It isn’t just high end chips in short supply. Even simple stuff like surface mount capacitors, resistors etc are sometimes problematical. The Pressure sensor modules we sell to Precision Agriculture use a pressure transducer in the same range as those used for ventilators. These were in short supply for at least 12 months with all production reserved for medical use at times.
Automotive chips aren’t generally very high end stuff. A simple 8 bit micro will handle stuff like engine control, ABS, ESC etc and get bored waiting for stuff to happen (oh look the crankshaft has moved another degree around!). The entertainment system probably requires much more computing grunt.
The way I heard it, when the Kung Flu struck, the chip makers asked the auto makers how much stuff they would need in the next 12 months or so. The auto guys thought they wouldn’t sell much so the chip guys cut back on the auto stuff and it takes a while to get back up to speed. Add in shipping problems and here were are.

Fair enough.
How big should the fines be?
$1 million?
$100 million?
$1 Billion?
$10 Billion?
$100 Billion?
How about $100 Billion and for each Executive above a certain level that gets gaoled, we take $5 million off per year sentenced?
The idea is to make damn sure this never happens again, and we should go for Corporate Debellation.

Anyway, thought, an FJ cruiser might be fun to do up. They sold between 2011 and 2016 at an RRP of around $46-$47k. Had a look in car sales, the bloody things are selling with around 150,000 kms for around $45k. For less than a hundred they are in the mid $50k!

Who knew cars could actually be an investment!

I loved the 80s Cruiser. And a 2000’s with a V8 diesel is the best thing ever in Pilbara terrain, dust and mud.

I may be a cripple but chances are I’m not stupid.

The serious answer to your question then, is no.

Internal haemorrhages do not usually clot in a way that forms a thrombus or embolus. These are unstable, breakaway clots that lodge well away from the tissue damage site or where excessive pooling has occurred.

Individual susceptibility is then influenced by genetic factors and diseases like Haemophilia or drugs like aspirin, warfarin, etc.

A fairly simple explanation (of a complex system) of clotting is found here:

I can only assume you would be referring to JCs encounter with a towbar.
Look, he’s probably just burst a blood vessel from the sounds of it.
Any of us doing a similar thing would probably be on an aspirin 100mg daily anyway. I think that most docs would be advising this for most of us old farts.
A firm bandage for a week or so and moderate exercise will see the body dissolve the blood which will clot anyway, then be absorbed.

As Winston said. The only variation then becomes age, relative condition (including things like senile purpuria- Easy bruising and thin skin), whether the trip broke skin and the presence of any blood-thinners more potent than aspirin. It will then just take longer for the wound to resolve.

Voice of Christian Porter rape accuser in SA poll run
Olivia Caisley
Reporter
@livcaisley
11 minutes ago December 13, 2021

The woman who spearheaded the campaign against Christian Porter after the former attorney-general was accused of rape is to stand as an independent at next year’s federal election.

Arts administrator Jo Dyer will contest the ultra-marginal South Australian seat of Boothby under the “Voices of” banner. She joins a growing group of high-profile women seeking to replicate the success of Helen Haines and Zali Steggall at the 2019 election.

Ms Dyer has been endorsed by the grassroots “Voices of” campaign and is running in the seat – held by retiring Liberal MP Nicolle Flint on a margin of 1.4 per cent – on a platform of greater climate action, the better treatment of women and integrity.

“Yes, people, this is happening: I’m running as an independent for the mighty seat of #Boothby,” Ms Dyer tweeted on Monday. “It’s way beyond time to reset the toxic mess of our current politics and demand honesty, integrity and accountability from our leaders.”

Ms Dyer shot to national prominence when she became the public spokeswoman for the friends of Mr Porter’s rape accuser, who took her own life in 2020, launching a public campaign for an inquiry into the allegation and the former attorney-general’s suitability to be a senior cabinet minister.

Mr Porter, who will leave parliament at the next election, was seen as a potential prime minister before the allegations, which he strenuously denies, came to light in an ABC report. In announcing his decision to leave, he lamented the “harshness” of elected office, declaring there “appears to be no limit to what some will say or allege or do to gain an advantage over a perceived enemy”.

Do it. The new film has a lot of aesthetic nods to the old David Lynch film, but overall does everything much better. Including sticking closely to the original book. No sound weapons this time around. The technology as depicted is far more plausible and ‘real,’ too.

The Sardaukar are now the terrifying badasses we read them to be, rather than gumby-suited shapes wobbling their way thru the desert.

I did miss Jürgen Prochnow and Max Von Sydow in the new movie. But the casting overall was very good.

Quick report for anyone interested

Friends just paid for us to spend Saturday and Sunday nights in a King Room in the Crown Towers, Burswood.

First note: The check-in line from about 2.00 onwards stretches through the foyer and and down around the corridor. Check-in wait in the queue? About two hours!

Guests? Overwhelmingly young (<40), inked, loud, cashed-up. Mouthy, rude, ignorant …

Cars … Mercs, BMWs and Audis dominate. Three, yes three, Merc G-Wagens in the queue. Two Maseratis, one Ferrari and a Lotus. Jeep 6.4L V8s a dime a dozen.

Staff: Amazing. Full kudos to whoever oversees their training. Lovely young kids mostly.

Food: Rockpool restaurant. No, I am NOT going to pay $260 for a steak. But there is food in the $40s. And it is amazingly well done. And the wine list is H-U-G-E, from OK to astronomical.

Accommodation: the room was faultless; the amenities first class, and the housekeeping above and beyond!

Casino: Bloody awful. Machines circa 1990; odds totally skewed; we did not see ONE person at a machine smiling. Roulette wheels dominated by young blokes betting in the hundreds. Entire place overrun by drunk, tattooed bimbettes with most of their bits on display.

The show: We saw the movie "Love Actually" with the background overplayed by the Perth Symphony Orchestra. Brilliant and superb don't even been to describe it. It was, quite literally, a lifetime event. Unforgettable. It was already my favourite movie of all time, but to hear the score played live, at full volume, like that was just … spine-tingling.

Interesting interview with Henry Sire, author of The Dictator Pope. An excerpt:

Ecclesiastical circles are not known for being able to keep their secrets. Do you indeed believe that Benedict who is considered by everybody to be very intelligent, was clueless about the dangers?
Pope Benedict is certainly very intelligent, but he is primarily a scholar, and he has shown himself deficient in political calculation and in judgment of men. But the main point is that Benedict in fact had a plan for the 2013 Conclave: it was the election of Cardinal Scola, and he obviously assumed that it would succeed. The fact that it never even got off the ground threw out all calculations; but even a much cleverer observer could well have failed to predict that the St Gallen Mafia, which had ceased to meet since 2005, would be suddenly resurrected, and with exactly the same candidate.

And the timing of Benedict’s abdication?
Where Benedict fell down was in the timing of his abdication. If he had delayed it even six or twelve months, several of the key players, including Bergoglio himself, would have been retired. Just as with the Bertone-Scola fiasco, Benedict showed his bad political calculation, and the result has been a Greek tragedy: the election of the worst possible pope, just at the moment when the Church seemed headed for recovery. This was the worst fulfilment of the damage done by the Second Vatican Council.

In this absurd age the tornados which have been around forever, certainly since the 1930s when they were a central character in The Wizard of Oz (1938), will no doubt be blamed on global warming rather than the damage being greater because of increased density of housing and other structures in the landscape.

Dr Gerrard said Queensland’s focus would now be less on individual cases and more about trends and monitoring the number of cases in the community and in our hospitals.

“Most patients, the vast majority of people with Covid-19 in the future, will be managed at home, we have systems set up now to start managing patients at home,” he said.

Dr Gerrard said it could be two months before health authorities understood the severity of the Omicron variant”.

UK Health Secretary: Covid Passes Will Be Cancelled Unless You Get a Booster Jab

No, no, Indolent. Didn’t you get the memo?
It’s not a ‘booster’, it is just the third shot. It was always meant to be three shots.

You thought two? No, you must be mistaken. We were monitoring the results after two, in the hope that the third wouldn’t be necessary, but we never said it was definitively a two shot regime.

Haven’t you received our ‘Letter to Australian households’ where we explain that this third shot could be THE ONE, with no further necessity for future booster? We sent it to everyone. Good God, man, get with the program, and read your mail.

Whilst you’re at it, if you’ve got any kids at home, push them to the front of the line to commence their treatment. Don’t worry that they are 10 months behind the program. Because the nannies are choking to death in the streets (what, you haven’t seen them?), ATAGI have discovered that we can give them all three doses in the same visit and still get the desired result. Kids bounce back!

Just to be one the safe side, we’ve also decided that because kids represent such a risk to the rest of society, if they live with parents whose vaccination status has lapsed, we can no longer allow them to attend school or be involved in polite (and dutiful) society. Yes, yes, I know they will have just been vaccinated, but think of it in terms of the ‘Precautionary Principle’.

If you’ve got any suggestion, feedback or complaints, please feel free to email them to us at:

[email protected]

Thanks Leon.

Or is the seeming lack of judgment purposeful? Certainly, the increasing number of physicians who are employed by others, most notably hospitals, plays a role. Remember: “He who pays the piper calls the tune.” Do you think physicians are immune to that adage? Physicians are just like everyone else, except they spent their relative youth in an expensive trade school.

As we saw with Rickw yesterday, even the most essential and valued employee is expendable if they don’t toe the company line. Last year’s heroes are this year’s zeros (cf NHS nurses).

My parents’ generation viewed doctors as slightly lower down than God himself, in many ways still do. I have held a different view for some years now and the response to Covid has confirmed it. Most doctors are incurious and process patients like meat, and many people are quite content with that – go in, get out, all over. Sure, they ask the standard questions, but seldom deviate from the script. I found myself telling my doctor about Novavax earlier this year – he knew nothing about it. Yet Covid and vaxxes and treatments were in the news every hour of every day.

Meanwhile in the Territory:

Naked dancer jailed for setting fire to police station

A WOMAN in her 60s who stripped naked outside the Palmerston police station and started “dancing and clapping” before setting all her clothes on fire has spent five months in jail.

Gay Fulton, better known as Scruffy, pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court to damaging the building with fire and was handed a nine month sentence, suspended after time served.

The court heard the then 65-year-old was a frequent visitor to the Palmerston cop shop when she was captured outside the building on CCTV shortly after 7pm on July 17 this year.

The footage shows Fulton “banging on the entry windows” before twice stripping naked after she was provided with clothes by a custody nurse in-between each incident.

Justice Jenny Blokland said at about 9.40pm, Fulton then piled her clothing and a sheet at the station’s front door “trying to get the items under the door”.

“She set the clothes and sheet alight and waited to ensure the items had caught fire,” she said. “She left the immediate area but did not go far. The fire alarms inside the police station were set off. The fire cracked the glass of the front door of the police station.”

In sentencing, Justice Blokland noted Fulton’s “voluminous” criminal history, which included attempted arsons against the South Australian Public Trustee and criminal damage by fire against an ANZ bank in Western Australia.

“From the facts of some of those previous matters that have been put before the court, similar themes and a modus operandi can be seen in relation to Ms Fulton’s offending,” she said.

“That said, it is obviously that Ms Fulton is someone who has had a very difficult background and has developed an anti-social personality disorder, which some experts suggest has been with occasional psychosis, which can be precipitated by cannabis use.”

Justice Blokland said while Fulton’s personal circumstances were tragic, a psychiatrist had concluded “that her underlying disturbed personality is, essentially, untreatable”.

“As may be obvious from the facts, she was homeless at the time of offending,” she said.

“Given the general motivation for some of her offending, it may well be that the assistance she wanted from police was to be able to stop over in the watch-house or something similar.”

Justice Blokland said Fulton’s “bizarre attention-seeking behaviour … can be seen as the direct product of her personality disorder and is substantially beyond her self-control”.

“I do accept this is at the lower end of offending that can be contemplated within arson charges,” she said.

“I do understand the police station was shut at the time, but nevertheless, offending against buildings like police stations are likely to cause alarm in the community.”

Broelman’s cartoon (or rather the picture drawn by the cartoon that is Broelman) seems to be implying that politicians are paid substantially more than civil servants.

Well, the number cited (80,000 public servants) indicates that the hack was lower to middling drones, not the mandarins sitting in the high offices on their high arses.

But then that is a ridiculous comparison. Either compare the salaries of public servants with their private sector equivalents (ignoring for a moment that there is an abyss between the value the public servants and the private sector workers add).

Or compare the senior public servants to the politicians – or more specifically ministers who notionally outrank even the most senior public servants.

Voice of Christian Porter rape accuser in SA poll run

In the “we* all get to be free soon!” infographic from Emperor Sneakers is many things. Interesting is that compliance masks and app-logging will be mandatory on “ride-shares” and public transport, large venues and facilities- ensuring just about everyone will be expected to carry one at all times. But a little glitch in the corner- the % “fully vaccinated” will now be calculated for the population 12 years old plus.
Put all clues together and Poirot is thinking- all high school kids will need to be jabbed and boostered ad infinitum, and apps and masks will be mandatory in high schools. Shame and exclusion will be doled out to those who are not, obviously.

Our increasingly caste-like elites:

QLD’s incoming CHO John Gerrard is a decades old friend of previous incumbent – and now QLD governor – Jeannette Young. They studied medicine together at Sydney uni.

Naturally, he’s already had discussions with her as to how he might fulfill his role.

I’m not suggesting he’s not qualified for the role; indeed, he may well be over-qualified clinically for what is essentially a bureaucratic role.

He’d have been better deployed in our parlous hospital system. Maybe he’ll have something to say about that, as it kills more Queenslanders per year than covid ever will.

Hmm, how trite of Miss Dyer to desire “better treatment of women” but I can’t help noting how Ms Dyer has been silent about Mr Flint’s treatment over the years at the hands of an unholy cabal of Labor/Unions, the Greens and GetUp scum. And I haven’t heard Ms Dyer or Ms Spender or any others who make up the GREEN “Voices of ” say boohoo about Thorpe’s words to Holly Hughes.

But you see, the plain truth is that Ms Dyer’s desire for “better treatment” doesn’t extend to conservative women. Anyone woman on the right is fair game.

The whole Porter imbroglio was about attacking the Morrison government and Scumbag Morrison fell for all of it.

And in related news, I was watching a youtube podcast this morning and up popped an advert for Allegra the Spender and the “Voices of” here in Wentworth. So it begins.

But that might put the drive to vaccinate the kids at risk.

Think of the hospitals, man…we must save the hospitals!

The great thing is that they can still test positive for something which just happens to be harmless. No one at risk, but terrifying numbers of cases.

And all those hospital beds, and all those machines (including the one that goes ‘bing’) can be catalogued, cleaned, tested, re-tested, cycled through maintenance schedules, upgraded, moved to different wards and back again, and factored into plans – so much activity, without any of those icky patients.

Maybe after the 4 or 5th booster. The accumulative vax damage will force the issue.

Think of the hospitals, man

Yes. We can only think of the hospitals. All the hospitals with beds set aside for Covid patients that were being built over the past two years.

So many of them, as it was such a huge and distressing pandemic and those beds were needed. Money poured into what would, after the pandemic waned, be another rung in Australia’s medical infrastructure.

Wait. What? No hospitals you say? What on earth did they do with all that time and money?

As I understand it, you only need maybe 2% of the population to be active in an insurgency/revolution for it to be successful so long as you don’t alienate the majority. Flyingduck could probably expand on this.

Expensive place Austria.

Austria says only the rich can go unvaccinated for £12,000 a year (14 Dec)

Next year, if Austrians decide to hold off on getting an experimental vaccine it will cost £1,000 a month or £12,000 a year. The charge even applies to children as young as 14. For a family of four with high-school age children, we’re talking about an extraordinary £50,000 a year ($100,000 Australian pa). If people can’t or won’t pay, the penalty is up to one year in prison.

Doesn’t say if they have to wear yellow stars too.

Got a call from a mate in Cairns last night. Once the taunting was done with he mentioned how he has driven the Bruce hwy from Cairns to Mackay recently. Worst he has ever seen it and he remembers when it wasn’t fully sealed, hell in a hand basket was the term used. They are starting patch ups of the worst stretches at the start of the wet, in other words band aids till next March.

He also got stopped at a bottle shop with get this, not 1 but 2 security for not signing in. Not in one of the crappier suburbs either. Think their new CMO is going to be just as clueless as the old but with a nasty authoritarian streak.

The Bruce Hwy is an utter disgrace. Literally falling apart in places, and usually adjacent to stretches where months of roadworks have done little more than ad a bit of fencing here or there, or ripped up a kilometre or so and rebuilt it (some of which is already showing signs of subsiding etc). Other major roads like the Dawson andBurnett Hwys which carry a lot of heavy transport are in the same situation, without having any repairs done at all. Lower the speed limit and throw a bit of tar and blue metal at the gaping holes seems to be the “answer” these days. Maybe if governments spent less money on crap they’d be enough to maintain our roads.

As to our new CHO, apparently he lost a brother to Hong Kong ‘flu years ago, and seems to be driven by some sort of personal vendetta against any kind of virus. That his crusade may cost the lives, livelihoods and sanity of the citizens of Qld or their families interstate seems not to matter. A man/woman on a personal mission in a position of authority is a very dangerous thing.

The stance some are offended by……..
Some people , like myself, feel it is our duty, a moral obligation as humans to warn others that may be deciding to take the jab, of the very great dangers of doing so, and that it is not a vaccine.
Terrible stance to actually care enough to speak up about the dangers.

We then believe once we have voiced our opposition to jab taking, regards personal safety, it is up to the individual, (as long as they are an adult) to do what they want.
Agreed?

Unfortunately, we would have hoped that under the circumstances those exercising their free will would take into consideration what getting jabbed may mean for those that are refusing the jab, as taking the jab empowers tyrants…(and they aren’t building those camps for the compliant), and what it meant for the nation and freedom in general.

Those that said “fuck you” and went ahead, are then upset people may be angry with their choice, or upset people lay some of the blame, quite rightly, at their feet.
You made your choice in life.
You decided that saving yourself from the flu was worth destroying your nation, and destroying your fellow man.

You didn’t take the vaccine in an Australia of 2019.
You took it under the state of emergency totalitarianism of a global socialist illegitimate government, outside the rule of law, and threatening you while keeping you hostage.
And you knew it had consequences for all.

But what is done is done, and I feel that the price you are going to pay for that, that some have already paid, is going to be punishment enough, so I don’t wish to go on about it.
In a way it’s irrelevant now.

Poor choices have been made, you need to admit that, as there was absolutely no health benefit in taking the jab.
Then we, as in the jabbed and unjabbed can unite and fight.
What is done is done.
You’ll all be unjabbed soon, or you’ll be dead.
You know a booster will do you more harm than good.
You know they are nails in your coffin, and these arseholes are coming at you with a nail gun speed.

You will soon enough be declared unjabbed (no booster) and be right back here with the social outcasts.
Or dead.
For what?
What good did it do?
You know underneath, your little tick on your phone will be going red within months.
You are only temporarily been granted certain passes (accompanied with all sorts of compliance bullshit) just to cross a state border.
You will never be free.
Simply, you will fight, or you will die.
We are at war.
Complying is not fighting, it empowers tyrants.
Fighting wars requires sacrifice, and the earlier it’s done the less sacrifice needs to occur.
Chamberlain comes to mind.
That is why I was for action way back at the start. To show disobedience right at the start.
How much easier would it have been, and how much harder now?
Deny I was sneered at for even suggesting it?…………. such was the denialism and fear.

Those jabbed will be unjabbed soon, and you know it.
All you’ve done is helped them cement in their anti human tyranny.

But you can only see the reality if you stop being in denial and accept the bleeding obvious.
This is an attack on the west by globalists.

It’s as plain as the nose on your face. Evidence abounds and every day for the last two years, just looking at the globe tells you it can’t be anything else.
Build back better.
All just coincidences?
FMD.

We are ALL the new Jews and we, the western disaster upon the planet who are gobbling up the resources, being too wealthy and stupid to realise we are killing the planet and too selfish to share our wealth with inferior cultures that keep themselves poor, ……need exterminating.
We must pay with our lives and the planet must be saved from western decadence.
The entire west are the new Jews.
And you can’t jab your way out of the cattle car.
You die from the jab, or you die from not taking the jab.
But the good socialists of the world will rid the planet of the disgusting wealthy west.

Compliance will still kill you.
Compliance will kill others as well.
You cannot comply your way out of this.
You use your Nazi passes thinking you’re the new Aryans?
We are all, every westerner, the new Jews.

But the one thing that is repulsive and needs calling out, is the using of your Nazi passes once you have submitted and become a good little Nazi.
Jab yourself to death, (which it seems some, maybe all have) but using the Nazi pass and participating in a segregated society is disgusting.
And you know it is.
Do you honestly believe it should not be called out?
Compliance and participation in this nightmare will see all of us killed.

What would Notafan types be in old Nazi Germany?
Would she be in the cattle cars or would she be dobbing in the whereabouts of the Jews, trying to justify her cowardly compliance by claiming those she gives up to the gestapo said mean things about her, so they deserve it?
We know the answer.
This shit needs to be called out.
You actions and speech have consequences.
Like never before.
The difference is Notafan types can’t see they are in for the gas chamber too, and are just helping us all get there.

That is a feature of Labor state governments, not a bug: roads aren’t maintained if they’re more than 10 kms from the GPO, unless it’s part of a deal to win Green preferences*.

In country Victoria, the Andrews regime is reducing speed limits to 80kmh rather than fixing main roads for the people who need them – i.e. farmers.

I recently travelled in the Geelong-Bacchus Marsh road – a major connector with the region’s massive population growth (driven by immigration). The road has been totally destroyed by the amount of traffic on it and it has speed-restricted from end to end . I saw people doing crazy things to beat the traffic (overtaking on blind stretches, etc).

Country Victorians are second-class citizens while the Andrews regime hops into bed with the Chinese Communist Party and its Belt and Road strategy for global domination.

*In the runup to the last state election, the Andrews regime cancelled construction of a freeway project, costing $1.1 billion in fund already allocated, in order to win Green preferences in inner-suburban marginal seats.
