But good for them !!! They make the argument for me on my behalf and go on to refute it….

“Angry of Mayfair” ….. these little snots cant even make thier own argument for us to refute !!!! They rely on US for EVERYTHING !!!!

“Disgusted of South Bunbury” grunts in approval !!!!

“I’m not an expert so how do I know if he is an expert? There’s a vicious circle to go nuts about.”

Relax Brother if you haven’t gone nuts already, likely you wont soon .

… it is the same for all of us…. Think about what you do know something about … then ask yourself why ?

Then if you have to rely on someone else’s expertise you need then to explain ” so how are you so sure?” ..it helps to be dealing with honest objective and an actual expert.

They can tell you …

There are certain things about which we can never be sure… my kink is propaganda. …

I am probably going to publish a Jane’s Book of Hillarious Propaganda … and I am sure the Australian Broadcasting Commission will get me on all the Breakfast proggs just to hear my convincing baritone…

My belief is that if I Love it enough to Hate it I can go to Heaven as a good Catholic boy … But in the mean time it is fascinating …

Peace …

As far as I know second guessing Redemption is the snare … to think too hard … to over egg the custard….

Redemption is not some distant race run ..it is right here and now… and it doesnt even have to involve being supportive of those around you …. those brave enough to come within your range of fire … but of course and etc … sometimes you can be your own Saviour … lets face it .. it you are in a together crowd possibly the all have their …pearls on a string … sometimes that might make the most sense … but you gotta settle down enough to understand the questions and address them …

When i was training blokes on crazy machines …. I used to say …. “The Life you save might just be Mine” …..

Yup !!

You people interest me strangely …it isnt as If i am a stranger to electronic communications … I remember the Internet when we all just used our real names and could say what ever we liked … we felt Free at last .. but I was running BB on a PDP 11… (anit bullshitting it was a PDP 11 ) Fastest boot of any comupter I ever worked with ..

Was it really that long ago when our freedom meant the electrons in our hair ? Remember when Virtual Worlds just turned out brains inside out ? It want that long ago that we were watching Black and White TV ..and now I am frolicking with a woman from Newfoundland who has MS ..in a beautiful world of communication and kindness and healing …

How these Bastards would want to shut down our ability to communicate and we knew they were going to try … and to some degree they have succeeded …

You People call your selves Conservatives? But all you can do is bitch and insult and nit pick … and all the while thinking that you are a font of Philosophical rectitude.

Take a step back and look at your selves … !!? Pretty Please ??

and I am not trying to knock a corner off you ..or score a rhetorical point …

Our time on God’s Green Earth is so limited … the End come sooner ..I use to work in a Mortuary …. No one dies Pretty …

Best you can do is dive into that “Goodnight ” with a decent claim to having ” given it a bloody good Go !! You might dive into the arms of your Savoir or dive into Oblivion … alls we will know is the at you haven’t posted …. things you might have posted diffenty … but In the Final Analysis … no one will miss you at all .

Partly tongue in cheek Mark. The problem with youtube and blogs is that often we have to trust the person’s assertions but I have to check their arguments and that takes time. If they fail a few times I’m done with ’em. I’m wary of people who express much confidence and little doubt.

I like Crick’s idea:

“At times I even persuade myself that I can glimpse some of the answers, but this is a common delusion experienced by anyone who dwells too long on a single problem.”

The Astonishing Hypothesis: The Scientific Search for the Soul

What is funny about that is his former protege Koch in 1998 made a bet with the Aus philosopher Chalmers that by 2023 year the mystery of consciousness would be solved. Koch lost that bet. I’m not even sure about Chalmer’s hard problem argument and I’m certain we don’t understand consciousness but on other hand it may admit to a trivial solution. IIT and GWT (theories about consciousness) are not even wrong.

Andrew Bolt:

It’s telling that so many anti-Israel protesters are tribalists who share a hatred of the West and its most distinctive values – freedom and individuality.

This is not really a peace protest.

As the Middle Eastern saying goes: “After Saturday comes Sunday.” After the Jews, then the Christians. On in this case, the free West.

Start with the core protesters.

Many are Muslims, seemingly unfazed that this war was started by the Hamas terrorist group when it brutally slaughtered 1400 Jews three weeks ago.

Not one prominent Muslim group has condemned Hamas for the mass murder, rapes, torture and kidnappings.

Indeed, some Sydney Muslims celebrated with fireworks; imam Ibrahim Dadoun shouted he was “elated”; some protesters chanted “gas the Jews”; Sydney University academic Fahad Ali told a protest: “I’m not going to stand before you and shed tears over the settlers.”

To repeat: after Saturday comes Sunday.

Hamas is funded by the Islamic fascist regime of Iran, which also calls for “death to America”.

A Hamas delegation last week flew to Russia, now switching its support from Israel in hope more Muslim nations will in return back its invasion of democratic and Christian Ukraine.

Also among the anti-Israel protesters are Aboriginal race-mongers such as Senator Lidia Thorpe, who wore a Palestinian scarf in parliament when she likened white Australia to Israel as an ‘illegal occupier”.

Larissa Baldwin-Roberts, the far-Left GetUp boss, teamed her own Palestinian scarf with Aboriginal-styled earrings on the ABC’s Q&A, and said chanting for Israel’s destruction “from the river to the sea” was not “hate speech” but a “call for freedom”.

Then there’s the Greens, so hostile to capitalism and the United States. Greens senators wore Palestinian scarfs, and voted against denouncing Hamas.

Many other global warming zealots also side against capitalist Israel. Warming priestess Greta Thunberg tweeted a picture of herself holding a sign: “Stand with Palestine.”

Then there’s the hard-Left, also anti-Israel. The National Tertiary Education Union demanded Israel stop fighting back and accused it of “apartheid and ethnic cleansing”.

The picture is becoming clearer. Backing the Hamas-led Palestinians are many tribalists in revolt against the West, including race-baiters, eco-alarmists and Marxists.

These are internal enemies of our values of freedom, including economic freedom. We also now face external enemies – a new alliance of anti-Western authoritarian regimes, comprising Iran, Russia and China.

At stake is not just Israel. This, like the war in Ukraine, is also a battle for Western civilisation.

Crash and burn news.

Last-ditch EU-Australia trade deal talks suddenly collapse in bitter blow for Brussels (29 Oct)

The talks between Brussels and Canberra, which had been taking place on the sidelines of a G7 meeting in Japan, were seen as a final attempt by the two to solve their differences.

However, these discussions soon broke down and collapsed.

According to reports, one of Australia’s main goals is to gain access to Europe’s beef, sugar, and sheep meat markets.

On the other hand, Brussels is reportedly keen to gain access to Australia’s large reserves of strategic minerals.

Ah well, trying to get access to EU markets for agricultural exports is bit of an ask. They’re incredibly protective of their farmers except for when they persecute them with silly green policies.

Bloomberg news: Carbon Offset Market Faces Chaos as African Mega-Project Collapses – ‘Raises new doubts about the carbon market’s ability to backstop failures’ (28 Oct)

The breakup of the partnership behind one of the world’s biggest carbon projects in Zimbabwe raises new doubts about the carbon market’s ability to backstop failures.

The integrity of one of the largest single sources of credits in the $2 billion carbon market faces serious doubt following the collapse of the partnership behind Kariba, a mega-project in Zimbabwe backed by the world’s top seller of carbon offsets.

Quenthland news – Labor MPs reading the room yet again (the Courier-Mail):

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has again failed to appear at a rally against youth crime happening outside a building she was in, this time sending a Labor backbencher who proceeded to mock protesters as a “rent a crowd” and “bloody LNP”.

Ms Palaszczuk and her ministers were attending a community cabinet meeting at Townsville’s Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Sunday when a group of protesters converged on the venue.

Despite local Labor Mayor Jenny Hill saying the concerns being raised were reflective of the community’s feeling, Member for Thuringowa Aaron Harper – the only Labor MP who was game to front the rally – lost his cool while being heckled by the crowd.

“When you actually want to hear from me I’ll start,” he said. “You called me here so I’m either going to bloody speak or I’m not.

“I bet you if I walked around half of you are bloody LNP anyway. Old rent a crowd.”

Harper – do your job.

Uncle Luigi; doing standup comedy on the World Stage:

Anthony Albanese says he won’t ask Joe Biden to intervene in Julian Assange case

Mr Albanese has repeated his view on the drawn-out saga that “enough’s enough” and said he wants the case brought to a conclusion – but not necessarily through a presidential intervention.

“Joe Biden doesn’t interfere with the Department of Justice — Joe Biden is a president who understands the separation of the judicial system from the political system. That’s an important principle.”

Boom-tish.

And, no, look, wait here’s another one:

He [Albanese] has suggested Australia, as a “middle power”, can help play a role in improving engagement between Beijing and Washington.

He vowed to deliver some straight talk on China’s role in global affairs – and express concerns about human rights abuses.

“I think both China and the United States probably see Australia as playing a role. We are a middle power,” Mr Albanese said.

Great that he’s scored some new material. Personally, I think China will be pissing itself larfing at the prospect of Abronese playing his middle power role.

I’m old enough to remember the media honking, cackling, and jeering at John Howard’s Deputy Sheriff joke. Apparently it’s the way he tells them…

“Russia is suffering heavy losses in TRENCH WARFARE!”

This is absolutely correct. The losses are staggering. The fronts have barely moved. Ukraine however have breached the Dnipro. “It was just a feint!” carries on.

The idea that the front can hold forever with staggering losses, it is planned this way or eliminating Russian forces somehow benefits Russia is pure cope.

Now we’re going to get a lecture how F-16s are bad planes (LOL, literally the most successful modern multi role fighter plane) and how the joke Black Sea fleet (sunk by a far inferior force) somehow still exists.

In order to reunite Russia, Putin has turned Ukraine into a wasteland and demographically ruined the motherland of Russia proper. He has crippled the Russian economy and made actual reunification of a greater Russia unpalatable for generations. He’s no Peter the Great. He’s no statesman. He’s just like our worst politicians but with unconstrained power.

He’s failed in every objective he made out he had bar one, eliminating the Azov regiment for President Zelensky. RIM and Rusich will continue on of course. Russian Nazism is acceptable – what do you expect from a Hamas supporter?

Sancho I wasn’t confident that it wouldn’t happen. Good that we haven’t degenerated to the extent the US has.

As I and others said before October 14th it is structurally more difficult to fix an election here than in the US, and to hide the fix afterwards.
Our voter rolls are far tighter in terms of interstate address changes and relieving deceased persons registrations.
And compulsory voting makes massive voter dumps more easily detected. Imagine if the referendum turnout was, say, 12 million out of an enrolment of 17.6 million, and Yes trailed by 2,000,000 votes?
I am not saying it can’t and didn’t happen, but fixing a referendum is really difficult.
You basically have to fix the national vote and fix it in the right states.
The risk is far greater in a Reps election where the fixers target 5-6 marginal seats for vote fraud, as they did in Indi a few years ago.

Losing vast swathes of your nation forever isn’t a stalemate.

The Ukrainians can’t get out because the CIA and BlackRock now own their country. So they’re given just enough ordnance to skirmish pointlessly until Joe Biden is out of the picture. This is killing tens of thousands of men.

Which brings us to the latest neocon ShamWow: the Ukraine-Israel Bundle.

But no. If you want a Hamas analogy in Ukraine, it would be Kiev’s exterminationism in Donbas from 2014 – the tip of the spear being a motley ensemble of Nazi ‘battalions.’

Israel is not Ukraine.

As for Russia – foolishly re-demonised for 20 years by Langley loonies but also the same Orthodox sourpuss it always was – it has reverted to the worst of its form. Yep! On the last day of Pre Polling with the queue over an hour long, 3 “Tradies” turned up and walked along the line asking how long it was going to take to reach the booth – then they “decided” that as the fine was “only $20” they wouldn’t waste their time voting, just pay the fine and they laughingly walked away.

Then again on polling day, at another booth, the “Yes” campaigners were ‘chatting’ amongst themselves about the fine being just $20.

Mystery customer pays $135m. for Israel’s Elbit to build ammo factory (JPost, 29 Oct)

Elbit Systems, one of Israel’s three largest defense firms, said on Sunday that it has been awarded a $135 million contract to build a factory to build artillery ammunition for an international customer and that “the contract will be implemented over a period of two years.”

Ammunition supplies have become increasingly important following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. This is particularly true regarding 155mm ammo. Elbit says that its “experience covers the entire product cycle, from design to production as well as maintenance and after-sales support.”

The Palestinian narrative on Twitter is that Israel is populated by European Jews who they, with great kindness, allowed to move there after WWII, they then abused Palestinian hospitality and stole their land.
Never mentioned are the approximately one million Jews lucky to be expelled (many were murdered) from Arab countries after the humiliating 1948 loss, usually with just the clothes on their backs.
No intergenerational status as UN recognised refugees though.

Between no cause pre- polling, no cause postal the AEC continues to weaken the protection (more imagined than actual) in the Australian electoral system. We are a long way from US style abuses but all trends are moving in the wrong direction.

Constitutional enshrinement was all about placing the Aboriginal Industry outside Parliament and ensuring it couldn’t get ATSICed. It was rightly rejected.

Putin’s mistake was not getting himself crowned as Tsar ten years ago.

The Tsar owned everything anyway, so the corruption question goes away.

It may be the succession problem, as his official kids are both daughters who’re both sciency types of people. If he’d had a formidable son maybe he could’ve made such a move stick. Succession issues have laid waste to many a dynasty.

For any Cats at home on such a windy day today, World Movies is showing Charlie Chaplin’s “The Great Dictator” at 3pm. Interesting choice at this time, no?

I have never seen it in full, will take the opportunity.

It was also broadcast earlier this morning. A very clever film taking the piss out of Adolf and Mussolini to a certain extent. The Jews obviously have a big part to play in the film. Yes, an interesting choice of film at this time, however, SBS has shown the film quite a few times over the years.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12686125/Mob-Dagestan-Airport-Jewish-passengers-flight-Israel-incident-Russian-republic.html

A huge mob today stormed Dagestan’s main airport looking for Israeli citizens following reports that a plane was arriving from the country.

Hundreds of protestors stormed the Makhachkala airport in the Russian republic to protest the landing of a Red Wings airliner coming from Tel Aviv, Russian news agencies and social media reported.

The protesters, some carrying Palestinian flags, broke through doors in the terminal, with some running onto the runway while others broke barriers, aiming to check the cars leaving the airport, according to videos posted online.

The Red Wings flight was reportedly forced to divert from the airport following the presence of the mob and landed at a different destination, according to Israeli television network Channel 12.

However, riots had also broken out there too, with passengers told to stay in their seats while riot police were called in to protect them, the broadcaster added.

Many people in the crowd that stormed the Makhachkala airport were reportedly chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’ while others were shouting antisemitic slogans, according to Russian news agencies.

I’m still seething over Betts’s smart arsed ‘good try’ comment to Matt Canavan. iirc Betts is an ex punk rocker imported by Kennett to ‘reform’ the Met in Melbourne. Split it into Hillside Trains and Bayside Trains. National Express got the ‘franchise’ to run Bayside (and V/Line) but ran away. Decamped to NSW for a while-during the O’Barrell-Parrot era. Supposed to be some kind of transport eggspurt. In what capacity I wonder?

Also, could you link the accusation of Zelensky’s money laundering.

A while ago, we had Dover suggest Putin had cleaned up the oligarch corruption. Do you agree with that?

Also among the anti-Israel protesters are Aboriginal race-mongers such as Senator Lidia Thorpe, who wore a Palestinian scarf in parliament when she likened white Australia to Israel as an ‘illegal occupier”.

There it is in plain sight.

The bullet we dodged.

Exactly

Is our PM so stupid he really thought it was all about listening to a bunch of people with a new and cunning plan to “Close the Gap” by giving us advice? Years of failure and mountains of funds haven’t done it because there is no responsibility or accountibility placed or expected from the recipients of our largesse.

A Modest proposal .. what utter patronising BS

Or is our PM more cunning and clever than we ever imagined and knew he was handing over the destruction of our country and society?

More likely it is as many say, he didn’t want a bipartisan approach to this because it was a be a Labor victory, his victory, his place in the Labor firmament, along with Goeff who started all of this disaster with his self determination policies. Look how well they have worked here and also PNG, another victim of Labor egos.

Illegal occupiers indeed, but clearly we need to be awake constantly to this or the left will just hand it all over because that’s how they think things are solved, by equality and diversity and making sure everyone, except your ideological enemies, is happy.

We will never Close the Gap, because the very people who could do that, are not interested as it means hard work, and responsibility. That’s not in their hunter gatherer culture and maybe that’s harsh but it is a fact they eventually have to face. It’s a tool to be used against us forever as if it is our fault, it’s not.

Same with Reconcilliation, there is no effort whatsoever in this regard, it is just another complaint in the big book of whining about Australia.

A major problem for all of us is the financial accountibility and knowledge dodging now going on.

We need to find out where the money has gone, who to and did it work or not, not just continue pouring money down the drain so precious egos are not hurt.

We need a Royal Commission into child protection, for ALL Australian Children and not some half arsed study of a few potemkin “prepared for the event” sites.

We cannot go on allowing children in Australia to be at risk, regardless of cultural mores, bruised egos or worrying about being accused of racism.

We pander far too much to the hurt feelings industry, we have to get hard nosed and push back, push back hard too.

Instead, he promised a multi-billion dollar investment in upskilling Australian workers.

Media black [in the U.S.] American family income has been lower than median white American family income for generations. But the median per capita income of Asian groups is more than [U.S.]$15,000 a year higher than the median per capita income of white Americans. Is this the ‘white supremacy’ we are so often warned about?

I am loving Tony Moclair on 3AW.
A couple of weeks ago (as a fill-in host) he described the plan for limiting flights to four per lifetime as “a nut-job plan put forward by a dangerous religious sect”.
Today is his first day as permanent afternoon host.
Within five minutes he described green-left characterisation of landlords as “profiteering” as “having a very Soviet feel to it, and then called the State Government housing policies as “Socialist”.
Go you good thing!

Our political caste are the Quislings, and the compulsory preferential voting system, combined with the limits on member influence on pre-selection, make them effectively unremovable.
