Sue him for $1 billion. There’s a precedent.
It isn’t very good.
Parents of vax injured kids are treated a, ummm, billion times worse than Sandy Hook parents.
So I assume JC agrees that anybody who questions such parents’ stories should be made to pay a billion billion dollars.
I thought there was a ban on media reporting? Lehrmann may well have been on the stand.
The boarder issue is if the process can do this to Alex Jones, we all know it’s the thin edge of the wedge.”
Yup, because everyone knew he should be banned from youtube/google whatever and it wouldnt be used as a precedent for further banning’s & leftist fuckery, right?
Jones is a twat, but hes effectively being used as a stalking horse for a lot more crackdown on “wrongspeech”.
That might just be defamation.

Des Hasler punted from Manly-Warringah.
Anthony Siebold to replace him.
Siebold has a CV which includes Under Seibold, 2020 was the worst year in Brisbane’s history with only 3 wins from 20 matches and a points differential of -356 resulting in the club’s first wooden spoon

I doubt it.
Convention is that prosecution goes first, defence goes last.
Prosecution has not completed as Britnah hasn’t finished giving evidence.
It would be highly unusual to have the defendant giving evidence before the prosecution case was done, particularly if the complainant hadn’t completed her evidence.
The risk of “feedback” to the complainant is yuuuge.
It hasn’t been one sided. I mentioned the two examples – see above.
Behind the Scenes of World War Reddit
October 12, 2022 – Sundance
On February 24, 2022, Deputy National Security Advisor and Deputy Director of the National Economic Council, Daleep Singh, told the world what to expect about the U.S. and allied response to the war in Ukraine. We called the white house strategy “World War Reddit.” Here’s what Deputy NSA Singh said:
“…Strategic success in the 21st century is not about a physical land grab of territory; that’s what Putin has done. In this century, strategic power is increasingly measured and exercised by economic strength, by technological sophistication and your story – who you are, what your values are; can you attract ideas and talent and goodwill? And on each of those measures, this will be a failure for Russia.” ~ Deputy National Security Advisor Daleep Singh
Deputy National Security Advisor Daleep Singh boiled down geopolitical power to a cultural issue of social likeability. Realize that what he said is the White House strategy leading our foreign policy.
That strategy is why the White House enlisted TikTok influencers for their Ukraine effort [link].
Remember, the State Dept is also leading this effort. That is the context for this video. WATCH:
If there wasn’t so many people following cranks like him. None of it would’ve been nessersary.
He is just another grifter exploiting frustration.
Actually the nuclear family is somewhat an earlier product of Leftism. A mum, a dad and two kids. Two kids only because that is what was “responsible” parents (usually protestants) did.
I like to use the Left’s relativity on family in many circles. For example, who sent out the memo that a family comprises, today, of two adults and two children?
You could be catching a bus, buying AFL tickets, Maccas, movies, pools, ferries WHEREVER! Everyone has somehow determined that a family comprises four people… It’s a great example that the Left’s march into oblivion can be achieved without legislative reform and decades of cultural brainwashing instead.
Keep in mind the CNN defamation case didn’t get to court.
But the Oberlin college one did and the outcome seemed reasonable.
There are different parts to the Alex Jones case.
Did he defame people, yes.
Was the process highjacked, yes (definitely the first case in Austin with the production company & Netflix deal).
Should he have to pay the price, yes, but how much ?
I am glad I smoke ciggies and, generally, live a fairly unhealthy life. 😛
Behind the Scenes: President Zelenskyy’s Holographic & AR Address to Europe’s Tech Community 2 mis 34 secs
Founders Forum
With the help of our friends at Talesmith, Garden Studios, Evercoast and ARHT Media, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed Europe’s tech leaders via 3D hologram, live from Founders Forum London 2022. He urged our community to donate to United24’s Rebuild Ukraine fund and invest in the digital transformation that will define the country’s long-term rebuild, highlighting Ukraine’s resilient development, despite the ongoing war.
By broadcasting President Zelenskyy’s address via hologram and 3D avatar, our aim was to exemplify the world-changing innovation our community is capable of delivering and inspire our network to develop new technologies that can help rebuild Ukraine and promote truth dissemination.
We worked with ARHT Media to bring their holographic capsule to three other European cities, enabling the President to appear on stage simultaneously at the UK’s Founders Forum, Stockholm’s Brilliant Minds, Amsterdam’s The Next Web and Paris’ VivaTech. We also live-streamed his telepresence to Dublin Tech Summit, London Tech Week’s AI Summit and SuperReturn Berlin, to bring the President’s message to nearly 200,000 leaders across every vertical of the tech industry. You can view President Zelenskyy’s address via Evercoast’s mobile augmented reality experience at ff.evercoast.com.
Talesmith’s founder, Martin Williams and Evercoast’s founding CEO, Ben Nunez travelled to Kyiv to record the President volumetrically and ensure we delivered his message in 3D, showcasing the potential for Ukraine to leapfrog into a better, tech-enabled world, post-war.
The volumetric capture hardware used for the project has been donated to the Ukrainian government, to enable continued communications in extended reality formats, and ARHT Media is donating the equipment used for the hologram capture to the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, located in Kyiv.
Our mission at Founders Forum is empowering entrepreneurs at every stage of their journeys to drive positive change through technology. We are continually inspired by the creative technologies our community develops to solve problems and overcome challenges both big and small, and we believe wholeheartedly in tech as a force for good in the world. We believe in tech as a means of empowering democracies to prevail over autocracies.
We are proud to have hosted several Ukrainian thought leaders at FF London 2022 including Dima Shvets, Viktoriya Tigipko, Igor Zhadanov, and Irra Ariella Khi. Thank you to The Kyiv Independent’s Olga Rudenko and Daryna Shevchenko who travelled from Ukraine to join us in person.
Thank you also to Amanda Holden, Bernard Henri-Lévy, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Gayle King, Nile Rodgers, Oleksandr Balabanov, Ozwald Boateng and Peter Gabriel, who helped us amplify the President’s message and shared powerful words of support from the FF stage.
Thank you to our generous community who contributed significant funds to United24’s Rebuild Ukraine Fund in addition to well over $1 million USD to Sunflower Relief’s humanitarian aid fund, in immediate response to President Zelenskyy’s address at FF London.
Thank you to The New York Times, The Times and The Guardian, BBC and Rolling Stone for helping shed light on this project and expanding the reach of President Zelenskyy’s message.
Thank you as well, to Thomas Hoegh, who created and produced the project alongside Talesmith’s Martin Williams, Mark Wright and Ruth Roberts.
Yeah, fair point.
I can’t see Lehrmann taking witness stand before the accuser is done either.
It sounds like some prosecution witnesses have been dropped from the list for the trial to be so truncated.
Tomorrow should be an interesting day.
The White House is briefing TikTok stars about the war in Ukraine
On Thursday afternoon, 30 top TikTok stars gathered on a Zoom call to receive key information about the war unfolding in Ukraine. National Security Council staffers and White House press secretary Jen Psaki briefed the influencers about the United States’ strategic goals in the region and answered questions on distributing aid to Ukrainians, working with NATO and how the United States would react to a Russian use of nuclear weapons.
As the crisis in Ukraine has escalated, millions have turned to TikTok for information on what is happening there in real time. TikTok videos offered some of the first glimpses of the Russian invasion and since then the platform has been a primary outlet for spreading news to the masses abroad. Ukrainian citizens hiding in bomb shelters or fleeing their homes have shared their stories to the platform, while dangerous misinformation and Russian propaganda have also spread. And TikTok stars, many with millions of followers, have increasingly sought to make sense of the crisis for their audiences.
The White House has been closely watching TikTok’s rise as a dominant news source, leading to its decision to approach a select group of the platform’s most influential names.
This week, the administration began working with Gen Z For Change, a nonprofit advocacy group, to help identify top content creators on the platform to orchestrate a briefing aimed at answering questions about the conflict and the United States’ role in it. Victoria Hammett, deputy executive director of Gen Z For Change, contacted dozens with invitations via email and gathered potential questions for the Biden administration.
The invitations to the event were distributed Tuesday and Wednesday. Kahlil Greene, 21, a creator with more than 534,000 followers on TikTok, said he wasn’t surprised when an invitation arrived in his email inbox. “People in my generation get all our information from TikTok,” he said. “It’s the first place we’re searching up new topics and learning about things.” So, he figured, it made sense that the Biden administration would engage people like him on the platform.
The briefing was led by Matt Miller, a special adviser for communications at the White House National Security Council, and Psaki. The Washington Post obtained a recording of the call, and in it, Biden officials stressed the power these creators had in communicating with their followers. “We recognize this is a critically important avenue in the way the American public is finding out about the latest,” said the White House director of digital strategy, Rob Flaherty, “so we wanted to make sure you had the latest information from an authoritative source.”
Why? It’s exactly what the stinking illegitimate syphilis addled ol’ corruptocrat shitbag has done.
Tucker was spot on when he observed, “No one took him (biden) seriously at the time because he’s obviously senile and he was never going to win”.
Have the Teals got a seat picked out for Britnah yet?
I seem to remember there wasn’t a lot of defence of free speech on Dead-Cat when a chap (whose name escapes me) sent abusive letters to families of Australian soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
They weren’t published widely and they were arguably more in the realms of expression of an honestly held opinion than what Jones said.
is there an echo in here?
so one of two things will happen ?
1/ Lehrmann won’t be put on the stand
or
2/ judge will direct jury to find NG (is this a thing in this case?)
my above is based on the minimal amount of time given for the remainder of the trial.

During Trial Senior FBI Analyst Admits Agency Offered Dossier Author Chris Steele Up to One Million Dollars to Prove Authenticity of Claims
– The FBI knew the dossier was junk, the FBI didn’t care – they needed it to create a fraudulent search warrant.
– The FBI knew Carter Page was not a Russian asset, the FBI didn’t care – they needed him to get to Trump.
– The FBI goal was always to conduct political surveillance against Donald Trump.
Offering $1 million to a source to provide evidence is not a decision made by a supervisory special agent.
The authorization to spend up to $1 million for evidence is a decision made by the Director or Deputy Director of the FBI.
Follow the timeline:
Put it all together and you see the continuum.
(1) Donald Trump was being targeted by a corrupt DOJ and FBI. (2) Robert Mueller was installed in May 2017 to cover up the targeting. (3) When Mueller is nearing his completion, Bill Barr steps in to mitigate institutional damage from 1 and 2. (4) Barr maintains damage control and installs Durham. (5) Durham takes over the coverup operation from October 2020 (Danchenko safe to exit) through today.
Main Justice kept a bag over Danchenko until they needed a scapegoat, created by Durham, to sell a narrative that Main Justice was duped. John Durham is charging Danchenko (working outside govt) with lying to the FBI while simultaneously avoiding drawing attention to the FBI/DOJ officials (inside govt) who knew Danchenko was lying and were willfully blind to it in order to continue attacking and investigating President Donald Trump.
James Comey, Robert Mueller, Bill Barr, John Durham, the Mar-a-Lago raid… it’s all one long continuum of the same targeting and coverup operation.
Bill Barr was the Bondo application and John Durham is the spray paint.
The entire system is corrupt.
Some details about the ‘other’ trial
Darrell Brooks Demands ‘State of Wisconsin’ Testify at Trial in Waukesha Parade Attack
“Every document that was filed in this matter stated that the state of Wisconsin was the plaintiff, which would lead me to believe that the state of Wisconsin is who is bringing the claim against my client,” he said, referring to himself in the third person. He has been representing himself since firing his public defenders mere days before the ongoing murder trial. “How could they not be subpoenaed to testify if they are the plaintiff? And under the Sixth Amendment, I have the right to face my accuser. My accuser in this matter is the plaintiff, which is the state of Wisconsin.”
Prosecutors say Brooks is the driver who rammed a red SUV through the Waukesha Christmas parade on Nov. 21, 2021. He injured dozens and killed six people, authorities say.
A better precedent is the stinking illegitimate syphilis addled ol’ corruptocrat shitbag’s continual defaming of the truck driver in the “accident” in which the former’s wife and daughter died.
Leading Edge of Field to Fork Inflation Starts to Arrive in September Producer Price Index
October 12, 2022 – Sundance
The “Producer Price Index” (PPI) is essentially the tracking of wholesale prices at three stages: Origination (commodity), Intermediate (processing), and then Final (to wholesale). Today, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) released September price data [Available Here] showing another 8.5% increase year-over-year in Final Demand products at the wholesale level. However, that’s not the bad news in this data.
While the overall September PPI was higher than expected at 0.4%, the Final Demand Producer Price for food products in September was a whopping 1.2% (14.4% annualized).
The BLS notes the driver by saying, “a major factor in the September increase in prices for final demand goods was a 15.7-percent advance in the index for fresh and dry vegetables. Prices for diesel fuel, residential natural gas, chicken eggs, home heating oil, and pork also moved higher.”
That’s a 15.7% increase in price, in one month, for fresh and dry vegetables. Annualized that’s a rate of price increase of 188.4% for vegetables. Remember the warning about farm costs (energy, fertilizer, fuel) driving field to fork inflation at harvest? This is the leading edge of that third wave of food price increases.
I have modified BLS Table-2 to focus specifically on food costs. The data is to the right.
You will note that ‘row crops’ are the big drivers along with grain and seed products. This is exactly as we predicted it would be because those specific farming costs are the ones with greatest increase from energy, fuel, fertilizer, weed and insect control, and diesel costs.
All of those higher costs have been growing in the fields and will now surface at harvest. The higher farm costs transfer from the field to the fork via the food supply chain. This is only the leading edge of the price increase.
Bern at 1:12.
This is a neat summary of my thoughts.
Let’s not confuse the OTT damages award (which is not uncommon in the US and invariably overturned on appeal), and the fact he is guilty of fairly egregious defamation, and hasn’t mitigated the damage via an apology.
Still no footage of the damage to the Nord Stream pipelines. Would have thought they’d have something by now.
Hardly a laughing matter.
The facts that he’s revealed are that has high cholesterol and inherited heart issues from his father. Two brothers with the same genetic inheritance died in their 50s from heart attacks.

Agreed OSC. Been a Sea Eagles fan for decades. This all came out of the Pride Round fiasco. The one constant in all their problems going back to 2011 is not so much the coaches (Trent Barrett excepted), but the owners and management. I wish the Penns would bog off.

You know Nina and SAM. Now meet Julian, another culprit for our soggy spring
But La Nina is not the only climate pattern affecting our rainfall at the moment. Meet the lesser-known Madden-Julian Oscillation, or MJO, which is also currently active. This eastern-moving zone of wind and cloud circles the tropical areas of the globe, and when active, increases our chances of above-average rainfall.
Imagine the MJO as a “pulse” of storms – a collection of stormy weather that moves together – which travels around the equator, explains Melbourne University climate scientist Dr Andrew King. This pulse appears in the west Indian Ocean and moves over the “Maritime Continent”, the meteorological term for the area over Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia and the Philippines.
“It has a greater effect across northern Australia, but it can affect southern Australia too,” King said.
“It sets off atmospheric waves that can influence our weather, even as far south as Victoria. When it’s active over Indonesia it tends to mean wetter weather in Australia.”
The Madden-Julian Oscillation
As well as La Nina and the MJO, there are other climate patterns also affecting Australia’s weather.
Indian Ocean Dipole:
For most of Australia, El Nino brings dry weather, while La Nina brings wet weather.
There is a similar climate driver in the Indian Ocean – the Indian Ocean Dipole – which has the same impact through its “positive” and “negative” phases, respectively.
Southern Annular Mode:
In the region between Tasmania and Antarctica, strong westerly winds blow almost continuously and are associated with storms and cold fronts that move from west to east, bringing rainfall to southern Australia.
The Southern Annular Mode, or SAM, refers to how far north and south these westerly winds move. It has three phases: neutral, positive and negative.

Ole Brittainee case feels like its coming apart. From what i read so far it will be a courageous court to find the chap guilty …but its Cranberra so who knows what rules apply.
As for the chap being a cad for dumping and running I vote yes. To top it off he may have wiped himself on the curtains and marked his territory in the office corner. … we wait for his version of events.
That’s my understanding, as well.

Nuclear-powered Australia should not be off the table
Nuclear energy may never end up helping power the nation through the massive transition to a less carbon-intensive world. But Australia’s blanket ban on the nuclear option should be revisited to allow this technology to compete on its merits with other technologies to produce cleaner, affordable and reliable electricity.
Going nuclear as part of Australia’s net-zero future should not be ruled out based on the political, cultural and environmental objections of earlier and different times. In the 1950s and into the 1960s, uranium-rich Australia was expected to join the atomic revolution alongside other countries that harnessed the awesome power source unleashed by the scientific discoveries that split the atom.
Gough Whitlam won office in 1972 on a Labor platform to develop a uranium enrichment industry and nuclear power. But it never happened because complex and costly nuclear power simply could not compete with Australia’s huge supply of cheap and abundant coal. That was before the anti-nuclear movement of the 1970s – with its Cold War fears of armageddon and “nuclear-free zone” local council signs – became a tribal marker of Australia’s left.
Now the exit of coal-fired power stations from the national electricity grid is accelerating as Australia commits to decarbonising its fossil-fuel-intensive economy by 2050 to prevent catastrophic global warming.
Yet, unlike most other comparable economies, Australia has zero nuclear capacity to generate the zero-emissions back-up baseload power that could help make sure the lights stay on through the transition to renewables.
With 70 per cent of its electricity supply nuclear-generated, France plans to build as many as 14 new reactors by 2050. As part of reaching net zero, the UK has a 25 per cent nuclear by 2050 target. In the US, there is bipartisan congressional support for nuclear energy to help the country realise its climate targets.
The International Panel on Climate Change describes nuclear energy as a “mitigating technology.”
The law forbidding building or operating nuclear power stations, enriching uranium or reprocessing spent fuel rods that makes Australia an international outlier only dates to the Howard government’s 1999 Conservation Act.
The protection from the nuclear “threat” was a concession made to the Greens and Australian Democrats in return for their support in the Senate for the replacement of the Lucas Heights research reactor. Citing safety fears, opponents say that nobody has built a nuclear power plant anywhere in the world for the past 40 years.
But nuclear technologies have evolved beyond the giant Soviet-era reactors infamously associated with the accidents at Three Mile Island in 1979, Chernobyl in 1986 and Fukushima in 2011.
At The Australian Financial Review Energy & Climate Summit, Coalition climate change and energy spokesman Ted O’Brien called for small, modular nuclear reactors (SMR) to be considered as part of the nation’s future energy mix. The legendary British engineering company Rolls-Royce plans to turn on its first factory-built SMR in the UK in 2029. Canada, meanwhile, plans to have the world’s first commercial SMR online in 2028.
Lacking a nuclear industry, Australia would struggle to bring nuclear power online within a decade.
But that is about the same timeline for the development of the “green” hydrogen that is yet to be shown to be commercially viable. Advances in battery storage and pump-hydro technologies could make nuclear a redundant option. Yet the uncertainty around the technological path to cleaner and secure electricity underlines why all possible solutions must be on the table, especially in a country that holds a quarter of the world’s uranium deposits.
The International Atomic Energy Agency, in charge of promoting the responsible use of nuclear energy, has reportedly decided that Australia’s AUKUS nuclear-powered submarine deal will not encourage the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
AUKUS means Australia is now going to start to build domestic expertise in nuclear energy for the purposes of national defence. Wind, solar, batteries and pumped hydro may end up being enough to keep the lights on without 24/7 coal.
Yet the option of dispatchable nuclear power for civilian purposes should not be ruled out because it is inconvenient for the quasi-religious faith for the Greens and the Midnight Oil wing of the Labor Left.

NATO allies struggle to secure Ukraine enough weapons
Brussels | Amid concerns that spiralling energy costs and Ukraine’s slowing down on the battlefield in winter could undermine Western resolve, the United States and its NATO allies on Wednesday (Thursday AEDT) reaffirmed their support for bolstering Ukraine’s defences in the face of intensifying Russian aggression.
A day after the Biden administration said it was working to speed up the delivery of two advanced missile systems, known as NASAMs, Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin signalled that the United States’ provision of arms to Ukraine would be open-ended, saying the country would need military assistance for years to come.
“I expect that Ukraine will continue to do everything it can throughout the winter to regain its territory and to be effective on the battlefield, and we’re going to do everything we can to make sure that they have what’s required to be effective,” he said on Wednesday after a meeting at NATO headquarters of the Pentagon-led coalition of about 50 nations supporting Ukraine.
‘Need to scale up’
“Allies have provided air defence, but we need even more. We need different types of air defence, short-range, long-range air defence systems to take [out] ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, drones, different systems for different tasks,” NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said before the NATO meeting.
“Ukraine is a big country, many cities. So we need to scale up to be able to help Ukraine defend even more cities and more territory against horrific Russian attacks.”
At the same time, national military stocks are being depleted. Some countries are growing reluctant to provide Ukraine with more when they are no longer sure they can protect their own territories and airspace.
The conundrum for the allies is to find a way to arm Ukraine without disarming themselves.
For the defence industry, companies need long-term orders and certainty before they commit to extending production lines. But no one is sure how long the war in Ukraine will last, making it difficult to know how much equipment is needed.
So, the United States and its partners want to boost weapons production by sending clear signals to industry, as they pool resources and send Ukraine the hardware that it needs, all while ensuring that no major gaps appear in national stockpiles.

Good flight to LAX on Qantas A380. Sentimental I know, but I got champagne-induced teary at their ‘Together Again’ logo and video of “I still call Australia home”, plus safety vid focussing on Qantas through the decades; very good and so different to the Air New Zealand Maori take-over vid. Some bad turbulence at one stage, worst I have experienced on the 380 on the upper deck, a big slosh of water from a jug being used to serve went over my trackies at the same time just as Chernobyl was exploding on the five-part series ‘Chernobyl’ I was watching, and which I do recommend (the series, that is, all of which I watched, not the water drenching). Well done and instructive on how disastrously dangerous bureaucracy anywhere, not just in the old Soviet Union, can be to an open society and truth. Take out lessons there for both Covid and the climate cult, probably unintended by the makers of the show, btw.
We took the Amtrak train the 200 km down to San Diego, government system, instead of poor ole Hairy facing the rental car drive as we have done previously; you don’t need that after a long flight these days I assure him nor another flight, so the train it was. Both Union Station in LA and San Diego downtown station are Art Deco marvels and well worth seeing. You see ‘real’ America travelling by train, amazing variety of ordinary people, and best part was being joined by two Amish couples, who looked wonderfully anachronistic, like seeing people from my ancestral church heaving suitcases into the door. A tiring trip as there was track work requiring transfer to bus for 25km, but really a great experience of local America.
We’re in a hotel currently watching Newsmax – great new channel, nothing like this in Oz tho’ much needed- offering a big piece on the charity ‘Christians and Jews come Together’. Now a report on a school board meeing in a Muslim community joining together enthusiastically with Christians in Michigan protesting against the gender ‘woke’ books on offer for their kids. Also you can call in for your free ‘Patriotic Trump Guide for Kids’ including lessons on the ‘Great Again” history video .
So far, from our exposure to date here, there is definitely fight back.

lol. Now up. Here is the latest ‘far right conspiracy’. The FBI offering to pay a million dollars to get stuff on the Russia dossier. Now the rats are leaving that sinking ship. What someone said in Court, under Oath, says Hairy, is now ‘far right’. Dems are now ‘talking up’ the dossier, trying to make something of it, saying there is more than circumstancial evidence. Seems they would tell any lie to stay in power!
Woodford.
Firstly, Lehrmann doesn’t have to take the stand. And, after Britnah’s performance, he would be advised to sit tight.
My guess is this.
The intervening days when Britnah retired to the fainting couch have been taken up with “contemporaneous” witnesses (the members of the drinking party, uber driver, security guards, people she may have spoken to immediately afterwards etc).
I think all or most of the subsequent “peripheral” witnesses have been ditched (eg Mrs Bandana).
Given Britnah is going to take up a chunk of tomorrow, allowance needs to be made for both sides summing up and the judge instructing a jury, next Tuesday seems to preclude Lehrmann giving evidence and being cross-examined.
And it would be highly irregular for a defendant to be forced to give evidence before the complainant had finished. It would be more likely that the trial would be put into recess until Britnah had finished her bottle of smelling salts.
It’s a sign that someone left their gate open.
Yes.
It’s a sign that someone has left their gate open.
FBI OFFERED BRIBE TO BRING DOWN TRUMP
Scott wrote earlier today about the first day’s testimony in the trial of Igor Danchenko. I want to elaborate on the most significant point that emerged from the testimony of FBI supervisory intelligence analyst Brian Auten: the FBI offered Christopher Steele $1 million if he could come up with evidence to support the wild allegations in his “dossier” on Donald Trump. This at a time when the FBI knew that, to date, Steele had nothing.
TechnoFog has a summary and partial transcript of Auten’s testimony, which is worth quoting at length:
We already knew that the Russia collusion hoax was the worst political scandal in American history, by far. But this meddling in a presidential election by federal law enforcement is utterly unacceptable. A number of FBI employees must have known of the offer to Steele, and someone at a senior level must have authorized the $1 million bribe. Auten’s testimony confirms, as we knew, that interest in the FBI’s plot against Trump, which went by the name Crossfire Hurricane, went to the very top of the agency. And we know that mid-level FBI employees like Peter Strzok and Lisa Page schemed to deny Trump the 2016 election or, failing that, to disable his nascent presidency.
Until now, I have thought that the FBI could be reformed. But this is too much. The rot goes too deep, and the FBI’s violation of the public trust is too comprehensive. The bureau should be shut down, the J. Edgar Hoover building should be razed to the ground, every FBI employee should be retired, and a brand new federal law enforcement agency, with new personnel and with far stronger controls to prevent meddling in domestic politics, should be established.

The richest counties in America are the ones that surround Washington, D.C. The high-income people who live in those suburbs are mostly lobbyists, lawyers, consultants, and others who profit from trillions in government spending. But an investigation by the Wall Street Journal suggests that plenty of high-level bureaucrats are also profiting improperly from their government jobs.
Thousands of officials across the government’s executive branch reported owning or trading stocks that stood to rise or fall with decisions their agencies made, a Wall Street Journal investigation has found.
More than 2,600 officials at agencies from the Commerce Department to the Treasury Department, during both Republican and Democratic administrations…
Sure, but the overwhelming majority of senior career bureaucrats are Democrats.
And I am Spartacus!
Oh, the non publication order is probably so the accuser can’t use it to tailor her evidence?
I thought he had apologized.
It would be unheard of for a defendant to be compelled to take the stand halfway through the prosecution case. Even more so as the defendant isn’t compelled to take the stand at all.
Friday for Brih-nee, where there will be tears.
Monday morning, closed court for ‘legal argument’. The prosecution will rest, having cut all the ‘vibe’ witnesses as the vibe is clearly not working for them.
Monday afternoon, no-case submission made by the defence.
Tuesday, summing up by Hizzoner. He’ll then reserve his decision, adjourn sine die and very, very carefully write up his decision on the no-case.
Or, dependent on ACT legislation, direct the jury to acquit.
I have a chocolate.
Britnah will not be judged on the result of a court case but by the content of her book.
Having said that:
We’ll see. Very rare indeed for witnesses to be giving evidence on the last day of a trial.
Hi Lizzie. Thinking of you and Hairy on another wonderful adventure. Loved the Amish we met many years ago in the US. Could not believe they ploughed with teams of 8 mules until I saw it. And those mules are HUGE – must be at least 16 hands, and also fierce as we later found when we visited the stables. Was able to impress the Amish guide with my recognition of alfalfa (our lucerne) and understanding of their large dairy operation. It seems to me that they don’t tolerate fools easily – even in tourism- though the women are very sweet.
Suppression Campaign
The American Medical Association asks the federal government to prosecute critics of radical gender medicine.
Last week, the American Medical Association, the Children’s Hospital Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics sent a letter to U.S. attorney general Merrick Garland requesting that the Department of Justice “take swift action to investigate and prosecute” “high-profile users on social media” who have allegedly created a “campaign of disinformation” against children’s hospitals that offer “gender-affirming health care,” leading to threats and harassment, including a bomb-threat hoax at Boston Children’s Hospital.
The letter poses three significant problems.
First, the medical associations obscure the radical nature of so-called “gender-affirming care.” The basic facts, which have caused justifiable public outrage, are well-established: according to the medical literature, American doctors have been administering puberty blockers, hormone therapies, and experimental gender surgeries on minors—including double-mastectomies for girls, which involves surgically removing the breasts, and vaginoplasties for boys, which involves surgically removing the penis and turning the tissue into an artificial vagina. Despite what trans activists have insisted, the medical evidence to support these procedures for minors is thin, weak, and contested. Medical authorities in Europe have recently turned against many of these practices.
Second, the AMA, CHA, and AAP provide no evidence, or even a working definition, of “disinformation.” The “high-profile users on social media” would undoubtedly include those of us who have published investigative reporting on radical gender medicine at children’s hospitals, often using original source materials published by the hospitals themselves. Rather than grapple with the facts, however, left-wing activists and medical providers have dismissed them with accusations of “disinformation”—even when journalists have directly quoted their own words. This unsubstantiated accusation of “disinformation” is even more troubling because, in addition to asking the Justice Department for investigations on these vague and undefined grounds, the medical associations also asked technology companies to silence critics of “gender-affirming care” on social media platforms, an essential public forum.
Third, the call to “investigate and prosecute” journalists, activists, and citizens critical of radical gender medicine is wholly contrary to the principles of free speech; if the attorney general were to carry out this request, it would be a violation of the First Amendment and a blatant attempt to criminalize political opposition and intellectual debate. At their founding, these three medical associations embraced the idea that they should be nonpartisan, neutral, and driven by scientific evidence. But by issuing this reckless call to prosecute critics, they have revealed themselves to be hostile to open debate and free scientific inquiry. They are behaving like dangerous ideologues rather than custodians of the public trust.
Is Garland following the same playbook with the AMA? To answer that question, I am preparing a public-records request to discover whether the Department of Justice had prior knowledge of the AMA’s campaign to silence journalists, as it did with the National School Boards Association’s campaign to silence parents. Either way, the intention of this gambit is clear: the most powerful medical and political authorities in the nation would like to make experimental gender surgeries a forbidden topic of debate.
I know its been said in jest, but dueling was designed for shitbags with big mouths.
Even a bit of “to the pain” would be instructive.

It’s those damned Anglo-Saxons again!
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told a Russian TV audience this week that “the Anglo-Saxons” are driving the war in Ukraine.
Someone should tell him that neither Blinken nor Biden are actual literal Anglo-Saxons, and neither are a majority of Americans for that matter.
That hilarious misnomer aside, he did indicate that Russia was open to talks and that Erdogan may prove to be a reliable intermediary between Russia and the dreaded “Anglo-Saxons”.
Let’s hope so, but Mr. Lavrov might want to watch his back…there are elements in the Kremlin that do not want this to end any time soon.
She did, indeed.
No respect.

I don’t know what happened of course, only the two of them know and even that is doubtful in one case.
Reynold’s is appearing as a prosecution witness, I can’t see her undercutting the allegations.
lawyer-type: “Do you stand by that statement?”
Reynolds: “Indeed I do; if anyone who has been listening to the evidence in this court over the last two weeks disagrees with me, they need their heads read”
Higgins complained that she hadn’t been properly supported after making the allegations, Reynolds used the term in reply.
A guy goes to the supermarket and notices an attractive woman waving at him. She says “Hello”. He’s rather taken aback because he can’t place where he knows her from. So he says “Do you know me?” To which she replies “I think you’re the father of one of my kids”. Now his mind travels back to the only time he has ever been unfaithful to his wife and says “Are you the stripper from the bachelor party that I had sex with on the pool table with all my buddies watching while your partner whipped my butt with wet celery??” She looks into his eyes and says calmly “No… I’m your son’s teacher”.

I had to look it up
Gannicus was a Celtic slave, who together with the Thracian Spartacus, Crixus, Castus and Oenomaus, became one of the leaders of rebel slaves during the Third Servile War (73–71 BC). In the winter of 71 BC, Gannicus, along with Castus, broke off from Spartacus, taking a large number of Celts and Germans with them, marking the second detachment of the rebellion. Gannicus and Castus met their end at the Battle of Cantenna in Lucania near Mount Soprano (Mount Camalatrum), where Marcus Licinius Crassus, Lucius Pomptinus and Quintus Marcius Rufus entrenched their forces in battle and defeated them.

My sources say the Russians have (uncharacteristically for them) been patiently ablating the Ukes (and their Western sourced weapons systems) for months now – rather than steamrolling over them, irrespective of casualties, in their historical manner.
They expect a lull of a few weeks now, then the real Russian advance to happen once winter has hardened the ground.

Yes.
But the Australia wide media ban is unusual.
I would think the judge would release the witness temporarily, with an undertaking to not read the papers, watch the news or discuss it with anyone.
After all, that is the standard expected of any witness. They should stay clear of accounts other witnesses to avoid contamination of their own evidence.
So why this unusual step?

There was extensive discussion the other day about this.
Firstly, the prosecution aren’t her lawyers, but they are bound by the conventions of the court not to brief a witness in the middle of giving evidence.
Which means now.
Britnah has engaged lawyers for other purposes. They do not represent her in this matter, because she is not on trial. She is a witness. But it would be more than their practicing certificate would be worth if they were caught briefing any witness on what another witness had said.

JP Morgan CEO: Biden Is ‘Getting Energy Completely Wrong’
At least one financial industry CEO is not so mesmerized by the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) movement that he has lost their mind. So while BlackRock CEO Larry Fink talks about the virtues of high gas prices, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon provides an excellent counterbalance. In an interview on CNBC, Dimon criticized the Biden administration’s energy policy and called on the U.S. to take a leadership role.
While Fink believes rising energy prices will reduce the “green premium” and cause people to embrace renewables, Dimon’s perspective is much more realistic. The Biden administration has decided to beg some of the worst petro dictators in the world to produce more oil rather than taking it out of the ground at home. As Dimon observes, this has not reduced fossil fuel use:
“Well, I think we’re getting energy completely wrong, which is, you know, ever since this war started, you know that Europe is going to have a problem.”
“And that it was pretty predictable that Putin was going to cut off some gas and some oil, and oil price would go up and, by the way, for the climate folks here, it’s made the climate worse because people have this bad assumption that higher oil prices and gas prices reduce consumption, reduce CO2. No. Poor nations, India, China, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, are turning back on coal plants, as are rich nations called Germany, Netherlands, France.”
NIMBY energy policies, like those adopted by Biden, Germany, and other EU countries, have always made the world dirtier. Western nations outsourced their fossil fuel production to countries in the Middle East and Russia that use less environmentally sound extrusion practices. China makes much of the solar and wind equipment they install, and the CCP is building record numbers of new coal plants. These policies do not reduce CO2. They just move the source to another country.
Now, Biden is refusing to fill in any shortages caused by the war in Ukraine. However, the administration’s policy keeps the apocalyptic climate freaks quiet at home. It also keeps them delusional.
Dimon was the CEO who had to burst Representative Rashida Tlaib’s green bubble when she asked him to commit to divesting from fossil fuel companies during congressional hearings. “Absolutely not, and that would be the road to hell for America,” Dimon responded.
Dimon is correct. America suffers from a shortage of refining capacity that is not likely to get remedied as long as firms like BlackRock and the Biden administration keep attacking the oil and gas industry. Even California Governor Gavin Newsom is getting in on the action, threatening to punish oil companies for “rank price gouging.” Of course, this is just political theater, as Valero’s vice president for state government affairs, Scott Folwarkow, noted in his response to an inquiry from the California Energy Commission:
Dr Duk – Apparently Ukr potted four Ka-52 helis yesterday in the space of an hour. I haven’t bothered to look for confirmation of it, but it suggests air superiority is not coming any time soon.
The Ukies on the other hand have been doing three things: hitting C&C nexi, causing as many casualties amongst Russian troops as they can (particularly experienced formations) and finding and destroying ammunition dumps. The latter seems to’ve paid off because the successful Brusilov tactics have tailed off lately – probably due to a shortage of artillery ammunition. As Telenko has outlined the Russian Army still primarily uses hairy-armed guys to shift artillery ammunition, shell by shell – not palletized or automated in any way. So the ammunition dumps represent a huge number of man hours to accumulate, and the logistics of getting the ammunition to the artillery regiments is not trivial. And unfortunately the only tactic that has reliably worked for the Russians recently is Gen. Brusilov’s one. But it has been working – so long as the ammunition can get to the artillery regiments. (Hence the rumours that Russia is buying artillery ammunition from the Norks – the expenditure rate has been phenomenal.)
It’ll be interesting to see how it goes, but the Russian mobilization isn’t sounding especially efficient. And if they’re so short of guys that the called-up soldiers are already digging trenches it means they aren’t doing the usual requisite 2 months retraining you’d expect for a reservist call-up.

Noncitizens Encouraged to Vote
From Armstrong Economics –
“This is yet another reason why voter identification is crucial. We show identification at the airport, DMV, and even at the doctor’s office. There is absolutely no reason that we should not prove our citizenship via identification when we vote on policies that impact the direction of our country. Democratic Secretary of State Jena Griswold’s office “accidentally” sent 30,000 registration notices to noncitizens.
It just so happens that they sent out the registration notices in both English and Spanish. Griswold swears it was a mistake and that they will contact those who mistakenly received the notices. However, would they be turned away from the booths on election day?
Colorado, and at least 18 other states, issue driver’s licenses to non-citizens. Colorado also uses the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) records to register voters automatically.
Oddly enough, Griswold is promising to fix the election process. “I will work to increase voter participation and to make elections more accessible and secure. That’s why I plan to expand automatic voter registration to increase voter registration and participation in our democratic process,” she states.
The chaos surrounding the upcoming November mid-terms is just beginning.”

Macron Reminds Biden to Think Before Speaking
From Armstrong Economics –
“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me – unless you are a world leader! French President Emmanuel Macron has been warning US President Joe Biden to THINK before speaking. At best, Biden causes confusion when he derails from the teleprompter. At worst, he drags the world into a massive conflict that can never be undone.
Macron warned Biden back in March of the dangers of using “personal insults” and inflammatory language as it would only heighten tensions between the West and Russia.“For God’s sake, [Putin] cannot remain in power,” Biden recklessly said. This caused an uproar globally. Russia was offended that the US was not respecting their election process. He called Putin a war criminal as well, eliminating any prospect of a diplomatic discussion between the two. The White House was forced to backtrack to clarify that the US had no intention of removing the Russian leader. Macron responded to the matter by saying, before Biden’s “gaffe,” that his aim was “achieving first a ceasefire and then the total withdrawal of [Russian] troops by diplomatic means.”
Clearly all diplomatic measures have since been a lost cause. Biden’s blatantly reckless speeches have only caused increasing tensions. The US president said that the world was closer than ever to a “nuclear Armageddon” and began fanning the fears of a world war fought with weapons of mass destruction. Macron and other world leaders were disgusted. “We must speak with prudence when commenting on such matters,” Macron told reporters. “I have always refused to engage in political fiction, and especially … when speaking of nuclear weapons,” he added. “On this issue, we must be very careful.”
Everyone is kindly asking the US Embarrassment-in-Chief to shut his mouth. He has done enough damage.”

Can we have a ‘Phrasing’ thread?
I watched a show about a guy called Peter Madsen the other night on Stanflix Prime-Plus.
Egotistical Dane who was a wannabe Elon Musk. Building mini-submarines, launching rockets, claiming he had a “space program”.
Knew everything.
Submarines, rockets, the lot.
Murdered a journalist (Kim Wall) and dumped her body at sea from his mini-sub. We’ll never know, but I suspect Wall was about to expose him as a fraud.
Madsen knew all about the law of murder at sea. He also knew everything about perforating a corpse so gasses would escape and keep it submerged, and ballasting corpses too, for good measure.
Except he wasn’t as smart as he thought he was.
Body washed up. With a piece of distinctive steel attached, traceable to him.
And his knowledge of jurisdiction over murders at sea? That wasn’t tip-top either.

As for lawyers passing on information to a witness about other witnesses testimony mid-trial before her evidence is completed?
Well, it is possible, but I am telling you that it is the end of your legal career if you are caught.
Do not pass “Go!”.
The most notable exception to this was the coke-head Falconio hunter in Melbourne who was specifically engaged by crooks because he would breach legal privilege and disclose names and addresses of witnesses etc.
It would be really good if you left subjects alone when you know sfa about them.

This sounds a lot like lawyer inspired bullshit. As if the VIC bar is such an honorable and ethical outfit. You’re talking your book Sancho.
This guy sticks his head into a barbershop and asks “How long before I can get a haircut?” The barber looks around the shop and says “About two hours”.
The guy leaves.
A few days later the same guy sticks his head in the door and asks “How long before I can get a haircut?” The barber looks around at his shop full of customers and says “About two hours”.
The guy leaves.
A week later the same guy sticks his head in the shop and asks “How long before I can get a haircut?” The barber looks around the shop and says “About an hour and a half”.
The guy leaves.
The barber looks over at a friend in the shop and says “Hey, Bill, follow that guy and see where he goes”.
In a little while, Bill comes back into the shop laughing hysterically.
The barber asks “Bill, where did that guy go when he left here?” Bill looks at him and says “To your house”.
R is for Roger.
He is the Canberra District Attorney.
Ah… thanks SP!
Rodgering Vs Lehrman.
Got it.
Old Ozzie,
I posted some YouTubes on Adam’s blog a few days ago and thought they would be of interest to you, given your experience on some of the back roads around Australia. They are about a bloke named Steve from Perth who travelled from Perth to the tip of Cape York, there’s nothing particularly of note in that but he didn’t travel in an air conditioned comfy 4WD, he took all the back roads and bush tracks on his motorbike.

Federal government to pledge to reduce methane emissions by 30 per cent
No they arent closing the Parliament canteen.
Australia is set to pledge its support to reduce global methane emissions by 30 per cent by 2030.
…
At that time, the decision not to sign on to the pledge was publicly supported by the Labor opposition.
Now in government, Labor Agriculture Minister Murray Watt said he supported the target.
“This methane pledge is an aspirational goal from the world to bring down our methane emissions, which is something not only that I support but that most farm groups support,” Senator Watt said on Thursday morning.
“We’re certainly considering it … I’m certainly comfortable if we sign up to it.
“We haven’t made that announcement at this point, we are still consulting with groups.”
The minister’s comments pave the way for a formal commitment by the federal government ahead of a global climate summit in Egypt in November.
Methane is a potent greenhouse gas and about half of Australia’s methane emissions come from the agriculture sector.
…
Senator Watt said farmers have told him they were comfortable with the government making the commitment.
“One of the things that industry has been saying to me is that they’re actually quite comfortable with these things, especially if government is prepared to provide support such as support for the expanded use of asparagopsis, the seaweed that can help bring down methane,” he said.
“There was a lot of consternation about this from the former government in the lead-up to the last COP meeting in Glasgow and we were all being told we’d have to cut our methane emissions by a certain amount and that meant reducing herd size and shooting livestock that is just absolute crap.”
…
New Zealand is preparing to introduce a methane tax on its livestock sector from 2025.
In that country, farm industries put a proposal to the government about how to proceed with the methane tax.
This week, the NZ government said it would largely adopt the farm sector’s proposal about pricing emissions on farm.
“This is an important step forward in New Zealand’s transition to a low emissions future and delivers on our promise to price agriculture emissions from 2025,” NZ prime minister Jacinda Ardern said this week.
“The proposal would see New Zealand farmers lead the world in reducing emissions, delivering a competitive advantage and enhancing our export brand.
“No other country in the world has yet developed a system for pricing and reducing agricultural emissions, so our farmers are set to benefit from being first movers.“
WA Gov will celebrate this deeply cultural event with a live feed from a spiritual ceremony, live from the South Hedland pub carpark.
The rodgering is denied. They just shared an Uber. Apparently. Mrs Pirate just an onlooker like the rest of us now. Interesting.
Will it be catered? Open bar as usual I presume.
I am not saying it doesn’t happen (see Nicola Gobbo and Andrew Fraser).
What I am saying is that the consequences are massive if caught.
Like “career ending massive”.
And this is why ‘err ‘onner has imposed the media ban.
If there are leaks to Britnah, the number of possible sources is very, very small, and the risk of being caught is increasingly high.
Forget ethical standards for a moment.
Think about the pragmatic side of it.
Just say you are on the DPP team in this case. You’ve seen how Britnah has dissolved into a puddle of tears under pressure last week, to the point where she spent four days on the fainting couch. You are now imagining what might happen if Britnah blurts out something in her remaining evidence which she couldn’t or shouldn’t have known.
At this point the defence barrister or ‘err ‘onner asks, “Ms ‘Iggins, have you been in communication with anyone during your break about the evidence of other witnesses?”
At this point, if you have been briefing her improperly, you know your legal career has about two minutes to run, because Britnah isn’t going to hold out under pressure.
If lawyers are so calculating and self-interested, why would they go out on that limb?
Nice analysis, Sanchez.
Duh!!!!!!!
If a bloke puts a $20 Uber on his plastic, not to mention a gallon of Smirnoff, that should be de facto consent in my view.
I don’t have to see Sancho. Running interference for the ethics for your comrades in the Vic Law society speaks for itself. I’d say you’re full of sh** but I’m feeling generous.
And what exactly is that supposed to mean?
Huh?
Are you accusing me of being a lawyer, Makka?
Very likely.
Also we’ll get to hear the Welcome to Cuntry say how indigenous elders, some 160,000 years ago posited that an eclipse formed only when a full Moon and that the Moon must be at or near one of the two points in its orbit where it crosses the ecliptic plane.
Apparently and allegedly and it is said by some – this is extremely simple to spot by people sitting in court throughout trials with the innumerable breaks they endure.
Both sides and the court will have received copies of the brief well before the start date of the trial. Therefore, the evidence presented shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone except the jury. Likewise – if someone’s evidence goes off on a tangent other than expected, people will tend to sit up and take notice.
A whole pile of notice.
Des was in on the pride jumpers. Loading up with Polynesian players and saying he never knew …Hahaha pull the other one. The club was being run by the coach, he was offering players big salaries without ever negotiating. Sure management is to take part blame but too much nepotism in the club.
