if I DARE criticise the participation in a segregated society and surrender to tyranny, especially to just go on holidays.
It’s not just me at all.
There are millions of Australians like me.
Millions.

It’s disgusting.
Your behaviour is disgusting.
You want tot stick your finger up at millions of Australians, Nurses doctors, good cops, the lot, go on holidays using your Nazi pass, and then get all put out because someone points it out to you.

Disgusting.

Left Fox, became press secretary, diagnosed with cancer, brown bread.

Err… you did say it was gonna kill us all, didn’t you? Or at least a large proportion of us. In 2-4 years, IIRC. Which sounds like a medical prediction to me (and I did include “prediction” in that too, you’ll note).

Allow me to correct you.
It was a definitive “all the jabbed will die”, not a “large proportion”.
And the timeline was “within 18 months to four years”, from October 2021.
Which means Tobin Brothers are going to be working three shifts from April 2023 to October 2025.

Ranga… Digger, Moronson has been an excellent PM for the times.

I am in the fortunate position to sit back and see the results as they unfold and knowing that I haven’t bailed on the country for unjustified personal reasons.

What ever he has dished up will be quantum’s better than the alternative. Talking rubbish will not change that. You will regret your actions at this election and any number of profanities won’t change that either.

No matter what you think, Morrison got us through the pandemic in the best position of any comparable country…. Bar none. His defence actions have been the best of any Prime Minister in Australia’s history… Bar none. Ably helped by arguably the best Defence Minister in our history.

Seems there are a few miserable sods here who really resent someone taking a holiday.
Tough titty. Put up with it.

Not me. I’m worried about who will supervise the bathroom renovations.

I am more worried about how they will fare with my eldest son living there to mind the cat, as household neglect is his forte. I’m also more worried about the cat, as Attapuss is not fond of males in the house after the repeated influx in the past two years of noisy renovating tradies. Indeed, he barely tolerates the male who lives with me. You should hear the fuss Fatso creates when My Dear One and I have a tender en passant hug-and-kiss together while cooking our dinner. What about meeee, he screetches. Meeeeeow. Jealous, much, we say as we laugh at him. I pick him up for a cuddle and he purrs.

You are in for a bad four weeks, I murmur then to a happy cat, but needs must. Eldest son needs a break and where better, he suggests, than with all the comforts of home.

Could we get him to come over here for a few weeks as a state or territory premier?

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott says he will be be bussing thousands of illegal migrants who cross the border straight to Washington DC and leaving them on the steps of the US Capitol for President Biden to deal with.

Announcing the new plan at a press conference Wednesday, the GOP governor said: ‘To help local officials whose communities are being overwhelmed by hordes of illegal immigrants who are being dropped off by the Biden administration, Texas is providing charter buses to send these illegal immigrants who’ve been dropped off by the Biden administration to Washington DC.

‘We are sending them to the US capital where the Biden admin will be more immediately able to address the needs of the people who come across our border.’

Abbott said the plan was to drop migrants off at the steps of the US Capitol building itself, and added: ‘The Biden administration, they’ve been dumping large numbers of migrants, on cities up and down the border, leaving cities to grapple with challenges they don’t have the capability of dealing with.

‘They themselves have been putting these migrants on buses to san Antonio. So I said, “I’ve got a better idea, instead of bussing these people to san Antonio, lets continue the ride all the way to Washington DC.”

Asked how many buses might be deployed for the scheme, chief of Texas’s Division of Emergency Management Nim Kidd said they’d deploy as many as needed – and cited the 900 previously called in to help tackled previous disasters.

Labor will institute a quick trot to Net Zero. After six years of it there won’t be much left, and the Libs, as usual will be called in to fix it (with some baseload power this time), just as the Chinese make their move on Taiwan.

And, as Cats know, you shouldn’t be in the business of making predictions, but I predict (!!!):

Nationalisation of Early Childhood/Daycare: A Labor gubberment can’t but help get kids into school earlier so they can be taught to redetermine their gender, learn to speak Whadjuk and get anxiety about climate crap. The Left have learned that “education is their friend” since its a leftist stack.

Partial “Nationalisation” of Aged Care: Sure, NFP’s will continue their work but forcing a nurse into every single fucking aged care scenario (and periphery) will drive many NFPs to the wall who already operate on wafer thin budgets. Watch for much greater regulation in this space and then more Federal funding and greater control of NFP space.

-A Carbon Tax (by fiat): It won’t be named a “Carbon Tax” but Albo will albsolutely forced into adopting much higher emissions reductions. It won’t be called a “breathing tax” – it’ll be something like: Carbon Reduction Australia Program…

Rant out (I’m worried I’m beginning to sound like USSR) :O

The Mayor of Mariupol puts the number of civilians killed there at more than 5,000 as of Wednesday, reports the ABC.

The UN Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner says 1,563 Ukrainians have been killed in the entire war so far

..
From your link:

OHCHR believes that the actual figures are considerably higher, as the receipt of information from some locations where intense hostilities have been going on has been delayed and many reports are still pending corroboration. This concerns, for example, Mariupol and Volnovakha (Donetsk region), Izium (Kharkiv region), Popasna (Luhansk region), and Borodianka (Kyiv region), where there are allegations of numerous civilian casualties. These figures are being further corroborated and are not included in the above statistics.

I’m not arguing with the post, but it’s very important to be accurate. Otherwise it draws the tag of Fake, and can be easily dispensed with.

I’m struggling to see “health” good/“biosecurity” bad. What is interesting is the invocation of an international treaty to control the vaxxination status outbound citizens, rather than individual states controlling the inbound.
