“Unlike you, I’m not a racist.

The content of your displayed character says you are, and that you care diddly squat for the future of children, including Jewish children when they are the grand children of someone you hate, such as my Jewish grandchildren.”

No…I am not a racist and I think it’s high time you took a break from this site and calmed down. I note that you haven’t answered my question. Clearly Adam’s booted you and good on him for doing so.

Nobody with Jewish relatives would write such disgraceful tripe as you have written above. I tell who does have Jewish grandchildren and that’s Calli. She knows more about Jews, Judaism and Israel than you.

In Engineering Science I managed to more than double my English mark in the HSC.
Despite being a voracious reader, even of Nappy Era stuff (eg. Alexander Kent).
Put it down to my opinion of what English is differing slightly from the markers’ opinions.
A harbinger. High school now would be torture, I’m very glad I’m not a kid today.

I could never make sense of “Romeo and Juliet” until the literature teacher showed the Zeferilli film production.

Rones, I don’t believe Juliet cuckolded Romeo if that’s what confused you about the play.

Trafalgar is an excellent polling firm. However, if they’re showing Whittmar down by 6 points, it will mean the Demons will have to cheat by at least 7 points so she wins narrowly. Trafalgar helps the Demons figure out how much to cheat by.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) trails former Detroit Police Chief James Craig by 6 points in a hypothetical general election match-up, according to a poll released this week.

The survey from the GOP-leaning Trafalgar Group shows Craig, a Republican, leading Whitmer 50.4 percent to 44.4 percent among likely general election voters. Another 5.2 percent of respondents remain undecided.

Public Health is an internationalist class and profession that take their guidance on how to operate from the WHO, etc.

They spent 11 years coming up with ‘pandemic response manuals’ and roadmaps, etc, after Swine Flu 2009, these have schedules and milestones and markers that they are all working to together. They contain action plans for dealing with media, implementing lockdowns, passports, ‘surveillance’, uprisings, etc.

They are technocratic utopians who believe they can usher in a new world of zero infectious disease ‘outbreaks’, all it takes is people to give up their silly sentimental ideas of privacy and freedom, they are for health passports and mass tracking.

Politicians are obvious, power is power and they are being guided and enabled by the ‘public health’ classes. They are for a government licence for you to leave your house and a transition to a social credit based society. China’s investments in our academic and political classes over the last decade are yielding results.

Global capital dreams of a world that is ordered on the Amazon model, of people-as-livestock and as interchangeable units with dreams of totalitarian society where you sit around doing nothing much but grazing on your manufactured prole food, watching Netflix and buying trinkets between shifts at the local distribution centre. They invented the vast intimate tracking / ‘passport’ systems for use in their factories and warehouses.

Their dreams for the future all overlap, you as an individual getting to live your life your way like you used to don’t make it.

I suspect there is also a strong push as the spike protein was likely to be reused in other chinese bioweaponage. It’s the spike protein which is the key that unlocks access to the cell and replication. Chicoms will need to use a completely different spike protein in its bioweapons now.

BoN how can you not like Dickens? He’s funny, perceptive and plain great. His plots are rather thin, George Orwell described him as (I think) ‘Great gargoyles and lousy architecture’ but could describe people that anyone would still recognise today. I had to do Shakespeare in school too. I had reasonably good teachers, we did Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet and Julius Ceasar, hated every minute of them. I just can’t get past the language, Tolstoy hated Shakespeare and I agree, dunno how anyone can get pleasure out of him.
One exception, the St Crispins Day speech, it’s perfect.

Never got to the end of a Dickens novel, I’m afraid. I like my prose crisp and clear. Plus, the plots are tortured to death because they are just soap operas in weekly installments, but with fancier prose.

Victorian novels are not really my thing – terribly over-written and pretentious as a rule.

The period immediately before or after is much more my style.

I just find Dickens boring and tedious. I hated Catcher in the Rye too. At the same time I was doing their stuff in English I was reading Clavell’s Shogun for pleasure. Marvelous story. In Year 10 I had an English teacher who happened to like SF, so when he set us a short story to write I did so, getting 100%.

Which is why English is such a dead loss as a subject these days. Even then it was all about the teachers’ union’s likes and dislikes, not about the language and literature. And now it’s meaningless woke rubbish.

Dickens was written in episodes for publication as such. The cavalcade of characters, not much happening in each chapter, the story proceeding at glacial pace, cliff hangers – Perils of Penelope without the lass being tied to the tracks.

I watched Leo McKern deliver that speech quoted up thread – he made a fine King Lear. Timothy Dalton (sigh) played Edgar. Royal Shakespeare Company came to Sydney and my English class went to watch. The year before, the Bell Shakespeare Company put on Macbeth at a theatre-in-the-round, just like the Globe – John Bell and Anna Volska. The class was right at the front amongst the action! Sword fights and all.

I was sold on Shakespeare! 😀

Does the government think that the risk of the huge fines for serving an unvaccinated person will be enough to control everyone?

I’m a bit lost here. As I understand it, the government acknowledges that it does not have the power to mandate vaccines and is pressuring businesses to do it’s dirty work for it. However, if the vaccines cannot be made mandatory, then how on earth can they then fine businesses for not insisting on proof of it? Tens of thousands of businesses have already said that they would not discriminate between customers. They should ALL say that it’s none of their business whether someone has been vaccinated or not.

Indonesia greenlights $30bn Aussie plan to power Singapore

GEOFF CHAMBERS

Indonesia has approved the route of Sun Cable’s Australia-Asia PowerLink through its territorial waters, allowing one of the world’s largest solar farms in the Northern Territory to provide up to 15 per cent of Singapore’s electricity needs from 2028.

In a major coup for the $30bn Australian project, which is backed by Scott Morrison, Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan on Thursday announced he had recommended the route of the transmission cables through Indonesian waters.

The Indonesian government has also approved the subsea survey permit and welcomed Sun Cable’s investment in the country, which will support local jobs and manufacturing during construction and operation.

The Sun Cable project at Elliott, which is estimated to deliver carbon emissions abatement of around 8.6 million tonnes per year, will help power Darwin and Singapore. It includes the world’s largest battery and a 4200km undersea high voltage direct current cable system from Darwin to Singapore, the longest in the world.

During his visit to Singapore in June, Mr Morrison directly raised the Sun Cable project with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, which he said could “see homes powered here … from solar panels in Australia”.

The project, backed by billionaire investors Mike Cannon-Brookes and Andrew Forrest, is expected to be promoted by Australia ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in November to illustrate the importance of ASEAN partnerships in reducing emissions in the Indo-Pacific region. The Australian understands similar projects in Northern Australia connecting with other nations in the region are likely in coming years.

Trade Minister Dan Tehan will head to Jakarta next Tuesday to discuss advancement of the Indonesian manufacturing sector.

The Sun Cable decision comes after the Prime Minister last week announced Australia would build a fleet of nuclear submarines. Mr Morrison spoke with Indonesian President Joko Widodo this week to assure him Australia would maintain its obligations under the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and that the AUKUS military pact would support stability in the Indo-Pacific.

The AAPowerLink, expected to reduce Singapore’s emissions by 6 million tonnes per year and help the country meet its 2030 targets, was a prominent addition in Australia’s infrastructure priority list released in February.

The project will support more than $8bn of direct investment and generate up to $2bn in exports per year, creating more than 1500 jobs during construction, 350 operational jobs and 12,000 indirect jobs. It will start supplying energy to Darwin in 2026 and Singapore from 2027.

Sun Cable chief executive David Griffin said “we want this world-leading project to create a step-change in the Indo-Pacific’s capability to achieve net zero ambitions and economic growth sustained by renewable energy”.

Sun Cable will work with Indonesian authorities during and following construction of the AAPowerLink. They have already engaged Indonesian firms during the planning, engineering and survey phase and would help the country develop its own battery manufacturing industry.

Sun Cable will also base its maritime repair and maintenance base in Indonesia, featuring one of the world’s largest cable laying vessels.

Mr Cannon-Brookes, the Atlassian co-founder and chief executive, said Australia could become a “renewable energy superpower”.

“We can and should tap into our solar resources that could power the world five times over,” Mr Cannon-Brookes said.

Mr Forrest said decarbonising the planet was “a challenge all people and all nations must rise to”.

“But it is action, not words that are required. I commend Minister Luhut’s leadership, strong action towards this goal,” he said.

Australia’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Penny Williams, praised the Indonesian government for its support and said “Australia believes in a technology-driven approach to combating climate change”.

Parliament’s independent complaints process launches

Adeshola Ore
Reporter
@AdesholaOre
An hour ago September 23, 2021

An independent complaints body to investigate allegations of sexual assault, harassment and bullying in Australia’s parliament has launched, as part of a raft of historic reforms.

The complaints mechanism was a key recommendation from an internal report — conducted by one of Scott Morrison’s most senior officials – released in July that aimed to clean up parliament’s workplace complaints procedure.

The review was launched in the wake of former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins’ rape allegation. Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet deputy secretary Stephanie Foster’s report also recommended anti-harassment training for MPs and their staff.

Finance Minister Simon Birmingham, who led the government’s consultation on Ms Foster’s report, said the new Parliamentary Workplace Support Service would be overseen by Parliamentary Service Commissioner Peter Woolcott to ensure it was an independent and confidential service.

“Every single Australian has a right to feel and to be safe in their workplace, and our national parliament should set an example and reflect best practice in the prevention and handling of bullying, sexual harassment and sexual assault,” he said.

The complaints mechanism will have the scope to investigate alleged incidents that occurred in the current parliamentary term. It will provide support and advice to MPs and staff impacted by serious incidents like assault, harassment or bullying.

The body, which will be staffed 24 hours a day by trained counsellors, will also help facilitate police referrals when necessary, appoint independent experts to review complaints and receive reports of allegations.

It will be available to MPs and staff who work in any federal parliament workplace, including Parliament House and electoral offices.

Labor and the Greens had previously called for the body to be able to investigate incidents that occurred outside the current parliamentary term because it can often take survivors many years to speak about an alleged assault.

I think BoN or somebody else here wrote an analysis of the Sun Cable project a while back demonstrating that it is complete nonsense. Also, I seem to remember reading that they decided that the solar option was indeed unviable and were now looking at an ammonium plant or something similar. Oh, and hydrogen.

It’s all pie in the sky to the max. The sheer logistics make it fantastically expensive to build and maintain, and right through cyclone territory too.

It will be a nice little earner for well paid executives till it goes tits up, I expect.

Helen, like Cassie, I prefer the AZ jab. It is slightly more like an ordinary vaccine in carriage of the RNA prompt than the Pfizer, even though still an RNA one. Blood clots are the main issue with it, from what I can see looking at the reporting data. Other things seem very infrequent and likely not overall related (perhaps idiosyncratic responses). One in a million will die from AZ currently due to ‘thrombosis with thrombocytopaenia’, a known rare blood ‘clotting and bleeding’ condition that occurs in the population at higher rates than this when people are given the blood thinner Heparin, which is widely used in hospitals (I had Heparin during my recent major abdominal operation). It seems that about eight in a million might get some level of clotting with the AZ vaxx, which is becoming much more understood and highly treatable, often relatively mild. Pfizer seems to have more inflammatory problems causing cardiac and neurological issues, and also causes blod clots. I am thus glad my 18 year old grandson had the AZ rather than the Pfizer. He’s had no problems, no side effects at all. My 37 year old son has had no problems with the AZ and same, no side effects.

I have had the AZ (comorbidities a previous DVT clot and high blood pressure) and so has Hairy (comorbidities severe DVT’s in both legs, heart stent, severe cellulitis of the legs, high blood pressure, prostate cancer in remission). We have both been fine, only issue was tiredness the day after the first jab and a sore arm, nothing at all after the second jab for either of us.

My girlfriend in Tassie has heart problems and had no reaction at all to both jabs. Many of my friends from my dance class, in their 60’s to 80’s, have had the AZ early on, only one of about fifty who attend has had a bad reaction, she felt unwell for a week. Everyone else sailed through it.

None of the people above are obviously overweight and all do exercise and eat well.

Hope this help with your mum. You can have the second jab of AZ after 8 weeks without problems. My neighbour, overweight and with heart issues, waited 7 weeks between. Hairy and I waited for ten. Some get AZ now at around 5 weeks, too early I think. Pfizer is being given with only 3 weeks between, but I think that is a little premature, 8 was originally the recommendation, now it’s four. A shorter space between jabs doesn’t seem to be a medical problem, more an issue of degree of immunity conferred.

I think it’s disgraceful that she has to be forced into this decision. If she doesn’t want it, why should she have it, as long as she realises Covid might take her away far more readily than someone younger.
Her choice.

So does that apply to Kathy Sheriff? Probably not. Instead I suspect it means “it can often take survivors many years to make up fabrications, fantasies and lines about an “alleged assault”…so that certain progressives can use it for ideological purposes.

Now, let me be clear.
Spitting on people is like doxxing.
A dog’s act.
But it seems that every time the Hunchback is in the shit, a diversionary story pops up about someone being spat on in a testing centre or vax centre.
Nein news led with one tonight.
But they are always vague about the exact details, something like this:-

“The incident occurred at a centre in the South East suburbs. The victim, a woman in her 40’s from Melbourne’s East, was too distressed to speak to the media”.

Hunchback added the tell-tale disclaimer which screams “I’m lying” during his presser.
Disgusting, blah, blah, blah, low act, blah, blah, blah … “or so I’ve heard”.

Looks as though both of my sons from my first marriage are having Pfizer. One is double-jabbed already and the other ditched his AZ appointment in favour of Pfizer which was offered only a day later (his choice), so he had it today. Have to ring and see how he went. He’s been dragging his feet on any vaxx, and I have said it is entirely up to him what he does. But now there is a heap of Covid in Redfern public housing areas around where he lives, so he’s moved on it.

My eldest son, who has had some sort of autistic condition all of his life, is forty-nine years old today. He usually comes over here with his two kids and his current non-live-in partner but of course can’t because she is a true believer leftie and wears her mask in the bath I am sure. 🙂

Forty-nine years ago tonight I was in terrible agony having been in labour for a day already, clinging to the end of an iron hospital bed rigid with excruciating pain. Forceps in the end, and one of the early epidurals for the last two hours, a relief, but left me with a crucifying headache. They don’t use that sort now. These days it would have been a caesarian yesterday. When I think of the state of women in Afghanistan, where there is no midwifery and almost half die in childbirth in the outer villages, my heart bleeds for them, and for all women of past ages who suffered from mother nature’s evolutionary curse of a head that pushes the human pelvis to its limits, constrained as it is to be narrow due to our upright stance.

Firstborn son’s partner and mother of his autistic child is now just fifty and had the AZ earlier this year. A day of tiredness after the first jab, and no other side effects. I am really worried that she might want my eleven year old grandson to get a Pfizer jab early next year when he turns twelve; will send her some information if it comes to that,I’ve butted out with everyone else, but when it comes to a child …. Bad enough for the 18 year old to go ahead, imho, but he at least was old enough to make his own choice. His mother, my firstborn’s first partner, has schizophrenia, and has just had two Pfizer jabs very close together. She’s had no ill effects. She still cackles like Kamala. 🙂

Oversight for Bunter Hiden-Piccaso’s artwork sale?

Who Wants to Buy Hunter Biden’s Art?
The Congressman asking that question isn’t getting a response.

President Biden owes the public an explanation of the plan for Hunter Biden’s secret art sales, because Congress isn’t getting any answers. This summer a New York gallerist, Georges Bergès, said he would hold two private exhibitions, starting in September, to market Hunter’s paintings for between $75,000 and $500,000 each.

Mr. Bergès will soon receive a second letter from Rep. James Comer, the top Republican on the House Oversight Committee, who wants to see the ethics rules worked out by the White House. Buyers of the artwork are supposed to be kept confidential, even from Hunter. “We won’t know who they are,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said, “so there’s no scenario where they could provide influence.”

The gallery is also supposed to reject abnormal bids. “In other words,” Mr. Comer’s new letter to Mr. Bergès says, “you will be the only person responsible for rooting out potential sophisticated, foreign disruptive agents’ access to the White House. That is unacceptable.”

As part of Congress’s oversight, Mr. Comer is seeking copies of “the ethics guidelines, created in conjunction with the White House,” as well as “documents and communications pertaining to setting the prices for Mr. Biden’s art.” He also wants to know who’s buying paintings and attending the showings, if and when they happen. But the odds of a reply are low, since the GOP lacks subpoena power. Mr. Comer made similar requests in a Sept. 7 letter, which went unanswered.

Democrats don’t appear eager to poke into Hunter’s secret art sales. Yet the questions aren’t idle. Who might be quietly preparing $500,000 for Hunter’s bank account? How is the gallery scrutinizing bids? Will the anonymity be kept? What if Russia starts spreading disinformation about who bought what, and for how much?

If President Biden continues to refuse calls for transparency, then the earliest opportunity for a full accounting might be in 2023, which is assuming Republicans take the House back. That provides plenty of time for mischief.

On an art podcast in July, Hunter was asked to respond to critics who are “coming after the prices of the work.” His reply was pithy and entirely in character: “Other than f— ’em?”

Mr. Biden owes the public more, but then Hunter always seems to get a pass from his Dad the President.

Top lawyer slams police ‘sling tackle’ at Flinders Street Station

A prominent Melbourne lawyer has slammed footage showing a police officer “sling tackle” a man into the ground at Flinders Street Station, saying the victim posed no threat.

Confronting footage of a heavy-handed police arrest at Flinders St station will be investigated by Victoria Police’s professional standards command.

A confrontation in which a man is slammed onto the floor of Flinders St railway station has been criticised by a prominent Melbourne lawyer.

Jeremy King, who specialises in representing clients in police misconduct cases, said he was shocked by footage in which the man is grabbed from behind and thrown onto the tiles.

The matter is now the subject of an internal Victoria Police investigation after being posted online.

Before he is taken from behind in what Mr King described as a “sling tackle”, the man is talking to other police who appear to be relaxed.

“The officer he’s talking to isn’t doing anything. That indicates to me that he can’t really have been posing a threat,” Mr King said.

“That footage was sickening. That sort of conduct is really dangerous,” Mr King said.

Call me naive, but I find it hard to imagine that a group who innocently sang “We are Australian” would desecrate a war memorial. Many of them have probably made the pilgrimage to Gallipoli, or would if they could.

Sounds like disinformation.

But for argument’s sake, if some did, it doesn’t discredit the majority, who were as peaceful and orderly as civilly disobedient people could be expected to be under the circumstances (and probably not carrying a lot of supplies by that stage of the day).

I can’t speak to the technical aspects of a 4200 KM undersea electrical cable running through unsecured waters, both state and international, but the security aspects are glaringly obvious. In short, it would be horribly vulnerable, cannot possibly be defended, and will become an incredibly expensive self-inflicted wound which will suck up scarce national defense assets and attention for no discernible value except to the investors – who will of course have to be bailed out with state funds.

Meanwhile Singapore, one of the most important commercial ports in the world, will be dark.

Michael Smith News is running with the story of a group of old soldiers and ancient warriors, who went down to clean “Alcohol cans, bottles, food, clothing and all matter of rubbish” off the site of the Shrine.

Having the undersea power cable in place though would be advantageous to someone setting up a nuclear generator in Darwin to provide reliable 24/7 power to Singapore, Darwin and perhaps Jakarta too. Transmission losses would be high though over that distance, and I don’t know if it’s feasible to run a cable over continental shelves.

Power losses would be colossal, and the lack of redundancy would mean that any failure would take the link offline for 6 months or more ala Basslink.

It’s only value is as a subsidy magnet from the Australian Climate Fund. This is its true purpose. Singapore is not providing funding, they will buy the electricity , but sensibly are not contributing to the capital costs.

If in fact the cops were using beanbag rounds they look like this.

They are essentially a shotgun rounds with 2 small bags in them rather than metal balls (shot).

So, unless the police cleaned up after themselves there would be both the expended shotgun shells and the bags littering the area.

In April this year they limited numbers at the Shrine to, I think, 1,500.
Later in the afternoon, and less than two kilometres away, 78,000 people sat cheek-by-jowl and watched Collingwood cast in the role of the Anzacs, with Essendon reprising the feats of the Turkish machine-gunners.

Call me naive, but I find it hard to imagine that a group who innocently sang “We are Australian” would desecrate a war memorial.

Was watching the live feeds and when the “protesters” marched up the hill there was a chant of “Lest we Forget”… and before they were shot at and forced off the monument, there was a shot of garbage bags of rubbish collected. And Rukshan actually commented on it.

As to pissing on the monument… I doubt that. Though I think it is almost certain that individuals would have received themselves nearby. On the monument … they would have been screamed down by the others all over it.

Tim Quilty was the only voice to speak up in Parliament for freedoms

“My adjournment matter is for the minister for police over the previous few weeks. VicPol officers have used horses. This overrun demonstrators and OC foam to blind and subdue them. Officers armed themselves with rifles and donned body armour. They fired on protesters with less-lethal rounds and physically assaulted pro-freedom demonstrators. In each case, police came to arrest demonstrators and to subdue political opposition. Police surrounded the demonstrators and violently attacked people who tried to escape. This tactic is used because it makes it appear as though demonstrators are initiating violence, despite police being the cause of the violence at these protests.
{…}
The Liberal Democrats support peaceful protest, civil disobedience and resistance to tyranny. We oppose these lockdowns. Minister, the action I am calling for is an unequivocal commitment that police will no longer be used to attack crowds of Victorians exercising their rights.

Call Me Ishmael (The Remnant Responds to Francis’ Latest Attack on Faithful Catholics)

“This month, the Vatican announced it would require vaccine passports for anyone wishing to visit the city-state at the heart of Rome. (https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/249038/vatican-requires-vaccine-pass-for-visitors-employees)

Rome has reverted to her old ways, preferring the tribute of the world and the slavery of money and influence to the work of Christ going out to bring good news to those living in darkness.

The pope prostitutes himself out as chaplain to the globalists who designed the pandemic which has been gasoline to the wildfire of world revolution.

The Church has been turned into an East German bureaucracy. The name of Rome is no longer welcome, but political conformity.

The pope is antichrist. Think about it, ask yourself whether what I say is true. “Get behind Me, Satan!” has become, “How may I be of service, Dark Prince?”

Is it hyperbole? Francis dictates that all who pass through the colonnades of St. Peter’s be marked with the beast and boast of it with vaccine paperwork. The connection between Francis’ vaccine mandates (to say nothing of Biden’s) and the globalists over whom Francis presides is undeniable.

If you don’t think that the Vatican is insisting you get the vaccine so that Bergoglio can appease Pachamama, then you haven’t been paying attention.”

Elliott, who died at the age of 79, was a relic of another time. He didn’t say “pig’s arse”, as he was parodied, but his aura of casual contempt could explain the assumption that he had.

Elliott swilled red wine and pinched bottoms. He was imbued with a prehistoric air of entitlement and a desire for a laugh. The Australian antihero, it was once said, Elliott was admired and abhorred for his “greed is great” persona.

Yet he was a complicated study, a thesaurus’ best friend. He bludgeoned, bullied and brutalised as an engine of many parts who always strived for another deal and another buck.

The chances of cable failure are enhanced by the huge voltage needed to drive current through 4,000km of conductor.

Plus the fact that the cable has to cross the seismically active boundary where the Australian plate is crushing into the Eurasian plate. The Sun Cable map has the cable snaking through south of Kupang – crossing the Banda Arc, one of the World’s major earthquake hot spots.

Singapore is taking no capital risk on the project. And, unless the Singaporeans are being thoroughly wood ducked, they will have massive compensation clauses in the PPA in the event of failure to supply.

Probably Cannon-Brookes won’t have the Australian Wood ducks taxpayers on the hook for that.

Luckily there’s jobs in laying and repairing the cable.
