One of the biggest news stories of the year and the mainstream media censored it.
PS: 99% of the human trash graduating from journalism schools are strongly in favour of censoring stories they don’t like. That is, they’re not actually journalists
They are “churnalists, alright: Just not “fearless reporters.
I have posted elsewhere:
General William Tecumseh Sherman had some thoughts on the matter:
“”I hate newspapermen. They come into camp and pick up their camp rumors and print them as facts. I regard them as spies, which, in truth, they are. If I killed them all, there would be news from Hell before breakfast.”
See also: Thomas Jefferson:
“”Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle. The real extent of this state of misinformation is known only to those who are in situations to confront facts within their knowledge with the lies of the day.”
Then the hacks discovered the REAL power of “opinion-shaping”.
Hence, the “mangy tail” that wags the “rabid dog” of politics.
Their greatest psycho-sexual jolly is to hear or read their own “facts” being spouted by the gullible punters.
And, that, it has been suggested, is their “finest point”.
Tyree Smith had been found “Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity” in 2013 and sent to Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown for “up to 60 years” for the murder and cannibalism of 43-year-old Angel Gonzalez.
Sentenced to 60 years in the nut pokey and is out in less than ten.
I hope he’s living in one of the Parole Board members house with their family and not anyone else’s.

Target was sued on Thursday by the state of Florida for allegedly concealing the risks of diversity and social initiatives that led to a customer backlash and wiped billions of dollars from the retailer’s market value.
Not a big fan of States sticking their beak into corporates to this level, but I’ll make an exception here. For years, companies have had to go to extraordinary lengths (and cost) to report how they were managing the risks of climate change, and many went over the top, virtue signalling how committed they were. This might be a lesson to large corporates and Stock Exchanges* that, if they want to dabble in social engineering and issues peripheral to their core business, there might be a price to pay.
…
* I read during the week that the ASX Karen Committee (not their real name) were horrified at the suggestion we should drop a lot of these virtue signalling targets and reporting requirements.
Of course they were.
A bunch of activists from BHP, RIO and the Big Four Banks who know nothing about banking or mining are afraid of losing their leverage.
On this, there also was a push from a few high profile people who are in the closet.
That is, when disclosing the make up of their boards they didn’t want to have anything to with the sexuality piece.
For every big wig who is out like the CEO of Woodside, there’d be one who’s either deep in the closet.

How come the mainstream media always gives the coalition a hard time about “are you going to cut the public service” but never asks Labor why they always increase the public service.
Always ask the coalition “where’s the money coming from”, but never asks Labor about where the money comes from to support ruinable energy.

Ladies and gentlemen! You are no longer ladies and gentlemen.
Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) supported a Democrat Senate bill that would replace the word “mother” with the word “inseminated person,” and replace the word “husband” with the word “spouse.”
It’s amusing that they keep on trying to make the language more inclusive by rejecting and cancelling men and husbands.
As with many ‘men ..’ words the derivation is from something other than man, an adult male. It is usually Latin, such as manus, meaning ‘hand’, as in manual labour, or in the case of menopause, the ‘men’ part comes from the Latin for menses referring a ‘month’ and the pause part is Greek in origin, meaning cessation. As in menstruation, the men reference alludes to a woman’s monthly period.
Such a lot of nonsense is being allowed into our culture and language under this ridiculous ‘gender’ banner.
David Wood, who does marvellous work online combatting the death cult that is Islam has, like his good friend Robert Spencer, now been banned from the Islamist Kingdom once known as the United Kingdom.
Geez, ain’t multiculturalism marvellous? Can’t offend and upset those ‘Mosquitoes’.

Animals are fascinating critters.
My sister’s biblically ancient horse is in mourning following the death of his long term girlfriend the farm cat.
The cat never gave up. It would follow him around, jump onto his head when feeding and always slept in his stall. This despite the horse being pretty rough with her at times.
Now the old boy is hurting. Patrolling all of their haunts trying to find his pal. Hard to watch.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is about to bury the unscientific idea that carbon dioxide is a pollutant. Dropping this “endangerment finding” represents the beginning of the end for the great global warming hoax.
This insult to intelligence has been used for all sorts of fascist attacks on everything from power stations to gas stoves. I hope Zeldin absolutely guts the EPA down to bedrock.
This neither understands women nor Islam.
Women exercise power in the world through their control over men.
Islam maximises both the violence permissible of the men and the means through which the women control the men.
Whereas the stupid, pussy arse West is asking women to get a job.
Which would most women prefer? The answer is obvious to anyone unindoctrinated by 50 years of Sesame street idiocy.
A couple days ago Trump claimed that Zelensky is widely unpopular in Ukraine and that his approval rating is 4%. The very next day the MSM collectively called Trump a liar and they all parroted the same number, Zelensky has a 57% approval rating.
CNN brought out their little fact checker…57%. ABC, CBS…57%.
So I look up where this number came from. It came from the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology. Guess when they released their poll results. The day after Trump made his claim.
I went to their website and it’s barely functional but there was a note about who USED TO FUND them. Check out the picture below. You are going to laugh.
I also checked out another polling company that does work in Ukraine called SOCIS. They’ve done most of the exit polling on all the major elections in recent years in Ukraine and they have Zelensky at 16%, claiming that he would not win an election if there was one.
Think about this. We don’t even have an accurate number of the death toll in Ukraine from the war. No media outlet knows, it’s all a guess. We do know that tens of thousands of people have gotten caught trying to flee Ukraine. (It’s illegal for men ages 16-60 to leave.) But nobody has a clue what’s really going on there and yet a few hours after Trump says something the entire MSM ecosystem states as a fact what Zelensky’s approval rating is. 57%. Our media can’t even agree on what Trump’s approval rating is.
But then again, he would, wouldn’t he? Bolt should be replace by James Macpherson.

I see Chrisifooli delivering 100 day olympic details. I’d prefer he just ditched it, 7 years out at the IOC can find someone else to host.
I also see the usual cabal of vested interests and developers are jockeying to force the development in their corner. Funny the proposal that would probably cause the least disturbance at the old ANZ Stadium site they don’t want a bar of and their jismist mates are quite happy to push their barrow.
RFK jr is seriously considering banning mRNA “vaccines”. That kills their new preferred mRNA fluvax model dead.
Given the mode of operation of the mRNA “vaccines” by comparison to conventional vaccines I think that would be a very good thing. However for certain life and death situations, like cancer, I believe the mRNA approach would be justified. Not for prophylactic treatment of healthy people though.
Everybody hates Stephen King and with good reason; this ugly bitter man is seriously deranged. His most recent contretemps is coming out and supporting the equally hideously ugly gov for Maine who got into a dispute with Trump about trannies in women’s sport. The feedback to ugly king has been severe:
The old guard of the GOP are going to be very very unhappy with these numbers…
The results of CPAC’s straw polls are “one of the most watched moments of the Republican confab,” and are “followed closely by politicians, fundraisers and the press as a barometer of the mood of conservatives,” the New York Post‘s Jon Levine wrote.
The poll also revealed that virtually all attendees are fully on board with Trump’s actions since reentering office in January, with 99 percent of participants saying they agreed with the statement “The first few weeks of Donald Trump’s presidency have been the best for the modern conservative movement in my lifetime” — with 94 percent saying they “strongly agreed.”
In another question asking attendees whether Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) should be allowed to have control over funding for federal agencies rather than Congress, 89 percent sided with the Trump administration.

Poilievre is showing definite JD proclivities.
MSM. “People are claiming that you …… blah blah. How do you respond”?
Yes.
I am surprised more conservative pollies don’t watch the Maggie Thatcher master-class with George Fungus in the supporting role.
“Who? And where? And when?”
It talks about PPP and it’s imbedded in the piece. But here’s the thing – oftentimes when you have no arguments to make, you go to the “cope” or suggest it’s no worthy because it came from the msm.
Asia Times epitomises msm, or aptly, controlled media residing in a totalitarian regime. No Chinese stats can ever be relied on. These days, criticise the Chinese economy and you’ll be out of a job and with a social credit of zero.
Sure, sure it talks about PPP, and it also talks about GDP, but it’s principally talking about how effective they are, at least as they’re used here, as measures of the real economy in China.
As to the ‘here’s the thing’, what’s your point? Am I supposed to never reference MSM or only if I uncritically accept what they say? Is there no world in between these two positions?
LOL. The article is about how PPP is an inadequate measure. And of course it talks about GDP because the article is about GDP.
‘here’s the thing’, what’s your point? Am I supposed to never reference MSM or only if I uncritically accept what they say? Is there no world in between these two positions?
No, there is no in between for someone whose entire arguments in the past have rested on the single assertion that MSM isn’t at all trustworthy and then offers credibility to a msm piece in a newspaper from a totalitarian state that is tightly and punishingly controls the media.
No idea what you’re lolling about here, JC. You’re first response implied that the article was promoting PPP in order to boost China, now you’ve reversed this position.
No, there is an inbetween position. That of being critical or suspicious of articles promoting regime talk points. The above article was not offered uncritically but as asking a question worth considering, not only about China but about other economies too.
China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) was not impressed, downplaying the results stating, “We need to interpret the… results with caution and correctly grasp the global economic landscape and the status of each economy in it” while stressing China remained a “developing economy.”
This fig leaf.
Even as a tourist, observing China’s industrialisation is staggering. And it’s growing.
But let’s pretend they’re still a “developing” economy. It’s so good for competition.
Doesn’t take away from the vast acres of factories. They just go on and on. The conditions inside? Possibly the equivalent of that spit over the side.
My girl’s business manufactures in China. Being a straightlaced moral sort of person, she endeavoured to find a factory that had decent conditions for workers.
She found one that satisfied her conscience. The problem is componentry, which comes from all over.

This one’s for West Australian Cats. WA State Election 2025: Greens warn Cook of demands for Upper House support for legislationJoe SpagnoloThe West Australian
Sun, 23 February 2025 2:00AM
The Greens are talking tough ahead of next month’s State election as the easybeats of WA politics expect to become a potent force thanks to reforms to the Upper House voting system.
Parliamentary leader Brad Pettitt — currently the only Greens MP in the Legislative Council — is so confident at least three other colleagues will join him in the Upper House after the March 8 election, he’s declared there is about to be a “new political force in town”.
Analysts expect the Greens to have four or five Upper House MPs based on polling, suggesting a 12 per cent vote to the minor party.
Dr Pettitt said Labor would need Greens support to pass any legislation in the new Parliament, and in an ominous warning to Premier Roger Cook, he said that support would come with conditions.
“After this election, Labor will have a choice — negotiate with the Liberals or the Greens,” he said.
“Ultimately, if Labor refuses to engage, then our vote can’t be relied upon.
“There is a range of things we want to see happen, around renewable energy, around climate, around youth justice and health, and we will be very clear with what we expect.”
Labor has enjoyed a double majority after the landslide 2021 result, but under changes it made to the Upper House, the six Upper House divisions will be abolished, and 37 MPs will represent the whole of WA.
The Greens predict Labor will not win enough seats to hold an Upper House majority — a sentiment shared by a raft of minor parties hoping for a seat.
The party’s key demands on Labor, in order to support future legislation, include shutting down Unit 18 of Casuarina Prison — now holding children in an adult facility — by June 30; no expansion of the gas or coal industries; legislation to cut emissions by 50 per cent this decade; an end to fracking in the Kimberley; capping rents, and laws to make evicting renters for no valid reason illegal; and building 5000 social houses a year for the next decade.
“There is to be no new gas projects,” Dr Pettitt said. “No one’s talking about shutting down existing projects.
“All the ones that have been approved, they get to run out their life, because we do need some gas as part of the transition (to renewables).”
Cutting emissions by 50 per cent by 2030 would be a “firm ask”, he said.
“That will be a very firm ask, and there is no reason the Government can’t do that.
Liebores stunt to restructure the upper house is about to bite them right in the ass. Oh dear how sad remind me to care for the poor things.
Meanwhile the local liebore MP came out with the brainfart of building an outdoor movie theatre here. Apparently we wanted it just like a hole in the head. The shiteheads will vandalise it on day one and within a month it will be wrecked. Another $300k of OP money blown away.

Watching Rita rightly giving shtick to Elbow and Scabbie Shitfield, the overflowing pus bucket.
I came to the realisation that, Elbow, having a ninety minute soggy sao meeting with Shitfield, was his take on Trump and Rogan.
One of his teenage advisors most likely mentioned to Elbow that, when Trump took Barron’s advice to go after the youth vote by going on Rogan’s show, and the resulting success, Elbow went “hold my beer”.
Shitfield or an aussie equivalent to Rogan. hahahahahahaha
Rogan listeners were often non-voters so Trump was able to persuade extra votes.
Zero Liberal voters listen to that man-hating, baby murdering, terrorist lover. Everybody who does already votes for the man-hating, baby murdering, terrorist loving parties.
because we have compulsory voting the most a party has to do is convince voters they are preferable to the other side – ‘not as bad’ is sufficient.
Voluntary voting means you have to inspire people to get up out of their chairs and expend the effort to vote. Being vaguely agreeable is not enough.
People here often wistfully lament “Why can’t we have a Trump?” I used to just put it down to the fact PM’s win the job by how much they appeal to the party rather than the people. Anyone up for the gig has had to percolate up through the party’s ranks and will be indebted to the people we want them to kick in the nads.
But I would now add that compulsory voting has both sides focussing on the same people around the middle so the policies of the parties will be near identical, designed to win the tiniest sliver more of these voters without annoying a ever so slightly larger sliver.
Without compulsory voting parties will aim for where there are people to inspire. Uninterested people can be relegated way back in priorities. You have to go to people where they live and care.
I suspect that the middle voter our politicians cater for would not bother voting if they had the choice – being swayed by little morsels.
A lot of our oversight type mechanisms are infested with activist woke leftards. Havens for Marxists. Just like our Judiciary. The spineless LNP will never initiate or even attempt real change for fear they become targets for retribution when they inevitably fk up and lose power. The electorate are just doormats.
Queensland, after Peter Beattie and lesser extent Bligh there should have been an inquiry. How many Beattie ministers were charged or jailed with corrupt practises? Newman went after other fish though.
The kiddie jisimists who weren’t even alive in the 1970’s love to invoke Sir Joe at the slightest infraction by the LNP but ignore the fact that convicted criminals like Nuttall and Kaiser still get plum jobs when the ALP has power. Don’t even start me on the impropriety of Beattie’s California post politics job.
The other classic is thinking Joh introduced gerrymander of rural electorates. He just kept it even after mechanisation meant the labourers left and turned rural electorates into non ALP electorates
Yep. Broke Sicktoria can afford a 250 thou$ statue to satanic Andrews but can’t afford the bugler at The Shrine to play out the Last Post once a week. Another very worthy tradition (90 years) taken away.

Latest news is that at the last hostage release, Hamas took two hostages who weren’t being released and made them watch it. Total psychological torture. I look forward to the UN resolution condemning it.
As suggested on the above-mentioned blog, Antarctica is looking a likely destination for a mass population movement.
Via your link, some non-7 Oct. hostages had been held for just over 10, TEN! years. I cannot imagine the psychological damage acquired during that period. Ten years.

A Covidiocy question.
Is it true that during the covidiocy, two individuals – one in NSW and one in Vic, apparently – set themselves on fire as a protest?
This may have been a rumour, as wild ones were about in all directions at the time.
My point in asking is that if it is correct these desperate events of self-immolation occurred, the so-called mainstream media barely – if at all – acknowledged them. They CHOSE then, to not provide publicity to these occurrences which were far from ordinary. The feral media COULD have chosen (each independently) not to provide publicity to certain disputed h@m@s claims over the past 16 months. They have not made that CHOICE.
The majority of the legacy media FREELY CHOOSES to provide a forum/platform to self-admitted mass murderers. This publicity is the oxygen the subhuman savages need to exist. This PROVISION OF ESSENTIAL SERVICES makes those media ACCESSORIES to the acts they publicly celebrate.
I’m still wondering about the result in Werribee weekend before last- the time taken to announce a result and Leibor scrapping in by a few hundred votes.
NZ has underwritten the Cook Islands economy for decades and provided a development plan which lifted the country from “developing” to “high income” by OECD standards.
Swapping that for a transactional/exploitative relationship with China makes no sense unless bribery of officials is involved.
Kiwiblog has been watching the developments on this.
Winston Peters is none too happy but the Labour Opposition attacking Peters for making a big deal about it. Like Sleazy and Pongs kowtowing here the NZ Labour party shows same traits.

WA election 2025: Liberal leader Libby Mettam vows to restore representations in regions to Upper HouseJoe SpagnoloThe West Australian
Sun, 23 February 2025 2:00AM
Liberal leader Libby Mettam has promised to ditch Labor’s one-vote, one-value Upper House system and go back to having MPs chosen from six regions.
In Sunday’s address to the party faithful at the Liberals’ official launch of the election campaign, Ms Mettam will promise that within her first 100 days as Premier, she will “restore representations in the regions”.
“The mining and pastoral, agricultural and the southwest regions are the backbone of the West Australian economy where the wealth of the state is generated,” Ms Mettam will say.
“We believe under the new boundaries these regions have been disenfranchised by the Cook Labor government and the Liberal Party will restore regional representation.
“Twenty per cent of the State’s population have lost representation because of Labor’s grab for power.
“We will fix that and not add to the city-country divide at a time when regional Western Australia needs support.”
Under Mark McGowan, Labor changed the Upper House model of six MPs, chosen from six regions throughout the State, and replaced by a single electorate electing 37 members.
The Liberals and Nationals feel that under this model, the 37-member Upper House will be city-centric.
In her speech, Ms Mettam will paint Labor as an administration flush with money, but one that had squandered billions and left many West Australians worse off over their eight-year-rule.
Well and truly behind in the polls and facing a heavy defeat on March 8, Ms Mettam will tell voters Labor “had failed miserably” to vastly improve their lives despite “$114 billion in GST grants” and billions more in iron ore royalties since coming to power in 2017.

Premier Jacinta Allan has acknowledged the issue and vowed to look into potential solutions. “As someone who is very fond of brass instruments and buglers, I will ensure that this is followed up,” she stated.

What was the slag on about? I assume they was some sort of phallic allusion there.
Bwah ha ha ha.
I have worked in a place where people were asked to fill out an hourly diary for a week explaining what they did.
For any of us who worked for professional services firms and had to account for time in units as low as six or fifteen minutes, this was no big deal.
All you had to do was list, in hourly chunks, what you were working on and state whether you were supervising, doing or assisting.
However, it did cause a level of howling at the moon in some quarters.
Hard to know why.
Unless …
On the bright side it means the APS can hire people anywhere in Australia, not just Canberra. That will have to improve things over time.

Guy Gilboa-Dalal and Evyatar David were taken in a van to watch the hostage ‘ceremony’ yesterday.
Israel have responded by cancelling the release of 600 prisoners.
Hamas cruelty knows no bounds.
1400 years of perfecting terrorism.
Apart from his neighbours who dobbed him in. And we’ll see how smart the sand gropers are in the upcoming state election which also be a sign for rub and tug’s groin rub with the electorate.
A thought-provoking art installation in a major inner-city public garden has continued to spark mixed reactions with locals seemingly divided by the controversial work.
The $18,000 piece features a countdown clock tracking the days, hours, and minutes until 2030 — a pivotal year for climate action in Australia, marked by key national and international targets.
Installed at Fitzroy’s Edinburgh Gardens in October, three kilometres northeast of Melbourne’s CBD, the piece was created by local artist Yandell Walton and is dubbed “Zone Red”.
Presumably when 01/01/2030 is reached the 10 megaton bomb built into the plinth will detonate and destroy Melbourne. Or something.
Speaking to Yahoo News Australia, a City spokesman said the price is “a small part of a modest budget” that goes towards “supporting emerging local artists”.
Why is there any budget, modest or not, for that?
I’ll wager no conservative artist has seen a penny of it.
Much less $18,000 for “art” that was likely created on a bar napkin.
Just as DOGE is uncovering in the US, more leftist propaganda paid for by the rate payers.
In other news a recently released Palestinian fell off his roof yesterday and died.
He was a participant in the pizza parlour bombings.
Don’t know whether it was in retaliation for giving Israel Intel, or for being gay or both.
One better understands why 7 prisoners slated for release yesterday said they’d prefer to stay in an Israeli prison.
Israelis speculate that some are forced into participating in terrorism because they are gay and it’s that or being thrown off a roof.
You think Nazism and communism are bad, and then you see life under muslimism.
They’re not “gay”.
Under the caliphate their mating options are limited, thus they resort to the other, or are preyed upon by older ones who also have restricted options.
Australia, we have a problem, a very serious problem.
The social cohesion that Labor prime minister Bob Hawke celebrated in a landmark address on Australia Day, 1988, our Bicentennial year, is busted.
Hawke said the trait that made us an exceptional nation was our commitment to Australia. That commitment no longer defines Australians.
Hawke’s speech is no longer to be found on the official Australian Prime Ministers’ website because the social compact he praised is at odds with the actions of the Albanese government.
This government is rushing through citizenships this weekend in a transparent stacking of electoral rolls in marginal Labor seats in the hope their votes will cancel those who have had a gutful of the government.
These newly minted Australians are in Western Sydney electorates, including that of Immigration Minister Tony Burke’s Watson, as well as in the neighbouring seats of Werriwa, Blaxland and Fowler.
Burke and fellow minister Jason Clare have been painfully reluctant to call out those from their electorates who have been protesting against Israel and demonstrating hateful anti-Semitism.
As has been repeatedly stated by imams in Western Sydney mosques, the first commitment Muslims must observe is not to any nation but to their religion.
Long accepted Western values such as equal rights for men and women are an anathema to Islamic teaching.
The late mufti, Taj El-Din Hilali, even refused to sit and eat at the same table as a woman reporter from SBS when we met to discuss his interpretation of the Koran.
Many of the edicts spelled out in the Koran are at odds with the values Western liberal democracies have fought and died for since the Enlightenment – all forms of discrimination and slavery being among them.
Members of the Jewish community showed their disapproval of the Albanese government’s flaccid stand on Islamic terrorism when they booed and walked out when Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus was addressing Sky News’ anti-Semitism summit on Thursday.
Among the attendees was NSW Premier Chris Minns, whose strong stand against anti-Semitism shows up his federal counterparts’ belated recognition of the growing crisis.
Teal independent Allegra Spender, who like most Teal MPs, supported Foreign Minister Penny Wong’s $20m contribution to United Nations Relief and Works Agency, which has been shown to employ and shelter Hamas terrorists, was also in attendance.
Peter Dutton has vowed to backdate changes to visa laws to deport people deemed to have made antiSemitic statements if he wins the upcoming election. Mr Dutton says he would change the Migration Act so anti- Semitism was grounds for visa refusal.
The act (section 36C) now permits the cancellation of Australian citizenship for those who hold dual nationality and have been convicted of one or more crimes. Significantly, the minister currently holds wide powers to deport people if they fail the character test.
Deportation can follow if an offence is so serious and significant that it demonstrates that the offender has repudiated their allegiance to Australia or if they have engaged in conduct that demonstrates a repudiation of the values, democratic beliefs, rights and liberties which underpin Australian society.
The act also covers the degree, duration or scale, the involvement, conduct and scale of the offence as well as its impact. Given that many members of the Jewish community fear for their physical safety from the rancid anti-Semitism preached in some mosques, it is high time the Albanese government acted to repair the social compact.
Anal doesn’t want to ‘repair the social compact’.
His aim is to create a nation of tribes that he can play against each other.
That’s how practical Marxism works.
I’m beginning to regard the Australian Aboriginal flag as a symbol of separatism and ultra-nationalism. A symbol of hate, even: indigenous supremacy.
I feel offended by it; the decades of insults due to my Caucasian heritage, the misappropriation of my taxes to pay for division, but I don’t suppose my perception qualifies as valid to make a formal complaint?
That’s probably a jailable offence now. And no, I’m not jokeing.

Whatever his failings, and who hasn’t got those, Pope Francis dedicated his life to serving God and His children. He stands firm against the worst of modern evils, abortion, euthanasia, gender ideology and the Church marches on, as she always has, under good popes, indifferent popes and bad pope’s.
God bless him.
Pope Francis criticized the Trump administration’s stance on migrants, calling the president’s pledge of mass deportations “a major crisis.”
In a strongly worded letter to U.S. Catholic bishops, Francis wrote that it’s important for Catholics to disagree with any measure that identifies the illegal status of some migrants with criminality.
Pope Francis said Sunday he hadn’t spoken to Trump since the president-elect won the November election. He also called for countries with falling birth rates to accept more migrants.
Still solid on abortion and Euthanasia, which puts him I’m not sure where, when you factor in the nation destroying immigration stance and the rainbow unicorn adjacent idiocy.
Maybe a brief spell in purgatory to sort himself out.
Liberation theology being a bastardization of Catholicism that was planted in Latin/South America by the communists during the cold war. It’s a political rather than religious movement that promotes revolutionary socialism by focusing on perceptions of oppressors and oppressed.
Jorge has been a proponent of it since it was invented.
It was this more than anything else that JD Vance says initially attracted him to Catholicism, the institutional religous survival through all trials across more than 2000 years. Stability in belief for his children and a genuine conversion experience for him as he delved into theological matters.
Rosie, I am a born and raised Catholic from a very large clan. I still follow the faith, but Francis is not and has never been my Pope. He is a political creature. However, I pray for his soul to have an easy passing.

‘Anthony Albanese’s jelly-back spinelessness’: China’s loud and clear message
Peter Jennings, The Australian, 21 February 2025
Beijing uses its military forces to send what diplomats call “signals” or, in plainer language, threats and warnings. What messages does Xi Jinping want Australia to take from the imminent prospect of the Chinese navy firing missiles off our east coast? First, the Chinese military will fly and sail anywhere it damn well chooses. Second, it will fire long-range weapons, gather intelligence and assert its presence whenever and wherever it wants.
Third, we will have no choice but to shut civilian aircraft routes near the danger zone. And, if we approach their flotilla, we run the risk of being greeted with hostile moves ranging from locking weapons radars onto our platforms, using military lasers to harass our personnel, aggressive manoeuvring and even ramming.
A fourth message is that Beijing doesn’t care about the diplomatic relationship with Canberra. There is no concept in Chinese thinking of a “stabilised” relationship: that notion is a work of fiction created by Penny Wong and mouthed by Anthony Albanese.
Labor’s “stabilised relationship” is designed to serve a domestic political purpose to claim that Labor manages China relations better than the Morrison government.
Stabilised relationship? What deluded nonsense! Xi wants to pass the message that he sees Australia as a third-order power. Xi wants submission from Australia, not stability.
China’s strategy of more aggressive military posturing around the Australian coast has developing for years. Intelligence-gathering warships are regular visitors to our Pitch Black air and Talisman Sabre amphibious military exercises.
Chinese military survey vessels have operated around our west coast submarine base, HMAS Stirling. The People’s Liberation Army Navy is building a vast database of seabed and hydrographic information about Australia’s surrounds. Why does it do this? To maximise its ability to sink our navy, close our ports, shut down air traffic and blockade the country.
One Chinese aim is to establish a “new normal” of a regular, large-scale military presence around our coast. And note that China has not the least interest in pretending there is some element of partnering or collaboration with Australia.
In years past, we worked to an utterly deluded plan that engaging with the Chinese military would somehow build a warmer bilateral relationship. The Australian navy has done simple exercises with People’s Liberation Army Navy counterparts off the east coast, including live-fire gunnery.
Chinese navy ships have docked at our navy’s Sydney base, on one occasion – in June 2019 – arriving literally unannounced (we knew they were coming but not when they would arrive). It was on the 30th anniversary of the massacre in and around Tiananmen Square in Beijing.
It is not coincidental that China is engaging in this heightened level of military posturing at precisely the time Donald Trump’s anti-Ukraine, anti-NATO and anti-ally inclinations are coming to the fore.
I doubt that Beijing cares at all about how Australia responds to its naval manoeuvring. Its assessment of Albanese’s jelly-back spinelessness is already factored in.
What China will be interested in is America’s reaction. Will Trump or a senior cabinet official like Pete Hegseth or Marco Rubio say anything? Are we able to encourage or shape an American response? Beijing will see that as an important indicator of American interest in Australian and Pacific security.
What should Australia do? First, and immediately, get some ships out into the PLA Navy exercise area. We have a “legal” right to operate in international waters too.
Why make it easy for the Chinese navy? Let’s at least show them that our navy can match it with them in skilful manoeuvres. Let’s raise the cost to Beijing, not give it a free ride to demean us.
Is there any Australian navy platform on the east coast in a position to put to sea right now for that purpose? I do not know the answer to that question.
Second, this is surely a moment for the government and the opposition to quickly say that we must lift defence spending. Currently the defence budget languishes just below 2 per cent of GDP.
Spending should have been lifted to the old Cold War levels of 3 per cent of GDP years ago. That must happen now and the focus of that spending should be on strengthening the defence force we have today.
I’m sorry to say that, with government disinterest, the intellectual fight has gone out of Defence and the ADF. We cannot defend the country while our military ties itself up with committees, health and safety, DEI, and shaping the perfect fantasy force for the 2040s.
Until an Australian government rebuilds Defence to look and be like an organisation focused on fighting for our national interests, China will treat us as supine fools.
In all the polling happening around the upcoming federal election, it seems that public concerns on defence hardly ever break into the top 10 issues worrying voters. Our politicians know that and act accordingly.
China’s military and political leadership understands our lack of defence preparedness better than our own population. That’s why they are readying to fire missiles off our east coast. The cat is telling the mouse that it’s going to eat it for lunch, but the mouse is insisting our relations with the feline predator are really quite stable.
Over many years of arguing for a stronger Australian defence capability I have come to realise that almost no one understands or accepts that need. We will be the cat’s lunch unless our political leaders wake up to the global danger now posturing not far from Sydney Harbour.
I think Peter is underestimating Elbow & Pong’s achievements in this space.
They did get our rock lobsters back onto Chinese plates.
After reading this and all that it implies, I can’t think of a worse time for Dutton to be mouthing off about being against Trump’s plans for restoration of peace in Europe. Any sensible Australian conservative leader should be in lock step with the US, our most important and only ally of any note.
How stupid must we look to China considering to send troops to Ukraine when the Chinese military are taking the piss right on our doorstep?
Remember also that Dutton has promised better relations with China (whatever that means in reality) while Trump has signalled his intentions with the appointment of China hawks Hegseth and Rubio.
Dutton holds the position of Howard the war monger- that Trump is a buffoon with no finesse for global politics. Getting sh*t done is a vulgarity. This is a potentially dangerous path to take , as the Chinese are demonstrating now.

“Small PSA: I will block – without my usual mercy to the lost etc – to anyone who is rude or derogatory to Pope Francis in this time. This Pope never sought the Petrine throne & had his predecessor had the fortitude of his successor, would have been spared its crushing burdens.”
THERE IS NO QUESTION A CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE IS BEING RUN IN THE STATE OF ARIZONA BY THE CRIMINAL KATIE HOBBS.
Investigation and prosecution by the FBI and the DOJ it’s long overdue.
A: Katie Hobbs is now being investigated for bribery, fraud conspiracy and racketeering. The Chairman of the Joint Legislative Committee has informed Maricopa County’s investigator that the Auditor General will assist in the investigation.
This comes after The Arizona Republic detailed how state contractor Sunshine Residential Homes bribed Gov. Katie Hobbs and AZ Democrats with $400,000 and in returns got millions more in state money.
“In my capacity as chairman of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee, I want you to know that the Auditor General’s Office stands ready to partner with you in getting the facts about this troubling matter. Make no mistake, we will allocate the resources the Auditor General needs to help restore what appears to be a major breach of trust in our government.”
B: Additionally Arizona State lawmakers are now investigating Katie Hobbs after $339 MILLION “disappeared.”
As Hobbs’s budget director also mysteriously resigns,
State Senator Alex Kolodin: “Imagine my shock when the Legislature was informed the State has several insolvent agencies and requires a $339 million bailout to close out the current Fiscal Year. Since your liaisons dedicated to briefing members of the Legislature failed to provide detail on how we got here, I am putting my request in writing: Arizonans deserve to know the details. Why did you mislead the legislature about the spending you intended to approve? In just two weeks’ time, I’ve learned that the problem has worsened and that your office’s request is now $350 million.”
Everyone, except me of course. It would be presumptuous for me to try to measure someone else’s faith with my own ill informed yardstick.
We are told we will know the believer by their works. And that for those with higher authority, more will be expected. That’s as far as I’m prepared to go.
I’d rather leave judgement to the Almighty. I have a horrid feeling I might get it all very wrong. And I have a sneaky suspicion that heaven will be full of surprises, both those who are there and those who are missing.
If I didn’t have faith that those types would suffer for their actions, there would be little point in believing at all.
I’ll happily take my judgement, as long as they get theirs.
I thought you were doing Mathew 7.
What does it matter what people profess wrt how we should judge people?
Is it we should judge “not at all” or with a mind that we aren’t in full possession of the facts, and that somehow our judgements of others will apply to ourselves?
Can we judge categories of people?
Can we judge behaviours?
How atrocious does an action have to be that we can make some type of preliminary judgement of the person?
Can we cross the street if someone with a gang tattoo and a scowl on their face approaches?
And that for those with higher authority, more will be expected.
Popes do set a high bar for themselves in that regard.
Happily, salvation is by grace through faith, not works.
Even when the reformers labelled the papacy as antichrist because of its official condemnation of the gospel, they maintained that, by a felicitous inconsistency, an individual pope might still enter heaven if he placed all his hope for salvation on Jesus.
There is nothing wrong with believers expressing desires for better outcomes for the Faith and humankind. As for his fitness, it’s not ours to be concerned with I agree.
It’s also a good thing to pray for Francis while he still lives. Hebrews 4 urges us to look beyond men to our Great High Priest and approach his throne with confidence. I hope and pray that Francis is doing that now.
Not sure why the Pope gets an exemption.
He may have held firm on what some might say are core Catholic doctrines, but generally he is a f-cking idiot.
I did enjoy Homan putting him back in his box the other day on immigration.
As you are replying to me…I didn’t give the Pope an exemption from presumptuous judgement by Almighty Me. (The original premise was his ultimate destination).
I gave it to every person who professes faith in Christ.
I can assess his words and actions as either consistent or inconsistent with scripture, but that’s a whole other thing.
DNC Chair just gave away the game on MSNBC…they are sending democrats to town halls to yell at republicans and then the news pretends it’s republican voters.
The real question for anyone considering being a castle or a knight leave alone a pawn in the Pacific’s Great Game is, if you side with the US, will you be treated like Ukraine has been treated? Remember, just as in that case, there is an ocean between you and the US, and in the end, their opponent if victorious, may be haggling over your resources as they sort out the peace with or without you at the table, while also asking you to payback whatever ‘investment’ they made in their folly.
Our economy and therefore (rapidly declining) standard of living is indelibly linked to the CCP.
Our national security is wholly dependent on the good graces of the USA.
Our own Defence Forces are more interested in the colour of their nail polish than fighting fitness and regional effectiveness/deterrent.
Both UNiparty stalwarts want to stifle freedom and for citizens to STFU but swallow hundreds of thousands more shitholers in. While they impoverish us.
Moslems will very likely decide who governs us next.
We are in a straight jacket of our own making. Fk knows where we are headed really but no destinations look very palatable at the moment.
Also start cultivating our own leaders. I am hearing of an influx of laterals who seem to being gifted plum key positions over our own troops. Our boy are pulling the pin when given the choice of Pilbara WA or Katherine NT over NSW or southern Queensland that has been left open or filled by a lateral.
Are you for serious?
You spent three years taking Russia’s side and making the case for not involving the USA in Ukraine, and now you say nations should be wary of the USA and embrace China because the USA doesn’t involve itself strongly enough?
I think you just zeroed every single argument you regurgitated from Russia these last 36 months.
The Trump derangement is looking like the least of your problems at this point.
Had the US not offered NATO membership in 2008, organized a coup in 2014, and so on, what Mersheimer calls leading Ukraine up the primrose path in his 2015 lecture, Ukraine would still have Crimea and the Donbass and avoided war.
As for having ‘zeroed every argument’, which makes no sense in this instance, you’ve remained mightily silent as Trump stated Ukraine provoked Russia, etc. thus zeroing every slop argument you’ve eaten off the ground that was regurgitated by this or that neocon shill.
I think we can safely differentiate between Ukraine and Australia.
I don’t think Trump will abandon the Ukrainian people, just Zelenskys puppet leadership, end the war and end the State sponsored corruption that’s been occurring since it became colour revolutioned into a vassal state run by the State Dept, CIA and EU at least a decade ago.
If the cost of that to Ukraine is partioning the eastern regions that identify as Russian culturally anyway, that would be a sensible and long-overdue outcome. I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump requires new referenda in the Donbas, Luhansk, Crimea to re-validate that as well.
What will be really interesting is how much EU countries are willing to commit to the reconstruction phase on a no strings attached basis.

Had the US not offered NATO membership in 2008, organized a coup in 2014, and so on, what Mersheimer calls leading Ukraine up the primrose path in his 2015 lecture, Ukraine would still have Crimea and the Donbass and avoided war.
Idiotic what ifs with shaky premises aside, if we are asking “What if”?
What if those of us who told you that deindustrialising was a bad idea and that our defences depended on our industries had been listened to?
Would Russia invade Ukraine if the industrial heartlands of the West were pumping out products?
Would a Chinese flotilla be diverting our aircraft?
And we might ask ourselves: “Who decided to place all the high tech silicon chip foundries in an island less than 200 km from mainland China, like an open invitation”?
Idiotic what ifs. The practical world is all about ‘what ifs’, what if I do this rather than that? Will what I desire be more likely to occur or not?
As to your two questions, the same re 1 because Russia considers the US in Ukraine an existential threat. Re 2, less likely or simply delayed but situation closer to China similar.
No, the practical world is about assigning probabilities to future events, and deliberating appropriate actions based on those probabilities, not pondering things that did not occur and holding some chip on your shoulder over it.
For yourself and I, the only point in this discussion is deciding what is likely to occur, so that we might prepare for it.
Given that neither of us has any say in it, even if we could persuade others to our view, the value of that persuasion to ourselves is zero.
So the only value in the discussion, is does what you have to say have any predictive power?
I’ll make a prediction: in the event of any Trump backed settlement occurring, Russia will have to vacate most of Zaphorizhia, and accept some security guarantee to Ukrainian sovereignty outside of any given by Russia.
What do you have?
The only reason people don’t want to revisit alternative courses of action available to them is because the present course was a disaster and they want to avoid responsibility for their earlier choice.
As to my prediction, the Russians aren’t going to budge from their previous bottom line which means the land bridge is not up for grabs.
Fraternity brothers at the University of North Carolina protected an American flag from desecration by anti-Israel demonstrators; a lighthearted GoFundMe campaign quickly raised $US516,000 for them to throw “a world-class party”.
It’s not a slogan; it was an observation made by Bernard Lewis based on US policy in Afghanistan and he offered it as a friendly warning to the US, which has a history of leaving allies (“interests” in Kissinger’s lexicon) in the lurch. Just ask the Brits.
You could almost say the downside of democracy where different administrations have different policies and opinions on how the world should be. You could definitely say that dictatorships don’t have such problems.
Sure, but the Brit’s were the original perfidious Albion don’t forget, the US just took on the mantle once the Brit’s had been bled out.

I’ve longed believed that if not for the uncertainty of volcanic activity, China would have a ‘rest and recreation’ naval base or ‘research facility’ in Simpson Harbour, Rabaul by now.
The video examines the intricate and precarious economic system of Hong Kong, highlighting how its real estate market and tax advantages fueled prosperity. Hong Kong’s model relied on limited land supply to inflate property prices, generating revenue to support low taxes and world-class public services. Wealthy Chinese individuals, wary of keeping their assets within China’s volatile landscape, became key investors in Hong Kong’s property market due to its economic freedom and legal protections. However, Hong Kong’s unique “freedom without democracy” setup meant no political accountability to address housing issues, crucial for sustaining this system. The 2019 pro-democracy protests prompted Beijing to impose a “National Security Law,” eroding economic freedom and aligning Hong Kong closer to mainland China. Consequently, wealthy Chinese began exploring other financial havens, diminishing property demand. The video underscores the challenges posed by the U.S.-China trade tensions, escalating emigration, and declining land sale revenue, which threaten Hong Kong’s economic stability by potentially raising taxes or cutting services. Overall, Hong Kong risks losing its distinctive advantages, becoming more like other global cities devoid of its special economic freedoms.
In the video, Matt Goodwin argues that multiculturalism in Britain has failed, citing an inability of certain communities to integrate into mainstream British society, particularly Muslim communities. He highlights a rise in sectarianism, anti-Semitism, communal violence, and cultural practices incompatible with British values, such as cousin marriage and demands for religious accommodations. Goodwin suggests that Britain’s current immigration and integration policies are unsustainable and proposes a significant reduction in immigration, focusing on high-skilled migrants from culturally compatible nations. He advocates for robust integration strategies, including breaking segregated communities and enforcing a single legal and social framework. Goodwin warns that without decisive action, Britain risks societal division and unrest, and suggests adopting more stringent measures to prioritize national security and cohesion.
Matt Goodwin argues that multiculturalism in Britain has failed,
Not just in Britain, multiculturalism has failed everywhere it has been tried. It only leads to struggle for supremacy among various cultures. For peace, prosperity and national well-being you must have integration and assimilation.

Wow Dutton isn’t going to win if he allows the ALP & media dictate the election campaign narrative:
Something else that isn’t mentioned is the gap between regional and urban Australians in access to GPs & specialists which is reflected in mortality rates.
Yes which is stupid to be drawn on it. We already know about the dodgy off budget shenanigans wallet wizard has played. The black holes are large and in the open.
Frankly they should be trying to shift their narrative to economics, immigration and cost of living not playing to the ALP’s strengths which is what happened today.
Let the ALP play silly games with medicare and just state we wont change the present system or words to the effect.
I really don’t care how they are going to pay for it. If there are billions for NDIS for a much smaller section of the population then there can be funds for the rest of us. If things blow up then we will see who wins by where the politicians think are more votes.
One other thing, if there are billions for renewables subsidies and spending then they better find money for health as well. Maybe this will force the politicians to discard the renewables.
I really don’t care how they are going to pay for it. If there are billions for NDIS for a much smaller section of the population then there can be funds for the rest of us.
The bad news, Crossie, is that you’ll be paying for it (or your children and their children).
Either through cuts to other services or higher taxes or borrowings that’ll have to be repaid by subsequent generations or all three.
It’s bad policy – if you can call it policy – and Dutton has just made Angus Taylor’s job of reforming Australia’s economy much harder.
Given the stakes on the table, I have some sympathy for this one particular case – with nothing else to point to, the traditional ALP Mediscare is probably Mr 29 Pussent’s strongest shot.
Albanese in Launceston today:
My fellow Australians, this election is a make or break moment for Medicare. A re-elected Labor government will make it easier for Australians to see a doctor for free. We will make Medicare stronger than it has ever been. But if the Liberals get their way, they will break bulk billing and break the promise that Medicare is built on. […]
Only Labor is building stronger Medicare and only Labor is building Australia’s future. Thanks very much.
So, the traditional Medicare zinger.
Dutton has also upped the ante by calling on Albanese to recall parliament to approve Budget funding for Medibank before calling the election.
And the defanging makes it difficult for the love media too. The ABC and Grauniad have both had to grudgingly note that Dutton has matched Albanese’s pork, and called for bipartisan support for the measure.
It’s unlikely to be a winning stroke. But, at the end of the day, given that the bastards are going to spread our money around like confetti anyway, I’d rather it be spread widely through the economy on something vaguely beneficial rather than laid out on jolly japes like Green Hydrogen and Green Steel.
(Plus there’s the Schadenfreude dividend, knowing that little black Canbra souls will be writhing.)
Dutton has adopted the Crisafulli election campaign strategy. As soon as the ALP comes out with a massive spending package (unfunded or not) the punters might vote for, the LNP will match it.
it seems to have worked in the Qld election, but it has left Qlders in a very unfortunate financial position.

Yesterday I bought my first set of AirPods with Active Noise Cancelling.
DAMN!
I am able to sit in the pub listening to the Adagio 2nd movement of Mendelssohn’s Double Concerto for Violin and Piano, and it is so peaceful, and limpid clear.
When I turn off the noise cancellation it is just a racket and the music lost.
I do believe “HOT damn!” is the apt exclamation.

No idea what you’re lolling about here, JC. You’re first response implied that the article was promoting PPP in order to boost China, now you’ve reversed this position.
I haven’t reversed anything. You said the piece wasn’t about PPP. It was, but mostly about how PPP doesn’t do China justice. According to the piece It doesn’t go far enough!
No, there is an inbetween position. That of being critical or suspicious of articles promoting regime talk points. The above article was not offered uncritically but as asking a question worth considering, not only about China but about other economies too.
Your in-between position is to deride anything and everything in Western MSM that contradicts your bias. Now, you defend a piece from a tightly controlled media outlet in a totalitarian state, where statistics are as valuable as used toilet paper.
Let me explain something: Real GDP and real GDP per capita at market exchange rates is the way to make a rough and ready comparison. PPP isn’t. Real GDP is not perfect, but it’s good enough.
China has about four times the U.S. population, so pointing out that it uses more electricity than the U.S. or sells more cars than the U.S.—when it’s a middle-income country—is a really stupid way to analyze things.”

Do all doctors want to be employed by the government?
Short answer – Mostly yes (like Orwell’s farm animals).
They valued their independence & professionalism enough to resist when Medicare started 40 years ago but most of the docs who were in practice then have died or retired. The professional organisations including the AMA and Colleges have gone woke and submitted or were bludgeoned into submission by successive governments. The population has been conditioned to expect “free” medical care and demographic change in the profession has not helped. Few people now have any idea of what the pre-Medicare state of health care was like. There will be a severe shortage of GPs eventually as no medical graduate with any sense would choose that as a career. In the public system we will end up being treated for “minor” conditions by pharmacists and nurses and endure long waiting lists to see expensive specialists for belated treatment for anything serious. i.e. the role model of the UK NHS will gradually be adopted here.
A few years ago I was at a specialist College meeting where the President was bemoaning a reduction to bulk billing payments for certain items. I tried to remind him that such a thing was inevitable as soon they accepted bulk billing for anything but the reaction was akin to what J.D. Vance experienced at that security meeting in Germany.
Hi Vagabond
could you please spell it out for me why Medicare is a bad system.
i understand the comment people expect free healthcare, I remember going to network meetings were people big note themselves and then complain they were slipped a $50 gap fee by their gp.
Scheduled fees for gp are low $200 to $300 per hr – you can’t compensate for the years of study.
what are the other bludgeoning effects of Medicare on the medical profession .
finally – your opinion on the umat.
ihave a daughter who romped it in but the umat did not think she was doctor material – she’s a physio.
i also like your opinion on the massive hecs debts accrued for health professionals and the high scores which chain people to 10ths of study to get to their desired course.
I haven’t reversed anything. You said the piece wasn’t about PPP. It was, but mostly about how PPP doesn’t do China justice. According to the piece It doesn’t go far enough!
Come now, that doesn’t make sense of your first comment which was a throwaway one about PPP.
Your in-between position is to deride anything and everything in Western MSM that contradicts your bias. Now, you defend a piece from a tightly controlled media outlet in a totalitarian state, where statistics are as valuable as used toilet paper
And you of course accept anything and everything the Western MSM say that contradicts your bias? Give me a break.

First off, I don’t inhale everything the Western media puts out. I’m very selective and careful. You, on the other hand, grab anything and everything that fits your bias, often from highly suspect sources. Furthermore, I’m using your own template. You frequently assert that a piece has no value simply because it comes from Western mainstream media. As I’ve pointed out, you’ve relied on such disparaging assertions as an argument, yet here you are defending Asia Times, which is controlled by a totalitarian state. Try some occasional self-reflection.

“Commercial shipbuilding? Yeah, the US can just ask its allies.
Okay, let’s do a stupid comparison with that nonsense piece you posted, since we’re now focusing on just one aspect.
Let’s try some more.
It says China consumes two times more electricity. China has four times the US population.
It says China produces 22 times more cement than the US. The US is a mature economy with mature infrastructure; China isn’t. Why would that be surprising? Also, let’s add that China has gone through a massive over the top infrastructure spend.
China produces 30 million vehicles per year. Leaving aside that China exports a proportion of these cars while the US doesn’t, and leaving aside that many Chinese are buying a car for the first time while Americans are replacing older models, why is this a standout stat?
There’s two times more meat consumption—another standout?
Smartphones: 424 million in China vs. 144 million in the US. What about the quality? And why is this a standout when it roughly aligns with population proportions?
AADS is becoming a real thing for you.
Here’s one more thing to ponder, since we’re now diving into history. For the past few years, I’ve often suggested that the US, like other nations, can make the wrong turn. However, I’ve also maintained that the US has an amazing ability to course-correct, and that we should wait for the 2024 election. We’re seeing this play out live now, in fast motion.
Tell us: When do you think Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran will hold fair and honest elections without impediments like jailing opposition leaders or throwing them out of hotel windows—now referred to as SRDS (Sudden Russian Death Syndrome)? When do you think Iranian women will be able to safely walk down the street without being beaten to within an inch of their lives for wearing a hood an inch above their nose? I’ll leave Iran’s proxies out of this because, with one exception, they’ve been almost wiped out. These are your guys. The fun crowd you’re now running with.
One other thing Dover. A few days ago you were critical of Trump’s new IVF policy. I’m assuming you’re critical of this policy for quasi religious reasons. If I’m wrong on this assumption you can of course correct me.
How though does this criticism square with your support of some of the most callously, murderous regimes around?
Re 1, I never said you inhaled everything the Western MSM puts out, I implied that you curated it according to your own biases, so your comparison and accusation above is nonsense. When it pumped out pro-Ukraine trash you loved it, when it pumped out Trump was a Russian stooge you trashed it, and the like. Moreover, I haven’t been universally derisive of the Western MSM, when its produced news that contradicts its previous narrative line I’ve indicated its either making admissions it can no longer hide given the passage of events, or its indicating a shift in position among its coterie. As for me deriding a source for no other reason that its Western MSM, by and large this is false. For instance, re Korean troops in Ukraine, I’ve been sceptical of these claims because they have been backed by little to no evidence.
Re 2, they are standout stats because they indicate enormous productive capacity. In the case of a conflict between the two, the difference in population size vs industrial output is not going to be compensated by the fact that China has relatively more people. In fact, that they have more people and capable of producing more iron, cement, cars, etc. absolutely by factors of 2 or 10 or 30 doesn’t diminish, it will only grow as they become more efficient.
That’s no way to talk about the UK’s Ambassador to the Donald.
If I ever get the urge to bait lefties – unlikely, I know – I think I might start using terms like “emissary to the Court of Donald II” or “The Sun King”.
Further to a good laugh, last night I went to a Shabbat Seudah and a woman with Trump Derangement Syndrome got up to speak about how evil Donald Trump is. Most people in attendance, including me, just rolled our eyes. The woman spent a good five minutes dissing on Trump, almost everything she said was ignorant but then a Chabad rabbi in attendance got up, and holding his two small children on each hand said…
‘Gotta run’ and then he started singing YMCA and doing the Donald Trump YMCA dance whilst holding his children.
Thanks, Bruce. There are many issues taking space in headlines. Persecution of Christians is so commonplace and systemic it occupies a tiny column, if any at all.
The Wukkas Paradise is running out of other peoples money yet again and the Parasite Communists are grabbing every bit of sustenance before the people die and take it with them.
I have read other pieces about deep malaise in China, and the proliferation of so-called “revenge killings” against innocent victims, particularly children.
Zulu, I always took that Tube scene as being metaphorical, not historical. Artistic license.
I love how the nitpickers love to focus on the minutiae, not the substance. This movie was not a documentary. Their bias shows like a pair of knickers that have lost their elastic (to give an historical jibe).
One of the scenes that will remain embedded in my memory is the dropping of bombs over Calais and the fate of the garrison there. Nicholson and his gallant, ill fated men.
These are the stories that the Men Without Chests will always want to be suppressed.
Also, if we’re going to discuss “conversations that never happened” where’s the critique of the phone call with FDR?

I really don’t care how they are going to pay for it. If there are billions for NDIS for a much smaller section of the population then there can be funds for the rest of us.
The bad news, Crossie, is that you’ll be paying for it (and your children and their children and their children).
Either through cuts to other services or higher taxes or borrowings that’ll have to be repaid by subsequent generations or all three.
So much for the Liberals being the party of reform.
Angus Taylor will be wondering what other surprises Dutton has in store for him.
And you of course accept anything and everything the Western MSM say that contradicts your bias? Give me a break.
What I don’t do is summarily dismiss something just because it comes from Western mainstream media. This is what you do. However, you accept statistics and opinions based on those statistics from a totalitarian state. What I don’t do is steer toward propaganda swill if I can help it, yet you seem to embrace and defend it.
When it pumped out pro-Ukraine trash you loved it, when it pumped out Trump was a Russian stooge you trashed it, and the like.
I haven’t supported pro-Ukraine stuff. I have certainly supported anti-klepto crap that you often come out with. It’s not the same as supporting Ukraine propaganda. However, nothing deters me from believing this was an attempt at annexing Ukraine because Mr. 87% hankers for a version of the old Soviet empire.
Moreover, I haven’t been universally derisive of the Western MSM, when its produced news that contradicts its previous narrative line I’ve indicated its either making admissions it can no longer hide given the passage of events, or its indicating a shift in position among its coterie.
Sure
As for me deriding a source for no other reason that its Western MSM, by and large this is false.
It’s not false at all. You’ve done it to me and others here without even providing a shred of a counter argument. Rubbishing the source appears enough for you. Again, yet here you are linking a propaganda publication.
For instance, re Korean troops in Ukraine, I’ve been sceptical of these claims because they have backed by little to no evidence.
Skeptical or downright unbelieving? You know the difference, obviously. Yet you have no claim to anything to provide evidence to the contrary.
Re 2, they are standout stats because they indicate enormous productive capacity.
You mean production capacity. Productive capacity isn’t the same thing.
How much cement do you need in war? They import iron ore, which would mean their entire capacity to build war material would come to a screeching halt.In fact they import close to 50% of their protein and most of that is by sea. Good luck.
How about a Re 3.
What’s with the support for those murderous, anti-human totalitarian states?
You have to work with the materials you are presented with.
Either that or don’t bother.

WA government says damage to 249 heritage sites warrants $5m-$10m in compensationBrad Thompson
36 minutes ago
The Australian Business Network 11 Comments
The West Australian government has sent shockwaves through the resources industry by claiming the destruction of more than 200 significant Aboriginal heritage sites in the construction of a major iron ore mine warrants a damages payment of only $5m-$10m.
WA’s Labor government has put forward the view in a landmark legal dispute involving the Andrew Forrest-led Fortescue and its Solomon mine in the Pilbara.
The Yindjibarndi people are fighting a landmark $1.8bn compensation case in the Federal Court that comes on the back of a string of previous legal victories over Fortescue, with lawyers for the WA government claiming any payout should a fraction of what the indigenous group is seeking.
Lawyers specialising in native title said the price tag WA had put on heritage destruction raised questions about the whole Indigenous agreement system underpinning mining in Australia and whether companies should be paying out royalties which routinely amount to more than $50m a year to individual traditional owner groups.
Gilbert + Tobin partner and native title expert Marshall McKenna the Federal Court case was being watched closely across the resources industry, with the outcome likely to shape future compensation deals between companies and traditional owners.
“If you’re wanting project certainty, if you’re wanting to make final investment decisions, there’s a lot of value in having an agreement (with traditional owners),” he said.
“It’s a multi-factor play but when it comes down to just being economically rational, there is no sane reason for paying the kind of money that a number of mining and oil and gas companies have paid. It’s just a number that they can afford to feel that they’ve got their ESG (environment, social and governance approval) under their belt.
“Pretty much anybody who has done a compensation deal is paying more than the Federal Court will award (in the Yindjibarndi case).
“There is a lot of water to go under this particular bridge, but if the court spits out $5m-$10m, then a lot of people are going to be needing to look very carefully at what they’re offering moving forward, because it’s great to be a nice guy but if you’re a director of a company, you’ve actually got to look after your shareholders as well.”
Yindjibarndi Aboriginal Corporation boss Michael Woodley said the government’s assessment was shameful and hypocritical.
The Yindjibarndi allege Fortescue destroyed more than 240 culturally significant sites – including rock shelters similar to those at the centre of Juukan Gorge debacle involving Rio Tinto – in building and operating the Solomon mine. The group’s total claim, including factors like economic loss and community division, is $1.8bn.
Mr Woodley said that by devaluing Aboriginal heritage the WA government risked a backlash that could see traditional owner groups withdraw from negotiations with miners.
National Native Title Council president Kado Muir condemned the WA government and accused it of “low balling” the deep pain and suffering caused by the destruction of important heritage and spiritual sites.
The WA government did not respond to questions from The Australian on the issue, including whether its position in the Yindjibarndi case delegitimised the much larger sums of money it had paid out in striking far-reaching native title settlements in the South West, Mid West and Goldfields regions of WA.
Fortescue and the WA government were left exposed to the Yindjibarndi compensation claim in 2020 when the High Court denied the Forrest-controlled mining company special leave to appeal earlier Federal Court rulings that in effect meant a large part of Solomon was built without the permission of the traditional owners.
The Federal Court had granted the Yindjibarndi exclusive native title over 2700sq km in the iron ore-rich Pilbara, which in effect recognises them as private owners of the highest legal standing with a spiritual connection that allows them to decide who mines the land.
Mr Woodley, who has been leading the Yindjibarndi battle with Fortescue for about 18 years, said he was appalled the WA government could argue the destruction of hundreds of heritage sites amounted to such a small financial penalty in terms of compensation.
“This position of the state government takes us back 50 years to that colonial mentality and attitudes that they can come in and take what they want,” Mr Woodley said.
Fortescue has exported more than $50bn of iron ore from Solomon since 2013 and the mine is expected to continue operating for decades. The WA government has pocketed hundreds of millions of dollars in royalties from the mine.
Fortescue was granted approval to damage or destroy 249 sites across the area under section 18 of WA’s Aboriginal Heritage Act, the same legislation that gave Rio the legal authority to destroy the Juukan Gorge rock shelters in 2019.
Archaeologists have told the court there were five rock-shelter sites within Solomon “which by virtue of their great age and repeated occupation through time are, in our opinion, based on our study, training and experience as archaeologists, of national significance”.
National Native Title Council president Kado Muir condemned the WA government and accused it of “low balling” the deep pain and suffering caused by the destruction of important heritage and spiritual sites.
Oh for a single reporter to stick a microphone in this fat* bastard’s face and ask, “how much money would it take to make the pain and suffering dissappear? Say to the nearest billion?”

Kado Muir is from around here. Stood for the greens a while back (quell surprise) then for the nationals. Wikipedia page neglects to tell us he claims connection with the land around here because his dad’s first wife was a local. the local mob are not keen to allow him in on their approved(thanks

About time this BS was sent to the HC, corporations have pockets deep enough. Mining is destructive to any previous landform, it will even after rehab never ever be the carbon copy of the former.
But they need to explain to the bench these sites in 10K or 20K years will changes as well. Nothing is forever.

Yeah, cement isn’t useful defensively or economically. Re iron ore, China has large deposits of its own as does Russia, as does Brazil. I’m sure they’ll work something out, same re food stuff. ————————————————————
The U.S. economy is significantly more productive than China’s on a per-worker or per-hour basis, largely due to differences in technology, capital investment, and economic structure. In 2023, the U.S. nominal GDP was around $26 trillion, while China’s was about $18 trillion. However, China has a much larger workforce—roughly 750 million workers compared to the U.S.’s 160 million. If we approximate productivity using GDP per worker, the U.S. produces about $162,500 per worker annually ($26 trillion ÷ 160 million), while China produces around $24,000 per worker ($18 trillion ÷ 750 million). This suggests the U.S. is roughly 6.8 times more productive per worker.

Explain to a novice like me, how much cement would your guys need in what would be a naval engagement with the US? Are the building cement ships now? To repeat, they import almost half their protein. They would fcking starve.

I watched the Juan Browne Blancolirio youtoob on the Toronto prang again.
This time I watched it on the 1/4 acre HD TeeVee rather than the phone.
I tend to agree with what was observed here yesterday, that the aircraft simply didn’t flare (that is, the nose is pulled up just prior to touchdown to both slow the rate of descent and wash off a bit of speed).
The approach looked alright by the numbers shown and a crosswind component of 14 kts (gusting 21 kts) shouldn’t have been a problem.
One thing which struck me was the observation that there was light snow blowing across the runway.
Juan raised the issue that, whilst the snow wouldn’t have significantly degraded braking, the blowing snow could have been a distraction (and I suspect might have partially obscured runway markings).
I learnt to fly on tarmac runways with standard markings, and the first time I flew into a dirt strip I experienced a similar thing. Without the visual cues from the white markings (which conform to very strict dimensions) I found the ground coming up very fast. I managed to gather it up and it wasn’t a hard landing by any stretch, but it was a bit of a lesson.
I assume they had radio-altimeter callouts which should have helped.
Given both pilots survived they can obviously provide information on what they were thinking – providing they are isolated from each other and any other external videos etc before interview.
I don’t love DEI, but I think we should wait until we have an investigation before deciding on causes.
The other thing which Browne raises which looks funny is the complete failure of the right wing on touchdown.
Yeah, it was a heavy landing, but not one which looked like it would break the jet in half.
Yes, as Eyrie said. The jet hit hard, the right undercarriage strut broke and collapsed. The right wing then hit hard also and it broke off too. Whereupon the left wing due to aerodynamic lift pulled the fusilage over onto its back.
Everything after “right undercarriage broke” is a consequence of that initial event.
Just to the naked eye it was surprising to see the undercarriage give up so relatively easily.
But, you know, they’ve got all the bits, and some dour metallurgical guy can go over it and investigate if there was some pre-existing fatigue, or whether the impact exceeded design limits.
And no doubt the manufacturer’s engineers will be doing an inventory to make sure all the components are present.
Similar event happened a couple weeks ago when a private jet landed in Arizona and the left undercarriage failed. That caused the jet to veer to the left and collide with another parked private jet.
Bombardier CRJ (Canadair Regional Jet).
Same as the one the Blackhawk took out in DC.
Not Boeing.

No expense is spared to get the world’s best jockey, Australian James McDonald, to the races.
McDonald last night piloted Cox Plate champion Romantic Warrior to a gallant second in the world’s richest horse race, the $US20 million Saudi Cup in Riyadh Saudi Arabia – then chartered a jet to fly eight hours back to Hong Kong to win the Hong Kong Gold Cup at Sha Tin aboard $1.35 favourite Voyage Bubble an hour or so ago.
Australian jockeys think nothing of hopping on a Cathay Pacific flight in Melbourne or Sydney on Saturday night to ride in Hong Kong the next day.
But McDonald’s mad dash from Riyadh arrived at lunch time today, about four hours before the jump in the Hong Kong Cup.
It helps being able to put yourself to sleep on command — which is beyond mere mortals. It’s somewhat easier when your sleeping pill is the millions of dollars you put in the bank each year.
Dutton leads, Labor on course for election defeat according to shock pollBy David CroweFebruary 23, 2025 — 3.00pm

Voters have lifted Opposition Leader Peter Dutton to a significant new lead in the race for power at the federal election, backing him as a strong leader while slashing their core support for Labor to a new low of 25 per cent.
The shift has taken the Coalition to a lead of 55 per cent in two-party terms when Australians are asked how they would allocate their preferences on their ballot papers, driving Labor to just 45 per cent and putting it on course for defeat.
In a warning sign for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, an exclusive survey also shows that 59 per cent of voters say the good news for the government last week – when the Reserve Bank cut interest rates – will not change their vote.
55:45 two party preferred?
Shit, that is a total crash!
It was 51:49 / 52:48 a week or two ago.
As I said last week, the trend wasn’t looking good for Luigi.
But, Jeez that is moving towards Whyalla Wipeout territory.
Seeing Wallet Wizard on the gogglebox tonight with that stupid schoolboy grin made me think he’s already eyeing off leader of the opposition job.

Dutton Labor Lite leads, Labor Proper on course for election defeat according to shock poll
The worst government since Whitlam deserves no less.
This will finally see off the residual R-G-R personnel and under the left’s recent dominance the Labor Party has fostered no talent to rejuvenate the party’s prospects with middle Australia. Labor’s future is the low 20s.
That’s the good news.
The bad news is that the Liberals/NP collectively (there are a couple of exceptions) haven’t spent enough time in opposition to focus their minds on what needs to be done.
In preparation for the coming launch of this year’s Drive to Survive on Netflix, and that Red Bull got booed at the livery reveal last week, I watched the final episode of 2022 DtS for the 2021 F1 season covering when Max Veerstappen beat Lewis Hamilton to the championship on the last lap of the year: Red Bull and Max are pricks.
Hamilton might be a multi-multi millionaire driver and part time amateur victim, but even so he deserved to win and Max is a prick.
And one might ask where all that money is coming from.
Climate200 is clearly a money laundering conduit for renewables grifters.
I wonder if we might find USAID money made it’s way here.
I saw Hamer with Steve Price on Friday night, dribbling about globule worming and net zero. What hope do we have. She spouts the same drivel as the greens.
In less than 3 months the Harris campaign spent over $1.5B total and was over $20m in debt when the smoke cleared. They email-bombed their (former) donors asking them to make up the loss. Few responded so the Dem party will eat the cost of their farce.
FEC filings suggest that the Harris campaign paid $1m to Oprah Winfrey for an opportunity for Kamala to appear on her show, which nobody watches. It seems paying millions for endorsements of grade C celebrities isn’t a path to electoral success. Who knew?
On the other hand, Trump spent $382m total, and he campaigned for 3-4 years, not 3 months. He also paid his own travel bills while Harris and her entourage flew around in USAF executive jets and stayed in luxury accommodations on the US taxpayer’s money.
One REALLY has to ask where that money went but the Dem party doesn’t seem too enthused about a public audit for some reason…

When politicians do the women’s weekly type mags, it’s all over.
There are allegedly 2.9 million Palestinians living in the West bank.
Some Israelis claim that West bank population numbers are grossly exaggerated to maximise aid, Arabs building enormous multi family dwellings that are mostly empty, or used as terror bases.
I would believe it.
“Defense Minister Israel Katz says he has instructed the IDF to stay for the next year in West Bank refugee camps that have been cleared of terror operatives and civilians, and not allow anyone to return.
“40,000 Palestinians have so far evacuated from the Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams refugee camps, and are now empty of residents. UNRWA activity in the camps has also been stopped.” Katz says in a statement….”
Unwra numbers for the three camps are much higher than those now claimed to be displaced.
Eg Tulkarm alone was supposed to gave nearly 28,000 registered refugees in 2023 (according to Unwra)
It is squeezing of the cash hoses at several points.
Putting a crimp in USAID is the first direct impact.
Pressuring the EU to cough up for their share of NATO and re-building Ukraine creates another budgetary pressure point.
The US contributes 30-35% of the UN budget. That will be withheld unless UNWRA is gutted.
And on it goes.
The rivers of cash into these shitholes is drying up.
And, if I am any judge of character (or lack thereof) this end up like 40 seagulls and one chip.
Over the weekend I spoke with someone who’s associated with the defence honours enquiry.
I knew they were looking into the merit of a few shiny bums gongs and whether others one should be stripped because of other yet to be released reports.
What I didn’t know was they uncovered just how systemised the shiny bums were in nominating each other for gongs.
I’ve gone googling and YouTubing and couldn’t really see much on that aspect of the enquiry.
There were a few LinkedIn posts by former defence chaps.
Anyway, surprised there wasn’t decent coverage on that aspect.
Considering the powers the enquiry had they should have gone though texts, whatsapp etc of all those who participated in the scam.

With the kind of bucks being thrown at bulk billing it will rise regardless of who the government is.
For a time.
Then it will then trend down again.
I wouldn’t mind so much if they extracted a few concessions out of the GP and Pharmacy Mafioso.
Want to take the pressure off GPs?
Firstly, do away with the ridiculous specialist referral visits when the specialist has determined they need to see you periodically for life (or an extended period).
Secondly, if they put you on a prescription for a certain condition, and the medication is controlling that condition, let the pharmacist just review it before dispensing. If blood pressure or cholesterol or whatever is in range, just dispense it without another GP visit.
Example. I take a medication called Creon which is an enzyme which aids digestion and I will have to take it for life. What is the point of getting a repeat out of a GP every 6-8 weeks?
Obviously.
That is why you take that one away.
The GPs union never says it is about income. It’s the poor patients we just can’t spend quality time with.
Well, looky here. I fixed it for you.
Zactly, I can get my cholesterol medication anywhere overseas in a number of countries no prescription in a drugstore. Just the stronger stuff they require prescriptions for. Same for the girls and contraceptive pill.
I could accept the first couple of scripts GP supervised as to minimise side effects but after…. Same as you, if in my case lipid test done every 12mnths to make sure everything’s ok.
My meds are prescribed for six months except the heavy duty painkillers which are two monthly but not on PBS otherwise it’d be one month. As if its suddenly gunna stop hurting.

No, as I indicated, you often summarily dismiss opinions, etc. that contradict your biases.

I didn’t say entirely, but you do a lot of ad-hom. I actually don’t.
Your signature move is to diminish a reference by using what you think is a funny name, and/ or to accuse them of being bots, etc. without addressing their point but you’re here trying to take me to task for ad homs?
If you’re going to school us on economic matters now, it would be a good idea to be definitionally correct. It’s significant.
Not at all : productive capacity” refers to the maximum potential output of an economy or system, considering all available resources and optimal efficiency, while “production capacity” simply indicates the maximum output a company or facility can produce with its current resources, which may not be fully optimized or utilize all potential efficiency gains; essentially, “productive capacity” represents the theoretical maximum output, while “production capacity” is the practical maximum output based on current operations.
China outperforms US in the latter and arguably in the former.
Explain to a novice like me, how much cement would your guys need in what would be a naval engagement with the US? Are the building cement ships now? To repeat, they import almost half their protein. They would fcking starve.
What do you think shipyards are made of? Airfields? Factories? Military infrastructure? Do you really imagine a conflict between these two great powers that involves at substatntial naval engagement to begin with would only be limited to the sea? What do you think is going to stop the trade of food if the Fifth and Seventh Fleet are substantially compromised? And what about any internal trade corridors? It would be nice if people egging the US on here actually understood the seriousness of this potential conflict.
You have to work with the materials you are presented with. Either that or don’t bother.
Agree but in the senate I will split my vote. I will vote Sharma one and then Libertarian then PHON. I will not vote for Bragg or Maria whatshername, both Liberal light green moderates!
We can’t afford another three years of Scabbie Vomitfield’s pal aka Slug from Grayndler and his motley Jew hating comrades.
Anyway, just had a delightful Vietnamese meal with two dear friends and drank some nice glasses of my favourite red wine (from South Australia of course)…………grenache!
Don’t be a grenache-launcher in the taxi on the way home.
But, yes, we can bitch about the SFL’s but it is still a binary choice in the lower house … Luigi/Bandit/Teals vs Spud.
The Senate affords more opportunity to express oneself.
Obviously the anti-Semitism issue is paramount for you (and it is the most critical societal issue of a generation, including the attendant immigration question).
But there are other issues of importance too, not least of which is putting some sort of a handbrake on the green scam. Who knows how emboldened Spud might become as it unwinds in the US?
The other is to sink the bullshit Big Bill projects in Afdanistan.
For those in a reflective mood Netflix has “Alone in Berlin” with Emma Thompson, starring wonderful art deco sets in Berlin and France, 1940 – 1943. Excellent attention to detail in clothing and household decoration.
Very enjoyable.

Who knows how emboldened Spud might become as it unwinds in the US?
If Dutton is successful and I hope he will be, he won’t have O’bumma sniping (re the Barrier Reef etc) at him as Abbott did
No, as I indicated, you often summarily dismiss opinions, etc. that contradict your biases.
No, I don’t summarily dismiss real arguments that I disagree with—only abuse. That’s unlike you, who more often simply resort to ad hominem attacks against the source. I’m not the only one who’s said this to you. Let me repeat: you actually presented a link to a piece from a newspaper reporting an opinion from inside a totalitarian state, and not only did you offer no disclaimer—you defended it!
And thus you will uncritically accept anti-Russian talking points produced by the Western MSM like its mother’s milk.
Untrue, and your points are as inconsistent as ever. You accused me earlier of being some sort of Trump lackey, even though I disagree with his position on some of the comments he’s made about Russia. Unfortunately, when it comes to Trump, one is buying the whole package. I agree with Trump on one position, though: Putin has ruined Russia. Do you? 🙂
Your signature move is to diminish a reference by using what you think is a funny name, and/ or to accuse them of being bots, etc. without addressing their point but you’re here trying to take me to task for ad homs?
Lol, you mean Deckchair Warlord, Pieces of Argon, and Tiny Serge? Of course they’re bots. Deckchair is a bot—an unpaid one—but he has a serious grudge against the US military because he wasn’t promoted. I recall how these galahs were denying the Ukrainian push back in 2023 until it was impossible to do so. Also, I’ve been realistic since the very beginning; I’ve stated several times that I had my doubts Ukraine could win this war outright. Russia hasn’t won either, measured against Putin’s original predictions that it would be over in a very short time. Ukraine has done a decent job of it, at great cost.
China outperforms US in the latter and arguably in the former.
China makes a lot of stuff. A great deal of it is subgrade. China’s workers’ productivity is almost 7 times below US workers, yet you ignore this. This view you have is awfully reminiscent of the old Soviet Union’s obsession with production to the maximum. For some reason, this impresses you.
What do you think shipyards are made of? Airfields? Factories? Military infrastructure?
You’re now shifting the argument to military infrastructure buildup during peacetime, not during a period of war. I’ll ask again: what’s the value of cement production at 22 times that of the counterpart during a period of hot war?
Do you really imagine a conflict between these two great powers that involves at substatntial naval engagement to begin with would only be limited to the sea?
True, the bulk of any engagement between the US and China would occur around the Cook Islands.
If the war were limited and didn’t escalate to nuking cities or similar actions, 95% of it would be naval-oriented. So, yes, I really do imagine that such a war, not involving the home base, would take place at sea.
What do you think is going to stop the trade of food if the Fifth and Seventh Fleet are substantially compromised?
What do you think would happen to the Chinese food supply if the Chinese Navy was severely compromised or if both navies were evenly matched? Would Brazilian freighters carrying soy etc. make it through unscathed?
And what about any internal trade corridors? It would be nice if people egging the US on here actually understood the seriousness of this potential conflict.
Oh, for the Lord’s sake, no one here has any capacity to egg on the US or even China into a conflict. It’s revealing to see your knee-jerk reaction here, assuming that the US would be the one instigating a conflict while your guy, Xin, would somehow be the victim.Obviously, there’s no possibility that China could start a war and even if they did start it, it would be America’s fault, right?
What word caused the sun bin? Tell me it’s not deckchair. Please.

If the Libs win, Dutton won’t do a thing to remove the really bad stuff introduced by the Liars. In fact, he agrees with a lot of it. In another three years’ time, we’ll be back with a large Liar majority, more keen than ever. No, it’s best to see the Libs lose and wait three years for the shit to hit the fan. Hopefully, there will be a new leader. Having an ex-cop as PM is a really bad idea.
One can actually make the argument that it was a good thing Trump lost (cheated) in 20 because of how he’s come back with actions that would’ve been unlikely if he scratched a win in 2020
You might only be a young ‘um, but some of us have a limited time left on this earth. We can’t keep waiting for another electoral cycle to get someone who reflects the heritage of the Liberal Party.
Libs should get a proper candidate – this one can’t see further than tax deductable lunches, 0% interest rates and bulk billing.

Sheik Ibrahim Dadoun says Mossad ‘manufactured’ Australia’s anti-Semitism crisisAlexi Demetriadi
1 hours ago
Listen to this article
7 min
A prominent Sydney sheik has claimed there was a real possibility Australia’s violent wave of anti-Semitism had been “manufactured” by Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad.
The claim by Sheik Ibrahim Dadoun – until recently a director at the country’s peak Muslim body – comes after ASIO director-general Mike Burgess warned about hostile foreign states operating in Australia and said he had “grave concerns” that anti-Semitism was a hatred that defied logic and was likely to get worse.
“When will the ASIO boss tell Australians if the Mossad had anything to do with the wave of manufactured anti-Semitic attacks conducted by known criminals,” the sheik told his supporters on the weekend.
“If it (the attacks) were Iran, it would have been plastered all over the news. If it was China we would have known about it.”
The sheik also claimed Mr Burgess believed the “hostile states” could be allies or friends to Australia who wanted to intervene in domestic politics and “affect social cohesion”.
“Given that Israel is seen as a ‘friend’ to Australia, it is highly likely, in fact plausible, and a real possibility that Mossad manufactured (the) wave of anti-Semitic attacks,” Sheik Dadoun said.
Although far-left pro-Palestine activists and radical fringe preachers have told their social media followers Australia’s anti-Semitic attacks were co-ordinated by Israel, it is the first time a relatively mainstream Muslim leader has made that claim.
Given what some of our imams are on the record as having said, the theory that it’s the evil jooz causing antisemitism is rather otiose.

Re the coming erection.
I disagree it’s a binary choice in the lower house. We need to attend a voting booth, get our names crossed off, accept the ballot paper/s, and then place said ballot paper/s in the correct ballot box/es. That’s it. We don’t OWE any person or party our vote.
For those who claim that’s a waste of a vote, why would you give (however much a vote is worth now, in financial terms) to a political party you are only voting for because they are the best of the worst? That to me, is a waste of a vote, and a waste of taxpayer money. What have they done to deserve that money?
How will the LNP change if no-one demands change?
How many of the LNP stood up for those of us who chose not be jabbed during the covidiocy?
How many have apologised for their behaviour and the enormous damage they’ve done to our society?
Yeah, but nah.
I’m not into self-harm.
I’m also not into complimenting someone for the warmth of the saliva they’ve spat in my face.
No political party which existed during the covidiocy will gain my vote while I remain breathing. I deserve better. WE ALL deserve better.
But we’re not going to receive ‘better’ until we demand it.
Change only happens when a pattern is broken.
I won’t be an enabler to those getting their kicks out of destroying this country.
This quiet nobody will simply withdraw from society until I can find a positive way of creating change.
None of the emperors have any clothes, but the trained seals continue applauding.
The problem with this circus is that the public still keeps buying tickets.
Barry, good things come to those who patiently wait. Hopefully, you have more than 3 years left so you can hang around to experience a renaissance.;-) Dutton will screw things up and cause a landslide in 3 years time.
Nothing can ever be achieved without the right to speak freely as opposed to the state threatening people with incarceration.
Mellon head offered praise to the eSafety Commissioner bint.
Dutton supported the Liars legislation restricting speech. This will eventually be debauched by the Left and used against the Right.
Not once has Dutton spoken about the abusive labor laws that make us even more restrictive than Southern Europe. In fact, the CFMEU makes the old New York mafia families that once controlled construction appear tame.
Not once has Dutton spoken about the absurdity of being the 2nd or 3rd largest gas exporter in the world while domestically we’re running on close to empty and have very high energy costs.
No argument here.
However, I think the Trump effect may have more of a say than the old, discredited apologetic, conservative way of times past.

The China war ships off our coast – has Paul Keating commented on this.
What have Albo and Wong said publicly about this.
Every Chinese and Maoist have repeated China has never invaded another county or caused a war with other countries – except for the war with Vietnam in the 70s who got rid of a foreign counties governement – Cambodia – it was Vietnams fault.
The charade is over. And unless Zelensky undergoes a complete and immediate transformation, the war will end without him. One way or another, it is coming to a close. The show is over.

the steel mill in Whyalla was a failure before Gupta. The previous owners wanted to re structure but the redundancies would have bankrupted the Entire group – 2 other profitable businesses.
have you seen the redundancy payouts – $11k plus $6k per completed yr of service.
what business can afford this. If I to pay this to my employee I would have to take a loan out – sell my home.
have a look at th3 condition of the steel mill, nothing has changed since it was built in the 1960s – just like Torrens Island power station.

Oh dear. My granddaughters are going to have so much fun with this.
Fair enough, after all everything that is annoying for a woman starts with men : Menopause, Menstruate…
Manual transmission cars…
As with many ‘men ..’ words the derivation is from something other than man, an adult male. It is usually Latin, such as manus, meaning ‘hand’, as in manual labour, or in the case of menopause, the ‘men’ part comes from the Latin for menses referring a ‘month’ and the pause part is Greek in origin, meaning cessation. As in menstruation, the men reference alludes to a woman’s monthly period.
Such a lot of nonsense is being allowed into our culture and language under this ridiculous ‘gender’ banner.

Bolta quoted the 57% figure in his diatribe against Trump the other night.
I did wonder about the disparity.
But then again, he would, wouldn’t he? Bolt should be replace by James Macpherson.

The CDC has killed a campaign promoting seasonal flu shots.
The agency has also canceled a major conference with so-called virus experts.
The changes come a week after RFK Jr was sworn in as HHS Secretary.

What’s the real size of China’s economy?
Yeah, go buy a Mercedes or Webber barbecue with PPP. Let us know how you do.
The article is not even principally interest in PPP. It’s about the material economy.
Self awareness = zero.
Did the downtickers actually read the column? I have my doubts. A reflexive denial isn’t a rational thought process.

Looks like Labor will have to get liberal support to pass bills, then. Might be a workable situation.

He’s not the brightest is Albo.
Rogan listeners were often non-voters so Trump was able to persuade extra votes.
Zero Liberal voters listen to that man-hating, baby murdering, terrorist lover. Everybody who does already votes for the man-hating, baby murdering, terrorist loving parties.
Noncompulsory voting changes everything.
Yup!
because we have compulsory voting the most a party has to do is convince voters they are preferable to the other side – ‘not as bad’ is sufficient.
I thought it was a mirror image of Kamala’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
Hopefully equally destructive to both.
Oh my sides!
I hadn’t thought of that.

Exactly whose “concerns” and whose business is it outside of Ukrainians themselves if he is?
The biggest question this morning, is Erin Moylan really on Elon’s radar?
How did I miss this?
I think there is a stench here that wont go away.
Someone needs to refer it to the NACC. That’s if they’ll do anything about it, they still haven’t acted on the Brittany payment.
A lot of our oversight type mechanisms are infested with activist woke leftards. Havens for Marxists. Just like our Judiciary. The spineless LNP will never initiate or even attempt real change for fear they become targets for retribution when they inevitably fk up and lose power. The electorate are just doormats.
Zactly.
RD,didn’t Beattie have a woman put in prison for whistleblowing against him?
The other classic is thinking Joh introduced gerrymander of rural electorates. He just kept it even after mechanisation meant the labourers left and turned rural electorates into non ALP electorates
Build wind turbines in lefty electorates and threaten marginal electorates of the same punitive measures if they vote wrong.
Voila! The right never lose an election again.
On it apparently. It will be the grand opening.

Here in Australia I am sick of telling rich ‘conservatives’ that to win politically they have to either have equal footing in the msm or control it. Vain idiots like Palmer do not understand this and I don’t know what Gina is doing.
If I recall correctly, there were at least two in Victoria.
And both would have been counted as Covid deaths in the statistics.
That’s why they are called presstitutes. I remember the small business woman who set herself on fire at Altona. It still pains me to think about it.

Speaking of screeching harridans..
I saw where someone said Palestinians are nice guys because, he averred, they don’t throw gays off roofs; Syrians do.

PIERS AKERMAN
23 Feb 2025
Sorry too many have rose coloured glasses about Minns. Ackerman is no different in this regard.
Minns is an empty suit, mouths soothing but hollow words. He has no power to or intention to follow through. Actions again have proved that.
I believe not one Cat here would disagree with you.
Anal doesn’t want to ‘repair the social compact’.
His aim is to create a nation of tribes that he can play against each other.
That’s how practical Marxism works.
He doesn’t need to create it. It’s already here.

It’s meant to insult and cotton flags are a European thing.
Yup and never forget it was Morrison that paid the $20m extortion for the design.
It’s cultural appropriation.
I just regard the Australian Aboriginal flag with contempt.
Could we get someone to produce toilet rolls with a small abo flag on each sheet?
That’s probably a jailable offence now. And no, I’m not jokeing.
Whatever his failings, and who hasn’t got those, Pope Francis dedicated his life to serving God and His children. He stands firm against the worst of modern evils, abortion, euthanasia, gender ideology and the Church marches on, as she always has, under good popes, indifferent popes and bad pope’s.
God bless him.
What is the birth rate in Vatican City?
And the Pope is not nearly as tough on the LGBTQI abomination as he should be. Especially in the Vatican.
Frankie is a Marxist posing as a theologian. A despicable person
He is a Liberation theologian.
When Elon said he’d sponsor a 60 Minutes competitor on X called 69 Minutes, it didn’t take long for someone to take him up on the offer.
Yes it’s being hosted by Australian cutie pie Erin Molan.
Is it true that Molan publicly lambasted the free-choicers during the covidiocy, and if so, has she apologised? If not … pffftt. Skin deep.
Are you misgendering my turkey baster?
I think Peter is underestimating Elbow & Pong’s achievements in this space.
They did get our rock lobsters back onto Chinese plates.
[sarc]
After reading this and all that it implies, I can’t think of a worse time for Dutton to be mouthing off about being against Trump’s plans for restoration of peace in Europe. Any sensible Australian conservative leader should be in lock step with the US, our most important and only ally of any note.
How stupid must we look to China considering to send troops to Ukraine when the Chinese military are taking the piss right on our doorstep?
Seconded.
They want the lobsters but without the middleman.

“Small PSA: I will block – without my usual mercy to the lost etc – to anyone who is rude or derogatory to Pope Francis in this time. This Pope never sought the Petrine throne & had his predecessor had the fortitude of his successor, would have been spared its crushing burdens.”

It’s about religion, Arky.
It doesn’t have to be logical or free of hypocrisy.

I absolutely refuse to indulge in debate about Pope Francis’ fitness for paradise.
That is for the One who sees into all hearts.
Better to search out your own. That’s your responsibility, and yours alone.
Curious: is this your policy for everyone, or only wrt popes?
Everyone, except me of course. It would be presumptuous for me to try to measure someone else’s faith with my own ill informed yardstick.
We are told we will know the believer by their works. And that for those with higher authority, more will be expected. That’s as far as I’m prepared to go.
I’d rather leave judgement to the Almighty. I have a horrid feeling I might get it all very wrong. And I have a sneaky suspicion that heaven will be full of surprises, both those who are there and those who are missing.
How about the Hamas leadership?
Care to speculate on their ultimate destination?
If I didn’t have faith that those types would suffer for their actions, there would be little point in believing at all.
I’ll happily take my judgement, as long as they get theirs.
Oh, I see. I thought you were talking about people who profess to be Christians.
Romans 10:9-10
That sort of edges out Hamas I think.
Popes do set a high bar for themselves in that regard.
Happily, salvation is by grace through faith, not works.
Even when the reformers labelled the papacy as antichrist because of its official condemnation of the gospel, they maintained that, by a felicitous inconsistency, an individual pope might still enter heaven if he placed all his hope for salvation on Jesus.
Shouldn’t a persons works improve as their faith increases?
And if so, what can we assume about their faith if their works suck?
That they need encouragement.
Their love certainly will.
I always struggled with that and probably one of the reasons I’m a agnostic.
Be thankful salvation isn’t through works or nobody would be saved!
@Steph93065

“Harmless as an enemy, treacherous as a friend.”
I’ve often mentioned that here.
But the reality is we aren’t about to reassess the US alliance and build an independent defence capability, which I’ve argued for, any time soon.
So we’ll sleepwalk into another Ukraine.
I should think that in our region the stakes for us are rather higher.
China this week to Australia: “Who’s your Daddy?”
If Dutton does win government he needs to pull Defence into line. There was some evidence that he knew this during his time as minister.
On the contrary, I gave a detailed response yesterday.
The comment at 11.33am? Come on now.
I don’t take much notice of opinions from either side.

Still, I’d be interested for you to explain how the above contradicts what I’ve previously said re Ukraine.
Go back to yesterday’s page.
Around midday.

How many more warnings do we need to get our shit together?
And we might ask ourselves: “Who decided to place all the high tech silicon chip foundries in an island less than 200 km from mainland China, like an open invitation”?
Commercial decisions undertaken in peace time don’t always makes sense strategically.
It was a Chinese-American engineer, iirc.

How China Killed Hong Kong’s Economy
MULTICULTURALISM Has FAILED – Britain Is SLEEPWALKING Into DISASTER
Matt Goodwin
Not just in Britain, multiculturalism has failed everywhere it has been tried. It only leads to struggle for supremacy among various cultures. For peace, prosperity and national well-being you must have integration and assimilation.
Wow Dutton isn’t going to win if he allows the ALP & media dictate the election campaign narrative:
https://www.news.com.au/national/federal-election/pm-tipped-to-fire-starters-gun-on-election/news-story/a8bb674034ab5721618f58f4356e7ade
Pledged to match medicare changes by the ALP & more.
I note neither is saying how they’ll pay for it.
The Libas have certainly come a long way since Tony Abbott suggested $7 co-payments.
sarc!
Chuckle, you certainly have a way with words Doc.

I haven’t reversed anything. You said the piece wasn’t about PPP. It was, but mostly about how PPP doesn’t do China justice. According to the piece It doesn’t go far enough!

I’m so glad to be retired!
Hi Vagabond
could you please spell it out for me why Medicare is a bad system.
i understand the comment people expect free healthcare, I remember going to network meetings were people big note themselves and then complain they were slipped a $50 gap fee by their gp.
Come now, that doesn’t make sense of your first comment which was a throwaway one about PPP.
And you of course accept anything and everything the Western MSM say that contradicts your bias? Give me a break.
When Chinese shipbuilding capacity was compared to the US previously you deflected by saying that the US can of course call upon its allies to compensate for its industrial inadequacies. At some point, you are just going to have to acknowledge that ignoring this undermines any comparison of these two economies.
The first 20mins of the All In podcast has the founders of Stripe (the Collison brothers) talking about their business with a focus on stablecoins.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxP55dZjqZs
If I ever get the urge to bait lefties – unlikely, I know – I think I might start using terms like “emissary to the Court of Donald II” or “The Sun King”.
I think this exchange happened late last year on The View but it’s hysterical…more please..

Heaviness and Hope in China (20 Feb)
Thanks, Bruce. There are many issues taking space in headlines. Persecution of Christians is so commonplace and systemic it occupies a tiny column, if any at all.
The Wukkas Paradise is running out of other peoples money yet again and the Parasite Communists are grabbing every bit of sustenance before the people die and take it with them.
That was very interesting, Bruce.

Interesting, indeed.
It’s all about the suspension of disbelief.
For some (Churchill buffs) that scene might have been a deal breaker…a metaphor too far. 😀
It was a way, in artistic form, to link Churchill’s pugilistic approach with the will of the British people.
The movie depicts him, in no uncertain form, as a right royal @rsehole. The one they needed.
I can’t, for a moment, entertain a contemporary one. Or perhaps I can.
Also, if we’re going to discuss “conversations that never happened” where’s the critique of the phone call with FDR?
The bad news, Crossie, is that you’ll be paying for it (and your children and their children and their children).
Either through cuts to other services or higher taxes or borrowings that’ll have to be repaid by subsequent generations or all three.
So much for the Liberals being the party of reform.
Angus Taylor will be wondering what other surprises Dutton has in store for him.
Yes, much harder.
Which disappoints me greatly because Taylor has been on point lately.
My fear was always that a Dutton beholden to the wets would sabotage him.
What is Dutton implying?
Anything you can spend I can spend higher?
This is why I despair over the Liberal Party.
Just like Labor they’ll tax the productive classes – the only ones who pay net tax – into oblivion.
The country deserves better.
Worked for Crisafulli
What I don’t do is summarily dismiss something just because it comes from Western mainstream media. This is what you do. However, you accept statistics and opinions based on those statistics from a totalitarian state. What I don’t do is steer toward propaganda swill if I can help it, yet you seem to embrace and defend it.
Sure
It’s not false at all. You’ve done it to me and others here without even providing a shred of a counter argument. Rubbishing the source appears enough for you. Again, yet here you are linking a propaganda publication.
Skeptical or downright unbelieving? You know the difference, obviously. Yet you have no claim to anything to provide evidence to the contrary.
You mean production capacity. Productive capacity isn’t the same thing.
Methinks Dutton is Abbott Take Two. It makes me feel so depressed.
If it wasn’t for the rampant Jew hatred on our streets I’d ask….’what’s the point of voting Liberal?’
One thing is for sure, Dutton’s NO Trump.
He has neither the brains nor the courage. But nobody in public life does.
You are not alone Cassie. Have been very disappointed too.
You have to work with the materials you are presented with.
Either that or don’t bother.
WA government says damage to 249 heritage sites warrants $5m-$10m in compensationBrad Thompson

Was the mythical rainbow serpent – the Wagyl – asked to give evidence?
It was asked, but threw a hissy fit.

Bleeding from the eyeballs stuff.
I hereby christen the 2025 federal election campaign the Whyalla Wipeout.
The trend is your friend. Unless you’re Albo. Hard to see any good news for the Liars going forward.
I have always said the idea that the Albo Liars slide into minority government was pure j’ismist BS.
Seeing Wallet Wizard on the gogglebox tonight with that stupid schoolboy grin made me think he’s already eyeing off leader of the opposition job.

Who would you list as the exceptions?
Yep, R-G-R deadwood will be cleared out. Albo. kd wrong, Plibbers, Burqa, Dreyfus. It will be a conga line of failure and ineptitude.

Hamilton might be a multi-multi millionaire driver and part time amateur victim, but even so he deserved to win and Max is a prick.

Holy shit ,Monique Ryan apparently spent $2,2 million to win Kooyong. This time she has already spent well over $100k.Amelia Hamer has spent $9k
And one might ask where all that money is coming from.
Climate200 is clearly a money laundering conduit for renewables grifters.
I wonder if we might find USAID money made it’s way here.
Earlier, some might have come from USAID, but that should have dried up by now.
I saw Hamer with Steve Price on Friday night, dribbling about globule worming and net zero. What hope do we have. She spouts the same drivel as the greens.
I was surprised she didn’t mention world peace.
Kamala Harris spend around $US1 billion in the month before November 5 2024. Just saying.
I think she blew through her entire campaign fund and then some which had to be borrowed.
I had to laugh at some Democrat supporters who attacked Trump over the (significantly smaller) amount of money he spent on his campaign.
And that’s just on billboards!
Has anyone got details of the Fewfacts polling?

It looks like Trump cut off the serpent’s wallet.

Libs 1.52 to form government.
Labor 2.40.
That’s Ladbrokes.
I was going to ask if the bet was majority government.
But the betting guys aren’t stupid.
They will have assessed – correctly – that the Teals are a Liars/Greens astroturfing operation, so the $1.52 is for the outright win by Spud.
What is the point of getting a repeat out of a GP every 6-8 weeks?
Annuity income..for the GP.
And thus you will uncritically accept anti-Russian talking points produced by the Western MSM like its mother’s milk.
Your signature move is to diminish a reference by using what you think is a funny name, and/ or to accuse them of being bots, etc. without addressing their point but you’re here trying to take me to task for ad homs?
Not at all :
productive capacity” refers to the maximum potential output of an economy or system, considering all available resources and optimal efficiency, while “production capacity” simply indicates the maximum output a company or facility can produce with its current resources, which may not be fully optimized or utilize all potential efficiency gains; essentially, “productive capacity” represents the theoretical maximum output, while “production capacity” is the practical maximum output based on current operations.
China outperforms US in the latter and arguably in the former.
… I want the North Koreans I was promised

Untrue, and your points are as inconsistent as ever. You accused me earlier of being some sort of Trump lackey, even though I disagree with his position on some of the comments he’s made about Russia. Unfortunately, when it comes to Trump, one is buying the whole package. I agree with Trump on one position, though: Putin has ruined Russia. Do you? 🙂
China makes a lot of stuff. A great deal of it is subgrade. China’s workers’ productivity is almost 7 times below US workers, yet you ignore this. This view you have is awfully reminiscent of the old Soviet Union’s obsession with production to the maximum. For some reason, this impresses you.
You’re now shifting the argument to military infrastructure buildup during peacetime, not during a period of war. I’ll ask again: what’s the value of cement production at 22 times that of the counterpart during a period of hot war?
True, the bulk of any engagement between the US and China would occur around the Cook Islands.
If the war were limited and didn’t escalate to nuking cities or similar actions, 95% of it would be naval-oriented. So, yes, I really do imagine that such a war, not involving the home base, would take place at sea.
What do you think would happen to the Chinese food supply if the Chinese Navy was severely compromised or if both navies were evenly matched? Would Brazilian freighters carrying soy etc. make it through unscathed?
Oh, for the Lord’s sake, no one here has any capacity to egg on the US or even China into a conflict. It’s revealing to see your knee-jerk reaction here, assuming that the US would be the one instigating a conflict while your guy, Xin, would somehow be the victim.Obviously, there’s no possibility that China could start a war and even if they did start it, it would be America’s fault, right?
I’ll reply to this in the new OT.
Cops at least have a head start in understanding the basic rottenness of human nature.

Sheik Ibrahim Dadoun says Mossad ‘manufactured’ Australia’s anti-Semitism crisisAlexi Demetriadi

The evil Jooos are everywhere…

Barry, good things come to those who patiently wait. Hopefully, you have more than 3 years left so you can hang around to experience a renaissance.;-) Dutton will screw things up and cause a landslide in 3 years time.
Dutton’s support for the Paris accord and Net Zero is disastrous policy for the country IMO.
I suspect the wankers in his party have too much say.
Yep.
So, I’m watching Evita in one room.
Son on instagram other side of the house.
He scrolls down and “Don’t Cry for me Argentina comes in.” ?
Why can I see JC post that is yet to be “approved”?
You are JC.
Oh hang on, so am I it seems.
Is there anyone who is not JC in here? Matrix?
oh, I’m deffo JC too !
Can’t help himself.
Chuckle!
Bespoke , it’s a reply to Dover’s comment. I can’t figure out what word is banned, so I’ll leave it and wait for the parole officer .
But of course if you claim the land is yours in the first place you aren’t “invading” it, right China?
As in their little border war with the USSR that came very close to going nuclear in 1969.
See ‘Zhenbao Island’ or ‘Tielieketi’.

the steel mill in Whyalla was a failure before Gupta.
Where does the money go – to wages.
then try and get people there to work – real work in a real industry.
