Hamas ultimatum: we will televise hostage executions

The Hamas terrorist group has threatened to record executions of Israeli hostages unless the Jewish state winds back its bombardment of the Gaza Strip, in a brutal ultimatum for the country as it prepares massive retribution against the militant group.

The warning came as Israel ordered a “complete siege” of Gaza in preparation for an offensive, halting the flow of food, water, electricity and fuel into the Palestinian enclave as it activated a record 300,000 reservists for its “Swords of Iron” campaign.

The Israeli military on Tuesday night (AEDT) said it had found the bodies of more than 1500 Hamas fighters inside Israel, bringing the overall death toll to more than 3100, and claimed to have the Gaza border secured against Hamas.

“We have gained full control over the border fence in the Gaza Strip. In the last day, not a single terrorist entered the fence,” an Israel Defence Forces spokesman said on Tuesday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed an Israeli response to the terrorist invasion of his country that would “echo down through generations”.

“Hamas terrorists bound, burned and executed children. They are savages. Hamas is ISIS,” Mr Netanyahu said, likening the group to the extremist Islamic State network.

The threat of the war expanding throughout the region also increased, after a deputy commander of the Israeli 300th Brigade, Alim Abdallah, was killed in clash with militants who had crossed the Lebanese border.

All dead HAMAS fighters will have a dead pig thrown into their grave…

Problem is, as well all know, this tracking system is for the “law abiding citizen” it doesn’t apply to those who are prepared to actually do damage…

Point #3 arising from the Hamas film festival of horror:

3) There’s been similar horror before, either not filmed, or not seen by the world’s normies, due to MSM censorship, of autistic leftard silicon valley social media firms censoring the reach.

What is different this time? Why did the video get out to the world?
Elon Musk is why. He lifted the suppression of “problematic” information & let the sunshine in.

Thus the whole world got to see the jubilation videos, made & uploaded in real time, for the viewing pleasure of all in the sphere of the … ahem… religion of peace.

The Hamas terrorist group has threatened to record executions of Israeli hostages unless the Jewish state winds back its bombardment of the Gaza Strip, in a brutal ultimatum for the country as it prepares massive retribution against the militant group.

I cannot see a way that these poor wretches can be saved. But there are several aspects that flow: whether the gutless msm covers what no doubt will be acts as heinous as anything ISIS did; whether the Israeli’s retribution, including hopefully the capture and drawing and quartering with camels of the hamas scum will be invested with moral outrage by the same msm. Whether iran suffers consequences ranging from strategic attacks on its assets or a nuking.

I really think any person in this country who supports what hamas has done and will do should be treated as a traitor. It won’t happen of course but it should. But a lesson here: if ever you are in a terrorist situation: going down fighting the scum in the first instance or surrendering and subsequently being tortured and executed is not a choice.

I spoke to an Israeli girlfriend today. We both said we’d rather be dead that endure what the captured women, if any remain alive (and I have my doubts), are enduring.

By the way, here’s a fact, a plain, stone cold fact, and that is rape and sexual slavery of Jewish and Christian women are core tenets of Islam and Islamic jihad.

Point #4 that springs into mind when downloading shedloads of horrific rape/murder/kidnap/torture videos uploaded by Hamas on Saturday:

4) Some of these videos are stomach churningly horrific. I’d never look at ’em again & never want anyone to see them, unless the need arises. The images cannot be bleached out of the mind.

As savage as these video clips are, the most horrific, most savage of the Hamas videos, are about level with the mildest of the images from South African murders of white farmers, of which many are far more sadistic, cruel, far more horrific in the torture, far more nightmare causing in their primitive brutal sadistic savagery, than Hamas could dream up.

Depends on obstacle material. If the obstacles are leaves from trees there are certain IR wavelengths that can go straight through that, which is exploited by LIDAR to map the ground underneath tree canopies. But that is basically the only situation where IR works. It will be blocked by any material you’re likely to find in residential rubble.

What you need for seeing through concrete is microwaves – radar basically.

It’s no wonder that Israel has realized that their gun control measures are getting their citizens hurt or worse. Horrifying video from border towns near Gaza shows Hamas fighters going house to house looking for Israelis.
Without access to firearms, Israeli citizens are helpless to defend themselves against these heavily armed fighters, resulting in kidnappings and killings.

Ask yourself if the Israeli death toll would have been higher or lower if they had been able to have military grade firearms.
If you say ‘higher’, then give yourself an uppercut.

These tunnels are in sand. Sand which is currently being subjected to heavy air strikes and artillery and will soon face the weight of tanks and armoured vehicles. Even reinforced ones will likely be crushed, or buried under the rubble of buildings.

There are two million Israeli Arabs in Israel and they are just as bloodthirsty as Hamas, when you lift the rock and check underneath it.

If Israel had less restrictive firearms laws it would be impossible to keep them from arming up. And when Hamas attacked guess what they’d do.

Israel tries to keep the Israeli Arabs quiet, they have the vote and are treated as citizens. Restricting firearm ownership to Jewish Israelis would feed the claims of apartheid that have dogged Israel for a long time. So they couldn’t do it that way. I think the current arrangements are as best they could politically dare to do – since there’re obviously enough firearms in the community that when an Arab goes postal they are usually potted pretty quickly.

All bets are off now though, and the government has justification to establish an effective apartheid and keep firearms out of the hands of the Israeli Arabs.

Luxury beliefs – When you hold passionate views about something that doesn’t actually affect you.

It’s like Boutique Power – when you have solar panels, a big Tesla battery, and drive around in an EV that is subsidised by extra taxes and charges on poor people.

This is why I think and always have that subsidies for electric cars and solar panels are immoral. Governments take tax money that was collected from all of us, even the poorest in the form of GST, and give to rich people who can afford these luxuries in the first place.

Another iniquity is that with more and more people living in high rise apartments they will never be eligible for such largesse in the form of subsidies yet must contribute to them for the rich single dwellings owners who can afford a partial cost. This must be particularly galling in the current mortgage squeeze.

When you look at who benefits it becomes clearer why the rich and the comfortably off vote for Labor and Greens.

From the Oz…

“Israeli soldiers discover the remains of 40 babies and young children, many beheaded, in a Hamas massacre at the kibbutz of Kfar Aza | Warning: graphic content”

I am trying to clear my throat before I begin this, and I’m trying to remain calm.

Firstly, where’ the pervert apologist? Note his silence? No condemnation of the Sydney Hamas get together, where there were screams of “gas the Jews”……a protest where NSW police stood by and looked on. Yet, you can bet your bottom dollar that our resident grub would have been littering these pages if a group of “far-right” men and women had assembled on the steps of the Opera House, let off flares, burnt an Israeli flag and screamed, screeched and shouted….”gas the Jews”. And you bet your bottom dollar that NSW police would have moved in if that protest had been done by a group of “far-far-right men and women”.

I suppose there’s one good thing in all of this, although I’m struggling to find anything “good”, but that is that the infected scab that is progressive puke hypocrisy has been torn off, including the scab that is our resident slimy grub. I’m sure he thinks the above was done because of Palestinian “legitimate grievances”? Beheading babies is “legitimate grievances”? Who knew? If anyone here still wonders why I’m so hard on the despicable grub, the above is why. The same pervert apologist who comes on here thumping his chest like some cartoonish magilla gorilla stating that he wants to “punch Nazis”, but here’s the truth, he and his ilk are now well and truly exposed for being the true Nazi apologists, for being the true Nazi supporters, for being the true Nazis.

So, please let me thank you for that, it’s always good to have clear air.

Decapitated babies is what Israel is now dealing with. I repeat, there is no moral equivalence between Israel and the Palestinians (and there never has been), but I should not even have to state this. Whether you agree with Israel dropping bombs on Gaza, whether you agree with the settlements, whether you agree with Israel’s right to exist, if you refuse to stand up and condemn the above then you are a Jew hater, you are a Nazi sympathiser, you are a Nazi. So, my message to the grub, to Burke, to Bowen, to the Greens, to Woollahra councillors, when you engage in moral equivalence, when you archly proclaim that you’re not “anti-Semitic”, you’re just “anti-Zionist”, the scab is off and this bullshit won’t stand (not that it has ever stood with me). I know who are the Nazi apologists, I have always known.

Some further thoughts….

I note Annie above rightly said that…

Please don’t insult animals. These terrorists committed pre-meditated utter brutality and murder.”

Annie is right, these Hamas terrorists, those terrorists on the Opera House steps, those spineless men and women in Labor and the Greens, those Palestinians who are engaging in moral equivalence, they’re not animals, even a salt water crocodile in Darwin Harbour possesses more moral fibre than those aforementioned murderers and their apologists.

I note that Jews are not safe, even in Australia, and don’t anyone dare accuse me of hyperbole because we Jews have been officially informed by no less than the NSW Police and the NSW government that we “are not safe to walk the streets of our cities”.

It is all clear now. I’m normally quite a vivacious person, as those Cats who know me can attest. But my vivacity has been diminished over the last few days. I am finding it very hard to smile, and I don’t think I can laugh for a long time.

USA 9/11 – approx 3,000 deaths = 0.001% of US population.
Israel – approx 1,000 deaths = 0.011% of Israel’s population.

Translates mathematically to roughly the eqivalent of 25,000 deaths.

The Iranians don’t have unlimited supply of weapons, it’s the ones Biden and Milley have left in Afghanistan that are being used by Hamas

To be honest, I have seen heaps of AK-47 variants and RPGs in the hours of videos I have reviewed, but very very few US manufactured weapons of any sort. I’d note that many IDF, Police, and Community Security posts were overrun on the 9th and presumably their weapons were seized by the Hamas scum.

It’s also very difficult to imagine how those AFG weapons and ammunition would have gotten smuggled from AFG into Gaza so fast.

I’m the last one to give Biden and his minions ANY pass on what they did in Afghanistan, but it appears that this meme stretches reality a bit.

All the civilised world needs to do is sit back and not interfere with Israel taking out the Hamas human garbage.

It sure does suck if you live in Gaza.
Maybe something to think about when you see Hamas moving around more rockets in history and decided to do nothing about it.
Also maybe something to think about the next time you vote (even though they haven’t had presidential elections in 17 years they’ve had local elections that are supportive of Hamas).

With two million Israeli Arabs I expect you could easily find 20,000 observant fighting males. Hamas long ago penetrated the Israeli Arab community and has said several times they are trying to get them involved.

Hamas: ‘We will bring Israeli Arabs into the next fight” (Jun 2023)

And they’re already inside the borders, and all over the country, not just concentrated in the SW corner. But without firearms it is hard to stage a widespread assault. There’s only so much you can do with knives and cars.

The IDF so far have collected 1,500 dead Hamas and IJ jihadis from Israel territory. Perhaps twice as many as that invaded.

Having 23,000 jihadis roaming around everywhere rather than 3,000 in the southwest, the result would be far far worse. Tel Aviv would be a nightmare.

Last time was in 2021 when Hamas fired a couple of thousand rockets after one of their commanders was killed. Israeli Arabs then rioted and attacked Jews.

Night of Fear: Jews Attacked by Israeli Arabs Across Israel (May 2021)

I expect they will be more subdued this time since it is absolutely clear the Israeli government is not about to take and crap from them.

Hamas kills 40 babies and children — beheading some of them — at Israeli kibbutz: report

Hamas terrorists slaughtered at least 40 babies and young children — decapitating some of them — at a kibbutz near the Gaza border, shaken Israeli officials and reporters at the scene said Tuesday.

“It’s hard to even explain exactly just the mass casualties that happened right here,” visibly distraught i24 News correspondent Nicole Zedek said during a broadcast from Kibbutz Kfar Aza near Sderot about a quarter-mile from the Gaza Strip.

“Babies with their heads cut off, that’s what [the soldiers] said. Gunned down. Families gunned down, completely gunned down in their beds,” Zedek said of the “sheer horror.

“This is nothing that anyone would have even imagined,” she said.

Top CNN reporter Nic Robertson, dressed in a military helmet and flak jacket, said, “There were so many murdered members of this Kibbutz.

“Men, women, children, hands bound, shot, executed, heads cut,” he said.

French journalist Margot Haddat added in a translated tweet, “It’s so macabre that no one wanted to reveal it until they had 100 percent confirmation.

“It is a horror, a massacre. For those asking for the source. They are multiple: Israeli army, internal intelligence service and atrocious images which reached me and which I was able to cross-check,” she said. “But the best source remains this: courageous journalists from the foreign press who were able to see / agreed to see with their own eyes the bodies in Kfar Aza.”

Kfar Aza was one of several Israeli kibbutzim attacked by Hamas over the weekend when extremist militants crossed from Gaza into southern Israel and unleashed a barrage of violence that gave way to an all-out war between the two sides.

Around 70 Hamas terrorists are believed to have carried out the atrocities at Kfar Aza with guns, grenades and knives, i24 News said.

“It’s not a war,” said Gen. Itai Veruv, head of the IDF’s Depth Command, to reporters. “It’s not a battlefield. You see the babies, the mothers, the fathers in their bedrooms, in their protection rooms, and how the terrorists kill them. It’s not a war. … It’s a massacre.

Finland investigates suspected sabotage of Baltic-connector gas pipeline (BBC, 11 Oct)

Finland says damage to an underwater natural gas pipeline with Estonia on Sunday may have been deliberate and was probably caused by “external activity”.

The Baltic-connector pipeline was shut down after a sudden drop in pressure. A telecoms cable was also damaged.

Norway’s seismological institute, Norsar, said it had detected a “probable explosion” along Finland’s Baltic Sea coast at 01:20 on Sunday (22:20GMT on Saturday). The event was measured at 1.0, far smaller than the explosions that targeted the Nord Stream pipelines in September 2022.

The Finland-Estonia gas pipeline is probably smaller than Nordstream, so a smaller charge would probably be sufficient. Gas pipelines seem to be on the endangered species list lately.

This is a legitimate reason to shut the ABC down.

Egypt Tries to Prevent Mass Exodus From Gaza Strip (10 Oct)

Egypt is moving to prevent a mass exodus from the Gaza Strip into its Sinai Peninsula, as Israeli bombardments halted crossings at the only exit point from the Palestinian enclave on Tuesday, Gaza officials and Egyptian security sources said.

Israel’s assault on Gaza has caused alarm in Egypt, which has urged Israel to provide safe passage for civilians from the enclave rather than encouraging them to flee southwest towards Sinai, two Egyptian security sources said.

Egypt seems to’ve gotten on top of the Sinai insurgency, which was mostly claimed by ISIS, and I suspect they really don’t want another bunch of homicidal maniacs to have to deal with.

If ground penetrating radar can show up all the underground aquifers in the river Nile, why can’t it detect tunnels?

It probably could, as could other geophysical techniques, such as resistivity. The problems for all of this is the relatively small size of a tunnel and the shallowness.

The size means whatever survey you used would have to be closely spaced to detect the anomaly (the tunnel) – with line spacing comparable to the width of the tunnel. It also means ground survey, rather than airborne.

Not sure how that would work out in terms of logistics and military control of the area being surveyed.

The shallowness means that the tunnels are likely driven through broken and non homogenous ground. Under these conditions the return signal is likely to be confused and difficult to discriminate.

True. But halting the march and standing up in front of them with a bullhorn quite literally reading them the riot act would have given fair warning and enforcing the law of no marching without a permit would have either solved the whole thing before it got started or caused the riot ‘we had to have’.

Instead they enabled the law breakers and reinforced the idea that they are powerful enough to do what they want regardless. I’d wager my last dollar that instead they were given the “go ahead but be nice” signal from the cops or their highers.

There is a crossover population size where this happens and the latent threat of violence controls government behaviour (see Europe over the past 40-50 years for multiple case studies).

In liberal democracies this results in no-go areas and ‘community policing strategies’ designed to minimise the social consequences of easily roused rage.

For those in the activist business, this is a rich avenue of upward control of the host community.

A large cohort of borrowers who locked in very low fixed rates face a big increase in debt repayments once their deals expire. This is known as the “fixed rate mortgage cliff” – about 880,000 borrowers will be affected throughout 2023 followed by another 450,000 in 2024.

In my opinion, the entire Australian security state — from state police forces up to and including ASIO — is now on the side of Middle Eastern terrorists.

In particular, the NSW police force is one of Hamas’s useful idiots abroad in protecting Australia’s wannabe Islamic terrorists in Sydney.

I’ve just run into a prominent person who writes for the Oz. We often have lively chinwags when we run into each other (he likes my rants), but this morning I told him I was quite depressed about what has happened, and particularly so that I’m no longer safe in my own city, having been duly informed of this by the NSW police and government.

I told him what I witnessed on Monday morning at Town Hall, and he told me what he witnessed on Monday night, he was attending a function in offices, and they heard and saw the commotion of the Nazis walking down to the Opera House, and those Nazis were being personally escorted down to the Opera House by the NSW police.

This is exactly what happened at Pell’s funeral, when the far-left scum were personally escorted past the cathedral doors by NSW police.

I can’t find the words to express my outrage.

James Morrow:

Lighting the sails of the Opera House after a far-away tragedy has become a sort of civic ritual.

It may not do anything to help people practically, but it is an act that sends the message that we as a city are on the victims’ side.

Of course, the point is missed if the community affected is told to stay away from the Opera House lest their very presence cause trouble and make them victims themselves.

Yet to Sydney’s great shame, and the shame of the Minns government, on Monday night NSW Police told Jews to stay away from Sydney’s most internationally iconic structure when it was lit up in the colours of the Israeli flags to show solidarity after the weekend’s horrific terrorist attacks. Why?

Because a group of thugs, whom the cops allowed to set off flares and scream “f..k the Jews”, wanted to vent their bile on the forecourt of the Opera House.

What a terrible message to send to the city and the world.

Think about it.

As Israelis were being slaughtered and fighting for their right to live in peace in the Middle East, Jews in a country that took in so many of their number after the Holocaust were told by NSW Police to stay locked up and out of sight to prevent trouble.

This would be the same police force that appeared to have made no arrests of pro-Palestine screamers but who did earlier in the evening forcibly manhandle a counter-demonstrator with an Israeli flag away from Town Hall, lest he provoke the mob.

What message does that send about who can speak and who cannot, and to whom the rules do and do not apply and ultimately who gets, in practice, to make them?

What could Chris Minns, whose instincts are normally very common sense (think mobile phone bans in schools, restoration of speed camera signs, that sort of thing), have been thinking?

At the very least Minns and his police minster, Yasmin Catley, should be made to explain just why Jews and anyone else who wanted to attend the lighting of the sails for a moment of quiet reflection and solidarity could not be kept safe.

Sadly, the answers are not likely to be pretty.

Nor are some of the other questions that must be asked.

Questions like, did the government and police leadership fear public confrontation with potentially violent meatheads who came out to celebrate – let’s be really clear here – the mass slaughter, torture, kidnapping, and rape of innocent civilians by Hamas terrorists?

It’s not hard to put one’s self in the boots of frontline cops forced to watch Monday night’s display and stand stoically in the face of wanton lawbreaking (lighting flares and religious vilification, among other things, being illegal in NSW).

How demoralising.

Likewise, did the Minns government not want to get off-side with Lebanese-Australian and other western Sydney communities where local leaders have praised Hamas’s actions?

If so, what a way to undermine the logic of official multiculturalism, and force to the forefront questions about just how much tolerance really exists when you scratch the surface of this gorgeous mosaic.

And then there is this: Did the Minns government want to avoid provoking further outcry from the Greens on their left flank who have taken the side of the Palestinians?

One of the weirdest features of modern politics must be the alliance between radical urban Greens and the Palestinian cause.

After all, the Greens stand for the rights of every sexual minority under the sun and view traditional religion with all the enthusiasm of a vampire for garlic.

Meanwhile in Palestine, gays are thrown off rooftops and one of the biggest supporters of the cause is homophobic, theocratic Iran.

Hatred of the West sure makes for strange bedfellows.

Yet anyone who spent time on social media Monday saw the way the Greens hive-mind seemed to coalesce around support for Palestine and table-thumping outrage at any expressions of support for Israel.

Newtown Greens MP Jenny Leong – to take one example of many – blasted the federal Labor government for condemning Hamas and the state Labor government for lighting up the Operea House in support of the Jewish state.

After Defence Secretary Richard Marles tweeted about the “unprovoked attacks from Hamas militants” (again, they’re terrorists, but we’ll give him a pass), Leong went off.

“Unprovoked?! This is a disgraceful statement from Defence Minister Richard Marles. It is also appalling that tonight the Opera House will be lit up in support of Israel – what about all of the Palestinian lives lost since occupation?”, she tweeted.

“Apparently lighting up the Aust(ralian) Parliament and Sydney Opera House in support of those bombing Palestinian people in Gaza into oblivion is legit. Disgraceful to see political leaders fail to recognise the complexity and reality of this human rights and humanitarian crisis.”

When the unspeakable brutality of Hamas, which is on display for anyone to see who cares to look, is blurred into “complexity”, we are in strange times.

When Jews are told not to gather on the Opera House forecourt in solidarity, I fear, we are in dark ones as well.

Luckily, the UN is taking strong measures:

Commission of Inquiry collecting evidence of war crimes committed by all sides in Israel and Occupied Palestinian Territories since 7 October 2023

Reports that armed groups from Gaza have gunned down hundreds of unarmed civilians are abhorrent and cannot be tolerated. Taking civilian hostages and using civilians as human shields are war crimes.

The Commission is gravely concerned with Israel’s latest attack on Gaza and Israel’s announcement of a complete siege on Gaza involving the withholding of water, food, electricity and fuel which will undoubtfully cost civilian lives and constitutes collective punishment.

The Commission is intent on ensuring legal accountability, including individual criminal and command responsibility. To that end, the Commission is committed to investigating current events and identifying those responsible for violations of international law on all sides, both those directly committing international crimes and those in positions of command responsibility. It will continue sharing information collected with the relevant judicial authorities, especially with the International Criminal Court, where the Office of the Prosecutor has already commenced an investigation on the situation of Palestine since 2021.

I suspect that the baby killers will now be shitting themselves at the prospect of having to face the International Criminal Court.

All this talk of protests without a permit and unsavoury things said at said protest is short sighted – the real point is that citizens MUST be free to (peacefully) assemble and MUST be allowed to say their piece. That some of them say things we dont want to hear is the price we pay for freedom. Free speech isnt free if we restrict speech we dont like.

Morrow may have got this wrong.

Rev. Leach was at the Town Hall and waved the Israeli flag. He was chased by Islamist goons and ran in fear of his life. He was offered assistance by police, who had little other choice given the circumstances.

The gentleman who waved the flag at the Opera House (Mark Spiro) was arrested and taken away by police to “keep the peace”. He was later released.

“If it is possible, I am even more angry at the apologists of these murders of women and children.”

Umm…yes…..as am I. I think Melanie Phillips has said it best in a piece she’s uploaded in the last 24 hours….

‘A community forged in pain’

Murdered at their home on Kibbutz Nir Or: Yonatan and Tamar Kedem and their children, Sharar and Arbel, 6, and Omer, 4. May their memory be a blessing.

I am in Israel, where the sense of collective grief, horror and anxiety is off the scale. The situation that unfolded last Saturday is beyond the worst Israeli nightmare.

As thousands of missiles were fired into Israel from Gaza, around one thousand Hamas terrorists stormed across the border fence and attacked communities in towns, villages and kibbutzim across the south of the country.

Their aim was the mass murder of Israeli civilians. They went from house to house slaughtering the occupants and burning down their homes.

They gunned people down in their cars; they killed elderly men and women and small children; they hacked one Israeli to death with an axe. At an open-air music festival, armed paragliders mowed down at least 260 young people who were raked with gunfire as they ran for their lives.

Women were raped and burned alive; the bodies of murdered Israelis paraded around Gaza were stripped naked, spat upon and desecrated; babies were slaughtered in front of their parents; mothers with children in their arms were abducted and swallowed up with others in Gaza’s subterranean infrastructure of terror tunnels to be used as hostages. Their likely fate is unthinkable.

Heartbreaking images are now seared forever into the mind: an elderly, terrified Holocaust survivor being abducted into Gaza without the medication needed to keep her alive; a small Jewish child, alone and bewildered, being tormented on a Gaza street by Palestinian children who are all taught to hate and murder Jews.

Israel has been at war many times. It has experienced many terrorist atrocities and many thousands of rocket attacks.

This was something different. Barbarism and depravity against Jews on this scale hasn’t been experienced since the Holocaust.

In a country that arose from the ashes of that genocide, the spectacle of Jews being dragged from their homes to be slaughtered, raped or captured, with desperate parents throwing themselves on their children to protect them as the parents were murdered, was unspeakable.

This wasn’t just terrorism. This was a pogrom.

At time of writing, the number of those murdered has risen to more than 900, with 2400 wounded and between 100 and 150 being held captive in Gaza. Israel is a tiny country of some nine million people. The equivalent of this toll in Britain would be 6,300 murdered, 16,800 injured and 700-1050 taken hostage.

Because Israel is so small, there’s hardly any family that hasn’t been caught up in this. Most Israelis have children, grandchildren or other relatives who have been called up from this conscript army’s reserves to serve on the front lines.

Hardly anyone doesn’t know of someone who has either been murdered or dragged into the Gaza hellhole. Untold numbers of Israelis are grieving, traumatised or frantic with anxiety about their relatives who have either been killed or are in harm’s way.

And the emergency for the domestic population is still very much on. Twice while writing this piece, I had to leave it and and seek shelter as the air-raid sirens started once again to wail, followed by the boom of the anti-missile Iron Dome intercepting (I hoped) more bunches of rockets aimed at Jerusalem.

More alarmingly, an unknown number of Hamas infiltrators are still at large. We’ve been told to keep off the streets wherever possible. Schools and many cafes and restaurants are shut. People are too frightened to travel to work.

We have other terrors. There’s the fear that a second, even more devastating front may open up in southern Lebanon, where Iran’s proxy army Hezbollah has installed some 150,000 missiles which can reach the whole of Israel.

These missiles, some of which have already been fired, have been sited (as in Gaza) among homes, schools and hospitals, with the Hezbollah using Lebanese civilians as human shields against any attempt by Israel to destroy the terror infrastructure.

And there are fears that a third front may also open up among the Iran-radicalised Palestinian Arabs of the “West Bank”, cheek by jowl alongside central Israel’s communities.

Yesterday, the IDF’s Home Front command released instructions telling Israelis to make sure they are stocked up on food and water for at least 72 hours. It advised that safe rooms be stocked with water, non-perishable food, flashlights, batteries, phones and battery-powered radios along with mobile charger banks, first aid and other essentials. This is the clearest signal that the war may soon become far more devastating still for the civilian population.

Despite or because of this, there’s a tremendous and uplifting feeling of camaraderie here, a real sense of “we’re all in this together and we’ll get through it, whatever lies ahead”.

People are queueing to donate blood, volunteering in hospitals and on army bases, or cooking batches of food to send to the young conscript army now facing untold peril on the front lines.

The horrors that we’ve all seen have brought people together. Everyone is looking after each other. And with so much to cause grief or dread, so many at present need that support. This is a community forged in pain, as well as hope.

Our anxieties are compounded by what we all know. We all know that the real enemy we are facing in this onslaught is Hamas’s paymaster, Iran.

We all know that the Biden administration’s unconscionable appeasement and funding of both Iran and the Palestinians helped facilitate this pogrom.

We all know that the nine-month internal Israeli battle over the composition and policies of the Netanyahu government weakened Israel and advertised this vulnerability to its foes.

We all know that the Palestinian Arabs’ century-old war of extermination against the Jewish homeland has been sanitised, encouraged and further incentivised by western liberals, who spread the Palestinians’ lies about Israel and for whom Jewish victimhood gets in the way of the “progressive” narrative of Israeli “oppression” and Palestinian “resistance”.

I divide my time between Jerusalem and London. But at present I wouldn’t want to be anywhere other than in Israel, sharing this latest seismic development in the destiny of the eternal people.

Jews are well integrated, deeply committed citizens of western countries, to the credit of all concerned. Most British Jews wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

But our history as Jews teaches us that not only is our Jewish identity formed by living as one people alone; we fight as one people alone, and we die as one people alone. We have no other choice. The world has made it so.”

It is the progressive left across the West who’ve enabled these Nazis.

From Dot’s link:

Trees may remind African Americans of lynching, slavery

How odd then that they don’t remind whites of that at all.

Between 1882 and 1968 there were approximately 4743 people lynched in the US. It’s true that 3446 of them were blacks, but 1297 of them were white. Not all involved hanging and contrary to popular lore, these lynchings took place throughout the US, not just in the southern states.

Alas, it’s no longer surprising to find supposed centers of higher learning promoting this A-historic feux victim hood.

Universities are offering Indigenous staff and students to apply for special consideration for their assignments and time off due to a rise in emotional trauma from the Voice to parliament referendum.

In a letter sent to staff on Monday, University of Melbourne Deputy Vice Chancellor (Indigenous) Barry Judd said Indigenous students are allowed to apply for special consideration for specific exams or assessments.

The university has also implemented special leave provisions for Indigenous staff for the remainder of 2023, with managers and supervisors asked to recognise the “burden” requests for commentary on the referendum has imposed on staff.

Such support will be available for students and graduate researchers struggling with trauma associated with the referendum until the end of the examination period on November 17.
