Israel came in being as a country in 1948.. Over this short period of time they’re managed to build a modern, advanced economy with one of the highest per capita incomes in the world. This, started by people running away from the most evil tyranny. Why, apart from the screwed up religious aspect? Envy. Envy is perhaps the most diabolical of the seven sins.
And why are Jews disliked by some putrid arseholes in the West? Also envy, because Jews are the most successful, resourceful people in the world as a group.
We often see envy displayed here by some of the lower ranks. Last evening clash with that lice ridden infestation ( Driller) was also related to envy. He had to denigrate Dover’s blog with lies because he closed down his own blog after 15 years, which in all that time attracted 279 comments.
Let’s not digress, Jews are disliked because of envy. It’s also something you appear to have in spades.
Really? I lived and worked in the ME and Nth Africa for more than a decade. At very best, the Jews and Israel were tolerated. I’d say Egypt was the most tolerant of Israel. In general , Israel and the Jews were rather loathed. Jordan is 70% Pallie so definitely no admiration there. The head banging Saudi’s were convinced Israel was the Satan.
So, I didn’t find “plenty” or even several. When the subject of Israel arose (which I avoided) it was all very aggro. All Arab problems and travails were because of the Mossad. And the CI Yay.
I would love to see a list of those people. My bet is that they were all loyal to Il Duce Andrews and Labor Party, and this was a pay off gift to keep shtum.

Gilas, I don’t disagree with anything you write, and you are 100% right about the “fog of war” when it comes to accurate and precise information, but there is one thing I do know, and I am sure of, even in the midst of a fog, and that is Shani Louk would still be alive had it not been for homicidal barbarians invading Israel on 7 October 2023, raping, slaughtering, murdering, decapitating and so on.
Of that I am sure.
Perhaps Israel had her DNA available from previous health tests,
perhaps they requested DNA samples from close relatives (I know someone here in Melbourne who had to do that recently to confirm identity of a deceased relative).
Maybe the hamas rapists smashed her across the head to stop her struggling, maybe they smashed it against a rock sufficient to break her skull, they certainly did a good job of breaking her leg very badly.
Perhaps they just smashed her head in post rape because they didn’t want to waste any bullets.
The map at the Daily Mail pinpoints the location of deceased people around the music site including the spot Miss Louk was killed so presumably skull fragment and blood was recovered there.
I know at least one survivor at the festival was an ear witness to the rape and murder of a girl (possibly by so called civilians who came afterto join the party), whether it was her or someone else, who knows?
From all accounts hamas outdid themselves in finding ways to main and torture Jews, and unfortunately had some leisure time to indulge themselves.
Thanks for your contribution JC. That’s what I am looking for.

I think quite a few here have a little understanding of the history of islam, the circumstances under which they have attempted to subjugate the world over many centuries and their particular animosity towards Jews.
One of the problems is the humiliation attached to losing any land that was once muslim land, it’s a constant thorn in the side, which is why you hear the refrain from the river to the sea, and to make it worse, the Jews of Israel who mostly came there with bare hands have thrived while Muslims are still driving around in donkey carts.
Interviewer: Since you built 500km of tunnels, why haven’t you built bomb shelters where civilians can hide?
Hamas official: it is the responsibility of the United Nations to protect them.

In a statement, Noemie Huttner-Koros, a Jewish artist and writer, said: “As a descendant of Holocaust survivors, I refuse to let Israel’s far-right government weaponise our grief, pain and fear for the purpose of war crimes, invasion and genocide.
“We want to show Jewish people in the diaspora that we can speak up. Jews and Palestinians can and do live together. I see it as my ancestral duty to fight for justice, peace and liberation for all.”
At the scene, locked to a ladder by the neck, Ms Huttner-Koros addressed the crowd and said Israel is “using our grief and our fear for the people that we have lost to justify war crimes and genocide”.

If you want to know the origin of it and the story that all the immans push in every mosque in every country, look up the story of Medina. The Muz believe the Jews betrayed Mo and his gang when they first arrived in Medina (620AD). That is the basic story ( and they all believe it). In Medina the newly formed Muz beheaded all the Jewish men. (BTW whitewashed from the WIkipedia entry!)
The next one is the battle of Khaybar (628), just north of Medina – you can find it on google maps ). Once again the Jews lost and many were killed. So there is plenty to hate the Jews for. There is also a rumour that the jewess that Mohamed ‘took’ poisoned him.
Envy may be a factor in the west, but if it was the factor for the Arabs they would be killing Dubai Arabs. No, it is basic to Islam and told to every single kid that the Jews betrayed Mohamed.
Cassi, in my experience, you are right about Iran.
Makka, I was just providing exceptions to the All Arabs hate Jews statement, from my experience. Many will not admit their admiration in public as the mullas hold sway ( and the Mutaween!)
AND one final point. The Muz live in the world where Mo is the one. To us history is past, to them history is right now. The Jews of Israel, and Australia, are the same as the ones who betrayed the prophet. Every walid and bint knows this.
Oh, FFS, the’marriage is prostitution’ thing has been around for around 100 years. At least.

There are people here who disagree on a lot of things, and we have robust debates, disagreements, stoushes, and arguments, some of which have lasted years. But this is not a blog to spray Jew hatred around. However, if that’s what you’re looking for, there there is a perfect site for you, it’s blog where you will have the freedom to splash lotsa Jew hatred, and you’ll find similar souls….that place is called Dash Cat.

It actually is a good point.
Allow me to present what may be a more pragmatic perspective on the same subject:

IMHO simply obliteration Israel & Jews will not stop ‘everyone in that part of the world’ from hating Israel.
Long after Israel goes the way of the Dinosaurs, Imans & the like will be thumping the pulpit ranting about the evils of Jewry & how all ills in life are due to the as yet unredressed deeds of Jews, blah blah blah.

Albanese government wanting a ’greater level of maturity’ with China: Penny Wong
Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong says the Albanese government wants to bring a “greater level of maturity” to its relationship with China amid Anthony Albanese’s visit to Beijing.
Ms Wong said Australia’s relationship with China has changed over the last couple of years.
“We are not going back to where we were 20 years ago in terms of our relationship with China,” Ms Wong told Sky News Australia.
“We made clear we weren’t going to play any domestic politics with it.
“We want to stabilise the relationship and ensure that Australia’s national interests are safeguarded.”

‘Even in war there are principles’: Penny Wong’s warning on civilian deaths in Gaza as Israel steps up fight against Hamas
Foreign Minister Penny Wong has reiterated the government’s “principled approach” to the Israel-Hamas conflict, cautioning the Israeli government to protect civilian life in the aftermath of the strike on Jabalia refugee camp.
Foreign Minister Penny Wong has reiterated the government’s condemnation of Hamas as she urged Israel to minimise civilian deaths in the aftermath of the strike on Jabalia refugee camp.
Speaking to Sky News Australia on Wednesday, Senator Wong emphasised that the government recognised the need to combat the militant group, but cautioned there were “principles and rules which must be followed.”
“We’ve taken a principled approach since the beginning of this conflict where we have unequivocally condemned Hamas and its acts of terror,” she said.
“We have recognised that in response that any state has a right to exercise its self-defence, but we have also said to Israel, and publicly, that how you undertake that matters even in war.
“There are principles and rules which must be followed; and we have advocated consistently for human civilian lives to be protected and for humanitarian law to be observed.”
The Foreign Minister also noted that despite “political debate” about its stance, those principles should “matter to Israel as a democracy” and the government would continue to push for restraint from all sides.
Earlier on Wednesday, Israel’s Defence Forces confirmed they were responsible for an airstrike which struck Jabalia refugee camp, killing 50 and wounding 150 according to Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry.
Other unverified reports, citing a nearby hospital, put the number significantly higher, claiming as many as 120 people died.
The IDF said Ibrahim Biari, a senior Hamas commander, and a “large number of terrorists” were killed in the blast, adding that the militants had been using civilians as “protective armour.”
Asked whether the strike was a justified response given the IDF was aiming to hit a military target, Senator Wong demurred but insisted it was “incumbent upon Israel” to minimise civilian deaths.
“Certainly the images out of that attack are very distressing and what I want to keep saying is Australia continues to assert the importance of international humanitarian law,” she said.
“As I said, even in conflict we have rules that all of us, Israel, Australia and countries throughout the international community have signed up to.
“It is incumbent upon Israel to do all that it can to protect civilian life as it engages militarily.”
Despite the government’s condemnation of Hamas, calls to respect international humanitarian law have prompted criticism from some who argue they contribute to anti-Israel sentiment.
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has said the government’s response is drawing a “false equivalence” between the actions of Israel and Hamas, demanding it hardens its stance in support of Tel Aviv.

They’ve been working non stop (from what I understand from reports) to identify the slain.
From the information available, the poor girl was killed within Israel, then her body transported over to Gaza for s&g’s. One of the first of the murders to be advertised by the perverts and give us a window into the “innocence” of Gazans.
.
Before Israel was established the same style of slaughter occurred in Hebron in 1929. A very different scale but no different in their despicable blood lust, their inventive ways of degrading Jews. Consider. There’s a tradition to this. Consider.

Tony Abbott says ‘climate change cult’ will be discredited
London: Former prime minister Tony Abbott says he has never believed in human-driven climate change as he vowed the “climate cult” would one day be defeated.
Abbott was speaking at the launch of the Institute of Public Affairs’ new paper Energy Security is National Security, held on the sidelines of the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship conference in London.
He revealed that when he had professed to support cutting carbon emissions as prime minister and leader of the Coalition, he had always added a disclaimer that it should not cost jobs or send dirtier forms of energy generation to countries that were not as serious about reducing greenhouse gases.
“And when I was feeling particularly bold, I would add things like this, I would say, ‘you know, 10,000 years or so back we had an Ice Age, that was rather dramatic climate change, but presumably that had nothing to do with mankind’s carbon dioxide emissions’,” Abbott said.
Abbott, who was appointed to the board of Fox Corporation in late September as soon as Lachlan Murdoch took over from his father Rupert Murdoch as sole chairman, said he would point to the Medieval warm period and the Little Ice Age as further examples that climate had “nothing to do with mankind’s emissions”.
“So I think it is worth stating that the anthropogenic global warming thesis, at least in its more extreme forms, is both ahistorical and utterly implausible. And I think that needs to be repeated a little more,” he said.
JC’s long-form exchanges with Dover have been solid displays of learned gentlemanning.

Some confusion about this. Had to check it myself:
There hasn’t been a true ‘refugee camp’ in Gaza in decades. Retaining the name even after they become upscale neighborhoods is all part of the Pallywood propaganda.

What happened in Israel would be way too familiar to the faithful in Africa and some parts of the sub-continent.
I repeat: islam hates everything and wants to destroy everything else; they’re starting with Jews. Well, actually they’re not. People forget that in 2001 not only the Twin Towers, representing everyone in the modern world, went down; the twin buddhas, representing the past were also destroyed. These 2 acts had great symbolic value to the muzzies because there is no time before islam hence the destruction of the Buddhas and there is no future other than islam hence the destruction of the Twin Towers.
People have spoken of envy and biblical antecedents. No doubt this is true but regardless the world must protect the Jews if for no other reason than this:
ARAB / ISLAMIC vs JEWISH NOBEL WINNERS
It must be grog o’clock.
Iran Demands the Removal of Starlink – Could Governments Repel These Satellites?
We know why Israel is upset with Elon Musk for sending Starlink services to Palestine, but now Iran is also demanding that he remove the satellites. Truth is always the first casualty in war. Governments are censoring absolutely everything to prevent the truth from spreading. Iranian journalism is non-existent and people rely on social media to receive their information through the use of VPNs. Iran has previously shutdown internet access for its own people and disabled VPN servers to prevent people from seeking the truth.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) believes the Islamic Republic “enslaved Iran’s internet.” “The Islamic Republic’s strategy is cruel – locking its people into an empty information space and blocking all escape routes,” said Vincent Berthier, the head of RSF’s Tech Desk. “Internet shutdowns form the main barrier to information, and when the network comes back online, the government obstructs access in another way, by preventing access to VPNs. We call on the Iranian authorities to lift these oppressive constraints. Iranians have the right to access news and information freely.”
Iran has blocked the Apple App Store and Google Play to deter people from downloading a VPN to bypass censorship. WhatsApp and Signal have been blocked as they do not allow people to communicate. Internet shutdowns often occur regionally as the Iranian government will simply revoke all internet communications at whim. A company called Arvan Cloud has assisted Iran’s Information and Communications Technology Ministry in developing the National Information Network (NIN) to block the people from free communication. Ironically, the US placed sanctions on the company in June 2023. The US government prefers to discreetly block information rather than turning off the internet entirely.
Now in comes Elon Musk. He recently said he plans to make X (formerly Twitter) an all-purpose app that allows calls and messaging. He is permitting everyone to post to his social media channel and it has become the top spot for government officials to send the public instant alerts. His Starlink technology will ensure that people can access X and the internet. Starlink satellites operate at an altitude of 340 miles and would be extremely costly to shoot down and only a few countries have anti-satellite technology. It’s also not like Musk is sending one satellite as they launch a stack of them at once.
There is a reason Putin did not attempt to shoot down Starlink over Ukraine. First of all, it is extremely costly and a waste of resources. Secondly, these devices are technically American assets and attempting to remove them could be seen as an act of war. Third, they could not shoot these down without causing orbital debris and angering the international community. Russia or China could spend countless resources on anti-satellite technology, but Musk could simply send more. The only way to close them would be to attack the ground station, a move that could only be done by the West.

How far would you travel for a moment of joy?
Come for a walk with me down McDougall Street in harbourside Kirribilli. You’ll be joined by people from all over greater Sydney. Not exaggerating. Our best street for jacarandas draws people from all around the harbour city, and beyond.
This year was the most crowded I’ve ever seen it. We were all coming to get brief respite from war and more war, inflation and death on every doorstep. And jacarandas, well, they really do make us feel better, even if just for a moment. Naturally, being a roaring busybody, I started asking questions. “What suburb do you live in?”
Campbelltown. Pymble. Punchbowl. Bankstown. Coogee. Blacktown. Woollahra. London – but I won’t count her because she was there with local relatives. “I live here,” one woman smiled, gesturing towards the mauve tunnel.
Another question, do you have jacarandas in your own suburb? Yes, but not like this. Come Sunday (heaven forfend wind, hail and pelting rain), the jacaranda flowers will form a lilac arch over our heads, branches and blooms reaching each other. Life-affirming.
Picking up 11 year old Grandson this afternoon from after school Cricket Practice at Andersen Park, drove down McDougall Street in Harbourside Kirribilli to come up hill Back to traffic lights to head back down past Andersen Park to home.
Jacarandas stunning, as were all that we saw on the way home to Seaforth.
Israel more than fulfilling its duty IMHO:
Heh. That was quick!

I asked the data scientist to give us a breakdown and he calls me a c… for asking. And you’re suggesting I not being gentlemanly? Would you be?
OldOzzie, I heard an interesting story about Sydney’s Jacs many years ago at Ryde Hort.
The matron at Ryde hospital gave each new mum a seedling Jacaranda on the birth of bub. As this is a Baby Boomer story…you can guess where it’s going.
It may have been replicated across all the maternity units in the city.
I like to think so.

All Saints Day.
A National Holiday in the Philippines.
On this subject, earlier images of Israeli attacks on multi-story reinforced concrete buildings in Gaza seemed to show much of the rubble collapsing in on the explosion site.
I don’t know what is the biggest non-nuclear bomb the Israelis use, but the size of the crater after this one suggests a major secondary explosion lifted a lot of the rubble back out.

An old hymn, but a goodie. As I read the stanzas, I can still hear the Beloved’s boyhood pal belting it out on the pipe organ…all the stops out, natch.
I don’t want to see you banned either, Bespoke. Are you using Grammerly these days as I noticed you spelt “No!” correctly this morning.
What about the great frauds they participated in, ‘happiness pills.’ Firstly benzodiazapenes, aka Valium and the like. Handed out like lollies, but they were addictive and withdrawal was very unpleasant. Mother’s little helper.
Then the so-called anti-depressants, the SSRIs. Not a lot of independent proof for them.
Promising people happiness, or longevity (see: statins) is a very lucrative business.
Clearly my downticker is not a saint. Your choice.

Paranoid Junior Cretin is away with the Fairies once more. As I have already told his/her/its Cronies – The posts are from a FREE Blog and have been re-posted at NO cost.
Of course, to Junior Cretin who has a chip on both shoulders, every post that he/she/it does not like seems to cause some sort of wobble when playing in the Sand Pit. Then the play toys all get thrown out. Don’t worry Junior, as Mummy will be along soon to change your nappy and stick that dummy (pacifier) back into yer’ Big Gob.

What I read? Time. There was an old columnist who I loved reading. I think his name was Hugh Sidey who wrote about the goings on in Washington. Reading him taught me about the American political system. If I didn’t know something he wrote about I’d go to the uni library to find out. Things like clotures etc.
It was then that I become fascinated with America- by reading Time.
Amazing contrast to information at hand now and then.
I also recall buying my very first New Times at a city news agent. First time I’d ever seen it. I read it from front to back. It was over a week old I think. 🙂
With apologies to the Peshawaris, jacarandas are among the messiest bloody trees you can have to deal with. They don’t respond well to pruning and a tree of choice among brain dead Council types. Like roses, look good for a month a year and a pain in the arse for the other 11.

The bloke wrote a book about his success (or someone wrote it about him) within the last two decades. I used to have a copy, but no longer.
While there were a few reasonable press reps in Vietnam, several had an outsized connection or influence upon, U.S. policy makers. The disastrous overthrow of Diem in ’63 being an example.
HB,
I feel yer pain.
Our dumbf… council decided on an “urban canopy” strategy which (not thought out very well) requires them to plant a tree outside everyone’s home on the verge every 20 metres. The result are the ugliest trees planted in the worst possible locations, amenity (like ability to see oncoming traffic when reversing out of driveway) not considered. At. All.
I have considered poisoning it or chopping it down but apparently the council will make you pay for it. Given my new car requirements come into play ~January, I’ve recently considered driving over it, accidentally of course.
Don’t go around pants less, Bear.
It was an epic journey all the way to my front porch this afternoon.
About ten metres. 😀
There I found an old friend who I don’t think I’ve seen for a couple years – a female koel cuckoo. She recognized me and was bouncing in excitement, and accepted several lumps of mince.
Not bad for bird with a brain the size of a baked bean to remember an individual human after two trips to PNG and back. They migrate there each winter.
The key I think is that a male koel has been yodeling in the nearby fig tree, from 4am each morning. She’s arrived to check out him and his fruit tree, and then remembered the Cafe.
It really was a moment of joy. Female koels look like flying dot paintings and are quite spectacular.

“There was some early speculation that Miss Louk was beheaded, but that obviously is not the case if she was, indeed, the girl in the back of the pickup. Assuming these reports are all accurate–who knows?–a more likely interpretation is that she was raped by Gazans at the scene of the rave, had one or both legs broken there, and then was murdered on site in a manner that left a bone fragment from her skull behind, from which DNA has now been extracted. Then her body was piled into the pickup truck and she was driven around Gaza, to the cheers of thousands of innocent civilians.”

What’s been released in the past twenty years shows that Diem came far closer to crushing the Viet Cong then he was ever given credit for – O.K., so he reintroduced the guillotine – and the North Vietnamese couldn’t believe their luck when he was overthrown and murdered.

More insight into what’s happening in Israel today. Gadi Taub in “Letter from Tel VAiv: We Will Defend Ourselves”, in November’s Quadrant, just out.
On the walls in the main hallway of the hotel called Sephardic House where we stayed 2018, located in Jerusalem’s Old Town not far from The Wall and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, are historical plaques detailing how the Jewish communities of the Mediterranean were all for the most part completely extinguished, obliterated by pogroms and transports during the Nazi Holocaust period.
Never Again. It is visceral, you feel it when you are there, the Jewish love for the Old City and its sacred meaning for Jews, with the Christian period and, in particular, the Islamic presence, very much a late coming. I am glad we went. Religious history in the very stones underfoot.
Oh dear, forgot to proof read my typed transcription of text. Apologies.
Re the protest at Richard Marles office today, surely it would be a simple thing to enact a local ordinance that required people protesting by way of attaching themselves to solid objects, to remain in place for 48 hours before the authorities release them. During that time their location and motive should be widely advertised, in order to enhance their experiences and clarify their message.
There are protests around the country as Aussies reject the green spin that it’s worth wrecking the landscape with 40 new wind turbines a month over the next seven years for … well, what?
Andrew Bolt
The Albanese government’s net zero plans are in a shambles, as Australians revolt against the mad idea of saving the planet by destroying it.
Whatever made Energy Minister Chris Bowen think Australians would accept having their landscape ruined by wind generators more than a quarter of a kilometre tall, plus 10,000km of hideous transmission lines to hook them all up?
There are now protests around the country.
In Tasmania, locals at Stanley celebrated this week after two years of fighting a planned wind farm near the beautiful coastal outcrop called The Nut – a project now scrapped.
In NSW, voters in two marginal Labor seats are trying to stop a huge wind farm off the coast above Newcastle.
Further south, about 1000 people rallied at Wollongong on Sunday against an offshore wind farm there, too.
Inland, locals are fighting plans for 400 wind turbines in state forests in the Central and Southern Tablelands.
One meeting of the Oberon Against Wind Towers was attended by 550 people in a shire of just 5000.
In Queensland, the Friends of Chalumbin group is fighting another wind farm in an area adjacent to World Heritage-listed rainforest.
The developer has now halved the number of planned turbines to 42, hoping to appease it.
In Melbourne in July, protesters drove tractors around Parliament House, furious at plans for transmission lines across their land for the Western Renewables Link from Bulgana in Victoria’s west to NSW.
Australians aren’t buying the government’s green spin, that it’s worth wrecking the landscape with 40 new wind turbines a month over the next seven years for … well, what?
No one now believes green energy is cheaper.
Instead of cutting electricity bills by $275, the government instead presided over a 20 per cent jump in just one year.
And who really believes this will save the planet from a climate catastrophe? What catastrophe, anyway?
This revolt has caused an amazing transformation.
This week’s Essential poll found that Australians, once religiously antinuclear, are now 50 per cent for it, just 33 per cent against.
No surprise. The beauty of nuclear generators: They’re not just zero emissions and 24/7, but you can just build them where coal generators are now.
Our land is too nice to destroy in the name of Labor’s global warming religion.
The government’s renewables crusade is doomed and Bowen should admit it.

Leadership from the Commander. So important.
I’m still reading a chapter or two a night of Peter Ratcliffe’s (DCM) ‘The Eye of the Storm’ which I started two weeks ago looking down from a plane over Israel and the lights of Jerusalem along the borders of Jordan on the way to Omman.
I’m at Chapter 18 now, where Ratcliffe has been sent to take over SAS sub-group Alpha One Zero, whose Commander has just been recalled basically as incompetent in the field of battle. Ratcliffe says (not short on some hubris either):
He mentions that a few of the men needed to be enthused to take on danger, and that was his job. I’m thinking now Vale to the two brave Israeli soldiers, both aged only 20, who like all young men in war, mustered their courage and stepped up to die.

In his talk to the IPA which I attended where Peter Dutton launched his support for some of the newer smaller-scale nuclear reactors for Australia, he also mentioned that we’d better get a move on in ordering some. The list of countries before us in the line-up will mean if we wait too long we’ll not get them in time to stop an energy shortfall.
As we already see, it’s becoming imperative to keep open our existing coal-fired plants, and I think we should be building a few relativelty cheap new HILE ones now.
