If you want a fix, then all of the above needs to be dealt with and it starts with the judiciary in my opinion. Good luck.

Why not make the judiciary (bureaucracy) accountable for their actions? For example, if a judge repeatedly lets off an offender because in their opinion they are redeemable and they go on to commit a crime, then the victim ought to be able to sue the judge. Obviously, this is a simplified example and consequences need to be considered.

Aspiring rapper news (the Hun):

A man shot and killed on a city street after a Halloween rave can be identified as a young budding rapper as the gunman remains on the run.

Pal Bidong, who goes by the rap name “Peezy”, was gunned down on Langford St in North Melbourne about 3.15am on Saturday morning.

The victim, believed to be aged in his early 20s, was found with at least one gunshot wound but died at the scene.

‘Peezy’. Righto.

It is believed that to identify the most likely suspects for Peezy’s demise, detectives are investigating the whereabouts of all George Thorogood and the Destroyers fans in Melbourne.

Is it just a coincidence or was this the deep state blob at work?

I have an account with archive.org that I use for research. They not only run the way back machine but also provide a virtual library of texts online which is invaluable.
A lot of books became unavailable for borrowing in early October and the message from the organisation was that they were being sued by publishers for copyright breaches.
These texts were nothing to do with politics. However, given the significance of the organisation’s work for the inquiring citizen, their plight does raise a few questions.

Advertising the Cat POTUS poll….

Rules:

Choose the number of votes which will elect either Trump or Harris. So a typical choice would be “Trump to win, with 291.”

The time and date you make your choice will be recorded. So first in best dressed will get you your vote.

Note a second vote on the same POTUS number would put you in second place if you won.

Voting open now; closes with final US poll

You can only vote ONCE, but you may change your vote

Prizes:

First placegetter gets a choice of either of my two latest works: Cyclone Warriors – the Armed Forces in Cyclone Tracy, or the 3rd edition of By Derwent Divided, the story of the Tasman Bridge disaster, both out now and commemorating the events of 50 years ago.

Prize will be signed and posted within Australia.

Developing:

Yes. And it’s interesting to watch the developments.

The headlines in the fringe media make very clear that Mossad is “implicated” in spying on Giorgia Meloni and colleagues, looking for blackmail dirt. Shirley an international scandal that drags Israel into further disrepute and odium:

Mossad behind Italian ‘blackmail’ spying scandal
Israel’s Mossad implicated in espionage scandal in Italy
Why is Israel Spying on Italy?
A very quick review of what seems to be the source material shows us that in February 2023, ‘two men identified by the Carabinieri as Israeli agents’ visited the offices of Equalise – the private investigators actually accused of the spying.

The Israelis were reported to be trying to purchase information on the Wagner Group and offering reports on illegal Iranian gas sales (which might have been useful to ENI).

But not spying on Ms Meloni and friends.

But, hey. Mossad.
They were there…

Haters gotta hate.

Should be excruciating. From the Oz.

Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to make an appearance on Saturday Night Live with three days to go before the election, according to a person familiar with the planning.

Harris, who departed from Charlotte, N.C., on Saturday evening, was supposed to head to Detroit. But Air Force Two landed instead in New York City for an unannounced stop. Her campaign declined to explain the change of plans. The New York Post earlier reported Harris would appear on the show.

Blue Origin hauls massive New Glenn 1st stage to launch site with hot fire up next (Phys.org, 2 Nov)

Blue Origin hauled the immense first stage booster for its upcoming debut launch of its New Glenn rocket to Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on October 30th. … Jeff Bezos’ rocket company is still aiming for a November launch of the heavy-lift rocket, which, when combined with the second stage and fairing, would be more than 320 feet tall. The exact date has not been announced, although Port Canaveral officials alluded to a Nov. 30 target date in a recent port commission meeting. …

Similar to SpaceX Falcon 9 boosters, New Glenn boosters aim for a recovery downrange in the Atlantic on Blue Origin’s landing vessel named Jacklyn, which is named after Bezos’ mother. New Glenn boosters are designed for 25 flights.

I prefer Elon’s eccentric names for his drone landing ships but all power to Jeff’s mum’s vessel.

(The recently tested Starship/Superheavy by comparison is 397 feet tall with four times the power of New Glenn. So Musk is still well ahead.)

List of things I need to do today:

  1. Top dress garden vegie plot with 3.5 meters of loam,
  2. Transplant tomato and rockmelon into garden bed.
  3. Move bags of potting mix from Patrol to garden area.
  4. Inflate wheelbarrow tyre – it’s a bit low, but only on the bottom.
  5. Find the tyre pump.

Seeing that I can’t find the tyre pump, even though I have a fair idea where it is, and everything else depends on having a wheelbarrow in a usable condition, I may just have a nap instead.

The topless bar scene was bad. Even as a 20yo youth I used to dread picking up a six pack from the local for the weekend.

So many questions there:

What was it about the topless bar that was bad for a 20-year old?

Why did you have to force yourself to go into a bad topless bar to buy carry-outs?

In what possible world does a six-pack do for a weekend?

Australia bids farewell as world’s largest captive croc, Cassius, dies at 110 (2 Nov)

A 5.48 metre (18 ft) Australian crocodile that held the world record as the largest crocodile in captivity has died, a wildlife sanctuary said on Saturday. He was thought to be more than 110 years old.

Cassius, weighing in at more than one ton, had been in declining health since Oct. 15, Marineland Melanesia Crocodile Habitat said on Facebook.

“He was very old and believed to be living beyond the years of a wild Croc,” according to a post by the organisation, based on Green Island near the Queensland tourist town of Cairns.

Over the ton in weight and age. Great innings! Well done that batsreptile.

Boys now guilty until proven innocent: Parents speak out after sexual assault caseNewcastle couple Karen and Phil Milner say their family has been to hell and back after their son was labelled a predator and they funded his legal defence to prove he was innocent of sexual assault and choking charges.

The Sunday Telegraph

A Newcastle couple forced to sell their home to help their son fight sexual assault and choking charges said the “pendulum has swung too far” in favour of alleged victims and lives of innocent young men are being ruined.
Speaking exclusively to the Sunday Telegraph, Jack Milner’s parents Phil and Karen said they were overcome with relief this week when after enduring a 5-day trial a jury took just under 90 minutes to find their son not guilty of assaulting a woman in an alleyway near a Newcastle bar in November 2022.
Mrs Milner spoke about their two years of hell, having to support their devastated son through the anguish of being charged, labelled a predator, and their family’s reputation in tatters because of intense publicity about the case. Mrs Milner said she shuddered at the thought of how many other young innocent men were locked up in jail because they didn’t have the resources and support to defend themselves.
“We pretty much sacrificed everything. We would give our right arm for our children but if we didn’t have a house to sell to support our son’s defence then he would be languishing in jail waiting for his trial,” Karen said
“The evidence was so overwhelming in support of his innocence, we just don’t understand how we could have ended up here in the first place.”
“If we could make a difference, by letting people going through what we have gone through know, they are not alone, then that’s something positive that can come out of all the heartbreak we’ve had.”
The jury heard a 22 year old woman approached 19-year-old Mr Milner, an apprentice mechanic, and asked to borrow his shirt after she was denied entry to the Finnegans nightclub in Darby Street.
When cross examining the woman last week, defence barrister Margaret Cunneen SC said the woman was the one who initiated contact with her client.
“You grabbed him, hugged him, kissed him on the mouth,” she put to the woman.
“No,” she replied. “I wasn’t talking to him, he was speaking to me.”
Ms Cunneen said there was no rape and the woman had “made up this false complaint against Mr Milner”, fearing she would be in trouble for trespassing.

Some important books are appearing:

“Fighting Goliath” by Prof. Norman Fenton

This just released book recounts Fenton’s efforts to counter the misinformation and propaganda of government bodies in respect to the Covid pandemic. In spite of his very high academic & professional standing, Fenton was opposed in every possible way from publicising his understanding of the threat of Covid.

“The Exhausted Brain” & “The Indocrinated Brain” by Dr. Michael Nehrs

The first book explains the effect of various stressors on the neurogenesis of the hippocampus. Modern life, and particularly the stress of the Covid years, has placed exceptional stress on the hippocampus which governs various aspects of memory. I am always interested in the hippocampus, since years ago I suffered an incident of Transient Global Amnesia, famously caused by exceptional stress. In my case, it was induced by the stress of the Great Drought of 2017/8& combined with an incident when daughter required me to given a lesson to grandson on the causes of the Vietnam War! It was indeed transient – about 3 hours.

“The Indoctrinated Brain” explains how governments, the WHO and the medical bureaucracies were able to convince so many people to accept a completely untested and novel vaccine.

“The End of Everything” by Victor Davis Hanson

This incredible classically trained historian uses his amazing knowledge of our history to explain the current era in which many western nations appear to be on a suicide mission.

“Hippocracy” by Prof. Ian Harris

Prof Harris, an orthopaedic surgeon & lecturer at the UNSW, presents a controversial theory that most spinal surgery does not address the cause of back pain. When some spinal surgery appears to work, it is mostly due to the placebo effect. (See also “Surgery: the Ultimate Placebo”)

Without knowing any details pertaining to who actually authorised this to go to trial, I have no doubt this is just the latest in a long conga line of sexual assault ‘prosecutions’ not recommended by the jacks in NSW, but enthusiastically taken up and run with by the NSW DPP.

There was a recent and very public punch-on (and on this very subject) between the judiciary there and the (chick) DPP boss, who from memory is a mutton-dressed-as-lamb me-tooer with a face like a bulldog’s arse.

Winston, I hate the veggie garden! Even on a farm, I reckon that this is the hardest area of physical work. Even with a “cultivator” machine, hoeing is damn hard work. The weeds seem to proliferate at twice the rate in a vegetative patch than they do in an open paddock!

I have been toying with the idea of putting up temporary fences across it and letting in the chooks to weed unplanted areas for me. But would take too long to be effective, I think. And they would kill to get into the spinach !

On Moresby…when I was in PNG in the mid 80’s it was unsafe. No one lived in unprotected premises, all behind tall fences, barbed wire, guards and dogs. Preferably in a compound with other ex-pats.

It has only become worse.

I pity women and children there. They are preyed upon by their “men” in horrific ways. You can only do so much for them – provide a safe place to sleep at least during the week, keep their bank book in a safe spot, offer to help with education. All the “paternalistic” things that are so derided by the ignorant or the opportunistic. It’s a savage, terrible place, punctuated by little communities of light, usually satellites of churches and Christian missions.

There is great natural beauty and fertile abundance. Vast mineral wealth. The people are poor and the politicians and exploiters are rich. The politicians especially love to come “south” and live it up, and also make use of educational facilities for their children. Like Albo, they have a sweet tooth for the pointy end.

Ford factory, River Rouge plant 1954:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdIVK3R7JDI

What is interesting is the men, how they hold themselves, how they reflect the society they live in.
By the 1960s the men in that plant were not the same.
They might have been some the same actual men, 15 years older, but the society had changed and they along with it.
The social decay that characterised the 1970s were well evident in the River Rouge Ford men as far back as 1962.

A snapshot – I remember my uncle, a plumber, going off to work (by public transport) wearing a suit, tie and hat. His overalls, along with his lunch and thermos, were in his Gladstone bag. Over six feet tall, he marched up the street as though he owned it, touching his hat to neighbours on the way.

That’s certainly true – but keep away from the perennial tribal troubles of the Western Highlands if you plan to visit for a look around.

I visited PNG twice (once to walk the Kokoda Track – best thing I ever did).

PNG is the South Pacific’s best-kept secret and it’s unlikely to be discovered any time soon by a mass audience because: a) it’s hard and expensive to get to; b) it’s a tribal society of 10 million+ people squeezed into an earthquake-prone land mass only double the size of Victoria.

You’d need a couple of months to see it all. There’s limited holiday accommodation in coastal centres like Madang, but I’d say the real gems are islands like New Britain and New Ireland in the north.

The distinguishing feature is that, even though this is the poor Third World, there is little malnutrition because of the climate and the abundance of seafood and vegetables.

However, I’d guess that, as in other Melanesian societies, diseases like diabetes are common, fuelled by the local popularity of Western soft drinks.

But the idea of a tourism economy is alien to the mostly corrupt national government, which relies on financial aid from big brother Australia.

Mining is huge but miners struggle constantly to get access to minerals. Bribes can buy almost anything at any level, up to and including the national government.

I understand the Kokoda Track is currently closed because of local tribal issues.

Definitely a bucket list must-visit, but only for adventure travellers. Allow plenty of time to comply with government time-wasting and other restrictions.

I did a 3 year contract in PNG looking after the chemical division of a local company. The business covered retail, commercial and industrial chemicals and I was fortunate to visit virtually every part of PNG including the islands. It’s a beautiful country and for me it was a long adventure. We had branches in Mt Hagen ,Tabubil, Rabaul, Madang, Lae and Port Moresby. Dangerous but as a South African I was not over concerned. In fact the owner of the company had a number of expat Saffas working for him as he said he found that we were not phased. Note all of us had done military service which probably helped. And the corruption was little different from that of the ANC in South Africa.

When there is a working press it is one of the fundamental reasons why the West is infinitely better than the commie and muzzie shit-holes. With maybe a dozen or less exceptions you could take the entirety of the msm out and put bullets in them and the place would be better off.

I had a double knee replacement almost three years ago. I’m still waiting for my airline ‘upgrade’. I thought socialism was about ‘sharing’? I’ve never flown ‘business’ or ‘first class’. I sometimes think it would be nice to experience either before I die.

But on a more serious note, and one that those here with a modicum of history would know, those infamous socialists throughout history never went without. Going without is for the plebs, for the masses, for the great unwashed, for ordinary people like you and me. I remember reading how, during the Soviet famine of 1921, when thousands starved and dropped dead thanks to Lenin’s idiotic and chaotic collectivisation policies, high ranking Communist party officials were extremely well fed. This was noticed at the time by foreign aid groups who were given permission to go in and distribute food. During the Siege of Leningrad, from 1941 to 1944, the city was cut off on all sides except through Lake Ladoga. Food supplies were hindered by the German encirclement, and so hundreds of thousands of ordinary men, women and children starved and dropped dead on the streets, with many engaging in cannibalism BUT the Soviet elite running Leningrad were well fed, any food that made it across Lake Ladoga was first distributed to fill the tummies of the party elite. The same happened during the Holodomor, in China, in Cambodia, in North Korea.

Now, some might say to me that it’s a big stretch to compare an airline upgrade to siphoning food during a famine or siege but it all comes from the same socialist/communist trough. The grub from Grayndler and his motley comrades, the Green Nazi party, the Teal whores and all rest of the corrupt grubs found loitering in our Canberra trough are no different to the party comrades of old, be it Lenin, Stalin and so on. Remember this, whilst they are quite happy to make us go without, they have absolutely no intention of ever going without.

Andrew Bolt: Labor’s no longer about fighting for the poor, rather it’s fighting for poor me-me-me

Federal Education Minister Jason Clare has just schooled us on how to demand freebies while still playing the victim.

What an insight into the entitlement culture of this – ha! – socialist Left government of Upgrade Albanese.

Clare admitted on Sunday he’d, oops, asked Qantas government relations staff for an upgrade for a holiday flight to Singapore in 2019.

Amazing. The man goes on holidays but wants other people to pay for it?

Knowing how bad this sounded with his prime minister accused of the very same thing, Clare pulled out his violin.

Clare said he’d just had surgery to cut a melanoma out of his leg so “yep, I asked for an upgrade”.

“I remember picking up the phone and asking for a bit of assistance there.”

Here’s where your heart is supposed to melt. Give that poor, lame politician an upgrade!

But wait. If Clare really thought he needed to fly in business class with his wonky leg, why didn’t he pay for the upgrade himself?

Why ask Qantas to pay for it?

This kind of thing seems to run in Clare’s family.

In his first speech to parliament, he complained that his great-great-great-great-grandfather also had to travel when he had problems with his leg.

That problem was a leg iron. Thomas Clare was a thief, you see, being transported to Australia, but Jason Clare reassured parliament: “We have come a long way since then.”

Yes! Now that thief’s great-great-great-great-grandson can get Qantas to provide the Clare leg with comfort he has no intention of paying for himself.

Maybe the Clare family hasn’t come such a long way after all.

In that same speech, Clare vowed a Labor government “will put fairness back into the workplaces”.

Now look at him and his Labor prime minister, oinking ahead of the queue to get business class seats they haven’t paid for.

When I worked for the Labor Party I thought it was about fighting for the poor.

Now the Education Minister shows it’s busy fighting for the poor me-me-me.

For Albanese, Clare’s admission is yet more embarrassment. It took the Prime Minister six days after he was accused of himself asking Qantas for freebies to finally deny doing any such thing in any possible way.

Yet now Clare shows how easily a Labor MP could limp into a business class seat just by calling some guy at Qantas.

This scandal has more legs than Clare’s clan.

It does indeed.

An insightful commenter on the British Labor MPs recent “gift” scandals whose name eludes me made the point that if a person deems themselves to be righteous because they’re on the right (i.e. Left) side of politics they’ll likely consider themselves deserving of any perks that come their way without a second thought as to how it might look or any codes of conduct in place.

It is, in their eyes, justified.

It displays an astonishing lack of moral insight.

Long ago I used to work with a woman whose husband was an architect who could afford to buy them business class airline tickets when travelling to Europe each year. She told me that they travelled economy, that it was important to get there as cheaply as possible. Once they got there they stayed in nice accommodation in prestigious destinations and enjoyed themselves.

This reminded me how all of us had to make decisions about our priorities except, of course, for our politicians to whom even the sky is not the limit.

On Friday’s The Five that Jewish princess kunt jessica tarlov regurgitated the Trump liz cheney bullshit; that Trump had supposedly called for her execution when he had simply in typical Trump flourish repeated what the demorats had called cheney 20 years ago: a hypocritical war monger. If you watch nothing else just watch how Watters, Gutfeld and the Judge eviscerate tarlov. Gutfeld especially can barely contain his anger at tarlov and the msm’s gutter lie about this and every other lie about Trump.

On this basis I’ll make an ancillary prediction: if Trump wins and the demorats try again what they did after the last time he won I think they will be met on the streets with a lot more resistance from Trump supporters and officials. I think the penny has dropped at what destructive bastards the demorats and leftoids are in general.

I wouldn’t mind if the polls were just wrong because then the win, in contrast to them, would be much sweeter. The point of the neck and neck polls is to make the forthcoming steal look more feasible. They could say it was so close and obviously the winner had more voters turn out at the last minute. Forgiving HECS fees is another way to cause division and animosity within society.

That’s the idea.
Communists work by splitting society into groups and pitting them against each other.
The whole idea behind “Greek/Australians”, “Italian/Australians” and “Aboriginal/Australians” is creating division where it didn’t exist before.

Discounting HECS fees by 20% shows the tertiary sector they can increase their take by 20%. Also fails to teach that if you acquire a debt, it should be paid.

Doesn’t this also tells us that universities are charging too much? Or better still, let’s go back to uni courses being free as long as you have marks good enough to qualify for entry. As for international students? Simple, no more.

Let’s also see how Vivek Ramaswarmy rolls too when he speaks to the voters. Have a look at him here, in New York at the big rally there – full of Nazis of course. All those Jewish Nazis, and Nazis of Colour, and Nazi suburban mums and dads and even the Nazi kids. Democrats have got nothing to offer, nothing but more of the dismal same. Vivek is such a young firebrand and the crowd is loving it.

Vivek and Vance are apparently good mates – that’s why Vance called his son Vivek, a good Indian name.

Not to win now is unthinkable, but if the steal should be on and take it by slim margins in a few key seats, the enthusiasm and clear direction setting that the Trump rallies provide shows exactly where the country is sitting with regard to Democrat lunacies. The shift everywhere, even amongst Democrats, is away from the ‘woke’ and towards the right.

In this we win even if we don’t. The anti-woke tide is floating all boats.

Before Democrats were comparing Nixon to Hitler, they were comparing Barry Goldwater to Hitler. Goldwater had a Jewish father and a distaste for Socialism, which would have made him unwelcome in the ranks of the racially and politically pure National Socialists, but that didn’t stop the Hitler accusations from being hurled by the Democratic party and its political allies in the press.

Watching a Diners Drive Ins and Dives from 2008 and it’s a completely different world. A bacon cheeseburger was braggadociosly only $4.75. I looked up the website and that burger is $17 today.

A few weeks ago I had a similar, much longer term real inflation check – the price of a pint of beer in a basic pub.

In 1973, when I first started (legally) drinking in pubs, a pint of Newcastle Exhibition was around 12p.

The Bank of England inflation calculator tells me that, at the historical official inflation rates, that should be £1.10 a pint in 2024 terms – everything else being equal.

Everything else is obviously not equal. Not by a long way.

?A basic pint in the industrial north is around £4.50, a basic pint in a crappy London pub, around £8.00.

As we notice here, real inflation is far greater than the official rate suggests.

All you jokers on the Trump side of the ledger,

the cheating is light years beyond your comprehension:

How rigged are American Elections?

VOTER ROLLS: Tom Fitton, Judicial Watch “We sued:

– California, settled the case, 1,200,000 names removed

– New York, settled the case, 450,000 names removed

– Pennsylvania, 1 county removed 69,000 names. Many more were removed as a part of a settlement

– Kentucky, 500,000 names removed after a consent decree

– North Carolina removed a bunch of names. In total, approximately 4,000,000 names were cleaned up in the last year and a half

– LA County removed 1,200,000 names, the rest of the state is still a mess”

Now just imagine all the voter rolls that haven’t been corrected in every county in every state. This is truly mind blowing

There is a slight problem, Israel depends on the US for her security, not sure they will protect him if push comes to shove.

The other 3 I mentioned are already in the black books with the US so they don’t care.

Well, despite my at times acriminous discussions with my UK (domiciled) daughter about selling up and returning to Oz, the response was pretty much “gee Dad, that won’t happen”.

As of two days ago her Kent farm is worth 20% less, but it is far worse than that. Nobody in the UK will buy farm properties with Stalinist manacs in charge of the nation insisting that all productive land be turned into kale plantations.

Sure, presentationally it is Starmer’s fault, but in reality it is not. The whole outrage is a consequence of the self serving arrogance of the UK establishment. They still despise the lower orders and as long as their wealth is secure in Dubai, or in huge landholdings the the Royals will prevent Starmer from stealing, they don’t care.

This week Farage showed himself as just another snobbish establishment figure contemptuous of the working class.

They need to be careful.

Calli,
I am fighting my own personal Hitlers right now. Crows have killed my beloved hens. I am working to stop them going after my ducks and turkeys.
I don’t have guns, yet, and it was too windy today to use my Bow, so I placed poison out for the murderers.
The problem with that is, I will have to sacrifice my favourite birds, Magpies, as they eat the same food that Crows eat. Except, Maggies don’t murder chickens.

The Poison has a trickle-down effect, as I have to keep my dogs on leads when I take them out with me.

I will prevail. Tomorrow is supposed to be calm. I have a good eye, and don’t need specs.

I think Biden and Harris have destroyed the majority of American voters faith in government and in particular, those two, that Trump just might pull a Reagan and swing a lot of Democrat states over….
