Correct…..apart from Monty, the unlamented Numbers, and Grigs in any of his guises, I’m not aware of anyone defending Dan. I do admit to long defending Gladys….but no longer…however given the choice between Dan and Glad…I still choose Glad.
I should also add that I don’t think Glad’s heart has ever been behind these lockdowns but this has proven to me that all governments have now ceded power to health bureaucrats…..which is chilling.

My understanding is that patients are kept in the ambulances because there is no room in the hospital yet, and the ambulance staff cannot leave until their charge has been transported into the hospital.
I have a sister who was, for a brief period, working in the ambulance dispatching world and this is what she told me.
But what really infuriated them was people would call complaining of heart troubles or feeling faint, who had ambulances dispatched and given cursory assessment, bundled into the back of the ambulance and transported to hospital only to step out the back once there and shoot off to the shops or wherever. These were welfare people who didn’t have to pay for the ride. They may well have felt they were entitled to it.
Perhaps we should give ussr the benefit of the doubt and assume she meant in this country and mainly in Disasterstan.
In the meantime, that wonderful news about the gliberals down there changing their leader has made my week. Disasterstan Dan must be quaking in his jackboots.

It’s a term used to describe ambulances waiting in a queue outside a hospital as the hospital has no staff or beds etc. available to accept new patients. It’s been a problem for many years in all states.
I used to love these, but had to get rid of my collection when we first moved to Brisbane.
These used to (30+ years ago) have whole shelves assigned to them in 2nd book shops. Getting hard to find now

Here in WA, many frontline medical staff were sent home or otherwise put on leave when the C00f struck, as their wards and ‘non-critical’ in- amd outpatient services were closed until firther notice.
And many other States’ nurses and docs (even in ICUs) suddenly found the time and space to Tiktok dance in full PPE amongst what seemed to be mostly empty wards.
That the enormity of their oversupply of unusable equipment like ventilators (due to lack of applicable training and governmental faddishness in crash-supplying them early last year) and inability to actually care for the usual ICU loads on top of projected admissions from C00f, is only appearing on the public’s radar now suggests that the Health Services well and truly need to be cored out and started again.
The morale and functioning of the many terribly decent people who (like I once did- Bless that precocious and wildly naïve young Rexy…) enter the Health system to try and help people, demand nothing less
Lockdowns have not and will not save our Health systems from collapse. They have merely fully exposed what we all long knew but agreed with our Political class to ignore-The buckets and buckets of taxpayer funds going into our Health system only make for rich bureaucrats. Not healthy, healed or well people. Nor organisations that can deliver on these quite reasonable expectations.
Another wasted opportunity amongst the sugar rush of virtue signalling about lodckdowns, cry-wanking over case numbers and threats about the ‘UnClean’ who are more interested in cures and prophylaxis to actually keep us out of hospital, than a (seemingly) increasingly impotent poke that makes more money for its makers than prevents the hospitalisations it claims on its box…

The amount of times that anyone voicing their concerns about these vaccines is depicted as being unhinged or misinformed far outweigh the genuine reverse claims that the vaccines have not been properly tested to ensure their efficacy and safety.
As with “climate change denier” language, lumping together anyone who does not accept the right-thinking line on the ‘rona vaccines with the “unhinged anti-vaxxers” misconstrues their position and seeks to undermine the rights of free citizens to make their own choices, as well as playing into the hands of the left, which always seeks to disrupt and divide.
I’m not suggesting that you are doing that. But connecting the two groups in one sentence could lead to the idea that there is a connection.

JC, The US universities and Australian ones and I guess most of those in the western world are just credential mills, they have stacks of soft useless subjects to ensure they can get plenty of females, no demands on the intellect and sell credentials so these useless people can get useless jobs with big business or government. The complete shutdown of the system is the only solution. Let some new institutions arise that will educate people in hard sciences and a small but rigorous section that does english subjects and that’s it. Chuck the rest out. There will be enough fee paying students and scholarships for the talented and the rest of the bludgers can find real jobs.
