I have to agree. I feel sorry for all the enterprises I see where the proprietors are desperately trying to establish normalcy – but find constant obstacles in staff and supply shortages. It must be very demoralising – especially when facing escalating operating costs from pre-pandemic levels.
While the economically prosperous world may have been inevitably facing a cynical downturn, I cannot but believe that the pandemic and the criminal way it was managed by governments will cause a greater downturn than would otherwise have eventuated.
According to NATO, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was in response to NATO moves eastward.
Rather than make a settled treaty with Russia, NATO was intent on provoking armed conflict with Russia. at US bidding.
Well, Ukraine is certainly now getting that. Ukraine should have a good hard look at what has become of former allies of US aggression. They won’t of course, while rivers of OPM are flowing through Kiev.

Indigenous activist behind Cheer Cheese campaign Stephen Hagan seeks $500k in Daily Mail suit
By NICHOLAS FINCH
A prominent Indigenous academic behind the campaign to rename Cheer Cheese has made good on a promise to sue the Daily Mail for racial vilification, after they allegedly falsely implied he would actively campaign to rename Paul’s ‘Smarter White’ milk.
Stephen Hagan, a former lecturer at The University of Queensland, is seeking $500,000 in damages from the Daily Mail, following an article which he claims “represented a deliberate distortion of the truth” by inferring he was offended by the milk.
Dr Hagan initially took his complaint to the Australian Human Rights Commission, seeking compensation from both the Daily Mail and Nine’s Today Show, who also reported the comments.
But after Nine apologised and provided a private settlement, Dr Hagan took action against the Daily Mail in the human rights division of the Federal Court.
In his application, Dr Hagan alleged the Daily Mail article falsely implied he was personally insulted by the ‘Smarter White’ milk brand, and said the article was written “to create a story where there was none, based on (his) race”.
Dr Hagan has previously led a successful campaign to change the name of Cheer Cheese from a racial slur.
The article included an interview with Opposition Indigenous Affairs spokeswoman Jacinta Price, who called the idea of renaming the milk “ridiculous”.
Dr Hagan has alleged Senator Price’s comments were included to “insult and humiliate him” and “incite readers against him” on the basis of his race.
But the Daily Mail has demanded the case be dismissed and Dr Hagan pay all costs.
The publisher’s defence filed to court claims Dr Hagan told a journalist about “conversations with people who did not buy Paul’s Smarter White Milk because the inference of ‘white’ and the connotation that white people are smart.”
“During the interview, (Dr Hagan) informed (the journalist) that he had not taken action in relation to the name of the milk, but if enough people brought it to (his) attention, he would be happy to write a letter to Pauls asking them to consider changing the name of the milk,” the defence reads.
However Dr Hagan denies this, saying he told the journalist explicitly he was “not offended by the name and had no intention of pursuing a campaign to change the name of Paul’s ‘Smarter White’ milk.”
He said the Daily Mail’s article “offended, insulted and humiliated” him, and “trivialised” his genuine concern and “race-based concern” with the Cheer Cheese campaign.
The article followed a post made by former NSW One Nation Leader Mark Latham, who commented that he was “surprised the mob haven’t cancelled (Paul’s Smarter White) milk”.
The headline of the Daily Mail article, which is no longer available online, said Dr Hagan, after forcing Cheer Cheese’s old brand from the shelves, “now wants Pauls to consider scrapping ‘Smarter White’ milk brand – because it’s offensive to Aboriginals”.
Dr Hagan has previously led several social justice campaigns across Australia, including the removal of the N-slur from a sign in the Toowoomba Sports Ground.
The matter is due for its first court hearing on October 9.

I want the Referendum to go ahead. Unless there is an amazing amount of cheating by the Yes voters, it will be a Great Big Fat ‘NO’ to the wokeists.
So the Shooters Farmers and Fishers Party in WA two weeks ago gave out memberships so free that my attempted $50 donation was zeroed out as well.
Three minutes later, Rick Mazza our former MLC announced he had joined the SFLs.
In my opinion, Rick would be a huge asset to any party; as a one man party room he achieved three major reviews for the good of his supporters and constituents.
All of these had very positive evidence and support.
All were fucked over and negated by demands of the bureaucracy.
Then in the Labor landslide that gave us McClown, Rick was turfed from State Parliament.
Perhaps he can do some good in the gutted mess of the WA SFLs.

So what about ‘Blackout’, Black Magic’, Black Looks’, ‘Black Balled’ and probably a few others? ‘White’ is just being picked on here.
And what about ‘Man Overboard’ for not being inclusive enough. Got to be a lot of stuff like that.

Every time one of these frauds casually accuses someone of racism expecting to be bulletproof because they claim to be indig, the game is now on.
A secondary positive is that it corners the arrogant judiciery. Decisions based upon judicial personal racial bias will occur but will eventually blow them up.

We went to the Doura Valley and spent a short time there. I have never tasted port like the stuff made at some of those small wineries. I’m guessing ours is too expensive and too small. 🙂

The Daily Mail can’t stop posting crap about these two idiots.
“Prominent Indigenous campaigner for the voice to parliament, Marcia Langton, has accused no voters of opposing the referendum because of “base racism” or “sheer stupidity” at a forum in Bunbury, Western Australia.”
Be prepared for an almighty revolt of the elites against ordinary working and middle class Australians. This Voice is our Brexit, it is our November 2016. If (and I suspect it will) the referendum goes down the drain, then the anger of the elites towards the plebs will be palpable. We will be made to pay for our wilful disobedience. This anger, this fury is already gaining traction. I’m reminded of the Erinyes from ancient Greek mythology, they were female deities who resided in Erebus, and they took vengeance on men. Marcia Langton is one of our own Erinyes, a woman who resides in a dark place, possessed and fuelled by hate, bile, spite, division, and loathing towards those of us who dare to disagree with her.
I was reminded again today of this smug elitist disdain in my confrontation with the YES spruiker (wearing a teal coloured t-shirt). You see, he doesn’t give a rat’s arse about indigenous men, women and children, his spruiking in Sydney’s Wentworth, perhaps the wealthiest electorate in the country, is all about making him feel good, it’s got nothing to do with improving the lives of the indigenous in dysfunctional communities. But it’s also something more sinister, it’s about control, about keeping people in their place. And if the rednecks refuse to kowtow to the elites of Wentworth, then they’re “racists”, they’re “dumb”. We’ve seen this time and time again, after Brexit, after November 2016. There’s an ideological war going on, and it’ time ordinary people started fighting this war.
I came to the conclusion a while back that whilst Karl Marx didn’t get much right, he did get one thing right, which is that most societal and ideological conflict IS class driven. It’s just that Marx would be very surprised to see how his philosophy has been turned around and upside down in the 21st century. It isn’t the working class revolting against the elites, no, no, no, it’s the elites revolting against the uppity ordinary, the aspirational poor, the downtrodden. Perhaps it’s always been like that, I don’t know but one thing I do know is that this “Voice” is a cudgel for the elites to bash us with, regardless of whether it gets up or not, we will forever be smeared as dumb and racist. And all I say to the likes of Erinyes Langton is…
Sticks and stones may break my bones
But your words, your insults and your smears shall never hurt me.
Because he has entry also. And hopes for similar treatment for his own family.
It’s the corrosive power of soft bribery.
It’s interesting that so many senior representatives (Noel, Albo, Marcia, yes, that’s you lot for a start!) of the “Yes” camp think it’s ok to lambast those who disagree with you, label them all manner of things and make threats upon them. (no more welcome to country .. do they seriously think we want or enjoy that crap?)
If you are trying to get everyone along to your way of thinking, it seems an odd thing to do, to me anyway.
Are they just so used to getting their own way by bad temper and shouting people down perhaps?
Stamping their feet and holding their breath till they get their own way even?
None of them appear to have any talent for negotiating at all, it’s all threats and shouting the moment they don’t get exactly what they want. Albo is no different either, but he has the advantage of the taxpayer’s purse.
Reconcilliation is a wasted word these days, there is no 2 way street, it’s all one way with zero responsibility or accountability. Noel even says, his people are horrified of responsibility.
The behaviour of the the “Yes” mob reinfoces why we should vote “No”.
*I see Noel is now telling everyone Tasmanians, that once the Voice is in, they can do whatever they like, even having 1,500 delegates would not trouble him. Thanks for sharing … mate.
The more I know, the more horrified I am of what is in store for Australians, the equal ones not the more equal ones, if this stupidity gets up.
My sister has just rung me to say that after reading today in the Oz about “Mob Tix discount scheme for Indigenous patrons”, she won’t be renewing her Oz Ballet subscription, a subscription she’s held for 28 years.
When I got upset, she said that we must fight this racist nonsense by pulling the dosh.
She’s right.
Someone stole her dress, JC. Florence is a den of thieves. No wonder the Medicis had their own private walkway.
What a trouper to carry on regardless though. Kudos.
Richard Marles made a good point in Parliament today. He said that the LNP had two “conceits” (ie claims of competence) – Defence & the Economy. He then went on to criticise their claims of achievement in both.
Given the complete stuff-up of the economy under Morrison & Frydenberg in the Covid years, and the failure of successive LNP governments to scour Defence of bureaucratic rubbish…..he has a point.

Hahahahaha. Thanks for the laugh, TE.
The Libs are all running for cover. Like currs. They want this out of the headlines as much as the Filth. Both sides are feverishly looking for a new headline as we speak, no doubt.
I’d add to that though, given how the US security establishment stalled the Syria pull-out, they would go nuts at such a executive decision to leave Europe and effectively dissolve NATO.
“Demand the discount as an original owner hailing from the Woolloomooloo tribe and if they question it become incensed at the racism been shown to you all your lives by these lilly white parvenus.”

Bit late for that, isn’t it, Linda? That’s what Ms Langton thinks of “NO” voters?
I recall a similar warning about the Boston marathon bombers going unheeded too. So much goodwill needlessly squandered.
You left out the important part.
So much goodwill needlessly squandered by the Demonrats. They made Russia look totally evil after 16 election, which was a complete hoax to get Trump. They continued this for years.
You know, the problem with Langton is that she just can’t help herself. Spite, vitriol, nastiness, loathing, and hatred just drips from her mouth.

No, both R and D have done this for 2 decades at least. And it was Lindsay Graham in Ukraine warmongering with a fellow Democrat in 2016.
“So much goodwill needlessly squandered by the Demonrats. They made Russia look totally evil after 16 election, which was a complete hoax to get Trump. They continued this for years.”
Yes, which is what Russian scholars, like the late Stephen Cohen, warned about. Cohen was no right-wing warrior, he was married to Katrina vanden Heuvel, who’s the editor of The Nation.
Generally the GOP has been decent about Russia. The Demonrats used Russia to create a toxic hoax. If you’re looking for outright perfection, you’re not going to find it on earth albeit with a few exceptions such as myself.

I don’t make this recommendation lightly, DB. At the moment, Europe is behaving like a front bar urger, standing behind the US, trying to make it look like they are being held back by the US.
Perhaps if the puny NATO partners had to actually do something without their big brother to shield them, a bit of sanity would prevail. I know if I was in Birmingham, Berlin or Prague, on the 6 PM bus home, I’d be more concerned with the idiots in my own government than with what Moscow is doing.

Yes, an incredible display of oppositional tantruming. I’ve seem similar things with people in ‘roid rages’, but they didn’t seem to think she’d taken anything. Hard to tell in a video. One thing that might relate this to the detransitioning video I put here earlier is recall how one in particular of those polite and middle class young women detransitioning commented on how testosterone was making her feel suddenly extremely violent and out of control? Putting the wrong sex hormones into a human body during teenage and early adult years, when things are still settling down, can cause all sorts of emotional sways. I felt sorry for this girl and the strange ideologies she obviously trying to live out. Of course she needed to be pulled up and she should have done some jail time; it might have been the one thing that could make her question what she was doing.
The police are heroes dealing with this sort of thing on a daily basis.
I’ve got a solution, Marcia. Stop paying sit-down money. Close down the funding of fake aborigines. We save $39bn which is manifestly being wasted, and by requiring everyone to work for a living, we shut down the places where all the bad stuff happens.
I’d also shut down the fake aboriginal jobs in universities, which would mean Marcia would need to get a proper job. It might be the making of her.
There has been no difference in the post-Cold War period. Enlargement under Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump, but the most stupid move was Bush Jr’s in 2007 inviting Georgia and Ukraine against the opposition of just about everyone.
Easiest political capital Albo could ever make is banning his team from chairman’s lounge until next election. They’d never follow his orders, tho.

You’re constantly trying to find an excuse for Russia while showing no respect for the opposing viewpoint.
These nations who want membership in NATO or the EU were utterly terrified of an unruly future Russia. It’s not so much that the US sought to weaken Russia; rather, nations that had been under the Soviet jackboot wished to never again experience it. The US was neither here nor there in this, but the pressure from the Western European countries and those nations seeking to break free of their shotgun marriage to Russia would all have had an effect on US policy.
You simply won’t acknowledge the intense resentment these individuals felt toward the Soviet jackboot.

Excuse? NATO enlargement as a Russian redline was acknowledged since the early 90s by everyone. It’s literally a Who’s Who of the foreign policy establishment. It’s hardly an excuse to recognize that moving eastwards would antagonize the Russians and that at some point this would likely lead to a confrontation.
Nonsense, JC. Re 1, those nations weren’t scared of Russia in the 90s or 00s. They wanted to relitigate not only their Soviet era grievances but also their Imperial era grievances through NATO. Re 2, Merkel and Sarkozy were opposed to Bush’s invitation to Georgia and Ukraine in 2008.

Spot on, Cassie.
However, Marxism is a top-down revolution where the ruling elite screws the working class and therefore doesn’t work in a democracy — only in bloody autocratic purges of dissident plebs.
For example, two of the Marxists driving the Yes campaign spent today trying to get the October 14 Yes vote below 30%.
Marcia Langton — backed up by federal blackfellas minister Linda Burnley — is a clueless Marxist academic who thinks it’s clever to accuse a majority of Australians of “racism” and “stupidity”.
Graham Richardson needs to come out of retirement and clean out the ALP’s current surfeit of hopeless political incompetents who don’t know how Australian democracy works.
“Which is fantastic.”
I agree, she can’t herself.
But getting to my earlier comment. Marcia, Marcia, Marcia and all the others Yessers are going to be vewy, vewy angry when it goes down the drain, and the shrieks of waacist, waacist, waacist will increase tenfold. We will be punished.

This highlights exactly my point in what I initially said. Again, you offer no views on how these people living under the Soviet boot felt about it all. It’s all how Russia feelz.
I never suggested they were afraid of Russia, either in the immediate aftermath of the breakup or in the near future, because of Russia’s weak state, but they damn well were worried about the medium term and longer. Otherwise, why join NATO and the EU. They didn’t have a gun to their heads, Soviet style, and were told to join or else. They applied and did so hurriedly.
Oh, please, Russia is grievance central. In fact, all of Europe is. However, that doesn’t mean those former Soviet satellites didn’t have a point. Of course they did.

calli, whose ego did you prick with your crocheting, or is it sewing needle?
You seem to get a downtick for every comment you make.
Andrew Bolt has on now a Presbyterian minister who is explaining that the welcome to country and acknowledgement of country are unacceptable to Christians. He said these aboriginal rites invoke pantheism which is completely incompatible with Christine teaching. I hope the Catholic clergy are watching this or someone shows it to them.
I thought the same when an acknowledgement of country was said before the Mass a few weeks ago. I protested sotto voce that it was blasphemy, the people in the row in front of me heard me but didn’t say anything.
I will say this.
If Brayden Maynard gets wiped out of a preliminary final by the AFL tribunal, it will be almost – almost – on par with the Wayne Harmes fit-up which cost the Pies the flag in 1979.
Disgraceful that it got so far in the first place.
It’s the drone, Gabor. The usual one.
Bereft of comment, all it has left is the index finger.

That’s a terrible fate. Vapers are now worse than Hitler.
‘Third-hand’ vape smoke linked to asthma, emphysema (Paywallian, 10 Sep)
Absolutely turn-it-up-to-eleven ludicrous. On the other hand maybe the Oz might say something about pot smoking? Nicotine seems for the Left to be the devil’s drug, but THC is holy to Gaia or something.
This was discussed the the paper I linked here a couple of days ago.
It’s animism, but the Pressbuttons get it.
Maybe it’s because she looks in the mirror each morning and sees the No Campaign
How many similar incidents will it take until those ridiculous useless lemons (i.e. EVs) are uninsurable?
She looks in the mirror each morning and sees the failure that is Marxism.
KD, it’s exactly what the AFL hoped to provoke by appointing a female lawyer who’s a social justice warrior as general manager of football operations.
The idea is to make AFL football safe for fragile female bodies not designed for such a collision sport who should be playing netball.
Welcome to girls football. Next stop: open slasher for transvestites.
Gabor, you were very keen on downticks. The weight of your lobbying appears to have fallen on me, not you.
She woz taken out of context youse guys! James Morrow reporting on Vinegar Tits:
Treated with respect says Mr Pearson. The no campaign are using racisty racist tactics, which remain unexplained. Could it just be as Ley, Price and Mundine say about this Voice, which is shit on steroids?
Pearson and Langton have lost all respect in this debate and should no longer be heard. Or as I said earlier, keep going because it’s free advertising for the no campaign and shines a light on the real frauds.

Never understood why females are attracted to contact sports, like football and boxing for instance.
SICKENING,You’ll never Believe what Just Happened in Maui, Oprah,The Rock!
Dragger and Tom, watching Footy Classified last night and one of the panelists suggested that none of McLaughlin, Dillon or Christian wanted this case to proceed. Christian apparently said if the case is persued, he would quit.
Look for the next week to be dominated by this action.
Tried to post a comment about Camari Plankton’s timely remarks earlier and kept getting “infernal server errors”.
Can’t imagine the ALPBC prominently reporting the remarks, unless they assert that she was merely stating the bleeding obvious, which wouldn’t surprise me in the least.
Most likely one of their hugely unlistened to Melbourne radio numpties will do exactly that.
Hope it was Bowen’s car. Daily Telegraph:

Still am in favour, it has mostly settled down as predicted, bar the few anomalies I can’t explain except morons being morons.
I could give you an example of someone who changed her style of commenting now gets only upticks.
I can only think of two members who would do the downs for a sport, one is too dim to do it by a script but has plenty of time on his hands, the other, currently and thankfully absent, but has the know how to do it remotely.
It’s popular amongst certain pretentious Aussie (and Cat) travellers to abhor the observed behaviour of fellow Aussie travellers.
Mainly, this stupid stems from the little Aussie traveller actually recognising fellow Aussies and being holier than thou about their almost inevitablly reasonable but national behaviour. Quite often these young folk are hugely more experienced and knowledgable travellers than those who choose to institute the cringe.
If occasional Cat travellers want to be truely disturbed by travelling companions:
Chinese tour groups whose minder will elbow you out of the way, scream through
his/her loud hailer and demand that the locals provide absolute prioity to them.
And, please, don’t talk about the Chinks on the ski fields.
Summer Dutch invading southern French villages and basically shutting out all other
tourists.
Poms and Germans on pissup expeditions to Prague.
Swedes on beaches anywhere – taking over.
Germans anywhere.
French in North Africa – overlords.
American Arts groups taking over museums to loudly discuss the Calvin Kline
interpretation of some mindless medevial murder picture picture.
In the many years that I have spent living overseas, The only time I was disturbed by Aussies was the Munich beer pissup. And, their reaction was a n appropriate counter to the closed shop nature of that event.
I always enjoyed the Celler Rats of Perrigor. Young student wine makers who every summer took Aussie tourists under their wing and ran fantastic cultural and adventure programs. They are the true Aussie traveller.
It’s 17:42 at the Ritz Carlton in Perth, waiting for the 17:30 IPA lecture to start. The nibbles are good, but the plonk is warm.
““infernal server errors”.”
I’m getting them too, odd.
Cassie what do you think the elitists will do to the ‘racist stupid’ No voter. Who don’t give a tinker’s cuss about the elites– I mean not getting an invitation to Pirate Pete and the Amphibian’s house party will be regarded as a relief rather than a punishment. I just want to be prepared.
Because no voters are big bigotty bigots.
Thanks BB, didn’t think my comment above would be borne out so quickly.
I have to say, the last few night and tonight, Andrew Blot has been sensational in his scathing, withering, denunciations of the Voice, and tonight he’s particularly on the mark wit the “Mob Tix” rort.
Someone is reflexively down ticking because last night within a minute of my posting a link to a performance of Beethoven’s 9th it was downed.
Cassie what do you think the elitists will do to the ‘racist stupid’ No voter.”
Firstly, they’ll legislate it which will be passed by Labor, the Greens and that peacock Pocock, secondly they’ll introduce, and again it will be passed by parliament because of the alliance between Labor, Greens and Peacock Pocock, those draconian free speech laws, thirdly, I believe that the assault on the middle class will be ramped up. Death taxes?
Michael Christian has no option but to resign, The new AFL management is attempting to turn Australian footy into a low-rating female-friendly farce that can’t support the latest multi-billion-dollar rights deal that will kill the Channel 7 coverage.
The new AFL CEO Andrew Dillon is the dumbest man ever born. He will kill the economic value of the TV rights deal.
Isn’t ‘mob’ an English word?
Oh that last one will please the millennials no end, but at least it isn’t in the constitution.
Tom and others have asked if NO can hit 70%.
We MUST platform and signal boost Marcia Langton here. It’s only fair!
thirdly, I believe that the assault on the middle class will be ramped up
of course they’ve ramped it up already- sneaky tax increases, massively increased immigration- Anal and his canbra pubes really do hate productive people
I have to say that Mark Powell, the Presbyterian minister, is most impressive.
18:03 and nothings happened yet. I’ll give them a few more minutes then I’m going home. I have a cigar half smoked. I’ve been bribed by the sausage rolls mini- burgers and warm, cheap, champlonk
Marcia’s way of doing things reminds me of the way Labor conducts its review after failed election campaigns.
Normal people might undertake some self reflection or critical analysis. The intention of such reviews is never to risk that.
Instead, blame the disaster on the lies and sneaky tactics of the other side. Who, us ?
You’re exceedingly cheap to satisfy, Doc.
They weren’t living under the Soviet boot anymore, for heaven’s sake. And it’s not even a question about how Russia ‘feels’. When Keenan wrote against NATO enlargement he was looking at how the enlargement of NATO (bases, common military training, etc. under the operational and strategic leadership of the US) would make Russia “feel”, he was looking at it in terms of how any great power would respond if another great power was moving towards it under the auspices of an alliance that involves the above, and he concluded that it would become intolerable at some point.
Why join aside from doing defense on the cheap, hitching one’s wagon to the biggest show in town in the post-Cold War era, getting access to the intelligence, surveillance network of NATO and possibly its weapons? Why indeed.
So the entire argument boils down to some vague concern about Russia in the medium to long term, and hurt feelings over events more than 30 years ago. It lacks substance. They’ve pursued a policy that has made an enemy of a friend and potential ally in the space of 20 years; of a country that was for a time well-disposed towards the West. It’s the stupidest foreign policy decision in the last thirty years that could still have been rescued late ’21 but even the last invitation to negotiate a way past was rejected.

Too true. I came for the lecture. And that still hasn’t started. We’ve got Scott Hargreaves talking. I’ll give him five minutes. 18:18. I’ve been cheated.
Given Pocock’s family history, Lee, does his support for The Voice show that he really thinks it’s vacuous, cost-free virtue signalling? Let’s hope that’s all it is if it passes.
Maynard cleared.
AFL lady lawyer will be getting to work clearing out the tribunal so she gets the ‘right’ decision next time.
Cassie of Sydney at7:52 PM
Nah, won’t happen.
Given Pocock’s family history, Lee, does his support for The Voice show that he really thinks it’s vacuous, cost-free virtue signalling?
I suspect not but I don’t know what’s going on inside his head
No.
The incidents with the Dutch/German and Kiwi at the ticket counter the other day got me thinking about the obnoxious traveller, and this dickhead just popped to front of mind.
I think the Japanese are unwittingly their own worsr enemies.
Helpful and polite to a fault, but some people exploit it.
Now it’s Jennifer Marohassy introducing the speaker. And she is also going on and on. An hour late and Happer still isn’t on.
I get bored easily. It’s so slow.
Question for anyone using note taking software, is Obsidian, Protolsyt, or the like worth the effort? I’m using OneNote more but wondering if they provide something more.
Pocock is a particular brand of stupid.
Jennifer is telling us about historical high temperatures. Preaching to the choir.
This is the last time I come to an IPA event. They seem to feel free to waste my time. I should bill them. Less the nibbles and plonk

Skip to 8:09 to get a hint of how the pressures on workers arise; through unrestrained corporate competition. Whether you see this as ultracapitalism or some more socialised fascism depends on whether it occurs with the knowledge or encouragement of the State. A case of splitting hairs, perhaps.
Someone here the other day was wondering how Apple has 20% of phone market share but 90% of the phone profits. Preventing international customers from paying for mental health maintenance of Chinese assembly workers is surely part of the answer.
Oh please do.
Terry McCrann has a few unpleasant things to say about the PM’s housing plan.
Today we went to the castle, which was rebuilt not so long ago. They demolished the WWII bunker for the 1970 expo which is a pity. Much about the Winter Summer wars of 1615, I think those clans feature in the Samurai detective novels by Laura Joh Rowland, I’ll have to read some more about the winners and losers.
Still stinking hot, though brief respite when it bucketed down early afternoon. Walked past the concert hall/stadium, apparently a K pop group are in town, 7 good looking boys affected a sort of Duran Duran Beatles cross over look, lots of girls waiting around in matching outfits with large face cut outs of their favourite boy bander.
I also noticed quite a few boy girl couples affecting matching outfits this evening, must be a thing
And despite what we’ve been lead to believe there are quite a few blondes in Japan.
Also ate ramen, fortunately with a bib.
YouTube just presented this “short” to me. Wow.

I’m home again.
The talk didn’t tell me much I didn’t know. It’s good to discover that there are still some honest and plain speaking scientists around. Whether there are enough to counter the bullshit spreaders is going to be the hard bit to live through. He recommended The Madness of Crowds as a list of similar past insanities.
At least I now have a chilled champlonk and a cigar now.
I’m going to keep contributing to the IPA, but I’m going to avoid any more meetings. I can listen fifty times as fast as they can talk, and they talk too much.
No way. It would compromise my antisocial principles.

Firstly, Trump is effectively the presumptive nominee, with unbeatable leads bar lawfare from within or without. Secondly, he has a commanding lead in IA. Thirdly, West running as a third candidate makes the task for Trump easier and makes ‘fortification’ that much harder.
I know.
And they say the first thing to wear out on an Italian Fiat is the horn.
Really want nothing to do with any of these people.
Sydney-based property investors on an ex-govt senators pension are very well clued up on what “males over 50” think.
Or the Labor & Labor voting ruling class are clueless about what anyone outside their inner circle thinks …
which is the root cause of why the Voice is failing.

The message from the establishment:
Elon Musk turned off Starlink over Crimea to knobbly the Ukrainians & must be punished.
Elon Musk responded today.
Starlink was never on over Crimea because of US sanctions.
He was called by Zelensky to turn it on to assist with an attack on Russian naval assets.
He didn’t turn it on.
He said if Biden called him, he would have turned Starlink on but we’ll never know.
