The Djokovic saga is a disgrace.
Australia is double down clown world.

At least it answers the question of whether our politicians are stupid or malevolent. The answer is: both.

“Novak Djokovic’s visa has been cancelled “in the public interest” just days before the Australian Open tournament is set to begin.

Immigration Minister Alex Hawke has announced his decision just before 6pm on Friday.

If he talks about an appeal we should crowdfund to give money – not because he is short of a buck, but to show him what (some, at least) Australians think of their stupid government.

I am getting royally pissed off at how the governments are tarnishing the reputation of Australians. We will eventually get to go overseas and have to spend our time sheepishly apologising for these clowns and protesting that we personally disagreed.

And, after all, tipping in some of our own money makes sense if we are trying to make a case that what is happening to us is unconscionable.

Victorian Deputy Mong says he doesn’t think Djokovic saga is damaging Melbourne’s sporting reputation

“I don’t think so … there have been challenges worldwide with a global pandemic, but what we have seen over the last two years is the ability to deliver.

“The delivery of the Australian Open last year was a challenge but we got it done and it was a great event and I’m sure it’ll be the case again this year,” Mr Merlino said.

Groups including Palestine Justice Movement Sydney organised the boycott because the festival accepted a $20,000 sponsorship from the Embassy of Israel, which it regards as an “apartheid state”.

The Pali Justice movement could offer up an event as well. But that is not how they act at home or here: They just sit back, spreading bullshit, creating nothing, expecting a dishonest media to dupe a gullible public into fighting for them.

Quite so Calli.

For two fucking years, even since this “pandemic” began, we’ve had celebrities fly in and fly out of this country, just remember that this was well before there was any vaccination and when the virus was….supposedly…….at its most lethal. They were given special dispensations, they were given special privileges….denied to ordinary Australians like us. I can’t visit my father in Perth. I have not seen him since November 2019.

I note that a few days ago “Digger” had a go for wanting to see the demise of Scumbag Morrison and his motley government and for doing everything in my power to achieve that goal….well I’m rather flattered Digger thinks I have such extraordinary powers but you see I don’t have to do anything to ensure that this ghastly government will be terminated, they’re more than adept at doing it themselves because every day they are digging their own hole….and everyday day that hole gets deeper and deeper and deeper.

The psyop rolls on:
Flood of COVID-19 vaccine bookings ahead of strict new rules for unvaccinated in WA

According to the ABC, throngs of desperate unvaxxed people are swamping GP clinics trying to book their shots, but we’re told 95% of the population aged 12 and over are vaxxed. If we’re to believe this figure, there really aren’t that many people left to vaccinate. And how many people who remain unvaxxed at this point are not stubbornly opposed to being vaxxed? Not many, I’ll bet. These new restrictions aren’t nearly as punitive and damaging as the mandates that made vaccination compulsory for 75% of the workforce. But this unicorn cohort of the uncommitted unvaxxed are panicking over their vaxx status now?

I’m not buying it. These new restrictions make me even more determined to resist getting their nasty juice. Go fuck yourself, McGowan.

Hey, slug business

Imma gunna stop you there.

You just touched a sore point.

Community Chef allegedly lost so much money it became an expensive embarrassment to the three tiers of government funding — notably to City of Dandenong (among others) but also to the 2010 state health minister Daniel Andrews and to the then-federal infrastructure minister Anthony Albanese, who sank millions into Community Chef.

Community Chef could drown in debt and close — or it could try to qualify as an “essential service” to protect it from competition indefinitely.

But the only way to qualify as “essential” to catch the gravy train of public funding was to kill its competitor.

That, says Ian Cook, was the motive for council string pullers to recruit Elizabeth Garlick to find an apparent breach of health regulations.

It is not some wild allegation by an angry man heartbroken at seeing his 35-year-old family business crushed, and 45 jobs die with it.

It is backed up by more than a year of investigation done for nothing by former detectives Brady and Porter, who became interested after a tip from a disgusted police source.

So, no matter whether you love or hate Djokovic , Hawke has waited until the death knock on Friday night to announce his despicable decision to make sure there is no access to courts in order to appeal.

a Applying for a loan

I think that is right chrisl.
I have offered full or partial cash to everyone who has done work for me over 30 – 40 years.
That is more than ten renovations.
Some were done as a business so there had to be a real quid pro quo there.
The private ones I didn’t care so much.
Twenty years ago a lot wanted cesh.
But I have only made one cesh payment for $3k in the last 10-12 years, out of maybe $200k (ignoring the tiny repair jobs).
Here’s the thing.
I really am agnostic about what others do re cash vs card.
I was just pointing out to Sal last night that a business has a legal right to refuse cash as a mode of settlement, and also observing that there seems to be an inexorable shift to card payments.
I am genuinely surprised how some people get wrapped around the axle about this issue.

Finally, last week Victoria Police confirmed it has closed the case on allegations of sabotage and evidence-tampering.

No charges will be laid over the closure of I Cook Foods, sparking fury from the company’s boss.

Ian Cook attacked the decision.

“When will this government and their police force stop lying to the Victorian people? Crimes happened,” he said.

One reason for the snail’s pace in the slug “investigation”, perhaps, are hidden relationships between some players. It is staggering that no one was interviewed in the first inquiry, not even Elizabeth Garlick, despite an overwhelming circumstantial inference that the slug was planted.

Another Friday special announcement..

And Sicktorians will lap it up.
Speed limits set to be reduced in regional Victoria
The Andrews government is backing a plan to lower speed limits on some country roads from 110km/h to 80km/h to improve safety.

Victorian regional and rural roads that are deemed a high crash risk could have their speed limits reduced to 80km/h after a parliamentary inquiry called for reform to help lower the road toll.

Identifying key unsafe country roads with low traffic numbers to reduce their speed was among the recommendations made by the inquiry.

The Andrews government has supported the proposal for roads where upgrading infrastructure or installing barriers is not an option.

Roads with high traffic volumes would be be considered for priority funding towards their upgrades.

Try this “yes Minister” statement.
“It is understood the community is concerned that reduced speed limits in rural and regional areas will result in increased travel times,” the government response reads.

“The Victorian Government will support any changes to policy with community education that highlights the systemic risk of speed and links to road trauma on low standard roads, while also addressing travel time concerns.”

Ie: Fuck you plebs, we will spend the money we could have used on the roads to give to supportive papers/broadcasters to run ads telling you to go pound sand.

And more roads will have variable limits that change based on the conditions.

Odds of speed cameras at those locations??

It should come as no surprise that after “that” election voting for the senate was reformed so that this preference whispering could not happen again. Senators were being elected as per the ticket lodged on the 38th or 39th preference!

You now number EACH party you want to vote for above the line and the votes are then applied from top to bottom as per the ballot paper in order of YOUR preference.

If you don’t like the sequence on the ticket, ie you think say Amanda Stoker is more worthy than no1 or 2 on the ticket then you vote below the line.

Ok – what’s going on in the Solomons at the moment…

Same as per bloody usual over the last 30 years, Solomons and PNG and other Islanders like to get violent when settling internal disputes. As we have been over several times in previous conversations on the matter, Australia is looked up to as the bigger brother and good neighbour in the Asia-Pacific, and expected to show up to unruffle feathers and calm trouble souls when the internal politics gets frisky. RAMSI and the Bougainville deployment in 1995 were not at China’s behest.

Also, there is nothing to indicate that Scummo is not the driving force behind what has been going on in this country for the past 2 years.

No. But that does not mean for a second that Beijing is the puppet-master behind the home-grown ‘tardedness we are being subjected to here. And it does not mean we will be seeing PLA soldiers marching down the streets of every capital city on Australia day. I reiterate once again, that we are not governed by a Party who is reliant on a bigger Communist patron and their Red Army to maintain their power. No matter how hard your informing sources want (and want you with them) to believe.

Do you really think that POS is going to undo all the crap that’s been forced on the Australian people?

No. The Australian leftist establishment and the population who have let it run amuck and unchecked, seem to need to receive yet another good, hard dose of their own failures.

We may not like it, but we are outnumbered.

I am sorry Tony, but the CCP are not sending people to oppress us. Nor are we agents and lickspittles of their alleged empire.

Everything we have experienced since the end of 2019 has been home-grown off the back of hysteria overseas.

According to the ABC, throngs of desperate unvaxxed people are swamping GP clinics trying to book their shots

More accurately OCO, these numbers are the folks who have just been told that as of Jan 1st, their shots were arbitrarily only valid for 4 months, and those double-stabbed in October/November have til the end of this month or Feb 28th to stay Mark-compliant.

From Jan 31st, everyone in November has until the 28th of Feb.

So that 75% of the workforce who reluctantly made themselves Mark-compliant betweem October and December 31st, 2021, now has to be shoved thru this tiny and artificially-contrived logistical bottleneck between now and the end of March in order to satisfy Comrade Sneakers’ ego. Even though the Carnival is already over in the East, and everyone at risk of the Nosferaflu will have had it here by the end of March.

Tasmanian massacre ‘not black and white’: claim Risdon Cove eyewitness was dead at time

Exclusive

A group of researchers says it has uncovered evidence “debunking” claims that one of Australia’s worst Aboriginal massacres occurred at Hobart’s founding site.

History books have stated a massacre of 30-50 Aborigines occurred at Risdon Cove on May 3, 1804, in a bloody prelude to the Black Wars.

Two British officials involved reported the deaths of three or four “natives”, but in 1830 an ex-convict, Edward White, told an inquiry into frontier conflict that he witnessed a “great many” deaths.

White’s “eyewitness” account has been used since to justify claims of up to 200 deaths or even the butchering of “a whole tribe”, as well as inclusion on historian Lyndall Ryan’s national massacre map.

However, a group of amateur and professional historians has conducted an exhaustive search of convict lists and other archival material – and found no evidence for any Edward White being at Risdon Cove, or anywhere in Van Diemen’s Land, until many years later.

Researcher Scott Seymour said his group had discovered the Edward White identified as the eyewitness in a 2003 history of Risdon Cove by author Phillip Tardif could not have been – because he was dead.

“The Edward White that Tardif and other historians tell us about as having arrived on the ship Atlas and having been at Risdon Cove in fact didn’t survive the journey from Britain to NSW,” Mr Seymour said. “He died on the way.”

Every list of those present at Risdon Cove – including one relied on in the Tardif publication – contained no Edward White, Mr Seymour said.

Mr Tardif could not be contacted, but Professor Ryan said an absence of White from records did not mean he was not present.

“To claim that Edward White was not a witness to the massacre is ridiculous,” she said.

“None of the 19th century historians … query White’s testimony. If White was a fake, he would have been exposed long ago.

“This is the latest in a long line of massacre deniers.”

All lists of convicts present in VDL from 1803 to 1805 contained no Edward White, with the name not appearing in records until 1818.

Similarly, lists of first inhabitants at Risdon Cove and Hobart contained no Edward White.

An Edmund White, whom Mr Seymour said “fits the bill” as the 1830 committee witness – “Edmund” interchangeable for “Edward” – did not appear in VDL records until 1811.

The researchers – who in April will publish a book detailing their findings – believe the White who gave evidence to the 1830 inquiry, rather than being an eyewitness, was regurgitating stories circulated in the preceding 26 years.

“We’ve turned three or four people who were killed – a tragedy that shouldn’t have happened – into a massacre of a whole tribe,” Mr Seymour said.

Aboriginal activist Michael Mansell agreed with Prof Ryan, saying those responsible for the killings – the basis of Risdon Cove being handed back to Aborigines in 1995 – had “plenty of reason to downplay their actions”.

“Observing White at the hearing, rather than reconstructing a tale 200 years later, the committee saw White as a credible witness,” Mr Mansell said.

“This (new) book seeks to reconstruct a convenient version of events, 200 years later. Credibility is the key issue here.”

Driver fatigue.

What makes drivers fatigued? Well, largely, longer travel times.

What will lower speed limits do (if people obey them)? Make travel times longer.

The fucking turd Maximum Leader is refusing to pay for proper maintenance of country roads, the lack of which he knows will kill people. It will kill people either through driver fatigue if they obey the new limits or through the inadequacy of the road if they don’t.

In the mad rush to condemn and punish our ‘leaders’ and betters by any means necessary for 2020-22, we have missed the fact that even broken clocks get the time right twice a day.

The Jokovich cancellation, like it or not, credit Scomo and Border Bastardry or not, is one of those times. If the rules say one thing, and he does another, why should he be exempted from facing the consequences because he is famous and photogenic?

Remember how many folks get turned around on a daily basis for bullshitting Border Force (and other nations’ border security apparatus)? Just because the Joker is the Saint of the Hour, regardless of the fact he was lured and enabled by a Tennis Australia and Victorian Government wanting him for the money, and any embarrassment caused to that debbil-debbil rightwinger Morrison in the process was cherries on the shit-cake, does not excuse anything he did.

The Joker is no different to any other celebrity, sportsperson or other ‘special people’ who have been enabled to come in or out without restriction while the rest of us have been barred.

The Joker will still make World No. 1 and a pretty penny out of this year. There was no need to offer himself up as a potential political football to a State-captured Victorian organisation.

Lost a second friend today over the vax issue. In Sydney to see physiotherapist & saw “friend” – a lawyer- over the road & shouted a greeting.

She quickly “masked up”, & shouted that she was back at work in court…..in the midst of “the unvaccinated” (how does she know?). Not willing to let that go (she knows I am unvaccinated) I shouted back that “What does it matter….vaccinated or unvaccinated…you can still be infected?”

She returned with, “Well, they have a bigger viral load…” to which I responded, “Not according to the great Dr. Fauci….” After which she walked off ….

That makes total now of two less friends. People say that is a small number considering “leper status”.

To summarise, Zepps said the incidence of myocarditis is higher in youth COVID infections than it is in youth vaccination recipients.
Rogan said that wasn’t the case.
Zepps said that was the case.

My take would be if it was that high in youth COVID infections, that news would have been broadcast non stop for the past 6 months.

I don’t know this Aussie Zepps bloke or where he lives, but if it is in NSW then he’s quoting from meaningless mumbo-jumbo.

In NSW if you have a vaxx jab and acquire an adverse reaction within 14 days of receiving that jab which requires hospital attendance, then the NSW health people record your admission as both:

1. Covid-19 patient (whether you have the virus or not), and
2. Unvaxxinated.

You don’t qualify as a vaxxinated patient till two weeks after your third jab, for now.

Given that most blood and heart issues arise within the first fourteen days of getting the jab, these people in NSW will be reordered as Covid-19 positive, and unvaxxed.

Rex, Scomo & co say that they follow the advice of ATAGI in implementing said rules. They further agree that acquired immunity after Covid infection is grounds for exemption.

In my opinion the Djokovic matter cast unwanted light on this issue. Many wrong decisions have been made in the workplace and elsewhere in enforcing vaccine mandates on those who have acquired immunity.

The fed doesn’t look at the CPI. It looks at changes in Personal Consumption Expenditure Index and rent is included, I believe.
Is rent in the PCE?

The rental value of tenant-occupied housing and the imputed rental value of owner-occupied housing are both part of PCE housing services, reflecting the amount of money tenants spend for the service of shelter and the amount of money owner occupants would have spent had they been renting.

Stop worrying, we’ll be fine. Always keep in mind that what you see is also what the bond market sees and it’s been discounted. As I keep saying, we’ve suffered a massive supply shock which has impacted relative prices as demand is all bunched up.

You’re a fucking wanker. No one should be subject to idiotic rules written by complete fucking wankers. Everyone has a duty to disobey and disrupt fucking idiotic rules.

You can argue about Djoker’s rights to a visa until you are blue in the face.
What is beyond dispute is that ScoMo and Hawke have made absolute cunts of themselves for a perceived political gain.
Which they are too stupid to see that they will not reap.
If he had no right to a visa, he should have been told two weeks ago.
This is a pair of arsewipes setting someone up for a fall to further their own public image.

If Djokovic chooses to appeal that is.
The Seven reporter said that Federal Court staff were “standing by”, ready in case an appeal comes.
It is likely to be before the judge who overturned the original fuck up.

Now, in the hope of a political advantage to themselves they single out one guy and urge the rest of us to join in attacking him.

All the tyre sales places banded together and agreed not to sell worn sets to dickheads.

If Australia sends him back, we will have slighted the nation of Serbia, which can result in a declaration of war. They don’t have a navy so we’ll have to meet them halfway to have a war. I don’t think there’s much happening in Afghanistan at the moment.

Postcard of sorts.
If you are considering Corsica.
Porto Vecchio is quite beautiful and the weather today is peerless, sunny (and quite warm) and still.
But the old town and harbour are very quiet in winter and none of the boat trips are running 🙁
The main attraction here seems to be the very beautiful beaches mainly to the south of the town.
Art and museums all seem to be in the big town on the west of the island, Ajaccio, and I’ll probably day trip there by bus.
If I had my time over I’d have stayed in Bonifacio first but was concerned about my need to obtain a health pass which didn’t seem to be available there.
It’s quite possible that covid is discouraging many northern travellers at the moment but, from personal experience, a day like this here, has it all over a day in say Frankfurt in mid January.

NYC is back, at least high up NYC. This has to be the most expensive sale in US history I think

Billionaire hedge fund boss Daniel Och sells his Central Park penthouse for $190million just two years after buying it for $95million

Daniel Och, the founder, chairman and former CEO of global hedge-fund Och-Ziff Capital Management Group, purchased a penthouse condo at 220 Central Park South in 2019 for $95 million
He had also purchased a smaller studio apartment on a lower floor of the building
The purchase went through after he relocated to Florida for tax purposes and he had planned to use the property as a pied-a-terre in Manhattan
Och has now sold the property for $190 million amid a wealthy real estate surge in the city
It is unclear who has purchased the four-bedroom, five bathroom condo

DOORSTOP – CANBERRA, ACT

JOURNALIST: Prime Minister just quickly on Novak Djokovic, how did he get an exemption to come into Australia and have we see his vaccination passport?

PRIME MINISTER: Well, that is a matter for the Victorian Government. They have provided him with an exemption to come to Australia, and so we then act in accordance with that decision.

JOURNALIST: Do you think that’s appropriate?

PRIME MINISTER: Well, that’s how it works. States provide exemptions for people to enter on those basis, and that’s been happening for the last two years. So there’s no change to that arrangement. The Victorian Government made their decision on that. And so I’d have to refer to the Victoria Government about their reasons for doing so. Thank you.
