“You know how Monsanto patented genes in seeds? Imagine doing the same to people’s immune systems…”

For the analogy to be perfect (and totally sinister) you would need the new immune system to be rendered dysfunctional without the constant top ups in the form of booster shots. Oh, wait…

What wanes after 3 months? Is it the estimated potential of outright contraction? Avoiding getting very ill?

The serum concentration of antibodies that act to prevent infection wanes – so your probability of contracting Rona on exposure increases.

However, protection against severe disease remains for longer. Apparently still going strong at 6 months, with mRNA.

LOL sure, ‘protection’ from ‘severe disease’.

These death jabs are a fukn failure, 100%. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck…….

QLD reduces quarantine from 15 to 7 days for fully vaxxed close contacts.

QLD police commissioner “relieved” as she has 100+ police in quarantine with many more to likely follow.

I think they’re playing catch up with QLD Health , which has allowed close contacts to keep working if they test negative, lest they have to close wards for want of staff.

*dusts off hands* Well, that’s that. Last of the Christmas presents wrapped. Glancing at the OT while battling cellophane and curling ribbon and sticking myself to everything with sticky tape. All now under the tree.

The first of my visitors descend tomorrow, beds are all made up, just need to vacuum and put some flowers in the rooms. Nice fresh ones straight from the garden. In a couple of days we will run out of beds and the floor will have to be used strategically. I don’t want to trip over the odd grandchild in the dead of night!

Re lack of staff, our small town is reliant on tourism and holiday makers. There’s two pubs, four cafes and a few shops. All the pubs, and cafes are running reduced hours, some only open four days a week, others just for the mornings. No staff, unfortunately the popularity of the town and restrictions on development have seen a massive rise in property values, there are virtually no permanent rentals, certainly none on the market and rent (if you can find one) is amazingly high. Throw in easy welfare and the few here who live on casual wages are just not interested.

Great to know that Morrison and the Libs and Labor all believe that the problems can all be fixed by bringing in heaps of unskilled, semi literate people from countries that have cultures completely opposite from that which is left of our Aussie culture.

That’s the shortage of medicos fixed, with replacements for those who refused to be injected.

What’s your proposal for the desperate shortage of hospitality staff?
If you’ve got an answer you’ll be the first I’ve encountered.
I don’t have an answer, no politician I’ve spoken to has the faintest clue, nobody outside the industry has much more than a vague idea how tourism/hospitality operates (except to advise that we should “smile more” or somesuch deep observation)

The nearest I can get to a solution is allow temporary entry skilled work visas.
But for some reason, the most vehement opponents (from the left) of such visas insist they have a direct pathway to residency & citizenship.
Short term temporary entry seems to be anathema to everybody – except to the employers & actual temporary entry workers.

Both infection and severity drop from over 80% at 3 months though the latter diminishes more slowly. Infection is roughly 15% more likely after 8 months in vaxxed group, while severity is roughly 25% lower after 8 months in vaxxed group.

Irrelevant. These % are used to BS people.

If you’ve wondered just how fast Omicron will saturate covid cases, check out the daily history data in the UK. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1042546/sgtf_totalepicurve_2021-12-19__1_.csv/preview

“cases with SGTF” is Omicron.

Once it takes off (above say 0.1% or so).. goes from 0.5% of cases on 1 Dec to 70% on the 17th

Let’s not blame women for the collapse of civilisation, its moral code, its religious code and its law and order. It’s not women’s fault that they are easily manipulated by socialists and communists. It’s not women’s fault that they are the biggest users of social media and especially young women who live in this gaian/wokeism echo chamber.

Not is it women’s fault that the birth rate is below replacement, nor that they seek high end careers in corporates or academia at the expense of motherhood.

And it’s not women’s fault that there are far more stupid women then stupid men and there are a lot of stupid men around or that there are far more highly intelligent men than highly intelligent women. Not many of either of those around.

It’s just biology.

However malevolence will always appropriate stupidity to drive its agenda.

I want Ron DeSantis to run and win.

But he won’t. He was asked just that question yesterday and responded that he had just nominated to run for Governor again. I agree that he would be an excellent choice and hope he will run in future, but at this moment it is truly more important for him to continue to set an example for the rest of the country and the world in Florida than run for President and risk missing out, either by fair or foul. He is exactly where he should be right now and will be returned for another 4 years.

Unmasked, unvaxxed Prince also welcomed in to collect me afterwards. Coffee and raspberry cheesecake in cafe at hospital entrance after…exactly the same warm welcome and service.

This afternoon’s visit to the surgeon’s rooms unmasked and unvaxxed, sharing with 10 or so others..also fine. Attempts by the two of us to buy lunch in a much diminished and sad looking Maling Rd?

Good comment.
Those in or closely associated with hospitality understand.

$1m in silver bullion stolen from a truck from Sydney to Melbourne

Detectives are appealing for information after 960kg of silver worth more than $1m million was stolen from a truck as it travelled between Sydney and Melbourne.

Lauren Ferri
Digital reporter
36 minutes ago December 21, 2021

Police are probing whether “inside knowledge” was involved in a $1m silver heist from a truck travelling between Sydney and Melbourne.

The 960kg of silver bullion was allegedly swiped from the truck travelling from Maldon, near Picton, to Melbourne between 4.30pm on November 26 and 8am on November 29.

The theft of the consignment, containing 192 individual 5kg bars, was discovered when the Kenworth truck and silver Krueger trailer arrived in Melbourne.

NSW Detective Acting Superintendent Paul Smith, from the robbery and serious crime squad, said police were canvassing all possibilities but had no suspects. “One of them is there is insider knowledge involved,” he said on Tuesday. “It’s certainly very unique, these type of bars, they’re quite large and quite heavy and they’re stamped with an identifier on them.”

The driver and freight company involved are working with police, and there is no suggestion they are involved in the robbery.

The stolen silver bullion is estimated to be worth $1.015m.

According to David Byard, chief executive of the Australian Beef Association, the meat has become too expensive, and inconsistent.

Zulu responded:

It’s the demand of the Australian consumer for top quality food at rock bottom prices.

Everyone wants everything at rock bottom prices, doesn’t mean they get what they want.
The issue here is Quality.
The Animal Fat causes Heart Disease Myth was debunked years ago [The Sugar Industry secretly paid a Medical Huckster named Ancil Keyes to publish a fake Study that found the cause of the sudden Epidemic of Heart Disease to be Saturated Fat, instead of Sugar, the real culprit] but the news hasn’t got through to the Horse and Sulky Fogeys at the Australian Beef Association.
[Is it an NGO, because what Grazier in their right mind would pay for this sort of representation?]
Anyway, people wanted Butcher to trim the fat off their Beef before he weighed it up.
That’s not economical for Butcher so he started buying 18 month old Carcases, which flavour wise ain’t Beef instead of 4 year old,
which is.
Then there’s Yearling, which ain’t Beef either.
Result?
People couldn’t buy Beef anymore and they weren’t keen on the substitutes.
So the real figure for Beef Eating isn’t 18 kg/person/year, it’s under 1 kg/ person/year..

there are far more stupid women then stupid men

I thought that wasn’t the case.

Wasn’t there a problem for feminism when analyses of IQ test data showed that the frequent biological phenomenon of “greater male variability” applied to human intelligence?

As best I recall, the saga went as follows.

The analyses of IQ tests over many years and many data groups suggested that average intelligence of men and women is the same, but the standard deviations from the mean are higher among men, i.e. fewer average ones, more very stupid ones, and more very intelligent ones.

Why’s that a problem you may ask.

Well, because feminists don’t care about the stupid end of the spectrum but they care very much about the intelligent end. At the stupid end, the people are either on social welfare or are doing jobs where intelligence isn’t a significant factor. But at the intelligent end, intelligence will be a very significant factor in a lot of high status jobs. And if it became generally accepted that there were more highly intelligent men than highly intelligent women, that would be (at least in part) an explanation of why there were more men in highly senior roles where intelligence was important – thus possibly scuppering the push for 50/50 quotas.
So when a journal proposed to publish a mathematical analysis that was said to justify the “greater male variability of human IQ” proposition, the journal was met with a firestorm of cancel culture threats so they dropped the paper.

if you can squeeze a recipe outta the chef, that’d be great

He gives this recipe with a warning: there’s no such thing as a Christmas ham. With this recipe, you’ll be asked to bake at least three before New Year.

Preheat oven to 170 centigrade.

Marinade:

Half cup firmly packed brown sugar.
Third cup honey.
Third cup maple syrup.
Tablespoon Dijon mustard.
Microwave for thirty seconds and stir to dissolve sugar.

To prepare ham:

Carelully remove skin, leaving a layer of fat.
Score fat in diamond shapes and stud with cloves.
Line a large baking tray with baking paper. This makes cleaning easy.
Use one third of marinade to generously coat ham.
Place on lowest rack in oven.
Bake for an hour and a half, basting every 25 mins.
Don heavy armour and select weapons to keep drooling and desperate ham raiders at bay.

Best Man found this recipe on line. He chose it for its simplicity (and lack of wanky ingredients). It now features in the hallowed book of Delta Family Traditions.

I was merely suggesting that a familiarity with the subject via what is regarded as the definitive modern study (which comes in a less than 200 pp) might be desirable before one labels a theory “tripe”.

No. This is a daisy chain of stacked turtles of question dodging.

OK…here’s a primer.

Also, I’m sure you’ve read The Abolition of Man. Would be worth a revisit. Not very long at all.

I said it, but so delicately and with that it might have been missed.

Never use a bazooka when a popgun will suffice.

Sir William Slim, when training his forces for the invasion of Burma, emphasised using maximum force. His reasoning, when asked, was “There is nothing wrong with using a sledgehammer to crack a walnut, as long as you have a sledgehammer, and don’t care what happens to the walnut”.

And they’re without a political voice atm.

Remember vaguely a story on the religious persuasion of western Sydney and it being broken down to the younger age groups being anywhere half to three quarters Islam in some LGA’s. There is about to be a big demographic shift in areas like this when the baby boomers pass.

I am genuinely surprised we haven’t seen the beginnings of an Islamic or ethnic Middle Eastern based party yet. Maybe ALP branch stacking is keeping a lid on it.

I just don’t get it. Someone please explain it to me because I must be missing something, some piece of logic of which I am unaware.

Friends with grown children interstate and grandkids, relatives overseas … they all got the shots so they could go see them especially at Christmas. None of them can go and yet they’re not angry at the govt. They can’t seem to make the connection that they’ve done what they’ve been told to do and still can’t go visit friends and family. Yes, they agree, one can still get the virus and can still pass it on. Yes. yes, omnicrom variant doesn’t make you sick really but it’s very contagious. Yes the death rate even before the vax was very low and the recovery rate 99% before vaxdoom, they agree. But still, no anger at the govt or the CHOs. Nothing. Just a shrug of the shoulders. I just can’t fathom it and some are even getting third shots. It’s like they’re hypnotised or something.

Kyle Rittenhouse receives ‘rock star’s reception’ with standing ovation and fireworks as he appears on stage at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest event

Kyle Rittenhouse was met with roaring cheers and a standing ovation when he took the stage Monday at the Turning Point USA conference in Phoenix
He joined several conservative commentators for a panel called ‘Kenosha on camera,’ which addressed the events of Aug. 25, 2020
The teen told the crowd his murder trial ‘helped me grow a lot, it’s helped me mature’ and shaped the person he is today
Rittenhouse also shared how he turned to God during the trial for strength and guidance and continues to do so today: ‘I pray to him every single night’
He also told the audience he took the stand during his trial because he wanted to ‘tell the world what happened in Kenosha, the truth’
The teen advised his followers to ‘live one day at a time’ and hinted that he may be pursuing legal action against media outlets he feels were misguided in their coverage of the Kenosha incident

I’m not a Boomer. Not that there’s wrong with that.

Apparently I’m a Joneser.

Just my luck…I get all of the criticism that Boomers get but had none of the advantages.

That’s the nature of a woman.

I think it’s also the nature of a man. Psalm 127 comes to mind.

A man at the head of his table, surrounded by family, is a wonderful thing. Even Darryl Kerrigan would agree!

..
I put a thread up about that.
My latest theory however is that it’s time dependent.
If you just rocked up to someone in March of last year and outlined everything that they’ve done and the “reasons” for it people would be aghast.
But when you spread it out over the best part of two years and people live through it, make decisions through it they get into this sunk cost fallacy type of thing.
In other words, they justify it to themselves with selective blindness.

Yep. The power of suggestion via the MSM.

And on sledgehammers and walnuts, if you care about the walnut, you will use a nutcracker. Or maybe the meat tenderiser.
