We are all going to finally hear Sancho’s opinion on things.

No.
I think there is confusion between “retainer” and “service level agreements”.
Quite a few large companies might have SLAs with legal firms, usually for routine stuff.

Yes, which is a fee agreement essentially, right?

Sometimes the general retainer is just a framework and some specific process has to be followed for each and every instruction. But a general retainer letter is absolutely commonplace.

Correct.
Which is what I would call an SLA.
I doubt an individual would have a law firm on speed-dial.
Except Fat Cloive.

3rd shit shot today in McClown paradise.
That or become unemployed and effectively unemployable in both my major qualifications as well as homeless with a wife and kid to support.

But hey, no coercion!
Because that would be illegal.

Lady doing the jab didnt much like my past history of reactions to the shot, but didnt hesitate in deploying “maybe it was an allergic reaction to something else” when I described the shingles like rash and BP spikes.
Seemed a little deflated when I told her not to talk such rot, a person having no previous instances of a condition developing it shortly after exposure to a new substance, twice, would indicate the substance was the trigger.
To her credit she didnt wriggle the needle or aspirate some air after I gave her the serve.

Oh and if my BP spikes again I should go see a doctor.
Pity its only 500km to the nearest one.

Tim

What I’m talking about is something different. I understand a retainer to be a regular fee if there’s work or not.

I think you’re describing an understanding of what the fee will be and then if there is work to be done the fee for the work will be paid regularly.

WA Health launches school holiday COVID-19 vaccination blitz as state records 6,566 new cases

Pop-up clinics offering face painting and various entertainment will be set up across Perth, including at Kings Park, Bibra Lake, Whiteman Park, the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, Mundaring Sculpture Park and Perth Zoo, where every child vaccinated will receive a free, three-year pass.
Ms Sanderson said the state government wanted to make the school holiday vaccination program as fun and easy as possible for children.

“The vaccine is safe and it is the most important way that we can lower that transmission in schools and stop our kids from getting sick with COVID,” Ms Sanderson said.

“We know that the unvaccinated are making up a third of our hospitalisations.

“To my knowledge, there are no children in ICU and I couldn’t give you the exact percentage of children in hospital, but they are making up a significant portion of the hospitalisations.”

Still we are lucky that our manly jawed Libs will take a stand against this creepy uncle behaviour!
The state opposition has called for an education campaign on vaccine safety and efficacy to lift vaccination rates among young children.

“The government needs to do more to reassure parents about the safety of the vaccine,” WA Liberals leader David Honey said.

“Quite clearly, a lot of parents who are vaccinated themselves are hesitant to get their children vaccinated.”

Not really. The earlier link commented that they had been brought back into service, and showed video of the things allegedly being transported in Belarus in late March in support. Not that they arrived on that date.

Thank you for that Eyrie.
And the comments below are quite worth the read.

I mean, I feel I’m being nicer than I should be.
And he didn’t even lose work! And lives in the Land of the free!

Here’s a snippet of that I found interesting.

Forgive? You have not a prayer in Hell of that from me, seeing as there has been no admission you were full of ****, no compensation for the harm you imposed and absolutely no legal or other changes have been made that lead me to believe you won’t try to do it again. Indeed the very acts all have engaged in — the mandates were “suspended” instead of being revoked, not one person screwed with or fired was given all their back pay and benefits and the only “apology” that means anything in such a context is one denominated in dollars, and a significantly-larger number of them than you screwed others out of it is quite-clear that you not only don’t think you did anything wrong you intend to do it again should it strike your fancy.

I’d rather see every single person who was involved in this abuse — which means nearly all employers, politicians and so-called “medical personnel” dead.

Indeed my new definition of “RIP” is REST IN PISS.

The only reason I would not run any of these people’s asses over with my car were such an act not going to lead to me being charged with murder is that it would damage the car. And remember, I’m one of the lesser impacted people in this regard since I had no job with a boss screaming at me to take a jab or wear a mask while doing my work. I just had to put up with all of the dick-headed people’s bull**** at the local watering hole, grocery store or when contemplating whether to travel somewhere.

Sure, there are those who were not only ok with all of this but in addition scared out of their wits. Those who were in that situation and volunteered might even be on the other side cheering on all the *******s. So be it; those people have earned permanent “rock” status with me since without their active involvement and consent exactly zero of this crap would have been able to be sustained for more than a day — and everyone knows it. If the answer to “wear a mask” back in the early months of 2020 was **** you, fire me if you wish there would have been zero mask mandates anywhere. If the answer to “take a jab” in the spring and summer of 2021 was **** you, fire me if you wish but I’m not disclosing anything when it comes to whether I decided to take it or not there would have been zero jab mandates.

Have you posted the reference to the USN carrier off the coast of China as the Pearl Harbor attack went in yet? Military historians around the world wait with bated breath.

PS, those “obsolete Battleships” fired the last rounds ever in a clash of battleships, at Surigao Strait in October 1944. They won, the Japanese force was destroyed. All part of the cunning plan.

PPS, operational orders are not transmitted in diplomatic codes (or even ciphers). The Japanese Navy operational cipher, JN-25, would have been used, but all the planning was done under radio silence.

Pearl Harbor, the Americans knew it was coming, since they’d broken the Japanese Diplomatic Codes.
Sure, they moved the 4 Carrier Groups outta the road, but left the obsolete Battleships to be junked, along with 3,000 Sailors.

The Americans were reading the Japanese diplomatic ciphers – a cipher is as different from a code as a soldier is from a Marine – and knew that war was imminent, but believed the Japanese would strike South, against the British and Dutch – the oil of the Netherlands East Indies was their primary war aim – and against the Philippines.

American war plans called for the carrier forces to raid Japanese bases in the Pacific Islands, while the battleship fleet sallied forth, with the aim of fighting the decisive naval battles – along the lines of Jutland – in the Central Pacific, a few months after the outbreak of war.

while the battleship fleet sallied forth, with the aim of fighting the decisive naval battles – along the lines of Jutland – in the Central Pacific, a few months after the outbreak of war.

The eventual battleship engagement at Surigao Strait was a sideshow to Leyte Gulf. Had Halsey followed orders and left TF-34 to cover San Bernadino Strait, the resulting clash between the new, fast USN battleships and the Japanese force led by Yamato, with the biggest guns of any battleship in the world, would have been spectacular, but not decisive, as the IJN was pretty much ruined by then.

By sinking the slow battleships at Pearl Harbor, the Japanese forced the more conservative among the US admirals to use what they had available, the aircraft carriers. The US was in a far better position to expand its carrier forces than Japan was.

This included her decision to cross the floor over an amendment to the sex discrimination act and her advocacy of net-zero admissions, she told the paper.

“The far right of our party might not like what I’ve done, but I’ve worked to be representative of the people of Reid,” Dr Martin said.”

LOL….oh yes, Martin’s a fool. And I just love her words “far right”, which shows she’s getting desperate. And she calls herself a Liberal! She either doesn’t know her electorate or she’s dismissive of her electorate because the electorate of Reid isn’t Wentworth nor is it North Sydney or Warringah, it’s demographics are completely different, more mainstream Australia, it has a lot of Asians, many of whom are conservative (and Christian) and there’s a high proportion of Muslims in suburbs like Auburn. It isn’t a “progressive” electorate, it’s a conservative electorate.

Edward R Miller’s book “War Plan Orange” – required reading, for my money – makes the point that, by 1941, the relief of the Philippine Islands – deemed almost certain to fall to Japan – was no longer the primary aim of the United States in the opening stages of any Pacific War – a fact, which a certain General MacArthur – former head of the United States Army – should have been well aware.

Well, it has to be late March as the tweets in the article seem be March 30, so give them a week, earliest March 23, still a fortnight between claims and the later tweeted photos…

Clumsily written by me.
The first article simply claimed that the missiles were back in service – and presented video in support. The piece didn’t claim any date for the reintroduction.

As such it doesn’t address, far less discount, the possibility of the missiles being in use well before March 30.

As for the provenance of the missile parts, they could indeed be fired from Ukraine for all I know. I’m relying on Jane’s positive reference for CIT to support its opinion that Russian forces have fielded them and may have used them at Mariupol.

The reality seems to be the things are available on both sides of the conflict.

Beyond that, less clarity…

Why shouldn’t super funds which get the multi-billion dollar benefit every year of compulsory super be required to invest some part of that money into Australian jobs and development?

I’m thinking that if this proposal starts to look like a winner, the Uniparty will just demand a 10% Superannuation Fund Infrastructure Bond being made compulsory on the industry.

JC, I’m not sure you understand quite how deep woke agendas are now permeating through large companies and corporations. The left must politicise everything, including children. In many large corporations today, senior management is beholden to woke agendas that are proselytised and pushed by middle management, particularly those in the company/corporation’s marketing, advertising and HR departments…or if senior management isn’t “beholden”…..they often don’t often know what’s happening under their management. We’ve seen this happen in this country with the targeting of companies who advertise on conservative media like Sky News Oz and Radio 2GB. Sleeping Midgets and other activist organisations target the advertising/marketing departments by bombarding them with emails/tweets….often scaring the company by saying that they’re advertising on media that’s racist/far right etc. etc. It’s only ever a few activists but management and companies are easily intimidated. It’s plain old fashioned cowardice….they cave/capitulate to woke bullying. Disney has done this and so Disney deserves to die.

To increase their ESG score. Scores of filters cull stocks with low ESG scores. The execs use any tool to improve their share prices.

For others ESG is Environment Social Governance

Sure, but investors also cull stocks which show bad revenue lines and net income. Disappoint on either and your stock is down ~20% in the first hour’s trading. ESG isn’t going to help then.

Lucky theres no coercion allowed in health eh Pete?

Since coercing people into medical treatments is against the law and forms grounds for a charge of assault.

Ahem.
https://www.healthywa.wa.gov.au/~/media/Files/Corporate/Policy%20Frameworks/Clinical%20Governance%20Safety%20and%20Quality/Policy/WA%20Health%20Consent%20to%20Treatment%20Policy/Supporting/WA-Health-Consent-to-Treatment-Policy.pdf
Compliance with the policy is mandatory. WA Health hospitals/health services must adopt
and follow this policy in toto OR develop local operational policies which are wholly aligned
with the principles of consent set out in this policy. This applies to all treatment, whether
mentioned specifically in this policy or not.

….
1.3 Principles
The policy is guided by key two legal principles which underpin consent:
* Patients have the right of autonomy or self-determination, recognised at law.
* This has been described as the “right of every human being of adult years and sound mind
to determine what shall be done with his own body
”.2
* The provision of medical treatment without patient consent exposes health professionals
to risks of legal claims including trespass to the person (assault and battery) and/or
negligence (failure to inform), except in cases where the law permits or requires treatment
without consent.

….
Consent will be valid if it is:
* voluntary – the decision to either consent or not to consent to the proposed treatment
must be made by the patient themselves,
and must not be unduly influenced by health
professionals, friends or family

* informed – the patient must receive sufficient information about the proposed treatment to
enable them to make an informed decision
* given by a patient who has capacity (see Glossary) to understand the information
presented to them and to make a decision. Capacity may be diminished by illness, age,
medication, drugs and alcohol (amongst other things)
* current – consent must be reviewed if, after consent was obtained, the patient’s
circumstances (including treatment options and risks) have changed

thefrollickingmole
April 9, 2022 6:26 pm

A little more.

Worth mentioning no attempt was made to inquire about consent at todays jab…

There are two legal principles relevant to informed consent:
1. Firstly, consent must be obtained in order to avoid a legal claim for trespass to the person
(in assault, battery or false imprisonment). This requires the health professional to explain
in broad terms the proposed treatment or procedure to the patient.
2. Secondly, health professionals must warn patients of the material risks of the proposed
treatment/s, so that they can make informed decisions about associated risks and
whether they wish to proceed.
Providing sufficient information to the patient will negate a
claim in negligence for failure to warn.

The other point about any battleship being “obsolete” in WWII is rather, in fact, pointless.

WWII was a naval gun war in many ways. If you need floating artillery then a battleship is a good way to go. For example D-Day was preceded by massive naval bombardments – without them then the invasion would have been much more dangerous to undertake.

Similarly in the Pacific taking an island was necessarily commenced with a naval arty bombardment. Having big gun ships meant they could be out of the range of any shore arty. So battleships are better than cruisers.

Following WWII battleships did become rather obsolete as capital ships due to the development of carriers and nuclear powered submarines – both platforms then developing to carry nuclear weapons. Even so the USN kept on a few battleships and IIRR used one in the 1990s in the Iraq war.

There is a saying in naval circles “naval gunnery never goes out of style”. It means that the ability to use the ocean as a means to get gunfire support well inland is always useful. Again without checking IIRR HMAS Anzac did some gunfire support in the second Iraq war, punching shells 70k’s inland.

Correct. The Iowas remained in service until just after 1991, having been cycled in and out of reserve status over the preceding 40-odd years as the strategic situation demanded.

They did naval gunfire support for operations in both the Korean and Vietnam wars, and were refitted as Cruise Missile carriers in the late 80s. They retained their 16″ main guns all the way through.

During one invasion (Kwajalein iirc), the gunfire support ws not silencing Japanese artillery. The TF commander gave the gunfire support commander a “Hurry up”. The gunfire commander defended himself by pointing out the risk of return fire. The TF commander responded with an order to the effect that “Your ships have armour plate fitted. Close in and silence that artillery”.

Somewhere in there was an implicit threat of relief from command.

She saw a great future for me as long as she changed how I speak.

Mrs Hayse was a horrible, cruel teacher. Forgetting one’s hanky was a crack over the knuckles with her blackboard ruler. Agony in winter. No parents allowed in her classroom, not even older siblings worried about the blackboard ruler welts on my seven year old legs. A real tyrant.

But she loved my Mother’s accent: uppity South Aussie tinged with a heavy touch of Georgette Heyer. Quite a novelty in outback, redneck Queensland. And so she enrolled me in the poetry entries for the local Eisteddfod. (Spider, spider, what are you spinning? A cloak for a fairy I’m just beginning… and so on.)

I came second – Mrs Hayse’s best performance to date. Consequently, I was never again abused by her blackboard ruler.

Dear State Secretary,
The current parliamentary term is just days off from drawing to an official end and, as such, I have fulfilled what I believed to be an ethical obligation to serve during that term as a member of the party under whose banner I was elected.
With this obligation now effectively ended, I hereby resign my membership of the Liberal National Party effective immediately.
My resignation should come as no surprise given the public disenchantment I have expressed about the party’s direction, particularly its support of a net zero target and, more so, its failure to take action against vaccine mandates and destructive pandemic policies. I could go on, but this letter is not the time and place for it.
Please know that this decision has not come easily. I have been a member of the party for almost three decades, and know that my decision will upset many, and cause the loss of existing relationships and friendships.
However, I joined the then National Party in the late 1990s because it was THE party for conservatives. In 2022, the Liberal National Party — as an extension of the Liberal Party — seems anything but conservative… and thus, it is no longer my party.
The party needs to undertake some serious soul-searching about what — and who — it stands for. If it wants to be all things to all people, including the Left, then it will do so without the support of conservative voters, and this will see it inhabiting the Opposition benches for many a moon.

Yep, however Craig Laundy is from a family well known in the Reid electorate. Laundy had a lot of faults but I suspect he knew his electorate more so than Martin.

My sister lives in the electorate, only today she was saying how she’s looking forward to running into Martin campaigning. My sister told me that she’s going to ask Martin two questions, which she’s quite certain that Martin will run away from….

Check carefully Winston. Most beer does not have an expiry date.
Usual is a brewing date, or more commonly a bottling/canning date – which can be at times be incomprehensible unless you happen to work at Bletchley Park & have a few hours spare to crack the cipher.
Sometimes a “Best Before” date (which you can ignore, as this is not the same meaning as “use by” or “expiry“)

Actually I’ll bring it across so no one can claim I’m trying to send people there
My comment and prediction.

KD and Sancho and the rest of the gang are easy to understand.
They are collectivists.
It’s a tribal thing.
They aren’t right wing at all, and once you get that, then they are easily understood.
You’ll note that I always get “put” with other people…they can’t grasp the concept that people are actually individuals.
So when they all ganged up on MV, (oddly enough I did about a certain subject too) I was challenged as to whether I agreed with a certain statement MV made.
I did agree with it and said so.
This made me one of the MV crowd, the opposing tribe.
Ex coppers keep this very tribal view of the world once they leave the force.
Everyone in their groups.
Yet I’ve agreed more with things KD has said, than MV, and had bigger Barnies with MV.

But collectivists must put you in a box and then you are the opposing side and no constructive argument or reasoning is tolerated.
They are desperately lacking in confidence.
You’ll notice I have called Sanchos out to tell us his views and opinions on the hot topics of the day he spends so much time sniping at others about while never putting his own opinion out there for criticism. Don’t hold your breath.

He will reply to me, but it will be no opinion, and all sneer, he isn’t there for the reasons the blog was created..
And not for love nor money could I get KD to denounce Sancho’s lying.

Collectivists.
And lonely men, KD’s private life seems to be up the shit.
No good woman etc.

But they are anything but right wing in nature.
They don’t recognise or understand individualism, and it scares them.
It threatens them, hence KD sees all individualists as grifters or attention seekers.
That’s my opinion for what it’s worth.

No your job is to prove they never will be prison/concentration type camps

Interestingly, I might have a chance here.

None of the Mitcham, Wellcamp or Howard Springs sites are sufficiently fortified or guarded in such a way as to stop a reasonably determined individual getting out. Or in for that matter, as this ‘incident’ we all applauded at Howard Springs demonstrates. They are, in fact utterly dependent on a de facto honour system on the part of the ‘prisoner’ to stay until their term of quarantine is completed.

Another consideration for your prison or concentration camp is location for ease of logistical access , but sufficiently remote that the average person will not have the resources to easily escape and evade. And even more so if your intention is to exterminate your inmates by direct action or outright neglect and overwork. Once again, all 3 sites are appallingly situated- They are all in easy reach of nearby towns, on access routes regularly used by the general public and near airports.

And finally, all are operating in support of coof policies already abandoned by all 3 governments. You will likely find them converted back into some for of transient workers’ accommodation in the case of Wellcamp and Howard Springs (their original intended purpose), or in Mitcham’s case, likely left to rot or be sold off to private interests.

You want to see what a proper latter-day concentration camp looks like in form, function and location, look to Chairman Dan and Sleepy Joe’s paymasters up in Xinjiang. Then compare our little glorified FIFO sites with their chain link fences, desultory attempts at razorwire on top and rent-a-cops doing the rounds every hour or so because their contract KPIs demand it.

And understand it’s not just Australians being shit. The two concepts are utterly unrelated…

The “Brothers’ House” at SPC was recently demolished. An ol’ boy*, who lives about 1 km down the road with his dear ol’ mum (from Durham) told me so. There was also a recent public apology at Homebush (of all places) for the abuse that erstwhile students were subjected to back in the day.

Razz, the SPC mould is that of Edmund Rice and the Christian Brothers, a charism originally founded on educating boys from underprivileged backgrounds, not always dispensing an easy discipline. Pell attended SPC Ballarat and he was in turn chaplain to the college as well as coach of various sports, rowing for one, maybe even football since he was a footballer once. Now while discipline in years past was in some respects harsh, it was so across the board in society at large. I had a brother who went through the state system and who was terribly abused both in his primary years and later. The times.
O tempora
O mores.
Essentially, though, Pell is of the SPC mould, a very fine mould, and in turn moulded the college – even though later collegians turned on him.
