Zulu has read up on Truscott by the sound of it, but I think it was over water and low height – horizon is very difficult to judge.

I’m going from memory – I had a biography of Truscott – he was carrying out a practice attack on a US Navy Catalina, when, as you say, he misjudged his height, and crashed.

Wow. I would have sworn that was 1978. Although I don’t remember seeing Mr and Mrs Dusty. Anyway it was the year Jo Jo Zep and The Falcons played “The girl across the street has turned has turned eighteen” to a fairly hearty reception, and Mr Camilleri quipped they couldn’t play that song in Melbourne anymore.

Perplexed:

I wonder if it is worth getting some Soryu’s as well as a stop-gap for attack boats?

I doubt the Japanese would allow us anywhere near their boats after the debacle last time. In short, the Australian Defence officials invited a senior Chinese PLAN officer to examine the Japanese Soryu boat, despite being warned specifically not to do so and lying to the Japanese government when it blew up in their faces. (Some details may be inaccurate, but the general thrust is correct. Top Ender will have the real story.)

Righto brains trust- i’m searching for a word
I need to describe the phenomenon of people rising to the top of a dynamic meritocracy and then denouncing said meritocracy as capitalist, racist, sexist and homophobic- simultaneously claiming their success as being all the more stupendous as it’s over the forces of darkness in hell on earth, and demanding the rule of this babylon be overturned to ensconse special power for their chosen splinter group… forever.
A combination of deserved praise turning into mortal pride and then the will of Sauron.
Any thoughts?

Something hilarious to look up is how lefties – vegans, the Sierra Club etc have all “deboonked” holistic management/grazing.

I can’t tell if they hate it because it doesn’t require big government, it could be highly profitable or it actually empowers people at the most local level possible.

They’re against holistic management and they’re also against conventional farming (per recent insanity banning various nitrogen fertilisers).

The problem is too many of them work in government and don’t know how anything at all of value is produced.

They don’t want high productivity but in recent years commodities have had “sustainability declarations” on them declaring no more land was cleared.

Also: no nukes to desalinate water, environmental flows and the GAB must be capped.

It is just an insane mindset.

Rabz, in late ‘79 the gov. Introduced a law whereby we had to be fed if the establishment wanted to stay open after ten pm.
Imagine the joy of stopping a show and being force fed rice gruel under the watchful gaze of the nsw police before the show could continue!
True. They would send maybe 10 nsw coppers into the Civic to force the punters to eat mid a Mentals show. Insane.

Criminals in WA prisons given pay rise higher than guards
Josh Zimmerman
The West Australian
Sat, 30 July 2022 8:00PM
Comments

WA’s convicted criminals have received a 7.6 per cent hike to the payments they receive for engaging in work or study while in prison – nearly three times the McGowan Government’s wages offer to the guards imprisoning them.

The increase to inmate “gratuities” – signed off by Corrective Services Commissioner Mike Reynolds – is in line with inflation in Perth for the year to March.

WA Prison Officers Union boss Andy Smith said granting prisoners a pay bump that matched inflation while guards were being asked to go backwards in real terms was a kick in the teeth.

“We don’t begrudge the prisoners getting a 7.6 per cent increase because costs are clearly rising but you can’t do that for prisoners and not do it for the people looking after them,” Mr Smith said.

“It is the biggest insult you could possibly come up with, especially when running the jails so incredibly short staffed every day.

“This clearly puts prison officers in a lower class than prisoners in the eyes of the government.”

The stupid fucking Liberals…

“Voice proposal a ‘step in the right direction’

Federal Coalition frontbencher Julian Leeser says the Labor government has taken a step on the right direction with Anthony Albanese’s speech on an Indigenous voice proposal on Saturday, and the next step is awaited.

Mr Leeser, the Coalition spokesman on Indigenous affairs and a supporter of an enshrined voice, says the government should offer more detail about its composition and structure ahead of the constitutional referendum.

“I don’t want to see this fail because the government has not provided the detail or answered necessary questions,” Mr Leeser, the Liberal MP for the Sydney seat of Berowra, said.

“It’s important that the government answers people’s reasonable questions about the voice,” he said.

“We as a Coalition have an open mind about the issue of the voice that the government is putting forward, and we are awaiting the details. This is a step today on that road … the next step has to be to explain to Australians how the voice will work, who will serve on it, how they will be chosen, what will it do and how it will address the issues that concern Indigenous Australians.””

Au contraire Mr Leeser, the Voice proposal a “step in the WRONG direction”.

As I wrote yesterday, watch the Liberals cave and capitulate to this. Nobody will come forward to say NO for fear of being smeared waaaaaaaacccccciiiiiiiist. What a joke the Liberals are.

A Professor explains:

The University of Melbourne emeritus professor Marcia Langton was scathing on calls for “detail” when she spoke to ABC radio on Friday.

Prof Langton, who co-chaired the Indigenous voice co-design group, said there was ample detail already available.

“When people say they want more detail, all that tells me is that they refuse to read our report, because all the detail is there,” she said. “There’s over 500 pages of detail, and I see this demand for more detail as just a mystery of making and sowing confusion. I do wonder if some of them can read and write.”

Speaking of the “Voice”, I was looking at clothes at the Country Road website this morning and even a fashion website is spruiking the “Voice”.

I reiterate, we will see a similar campaign to SSM, but this one will be on steroids, so that anyone who critiques it will be smeared. We will see more and more large corporates and businesses spruiking the Voice, just like they did with SSM and people will be suffocated and/or strangled into saying “yes”….”yes”…..”yes”.. Why? Because people will think, like they foolishly did with SSM, that if they say “yes”, it’ll all go away and then they’ll have a quiet life, but the consequences from writing “yes” to this “Voice” will destroy this country and it will be the enshrinement of constitutional apartheid in Australia.

Bad News for Al Gore’s Quest to Be the First Fake Meat Billionaire: Beyond Meat stock falls after conclusion of McDonald’s McPlant test (30 Jul)

Shares of Beyond Meat fell 6% in morning trading after J.P. Morgan said McDonald’s ended its U.S. test of the McPlant burger, which uses Beyond’s meatless patties.

The fast-food giant confirmed to CNBC Thursday that the McPlant test concluded as planned. Neither McDonald’s nor Beyond Meat has announced any plans for additional testing or a nationwide launch.

Beyond’s stock has fallen 53% this year, dragging its market value down to $2.06 billion. Wall Street has become skeptical over the company’s long-term growth opportunities as grocery sales lag. Moreover, buzzy partnerships with restaurant giants like Pizza Hut owner Yum Brands and McDonald’s haven’t progressed to many permanent nationwide menu offerings yet.

People don’t want to eat fake meat, insects and salads to save the world from something which isn’t happening. Hopefully Maccas will have worked this out by now. Especially since their ‘healthy menu’ has died the death of customer disinterest a couple of years ago.

A voice is a good step. The High court of Australia confirmed sovereignty of indigenous peoples from Mabo (2) 1992 and Love v Cth (2020). Terra nullius is a legal fiction, these people got invaded, colonised, murdered and displaced for hundreds of years now. Since Cth never signed a treaty with indigenous people, then the indigenous people never ceded sovereignty to Cth or the queen, a fact confirmed at the High Court. Referendum is a required formality to give our existence international recognition as settlors vs invaders.

I say this because MSM posts on FB are undoubtedly heavily (very heavily) weighted against this stuff in the comments. Some comments are hilarious, but nearly all are on target.

People are not as stupid as AnAl thinks. The Australian public has pandered massively to these dickheads, and sadly let a lot go through to the keeper. They have also fallen for the scare tactics over the last couple of years, but they see through this rubbish and they know what it means for them and their kids…second class citizen status.

He shouldn’t assume that his own intelligence is the benchmark for the rest of Australia.

P.S. Ironically, I think that government over egging the custard with Covid has made a lot of people more suspicious of Government motives and methods. I’ve lost count of the number of people who got Covid, brushed it off and are now questioning the extent of the scare campaign.

International Criminal Court shelves investigation into alleged war crimes by Australian troops

Taliban and Islamic State leaders have unknowingly given Australian Special Forces an indefinite break from the International Criminal Court’s investigation into alleged war crimes.

News Corp Australia Network

Australian Special Forces troops accused of Afghanistan war crimes have been handed a reprieve with the International Criminal Court (ICC) indefinitely shelving an investigation into their alleged atrocities.

As venerated former soldier Ben Roberts-Smith awaits the Federal Court in his defamation proceedings to decide whether there was truth in Nine’s allegations he was involved in unlawful killings, the International Criminal Court has confirmed there was no prospect of a “genuine and effective” investigation into broader claims against Aussie troops.

The decision follows last year’s Taliban Afghanistan takeover with the ICC declaring with its limited resources its attention was instead now focused on investigating alleged crimes committed by the Taliban and the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP).

Allegations against other parties had now been formally “de-prioritised” but with no statute of limitations could be revived if and when circumstances allowed.

According to the ICC the gravity of allegations against the Taliban and the ISKP were severe and included “indiscriminate attacks on civilians, targeted extrajudicial executions, persecution of women and girls, crimes against children and other crimes affecting the civilian population at large”.

The ICC would not go into detail on where it had got to probing claims against Australians.

“Confidentiality is a crucial aspect of our activities therefore the Office of the Prosecutor does not publicly discuss specifics related to its activities,” a spokesman told News Corp Australia.

The Inspector General of the ADF’s Brereton inquiry into allegations of war crimes by Australian Special Forces, mostly from the SAS, uncovered evidence of 39 murders against civilians and prisoners by up to 19 Australian troops.

The Office of the Special Investigator gathering evidence to a level to potentially bring matters to Australian courts has also struggled with its probe post the former enemy during the decades-long Afghanistan war now running the country. It has also discovered one key “witness” to alleged war crimes was confirmed to have since been killed, ironically as an enemy combatant and suspected al-Qaida affiliate.

But the fallout from the 2020 Brereton findings have been wide ranging, not just to those implicated, but to broader ADF operations.

Indeed it was.

Also, after one of the Fiji coups (IIRC, the second, by Barnacle Bill the Sailor Man), the Fijians proposed an amendment to their Constitution, to entrench indigenous Fijian predominance over non-indigenous (mostly Indian) citizens. With Gareth Gareth Evans leading the charge, Australia vigorously rejected the very thought of such a waaaaayyycissssst apartheid policy.

Yet, here we are, about to introduce such a change.

Knew a bloke – died recently – in Darwin, who post-war decided to get into surplus materials being sold off by government.

He went to an auction and bid 10 pounds for a jeep, and got it. Wasn’t going so he spent a few days trying to organise a trailer. When he turned up the depot bloke thought it a bit funny. He’d actually bid on a line of jeeps, and had actually bought 20 for 10 pounds.

Putting together the campaign for a “Voice” and Speedbox’s post on EV, I had a wicked thought.

When the “leaders” of the indigenous industry realise that it will not be nearly as easy to re-charge their new EVs using intermittent power generators as it was to fill up their Land Cruisers with diesel, will they rebel against the destruction of reliable generation, at least where they live?

And given where most of those “leaders live, in major southern cities, will the rest of us then gain some benefit?

A very well written letter from an old digger

Sometimes a letter campaign can have good results, so don’t believe the claim that letter-writing is useless. It’s sometimes a matter of picking your target issues and hitting the right people. Numbers can count, as when submissions are called for, although at the right moment just one persistent voice can produce desired effects. I’ve had some good success recently with a couple of well-fired missives.

Re getting the right people, one of mine was to someone whom Hairy’s barrister friend called ‘a jobsworth’ (I really love that very British term), i.e. a smooth bureaucrat trying to pull the wool in their response to you. Pouring scorn on the deficiencies of their answer with cc’s to the press can make them wriggle and change tack. Keep it polite though, as always.

There’s more context to this.

One wonders if Evans would have been as strident if Fijian Indians were not politically aligned with the ALP via the Socialist International?*

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) recently issued their latest “Provisional Mortality Statistics” for January to April 2022, which seem to substantiate the data points observed by TrialSite: that the first three months of 2022 included an unprecedented number of COVID-19 deaths despite near universal COVID-19 vaccination. The below, whilst true, needs to be put into context.

Simple comparison. By the end of 2021 Qld had only had 2,000 cases and 7 deaths. Once the border was opened and Omicron spread the number of cases exploded. Can’t remember the date but Courier Mail reported in February that the CHO Qld had said he thought 1/3 of Queenslanders had already had Covid but most were not aware. I remember upon reading that noting the official number was 450,000 cases (ie. 200,000 X pre 2022). A 1/3 of Qld wouid be about 1.7m people. CHO Qld did a random street sample on the Gold Coast and found 20 with the virus. However only 2 realised they had symptoms.

CHO VIC only the other day said he thought only half cases were being reported. Daily Mail about 10 days ago said official case numbers were 9 million but experts believed more likely 16 million.

What this means is the hospitalisations, ICU and death rate is much less than the official numbers they use in the scare campaign.

Plus it must be mentioned repeatedly that the average of those dying is about 84 and with comorbidities. A fact the media always forgets to mention.

I use a simple analogy. If 9m or 16 million people in Oz from a normal cross section of the population all wore red T shirts for 3 months how many would be admitted to hospital or die anyway ?

Meanwhile people are still be coerced to choose between their job or taking 3rd or 4th jab. If they can coerce you to take 3 or 4 then you can be sure they will want to go for no 5 which is not far away.

Still, the jabbed data is that more people than ever are dying of covid. And this, too, must then be good thing because, well, imagine how sick they would have been without the jab. I’m looking forward to monty’s attempt to wriggle out of this error.

He’ll just disappear for a while, and leave Rosie here to defend the vaccines on her own.

Spam spam spam spam.

SPAM goes on lockdown due to inflation in NYC (30 Jul)

It’s the nation’s crises in a can. Inflation and crime have gotten so bad in Gotham that even cheap meat like Spam has to be locked up. At Duane Reade’s store in the Port Authority bus depot, the shelf-stable product—only $3.99 a can—is now being stocked in plastic, anti-theft cases. “I’ve never seen that before!” one cashier laughed while using a magnet to remove a can of Spam from its cage.

So popular that people now try to steal it.

Influenza and pneumonia – 648
Pneumonia – 647

Do notice how this leaves one (1) person dying of influenza, whilst 3k died of Covid.

A mystery for the ages.

Mater

last year, a doc told me that the system doesn’t really count flu deaths. Flu mortality was always done as an estimate for the most part as extra deaths over the flu season.

I actually had personal experience. My dad caught a flu/cold, which then turned into pneumonia. He died from this and the death certificate said something like pneumonia/heart failure complications. It started with the flu though, but it wasn’t mentioned.

Cause a death I think is a very difficult thing to figure. For instance, one doesn’t die from a brain tumor itself. A person dies from a stroke caused by the tumor.

Fester,

The drug stores on the Upper East Side have all their shelves locked up – even for stuff which I would imagine is cheaper than Spam.

The Port Authority? LOL. Even the buses should be locked up there.

Stop thinking too hard.

What this means is the hospitalisations, ICU and death rate is much less than the official numbers they use in the scare campaign.

Accepting the raw numbers and there’s no cheating the stats, why would they be less the official numbers. At least what evidence can you provide?

My kids have both joined me in COVID iso. I was due to get out on Tuesday, but I will be minding them all week. No symptoms from either of them, I’m fine as well.

Child abuse from their own mentally deranged father.

And I hope Tom was being funny.

And then this insanity…..from your local fright bat of gulliblity.

Has everyone forgotten why? Closed international borders and a series of hard lockdowns, which meant very little covid was circulating.
As for Monty, being triple vaccinated and only getting significantly milder omicron no doubt significantly reduced his chances of carking from covid..

FMD.

And still there are many of you who deny the mental sickness here on this blog.

Dribbling cretins for the most part.

Section 128 of the Constitution provides that any proposed amendment to the Constitution must be passed by an absolute majority in both Houses of the Commonwealth Parliament.

At the referendum the proposed alteration must be approved by a ‘double majority’. That is:

a national majority of voters in the states and territories
a majority of voters in a majority of the states (i.e. at least four out of six states).

The votes of people living in the ACT, the NT and any of Australia’s external territories count towards the national majority only.

Early prediction but on the above can’t see the voice passing. If the unlikely event only 3 states pass it I can see it falling at the national majority. Yes I am confined to NQ with a conservative leaning population but I’d say rural areas in the larger states will be the hurdle where this fails.

A lot of people have had enough of the welcome to the country crap. Polling for years has shown the voice as a non starter. Even with the coming propaganda campaign that Mao would be proud of and vicious character assassination/censorship the likes of the SSM debacle people will keep their feelings to themselves and unlike the SSM sham be compelled to vote either way.

Wait and see I suppose…

It’s a fact.
It’s indisputable.
Covid hasn’t killed any more than the yearly flu does because it is the yearly flu, with the same symptoms.
WITH THE SAME SYMPTOMS.
It’s killed no one in third world countries where you would presume they’d be dying in their millions.

Covid is , and has been all along fear propaganda.

The messages delivered and the propaganda never added up and never made sense.
The lack of questioning regarding the bleeding obvious (cases compared to actual sickness) should have given the game away to all and sundry but it didn’t.
To those who didn’t lose their shit through fear, the messaging of the propaganda was laughable in it’s inconsistency and lunacy.

But it worked on a great many people.

And so they got jabbed.

They took jabs from people who want them dead.
From the enemies of the West.
And now they are dying……as many were told would happen, but they didn’t listen.
They could not comprehend who has been actually running the world for decades now…….
Why our politicians were doing exactly the reverse of what the people wanted.
FOR DECADES.
So the messengers were laughed at.
Called conspiracy theorists.

Overall death rates of the working age are through the roof, and directly correlating to jabbed precincts and juristicions.
The more jabs the more deaths.
Indisputable.
And meanwhile the African continent bar Israel, continue on as if nothing has happened, unjabbed.
Israel, the country hated by the left, by the international communists of the UN, became the most jabbed nation on earth.
And still nobody thought that weird.

Some on this blog did.
RIGHT FROM THE START.
So now the proof is out there, in reports from insurance companies and undertakers and from studies that are not funded by those at war with us.
THE JABBED ARE DYING.
Biggly.
And our enemies all of a sudden stop publishing data regards deaths.
They would wouldn’t they.
The first battle, so easily won, knocked out so many (yet the jabbed, in their denialism, seem to think if they have survived this far they are going to be fine) SO FAR and of course that will ratchet up soon.
But voices SCREAMING about what is going on will be silenced……..but worse, and here’s the catch, it seems even if the message gets through, the jabbed, in all their modern weakness of mind, in all their self insulation, will not believe it for a second.

It’s the Salmon Mousse!
Mean words.
Or booking a trip to Thailand.
Pathetic….and a complete disregard for children in doing so.
Allowing children to be jabbed because you don’t want to admit the jab is deadly, to soothe your own mind, is a disgusting cop out.

Those doctors , on realising their own culpability in killing thousands of people each, are already absolutely unable to diagnose causes of death these days!!!!
Funny that.

Or about as unfunny as it gets.

COVID is the leading cause of death in Australia today

Madam Deputy Acting Speaker, I withdraw the comment. What I had been reading was COVID is a leading cause, not the leading cause, and I got it jumbled up. My bad. In the words of Tony Kornheiser: I will try to do better the next time.

Also, we just don’t know the context.

The context was 2 young black punks beating up on an old white guy. This could have been you head prefect coming out of Little Italy with a belly full of Melanzane Alla Parmigiana and a smile on your gob.

Why does there have to be a context other then he’s white. Listen to the conversation in the restaurant as the black boys are beating the crap out of the guy; completely normal, no concern at all; then when the dude pulls out his colt the shrieks of fear and outrage come fast and furious. Makes me fucking sick.

Incidentally you can’t find this video on google or Twatter.

JC,
Every fortnight (during the flu season) they produce a comprehensive report, and have done since at least 2009.

They take all you points into consideration, or at least they did.

Don’t let them pull the wool over your eye about why the flu deaths instantaneously stop around Apr 2020.
