The Auditor-General has found the ABC did not have documented advice or policies to support its decision to pay star reporter Louise Milligan’s $200,000 in legal costs after she was sued by federal Liberal MP Andrew Laming over a series of tweets where she incorrectly accused Mr Laming of “upskirting”.

I am trying to compartmentalise the issues.
That is, trying to frame the decision around the vax purely on health grounds, which for me is leaning towards a “yes”.
The other issues (mandating for employment, vaxing kids, passports etc) I am firmly against, and have to find a way of pushing back against those as best I can.

Of course they didn’t.
In fact, their own statements are all over the shop.
When the likes of Milligan go off reservation on Twatter, they say “Nothing to do with us. Personal account”.
Then when she gets sued for the same post, suddenly it belongs to the ABC.

Israeli assassin shot dead one of our top agents, claims Syria

Israel has been accused of assassinating a Syrian intelligence officer in the Golan Heights as part of its strategy of preventing Iran gaining a foothold there.

An Israeli sniper shot Midhat as-Saleh, a Syrian former MP, with “treacherous bullets,” the Syrian government said.

Israel made no official comment on the killing, but it is trying to stop Iran and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah from establishing a permanent base on the Golan border region.

An Israeli defence official said that Saleh had been working with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards to establish the military infrastructure needed for an attack against Israel. Saleh, 54, served 12 years in an Israeli prison for deploying mines and explosives with the intention of killing Israeli civilians and soldiers. He was born in the Druze town of Majdal Shams in the year it was occupied during the Six Day war and was convicted of terrorism offences in 1985.

In 1997, after his release, he fled to Syria and was elected to parliament, becoming the “director of operations” for the Golan region, where he is believed to have overseen intelligence gathering, using non-Jewish Arabs and Druze as spies in Israel.

The Syrian Council of Ministers said Saleh had died as a martyr near his home in Ein al-Tina, Syria, across the border from Majdal Shams.

Not only that but he is a complete fucktard about global warming saying he understands all the concerns about it and that’s it real. Global warming is the biggest scam ever in the history of scams. There is not a shred of evidence to support it. It is now a cult devoid of science and reason. Today in Newcastle some young extinction rebellion shithead stopped the coal trains for a few hours while the authorities ran around like headless chickens. In light relief from the Hermit State of WA:

An Albany man who walked into the Rockingham Magistrates Court with a machete and a Darth Vader mask has been sentenced to nine months in prison.

Joel William Zessin pleaded guilty to 10 charges in Albany Magistrates Court and when Magistrate Dianne Scaddan handed down her sentence, he slammed his hands on the bench and swore.

“Just throw the book at me,” he said. “I’ll get killed in prison.”

Police Prosecuting Sgt Peter Yuswak told the court Mr Zessin walked into Rockingham Magistrates Court with the weapon on July 24 at 10.55am. When security asked the offender why he had the machete he claimed he “wanted to get the attention of” police.

In another incident the offender trespassed into a Newcastle Street apartment building on August 30 between 5am and 5.30am. Police were called and Mr Zessin tried to hide in a firehose cupboard. He refused to provide his personal details to police and had to be forced into the police car before being taken to Perth Watch House.

On a separate occasion Mr Zessin was caught driving Holden commodore on March 9 despite having his licence disqualified for life. He gave police a false name.

Mr Zessin was also charged with five counts of breaching a suspended imprisonment order.

Sgt Yuswak asked the court to consider immediate imprisonment. “He shows a total disregard for court orders,” he said.

Mr Zessin represented himself and pleaded with the court not to send him to prison as he was fearful.
“I had no intent of using the weapon,” he said. “I had a brain snap. I swear to the court I will never break the law again.”

Magistrate Dianne Scaddan said this was Mr Zessin’s third chance and he had ignored previous court punishments. “In my view the taking of a machete and a costume to a courthouse presents a serious risk to the public,” she said.

Mr Zessin is eligible for parole and was ordered to pay a $1100 fine and court costs.

I’ve said before that I thought Gladys did her 180 because the PM and General Frewin pointed out that the only way to get everyone vaxxed was to take away their rights – lock downs and denial of the right to work to pressure the NSW public to conform; otherwise the country would not be able to open up. I still think that is true but maybe it’s only half the story.

The other night on SBS (Sat) there was a show about the British response to the virus. I didn’t see all of it – I came in about 25 mins in – just at the moment when the “chief government bigwig” responsible for getting the vaccine into the country said that early on, when the jabs were in the clinical trial phase, the UK was concerned that the country would be waiting “at the rear of the queue” because of it’s size – she said that they’re not a large country.

So it was decided that they would pitch themselves to be part of the clinical trial, but were told they had to organise 10K subjects. However, the govt was surprised that they actually managed to get that number of people.

Back here in Australia, the government has continued to raise the percentage of the vaccinated required before opening up. iirc, it started off as 70%, then it went to 80% and now, last week, the NSW govt started talking about 90%.

Did the government make an agreement with Pfizer – ensure that the numbers are very, very high – and Pfizer will supply – maybe a penalty to be paid if it didn’t get to an agreed number/perhaps the higher the number a cheaper rate? But this of course required that pressure be applied to the public, otherwise the numbers would not have been there.

Yes, not a demand shortage, clearly supply side. But why?

Because labour mobility (labour seeking economic benefit) has been curtailed by the plague, leading to labour shortages. Simple.

Something similar but different happened after the Black Death, leading to a change of economic relations which ultimately overthrew feudalism.

Haggard, bitter TV host plans her future (the Hun):

Lisa Wilkinson has been inundated with calls and messages of support from friends and fellow female TV journalists after revealing the details of her controversial departure from Channel 9.

Some of those who got in touch echoed similar experiences at the hands of a workplace “boys’ club”, following the publication of a hard-hitting extract from her upcoming memoir It Wasn’t Meant to Be Like This.

“Messages saying ‘Lisa, you’ve described what happened to me last year or three years ago’,” Wilkinson said. “Or ‘Lisa, this is why I left television’.

“I tell you I am feeling quite overwhelmed at the moment.”

It’c clearly obvious what will happen next. An all-chick ‘current events’ show, preferably with an also all-chick production crew.

Expectation: A panacea of all-estrogen equality and fairness, with all assembled feeling strong and confident and supportive of each other, with absolutely no backstabbing or snide, back-handed compliments on age, hair, makeup, martial status or gunt.

Monty is the king of wrongology, you are the queen. All hail the queen!

Lol. All it takes is to have a bitch online and they pick up the phone.

As far as blog dynamics go, there must be a critical mass of individuals with a variety of opinions. Madmen and socks don’t count.

From the RACGP publication:

“There is not enough evidence to plan widespread booster COVID-19 shots, a new review in The Lancet suggests.

The article ‘Considerations in boosting COVID-19 vaccine immune responses’ was published this week. Its authors include a group of scientists from international institutions such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the US Food and Drug Administration, the University of Washington, and the University of Oxford, among others…

‘Although the benefits of primary COVID-19 vaccination clearly outweigh the risks, there could be risks if boosters are widely introduced too soon, or too frequently, especially with vaccines that can have immune-mediated side effects.

‘If unnecessary boosting causes significant adverse reactions, there could be implications for vaccine acceptance that go beyond COVID-19 vaccines. Thus, widespread boosting should be undertaken only if there is clear evidence that it is appropriate.’

Someone’s now unpopular.

From CNN:

“The authors of the paper include two senior FDA vaccine leaders, Dr. Philip Krause and Marion Gruber, who will be stepping down in October and November, the FDA announced late last month. No further details were released about their retirements, although they sparked questions about whether the departures would affect the agency’s work.”
