I’m not troubled by Custard’s prediction. Spirit of free, frank & open discussion, etc. etc. etc.
What troubles me is not custard’s wrong prediction. It’s the slightly loony basis on which it was made and the fact that instead of going back to reality and recognising that he’s been had, he’s doubling down. I like him, and don’t want to see him getting progressively loopier.

When they’re up and trump isn’t prez, what should he do? It’s not enough to shrug and say “I got it wrong.” He needs to look at the evidence and arguments he made to generate the prediction and work out which were flawed. It’s called learning from your mistakes. Failure to do this exacerbates your problems.
