  1. Doc Beaugan:

    I don’t travel by train, but when I drive I always assume that other drivers are either homicidal maniacs or incompetent idiots.

    Whenever I’m off for a drive to Brisbane, I make sure I spend a few hours watching Australian Dashcam That sets me up emotionally for the stupids I may encounter.

    I think my sporty Beemer has a Bing-Bong! for that.

  3. Sale at the Furniture Store.
    Lots of damaged goods.

    I like the jukebox that’s been serenading bag ladies passing by on the street with shopping trolleys full of cats.

    What is scary about that is the way you do not notice the impending accident until it is too late, but when you rewind the video and look for it, you realise you could have seen trouble brewing earlier if you knew where to look. It’s because you tend to follow the same visual scanning routine on the video as if you were really driving – just the road in front and maybe a metre either side of the kerb.
    So anything which surprises out of left field in Dashcams Australia will definitely surprise you in reality.

  6. it’s time to head for the hills, Cats

    Only if the hills have an ABN.

    The hills are alive
    With the sound of ABNs….

  7. Urrr

    The above is what we are inevitably blundering into, Cats.

    The existing in a pod, the owning of nothing, the eating of the bugs and the being happy, or else.

    The insufferable grandiosity.

    They won’t be able to help themselves. 😕

    You wouldn’t venture out otherwise.

    Golden Rules, Mottos to live by, etc …

  9. The insufferable grandiosity

    I met a traveller from an antique land,
    Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
    Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
    Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
    And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
    Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
    Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
    The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
    And on the pedestal, these words appear:
    My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
    Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
    Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
    Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
    The lone and level sands stretch far away.

    In a similar vein, though slightly different point;
    When re-watching (via cctv) a violent affray again & again, you notice things that nobody, absolutely nobody, who was present noticed, or would even believe, and still I have trouble believing certain things happened.
    Except it is right there in technicolour & motion, indisputable. Replayable.

  11. Kaboom. This scam is pure unadulterated socialism, communism, Marxism. It isn’t about “saving the planet”, it’s about depriving us of energy, food and comfort. How long before people have to queue up for food? How long before energy rationing begins?

    Hear what you are saying, but it is not pure Marxism etc. Marxism, communism and socialism at least had the objective of raising the working classes out of poverty, eventually leading to a Utopia without government as expressed in the 1844 Manuscripts. Pure crap indeed, but arguably noble crap. Remnants of this still exist within those parts of the Labor Party who claim to represent the less well off.

    Climate evangelism is a decadent upper middle class phenomenon, a luxury belief which replaces the religious beliefs that this class previously held, along with the redemption promised to believers. As before, missionaries are sent out to convert the unbelievers (funded by those who stand to profit from such).

    Rich people don’t generally carry much debt. In any event, rental income is business income and therefore like all commercial endeavors , people can charge interest on debt against income to reduce tax. This principle is so strong that being against it is a distinguishing feature between Right and left.

    Given that every member of the AnAl Cabinet has at least one, and some up to three, investment properties, I suspect that negative gearing will continue.
