The takeaway from 2020 is shaping up as:
1) US voting systems are, by design, open to corruption;
2) Corruption is widely distributed and practiced at a local level by activist electoral officials who ‘know what to do’;
3) Because of 1) & 2) issues and extent of vote fraud are too complicated for quick and reliable forensic identification – Courts will not involve themselves (or can avoid involving themselves) in the constitutional electoral process within the timeframe available.
The GOP needs to make sure as much 2020 detail as possible is out for the mid-terms and certainly for 2024.
And (to the extent possible) put in place surveillance that allows early ‘evidence-grade’ fraud identification – that puts a significant political and personal cost on corrupt activity.
In other words, anticipate and make corruption a lot more risky at a local level.
Complaining about the past and demanding voters ‘put things right’ probably won’t fix the situation.

Gabor, the chatter I am hearing is that the flooding that has cut the Trans is a 1 in 50-year sort of event. In 2020, a confluence of circumstances came together that allowed them to cheat on a scale that flipped the result – temporary measures put in place due to Covid that weakened election security in battleground states, large numbers of election workers that genuinely believed Trump was worse than Hitler and willing to do whatever it took to get rid of him, a GOP establishment that preferred a Democrat establishment candidate victory over their own candidate, inadequate GOP oversight of the count, inadequate preparation by the Trump campaign to assemble a solid legal team to fight the imposition of Covid measures pre-election and contest the outcome effectively, and an enthusiastic yet naive group of voters that had no idea how low the Dems were willing to stoop to in order to get their guy over the line.
Subtract just one of those factors from the 2020 election and Trump wins. Most of them won’t apply in 2024. What the Dems managed to pull off in 2020 was a close-run thing and is not replicable. If they won again in 2024 under questionable circumstances, it will be because they devised and were able to implement very different ways of cheating. I don’t think they can do it this way. A Dem candidate may still win in 2024, they’ll have to win the old fashioned way – by being a more attractive choice for voters than the other guy.

But the other problem is that it is much, much easier to fudge numbers in a State than in a Congressional District of <700k residents (let alone voters).
I just don't think that ballot tampering (in whatever form) is viable across enough districts to matter.

We are thinking of booking this for an 18 nite Adriatic and Agean cruise in August 2023. Only 275 pax and something a bit different in the cruising line.
