SCOTUS ruled that 2bill of USAID money must be paid “for work or services already provided”.
5-4 ruling with Roberts and ACB the key votes.
ACB further increases the likelihood of being the next Chief Justice as she’s an 100% establishment justice.
The key logistical aspect of this is, contractors will now have to prove they provided the work or services they allegedly have.
I look forward to some of these contractors providing that evidence.
If people think that this outcome wasn’t already planned for by this administration, they are still thinking it’s March 2017, not March 2025.
Thanks for explaining this. I would never have got there on my own. To whom do they provide proof of expenditure/ purpose? To the Court or administration?
The Federalist ecosystem says there is a long standing process where people/organisations pursue the government via a claims court.
Nothing to do with SCOTUS (SCOTUS has zero enforcement capabilities).

Cyclone Alfred still looks a squib at the moment.
What’s it all about Alfie?
Albo must be wishing they’d actually gone with Anthony as the name. It hasn’t done much and is a let down (so far).
Any damage it does will be seen near the end of it’s term.
But then it’ll just disappear.
Yes, its been fun to watch the breathless ‘Sunrise’ crisis danger emergency reporter task force’ standing beachside trying to make a bit of blowing foam interesting for the last 2 days.
Added to this proviso:
Bern, I think that’s a very reasonable decision by the court. Another point is that they’d better not lie, because if they get caught out, they’re heading to the clink.

They would have to show disbursements to third parties prior to the EO.
I suspect vast swathes of it was parked in bank accounts as a war chest to fund campaigns and lawfare against Orange Hitler in the future.
That will be clawed back.
At some stage in the future, SCOTUS will have to rule on what a service is.
Ie, is funding a NGO (lol) with a bill of taxpayer money a service even if the NGO was only set up a month before and was yet to do anything.
When did the USAID litigation start?
That would be a good indicator of how long it takes to get to SCOTUS.
Wow Alfred still looking very ragged. Models are all over the shop, one of the best HAFS-A which a US hurricane model has it crossing round Cape Byron then wandering over land northwards before washing out NW of Brisbane. This morning CMISS run has her weakening even further on approach to coast. Looking at 40kn (75km/h) winds now. Haven’t even looked at the BOM yet. Yuk what a mess.
As for the 2 main holdbacks for the storm. Wind shear is a good as it will get and increasing again, sea temps should be broderline again but she don’t seem to be firing. Still what’s known as a hybrid system.
Seeing some pics of the Gold Coast big problem is flooding. Tides combined with the storm surge, reckon there would be a few in those low level estates with all the waterways or beachfronts with their freckles twitching atm.
GC will be particularly affected if BNE crossing is still on cards, the SW quadrants are where all the pressure gradients converge as it crosses land. This area is usually where the strongest of weather is for Queensland east coast cyclones. Good example of this affect is Cyclone Yasi, to the north Cairns at about 100km was largely unaffected by the crossing where as Townsville 200km to south was smashed by high end Cat 2 winds. Might be better if the Byron crossing comes off.
Gold Coast goes back to being a swamp?
I just wish Alfred would make up his plurry mind! We are in an area that is mooted as a crossing point and the waiting is a pain.lol

It does that by all but destroying our formerly affordable and reliable energy system. If the idiots won’t allow nuclear, just build new coal or refurbish the plants where they are, often with coal nearby.
I believe we have the big transmission plan under extreme pressure. We’ve blocked 150km of access for the VNI West through western Vic. They’re going to have to use courts and police to get access and they don’t have the ticker. Farmers tend to be a stroppy bunch.
You Ripper!
Also a big map will be released soon where farmers have said they won’t be part of any declared renewable energy zones.
All blocked out with the paddocks highlighted. It will put the skids under the big push by renewable parasites to claim farmers want their crap.

Even relatively sensible newspapers like the Oz are going nuts for the cyclone:
It wasn’t just the sporadic rainfall, violent then feathery then violent again, but the peculiar pearl light that illuminated the skies above the beaches from Brunswick Heads and Byron Bay to Lennox Head and Ballina, and the hinterland towns of Mullumbimby, Bangalow and Lismore.
If you’ve ever experienced that light before you remember it. It’s cyclone light. An almost beatific glow that comes before a monster, in this instance Cyclone Alfred. It was there in Brisbane in early 1974 (Wanda), if you’re old enough to remember. And it was back again on Wednesday, coddling southeast Queensland and the Northern Rivers. Many were oblivious to it as a portent of danger. Others knew exactly what it meant.
It’s the sort of rare and unusual light that gives you the sense that everything is holding its breath.
By midday Alfred was flexing its muscles….
Could have been better. Could have started: “It was a dark and stormy night…”
Top Ender, newspapers love the weather: it’s the front page go-to when there’s nothing else happening. However, the whole population has eyes and ears, which inhibits the media’s inclination to lie about it — hence all the flowery poesy.
What a rip-off.

The Biden regime funneled nearly $20 billion dollars into newly founded environmental groups, according to the New York Post.
Kamala Harris handed over a check for nearly $7 billion to a group called Climate United Fund.
The group does not appear in the IRS’s charities database, and has no federal filings.
The non-profit fund had only been incorporated five months before the check was handed over.
The cash for the charity came from a huge $370 billion climate slush fund of taxpayer money overseen by Clinton political consultant John Podesta.

Zelensky has changed his mind again and announced that he would not negotiate with Russia.
Zelensky does not want to discuss anything with Russians and make any concessions. He wants to continue the war.
How can he continue with the war if Trump has withdrawn money, weapons and intelligence support? Even Starmer admitted that Europeans can support him but with American material backing. Zelensky has entered into the FAFO waters in a major way.
As Dover said last night there are two sides in this war. Z can (if he wants) try to negotiate for an armistice, but the signs are Russia won’t agree to anything short of unconditional surrender.

Albo’s visit to Qld going down like the Hindenburg:
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has arrived in Brisbane. Gee, I feel so much better now, don’t you?
Never mind that Queensland has run out of sandbags, supermarket shelves are stripped bare, power banks are hotter than toilet paper, and our homes are bracing for damage.
Forget that our pets are distressed, our schools are set to close and we’re being warned to stay inside and off the roads from tomorrow.
Despite Tropical Cyclone Alfred barrelling towards us, Albo is here. Relax.
Politicians are known for grandstanding during natural disasters – former PM Scott Morrison being a famous exception when he holidayed in Hawaii during the 2019 bushfires – but Mr Albanese’s presence in Queensland right now is a hindrance.
Last night he met with Premier David Crisafulli and he is holding several meetings today – with the very people charged with keeping our state safe and doing everything they can to minimise the impacts of Alfred.
This morning he visited the State Disaster Coordination Centre, accompanied by Federal Sports Minister Anika Wells.
We need the people who know what they’re doing to focus on doing it – and not be dragged away to entertain politicians.
As our state braces for the worst, Mr Albanese’s visit amounts to a shameless grab for votes ahead of the looming federal election Labor looks set to lose.

It seems to me that there should be a constraint on transfer of huge chunks of money. Break all such payments up, such that there is time for objective scrutiny and a greater chance of discovery if the wrong thing is being done. No government department or NGO needs to send $ billions on one day to anyone at all. Drip feed the dollars to Aid agencies, make them show what has been done before the next payment tranche is released.
I’d prefer the OPM tap was turned off for good. If the US government has racked up trillions of dollars in debt it is no position to be disbursing funds to anyone or anything not directly involved in the delivering the central functions of government (all two or three of them).

There’s different additives from what I recall, but they’re basically the same.
It’s petrol. Runs on unleaded. I bought a $50 dual fuel carby which I’ll install so it can also run on the barby gas bottles.
Good plan! I put the same on my 3300 watt honda generator and its fine once started. It is, however, a bitch to start on gas unless you ‘throttle’ the gas bottle down to near zero to get it started initially.
I put the same fuel in my Patrol as I do in the genset.

Standard Trump negotiation tactic. That’s the stick. Here’s the carrot:
NSA Waltz: Once Russia Talks Set, Ukraine Aid to Resume (Newsmax mainpage headline, 5 Mar)
He’s developed a fine diplomatic tactic – which is to scare the socks off his victim, then offer an out that they can live with.
As I said a bit upthread I don’t think Russia will agree to any peace deal, since Putin sent Medvedev out yesterday to effectively say that. But Trump wants peace talks to happen, and he is getting both sides around a table to at least talk. Very unlikely a peace deal can be worked out but Trump will have done to his best ability what he promised.
You get to use a tactic once. Everyone now knows this one. It’s no longer effective.
Trump has used this tactic effectively so far on Panama, Ukraine, Canada, Mexico, France, Denmark and is currently working on Greenland. Fun to watch them fold like cheap seats.

Former Transport Minister Jo Haylen only reimbursed taxpayers for 10 hours’ worth of a private car and driver she used for a boozy lunch in the Hunter Valley – despite her driver logging an almost 13-hour shift.
Premier Chris Minns’ department has now been accused of giving Ms Haylen a “heavily discounted bill” to cover the ill-fated trip which ran her ministerial career off the road.
The Daily Telegraph can now reveal fresh details about Ms Haylen’s use of a ministerial car and driver on the Australia Day long weekend, contained in documents obtained under freedom of information laws.
Premier’s Department emails reveal an official asked for Ms Haylen to be invoiced a total of $750 for the 13-hour, 446km driving shift.
That is despite the Saturday cost of a car and driver being calculated at $75 per hour.
The email was sent at 8.22am on February 3, the day after The Sunday Telegraph revealed the trip, and the day after Ms Haylen declared she’d repay the cost “in full”.
“The Premier’s Department has informed me that the cost is $750, and as soon as I receive an invoice from the Premier’s Department I will pay that in full,” Ms Haylen said on February 2.
The documents reveal that drivers are paid $34.94 per hour, while vehicle expenses are charged at $20 per hour.
Drivers receive time-and-a-half on Saturdays, and double time on Sundays and public holidays.
On Saturdays, a car and driver costs $75 per hour, and on Sundays it costs $95 per hour.
Ms Haylen’s chauffeur drove from Rockdale to take her and her friends to Brokenwood winery in the Hunter Valley on January 25, with the group picked up from Ms Haylen’s Caves Beach holiday house.
Cabinet minister Rose Jackson was also in the car; the outing was organised as a surprise to celebrate Ms Jackson’s 40th birthday.
Driver logs obtained by The Sunday Telegraph revealed the driver started work at 8am and finished at 8.50pm.
Despite the log book entry, a Premier’s Department spokesman has previously told The Daily Telegraph that the hours the driver worked “did not exceed 12 hours.” No documents have yet been released showing how the $750 cost was calculated.
The Premier’s Department previously said that Ms Haylen’s driver took “mandatory breaks” during the 13-hour shift.
On Tuesday, a spokesman said drivers were required to take breaks “after every five hours of continuous work”. They are also eligible for unpaid meal breaks.
Asked about the calculations, Liberal Treasury spokesman Damien Tudehope accused the government of maintaining a shroud of secrecy over the trip.
“So much of the Haylen winery trip is still a mystery, including how the former minister came to pay back $750,” he said.
“The Premier needs to explain why his department issued a heavily discounted bill to the former Minister for Transport to cover her birthday surprise for minister Jackson,” he said.

Up from 10% to 15%
Could be. Uh-rah!
Straight out of the Silly McMenace physics handbook.
Er… I don’t mean to be contrarian, however filling the tub (& lotsa other) is a standard cyclone prep measure.
That said, not sure why Brisbane would need to fill the water barrel, all they’re going to get is a good hard 25 inches of rain in 48 hrs.
I’ve been watching the BOM predicting winds of 60 kh/h + with gusts up to 90 since yesterday. Yet their own readings are about 6-9 kmh.
Checking on Windy.com/ Accuweather and Weatherzone gives a far more benign (and so far) accurate picture of what is happening in Brisbane. Their predictions for early Friday morning as Alf hits Brisbane when the BOM has predictions of 100+ winds is for around 50 kmh.
Have the BOM’s assumptions been massaged or are the commercial weather sites far too low?
It reminds me of covid…offices, schools and uni’s shut but shops, deliveries and people that need to earn money are still open.
Had a look at Windy this morning myself. Their projection is Anthony oops Alfred will arrive at Brissie on Saturday then expire. Bigly rainfall though.
Plenty of rain to come but I’m more windy after a curry.
Yesterday someone noticed, I think RokDok, that it was moving north. Looking on BoM it showed it moving north, yet they still had it going back through Brisbane. Lots of could, might and maybe to go round. Plenty of panic but little truth. Never let a potential disaster go to waste.
Weatherzone has been more sensationalist than the BOM.
Their coverage then gets a run in the msm.
It’s meandered more than they thought off the coast. Done loop de loops actually. Looked at the upper level steering this morning.
Ridging to the south we know about tying to push it to the coast but an upper high has stood up to the north of it in Coral Sea trying to push it east.
Whichever wins will seal the direction it takes. Longer it is in cool waters too more it will degrade too.
Coastal GC isn’t out of the woods yet. I suspect Brisbane itself will be protected largely from it by Morton and Stradbroke Is and probably wonder what all the fuss was about.
I’m not sure about ”peculiar pearl light”, but here in Brisbane it’s presently pleasant and intermittently cloudless with a light breeze.
Which is a DisasterPorn disaster for disgusting political tourists like Albanese and ‘Save the Furniture’ Chalmers: no hi-viz opportunities with shaken State and local hoc politicians in the background, no sound grabs of ‘thank’ee, sir, and Gor’ bless’ grateful voters being aided, no signs of destruction that ‘we will always be here to help you with’. The odious bastards will have to far cough and come back next week for their election photo-ops.
But TC Albert hasn’t somehow disappeared. The Gold Coast has been smashed with rain and strong winds for the past couple of days and the storm – whether as a TC or a rain depression – is most likely going to produce widespread damage in SEQ on Friday/Saturday.
Out in the real world it’s been a mixture of responses. The prudent getting their homes and businesses ready, helping neighbours, and where possible planning for the cleanup. For me it’s been a strangely uplifting experience.
Not a particular fan of Chrisafulli, but he and the local authorities seem to be doing a decent job of preparation (sandbag shortages notwithstanding) and good communication with small business and community groups.
On the other end of the spectrum, impending inconvenience brings out the worst of shite behaviours in uncomfortably many people. Not normally vindictive, I hope that the stupid, stupid people pushing trolleys filled with bread and milk last Monday will shortly own 12 bags of mould and 18 litres of ad hoc yoghurt. As for the low-trusters walking away with commercial quantities of toilet paper, batteries etc…
It has occurred to me over the past few days that, on average, we have become a soft and helpless people in a harsh world. Goodness knows how Australia will face rolling blackouts and the inconvenience that will go with that.
Rant over.
Great rant!
I thought that too.
Measured, calm and clear communication remarkably free of hysteria.
And no Sou’wester and waders cosplay either.
Early days.
Krisafooli was careful to say that a cyclone of this nature was “not unprecedented”, which is correct. He didn’t need to use the “unprecedented” word. Subconsciously, the innately fearful will only read that word.
He could just have said “It’s happened before, and it’ll happen again. Let’s get prepared.”
But the nature of even the politicians of the right is to carefully use words to terrify people, notwithstanding being used literally in the negative.
Do Faustus:
And not one of the items they hoard will have been on special.
I remember the lines of date roll thieves getting into fights over the stuff.
We had a small bus of Asians with an enclosed dual wheel trailer during that time here in Barcy. They will have driven 1000Km from Brisbane (at a guess) with about eight people in the bus, and were hitting every supermarket with each person getting their limit.
Such a pity they were seen outside of town on the Matilda H’way with two flat tyres later on in the day.
Cunning Asians? Looking at the economics of the drive – and even Munted should be able to do this – they would have to be getting at least $20 for each date roll.
“we have become a soft and helpless people in a harsh world”
Quite so. You risk being arrested if you are anything above soft and helpless, such as a pregnant woman who posted something on Facebook.
Daughter lives in Dutton Park. Her + Hubby have been prepping. Some sensible stuff like storing their outdoor potplants indoors and securing some of their windows that don’t close properly ( they live in an 100+ yr old house). Rang her yesterday and by the sounds of it they are tired from the re arrangement.
I believe a copy of the weekend Australian provides toilet paper for many days.
Yes, but I read the Weekend Oz digitally. The corners of my tablet are awfully sharp.
Last resort only, for the texture is more akin to emery paper, than to Bowscott (when applied to the selected delicate part of the anatomy)
Never mind how I know this.
A cracker, Dr F.
Forget about the perculiar light, this is all about a cyclone thats lost its way.
This is a rare event – to have a tropical cyclone in an area that is not classified as part of the tropics, here in southeast Queensland and northern New South Wales (NSW),” said Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Brisbane on Wednesday.
Thank you, Caveman — an excellent headline our disaster porn media will never use:
A headline from The Grauniad pops up on my newsfeed:
“Is climate change supercharging tropical cyclone Alfred?”
Golly, I wonder how they answer that.
Betteridge’s law of headlines ought to apply … but it is Te Grauniad.
Off to NZ tomorrow, almost booked to go through Brisbane. Had to stay overnight so not suitable. That was lucky.
Stay away from Kiwis holding tomato sauce bottles. 😀
Hopefully by venting their anger at politicians.
And the BoM, CSIRO, MSM, and all the other prophets of doom who looted billions based on lies.
Apparently it is not true that additional ‘signers’ have been flown into Brisbane to service the queue of pollies determined to appear on camera to tell people to stay out of the rain.
5D chess, cont’d.
France to Hit Trump’s 5% GDP Defense Spending Target (5 Mar)
Fun that Trump now has Euroweenies hopping about like meth addicted frogs. He couldn’t get them to defend themselves during his first term, but that’s sure changed now.
Yes, but how much of that will end up as new Urban Warfare kit and and an extra ten infantry divisions?
Quelling the Jihadi Japesters will take every man in uniform they have.
Chris Uhlmann on Sky yesterday pointed out to Kieran Gilbert that we have a lower incidence of cyclones, not more. Kieran changed the subject instantly.
We used to get maybe 5 per Wet Season across the Top End; nowadays that’s about 3.
“Don’t undermine my narrative with your facts.”
@igorsushko
BREAKING: French President Macron addressed all Europeans to prepare for war with Russia.
This was broadcast live across the continent.
Europe will not accept capitulation of Ukraine to Russia under the guise of “peace negotiations.”
Americans must decide whose side we are on.
There you go Montster.
What Macron actually said…
“The initiatives for peace are going in the right direction, and I welcome them, and we need to continue to help Ukrainians resist until they can negotiate with Russia a solid and lasting peace for themselves and for all of us. The path to peace cannot be achieved by abandoning Ukraine…Our forces will be there if necessary to guarantee peace, not before a peace agreement is signed.”
Always check the source and make your own judgment rather than relying on second-hand reports crafted to advance an agenda.
That doesn’t sound like an order to fix bayonets and go over the top to me.
Yep. Go to original sources and verify.
That’s exakkerly wot my own dear Hairy always says.
Smart man!
ABCcess reported the Frog midget as wanting to extend NATOs nuclear umbrella.
That sounds somewhat provocative while an actual “special police action” is still underway.
He won’t get any credit, but the photo is awesome.
Freed hostages thank Trump: You were our hope (5 Mar)
The guys are still looking a little gaunt. Need to be fed up with good Israeli food.
He got credit from those who matter.
Imagine Trump’s hours and days at that desk.
He must be so damn busy. Every five minutes being booked up.
Worse than a rookie lawyer in a Top Tier firm.
Hope he gets a golf game or two in as R&R.
Not after the speeches they’ve both just made. It couldn’t be clearer. They are determined to bully the U.S. into giving guarantees which would commit them to war against Russia after a false flag attack. Let them fight their own wars if they don’t want peace.
Starmer and Macron consider accompanying Zelensky to White House
Talk about I’ll just bring along my two big bruvvers.
Michael Shoebridge on Credlin last night said it’s not good to withdraw military equipment support for Ukraine while they were still in a fight. He is usually quite good, but that one made me think. It rather depends on who’s fighting who, and whether you want to cool things down. What do furry friends think?
Let’s see what Putin does on the ground.
For those who follow the frivolities of the travelling circus that is the AFL.
From the Oz:-
OK. That was done last year, but I am intrigued to know why it dropped now.
In unrelated news, the Next Big Thing in AFL world has displayed erratic behaviours of late, not inconsistent with having consumed a tip-truck full of drugs in the off-season.
Behaviours allegedly extending to the waving around of a firearm whilst in the midst of a bender.
One suspects that the AFL has belatedly arrived at the conclusion that their “three strikes” (i.e. “cover it up at all costs”) drug policy is going to end in tears.
The AFL has form in providing distraction squirrels. Darkest day in sport anyone?
@LizMacDonaldFOX
This is disturbing – Biden and Obama Democrats created a new beast, the “popup nonprofit shell” they suddenly launch to take in your taxpayer money supposedly for things like climate change and illegal immigration. Major front for taxpayer abuse with accusations of grift growing by the hour. Never saw it like this in decades covering IRS/taxes.
Check out the tax returns for one of these popup NGO shells, the Climate United Fund which got the biggest nonprofit grant in history out of Biden’s massive climate slush funds.
Kamala Harris and Biden’s EPA chief Michael Regan gave $7 billion total to the suddenly created Climate United Fund in April 2024 after it launched just five months earlier in November 30, 2022 when Its tax returns show it started with a tiny $547K in revs.
But it spent a massive $451K of that $547k in just two months in 2023, a quarter of that on legal fees and the majority $323K mysteriously blown on no one knows what because its tax returns don’t say.
It has no stipulated plans for how it will spend your $7B in tax $$, just ephemeral solar projects in Idaho, Arkansas, and Oregon that amount to only about $50M total, a fraction of the $7B. It also gave money out of that $7b to Power Forward Communities linked to Stacey Abrams.
It has little to no details on how much its officers get paid that you typically see on NGO 990s, in fact virtually no details, red flags that it’s a shell.
It supposedly is a partnership betw Dem insiders at investment firm Calvert Impact Capital, Community Preservation Corp. and a group called “Self-Help” (irony noted).
Beth Bafford is its CEO, a former “special assistant” in Obama’s OMB and a regional field director for the Obama Campaign.
As we tweeted about a month ago, it has ties to Democratic Party of California chairman and California State Treasurer Phil Angelides, Obama’s Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx, United Farm Workers of America co-founder Dolores Huerta and Patrice Willoughby of the Congressional Black Caucus.
Judge Glock, the Director of Research and Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, noted on X that the Climate United Fund got your $7B after submitting a small 49-page report. That was all it took.
Trump and Musk will hopefully find a way to stall payments to this shell front. The amount of money going into these climate boondoggles is at least being revealed by the DOGE probe.
I’ll bet we have the same nonsense here.
Still a great painting but at the very least I would have cut down that dead tree for firewood.
In other news tony burqa is allowing terrorist preacher Hussain Makke in while still keeping Candice out. Makke was at Nasrallah’s funeral after the bearded bastard was sent to his 72 virgin goats by the Israelis.
Rumour has it that tone has converted to islam and will sprout a beard after the morons in his seat of Watson vote him back in.
How can he grow a wierd beard when he can’t grow a spine?
@TrumpsHurricane
Trump just Torched the Democrats
Remember when the anointed one was heckled in his SOU by a repub?
The faux outraged. Somehow this time is ok?
IIRC, it was one of the Supreme Court justices, who asserted that O’Bummer had lied during his speech.
It might have been Clarence Thomas.
In other news tony burqa is allowing terrorist preacher Hussain Makke in while still keeping Candice out. Makke was at Nasrallah’s funeral after the bearded bastard was sent to his 72 virgin goats by the Israelis.
Interesting, don’t much care for Candace but Kellie-Jay Keen was denied a visa as was an Israeli minister.
If the terrorist hate preaching of Makke is the yardstick for “acceptable”,
then Candice Owen ought be granted a visa anytime she wants one.
Furthermore, I’m struggling to see where she’s at odds with (current) ALP core beliefs.
I am a nationalist. I have always been so, even when I was a bit left of centre.
If there was a party that called itself Nationalist, and had as its core philosophy that the nation state is the fundamental bloc of geopolitics, and sensible, centrist economic and social ideas, I would vote for that party.
I am not a globalist. I am not a ideologue or a believer that one system of political thought should rule the entire world. I am not a communist, and I despise those who are so ignorant of the history of socialism as to make excuses for it.
I thought the Trump phenomenon would advance this nationalist cause across those countries of the Anglosphere and Western Europe.
Which seems to be occurring.
But there is within the Trumpist movement an ultra-nationalist strand.
The ultra-nationalist sees nations as in some Darwinian competition, and his or her own country or some country he can adopt for the purpose, as a vehicle to dominate others, achieve broader geopolitical ends through playing one bloc off against another or through war, be it military or economic or information.
The tools of the ultra nationalist are propaganda, humiliation of opposition, appeal to female modes of thought, threats, bluster, demogoguery and thuggery.
They are gangsters.
I don’t think Trump has so far strayed into ultra nationalism, and I still think the ultimate result of his presidency will be a rebalancing of international trade away from ultra nationalist states like China and Russia, and the reduction of the idiocy on the left that allowed the current state of affairs to establish itself.
But be all too aware, just as there are shitbag ideologues on the left who want to dominate the world with their own sick agenda, globalists if you will, there is an ultra-nationalist strand attempting to use the Trumpist movement for it’s own ends.
This must fail.
For it to fail, the ordinary citizen must speak up and define the bounds between nationalism and ultra-nationalism.
Between free speech and propaganda.
Between balanced international trade and weaponised mercantilism.
Between an intolerance of stupidity and an intolerance of dissent.
I am confident we are in roughly the right direction.
Nationalism is like bulkheads in a ship. If the entire planet is globalized and a weird ideology infects society (greenies looking at you) then there are no bulkhead doors to close against the flood of stupid.
Nationalism then gives competing social ideas a chance, so someplace like Hungary, which is massively subsidizing childbirth can compete with Italy, with a current lifetime birthrate below one per woman. Let the nation with the best ideas win!
Exactly right Bruce.
And when you cannot stray into criticism of your own side without being ostracised, that in itself is a warning.
Gad Saad @GadSaad 9h
I’m not convinced by Saad’s reasoning. It’s reductionistic and therefore fundamentally atheist.
The Greeks were seeking truth; debate or dialogue was a way of getting closer to it by testing one’s argument with another thinker. We in the West inherited that methodology, although it might be said it’s now sitting the attic gathering dust.
Carry on.
Yes, I agree Roger. The extraordinary development of rational thinking and philosophy as a result of the development of the city state of citizens in Athens and other poleis, was a radical new road in civilisation. Kings and tyrants were no longer the source of all effective decision making.
When you combine this development (“Athens”) with the Judaeo-Christian belief system (“Jerusalem”) you arrive at the foundations of western civilisation.
Thank you, Vicki.
(I was going to mention Jerusalem!)
China and Russia as ultranationalists?
Understand? The USSR were one nation, one people, one motherland.
This is Putanism.
So this is now ‘ultranationalist’ talk.
When it applies to reconstituting the Soviet Union, yes.
Well pointed out, Arky. Nationalism is an essential component of any attempt at democracy, but it can turn into kleptocracy and an imperialist mindset if carried to extremes.
Walk the golden mean seems to be a truism to keep handy.
Yes.
Every movement creates its own counter movement.
A mirror image.
The woke left is unable to recognise that their positions have created an opposing movement, until now relatively mild and moderated through the existing Republican Party structure. However if they continue to double down what comes after won’t be anywhere as nice.
Likewise, the Trumpist movement must repudiate any signs of hubris, because it isn’t too late yet to rebuild the centre.

Old Fart Humour.
THAT, was the funniest skit I’ve heard in a long time.
Although, I reckon he’s lying about his age. 74, pull the other one!
Less than eight years ago, Orange Hitler berated the Euros for slacking off on Defence spending and sponging off NATO.
They laughed it off.
Since 2022 we have had three years of hand-wringing over the Wussian threat (all done to shake down US dollars. And boots on the ground if required).
Fast forward to 2025.
Orange Hitler slams the bag shut.
Having fed the hysteria the Frogs and the Brits have no choice but to beef up defence and are in a bidding war to see who can up their defence budgets the most.
Note I said budgets … not spending.
Because it is one thing to create a plan or a budget and an entirely different thing to actually spend the dollars.
They still believe they can sucker the US into doing the heavy lifting, whilst posturing about increased defence spending “over the next few years”.
There will be a sucker punch, but it won’t be landing on Donald’s chin.
Donald will help them achieve their defence goals quickly by offering to sell US hardware.
So he pivots from tipping money into Ukraine to forcing the Euros to pay for it, and minimising criticism that he is not helping.
Of course, the big problem for the Euros is non-conscripted military manpower.
Where does it come from?
That is one possible scenario. However, Putin would not like it so Trump is probably not going to do that.
And Biden can govern.
And KamelToe can win whatever state it was.
Keep predicting, you have a record of wrongology to maintain.
Piss off, Nazi. Go play with your Hamas buddies.
When does Mueller’s report drop m0nster?
Must be soon.
I expect it to be devastating for Trump.
“Any day now”. I believe was the quote.
There’s sealed indictments and everything.
Oh noes!
Elon Musk’s DOGE Cuts Could Kill Your Dog (6 Mar, via Climate Depot)
I love the waahhh! They aren’t happy. Translated to Aussie it would render as “keep paying for BoM or your cat is toast”.
I thought yesterday that Trump could announce that every child in the US was getting a fluffy kitten, and Donald would pay for the feed and vets bills out of his own pocket, and the Dimocrats would oppose it.
And here he is today.
Killing fluffy kittens.
At least they aren’t ending up in a Haitian cooking pot.
Now, now, behave! .. LOL!
Theyve gone the full hostage puppy.
Never go the full hostage puppy.
so, a *literal* ‘hostage puppy’ threat?
If this is so important then some other water authority will incorporate it into their monitoring. That is so with so many of these enormous make-work projects dreamed up by the leftist empire-building bureaucrats. It’s full of over-reach.
The Euros emptied their inventory these last three years.
This would be a dumb move for the Euros. If they actually want independence here, they need to focus on revitalising their arms industry, nor the Americans.
Err … wut?
1. We face an imminent threat from Wussia.
2. We will “revitalise our arms industry” in response.
If you aren’t talking about running a night shift, or cobbling together an extra production line in an existing factory do you know how long it would take to “revitalise” anything in Western Europe which isn’t related to Renewballs or immigrant housing?
Worthy long term aim.
But it isn’t happening by next Friday.
What does the US have to sell right now to meet an imminent threat? Nothing.
You are kidding, right?
I guess US hardware isn’t compatible with European gear, huh?
What US hardware is available right now, Sancho?
One of the articles I linked this morning suggested replacing lost car manufacturing jobs (which they deliberately destroyed) with armaments manufacturing. Never mind their beloved environment.
FMD.
That argument was used in the 1950’s to justify protection for the auto industry.
That they could pivot from sedans to tanks and troop carriers in the blink of an eye.
Armament manufacturing and civilian automotive have about as much in common these days as bee-keeping and brain surgery.
F-cking bizarre thing to say.
The Germans have willfully destroyed (or outsourced to other countries) just about every other heavy industry, so good luck with their own “arms industry.”
Why? Europe is already ahead of Russia. Fielding 50 year old tanks, can’t produce enough Su-57s, repurposing cold era tactical nukes, still not rolling out the checkmate, ancient artillery, sourcing materials form NK, Iran, and China. Bronk and Hollings has argued that NATO air capability could take out the VKS with ease. Perun’s analysis argues the EU alone is already ahead of Russia in raw numbers, equipment, and personnel.
Replacing blinker fluid in your car.
https://www.facebook.com/reel/1309113063782542
They seem to have realised that.
Macron at least.
Meantime he’s talking about extending France’s nuclear deterrent to other European countries.
Canada?
Mexico?
Er…que?
Ha ha.
I saw some hyper-bowl on Facebook from Canadians pleading for Euro nukes to defend against the Donald.
I don’t think Macron would go for it, but Starmer might.
His posturing on the world stage this week has given him a slight boost in the polls, so he’s less unpopular than he was last week.
Chuckle.
French Canadians in a separate Quebec could win Macron over……lol
On the matter of the SCOTUS decision re funds expended, I don’t have a problem with that.
Look at the flip side.
Imagine Trump lets contracts to build the Mexican wall.
You get one of those contacts, do the work and get paid.
Along comes a Dimocrat administration who declares the work wasteful, in contravention of some UN convention or other, or whatever, and claws the money back, sending you broke.
If the money has been just parked, or was illegally or fraudulently disbursed, that is another matter.
But it is a dangerous path to take to clawback monies for work legally contracted and performed, no matter how distasteful or frivolous you think the program was.
This is now a political issue as much as a budgetary one.
Let the Dimocrats fight tooth and nail for the right to piss money away.
If they continue, the mid-term baseball bats will be yuuuuge.
Paging Captain Kirk. Will Capt Kirk please come to the bridge!
NASA powers down two Voyager science instruments to extend mission life (Phys.org, 5 Mar)
Nearly 50 years and they’re still operating well despite the power reduction. Maybe Elon could retrieve them for a museum, if aliens don’t find them first.
There are no aliens.
That is all.
Wrong TE. It lives in a basement in Hawthorn and has no comprehension of the English language.
Fact Check: Likely True

Did Kirk make out with V’ger?
We’ve both been riffing on Star Trek The Motion Picture, where Voyager comes back again in 2270 and William Shatner is sent to intercept it.

Yes, but Kirk always beds the sexy alien.
From memory, Vger inhabited a sexy chick.
So did Kirk do the intergalactic funky chicken dance with her or not?
Via Indolent at 8.23am:
Like Albo, Zelensky is a political weakling being pushed and pulled by the Euro communists and Biden State Department activists still functioning in Washington DC courtesy of the billions the Biden crew pushed out the door at the end of last year to finance the DNC’s battery of NGOs in the Trump era.
Zelensky is now contradicting the statement he made yesterday that he was ready to sign the minerals deal under President Trump’s “strong leadership”.
He changed his mind because without the Russia-Ukraine war he has no future.
I’m waiting for the revelations about how much US aid money Zelensky has stolen. Tucker Carlson hinted last week those revelations are on the way.
Reference?
Roger, link via Indolent @ 8.23am.
That’s the opinion of someone on X/Twitter!
Zelensky has given two speeches in the last two days.
No doubt he’s under a lot of pressure from parties in Ukraine, but in neither has he said anything about reneging on the minerals deal. He did mention further cooperation with the Americans though.
Last I heard (i.e. early this morning) Waltz and his Ukrainian counterpart were on the phone lining up a meeting and there was “forward momentum” in his words.
Tucker lost me over Israel.
That, and the “world renowned historian” who he had on who just bagged Churchill as a warmonger who could’ve signed a peace treaty with Hitler.
Carlson agreed emphatically, obviously forgetting Hitler’s “peace deal” would’ve main Britain and its dominions slave States of Germany.
I don’t trust a word he says.
Me neither.
Inspirational!
Nike can eff off the sooner the better.
“Rhea Bullos is an 11-year-old track athlete from the Philippines who won three gold medals at the Iloilo Schools Sports Council Meet in 2019. She wore homemade sneakers made of plaster bandages to compete. Her story went viral, and many people asked Nike to send her and her teammates proper athletic shoes. Nike responded by sending Rhea new sneakers, socks, and a sports bag.”
Boy there’s some bs on this interwebbie thing.
Thankyou Rosie. Nike can still eff off.
I am a nationalist. I have always been so, even when I was a bit left of centre.
That is the head exerting its rationality over the heart, if I may say so. I suspect that this is something many on this blog have in common.
As they say, “If you are not left-of-centre when you are young, you havnt got a heart. And if you are not right-of-centre as an adult, you havnt got a head”. Maybe a little strong, but essentially true.
Globalism, the Green obsession, and similar persuasions, are fantasies that ignore the essential tribalism of our species.
Yet the globalists and the slime happily pander to Islamic, indigenous, and other forms of tribalism.
Just not that of their own tribe, which they hate with a passion.
the slime happily pander to Islamic……tribalism.
Yep.
I’m still seething at BoN’s observation that the Anglican Church in Newcastle hosted a Ramadan event.

Of. Course we are all being harangued by (especially, though not exclusively) Green and Labor pollies that cyclones are more frequent due to climate change.
Indeed one prolific commenter in the Oz tells Us this is certain and says the IPCC says so, so there….! When asked for the data upon which this is based, he noted IPCC AR6, chapter 11.2.
OK I thought, lets go see. Sure enough there is a section about tropical cyclones, and without following their references to the raw data in those references, I felt the summary few sentences were of interest and I quote:
“…A similarly reliable subset of the data representing TC landfall frequency over Australia shows a decreasing trend in Eastern Australia since the 1800s (Callaghan and Power, 2011), as well as in other parts of Australia since 1982 (Chand et al., 2019; Knutson et al., 2019). A paleoclimate proxy reconstruction shows that recent levels of TC interactions along parts of the Australian coastline are the lowest in the past 550–1500 years (Haig et al., 2014)…”
Does anyone here see supporting information in this extract form the IPCC. And when will these pollies be accused of lying and scare mongering.
Jo Nova has a post on such things today. The following is from BoM:
Jo Nova says otherwise and has the Scientific evidence – What a cheek for those ‘Climate Alarmists’.

Went to hardware store this AM. Allegedly Toowoomba sold out of generators some days ago and some people have been making the 6 hour round trip drive to Dalby from Brisbane to buy one.
Which no one would have bothered to read anyway.
Schools closed today and tomorrow in Toowoomba and Darling Downs.
Some parents staying home from jobs to look after kids. Disaster prep is all very well but economic loss should be considered. The weather just isn’t that bad here today. Odd showers and right now 11 knot southerlies.

Every day lost of Grade 12 is about 1% of preparation for final year exams. As a parent you’d be ropable if this storm fizzles out.
I heard from a fairly reliable source that the Liberals’ private polling suggests they’re currently winning 17 extra seats, but they need 20 for an outright win. Seventeen seats would mean the Liars could form a government with the support of independents.”
Would Bob Katter, Dai Le, and Allegra Spender help them get over the line?
Spender is going to lose her seat.
Dunno about that, I reckon Chaney will lose Curtin, Daniel will lose Goldstein and the teal in Mackellar will likely lose her seat.
Don’t know about Fatso Ryan in Kooyong.
I think Steggall will be reelected.
Given the performances of both Labor & Liberal I doubt whether any of the Teals need worry on that score .. The Libs might grab a few Labor scalps but neither Uni-party has achieved anything worthy of unseating any “independent”, Teal or otherwize ….
Any, possible, Teal loss will be more about “personality” than performance ……..!
If Sydney has a La-La Land it’s the northern Beaches.
Minority government is what the electorate wants, I reckon. Certainly the way their votes are trending.
Get ready for Deputy PM Bandt.
Add Cloive in the mix, he will siphon votes for sure.
I reckon they will need more than 20 seats. The ALP will pick up a couple of green seats me thinks. at least Griffith (Rudd’s old seat).
Hmmm no mention that Elbow is back in Canberra?

Zelenskyy did not change his mind from yesterday, Tom. You just didn’t read his words carefully enough.
He has always said, and still says, that he would sign a minerals deal with the US on the spot if it came with security guarantees. Trump is not prepared to give those, as Putin vetoed it and Trump answers to Putin.
This was obvious after the WH argument to anyone with a brain. A group which, evidently, does not include you.
I recall how our you stated that…..

Kamala Harris will win Iowa
It was bleedingly obvious to anyone with a brain that Biden could not govern nor would Harris win Iowa.
Carry on, goon.
Also, Biden has NEVER governed.

The note taker for the Trump/Putin conversation was whom? Certainly not you, so stop lying.
A “fairly senior figure from Rome” had a go at Australians (to me) yesterday. Apparently, you’re meant to have ashes sprinkled on your head, not marked on your forehead (in accordance with books of Job, Daniel and Jonah)…

Have a look at President Trump’s demands to Hamas at Micheal Smith’s site.
Some excerpts:
Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted!
If you (hold hostages), you are DEAD!
RELEASE THE HOSTAGES
NOW, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY LATER!
And importantly – I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job,
No obfuscation there!
Go you good thing.
Plain speaking.

To a professional managerial class type, they dont care about this stuff.
To a genuine taxpayer, it matters.

Yeah, no.

The US is killing someone by firing squad for the 1st time in 15 years. Here’s a look at the history | AP News
Biden commuted the death sentence of a genuine cannibal (he was eating the body of a pre-teen girl he sexually assaulted and murdered).
Even though he deserves a firing squad, you can rest easy that as soon as the opportunity arises, gen pop will do that which Biden stopped for some unknown reason.
EW!!!!
I should also add that if the Nazi Adam Bandt becomes Deputy PM (as our Nazi desires), there will be a very large exodus of Jews from this country. No doubt that will make our resident Nazi happy. He and his Nazi comrades in the Greens will get there wish, to make this country ‘Judenrein’.
You know Cranky, if you label everyone who isn’t a rabid Zionist as a Nazi, you kind of devalue the label.
I’m looking at the period just before Sept. ’39. The problem for the English and French is that the measures they imposed on Germany following WW1 were so punitive that even they could see they were indefensible a decade or more later. And so I read that the English were quite happy for Poland to come to sort of agreement with Germany re Danzig corridor but then they provide the security guarantee in late March which encourages the Poles to reject any German proposal. There’s actually some debate that this was the opposite of what Chamberlain intended but there it is. And then, fearful that the Germans would force the issue, and understanding that they had no means to stop them with or without a security guarantee (then why provide something you can never live up to) they consider an alliance with the Soviets. As they dither over the details, the Germans themselves secure a pact with the Soviets.
Indeed.
And Winston didn’t come to power until May 1940… if he’d been earlier we might’ve avoided more carnage.
What could Churchill have done if he was PM a year or two before Sept ’39? Churchill supported the security guarantee even though it could never actually guarantee anything but a world war. The British or French simply didn’t have the means to protect Poland by engaging in offensive operations against the Germans.
Dunno DB, but he was advocating for a much quicker build up of forces for a long time and nobody took him seriously.
The problem for the English and French is that the measures they imposed on Germany following WW1 were so punitive that even they could see they were indefensible a decade or more later.
In view of the measures imposed on a defeated Russia, under the Treaty of Brest Litivosk, and the crippling reparations a victorious Germany would have imposed on a defeated France and Britain – reparations designed to prevent those nations ever posing a threat to Germany ever again – German whining about the Treaty of Versailles is ironic, to say the least.
The double irony here is that it lead to the collapse of the Russian Empire and its replacement by the Soviet Union. Sadly, the British and the French didn’t learn an important lesson there.
Indeed, but they could hardly have envisioned a political movement as utterly absurd as the nayzees arising, either.

Listening to UK leftists, faced with finding the money for defence, stating that the welfare state will need to be cut, and the million plus young men who “can’t get out of bed to go to work” and we will need to help them get into the workforce. Then one said “Maybe they can join the army”.
Well, baby steps into reality.
Actually they’ve been having a sleep-in in the hope someone from Defence would care & wake them with a voice mail,
“Hi, we’ve got just the job for you, Army, Navy, Air Force your choice ..” .. LOL!
So far in the last few weeks they’ve diverted the foreign aid budget and a lot of renewable energy money towards defence. Which is pretty amazing given it’s a Labour government. Holy cows for the slaughter!
getting quite amused at the ‘worries” of some folk cos a storm is coming .. Last November, for no other reason, than my own pocket this OAP (77) decided NO air-con, no fans this summer & so over the past 3, soon to be 4, months I have survived several dayz of swelters & a coupla of meltings but overall just got on with “houso” life (inspired by tales of Camperdown) out here in this western Sydney enclave, with no batts in the roof and chipboard ceilings & walls ..
Sure, there have been, maybe, 15, spread-out, really hot dayz but only a handful of sweaty nights cos altho warm o/n, at times, the humidity has been quite low .. so, all in all, l’ve survived .. Quarterly electric bill in Jan was $3.54 so money-wize it paid off & not expecting the next to top that by much either ……
The point being you can’t turn of the weather so live with it .. folk who live in these, extreme, storm prone areas must have been thru this before so why is this one so frightening ……
&, you can bet your last dollar, if it fizzles out to just a stormy day or two there’ll be no media/gummint apologizing .. they’ll just carry on as if they’d never uttered .. “impending disaster” …….
I have a number of indicators that I must see to believe the left has returned to sanity:
No more sign language idiots wildly gesticulating at press conferences.
No more rainbow flags, anywhere, but particularly when making pronouncements related to defence.
No more fat lesbians as police, fire or defence chiefs, wailing that everything went wrong in the wake of disaster, because they couldn’t get a hair appointment or a reservation at their favourite restaurant.
Pronouns gone from bios.
I only have one indicator for the right to remain sane: stop getting a semi over Putin. He’s not your man.
I don’t wish to alarm people, but my insider at the BoM (Bureau of Muddy) has revealed the latest ‘puter models are predicting each individual raindrop in the coming cyclone will exhibit the greatest range of estimated surface elasticity since records began.
Does that mean they will bounce and not splash?
Based on indisputable psyentifik Millenium Falcon ModeIling by the Bureau of Muddy, it means they will take up more space, thus disturbing and spreading the air-up-there (and a chair as well), speeding up the already disastrous effects of Klimate Khange.
The most efficacious response is a tax on human bowel movements and a faecal cargo mission to Jupiter’s second moon.
You know Cranky, if you label everyone who isn’t a rabid Zionist as a Nazi, you kind of devalue the label.
Very very telling. The Nazi’s choice of words….”rabid Zionist‘….tells us everything we need to know about him.
No doubt our Nazi is an active participant in the weekly Jew hating festivals in Melbourne’s CBD, where he can shout, scream and screech….’rabid Zionist‘.
No wonder he’s a fan of Bandt. Like birds of a feather, Nazis stick together.
I’m just a plain old zionist
It’s almost as if they don’t know what software licences are for and how to estimate and negotiate usage.
There are a number of different licensing models and, if I’m a government department with 10,000 seats, I am not paying overs for licences.
For example, you can buy concurrent licences where you only pay for the maximum concurrent usage. Given 68.3% of public serpents are WFH and never open their compuda, this would be the way to go.
Of course, the Nirvana for most software salesmen is the HQ mandate.
Someone in DC decides that everyone in the EPA needs MenuPlanner 5.2.1 and … ker-ching.
There are a number of different licensing models and, if I’m a government department with 10,000 seats, I am not paying overs for licences.
Late last year Chamath mentioned that analysis his team has done estimates American non usage of subscription software at a couple hundred bill year.
He got pushback saying the number couldn’t possibly be that big.
Imagine if every business (big or small) did a DOGE on themselves with a focus on subscription software licences.
It could be anything.
…the million plus young men who “can’t get out of bed to go to work” and we will need to help them get into the workforce
The reference was to the UK…I know of a bloke there who hasn’t worked for 25 years, because of a “bad back.” This is despite no medics being able to find anything wrong. He draws comprehensive “benefits”.
Know of another here the same. Occasionally the government has forced him into a “training opportunity” which results in a job in retail sales, say in a bottleshop, despite being a comprehensive druggie. After a week or so he doesn’t turn up so gets fired. Remains on the dole though.
I have no idea how the dole works now, but, way back last century, I seem to remember various pre-qualifying conditions before you got it, and disqualifying conditions and waiting periods if you got fired or quit a job.
I suspect now it is just considered “income support” and no-one is refused if they don’t have a job for any reason.
In fact, only complete duffers are on the dole.
The NDIS is where it’s really at, man!
Might swap out the semi slicks on the Miata. Luckily it is hermetically sealed.
Hay truck stop has some on special, only driven through the truck stop once
….after which they were semi-slick, I assume?
Nonsense. Annual reparations were around 4.5% of German GDP, which wasn’t ruinous. However, the inept German governments after the war blamed reparations for every problem they faced, when in reality, those evils stemmed from their own incompetent policies.
The real issue was that the end of the war didn’t lead to Germany being occupied, as it was after World War II. Instead, it was left to fester and stew on its own.
But of course, Churchill was worse than Hitler. Far worse. 🙂
The Krauts were full of righteous indignation from 1918 until 1939 (probably 1945) and wracked by misguided guilt ever since.
By misguided guilt, I don’t mean over the holocaust. I mean that they, more than almost any other nation on earth are incredibly susceptible to accusations of racism.
Hence their massive Muesli immigration problem that they seem paralysed to confront.
Another legacy is that euthansia is absolutely not under consideration, it’s political poison in Germany.
I can’t help wondering why that is?
Aktion T4 perhaps?
I said that quiet bit out loud when my Bavarian friend said “we will never follow the Netherlands and Belgium because of our regrettable history in that issue.”
Hence the need for massive numbers of moozleys.
Euthanasia problem solved.
Reparations were the least of it. Think of all the lands they retook between ’36 and ’39

Why assume there was a single selection pressure driving human cognition? All organisms are seeking truth because that is essential to survival. It isn’t the only imperative but it is a very important one.
This takes the cake: the demorats don’t clap for the young cancer survivor. What the young chap says is amazing and those vile kunts maddow and the other vermin ridden bitch accusing Trump of using the young guy are beyond contempt. The msm is shit:
They’re being EATEN ALIVE for this…
It takes some chutzpah for Democrats and their supporters to accuse others of exploitation of ill or less fortunate people.
Maddow and Wallace are disgusting filth.
Just made the mistake of looking at news.com, this what passes as journalism these days?
The headlines are a great example of the yelling fire in a theatre. BOM talking about a Cat 1 crossing for Alfred but the kiddy jismists somehow construe that to Cat 3.
Wow I’ve never seen such rampant, hyperventilated fearmongering…
BOM know you are preoccupied but time correct some of the lies.
But if they dont hyperventilate then the Albotross would look like a pissant trying to garner kudos for holding press conferences (north shore jacket required?)
And the frothing about the Duttonator not being present wouldnt have any political impact.
Therefore, it would be a brave move minister, very brave indeed, to suggest otherwise.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ik8JT2S-kBE
It’s very frustrating when you live in an area of possible crossing. Just whish Alfred would make up his mind so we have some certainty.
A big thank you to all of the Cats who gave condolences yesterday. I took the advice of having a sip or twenty of Whiskey and remembering some of our childhood.
Cheers all.
Wasn’t around to read it.Obviously there was a death? All the best, Ranga.
Sorry, I was running around yesterday and didn’t get a chance to comment.
Sincere condolences.
We lost a brother last year to cancer, and you do find yourself transported back to childhood and reflecting on the whoosh! that is our brief time here.
I heard an interview with that cancer researcher (Richard Scolyer) who trialled radical immunotherapy on himself after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
The interviewers were praising his fighting spirit in warding off the cancer (so far).
He pulled them up.
It has nothing to do with fighting.
It is 99% pure luck if you survive or not.
The episode was, of course, theater meant to stir emotions, which it certainly did—and justifiably so. The demonics couldn’t even stand and give the kid a round of applause. Dog shit on the sidewalk has more value than all of them combined.
In fairness, some of them did. I distinctly saw a woman in pink clapping. They’re not all utterly degenerate.
But those three blondes…yuk. They looked angry.
Perhaps they’d prefer to see Sleepy Joe sniffing little girls rather than a young man being given the opportunity of a lifetime.
“In fairness” one woman out of roughly 250 plus demons? 🙂
She was the only one I saw in that tight clip, JC. I realise Mr Hoodie was trying to make a point, but he has eyes too. He would be better served offering video clips that don’t immediately negate the point he’s trying to make.
And yes, by and large they are horrible people in all sorts of ways and for all sorts of reasons. Some are downright sinister.
Unfortunately it’s another sh*ts and giggles “these people” clip. I would rather have had a shot that panned the audience so I could see the standouts, the ones who swam against the stream, rather than focus entirely on the grumpy mongs.
The funniest feature of the evening, apart from the pussy suits, were the auction paddles. Sorry girls and guys, I don’t think the Pres and VP are for sale.

China’s navy mission reveals Pacific’s biggest jellyfish: the Albanese
The Mocker
12:52PMMarch 05, 2025.Updated 2:00PMMarch 05, 2025
Well that was quite the palaver. The Chinese government sent a flotilla of warships, equipped with advanced technology, to sail 10,000km to Australia on a fact-finding mission.
They found out what they wanted to know. But their actions are confounding. You do not need a sophisticated sonar or a naval task force to work out that Australia is home to the Pacific’s biggest jellyfish, otherwise known as Anthony Albanese. Anyone here could have told them that.
The Prime Minister’s Sino-slap was poetic justice. Instead of calling out Beijing for its adventurism, all an enfeebled Albanese could do was accuse Opposition Leader Peter Dutton of “talking Australia’s national interest down” by highlighting his government’s farcical response to this intimidatory exercise.
This is rank hypocrisy. When opposition leader, Albanese all but sided with China when it placed crippling trade sanctions on Australia following the Morrison government’s call for an inquiry into the origins of Covid-19. Instead of backing his country and presenting a united front to counter Beijing’s bullying, Albanese exploited the situation for domestic political gain.
“This government seems to have presided over a complete breakdown of relationships,” he said in 2020. “The fact that ministers can’t pick up the phone to each other, I find that extraordinary.”
Speaking of extraordinary, and to quote Office of National Intelligence head Andrew Shearer, last fortnight’s naval venture was the “furthest south a [People’s Liberation Army-Navy] task group has operated”. Albanese has such a great relationship with China that he did not even get a phone call to let him know it would conduct live-fire exercises just a few hundred kilometres off the east coast of Australia. I find that extraordinary.
But thankfully our defence surveillance systems were on the ball, right? Wrong. We learned of what the Chinese were doing only because a Virgin Airlines pilot notified Airservices Australia, which in turn told Defence. Even the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) learned of this hazard before Defence did. I find that extraordinary.
It gets even better. Fronting the media a day after the incident, a hapless Albanese revealed his knowledge gap was the size of the Great Australian Bight.
“China issued, in accordance with practice, an alert that it would be conducting these activities, including the potential use of live fire,” he insisted.
This was nonsense. As Chief of the Defence Force David Johnston later told Senate estimates, Defence did not learn of the exercise until 40 minutes after it had begun. Farcically, Albanese later claimed the RNZN warned Defence what was happening “at around the same time” the Virgin pilot gave Airservices Australia the heads-up. In fact Virgin’s notification preceded the RNZN’s by an hour.
That a prime minister – even one notorious for his inability to get across a brief – could be that ignorant regarding a matter of national security is something I find not only extraordinary but also alarming.
To top it off, Johnston also admitted it was not clear whether a Chinese submarine had accompanied the fleet. That tells you everything about what has been allowed to happen to the Royal Australian Navy since the Albanese government took over. At this rate, the only way we could detect a foreign submarine in our waters is if a Virgin Voyages cruise ship in the vicinity alerts us.
It was an aquatic circus, and the clownfish are aplenty. The RNZN’s delay in notifying its Australian counterpart “wasn’t a real incident,” said Defence Minister Richard Marles.
That must have been news to the airline carriers that hurriedly had to divert a total of 49 flights, including several midair. No big deal, you say?
“I think trying to make something of when that information ultimately makes its way to Canberra is not the pertinent point here,” Marles said.
But you know what does matter, at least according to the minister? Aside from demanding his department address him as ‘Deputy Prime Minister’, Marles will be remembered for overturning the ban on rainbow morning teas at Defence.
“I actually think the restoring of the diversity morning teas matters,” he said in 2022. And how are those priorities working out for the country, minister?
Then there was Defence Industry Minister Pat Conroy’s laughable claim that the Chinese flotilla had faced “the highest level of surveillance that you’ve ever seen”. Jesus wept, there was one frigate shadowing these ships and it was not even ours. It might as well have been sending alerts by flag for all the use it was.
As is typical of Foreign Minister Penny Wong when her shortcomings are exposed, she used her opening address to Senate estimates to attack the Coalition, accusing its members of “trying to turn China into an election issue”.
Like Albanese, Wong is a hypocrite. In May 2021, she too joined the Beijing bandwagon, saying then prime minister Scott Morrison’s approach to China was “frenzied, afraid and lacking context”. As Anthony Galloway, then political correspondent for The Age, observed at the time, in making those remarks she had “declared an end to bipartisanship”.
A tip for journalists: next time you interview Treasurer Jim Chalmers, remind him of what he told the National Press Club in 2021. The Morrison government had “failed to plan for a more assertive China,” he claimed.
“And our concern is that we’re not responding; don’t have a plan to deal with that,” he said. I could not better describe Labor’s current situation. A renewable energy superpower, you were saying, Jim Chalmers?
Albanese’s ‘plan’ consisted of meekly offering that “we have made it very clear that we expect more (sic) notice to have been given”. You have been warned, President Xi Jinping. Next Albanese will tell you he has been underestimated all his life.
Beijing succeeded in both intimidating and humiliating Albanese. His feebleness is such he would not protest if he woke one night to find Chinese ambassador Xiao Qian pointing a laser at his eyes. He would not demur if Xiao returned the following day and blasted him with sonar pulses while he was taking a dip in The Lodge’s swimming pool.
Here’s a thought – could Albanese’s advisers tell him Beijing’s actions threaten commercial air travel, and that if they continue he will not be able to holiday overseas, let alone receive his regular upgrades to first class? I cannot think of any other way to galvanise him.
“Handsome Boy” is so 2023. Thanks to the Chinese navy, Albanese is now “Cabin Boy”.
Beautiful work from The Mocker. Thanks for posting it.
Not even a ‘Master Bates’ in Captain Pugwash. Although he probably ‘master bates’ a fair bit to relieve himself of the stress of being a PM. Maybe he and Monty Pox Virus should get together for a mutual session of ineffectual ‘wanking’.
If I could slightly adjust the Babylon Bee’s text:
“Albanese institutes conscription for everyone with Ukraine flag in their Facebook profile.”
Genius, BB, thanks.
So there is something in the rumour that Albanese is going to institute a Vietnam era style conscription?
I wouldn’t put it past him to do it without announcing it before an election.
🙂
Had dinner with some Jewish friends last night. They said they know a large number of Jewish people who are contemplating leaving Australia for the US or Israel. Some of them are enticed by Trump’s idea of a golden visa. I was actually quite astonished to hear this.
By coincidence, I had coffee with a couple of pals yesterday too. I can’t recall if one said there was some function that James Patterson hosted or if it was Dutton (in Melbourne). I think it was Patterson. The discussion centered on Israel and what has been going on in Australia regarding Jews. Very wealthy, prominent Jews attended, and it appears they have gone hardcore Liberal. There were very harsh words against Penny Wong and Tony Burke. Voting numbers aren’t there, but the money spigot will be.
I, for one, will be simply devastated if any of our wonderful Jewish community leaves our shores because of this unbelievable anti-semitic behaviour of the last year.
Dutton and the LNP should bloody well IMPLORE them not to leave. We will be a lesser nation if they leave.
One million thumbs up!

Ukraine is not a member of the EU or NATO, yet still many in Europe (like this senator) see Trump as a traitor for leaving Ukraine in the lurch. This senator points out what Europe will have to do to make up for probable loss of their “USA umbrella”.

One dude at the cafe shop had a pretty decent set of ideas for the Libs, and I think it’s being conveyed up the chain. Stop talking about talking about nuclear energy. Don’t even raise it. Just keep talking about the fact that the country has a severe energy crisis going on that must be solved ASAP. And keep repeating it.
As I said yesterday and earlier today, that is Trump’s superpower.
He is so in their heads that they can’t help but reflexively oppose anything and everything he says and does.
The trannie ban is the perfect example. I am sure the hard-heads the party are looking at the polling and can’t find a barge pole long enough to push it away. But, as soon as the lights are on the congressional operatives, they go off like a firecracker about it. I saw some D-Freak from Minnesota today calling it “genocide”.
As I said, if Trump had announced free fluffy kittens for all primary school kids in the US, with Elon picking up the tab for Wiskas and vet bills, they would still go off their nuts.

This might take the cake for the most bald faced reversal in the face of overwhelming evidence otherwise… ever.
Chand has led research that has argued the number of tropical cyclones has fallen by 13% in the 20th century. This was in line with expectations from climate scientists that global heating could actually reduce the total number of cyclones that form – but, of those, there will be a shift to higher intensity systems.

A principle of government that should be implemented vigorously is that the taxation and the services provided should be as close to the citizen as possible,
So schools do not belong at a state or federal level. They probably don’t even belong at local government level.
If you are mature enough to take your cock out and get someone pregnant, you are mature enough to get a blooming job and pay for the resultant children.
Likewise policing. Most policing functions are, or should be, local enforcement of law and order. Locking up scrotes. Stopping joyriders and having a visible presence. Hanging murderers.
Those who want “progressive taxation” should note: this is naturally progressive in that wealthy neighbourhoods would provide themselves more services, thus have to charge more taxes. Poorer neighbourhoods would have to prioritise which services to provide, and pay less and charge less taxes to their citizens.
Arky ,
Would you want any P&C you ever dealt with running the school? Seriously?
Minus state and Federal money, maybe, but probably as stated, better private.
Pushing the functions of government to the lowest level possible must result in better government at those lower levels as things with real consequences are put in the immediate proximity of the citizen.
Lots of them have gone autonomous with their own board and management power.
Just as long as we had the option of hanging the bastards if they annoyed us, sure.
I’d agree in part with that having been a president for a few years.
I found the biggest worry by far were some of the teachers.
It would be an interesting exercise if we got to vote for Police Commissioners…

The principle of subsidiarity.
The only things the Commonwealth should be responsible for are basically defence, international trade and diplomacy and customs.
Tax should be collected at the state level because it’s the states that provide the services – hospitals, schools, roads, etc.
Income tax should be set at a flat rate below 20%. Anything higher is the road to socialist serfdom.
And yet, Roger, from what I suspect, the worst abuses (in proportion) may be occuring at the local government level, for which we pay rates that increase by something like 5% a year.
I haven’t got to them yet, JC.

Yes.
International trade has to include international finance and government borrowings.
The problem in Victoria is a Socialist government spending like drunken sailors to launder money through the Bruvvers back to the party and the Big Guys.
And borrowing to do it.
The only time Hunchback was reined in was when he went directly to Chinah to try to sign up to yuuuge Belt and Road debt.
However, we still have monster debt held by all sorts of other entities.
What happens if (when) Victorianistan defaults?
Does the Commonwealth let it sink?
Or bail it out?
Let it sink. They can sell assets to other Australian states. I like the idea of VicRail owned by Queensland Rail, hospitals owned by religious groups, lots of toll roads in Melbourne.
I’m sure Chinerr will buy it. As long as it removes itself from the Federation
Chinerr will gladly fly in its Paramilitary Police Forces to protect its investments.
…Hang on, haven’t we been here before?
Rose Girone obituary: oldest Holocaust survivorTeacher whose knitting and indefatigability helped her to become a supercentenarian
The Times
Wednesday March 05 2025, 6.53pm GMT, The Times
REHA BENNICASA
When all is said and done, it was Rose Girone’s knitting that helped her to become the world’s oldest Holocaust survivor. It was her knitting that enabled her to keep her destitute family alive in Shanghai after they fled the Nazis in 1939. It was her knitting that gave her a way of smuggling her paltry savings to the United States after the war. It was her knitting that earned her a decent living in the decades that followed.
Knitting and, perhaps, her remarkable outlook on life. She was fond of sayings. “Nothing is so very bad that something good shouldn’t come out of it,” she liked to observe. And: “Always have a purpose in life.” And, most surprisingly, given her history: “Aren’t we lucky?”.
She also attributed her longevity to eating lots of dark chocolate, and perhaps she was right. By the time of her death at the age of 113 the supercentenarian was not only the oldest known Holocaust survivor, she was also thought to be the oldest resident of New York City, the fifth oldest person in America and the 28th oldest in the world. “When God made her, they broke the mould,” her daughter, Reha Bennicasa, said.
Nah, can’t be so. US Social Security is paying pensions to several million people older than her.

I can’t see that condition in the judgment.
24A831 Order 2 | DocumentCloud
Roberts and Amy Coney Bitch don’t mention it and the dissent says this:
The District Court ordered the Government to “pay all invoices and letter of credit drawdown requests on all contracts” for pre-TRO work completed. App. to Application to Vacate Order 86a. That order encompasses more than just respondents, and the District Court offered no reason why universal relief to nonparties is appropriate here. And this is not the sort of case in which only universal relief is feasible.
Roberts and amy coney bitch do however say this:
the District Court should clarify what obligations the Government must fulfill to ensure compliance with the temporary restraining order, with due regard for the feasibility of any compliance timelines.
Maybe they want the muzzie judge who issued the restraining order against the gov’t’s non-payment to overstep even more than he has already done.
I can’t see that condition in the judgment.
It isn’t.
That was the take from two people from the Federalist I follow.
Throughout today they reference the district court judges amendment he made to his rulings.
We’re talking Ali aren’t we?
Yeah, I haven’t seen the bastard’s amendment.
The problem is all this shit expenditure and boondoggling was done under the auspices of the corpse’s government and has therefore the imprimatur of base law. The judges, apart from being never Trumpers, have that huge authority to hide behind.

Just pausing to reflect:
Somewhere right now in SEQ waters, there is a 16-foot Hartley bobbing up and down, pining for a firm hand on the tiller.
I believe it was brought cheaply.
Bwah ha ha ha.
I loved that boat.
With a dolphin in it.

Had dinner with some Jewish friends last night. They said they know a large number of Jewish people who are contemplating leaving Australia for the US or Israel. Some of them are enticed by Trump’s idea of a golden visa. I was actually quite astonished to hear this.
I’ve been talking about it too. I’m thinking Israel, but Argentina looks okay too.
Here’s an insight into how bad things are and what Jews are thinking, when the Bankstown Homicidal nurse story broke, you all know that story, when those two Muslim ‘amigos’ openly and unashamedly bragged about how not only do they want to kill Jews, they had already killed Jews, for days afterwards my elderly nonagenarian father, who’s a little mentally and physically fragile and who lives interstate, was ringing every day telling me never to go to Bankstown Hospital! I kept on reassuring him that such a scenario was unlikely to happen but he would not be reassured. He then told me he doesn’t want to go to any public hospital anywhere in this country. You know what? He has a point. My father has long been a little like the character Uncle Leo from Seinfeld, he’s always thought almost everyone is an anti-Semite and we long laughed at him but I’m beginning to think he might be right. We Jews are a neurotic lot and the last eighteen months has unhinged us!
A month ago I attended Ro Knox’s campaign launch in Wentworth. She’s the Liberal candidate for Wentworth. I can assure you that almost everybody in attendance was ‘tribe’ aka Jewish.
Last year one of my favourite American Jewish writers, Brett Stephens, accurately wrote about how we Jews are back living in the reality of Jewish history. Since 1945, across the West, we Jews had it pretty good. Those days are now ended, finito, kaput. If they’re coming to kill me, at least in Israel I have an army willing to defend me.
Please note that nobody has been charged for the Ripponlea synagogue attack, few have been charged for the numerous torchings, graffiti, threats and so on. And what about that caravan full of explosives found in Dural, explosives destined to be used against my synagogue and the Sydney Jewish museum? Note the silence?
This country is not the country I grew up in, and that was obvious to me on Monday night, 9 October 2023.
It’s good to see the Jewish residents in Wentworth supporting Ro Knox.
I keep getting polled, which I suspect means that the Liberals have a good chance of winning in Wentworth.
Just watching Spender on Kenny “explaining” her new and improved position on UNWRA, and other electoral issues.

Man with gun arrested after attempting to board Jetstar flight JQ 610 at Avalon Airport in Victoria | PerthNow
I have questions.
Like security type questions.
He was dressed as an airport worker until another passenger spotted the gun and put him into a headlock.
WTAF are these people!!!???
Which begs the obvious question, how did he get past security with a gun and out to a plane?
Assistance. Or negligence.
Take your pick.
This is fuking huge news. It’s not if but when and the muzzies favour the biggest bang for buck which means planes and cars through crowds.
doesn’t mean he’s not a muesli but he looked white bread boy.
He doesn’t look like a typical Muesli.
Big perimeter fence.
How good is it?
The south side doesn’t quite open on to the bay, but it is largely open farmland to the south and west.
It wouldn’t be too hard to cut the fence and get onto the airport.
But it is pretty slack that he could just wander up to a parked jet.
Funny thing is that in a few weeks time the place will be crawling with people at the airshow.
Wouldn’t be hard to plant something on site for later.
It really doesn’t matter if he’s a muesli or not. It means that the airport is not secure.
My adventures at Heathrow last year gleaned an admission from both airport security and Met Plod – you’d be surprised what gets airside.
pre 9/11 i was doing a escort to France with a detainee.
At degaulle airport they told me flat out there were at least a dozen people a day who never exited via customs.
Leaky places airports.
China’s latest nuclear attack subs are not a joke anymore.
China built 7 in the last 2 years and the LNP was crowing about 3 in 20 years. Shizz … . China is also building new blue water destroyers very quickly that are very capable. Whoever came up with the 1.7% figure needs a new calculator.
At last a concert in Australia with no welcome to country BS
Went to the Chinese Symphony Orchestra Choir recital last night in Melbourne, with many Australian Chinese who were all in very good spirit.
Sure, a number of patriotic songs from “the good old days” of the pre communist era, including the Yellow River Cantata, but all happily received since the choir is so good. They also sang Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from Nambucca, a choral favourite and and parts of Carmina Burana.
The second encore, the choir sang a rollicking version of Waltzing Matilda .. the place erupted in cheering and applause. The choir all knew they were on a winner and belted it out.
It started on such a high when they went straight into it without the unpleasant and spiteful welcome to country.
It’s been a long time since I went to a concert in Australia with the BS welcome rubbish .. long may it continue
And what about that caravan full of explosives found in Dural, explosives destined to be used against my synagogue and the Sydney Jewish museum
If you follow Hairy Festerpenis on x you would know it was… dundundun… Mossad!!!
The caravan is an odd bird.
The explosives were very old powergel, of an age where their explosive reliability would be very questionable.
The note inside – weird.
The people picked up and charged are 99% useless scabs, paid by someone to basically be the patsy/mongs doing the legwork.
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-01-30/dural-caravan-powergel-explosives-antisemitic-attack-sydney/104876258
Not downplaying the threat of violence, but the van wasnt ever a serious operation even if they got a few detonators. This doesnt imply the assholes involved knew that though.
Their ABCcess showing its work experience kid can use AI to generate wrongness here…
It’s an emulsion-based explosive with a consistency of aioli that contains ammonium nitrate and becomes active when mixed with oil.
Powergel is pre packaged explosive, everything you need to go bang but the detonator.
I found some stashed many, many years ago at an operation that was being reopened – worried me till the manager came out and had a look and explained it was about as explosive as sawdust due to its age.
To get rid of it – set it on fire.
Cyclone Alfred is Albo’s best friend.
His mates in the news media have spent the past 48 hours getting hysterical about the weather, but, like most tropical storms so far south, Alfred will turn into a dreadful disappointment.
So Albo will ride the public wave of relief to announce an April federal election date on Monday or Tuesday in the wake of WA Labor’s decimation of the Stupid Frigging Liberals clowncar opposition this Saturday.
Go Albo. Monty reckons you and Adam will s**t it in.
Not sureFederal Liars should breathe too easily after the WA State poll.
Did they sing The Internationale?
The MegaCyclone infesting southern Queensland:
It must be getting toward the catastrophic end of the scale – Longreach Airport – according to the BoM radar – has turned off their sprinklers!
The countdown to TC Alfred.
I have been stepping the time cursor through the Windy.com ECMWF prediction. For the south side of Brisbane the wind speed never goes over 50km/h during Alfred’s whole approach. The model has a slow region where Alfred’s arms contact the coast, which is weird because (eg on Friday night) just a few km offshore the wind is 80km/h.
If this can be believed the previous BOM reports of 120km/h were a major overestimate. It’ll be 80km/h at the most.
Current prediction is to cross the coast at South Stradbroke island at 5am Saturday.
There was a gust at Moreton Bay of 98kms at 1030am.
Might be the “best” of it but, no doubt, plenty o’ rain…
…even the rain that falls….
February was a very dry month here but I’ve not put the sprinkler (tank water) on the lawn on account of the BOM’s promise of 100mm or so.
I shall be very disappointed if they fail to deliver! 😀
Nothing surer, I reckon.

Late last year, a Muslim in Sydney threatened to behead Yoseph Haddad. Yoseph is a proud Israeli and an Arab.

A week is a long time in politics.
As ever, I was puddling around on the old thread this morning, forgetting it was Thursday. Life’s too busy to concentrate right now.
Anyway, I did put this observation up in response to the indigenous claims over Mt. Panorama. Don’t know if others agree. The place has memories for me and for many others.
My father nearly died on Mt. Panorama in the 50’s. He raced cars there as a founding member of the Australian Racing Drivers Club.
I recall my mother in hysterics as he came down Conrod Strait at more than 100mph and his brakes failed. He went shooting down the escape road, piling up his vehicle in a massive wheelie at the end of it. Emerged bruised and burned; his call from the Grim Reaper was very close indeed. Other men have lost their lives there. Perhaps we should memorialise them instead of relying on a few scattered aboriginal ashes.
It seems it’s all a political beat up, Lizzie.
No indigenous title claim has been made.
At least that’s what the relevant government department told a journalist who decided to check.
“a few scattered aboriginal ashes” – that’s funny, when was cremation part of traditional Aboriginal culture?
This interview with Hannity is about Ukraine but Trump’s latest message to Hamas is also covered.
