Trouble in paradise? This from the Sydney Morning Herald:

Leaked email reveals Greens staffer ‘scared and in shock’ after Lidia Thorpe’s ‘truly awful’ outburst

By Lisa Visentin

Greens senator Lidia Thorpe’s former chief-of-staff says he was scared and appalled by her outburst in a meeting with two Indigenous community leaders at Parliament House last year, calling her behaviour among the most unprofessional conduct he has ever witnessed.

The claims by Thorpe’s ex-top adviser reinforce the account of the meeting by Aboriginal elder Aunty Geraldine Atkinson, aged in her 70s, who has previously alleged the tirade of abuse levelled at her by the senator distressed her so much she sought medical attention from the parliamentary nurse.

David Mejia-Canales, who resigned from Thorpe’s office in June, accompanied the senator to the meeting with Atkinson and Marcus Stewart, the co-chairs of the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, and their policy adviser Nicole Schlesinger, to discuss the state’s treaty process in a committee room in Parliament House, Canberra on June 22, 2021.

His account of what happened, and his efforts to inform the Greens’ leadership of Thorpe’s “appalling conduct”, are detailed in an apology emailed from his Parliament House address to Atkinson and Stewart in June, one year after the meeting, as one of his final acts before leaving the senator’s office.

In the email, a copy of which has been obtained by The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, Mejia-Canales said he still did not know why Thorpe had agreed to the meeting only to proceed “to behave so badly”.

“Since that meeting, I have wanted to reach out to you to apologise because the conduct that I witnessed at that meeting was by far one of the most unprofessional displays I have ever seen, not just during the length of my career, but in my life,” the email, sent to Atkinson and Marcus Stewart on June 21, 2022, stated.

He described his shock at how the meeting “went so wrong and so quickly”, and said his “biggest regret” was not ending the meeting sooner. He said he ended the meeting by getting a colleague to call the room’s phone.

“I hope that you can understand that I was scared and in shock because I have never, ever been in that situation at work,” he wrote.

“Eventually, I did discreetly text my colleagues to ask one of them to ring the committee room we were in, I then pretended that it was an urgent phone call and we needed to leave therefore cutting the meeting short.”

The claims by Mejia-Canales about Thorpe’s behaviour follow a period of scrutiny on Parliament House’s workplace culture, including the damning 2021 Jenkins report which examined bullying and sexual harassment within the building and recommended a new code of conduct for federal MPs and their staff be implemented. A special joint select committee will hold public hearings this week on a code of conduct for federal MPs and staffers.

Mejia-Canales described how he “wanted the earth to swallow me whole” as he and Thorpe exited the meeting room into a public part of Parliament House where a class “of excited school children” were waiting. He said they gave an impromptu speech welcoming the children to the building and “had to pretend as if everything was fine and normal”.

“I had just witnessed the most unprofessional conduct, and now I was staring at about 30 children who wanted to know what it’s like to work at Parliament House. It was truly awful,” he said.

Mejia-Canales does not go into detail in the email about the exact nature of Thorpe’s conduct. He declined to comment when approached by this masthead. Atkinson and Stewart, who is the partner of Jana Stewart who became a Labor senator in April this year, also declined to comment.

However, in a written complaint sent to Greens leader Adam Bandt following the meeting, Atkinson described Thorpe’s conduct as “vicious and personal” and “abusive”, and requested he take steps to ensure her complaint did not provoke further retaliation.

In a separate letter sent to then-Senate president Scott Ryan and revealed by The Age last year, Atkinson said Thorpe criticised the prominent Bamblett family, of which Atkinson is a member, saying they had “always tried to undermine her and bring her down”, and suggested Atkinson was involved in corrupt Aboriginal organisations.

“When I tried to intervene to respond, Senator Thorpe spoke over the top of me in a highly aggressive tone, repeatedly stating, ‘I am an Australian senator. You are in my meeting.’ I interpreted this as her using her position to try to intimidate me,” Atkinson said in the letter.

At the time, Thorpe described the meeting as a “robust discussion” about Victoria’s treaty program in which she raised concerns about the exclusion of some of the state’s 38 clans from the process. As recently as April this year, Thorpe described the exchange as “just a normal conversation I have in parliament every day”, saying “I did nothing wrong, so there’s no apology”.

Mejia-Canales raised the incident with Bandt’s chief-of-staff Damien Lawson, saying in the email he gave “a frank and true disclosure of what I witnessed”, but added he did not know if any action was taken.

Thorpe declined to respond directly to a series of questions from this masthead about Mejia-Canales’ account of the meeting and his characterisation of her behaviour, including whether she intended to apologise. Instead, a spokesperson for the senator repeated her view that the meeting involved a “robust discussion” about the treaty process.

“The Greens continue to work constructively with the First Peoples Assembly, particularly in the Victorian parliament as that is the jurisdiction of their work,” the spokesperson said.

“It would be inappropriate to discuss staffing matters publicly. The Greens have a strong complaints handling process, and when issues are raised, they are addressed.”

In response to written questions, Bandt declined to say why he had not contacted Atkinson directly to acknowledge her written complaints or offer an apology. Through a spokesperson, he said he discussed the matter with Thorpe but did not elaborate.

“Following correspondence from the First People’s Assembly of Victoria, Mr Bandt spoke with Senator Lidia Thorpe about the June 2021 meeting. Mr Bandt’s office also spoke with staff from Senator Thorpe’s office,” the spokesperson said.

“While we can’t comment on any individual staff complaints, we are confident that we have strong processes for addressing complaints that have been strengthened since the Jenkins Review.”

In the email, Mejia-Canales stressed that the apology was from him alone for not bringing an end to the meeting sooner, and not on behalf of Thorpe, and wished Atkinson and Stewart “nothing but my well wishes to you both”.

“This apology is from me and me alone both in my personal capacity but also as an employee, because no person should ever have to experience such appalling behaviour, let alone in their own workplace,” he said.

It’s not a flash crash of the pound, it’s a flash rise of the USD.
We’ve gone under 65c overnight.
It’s the flight to safety reflex, which is ironic since it is the US that is causing this mayhem due to Dem policies.

My guess would be that everyone expects real unrest in Europe and UK this winter so they are parking their money in the only safer place left. Frankly, I would be inclined to park my money anywhere but in Euro and the Pound.

The US did not cause the energy crisis in Europe and the UK, they did it themselves, the US followed in their footsteps but only during Democrat administrations.

I wonder if this development is also a belief by big money that Dems will be hobbled in the November elections so it’s safe to buy the dollar.

These bits here, from TE’s quoted piece:

Atkinson said Thorpe criticised the prominent Bamblett family, of which Atkinson is a member, saying they had “always tried to undermine her and bring her down”, and suggested Atkinson was involved in corrupt Aboriginal organisations.

And:

Thorpe described the meeting as a “robust discussion” about Victoria’s treaty program in which she raised concerns about the exclusion of some of the state’s 38 clans from the process.

This. This is the reason a ‘broad church’ indig Voice will fail, and it is the same reason every other national indig association with the potential to receive cash from the taxpayer (ie, ATSIC) has failed.

It is, and always has been about establishing the primacy of one skin group, or ‘clan’ over another. It is a ruthless, bloodthirsty process that makes Game of Thrones look like a Lions Club kids’ Christmas party where everyone gets a present.

UBS put out a decent note on the Inflation Reduction Act last week.
It should be called the How Much Money Can We Shovel Into Wall Street Act.
Ex the $US400bill green VC fund, the key part that Wall Street is cheering is the part where “scoped” companies will either have to choose between paying the IRS the minimum tax rate or buying assets/companies (effectively the only way around the minimum tax for “scoped” companies).

PE firms (yes the ones that don’t have to worried about the carried interest provisions being knocked on the head after the DNC took that out of the IRA) that were concerned that the secondary market for their crap drying up has just been given an structural boost.
A deep market of S&P500 companies who will happily buy marginal assets from PE firms instead of paying the tax.

Once more for the dummies…
Fascists are socialists who are nationalist rather than internationalist like the communists. They are chauvinist rather than racist, ie if you were a citizen, regardless of race, colour or creed, you had full rights.

Nazis are the racist* socialists who are also nationalist., Ie regardless of your citizenship, if your creed or ‘race’ were wrong you had no rights.

It took Mussolini 22 years to decree anti Semitic legislation, which was not enforced. That legislation was demanded by Hitler, but never really enforced. Italian Jews really only had a problem after Mussolini was deposed. Little known fact his long standing Mistress (1912-1930ish was Jewish and was generally regarded as the mother of fascism), look up Marguerite Sarfatti.

*Actually so are Marxists. A lot of Hitler’s ideas can be seen to be directly lifted from Marx’s On the Jewish Question.

With reference to the Trump tax cuts, you hear non stop about the income tax cuts benefiting high income earners the most.
High income earners did/do benefit more than low income earners.
Zero doubt.
But the biggest winners were those who sold assets & were able to defer capital gains tax for 10 years if they rolled the gains into a self-certified opportunity zone.
But the donor class ensures repealing the opportunity zone legislation is never on the agenda.

In Wholly Unexpected Consequences news:

The EV ‘social equity’ dilemma that may put apartment residents off electric cars

The Problem: The difficulty and cost of installing EV charging points in apartment buildings – or on the street, for that matter.

In fact this is the tip of the EV iceberg. In most cities, the electricity distribution system is inadequate to supply the upgraded transformers that will be required to power the chargers, that will be required to meet citizens’ expectations that their EV’s will run when required.

Naturally, this dilemma is being managed with the traditional Australian Three Tiers of Government approach:

Ed Husic’s office said the issue of retrofitting existing apartments is a question for state and territory governments.

State by state, an ad-hoc approach is emerging as the apartment conundrum continues.

Meanwhile the Albanese Government is providing on the spot guidance:

This week, the federal government is releasing a long-awaited issues paper that will outline how it plans to make EVs cheaper so more people buy them.

A hint to the nature of future solutions: Professor Cathy Sherry says ensuring apartment owners have access to EV charging is “a social equity issue”.

So, OPM, thickly distributed.

Four things need to be addressed in the US to ensure some level of equity regarding taxation.
First, carried interest needs to be addressed.
Second, there needs to be limits on the amount that can be put into opportunity zones.
Third, the capacity to run unassociated costs through sporting franchises (similar to the olden days in Oz being loose with your investment property costs).
Fourth, tightening up the laws regarding 501C3’s & 501C4’s (the US NFP sector).

To most, all these four things may as well be in another language.
Which is what the donor class wants.
Fight over income tax rates (the crumbs) while the donor class eat the benefits of society (the pie).

The comprehensive injuries inflicted on the woman by a rollercoaster at the Show are unfortunate, but this is not a ‘how could this have happened?’ moment. It’s not as though she had no idea how rollercoasters operate. She worked on one of the nearby stalls herself.

What did she think – that someone else would see it on the tracks from a following carriage, reach down and scoop it up?

I’m not sure if she made a conscious choice to turn that part of her life into a Road Runner cartoon while playing the part of Wile. E. Coyote, but that’s how it panned out.

A mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the motor of a Honda when he spotted a well-known cardiologist in his shop. The cardiologist was there waiting for the service manager to come and take a look at his car when the mechanic shouted across the garage “Hey Doc, want to take a look at this?” The cardiologist, a bit surprised, walked over to where the mechanic was working on the Honda. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked “So Doc, look at this engine. I opened its heart, took the valves out, repaired or replaced anything damaged, and then put everything back in, and when I finished, it worked just like new. So how is it that I make $24,000 a year and you make $1.7M when you and I are doing basically the same work?” The cardiologist paused, leaned over, and then whispered to the mechanic… “Try doing it with the engine running!”

The Orthodox Times reports that shortly after the recent mobilisation orders Russian Patriarch Kyrill said that Russian solders who die on the battlefield will have their sins forgiven:

“…the Church realizes that if someone, driven by a sense of duty and the need to fulfill his oath… goes to do what he is called to do and if someone dies in the performance of that duty, then he has undoubtedly committed something that amounts to a sacrifice. He will have sacrificed himself for others. And therefore, we believe that this sacrifice washes away all the sins committed by such a man.”

Fun fact, if you are an Australian & own a stake in a US sporting franchise you win two ways.
Part one, you can run unassociated costs through the franchise.
This makes the entity even more of a loss maker.
This can offset your other US taxes.
Part two, under the US/Australian tax treaties some aspects of your US investment universe can offset some aspects of your Australian investment universe.

Meaning, there could be a situation where Australian tax payers are subsidising the private jet usage that an Australian billionaire was running through the sporting franchise.

But sure, let’s argue about income tax rates here in Oz.

Britain Canceling its Outstanding Paper Money

From Martin Armstrong –

“One of the reasons why the US dollar remains the reserve currency is because it has NEVER been canceled. Europe routinely cancels coins and banknotes to prevent people from hiding cash. Britain is canceling the outstanding old paper banknotes of the 20 and 50-pound notes. They did issue polymer notes which are still valid – for now. This is how Europe will also force Digital Currency by eventually canceling all paper money forcing the underground economy to seek other methods.”

Mussolini’s mistress for many years, a fellow early fascist, was a Italian Jewish woman named Margherita Sarfatti. Margherita, even after the war, never denounced Mussolini.

The truth is that Mussolini never had any time for the German’s stupid racial laws however he ended up acquiescing to Germany and the Manifesto of Race was enacted in 1938. In a catastrophic move, he sold his soul to the devil. Why? No doubt for military help and other assistance. However, prior to 1938 the fascist government’s politics were not anti-Semitic, and fascist party membership was open to Jews, in fact many leading early fascists were Jews, because, as with Benito Mussolini himself, they had been socialists and communists. Every single original member of the Fascist Party had been a communist or socialist.

Italians are the least anti-Semitic people in Europe.

If anyone thinks my tax gripes are anti capitalist, they’re not.
The ones I’ve raised above are only accessible to the donor class.
That’s the gripe.

If you turned 20k into 500k over the past 10 years by buying Apple in your smsf & are now in pension phase, not paying tax on it, great.
More of that.
But the moat the donor class put around their stuff while the fights are over income tax rates & increasing taxes on super should be seen for what they are.

We should stop all Covid vaccinations says UK Cardiac Surgeon who once promoted them

Blockbuster Review papers like this are very useful to pass on to your doctor or officials. And until all patients get some synopsis of this or equivalent, there is no informed consent.

As Dr Aseem Malhotra says: “It’s perhaps the most important work of my career so far…”

The great thing is that he is speaking at medical conferences in the UK, and senior doctors are astonished. There is hope that things may yet improve after the worst medical experiment in history.

The figures that hit the hardest are that for the young, thousands of people need to be vaccinated to save one life, yet in the UK 1 in 120 people suffer from something defined as more than mild effects, and in Norway 1 in 1,000 end up in hospital or with “life changing” effects.

Dr Malhotra was the cardiac specialist I wrote about in November last year, who put forward the first very convincing case I had seen that not only were cardiac inflammatory risk factors doubled after vaccination (Gundry et al) would might double the risk of heart attacks, but that reports and images of cardiac damage and an increase in heart attacks in the UK were being actively suppressed for fear that the researchers would lose grant money if they published them.

Yet he had started off supporting the mRNA vaccines. In January 2021 he was one of the first to get the Pfizer vaccine in the UK, and was interviewed on Good Morning Britain to promote the vaccine. It was only after his father died unexpected from a heart attack in July 2021, with inexplicable levels of blockages, that he started to change his mind. Despite being a cardiac specialist, and yet he could not explain his fathers death. It didn’t fit the risk patterns he knew. It would take him months of investigation to “slowly and reluctantly” conclude the vaccines were “far from being safe and effective”. His father, by the way, was Dr Kailash Chand OBE, 73, and former deputy chair of the British Medical Association (BMA). He was very fit and healthy until his sudden death in the months following his second Pfizer dose.

This week Dr Malhotra has published a full review of the known risks and benefits, and the numbers are damning. Even in people in their 80s, as many as 230 people people need to be vaccinated to prevent one death — and that was with the Delta variant during 2021, when vaccines were more useful and before the Omicron variant arose to escape them. For people in their fifties, at least 2,600 of the cohort would have to vaccinated to save one life. For those in their twenties, at least 93,000 would need an injection to save one. In 2022 with Omicron, all these number would be much higher.

And this of course is not to count the risks, just the benefits.

According to UK finance those obsolete notes can ‘always be exchanged by the Bank of England or can be paid into accounts at UK banks and the Post Office’ so they won’t ever lose their face value.
The US has a lot of obsolete bank notes and coins too, still legal tender but good luck paying for your Maccas with a $100,000 dollar note.
A few years ago I gave my daughter some US coins I’d been given to take on her trip, there were a couple of US fifty cent coins, cashier didn’t believe they were real but they were, haven’t been produced since 2002 for general circulation. (Though I see they started producing them again in 2021.)

Despite being a cardiac specialist, and yet he could not explain his fathers death. It didn’t fit the risk patterns he knew.

Part of the problem there is that the ‘risk factors’ which all doctors ‘know’ are false – cholesterol in particular has NO relation to heart disease.

If you want to know if you actually have any real coronary disease, get a calcium scan.

Calcium scans visualise actual coronary disease, NOT predicted disease based on counterfeit risk factors.

Why don’t the Drs know that, and why do they keep ‘treating’ risk factors when no actual disease is present? They do it because they are taught to do it and they are taught to do it because it means big pharma can sell you drugs for life.

For People with Paving and Brick Walls a cheap alternative to Wet & Forget

Quick update one year on. Fantastic result using my home made mix. Pavers all looking like new again. Not a quick fix but a cheap, easy and effective one.

My Mix: Add 1 Tablespoon of washing soda to a 10L water can and fill with water. Stir in 200ml of Green Blaster Algaecide (Bunnings $16). Apply lightly (to minimize run-off) over 20-25 sq meters. Let that sit for 10 minutes and repeat. That’s it. Sit back and watch your pavers self clean over the next 12 months. Brilliant. Works out to less than $20 per 100 sq meters and beats the hell out of pressure spraying.

I have modified after trial and error using in 8l Sprayer – 2l Liquid Pool Chlorine (15l Pool Centre Brookvale $11.95) – 200Ml Green Blaster Algaecide Bunnings (2l $25.87) and tablespoon of Sodium Carbonate (Hy-Clor 2.5kg Soda Ash pH Increaser Soft Pack – $18.98) – works extremely well

news.com.au continues its noble mission to educate its presumably know-nothing audience:

Reason one for the unprecedented collapse in the pound is the world is becoming more dangerous, financially speaking. Recession talk is in the air, as central banks try to slow down their economies to stop inflation from getting any higher. When recessions happen, investors like to move their money into safe investments. And the safest investment is US bonds. They call it a safe haven.

To buy US bonds you need to have US dollars, so investors need to buy US dollars on the currency markets. The extra demand makes the US dollar go up, just like extra demand for any product makes the price go up. (The effect is exacerbated by currency traders trying to get ahead of the game, buying USD in the expectation that bond traders will soon need to do the same.)

(…)

These tax cuts have become known as the “stage three tax cuts.” They are an old idea, brought in by the Turnbull government in its 2018-19 budget under then-Treasurer Scott Morrison.

The tax cuts were supposed to be rolled out over the following seven years, but we don’t have to stick to that plan – the world has changed quite a bit since 2018. For one thing, inflation is now the enemy. When the government cuts taxes it encourages spending, and spending makes businesses put up prices, creating inflation. We don’t need more of that right now!

LOL wtf? They actually write like that?

What you describe frankly sounds like extortion.

As a rule, the property manager/owner is responsible for ensuring the property is safe, fit to live in, and in a good state of repair. The tenant/resident is responsible for keeping it clean and free from damage, such as accidentally breaking a window.

Seeking assistance from your local council would seem an appropriate first step (and I wouldn’t completely discard the idea of taking it to the press if that proves necessary to get action).

NASA’s DART spaceship this morning (AEST) struck the moonlet asteroid Dimorphos, in a historic test of humanity’s ability to prevent a cosmic object devastating life on Earth.

“Impact confirmed for the world’s first planetary defense test mission,” said a graphic on the space agency’s livestream, as engineers and scientists erupted in cheers.

At 9.15 Tuesday AEST the DART spacecraft, travelling more than 24,000 km/h, smashed into Dimorphos, an asteroid about the size of one of the Egyptian pyramids more than 11 million kilometres away.

The collision is the first attempt by NASA scientists, indeed humanity, to redirect the path of an asteroid in case scientists ever find one of the giant cosmic rocks hurtling toward Earth.

NASA live-streamed the impact using imagery from a camera aboard the spacecraft. The craft was instantaneously destroyed.

THE STORY OF THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks he’s a fool, and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The shivering grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

The end.

THE MODERN AUSTRALIAN VERSION
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks he’s a fool, and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others less fortunate like him are cold and starving. The ABC and Channel 9 show up to provide live coverage of the shivering grasshopper, with cuts to a video of the ant in his comfortable warm home with a table filled with food.

Australians are stunned that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so while others have plenty. The Democrats, the Greens and the Coalition Against Poverty demonstrate in front of the ant’s house.

The ABC, interrupting an Aboriginal cultural festival special from North Queensland with breaking news, broadcasts them singing “We Shall Overcome”.

The Green’s rant that the ant has gotten rich off the backs of grasshoppers, and calls for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his “fair share”.

In response to polls, the Liberal Government drafts the Economic Equity and Grasshopper Anti-Discrimination Act, retrospective to the beginning of the summer. It is quickly passed in to law.

The ant’s taxes are reassessed and he is also fined for failing to hire grass hoppers as helpers. Without enough money to pay both the fine and his newly imposed retrospective taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.

The ant moves to Bali, and starts a successful restaurant.

The TV stations later show the now fat grasshopper finishing up the last of the ant’s food though Spring is still months away, while the government owned house he is in, which just happens to be the ant’s old house crumbles around him because he hadn’t maintained it.

Inadequate government funding is blamed, Kevin Rudd is appointed to head a special inquiry that will cost $10,000,000. The grasshopper is soon dead of a drug overdose, the Sydney Morning Herald blames it on obvious failure of government to address the root causes of despair arising from social inequity.

The abandoned house is taken over by a gang of immigrant spiders, praised by the government for enriching Australia’s multicultural diversity, who promptly terrorise the community.

The new leader of Italy is a conservative woman who loves God, her family, and her country. She shared her thoughts in early 2020 at an event in Rome.

Another video of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is making rounds online which has received 9.3 million views in just 14 hours and was praised by conservatives including Ted Cruz.

Here’s why the elites and globalists are freaking out about Giorgia Meloni’s victory in Italy’s elections last night, below is the transcript:

Why is the family an enemy? Why is the family so frightening? There is a single answer to all these questions. Because it defines us. Because it is our identity. Because everything that defines us is now an enemy for those who would like us to no longer have an identity and to simply be perfect consumer slaves.

And so they attack national identity, they attack religious identity, they attack gender identity, they attack family identity. I can’t define myself as: Italian, Christian, woman, mother. No. I must be citizen x, gender x, parent 1, parent 2. I must be a number. Because when I am only a number, when I no longer have an identity or roots, then I will be the perfect slave at the mercy of financial speculators.

The perfect consumer…[But] we will defend it.

We will defend God, country, and family. Those things that disgust people so much. We will do it to defend our freedom. Because we will never be slaves and simple consumers at the mercy of financial speculators.

That is our mission. That is why I came here today. Chesterton wrote, more than a century ago. .. “Fires will be kindled to testify that two and two make four. Swords will be drawn to prove that leaves are green in summer.” That time has arrived. We are ready.

Just for Monty

Here’s what Giorgia Meloni says at campaign rallies. “I am Giorgia. I am a woman. I am a mother. I am Italian, I am Christian. You will not take that away from me!” For this, the Left calls her a fascist and an heir to Mussolini. Italians don’t believe it, and we shouldn’t either

People getting their hopes up over Meloni will be as sorely disappointed

Possibly. But I don’t think the Kavanagh comparison quite valid. He had not particularly espoused any intention of policy – he was favoured because he had a history of black letter law, rather than fantasies about ‘living documents’. That and the fact that the Democrat tactics were so execrable and savage.

Meloni, on the other hand, will have had to hold her nerve throughout a more vicious campaign, with attacks coming in from not only Italy, but the rest of the EU. You need no small amount of backbone to put up with that, especially while having to reassure her family that she should stay the course.

She might turn out to be a damp squib in office. She may have a savant gift for speeches and interviews but easily unnerved when confronted by the nitty-gritty.

But at the same time, if there is such a thing as a politician with convictions and courage, how else would you expect them to speak other than what was quoted above?

She may yet be the real deal.

Yep…Georgia will need to take advice from Victor Orban. He’s been the victim of a smear campaign for years and yet it hasn’t dampered Hungarian enthusiasm for him. He keeps on winning elections, despite foreign interference (the left doesn’t mind some foreign interference in elections…but only when it suits them). So, why does Orban keep winning elections? Because of his deeds, not his words. There’s a clear lesson there.

There are clearly physiological differences between Aboriginals and Europeans as far as some susceptibility to disease goes.
Aboriginals are far more susceptible to type 2 diabetes, for example.
If and how diet plays into this I don’t know, but some develop it very early in life, relative to Europeans, and the impacts seem to be far more debilitating.

While taxiing at London’s Gatwick Airport, the crew of a US Air flight departing for Ft. Lauderdale made a wrong turn and came nose to nose with a United 727.

An irate female ground controller lashed out at the US Air crew, screaming: “US Air 2771, where the hell are you going?! I told you to turn right onto Charlie taxiway! You turned right on Delta! Stop right there. I know it’s difficult for you to tell the difference between C and D, but get it right!”

Continuing her rage to the embarrassed crew, she was now shouting hysterically “God! Now you’ve screwed everything up! It’ll take forever to sort this out! You stay right there and don’t move till I tell you to! You can expect progressive taxi instructions in about half an hour, and I want you to go exactly where I tell you, when I tell you, and how I tell you! You got that, US Air 2771?”

“Yes, ma’am” the humbled crew responded.

Naturally, the ground control communications frequency fell terribly silent after the verbal bashing of US Air 2771. Nobody wanted to chance engaging the irate ground controller in her current state of mind. Tension in every cockpit out around Gatwick was definitely running high.

Just then an unknown pilot broke the silence and keyed his microphone, asking “Wasn’t I married to you once?”

The vegeburger was eventually retired to the place where woke ideas go to die, but the banner was up for months and months.

Extract early infant mortality, adolescent misadventure fatality, assault fatality, the lifestyle disease mortality of booze, drugs, darts and diabetes, and you’ll get a figure representing the life expectancy of First Nationses Australians who have a job and something to live for.

This is also pretty common in Islanders as well. It seems to be related to food scarcity. IIRC it seems to be related to ability to survive a famine, natural ability to turn down metabolism. Down side of surviving the famine is the type 2 susceptibility.

No, nothing to be envious of, but is it alone a sound rationale for offering indigenous people the OAP at 50 rather than 65 (if that is the case)? People of working age, of whatever race, who cannot work can access the disability pension and associated benefits. Making race a qualifying factor for government benefits is a retrograde step that will only further entrench poverty and dependence among some aboriginal people. Incidentally, it was announced today that a free dental clinic has been established in this area that will see 200 patients per week. The catch is you have to be indigenous to access the treatment. The rest, whatever “race” thay may be, can languish on the public dental hospital waiting list while their teeth fall out.

The Socialist Economics of Italian Fascism

Mussolini became more vocal in his claims that fascism explicitly rejected the capitalist elements of economic individualism and laissez-faire liberalism.

“The citizen in the Fascist State is no longer a selfish individual who has the anti-social right of rebelling against any law of the Collectivity.”

Mussolini more a man of the left than of the right

Mussolini was clear on his ideology: “I am and shall remain a socialist and my convictions will never change! They are bred into my very bones.”

… looking at the early fascist program, one can see massive overlaps with a socialist agenda circa early 20th century. Among other things, there was to be a minimum wage, an eight-hour workday, a progressive tax on capital, expropriation of uncultivated lands, and universal suffrage.

Chinese firm pays off worker with 9st of coins worth £1,320
Didi Tang, Beijing
Monday September 26 2022, 12.00pm BST, The Times

A Chinese company has been rebuked for paying off a sacked worker with £1,300 severance in coins, weighing more than 60kg (9st).

The health management company in the southern city of Changsha was ordered to repay a former employee 10,000 yuan (£1,320) in wages and compensation after it fired her without reason and lost a labour dispute in an arbitration court.

The company, which has not been named by state media, procrastinated in making the payment and its boss directed an employee to go to several banks and take out small change worth 10,000 yuan.

A video released by state media shows row after row of coins — in 1 yuan (13p), 50 fen (6.5p) and 10 fen denominations — when officials arrived at the business this month to enforce the court order.

“It’s true you’ve fulfilled your legal obligations, but the way you did it is not right,” a court official said in the video.

After being nearly snowbound for two weeks last winter, a Seattle man departed for his vacation in Miami Beach, where he was to meet his wife the next day at the conclusion of her business trip to Minneapolis.

They were looking forward to pleasant weather and a nice time together. Unfortunately, there was some sort of mix up at the boarding gate, and the man was told he would have to wait for a later flight. He tried to appeal to a supervisor but was told the airline was not responsible for the problem and it would do no good to complain.

Upon arrival at the hotel the next day, he discovered that Miami Beach was having a heat wave, and its weather was almost as uncomfortably hot as Seattle’s was cold. The desk clerk gave him a message that his wife would arrive as planned. He could hardly wait to get to the pool area to cool off, and quickly sent his wife an e-mail, but due to his haste, he made an error in the email address.

His message therefore arrived at the home of an elderly preacher’s wife whose even older husband had died only the day before!

When the grieving widow opened her email, she took one look at the monitor, let out an anguished scream, and fell to the floor dead. Her family rushed to her room where they saw this message on the screen:

Dearest wife,

Departed yesterday as you know. Just now got checked in. Some confusion at the gate. Appeal was denied. Received confirmation of your arrival tomorrow.

P.S. Things are not as we thought. You’re going to be surprised at how hot it is down here.

The COVID End-Game: It’s Time for Answers

From The Quadrant Online –

“And we all thought Wagner’s The Ring Cycle was overly long! Well, the Great COVID Show still ain’t over yet because the Fat Lady in this opera bouffe is still singing, as she has been for nearly three years now, thus knocking Herr Wagner’s interminable opus into a cocked hat for tedious length. The scolding, histrionic COVID divas from Public Health Central Casting are still bellowing away, despite growing audience fatigue.

Thankfully, however, they are on half-lung power and reduced to reprising ever-feebler versions of the original show’s greatest hits. There are no full-dress lockdown encores in store whilst the continuing medley of mask mandates and vax variations are not quite hitting the heights of the earlier shows. Much of the audience, shifting restlessly in their seats and looking anxiously at their watches, has stopped listening to any of it. The COVID arias about the lethality of footballs and pizza boxes, are now so much white noise.

To the dismay of the impresarios who brought us the original COVID blockbuster, there is no new production clamouring to take its place. Monkeypox (COVID – the Sequel) has been a box-office flop – there is no dramatic death-ticker to keep the audience gripped with tension whilst the casting has failed to generate wider engagement beyond the special interest group found in what the US CDC defines, coyly, as “spaces like back rooms, saunas, sex clubs, or private and public sex parties, where intimate, often anonymous sexual contact with multiple partners occurs”.

The Mask Lives On

Through the relative lull of the full ‘social distancing’ orchestra, however, comes the annoying solo of The Mask, that slightly shop-worn symbol of the political power and ideological dominance of the public health caste. This self-important and ceaselessly self-promoting clique of technocrats who, faster than a democratic debate, more powerful than an elected government and able to leap a clinical trial protocol in a single ‘emergency’ bound, haven’t hesitated to act out their superhero fantasies when given half a chance. The mask remains the most visible reminder that ‘the pandemic is not over’, as the Lord Protectors constantly remind us; thus, their orders must continue to be obeyed without question.”

This is a copy from the report you just linked.

No one single system, including notification data, provides the full picture on influenza, because influenza is a common disease and its presenting symptoms are non-specific. The epidemiology of influenza is informed by a number of different systems based in the community, laboratories, primary care and hospitals, as well as official deaths and notifiable diseases data. Throughout the influenza season in Australia these systems are reported in the Australian Influenza Surveillance Report at http://www.health.gov.au/flureport. For further details about information contained in this report please contact the Influenza Surveillance Team

They have to estimate the numbers because of the unknown non-reports and the inability to distinguish between a cold and flu at the GP. They treat the symptoms.

Confirmed cases are a portion of the total. The except suggests that as you can see. They can only estimate using stat inference.

And I’m the second smartest person in the room after you of course.

McDonald’s is facing a $10 billion lawsuit from media mogul Byron Allen, who has accused the fast food giant of failing to advertise with Black-owned media.

Give us money, just because.

Old fashioned shakedowns never went out of taste.

And if they had advertised in black-owned, and presumably targeted at blacks, advertising, the screeches of “big food targeting blacks, who are already the most obese” would be heard on Mars.

PROPAGANDA on the TAXPAYER DOLLAR
26th September 2022
Chris Battle
[excerpts only]
Currently, the SBS documentary series The Australian Wars is being aired on the SBS and NITV channels. The director and presenter of the three-part series is Rachel Perkins, the Aboriginal activist who also directed The First Australians. Perkins has quite mastered the art of the political documentary, also known as propaganda.
This series is a part of what we are being told is a process of “truth telling”, and apparently this process is defined as being whatever an Aboriginal activist says to the non-Aboriginal majority of Australians.
This Leftist political campaign to claim exclusive ownership of the “truth”, and therefore the exclusive right to have their ideology taught in the classroom, the university lecture hall and across the media generally, is being done with a lot of taxpayer money using the agencies and platforms that were created by the Australian government, such as the ABC, SBS and NITV.
We are now witnessing a concerted effort by Aboriginal politico-social activists and their allies on the Left to denigrate and de-legitimise the Commonwealth of Australia and its history, with the ultimate goal being to replace it with a federation of sovereign “First Nation” states.
The subject documentary, The Australian Wars, is an effective propaganda tool (or should we say “weapon”?) deployed towards the goal of recognising and returning the sovereignty of the so-called “First Nations”, and hence the dismantling of the Commonwealth of Australia.
Unfortunately, most conservative politicians appear to be unaware of this threat from the Left.
It would appear that the Left has been the undisputed winner of that public debate known as the “History Wars”, because there is now no questioning or challenging of the mainstream narrative about the historical relations between European settlement and Aboriginal peoples.
The first episode is described as:
‘…….The story of Australia’s first wars, calling for the nation to acknowledge the First Peoples who died in these conflicts and for the Australian War Memorial to recognise them…’
This series has been supported by Screen Australia, a Federal Government agency that supports Australian screen development, production and promotion. Their website describes The Australian Wars as:
‘…….A polemic documentary series that tells the extraordinary story of Australia’s First Wars – and calls for the First Peoples who died in these conflicts to be acknowledged by the nation and officially recognised by the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.
First Wars is a documentary series which investigates the frontier conflicts between 1788 and 1928 and their impact, asks Australians who we are, and what we want to become…..’
But it is Documentary Australia that sets out best the socio-political aspirations and intentions of this new documentary series. I had never heard of Documentary Australia before, and so I informed myself by clicking the “About Us” tab on their website and read:
OUR MISSION AND IMPACT
We connect filmmakers, activists, educators and change-makers and empower them to maximise their advocacy and impact goals.
It is our mission to advance awareness and inspire action on important social issues by supporting independent documentary filmmakers and organisations on the front-lines of social change, and amplifying the impact of their works to encourage empathy, activism and social transformation.
Our expertise, guidance and resources help creatives, not-for-profits, educators and change-makers work together to achieve their goals and maximise their social impact through the power of documentary.
We enable impact documentary projects to raise tax-deductible funding and make it possible for passionate philanthropists to collaborate with filmmakers to tell stories that change lives.
****Those of the Albanese Labor government are only too happy to grab their boards and ride the wave of Aboriginal “truth telling” all the way to constitutional recognition, treaty, republic and the Voice.
****What of the Liberal/National opposition?
They appear to be completely unaware of the threat to Australian democracy and the ultimate integrity of the Australian nation state that is behind the so-called “truth telling” agenda of the Aboriginal activists and their Leftist fellow travellers.
