Not an orchardist or a farmer, why do we have plenty one year and not a lot the next, even tho there were no frosts and we keep up with watering the trees and bushes.
A lot of trees have a heavy – light – heavy fruiting pattern, presumably for the health of the tree. Olives, avocados and mangoes all do it so it’s not species specific.
